Preferred Solution: internet is working fine but there is yellow triangle symbol on my int

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: internet is working fine but there is yellow triangle symbol on my int

First start with rebooting your modem. Unplug modem from power source, turn off computer. Then Turn on modem first, then computer, once modem is fully booted. Report back.

Answer:Yellow Triangle Not Going/Some time yellow triangle goes but then also not working

we do no provide remote support on the P Chere

using xirrus see what sort of signal you are getting around the house
if the strength is -70 or lower (note negative number) then that would be why you have a connection issue as the signalis not strong enough in those areas
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

Hi,

Last night I bit the bullet again & upgraded to windows 10 & then did a clean install. I have noticed that the network icon in the system tray shows a yellow triangle & says no access but I can surf fine with chrome & use qbitorrent etc.

The only way I can get rid of the yellow triangle is to disable the network adapter & then re enable it.

Not using any third party firewall as private fireall doesn't support windows 10.

Any ideas?

Answer:Network icon in tray has yellow triangle but net works fine

Try uninstalling your network adapter but don't tick the box where it says "delete driver" then rescan for hardware changes.

Hello!

Just bought a new Cisco e1200 router about 1.5 months ago. When I first hooked it up, it was giving me EXTREMELY low download speeds (only on wireless, not while connected through ethernet). After switching the networking mode from "mixed' to "Wireless-G only", the speeds went back to normal. This is just info that might help you determine source of this problem:

My internet at times refuses to work, and the connection bars in the task bar display a yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside it. This goes away when I unplug the router from the power and replug it.

I took a screenshot of "ipconfig /all" during, and after the problem. Also, does the problem have anything to do with me setting the networking mode to Wirless-G only? What should I have it set to?

Ipconfig /all DURING problem(not working):
Ipconfig /all AFTER problem(working):
Any help would be appreciated! Thank You!

Hello all,

I've come here to hopefully get some assistance with my internet issue rather lack of internet issue.

I have an Acer Aspire S3 and am unable to connect to home network using Wifi connection. I have tried almost everything and nothing has worked thus far. My laptop does not have an Ethernet port so I have been unable to test if it works through a wired connection.

My laptop is working fine as I have tried other wifi networks and there has been no issue. The modem/ router is brand new and works fine with the other devices in the house (2 other laptops and iphones).

I have spent hours on the phone with time warner and with Acer and both are blaming each other.

It's been like this since we have moved into the apartment (2 weeks ago) and I have been unable to connect on my laptop the entire time. However, i have taken it to other places and it works perfectly fine.

In summary, I have done the following-

- Reset the router etc. - didn't work
- un-installed the network adapters - didn't work.
- Restored the laptop to factory setting - didn't work

The network and sharing info. says that it is connected yet it is labelled as an unidentified network and there is no internet access. There are full bars on the screen and I signal is excellent. The other devices do not struggle at all ( one Toshiba satellite Pro and one Macbook).

I am now desperate and would love some help as both Time Warner and Acer have been mostly useless up to this point.

Answer:Yellow Triangle, No internet access - Tried everything

Hello and welcome TJ just had a look at the specs and I can't believe it doesn't have a cable port.

But down in the system tray at bottom right is there an icon with the connection indicator?

In the Device Manager see what the adaptor setting is like - see my pic.

Then you could try the little flag bottom right near the audio control click on it and it will or may show you if something needs fixing - mine shows those USB ports need attention.

If this cannot be fixed easy - return it to the dealer mate if it is still in warranty - that is a lot of money for a laptop especially one that size.

Have a limited connection and the icon in the tray has a little yellow triangle. How do I resolve this?

Answer:internet conection...the yellow triangle

How long has this been happening, WiFi or ethernet ? First, try right clicking it and select troubleshoot problems let it run see if it solves anything, second try turning off router/modem for 15 seconds then turn back on and also reboot at same time. Third check the device manager under Network adapter, any yellow exclamation point ?

where internet connection strength is shown in main screen there is a yellow triangle with a black exclamation Mark in it covering the signal strength icon. I have tried contacting my Internet provider who could not fix. They have sent a new modem but still same issue on pc. I have several games consoles and also have an iPad and iPhone and Internet is working on these however my neighbour tried to use her laptop in my house and has the same issue, please help as I don't know what else to try.

by the way the icon I posted is what the triangle looks like!

Answer:yellow triangle preventing Internet access

Neighbor not connecting would indicate the modem or possibly wireless security issues, but other devices being able to connect makes it sound more computer related.

Wired or wireless connection to the modem? If wireless, have you tried connecting by ethernet?
What make/model modem?

Check in Control Panel, Device Manager, click the + to expand Network Adapters list to see if any problems show there. Yellow marker.
Right click on the adapters name and select Properties at the bottom of the list. On the General tab thereshould be a message in the Device Status box. Either "This device is working properly" or an error message.

You can make screenshots to post here instead of typing everything..
To make and save a picture of the present screen
Hold the Alt key down and hit the PrintScreen key.
Open Paint (under Accessories) and click Edit, Paste.
Click File, Save and save the picture to My Pictures as a .jpeg image.
If the computer doesn't have an internet connection, save to a USB drive.

To upload it to the forum, open the full reply (Advanced) window and use the paperclip (Manage Attachments button) at top of window. In the small window click the browse button and go to where you saved the screenshot and click on that file. Then click on the Upload button to attach the file.

Would also help if you posted the IPCONFIG /ALL for the computer.

Hey guys, I need your help. Yesterday I thought I'd disable a few services that some sites suggest me to do so, and I accidentaly disabled "diagnostic policy service", ever since then I have a yellow triangle over my network indicator, and it says that my network is "LIMITED". I have re-enabled the service and it runs now, but it's still the same.

However the internet works perfectly, but Windows doesn't recognize ipv4 and ipv6 services, so I can't change my dynamic IP to static, cause it just runs troubleshooting. Sometimes it says that diagnostic policy service doesn't run, but usually it can't recognize what's the problem. I need to have static IP, and of course it's a bit annoying too, so anyone can please help me what to do? Thanks for any help.

Answer:Yellow triangle over network indicator, but internet works

Can you post a screen shot of Device manager. Also post the output from the following: Open a Command Window as Administrator and enter without the quotes: "netsh wlan show all" if you are using wifi for Internet. If using Ethernet, run "Netsh lan show interfaces" (without the quotes).

Past 3 months Internet has been crashing and yellow triangle appears. I've tried everything apart from chucking out the window. Now the yellow triangle has been replaced with a Red Cross on network connection.  Network cable is not plugged in properly or broken, I've tried 3 different working cables but still no joy. Im beginning to think it's the network card.ive looked at everything on google, you tube, HP, Windows, for suggestions, still no joy.My hub is working ok with tablet and TV sportAny ideas would be gratefully received, I'm at my wits end

Answer:Internet connection yellow triangle, Red Cross Pro3500

Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try updating the ethernet driver directly from Realtek. You want the 2nd file listed on the webpage. http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would agree that the ethernet chip on the motherboard has died.

Hello, firstly, I would like to state that this is my first post on these forums and I would like to note that while I will make an effort to abide by the rules of the forum, I may slip up. If I do just let me know.

Anyway, to the matter at hand. For over a year now, I have been using my Alienware M14x laptop, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Up untill now, there have been no problems with it's operation, least of all with it's internet connection. However just recently I have had a major issue with my internet connectivity. When I attempt to connect to my house's WiFi, I can connect to the router, however I am told that there is "No internet access" this is depicted by a yellow triangle the signal strength indicator, this prevents me from using the internet or any online functionality whatsoever. I have tried all of the obvious methods, such as resetting the router and rebooting my laptop. Additionally, I have tried all of the "ipconfig" commands in the console. However, that is the extent of my attempts to remedy this, as I only have a basic knowledge of WiFi/internet.

I have tried searching the web for a solution but to no avail. So I have decided to ask the Windows 7 community personally.

Also, many people with the same problem have posted their "postme.txt" files, so I will aswell, as it may prove usefull.

Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help as I have spend hours scouring forums and trying fixes with no luck..

I have recently started getting the little yellow triangle with the exclamation point on my network access system tray icon.

My internet is fine as all other devices (pc, iPad, I phone, Android phone & ps3) all connect perfectly to the internet.

If I disconnect or run the network troubleshooter my computer connects for anything between 30 seconds and 5 minutes before telling me no internet access. Network Diagnostics tells me the default gateway is not available and has fixed it but only for a few moments.

I am using an Edimax EW-7622UMn wireless network adaptor for which I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled and updated drivers.

I have performed a clean boot and am getting the same issues. I don't have any other connections configured on my pc that could be conflicting.

Please, does anyone have any bright ideas? Thanks in advance.

*I've bolded the main points for you

Good morning everyone!
I am currently doing all my schooling online and was supplied with a Lenovo Think Pad laptop that has Windows 7 Pro running. It's been a few months since I had it and it was working perfect at the beginning, but for the last two months I've had problems with my internet connection.
I have Eastlink wireless internet, and called a tech in. They upgraded all my wiring, tested the connection and whatever else they do and I still had the problem, I called them again and they came in and said everything looked fine, and then I mentioned the little yellow triangle that appears over my internet connection icon every time I disconnect (about once an hour sometimes more now). He then said that it was my computer, it happens a lot with windows and that it is probably my drivers.
So he uninstalled my drivers, re installed them and updated everything and said that should help hopefully, and left. He also mentioned when I do my schooling that I should plug into the modem just to be safe that I don't lose anything.
So here I am with my computer plugged in, my wireless disconnected and I'm connected by only a wired connection, I am the only one home and the only one accessing my internet, and I am still getting the yellow triangle and being disconnected !!!
*also want to add that when my hubby is home and he is accessing the internet while I am on it, He disconnects too on his IPAD, but ONLY when I am on it as well. The same al... Read more

Well you could check the router's security settings; if it's set to use WPA-2 security delete your security credentials - reset and try again - or change to WEP and try again. Maybe try another router.

Hi !

First of all thank you every helper and tutorial maker for the awesome work that helped me to find solutions !

I'm on Windows 10 x64 and my network device is a Intel GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit).

My issue is :
I have a yellow triangle over the network icon in the notification area and it says me "Network : No Internet" even if i can access to internet and my network works perfectly.

That's not very serious issue but that's disturbing to know if i'm connected or not (real disconnections can happen).
After trying to reboot my rooter and uninstalling/reinstalling Intel's newest drivers i don't know what to do.

If anyone has an idea because Windows fixes and solutions wasn't useful for me.

Answer:Yellow triangle over internet network even if internet works

Well you rebooted your router, but you also need to reboot your modem too. Or unplug both, wait a min, then plug modem in 1st, then router. may also have to reboot your computer.

edit: title should read "My internet icon has the yellow triangle. When I troubleshoot it, it says "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings.""

Any idea what the problem? I googled it and none of the solutions seem to help. I think my computer is infected with malware right now. It is heating up quickly and I'm seeing ads in text in websites that don't do that (cbc, reddit, wikipedia). I had this issue a couple of months ago but Spybot seemed to fix the issue.
Recently I noticed my computer was heating faster (and hotter) than usual so I ran a search and it said no threats were found. Not too longer after I start noticing the ads again so I know there is a problem. I have ran the search twice since then and still nothing. I was advised to use ccleaner, malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware. It removed one other threat but the problem was still there. I then started using combofix, but I did not like the look of it so I stopped that scan. It seemed a little sketchy.

As of this morning, I'm having the internet problem. My old laptop (the one I'm on now) and my girlfriend's laptop work fine. I connected it with the Ethernet cord and that didn't change anything.

I have Windows 7. It's on a 2010 Samsung (I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure about all the other details). I primarily used Firefox, but I just switched to Googlechrome this week (well after the problems began... Read more

Hello!

Just bought a new Cisco e1200 router last week. When i first hooked it up, it was giving me extremely low (significantly lower than my old router) downloading speeds. After switching the networking mode from "mixed' to "Wireless-G only", the speeds went back to normal. I tried "Wireless-N only", but it didn't work after that. Seemingly, my computer does not work with Wirless-N?

It's been running okay now, but 2 things happen occasionally:

When playing a game, I experience lag for a period of 5 minutes, or sometimes 20 minutes. It goes away on its own. Never happened with my old router.
When surfing the internet, pages will refuse to load. The connection bars shown at the bottom right hand corner of my computer display a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. This goes away on its own after about 4-5 minutes.

These problems come randomly every 3-4 or days, maybe a bit longer. Is there any way I can fix these issues?

Thank You to anyone who answers!

Hi, i am a newbie when it comes to Windows networking particularly Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). A week ago i turned my Win 7 HP Laptop into wireless router which is on EVDO 3G dial up using the windows (ICS) to connect my second Win 7 Dell laptop which was successful.
Unfortunately, i ran out of data and now that i have recharged my Evdo 3G dial up modem hoping to continue browsing on both laptops, the Dell laptop which in this case is the client is showing connection signal but each time i tried to connect, this error will come up- Access type : No Internet access along with the dreaded yellow triangle alert on the system tray.

Although when i plug the modem directly to the Dell laptop, it does browse smoothly.

I have Google and read almost everything concerning this online including this forum but i have not come across a solution that is peculiar to mine.

Please what can i do to resolve this challenge?

PS: I have disabled both Windows firewall and AVG still the lack of connection still remains.

Answer:Dial Up ICS Error:Access Type No Internet Access With Yellow Triangle

Please someone should try to assist and if i need to offer more information let me know.
Thanks

Start off by replacing the motherboard batteries on both because they're probably dead.

Power off, unplug
Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
Open case, remove battery (see each model's service manual on Dell's Support site for details)
Press/hold power button for ~30 sec
Install fresh 3-volt CR2032 lithium ion battery (~$2)
Close case and try to boot with only mouse, monitor and keyboard connected

Question: Yellow Triangle

I teach Math?s so my networking knowledge is very basicThe ICT tech has wired the room in cat5 (from each of the 20 machines back to a 3 com 24 port switch) The internet will be provided by a BT business hub and internet package (the phone line has still to be put in) so no broadband router yet.The tech connected all the pc?s (XP pro) to the 3 com switch today and each machine has the yellow triangle (limited or no connectivity) on the network icon.I would be most grateful of you could answer the below questions 1. Why is this message appearing (is it something to do with the ip address)2. When the BT broadband router comes and is installed into the switch will this limited or no connectivity error disappear. (Can you explain why??)3. If say hypothetical they just wanted the room for just sharing files and printing and no Internet is it possible to remove this error.Once again I would appreciate any info on the above. It might seem very simple to you but any insight would be great.RegardsDiarmuid

Answer:Yellow Triangle

there is, or there's going to be a central network server?Or are the computers simply going to share a broadband internet service? If you can supply a little more information I'll try to answer your questions.

I keep getting a little yellow triangle with a ! on it in the lower right hand corner of the screen by the clock. Every few minutes while I on the internet, I will hear a "pop" sound and it will show up. I have tried right-clicking on it and left-clicking on it, and when I do, it will just disappear. Also, when I put the cursor on it, it won't even tell me what it is, as with the other icons on that task bar.

HELP! I have run a partial virus/spyware scan and it came up clean. I am now running a scan on ALL files, and am now waiting for that to be completed.

My husband installed a wireless router this weekend (for use with our laptop and our Wii), and also installed software from our internet provider that is supposed to upgrade our service to make it faster. Could either one of these be the cause?

TIA.

If you can get us a screenshot of it, that might help

Hello, I am new to the forum. I have been spending this week updating my laptop. I have seen improvment but one. While I am applying for jobs on a particular site, after checking the appropriate boxes I get an exclamation point in a yellow triangle asking me to make a selection. Even though I have done that several times, it's just not recognizing that I have checked these boxes. When I look into tools of browser & click on error console there are several items pertaining to fonts, etc. on this site. so I cannot complete the job application process.

What can I do/or you can help me step by step so that I can use this site? Thanks.

Answer:! in yellow triangle

can you post a link - is it always the same type of link - which selections are causing issues - it may be the site rather than you , what web browser are you using ?

Hi

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which we would have had you run last time you had malware infection as they are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
Bitdefender - from step 6
Panda Scan - from step 6
runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require tha... Read more

The website pcidatabase.com let's you look up unknown hardware. Based on what you posted, it seems to be an Nvidia nForce System Management Controller. I'm taking this to mean you have an Nvidia-based motherboard. There is likely a driver available for this on your motherboard's website. If Windows update doesn't find it, go there and download the driver.

It's an add from some malware you have installed.

Download HijackThis from this link:

Click the downloaded file. It will extract to Program Files\HijackThis. Run it from that location and copy the log. Paste it here for analysis.

Hello it seems that whenever I launch a 3d application for longer then 10 minutes I get a black exclamation point encased in a yellow triangle. First however, within my application the entire screen would flash on and off then it would stop responding.

With the information I could find before posting on this forum it seems to be a virus of some kind that nod32 and SuperAntiSpyware were unable to remove. Of course there also seems to be a windows error with this same picture, however it gave me no clue as to why it was there.

Also note: Ever since I installed service pack 1 Windows Defender and Windows Mail have DLL errors, (Mpclient not found for Windows Defender) (MSOE not found for Windows Mail) however both .dll files are still in their respective folder.

Heres my Hijack this log, thanks in advance.

Hello, I am having problems with a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark in it popping up in my task bar next to the clock. I was trying to go to MSN website and fire fox said it could not find the address. That is when I noticed the yellow triangle. Friday night my wife had an ad pop up saying your computer is infected click here to fond out how to clean it. I figured it was adware so I ran my Avast virus scan and it found a couple viruses that it quarantined. That happened Friday and today is the first time I have seen the yellow triangle.
I am running WinXP SP2 (tried downloading SP3 but it kept dying in the middle of download), use fire fox except when doing updates for microsoft ( I use IE8 for that). Here is the log I got from Hijack This. If any more info is needed let me know. And thank you very much.

I live in the Philippines out in the country away from the city because of location have to use broadband internet.    Up till a couple weeks ago it was not all that bad and especially during off peak hours, early morning.

The signal is not all that good and I installed an 850-2100 MhZ signal booster, really helped and eliminated several problems.

All of a sudden unable to connect to the internet during day time hours.  I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and no internet access.  Signal strength is above 90%, good strong signal but no access.  During off peak hours, midnight to 8 or 9 AM there is no connection problem and for here it's fast.

I have tried a different laptop and also a differnet USB modem, new SIM card and have the same results, no internet access during peak hours.

Have a paper trail at least a mile long to the internet provider and their response is always the same thing......"We are sorry for your inconvenience and have forwarded your problem to our technical team."  Biggest problem is "THEY"  are the only game in town!!!!  No choice, tried the competition and the connections is so slow that it is not usable.

Can anyone offer suggestions for sloving this problem.

I am 70 years old and retired, the internet is my link to the outside world and am tired of getting up at 2AM to get online!!!!

thanx,

LRAYT

I am not sure this will work but see if changing your DNS servers to OpenDNS or Google DNS solves the problem. Write down any current DNS servers addresses in case you need to revert. Remember to flush your DNS and browser caches.

Ok, I'm new so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Anyways recently over the past few days I've noticed two flashing triangles in the taskbar. One just flashes and randomly puts up that balloon trying to make me download programs. The other changes between a yellow triangle and a blue spikey ball, also popping up balloons. My homepage has also changed, it keeps blocking off certain webpages that I frequently visit (like my email inbox and one of my forums), it brings up lots of popups, and the classic: my computer has slowed down tremendously. I noticed I had a lot of programs (my dad downloaded them while I was out *sigh*) like PestTrap, Virus-Bursters, WinAntiVirus Pro 2006, that were the cause most probably. I followed instructions and went into safe mode etc. I managed to get rid of them all (or what I know of) except WinAntiVirus Pro 2006. It's currently sitting in my Control Panel refusing to uninstall. Still I'm getting all the symptoms from before (though I think it's gotten worse) so I'm not sure if the other programs have actually gone. I ran HijackThis and these are the results I got. Please help.

Quote:

Right click on the system tray or taskbar, click "properties" then click "customize" then look for "Past Items" you should see your Yellow Triangle with an explanation beside it.

Check Device Manager, click "show hidden devices" and report any flagged devices here.

How much free space do you have left on your HD ?

Check for BIOS update.

There seems to be a BUNCH of possible causes, but it seems also that the consensus is that this is a serious problem that should be investigated.

If none of the above is useful, I'd start searching from here:

Good afternoon,

Pop-up after pop-up after pop-up.....annoying to say the least. I clicked to install ActiveX the other day and now I am getting a yellow triangle with an "!" inside of it. It keeps telling me that my computer is infected with a Trojan. When I click it it takes over my msn.com-directed homepage on IE and replaces it with some random Anti Virus "fix" site.

I am not advanced with code, I would consider myself an Intermediate computer user. Also, I do not have the funds to purchase software online to make these fixes...so "free" is my friend right now.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

Matt

This is not the yellow triangle in the taskbar. When my antivirus attempts to load, i get a dialog box with yellow triangle and a exclamation point in it, with no text. I attempted to format my drive, which did not resolve the issue. I attempted to use the DDS thing to get all my processes, but I guess it does not support vista 64. No amount of google searching has helped me so far... Hopefully someone is able to help me out. Thanks a lot for your time. Here is a ss of the error box. I get it when i try to turn on Mcafee antivirus.

Hi
I don't know if this is a software related issue, but here goes. I've suddenly been getting a small yellow warning triangle popping up in my taskbar. If I click on it, either right or left, it just disappears and won't lead me anywhere or offer information etc - not very helpful. It then reappears pretty quickly and just sits there. What is going on & where should I look for more information?
Thanks

Answer:Yellow warning triangle

It might be worth paying a visit the the malware forum to make sure it's not a malware problem.

Posting for a friend, who has a virus that puts the yellow triangle with an exclamation point on the toolbar, warning of viruses. It slows down the computer significantly, and makes browsers almost unusable. AVG has said that there could be upwards of nine trojans, and healing does nothing, vaulting asks to make sure you wish to force it. I told her not to, as the virus could be on a system file. Anyways, here's the log, thanks for the help:

i have been getting a yellow triangle appearing in my toolbar the last few months. it stays for a couple of minutes then disappears. while it is there the other toolbar icons do not display their names when i hover over them.
i have not left-clicked the triangle at all.
the only malware detected by AVG recently was a false positive trojan.
i enclose a picture of the toolbar complete with yellow triangle.

what will happen if i leave it ?
also is it safe to use the Combifix program as i have read several reports that it may contain rootkits ?

OS: Windows Vista home premium 32-bitEvery so often whilst running applications (games mainly) the program appears to freeze, and the sound will play in a 'broken loop' for a few seconds (i.e. repeat the same part over and over). The screen will then go black, and after a few more seconds the program will be back to normal (Unless it's an online game in which case the game's protection shield will close it down). After this a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark appears in the notification area of the task bar. Clicking it does nothing/opens no menus. In the 'customize notification items' window it is called "".I've read around for help with this and tried;- uninstalling all Adobe products- checking for any suspicious processes in the task manager (though to be honest, I'm not sure what I'm looking for)- Running scans using AVG anti-virus, AVG anti-spyware and SUPERantispyware- Running SmitFraudFix.exe as detailed hereI've uploaded a picture of the triangle hereI'm a technical newb, so if you're kind enough to help, please be patient with me! ^^;Thanks

Answer:Yellow Triangle On Task Bar

My experience of this has only been on XP but the only time I have ever seen an exclamation triangle in the taskbar is when I've run out of RAM for the system or graphics card (graphics cards only in certain configs). Windows may be increasing your page file on your hard drive and shifting some stuff on to it, which could be causing running programs to freeze momentarily.
Is your graphics card dedicated or shared?
How much RAM do you have?
The default pagefile setting is "Let windows define my page file size" You could try setting this to a manual setting, possibly about 1gb.

Hope this helps!

Answer:how do i get rid of the yellow triangle with ! in the middle ??

Right-click it or mouse-over it and see what it says... Probably a display or internet problem... If you just want to sugar coat the problem, you could right-click the taskbar, and change the options so that icon is always hidden. If you're using Win XP, it should be in the XP, not Vista, forum.

Hello. I am working on a company computer that someone got a virus on. At the time there was no antivirus software in use. After the issue came up, someone tried to install Symantec Antivirus 9.0 corporate, but screwed up the install, and now I can't remove it because of a corrupt install. I tried to follow the symantec web page for how to remove it manually from the registry, but that failed. So, i am unable to install any other virus software at this time other than norton system works, which is crap, and did not find any problems. As with the flashing triangle, comes an array of pop-ups and a slow computer. Also, half the time when i start the computer, explorer fails to load, and I have to manually launch it from the taskbar menu to get it running. Here is the hi-jack this log AND an online virus scan from Kaspersky. If anyone has any help or ideas, please let me know. Thanks again in advance for any help you can offer. Hi guys,

I have just noticed these 2 icons on ''My Computer'' page. A yellow triangle and a green circle.

I'm happy with the green circle, but the yellow triangle is annoying me.

I've had a look in device manager but no problems there, I've also looked in event viewer for errors but there is nothing wrong there either.

Any help would be great.

TIA

Answer:Yellow exclamation triangle

You could run a chkdsk /r as an administrator from the cmd prompt, but have a look in Action Center to see if anything is flagged.

Have you been using any tune-up programs or registry cleaners ?

one pop up is a window with the title: Windows Internet Explorer
[email protected] is a virus that infects with .exe extentions.
(I never do, I know better) it then goes on to say it steals passwords and private info.
the other thing is the yellow triangle in the start button icon bar on right side at the bottom of the screen, blinking on and off, I click it to see what it says it states: bestseller antivirus installer, that is the title, under that
it states: please click continue to protect your pc against viruses, identity theft, spying, and unauthorized downloads. by clicking continue button, you are accepting our terms and conditions. the words: terms and conditions is a link in blue. then at the bottom. it has a continue button. I just click the X button at the top to close it.
One more thing is 2 two Icons i keep deleting and they keep coming back. they are as states: "Online Security Guide" and the other one is "Live Safety Center" Keep trying to get rid of them and can find where they are seated, when I run regedit. hi there

I am working on a laptop and ever since it got the virus I have had the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it and the wireless internet doesnt seem to want to connect anymore. I search around for ways to fix this and i found out about smitfraudfix and used it and now the yellow triangle is gone. But the internet still doesnt work. I installed Bitdefender Antivirus and removed the trojan that it found but it seems like the computer is still hot since it has been an abnormal amount of trojan trying to get in.

I have included the HJT log and Smitfraudfix log of after the removal of the yellow triangle. PLZ help and thx.

After reviwing several discussions on this topic, and trying various recommendations, I am still stuck. No anti-cirus or spyware program is picking it up, and I am left to ask a question. :-) Kaspersky has been able to "block" the events, but some still come thru. Some errors I get are explorer.exe is trying to connect to the internet, there is a keylogger, and some other random events attached to main processes. Also, Kaspersky shows something about "invader (loader" is trying to change files. Here is my hijack this log. If anyone could help, I would ppreciate it greatly. Answer:Yellow Triangle In Taskbar With Pop Up

In addition, another messege that comes up is c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe is trying to inject other programs. It is listed as riskware, and I keep denying the action. Also, i know that something with the vmcgypjf.dll is a virus, I just can't get rid of it. I'll fix it in hi-jack and then it just reappears. I'm just trying to give as much info as possible. Also, i ran spybot SandD, and it found nothing.

Answer:Exclamation mark in yellow triangle

Was there a yellow tri/exclamation mark in the pic from your link? I couldn't see one. A yellow triangle w/ a exclamation make is Windows way of telling you there is a problem with the devices it's with.

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Basically, last week I bought this laptop
And I started off working fine until a few days ago when my internet went off. The wifi logo has a little yellow triangle warning sign next to it and it says Limited. I started off by resetting my wifi but that didn't work then I tried connecting to my iPhone hotspot and that didn't work either and was also saying Limited!! It's obviously not the wifi but the laptop that is the problem.
How can I fix this???
Please help!!!!!!

Answer:ifi logo has a little yellow triangle warning

Did your router reset when your Internet went off? Try turning on the "download over metered connections option"

Alternatively rigjt click your wireless symbol amd select the repair /check for problems option it may fix itself

Answer:Kaspersky yellow triangle icon

This is a known bug, sometimes occurs after deleting malware... Notification Center shows as green and everything ok, but K icon in Windows Task bar still shows yellow triangle...

Possible solutions for now:

1.- Uninstall and reinstall (annoying and radical).

2.- Just wait, some times after some days or a few weeks, usually K icon gets normal again.

A couple of weeks ago I began receiving a triangular error message on my desktop with various messages reporting spyware or suspicious files on my system and offering a free scan. When I click the triangle I am directed to at least 3 different sites all advertising anti-spyware software. Also, when I use Google and click on a lick a blank page is loaded or I am taken to another search engine website. I get between 2 and 4 of these error messages per day and usually when I open Internet Explorer and occasionally when I open Windows Explorer. I have used both AVG and Spybot but neither detected or solved the problem. Also, after running Hijack This I noticed a file in the system32 folder called dmserve.dll which when I hover the cursor over gives no info other than the file name and creation date and does not seem to be a Microsoft file nor has any connection with disk management I aslo get the same result when I right click for properties. I have been unble to delete this file and its registry entry in both normal and safe mode. The file was created around the time that the problems began I have since found out that dmserve.dll is a trojan but have been unable to find any information with regards to its removal and my AV program (nod32) does not even detect its presence. I have downloaded and installed 3 apps on or just prior to the problem starting 2 of which were cracked. All 3 have since been removed.

Occasionally in my taskbar a small yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middles will appear. I can hover my cursor over it and nothing shows up, I can click (left or right,) on it and nothing will happen. Its as if it doesn't even exist. I have not noticed anything wrong with the system. The triangle does not flash or anything. i don't know if its a program I run that triggers this or what causes it to come. The only way I have found to get it to go away is to restart. After restart, it could be a few days before it returns. I am running AVG 8.5.424 with all updates and it has found nothing. Also running SpyHunter version 3.7.19 with all definitions up to date and it finds nothing. I am also including a photo so you can see the triangle for yourself. Please help.

i have the following problem: I have the problem with the yellow triangle saying about slow performance. I also have the following problems:

1) Ballons saying about different viruses, black trojans, slow system performance etc. If you click on them then you get to purchase a security software
2) "Security toolbar" in IE
3) IE pop-ups very frequently

I have used smitfraud fix in safe mode
I have also downloaded other security programs, one of which found a vundo trojan. I used a vundo trojan remover which found and removed the trojan.
I have also updated and run Norton Antivirus which one of the times found a downloader trojan. According to Norton this is a virus that downloads trojans from the internet!! The solution from Norton was restart in safe mode, scan and then correct the problem. I restarted in safe mode, scanned but
Norton found nothing!!

The ballons and the yellow triangle are still there!!

Please help me. I am one step before formatting the PC. Thanks
