Preferred Solution: No device Drivers found when installing Win 7 on USB!!!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Im not sure what you're trying to do but I will give it a shot..

If you are trying to actually install Windows 7 ON a USB, you can follow a tutorial such as this: 47 - How to install Windows Vista/7/SVR2K8 onto a USB drive (or any partition) - RMPrepUSB

Hello all, I am trying to install Windows 7 on the following desktop PC:

Intel Core i3 Processor i3-530
2048MB DDR3
500GB 3G Hard Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4350 Graphics
Supermulti Drive with LightScribe Technology

First, I will start by saying that when I turn on my PC, I receive this message on a black screen "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key". When I press a key, nothing changes, i.e. still stuck on the same screen.

So, I decided to install Windows 7.

When I tried installing Windows 7, it would begin the installation process... I clicked "Install Now", then when given the options between "Upgrade" or 'Custom (Advanced)', I selected the Custom Advanced.

When asked 'Where you would like to install Windows?' (see screenshot #1.jpg), there was nothing shown in the box, i.e. there is no hard drive or partition for me to select where I can install Windows. So just to try, I clicked "Load Driver".

It prompted me to install a device driver. I clicked Browse and browsed through the existing drives. (see Screenshot #2.jpg)

Next, it showed me that 'No device drivers were found..." (see Screenshot #3.jpg)

I tried to google on how to find the drivers to install but to no avail.

Any ideas on how I should proceed from here? i.e. How to install the device drivers needed to continue the installation process etc.

Thanks!

I recently bought an Acer Aspire 4750G with no Windows pre-installed (i.e DOS).

I downloaded Windows 7 x64 Professional Edition .iso from the official MSDNAA website. I used Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (run on Windows XP SP3) to create a bootable USB flashdisk (Sandisk Cruzer Blade 8.0GB). Note that the file format of the flashdisk is turned to NTFS.

Next, i inserted the flashdisk into the USB3.0 port of my 4750G, when into BIOS and changed the boot priority to USB HDD - Sandisk Cruzer Blade.
As usual, I saved the changes, exited the BIOS and reboot. Also note that the initial mode is AHCI.

Booting from flashdisk is successful. I was able to enter the setup. The first screen prompts to select country and keyboard. The next screen shows the button "Install Now".
When I clicked this button, the setup does not lead me to the License Agreement screen. Instead, it displays the following message:

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now
There is a Browse and Rescan button at the bottom.

I had previously downloaded every driver for my Acer Aspire 4750G, hence i extracted those in .zip and copied them into the same flashdisk and restarted the setup again.
When the No Device Driver screen appeared, I clicked on the "Browse" button and tried to navigate to the driver folders inside the flashdisk. But I cannot find them, because the directory of the bootable US... Read more

First of all, this is my first post on this forum. (Hurray!) Only because most computer related issues I can fix myself with the help of the internet. However after trying to fix this for about 2 days now this is my last resort. Before you ask yes I have HUNTED through the internet trying to fix the issue, but most of the fixes are only specific to their computer so I've decided making a new thread would be the only other option.

So after finally getting sick of Windows Vista, I wanted to upgrade so I bought and downloaded the Windows 7 x32 .iso file and burned it at the lowest speed possible twice; once using ImgBurn, and once using InfraRecorder, after recieving the error the first time. From there I shut down my computer and rebooted it, and booted from the Windows 7 install disk. The installer then opens up and everything till I get to the language screen, where I pick my language (English US or just English, from memory.) Time and date location (English New Zealand) and default for the other (cannot remember that). From there it takes me to the next screen, where a pop up saying 'No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click ok.' pops up with three options, Ok, Cancel and Browse. From there I pretty much have to find my driver updates to continue, but it does not specify what driver I need at all and I have no idea what to do.

So far I have tried all of the solutions provided in this post, except for th... Read more

Hi there,

As per the title:
I have the samsung NVME driver on a USB stick, the Win7 installer can see the stick and the other driver subfolders on the stick (nvme driver on root).
But, the installer finds nothing on the stick on a scan, and displays no driver on a manual search, and recognises no drivers if i simply point it at the stick an accept.

I simply get a error message from the "Load Driver" popup:
"No signed device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
USB drive is formatted as vFAT (32?).
Tried both EUFI and normal boot from DVD drive.

Suggestions?

Post your motherboard model and hard drive interface. It may be a problem with an unsupported chipset. You might have to copy the appropriate drivers to a CD/floppy/USB flash drive to use during setup.

For six months or so, I've had a problem where my laptop's audio will stop working. The red "X" appears over the volume icon in the system tray and audio will not function whatsoever. Until now, rebooting has been 99% successful at restoring the audio until it eventually fails again. But in the last three days, my normal quick fix no longer does the trick. Apparently my laptop can no longer find the actual Conexant 20672 SmartAudio HD hardware on the motherboard. This is a T520 laptop running Win 7 with SP1. The T520 is roughly six years old, so I realize the hardware's age might be a factor. There are definitely other issues related to its age (general performance sluggishness, inability to wake up from sleep mode, backup no longer works correctly) and I will eventually have to replace the laptop. But in the meantime, solving this persistent audio issue will buy me at least a few more months, so it's worth fixing to me. I've found dozens of threads that suggest reinstalling the device drivers, which of course I have tried several times using the drivers here. The problem: After rebooting, the device manager still doesn't list any playback device ("No audio devices are installed") even with both "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" checked. Similarly, when I run the 8aad14ww.exe device installer, it terminates with an error message ("Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the device for this driver").  Has the hardware itself ac... Hey guys.
Im running a compaq v6000
It restarts after the compaq screen loads up with the bios options, and keeps doing that.

I popped in a vista oem cd to reboot but it says:

"!no drivers were found. Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"
After Loading it says "no device drivers were found. make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK"
When I go into the bios menu (phoenixBIOS (V)f.27) and run a "Primary hard disk self test" it shows that, in the test status: No IDE Device.

I've set the first boot order to my atapi cd/dvd ROM drive.
But no dice.

Helpful hints and suggestions super welcome, thanks in advance.

Hi, I bought a Medion Akoya E5211 laptop 2 years ago which had Basic Windows Vista pre-installed on it; but I dropped the laptop and the operating system got wiped. I put the recovery disc in the laptop; but the disc does not reinstall Windows. I bought a Basic Windows Vista installation disc; but I am unable to install it.

I have to attempt to install in 'custom' because 'upgrade' has been disabled. I am asked 'where do you want to install Windows?' Though, I am told 'no drives were found'. 'Refresh' does nothing. When I 'load driver', I am asked to 'install the device driver needed to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files, and then click OK'; but the installation CD is in the laptop. I think the CD works. It is new and I am asked to type the product key when I first put the disc in the laptop. Anyway, when I click on 'Ok', I am told that 'no device drivers were found'. Nothing changes when I untick 'hide drivers that are not compatible with hardware on this computer'. The screen remains blank. If I 'browse', then a box appears with 'computer', 'CD drive (D:) FRMCFRE-EN-DVD' and 'Boot (X:)' in it. The error in the quote means that the computer could not find the Hard Disk Drive and that it tried to boot from the network cable. If you dropped your laptop you probably have damaged the HDD. And your laptop cannot find your HDD to instal to.
You can test this theory by pulling the HDD out of the computer and mounting it on another computer as a Slave drive or attaching it with a USB Adapter. If it doesn't power up, you know that the drive needs to be replaced.

Answer:No device drivers found

You appear to have physically broken the harddrive when you dropped it. Or at best the connection cable to it has shook loose.
If it's broken you will have to buy a new harddrive to replace it.
May I suggest if you do not know how to go about this then you take it to a little local shop for them to do and they will also test your harddrive to see if any data can be recovered. It will prob cost about 60 - 80 to repair plus the cost of a new harddrive if needed.

Hey guys, an issue I've been struggling with all evening here.

Today I upgraded this box from onboard graphics to a Nvidia Geforce GT 430 and also installed the 260.99 graphics drivers from the main Nvidia site.

the motherboard is from the Foxconn G31MX series of boards (775 chipset).

The OS is Windows 7 Professional

After installing the new graphics card and drivers, my sound device was replaced with a non-functional Nvidia HD audio device, I have uninstalled this and installed the windows 7 drivers from foxconns support site.

Still no audio device !

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Peoplearenuts Welcome to the Forums
I don't want to say this but you didn't need to buy win8.1 to get 10; you can install windows 10 for free if you have 7.
But since you bought it lets work on it.

So the first thing to do is not to do a clean install; you want to upgrade the PC threw the desktop
it will automatically assign the HDD based on what your upgrading.

Please don't fell bad about this we all make mistakes; believe me I have made some big ones
Also I have had that problem too so this should help you out

Hi,
I have a little problem with my custom USB device. I think it has something to do with Vista installation routines... So here are the steps that describe the problem. I install drivers for my device on Vista and than plug in the device. I go through all the wizards that windows suggests but Vista can't find a proper driver.Than i goto to my Control panel, find the device and do the "Refresh driver" directly pointing to the place where drivers have been installed. And than everything goes fine. So the trouble is Vista can't find proper drivers when i plug in the USB device. What could possibly go wrong? The same works perfectly on XP. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Revenge_one, welcome to TSF...

the next time you get the driver installation box pop up, try to direct the installer to the following location please:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository

Ensure the box is checked to include sub-folders and that may solve the problem.

If not, feel free to let us know

I am having problem with installation Windows 7 on my new Lenovo G50-80. I downloaded legit ISO and created bootable USB.

The error I am getting is this: Installation error from USB: No device drivers were found

Tried different methods from Rufus, Microsoft USB tool, Ultra ISO etc. Different copies of Windows 7 - Ultimate and Home Premium.

Tried to boot same USB from my desktop PC and it works fine.

How could I resolve my problem and finally install Windows 7?

Here is the Bios settings (I tried to change from Windows 8 to Other OS in BIOS, but still no success):

Answer:Installation error from USB: No device drivers were found

I am reinstalling windows 7 on my laptop. Installing windows is not a new thing for me, as i have done this for a number of times on different laptops. But now, I encountered an error that I never have encountered before.

I made a bootable flash drive and copied all the contents of the iso to it (I have used the same iso since the first time i learned installing windows, so iso should not be the problem). Now, I restarted my laptop and booted it from the flash drive. It then showed the window with the button "install now". I clicked it and the error appeared saying:

"No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK"
"Load Driver
A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

I believe i have done nothing wrong in my installation process, from making the bootable flash drive to booting from it.

My laptop:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.120830-0334)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
System Model: K43SA
BIOS: BIOS Date: 09/26/11 14:41:34 Ver: 04.06.03
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM

Answer:Installation error from USB: No device drivers were found

The error almost always means its a bad installer. Use the ISO for your licensed version from Step 1 written to stick using tool in step 2, then closely follow the other steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which are same for retail.

Hello all, I recently built a desktop so that I could play SWTOR, all the parts were salvaged from other computers, but they are all working and compatible, to the best of my knowledge, except for the hard drive, which was broken, so I went out and bought a Western Digital 1 TB hard drive and a new copy of Windows 7 Home Edition.

When I got home I plugged the hard drive, a SATA drive, in and popped the install disk in, only right after I got to the "Install Now" button and clicked it did I get this message;

No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK

Followed by;

A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

I know that all the required parts are in the computer, yet I can't seem to figure out how to solve this, any help at all would be appreciated.

So, as @karlsnooks and @golden had said, I downloaded an ISO file from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River ? My Digital Life.
And using a Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool, I burned it into a USB stick.
Now, when I boot from it, I get to the Window home screen, and when I proceed, I get this message:

"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step." <Browse> <OK> <Cancel>

When I browse and point it to the Boot folder, this message comes:

No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click OK.

I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. What I'm planning to do is FORMAT my whole PC and do a custom install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 again.

Answer:Installation From USB Fails - No Device Drivers Found.

Where did you get Ultimate? How do you plan to activate it?

The error is always a problem with the installer as obviously the USB stick needs no DVD driver. Try writing the confirmed ISO to stick using Universal USB Installer to compare what happens.

Hello! I am currently trying to install windows 7 onto my laptop. I had recently used a program called DBAN to completely wipe my computer, and that involved windows 7. I'm using a USB flashdrive with the windows 7 .ISO file on it. I had successfully started the installation process when I booted the USB drive, but when I was prompted to 'Select the Driver to be installed', the program couldn't locate any drivers. Please note that I am using a Inspiron 1545 laptop and installing the 64-bit versions of windows. Please help me!

Answer:Windows 7 installation error: 'No device drivers were found.'

Where did you get the Win 7 iso? What program did you use to create the flash drive?

So I have an old laptop running Win7 professional x64 SP1. I downloaded X17-59186.iso and made sure the MD5 and SHA-1 checksums matched which they do.

Properly formatted my USB drive etc. When I boot from USB and choose `install now` however I get the load driver window error:

Also if I try and choose "repair your computer" (at the previous step, rather than trying to install windows) I get an error message saying "This version of system recovery options is not compatible with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows."

This makes it sound like I have the wrong ISO even though in system information it is definitely running win7 Pro x64.

What is most confusing is that if I use this same bootable USB on my other laptop (running win7 home x64) it works fine, neither of these errors occur.

Also I read something about trying USB2.0/3.0 ports, neither will work.

Any help is very much appreciated, thanks!

This is going to be difficult since I am the middle man here, but here it goes.

A few months ago I sent my friend a Windows 7 DVD for his new computer that he built, and everything went fine. Earlier this week he was building another one, using the same HDD and disk and he kept getting errors that are still unresolved. He formatted his old HDD and still didnt work, and also got a new 320 GB hdd and same problems. He cant even get Ubuntu to install. ive searched for a few hours and couldn't find a similar problem or solution. The exact error message is "No signed drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains all the correct drivers and then click ok." Sometimes he got an error 0x8030001, not quite sure what he did to get that. Anybody have any idea about what to do?

So i was helping out my friend install windows 7, he wanted to completely get rid of windows vista, and install windows 7. So he inserted the install disk, booted the computer from the disk and went into custom install. He selected the main partition out of the 3 visible drives, and i believe he clicked on format before he continued, which warned him that it would wipe his computer clean, i think thats what screwed everything up. After what seemed like a successful install, the computer would start up and the screen would turn blue and then shut off. After trying to restart several times with no signs of improvement, we decided to retry re-installing windows 7. But this time when it came down to selecting the partition, no options were available. There's an option to "load driver", but when i tried installing it all it gave me was a "no drivers found" error message. I tried doing system recovery, but every attempt to fix the computer, some error similar to the no drivers found, would pop up. I'm afraid that something important got deleted, like some driver specific to the computers model, thats required to read the hard disk. Either way i'm clueless as to how to approach this problem.
Right now it has no operating system.

The computer is a Toshiba Satellite
if anyone knows how to fix this, help would be greatly appreciated

Answer:Installing windows 7 no drivers found

You probably need to find the SATA controller driver for your computer. You can usually load it via a floppy or usb flash drive (depends on your computer).

Another option is to enter your computer's BIOS setup utility and change the SATA controller mode from native SATA to IDE emulation. Again, not all computers support this function, you should check the manual for details (look for anything related to SATA, PATA/EIDE/IDE, AHCI).

Of some reason, Windows 2000 have just stoped recognizing ANY drivers for non-plug and play devices. A few months ago, I installed drivers for a rather special ISA-card called the Catweasel. It worked fine and the drivers have worked since that time. However, some new drivers was recently released, but Windows 2000 just refuse to notice them. I've uninstalled the old drivers and even tried to reinstall the old ones (which I successfully installed a few months ago), but without success.

I've placed the drivers on a floppy and in a directory on my harddrive. But no matter what I try, Windows just complain with something like "no hardware information found at the given location" (freely translated from Swedish, yes, I'm using the Swedish edition of Windows 2000). The drivers consist of some .INF-files and .sys-files. I've even tried to right-click the .INF-files and select install, it doesn't help. I've tried typing the path manually or choosing it using the requester (add device - select hardware from list - disk available).

I've got SP3 installed as well as any security updates release since SP3. My only idea is that SP3 (which I think was installed after the Catweasel-drivers) have screwed something up.

The author of the drivers have had similar problems and had to reinstall Windows to fix it, something I'd like to avoid if possible.

Any suggestions?

Answer:Installing device drivers

I have a suggestion. Did you remove the Catweasel from the hardware list in Device Manager? I would remove the card completely (take it out of the machine also) and boot to Windows. Then shut down and install the card, let Windows find it and then point it to the new drivers (or old) that you have.

Hello there
I know that most updates can be installed manually by issuing the command pkgmgr /ip /m:filename.cab.
In the recommended updates section, there are 2 updated drivers for my soundcard and video card.
if I download the cab file manually and try to install it using this method, it won't work.
Next I tried extracting the cab file using winrar and installing the driver via the device manager. The driver installed correctly, but when I next went to check for updates, it still showed the driver in the list of optional updates.
Is there a correct way of installing the driver manually?
Thanks.

Answer:installing device drivers manually?

Why are you doing it like that ?

Just download the correct most recent drivers and install them, that`s what I consider manual.

Depending on the card, you should be getting the video drivers directly from nvidia or amd

An Intel driver for the graphics on a cpu can be done using windows update.

You should have your windows update set to give updated drivers. If you did not have it set. You can use this manual method. Use 7/08 as the cutoff. Older than than it may be outdated. Try to update it.

Hi,

I reformatted my Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop yesterday and did a clean install of the Vista Home Basic 64 bit OS. Next, I need to install the drivers, but I'm not sure which ones are already installed and which ones I need to install off the Drivers and Utilities CD or the Dell website.

When I put in the Drivers and Utilities CD, it showed a list of drivers on the CD and tickmarks next to a few drivers which meant that it scanned these devices existed on my laptop. So I installed the three drivers which showed the tickmarks - ATI graphics, WLAN, and Bluetooth.

The rest of the drivers don't have tickmarks on them. So I'm not sure if they match my laptop or not, and whether I should install or not. I mean, my little manual says I have IDT 92HD81 audio, but on the CD and website (under my service tag) it gives the number as IDT 92HD71B. Can I install this even though the number is different?

Second question - do I need to install chipset, network, camera, touchpad, and other drivers too? How do I know what to install and whats already installed?

Please help, I'm really confused.

Answer:Please help me with installing Dell device drivers after a reformat

Windows will install drivers for devices it supports by itself. So in addition you will need the drivers for the devices Windows Vista does not support, or for which the manufacturer has a better driver than the Vista driver.
The easiest way to decide which ones are still required is to look at the device manager, and look for devices that show an error, or that are listed in the "Other devices" category.
By checking the hardware ID or device description, you can determine which devices are involved.
You can also use software, like a driver finder program, which scan your computer hardware and show drivers that are either missing or out-dated. Those programs are not free though. But you can at least run a free scan and see what is missing

Okay, here's the problem. When i plug in a new usb device, windows is supposed to look for updates to install the device right ? well in my case, it doesn't and i'm not able to access the pendrive. On the other hand, if i try toplug in an old and previously used pen drive, it works perfectly. Need some help/solution please.

Answer:New USB device not installing drivers from windows updates

If the unit is "plug and play", Windows should install it, either from drivers it has or from drivers it will find on line (assuming you are on line when you plug it in).

The first issue, however, is Windows even detecting it? Do you get anything in the notice area about installing? If it's being detected but not installing, with the device connected, go to the Device Manager and display the USB and there will probably be an Unknown Device entry listed which is probably the pendrive. RIGHT click on that entry and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Then unplug the pendrive, restart the PC and after Windows completes its startup, plug the drive in and see if it will now install.

Lenovo Download pages are impressive but useless. There are loads of individual drivers for different chipsets for one model M83. I downloaded the lot and tried installing the lot and PCI serial etc errors still appear in Device ManagerDoes anyone know where I can obtain a proper driver installation CD for my Lenovo M83 ThinkCentre?Motherboard manufacturers in China produce a far better solution to driver installation by letting users download the complete driver installation CDIBM have lost the plotPlease, has anyone got a proper driver installation CD for the Lenovo M83?

Answer:M83 Yellow Exclamations in Device Manager after installing Chipset Drivers

Referencing your particular model number will help identify which drivers you require on the download page.

Once you download the driver file and double click the .exe file, the driver is not installed, only unpacked and placed within the c:\drivers folder. This is standard behavior for Lenovo driver files. Either return to the driver folder and individually install each file, or from the Device Manager update drivers by directing to that driver folder.

You might want to give Thinkvantage System Update a try, (HERE) it will automatically search for and load necessary drivers.

New ASUS Xonar D1 Is Awesome

First: Disregard the title on the forum page. I was going to ask a basic question, but found my answer. I changed the post to a quick review.

A Xonar D1 just replaced my onboard audio, and I'm very impressed. As the Xonar's box says, the sound is much cleaner. The tone color is richer, the separation between instruments is more distinct, and I'm hearing little sounds in my music I don't remember hearing before. I mostly listen to music and haven't tried any games or DVDs, but I have no doubt they too will be a big improvement. It's late, so I'll check out some games and movies later in the weekend and will post an update.

This is really starting to annoy me. My computer has recently been refusing to install device drivers when it says that it found the drivers, but returns the error message "Access denied". I am the administrator on the computer. Surely it should ask for elevated privileges to install device drivers? First, my iPod Nano I had connected to the computer was working fine. Now, whenever I plug it in, it asks me to install device driver software. It already has it!! I click to allow admin priveleges to install the software, but then it returns access denied! Today, I wanted to upload a photo from a Fujifilm Finepix A820 camera. Same thing happened again, even though device drivers where installed. This is driving me crazy, what is going on?

Hi,

I've a samsung with some extra samsung features (samsung update plus, speed up manager, recovery system etc.) and they bug me. Therefore I wanna do a clean installation on my laptop but when I boot up on my USB (works fine) I get the following message "No device drivers were found ..." instead of having access to the partition manager.
I've done a lot of research on my problem but haven't come up with any solutions yet. Does anybody out there know what to do?

Btw., I've tried the to boot other laptops with the USB stick and it works like a charm. I read somewhere that the problem could be that my laptop didn't load the SATA drivers, which is needed for the partition manager, that might be the problem but I don't know where to find the drivers though.
Furthermore I've noticed that I can't see my USB drive when I browse for files only C:/ (system disk), D:/ (primary), E:/ (some recovery disk) and X:/ (boot) and that might be the problem I guess!? Strange this that I boot from the USB stick though

Answer:"No device drivers were found ..." when trying a clean Win7 install

Format the USB stick using Universal USB Installer with Win7 in dropdown menu. Boot under USB, Removable or HD's in one-time BIOS Boot Menu. Set HD to boot first in BIOS setup.

I would first make sure your Samsung Recovery is not set up like in this thread, which is the worst nightmare I've seen here in thousands of successful clean reinstalls. The OEM software didn't work correctly when downloaded from webpage. Samsung claims the apps which work are stored on the Recovery partition which only enables the use of an image user is to save to external or DVD's. However if a small Recov partition is accidentally deleted during reinstall there is no access to this or the Recovery image - ever - and Samsung won't ship Recovery Disks. Apparently the only way to reinstall the Recov partition is if the image is saved to DVD's which will boot and run, but many save it to external instead.

Greetings; my first post.
Had Vista Ultimate; scraped it and loaded Win7 Prof. Awesome OS so far. Installed peripherals, no problem. Printer installed fine, works fine. Wanted to share it on home network. Attempted to load Canon MP970 onto network and rec'd install error with missing driver. Windows found driver at Intel (IPMI & PCI Serial Port), it downloaded but failed to install. I still see the warning icon by Other Devices and cannot identify the devices. I've attached screen shots of the sequence and Intel driver download name. The attachment is in 7-Zip format. What are these devices. How can I update the drivers for these unknown devices? Everything else works fine.

Thank you.

Answer:New Win7 Install; Device Manager "Other Devices" drivers not found problem

The fact that W7 had no drivers for the unknown devices during installation is going to be problematic, most likely it means there are no compatible drivers available.

See if this helps

Hello,
There are numerous threads with the same issue online, but none of the solutions have worked for me, so I'm posting my own. I did contact Microsoft and Lenovo, but Lenovo is asking for money that I can't afford for tech support, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
Here's the situation:
I have a Lenovo Y510P that came with Windows 8.1. Half a year later, I'm sick of 8.1 and want to downgrade to Windows 7 (I know that simulation softwares like ClassicShell and such exist, but I would really rather just use Windows 7).
I downloaded a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and burned it onto a DVD disk.
I also downloaded all of the Windows 7 device drivers from this Lenovo site: Laptops and netbooks :: IdeaPad Y Series laptops :: IdeaPad Y510p Notebook - Lenovo Support (US)
^I had to specify the model number and OS, so I'm hoping I downloaded the correct drivers (all of the drivers are .exe format, is that what it's supposed to look like?)
I put all of the drivers onto a flash drive.
So, I am now equipped with a DVD with Windows 7 on it as well as a flash drive with all of the drivers on it.
I boot from the disk with the DVD and flash drive attached. Windows 7 installation begins and here I get the error, 'no device drivers found.' When I click 'browse', I see that the flash drive is recognized, but the files on it aren't.
What do you guys think the issue is??
Best,
anon27

Answer:'No device drivers found' error Windows 8.1 -> Windows 7 downgrade ins

Why would you do all that? Win7 is a driver-complete OS in the installer and via Windows Updates after install. Providing a bunch of drivers is from the XP era.

You only need the wireless driver in your backup so if it isn't provided during reinstall, you can install it to get online, enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3), then run all Important and Optional Windows Updates which should deliver most drivers. I would only import drivers still missing after all rounds of Windows Update are finished.

For a Win8 PC there are special steps that must be taken to disable Secure Boot and enable CSM or Legacy BIOS to Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7. Then when you boot the installer to do the Clean Install Windows 7 delete all partitions using the Drive Options shown in Steps 7 and 8, create and format new as you wish, install to first partition.

Other tips to get and keep a perfect Win7 install are same as for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"

I've spent hours researching this error - Seems like many people have the same issue although there is no difinitive fix or known cause.

I'm hoping someone here has an answer.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM (HP)

This is not an upgraded Vista system.

It's not a specific driver related issue as it's the same response/effect be it graphics/chip set/usb/printer drivers.

Please dont suggest to flatten and re-install or run a repair install - It's not an option, I only have remote access to the unit
as it's currently in field use.

This is a machine specific issue - identical machine purchased at the same time and configured the same has no issue.

So the story.

User has been fine for weeks - no hardware of software changes except Windows Updates.

A Camera/USB connection that was working no longer does.
Tried in all USB ports

Plug in - windows announces found new hardware, tries to install drivers then fails
with "Windows found software for your device but encountered an error installing ...."

Device manager finds and identifies device although it is in the 'Unknown Device" category.

Manually updating drivers via search/internet or point directly at a driver has exactly the same effect.

Thinking this was just the camera drivers - I researched and downloaded new drivers from camera manufacturers sites

Answer:There must be a real solution to "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"

Hi Chris,
This issue occurs due to Driver software path is not specified .
In-place upgrade would be the best choice.
If you would like to fix them one by one, please Locat and install the driver software from the c:\windows\winsxs folder.

Hi!! I've found another interesting bug fix!! I'm surprised i found no other useful material on this error on the internet, when it seems to be a fairly common and annoying error, but here goes:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\Report[any random number here]

In order to recognise which tmp file you should look into, you need to know the CATALOGUE number of the driver you wish to install.

[Guide to finding out the catalogue no.:
Inside of the place where you have your driver setup files (cd, floppy, wherever), locate the .cat file. It should have an icon with several sheets of paper bound with a strip of tape. Windows uses the catalogue file name as the tmp file name. So search through the folders in the above mentioned directory until you find the one with a tmp file by the name of the catalogue file youve located in the steps above]

In here you should find a .tmp file. There will be about 4 files, give or take. Open the .tmp file.

This is the file that will give the REAL solution to your problem:

In this file, windows logs its actions while installing the drivers.

Now here's the magic: Windows cannot find the file specified? Cos Either Windows or your Conexant driver witers is stupid. Either way, if you scroll down to the bottom of this file, and read the last 20 lines or so, you'll realize that windows was actually looking for the file that was missing in a valid folder, but the files werent there.

In my case, the folder was:... Read more

Hi great guys at SevenForums. its me again...and this damn ASUS. anyway, I have attempted to install windows 7 via usb to my system(system specs under profile), but i receive a prompt about device drivers and i cannot continue. The image is an original .iso for windows 7 home premium, downloaded from digital river using a direct download. the usb is a 4Gb transcend. note: (windows device manager says the drivers for both usb and hdd are most current, and devices are working properly.) oh, My hdd is a Seagate 5400.6 320Gb internal laptop drive. i burned .iso to usb using UUI. I do not have any dvd's to use, i had 1, but i wasted tryind to burn winRE to disk. hdd has been formatted by windows to accept install but it will not. PLEASE HELP GUYS! You guys helped me with bad memory modules on sevenforums before, i hope that there is a guru for this issue too...all the thanks, Fedaru.

I read on another post about removing disk drive before install but this asus notebook is like fort knox! i would have to remove a cover like 10 screws, and that may void warranty.

Answer:"load device drivers" prompt while installing windows 7 via usb

Hi Fedaru,

I have seen this message before if the USB drive you are installing from, is inserted into a USB3 port. This happens because USB3 ports require 3rd party drivers, and the drivers only make the port fully available after Windows 7 has loaded.

Can you check to see that it is inserted into a USB2 port? If so, try inserting into a different USB2 port, and trying the installation again.

Regards,
Golden

When I view the volume settings, it says "No Audio Device", and when I view the "Device Manager", under "Sound, Video And Game Controllers" it reads as follows:

Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Standard Game Port
Video Codecs

How do I find out which sound drivers to install? I have already tried Realtek AC'97 Audio and when it installed.. it finished halfway and a message popped up and said "Uninstalling audio drivers". I removed and re-installed Realtek AC'97 Sound Drivers. Well, it refuses to install the "driver" file actualy, that's the main problem here.

My PC is really messed up, I deleted a bunch on notepads because it was taking up my hard drive and I needed to install a game. But that didn't work out great :| Now my computer is missing Search Companion, System Restore, and Regedit ! HELP! How do I get those back?

Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU, 2.40GHz

7.85GB Hard Drive :O

Thanks in advance~ !

Answer:"NO AUDIO DEVICE", tried installing sound drivers but it refuses !

You "deleted a bunch of notepads"? OH NO!!!! Never do that unless you are 100% sure the file will have no effect on your PC!

Wow... it sounds like you may need to do a "Repair Installation", using your XP installation disk (the same service pack as your current installation)

You could try this, if you have your disk..to replace critical files, for starters:

Start>
Run>
Type "command">

In command prompt, type: "sfc /scannow"

IBM ThinkCentre A50 8320-7EG, Windows XP

Just reformatted and reinstalled, lists the ethernet, audio and video as 'unknown devices' (ethernet at least definately worked fine before reformat). All integrated with the motherboard.

Have tried to install drivers from the disk, downloaded from the IBM website and from driver packs but nothing has had any effect, using the wizard it won't recognise any drivers, installing the alleged drivers manually it says they have installed on the installation wizard thing, but nothing's changed with the device in device manager.

I assume somehow I must have the wrong drivers, but not sure how this could be the case, or really what else I can try.

Thanks very much for any help!!

Background: clone the entire contents of the HDD to a SSD with the aim to replace the HDD, including the OS.

After having cloned a HDD with Windows 7 laptop to a SDD successfully, and replaced the HDD with the SDD, resulted in a smooth boot exactly the the same procedure failed with a 2007 laptop Vista 32bit.

Procedure with support of the guidelines of the SSD Vendor (Sandisk):
1. Initialize SSD
2. Clone the entire HDD to the SSD
3. Replace the HDD with the SSD
4. Start the laptop.

The BIOS indicates: no IDE device found.
When starting up, the message 'Operation System not found' appears

A major difference between the Win 7 and Vista laptop is the transfer mode of the (former) HDD and the new SSD: Win 7 had a SATA 300 installed, while the Vista has a SATA 150. The SSD is SATA 600.

What I did?
1) I created a ISO Vista 32bit file to get the laptop into the repair mode. This repair mode does not recognize a drive c: (checking out with the installed DOS).
So, i'm turning in circles. There is no way to get the internal SSD recognized.

2) When connecting the new SSD drive with USB to check the SSD status with the Computer Management/Disk Management tool, this is displayed:

Hello, For no reason that I know of, the bluetooth facility on my little S10e has stopped working. I noticed a couple of times when shutting down I got a "BTstackserver" not responding message. I use the laptop to regularly download from a bluetooth enabled device. today, when I go to connect, I am told 'bluetooth device not found'.'Verify that your bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on'. The hardware manual shows the LED config and this is correct, If I press 'Fn' and 'F5' keys, I get the menu to turn on and off both the wireless and Bluetooth. I can enable and disable both wireless and Bluetooth with this menu option BUT when I enable bluetooth, I get the message 'One of the USB devices attached to the system has malfunctioned or is not recognised'. I have removed the installed Bluetooth software and re-installed using both bluetooth install files published on my S10e drivers list on lenovo. Neither one works. I know that you need to install from C:\DRIVERS dir once the installer has finished unpacking. I have tried various other obvious things but with no success. I also enabled 'Bluetooth co-operation' in the wireless lan settings. All I can do now is get at the Bluetooth device under the keyboard cover and have a look at that? Anyone got any suggestions before I get the screwdriver out? (The device is out of warranty).

I have an old Western Digital drive that came with Dell Inspiron One 2305 and replaced it after 5 years. There are some files I need from it now and I'm trying to connect via usb to sata. The WD volume does not show up. I got to device manager and found it listed in in unknown devices and it needs a driver to install. Where do I go to find the driver. Western digital site basically said that I need to go to the manufactures webstie (dell) for the driver but once im on dell i see nothing that hints at a Western Digital Driver. Hello!

So I did some searching for a way to fix this problem but I believe that my problem is different than the Bluetooth Peripheral Device problem that most people have.

I am NOT trying to connect a cell phone to my laptop. I am not trying to connect anything I don't think (unless my bluetooth mouse counts?).

I have no idea what a Bluetooth Peripheral Device is. I took some screenshots of the messages I receive every time a wake my computer up or turn it on. (1st, smaller picture)

It tries to update a driver but always fails and gives me this. (2nd, larger picture)

The suggestion my laptop gives me is this

There may be an easy solution to this, but I feel really lost right now.

I had some trouble last night and today with getting rid of a virus. Now that it is gone, I am having sound problems (maybe related, maybe not). This morning, when I opened iTunes I got a message that there was no audio device detected. After trying several things, I rebooted. Magically, I could play music again. However, a short while later, I again got an error message telling me that there is no audio device found, even though it shows up in Device Manager as working properly. The problem goes away for a short time after I reboot, but returns. It is Realtek AC 97. Why won't my computer keep recognizing it?

(It tried going to Realtek's site to download an update. It has updates for Windows 98, 95, etc., but not for XP. Or at least I couldn't find it.)

Try, removing the battery, unplug the device and holding the Power button down for at least 30 seconds. Re install the hard drive, making sure of proper connection. Replace battery and Power plug, go into bios and set optimized defaults. Then see if the hard drive is recognized. Try to listen and see if the hard drive is spinning up.

Hi all, I'm trying to do a vanilla installation of my Lenovo R61e 7650 and am experiencing something I've never seen before - I boot up XP, Press F6 and load the correct SATA drivers, Windows continues and successfully sees the hard drive, I tell it to format the hard drive but when it comes to asking for the SATA floppy disk again just before copying files (as normal), the setup suddenley ceases to see the floppy drive - game over.I decided to abandon the vanilla install and boot from the recovery partition but I don't get the To Start the Product Recovery program, press F11 message as instructed here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4UFUYK. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?  I wanted to update the bios to see if that helped but have discovered you can't do it from a floppy ( CD only and I don't have a burner apart from on my laptop ) or directly from Windows on the laptop ( and the laptop is blank because I've formatted the drive during setup and I can't run the recovery partition). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

hello all. i dont come around to this site very often but i desperately need you guys help.

im trying to get a gamebridge i purchased a few days ago to work. the first day i had everything going according to plan and had it installed on there and everything, but then i was having problems with it... it wouldnt show my game screen. so i decided to install to a new usb drive.

i took the device out and tried to reinstall to another drive but it didnt work... and now when i try to put it back into the original drive it gave me an error. so i went into device manager and unistall the device manually from the original drive.

but now i try to install it again to any drive it give me the code 28 error...
someone please help me i really need to fix this problem.
