Event 219 "WUDFRd failed to load " warning at bootup

Question: Event 219 "WUDFRd failed to load " warning at bootup

I am trying to get rid of event viewer errors and warnings at bootup. This one still eludes me. It appears to be a driver error related to my Epson RX680 printer. Can someone give me a few tips on how to narrow it down further?

"The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN_EPSON&PROD_STYLUS_STORAGE&REV_1.0 0#9&2856B3B7&0&070E018870865F0000&0#"

Preferred Solution: Event 219 "WUDFRd failed to load " warning at bootup

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

What have you already tried to fix the issue? Have you tried looking for an updated driver from epsons website?

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:
"The maximum file size for session "ReadyBoot" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 ... Read more

Slow booting. Really slow booting. Seems that using an SD card for ReadyBoot/ReadyBoost is causing the issue. But why?
On investigation, this only started happening back in November, which coincides with the install of KB2685813 UMDF 1.11 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2685813).
Could be a bit buggy....

I'll uninstall the update and see if this solves the issue.

Hmm. Now that is interesting.
In my System event log I was getting an NTFS error (57: Failed to flush tlog). I didn't think it was from my HDD, so using diskpart, I ran a 'CLEAN ALL' on my SD card, then recreated the FS as exFAT (previously it was NTFS).
Seems to be working now, although I'm getting VDS Basic Provider errors (Unexpected failure. Error code:
[email protected]) "which can be safely ignored" (re: KB979391).
This begs the question: if it can be safely ignored, why is it raised in the first place?
Boot time is also restored to an acceptable timescale.

I tried the "fix" suggested in another thread (change the service "Windows Driver Foundation" to Automatic from Manual) and it works for awhile. However, I have made the change several times since the Event Warning comes back after a few days. Anybody got a way to make the "Automatic" stick. Windows 8.1 seems to have a need make it "Manual"!

Answer:Driver WUDFRd failed to load - Event ID 219

It should be set to manual w/trigger so that is not the solution to your issue (whatever that is):

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below. Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings. I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up. Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below). The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).

I get the following Warning, Event ID 219 in the System Log on each boot:

The Event Log Online Help doesn't appear to be working anymore.
I was able to resolve these types of errors with the assistance of the Event Log Online Help in the past. Does anyone know the procedure to troubleshoot this error so it can be resolved?
Thank you for your assistance.

My computer recently started having issues........ here is what is going on:
* boot computer
* Windows boot screen displayed ~ 1 minute
* screen goes black. Can move mouse. Drive light constantly on, not blinking. ~ 5 minutes
* log in screen comes up / log in
* Desktop loads ~ 1 minute
> sometimes it loads with regular windows aero theme other times it loads with basic windows classic theme.
* Error message pop up "failed to connect to System event notification service"
* Have to wait for about 5 more minutes before computer is actually usable
* The audio service does not work as well...
from when I press the power button to when I can actually use my computer takes 10 - 15 minutes.

Here is what I have tried so far
*Turning off all start up programs / services
*Tested Memory - passed
*Hard Drive Self Test ---- # 1 - 7 fail / I am guessing that this is the source of the problem, however my computer does still work once everything is finally booted. So I don't know what to do with that information or if that test even matters.
* I have tried looking at the event viewer but every time it says that the event log service is unavailable.
> I try turning on Windows Event Log but that does not change anything
* tried "netsh winsock reset" in command prompt, based on a different thread that I found - it didn't work

Answer:Windows failed to conect to " system event notification service"

This seems to be a common problem, I am now also experiencing the same.
I have Win 7 Home Premium 64. Did chkdsk /r, defragged, tried sfc/scannow scanned for viruses and even tried reseting winsock.
My aero themes are greyed out, when trying to fix it with MS fixit it errors out.
It takes a long time to boot and then says "failed to connect to System event notification service"

One search on google will show this is a major problem, so why does MS not come out with a fix.
This seems to be the biggest frustration with Win 7 compared to XP, lack of support from MS.

I get this very same error every time I boot (startup, not shutdown). It appears twice in the system log ("Crash dump initialization failed!" by volmgr with event id 46). I have absolutely no issues with my Vista but I'd like to get rid of this error nevertheless. So far I've been unable to track the source of the problem.

I have SP1 and the latest updates installed.

Hi, have just tried to do a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on my new PC. I have been into the bios to make sure it is set to boot from DVD, all good. I then insert the windows dvd, drawer closes, disk spins, I get to the "windows transfering files" bar at the bottom of the screen, all good. Then the "Starting windows" message appears (without the colourful swirl in the background, just words) and thats it!!! It seems to lock on that screen? My motherboard has a LED code AE - Legacy Boot Event? What does this mean and is this stopping windows from booting? Please any help is much appreciated!. Boot into Setup (Bios) What is the HDD mode set to? Is set to IDE or AHCI? Also set the Bios to Default. Also check again in Boot Priority again to make sure CD/DVD rom drive is First Boot Device. You may need to do a Bios Update.

I recently came across a "corrupted" laptop (love how people call things to do with computers corrupted when they can't figure out how to fix it) to fix, it's a Dell Latitude D630 with windows xp home installed.

When i got it, booting up to windows would result in blue screen error after windows xp loading screen 100% of the time in normal mode, and would hang on mup.sys in safe mode (left it booting into safemode for about 6-7hours while i slept at mup.sys and never loaded past it). I decided to do a repair install, got through it all perfectly fine, entered the product key from the sticker on the bottom, worked fine. Booted up again, got past the xp screen to login screen and got the message "this copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can log on" can choose "Ok" or "Close" i believe, basically yes or no.. reguardless of what i click, it loads into windows to the desktop, and does not load anything else. ctrl+alt+del doesn't bring up taskmanager. in safemode everything works how it should, msconfig running processes are all normal, nothing out of the ordinary, as well as in services, closed everything except critical processes/services, made a new user as well and logged into that account, get the same activation message and loads to desktop with no icons and still no ctrl+alt+del/start menu/icons/any keyboard shortcut, however windows security center popped up on new account saying there was no anti-virus (woo... Many people have posted about Event 2 - Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035. I have not seen any posts where someone from Microsoft explained why this event occurs, why it occurs
in groups of 20 in about 10 seconds, how to prevent it, or whether it is something to be lived with.
Can anyone, especially someone from the NTdebugging team, a/k/a Global Escalation Services (GES), address this?
Thanks.

I've done some googling, this appears to be relating to the IMAP folder structure, I'm using Mac OS X Lion... this happens on all my computers (including one Windows one). It's not OS. I'm using Mac Mail mostly. In Mac Mail, and "!" mark appears next to the Inbox folder, I'm using my website's host for email access. I've contacted them, they say there is nothing wrong with the structure.

Any ideas?

Answer:My IMAP keeps on warning me: "STATUS failed".

Oh, this started when I tried to hide the IMAP's folders and just have the local ones, I did it completely wrong and I think I deleted the server's Inbox folder or something, I know how to hide the server's copy now, but I tried to "DIY" before and deleted something on the server I shouldn't have.

I removed Comodo 3.5 Firewall and completed removal by rebooting the P.C.
I then checked the event logs to confirm all was well.
I found in the Application Event log that about 1 minute after that latest reboot and login there were 4 errors.

All 4 errors were
Event Type: Error
Event Source: WinMgmt
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4
"Failed to load MOF" {specific file} "while recovering repository file."

The specific files were
C:\AC30D119A40F2C8C8708A20576\I386\LICWMI.MOF
C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V1.1.4322\ASPNET.MOF
C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V2.0.50727\ASPNET.MOF
C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V3.0\WINDOWS COMMUNICATION FOUNDATION\SERVICEMODEL.MOF

Incidentally both the ASPNET.MOF files had a last access date from last year,
so I seems to me that the "Failed to load MOF" was because the was no attempt to read them.
Also .NET v3.0 was purged last year, so the fourth item no longer exists ! ! !

I never knew till then that there had ever been any need to "recover repository files".
There were no further errors when I rebooted 4 times in succession,
so I assumed it was a "one time" failure to recover, and upon the second reboot a full recovery was achieved.
Did I do Good ? ? ?

I then installed Comodo 3.10 Firewall, and the next application event was

Hi

When I right click My Computer on Vista Start menu the page says "The page failed to load"

I enclose a screenshot of the error.

I was also get "the application has failed to start because WINBRAND.dll was not found" when running

SystemPropertiesAdvanced

From RUN

This has now been fixed by downloading WINBRAND.dll and copying it to c:\windows\system32

But "The page failed to load" still happens when right clicking My Computer and choosing properties.

I did a SFC / Scannow and something weird happened. The Command Window had an error (apologies - forgot to note which but will rerun in a moment) however the CBS Log File showed no errors and indicated SFC ran successfully.

I will post the results of SFC in a few moments

Thanks for your help.

I'll be referring to the image above. The second image that has to do with Outlook Express directly was caused directly after merging some partitions and then changing drive letters. I was using Partition Magic so Drive Mapper supposedly changed all references in the registry. I checked with Microsoft's solution to the problem, but it was of no help (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/191946). I would like to just completely remove Outlook Express if I could. As I was following the instructions, I deleted the registry keys I was supposed to which I think led to the first error message you see. I'm not completely sure though, it could have also been because I applied the Windows Vista Transformation Pack.

Answer:"Address Book failed to load" + Invalid root

*bump* Also, I should say that before the Outlook message used to pop up constantly (every 20 seconds or so) and I've gotten it to only pop up at startup by removing those registry entries.

As of the last week, have been experiencing issues with extreme slowness. Reset Firefox to defaults, did not help. PC slows/freezes, when tried to launch task manager, CTRL-ALT-DEL, get message "Failed to load security options" then screen stays black with only that message. At times never unfreezes. After a hard re-boot, goes straight to recovery mode. I have noticed that there are certain error messages such as failed updates. And also, my security defaults have been "turned off" at least once without my doing......... Yikes! I have done a recovery to previous date, and that has helped, but then it starts all over again.... Certain start up items dont load and then the freeze comes again. Hi Guy
I'm using win 98 and cannot get my Viavoice working.
I keep getting "FAILED TO LOAD LOCAL LANGUAGE MODULE".
This has been an ongoing problem for some time, and was part of a software package from "Time". I've also installed IBM software as a separate voice programme but can't get this to run satifactorily. Time Help is no help, perhaps you can help? Much appreciated in anticipation. Many thanks.

Dicksee

PS Have spent loads of money with "Time"without satisfaction.

Answer:Viavoice "FAILED TO LOAD LOCAL LANGUAGE MODULE"

Welcome to TSG!

Not sure if I can help but will try......
It sounds as if you have an incomplete or corrupt installation.
When this happens to any software program the best solution is to uninstall and reinstall the package.
1) Go to start\settings\control panel\add-remove programs and locate the via-voice line listing. Highlight it by left clicking and select remove.
2) If there are other entries referring to voice software remove them to.
3) Restart system into safe mode. During restart keep tapping the F8 key until a selection screen appears and arrow to select "Safe Mode" then hit enter.
4) Once in safe mode go to start\find-search\files and folders and type in *.cpl then hit enter
5) A listing of all control panel applets will appear in right pane.
6) Locate SETNOTE.CPL
7) Right click that applet and select delete.
8) Restart system into normal mode and reinstall the via-voice package.
Note: Make sure you anti-virus software is disabled before and during install.

Hope that helps.....

Dave

I ran "sfc /scannow". SFC reported that there were corrupted files that could not be repaired or replaced and to look at CBS.log. I did but can make no sense out of it.

Please find that file attached -- Any help will be appreciated.....

thank you,
Chuck

Answer:"Page Failed to Load" error attempting to change my Win7-64bit display

Run the system file check again. Sometimes it requires multiple runs. Reboot after each run (or before the first run if you have not rebooted since the last time you ran the check).Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

Vista Home Basic SP2. When I try to run Windows update all I get is a blank page that says "The page failed to load". I've looked all around and have found a lot of people with the same or a similar problem but no firm solutions. I haven't used it in maybe a week and it's worked fine up till now. There have been no real changes since I used it last. Does anyone have a clue?

Uninstall non-system firewall,antivirus,antispyware

Reset WU with "aggressive mode" How do I reset Windows Update components?

Viruses also cancause this.Because scanning on allive system is not credible because many viruses can hide before antivirus I suggest use LiveCD with antivirus for example this one Dr.Web LiveCD is a software product that features a standard, Dr.Web scanner ,burn boot it and scan.
If nothing help find WindowsUpdate.log file in C:\Windows pack it and attache to post.

I am getting the error "Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your Setup" This happens every time I try to access a Word document. I am using Word 2003 from the Small business pkg.

I searched on their site and there was a download for those who use the Outlook business contact manager also, which I do. I downloaded the file, when to install it and it says it is already there.

I am running Windows 2000, this just started today and my updates are up to date.

Any ideas? I can ignore the warning and work, if I click OK or the X, it shuts down Word.

Thanks!

Several days ago there was a large number of updates available to download. I allowed the system to update all of them. Three, KB974234, KB972581 and KB973709 it was shown on the update history page as failing to download.
Reading as to a possible solution, I tried to load them manually, saving those files to my desktop, right clicking on each, to run as an administrator. After each loaded I got a message telling me they were already installed on my system.
My question is why does the "failure" notice remain on my history page and how can I delete those three file entries?
Thanks much,
Lee

Answer:History page notes they "failed" to load

Simplest way to reset WU history is stop for the moment Windows Update service and remove C:\Windows\SoftwareDistibution folder...

After a catastrophic computer failure, I managed to recover almost everything. However upon booting up I got the message "BOOTMGR is missing". I used the original Windows installation disk to do Startup Repair, which recovered BOOTMGR. However now every time I boot up I get a message from Windows Boot Manager asking me to choose between "Windows 7...(recovered)" and "Microsoft WIndows Recovery Console". How can I get the computer to boot straight into Windows 7?

Hey guys

this is a great and detailed tutorial and all worked as explained except to the last step...

I still can't get into my account, what sucks big time.

It looks like the password has been changed as the error message is not the same when I enter a wrong password.

It says some like "failed to load the user Profile" or to "failure to connect to the service to load the User" (it's in another language so I translate the best I can.

When I hit the OK button the login page will reload.

I ain't get the link to reset a new password in that process, that one I get only when I enter a wrong password. Anyhow, I don't have a password reset disc (unfortunately)

QUESTION

Can I use above tutorial and simply REMOVE any kind of password from keeping me out of my W7?

I can get till the last prompt where the tutorial shows to enter a new password, so maybe I can do this to get rid of the password too?

Would be awesoome

Thanks for Any Help whatsoever

Answer:"failed to load the user Profile"

Hello easycash, and welcome to Seven Forums.

For that error, you would want to use the tutorial below instead. Be sure to read all of it for all available options. You might give the system restore at boot option a try first.

User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Guys,

Please review this issue for me as I need the answer for my references. This sometimes applies to setting up a new Internet Connection in Win 95 or 98. Let's say, that you have set up a new Internet Connection with new ISP path settings. Your asked to do a system restart, you do a restart and all is well until you get to a second screen in the bios that either says:

"Ethernet Adaptor failed to load press any key to retry" OR

"Ethernet driver failed to load press any key to retry"

I can't remember what the message says, but it's one or the other! after the word "Driver" or "Adaptor" it gives the driver name. You CAN however still get into Windows by pressing any key....But, the message will come up until you remove the driver.

I vaguely remember that to remove this message you go under Device Manager, under "Networking" and remove a device that has an exclamation point under it (This removes the network driver that doesn't load) But what does this message mean and how does it happen to get there in the first place? I know that it happens when setting up a new Internet Connection sometimes, but I need to know the exact steps for removing the driver because I might be changing ISP's in the future, and need to know what to do if this message comes up again! Thanks!

Jack

Answer:What Does "Ethernet Driver Failed To Load" Mean?

i think the message means that the driver is corrupted/not responding

why it happens, i dont know, but if u are installing a separate software to connect to your isp, this software might be the problem

the proper way of removing the driver is to delete it from device manager

Hello people. I have joined this site hoping to get to help with the issues I have after updating from windows 8 to 8.1. I have been pulling my hair out because after loading this update it has screwed up my laptop.

Firstly after my laptop eventually starts I get the following error message

REGSVR32
The module "C:\ProgramData\ljleKtopg.dat" Faile to load
Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path, or debug it to check for problems with the binary oe dependent .DLL files.

The specified module could not be found

The other main problem is

Sometimes when surfing the screen will freeze and sometimes it will start again after about 10 seconds, or it will just stay frozen and I have to switch the laptop off, and then restart it. When I restart it I get the following message on the screen, Configuring windows update, 100% complete, do not turn off your computer. This will stay on the screen for an average of 35 minutes before it goes, and my laptop starts. This happens a couple of times a day and it's doing my head in because it was fine before I had to do the 8.1 update.

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:"C:\ProgramData\ljleKtopg.dat" Failed to load

As for the dat file; I'll take a wild guess that this might be the residue of a malware that Windows Defender or your virus program cleared up.
The name of the file seems random generated (typical of malware) and the fact that it's in Program Data also smells a bit fishy.
Doesn't seem like a legit name of a file. Perhaps your upgrade cleared out whatever it was.
Check your startup items in the Registry and in Task Manager to see if there is something Windows is trying to start that doesn't seem legit. I am not one to shout "virus" or be dramatic about that, but you might just want to do a scan of your windows directory, Program Files folders and your Users directory.

CCCleanear and HiJackThis tells you if something has been messing with your settings - consider running those for this type of problem.

As for you problems with Windows update - either just hide that update and forget about it, alternatively run sfc /scannow from the command prompt to correct anything funny on your setup that might prvent the update from goingin.

Since these are quite different issues they probably belong in different threads, particularly if it ends up taking a while to get to the bottom of it.

This was the short response - if you are unsure how to do any of what I suggested, please google it, and if it's still not clear, then post back here.

I installed and uninstalled fruity loops (cause it wasnt working properly) and everything started going to shit. Im using XP Pro.

When i open internet explorer i get a "failed to load resource DLL" error message. When i click ok the program opens normally. This also happens when i right click on objects on my desktop.

I did a couple of virus scans and came up clean but when i tried to run auto update for norton it said i uninstalled it....which i didn't.

It also wouldn't let me play mp3s with windows media player, when i re-installed it it fixed that problem.

Anyone have any ideas what's causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I hope I am posting this in the right thread. I have a Toshiba satellite laptop with windows xp. Recently, at startup I started receiving a message that says" One or more modules failed to load." "This process will be terminated." All of a sudden, most of my programs are not working correctly either. They won't open and each has their own message. For instance, Adobe Photoshop says they a registry file is missing, please reinstall. Another program says something about a runtime error. I can't even open my Norton anti virus software. This is so frustrating, does anyone know what could have happened and how I can fix this problem? My guess would be some sort of virus, but I really have no clue. Please help!! Thanks

Upon clicking OK, Windows XP Home lets me perform the task ; move, delete, rename, properties or whatever.

Answer:"fAILED TO LOAD RESOURCE DLL" error

whush, first welcome to MG. I had a long reply typed out earlier, but lost it somehow. Trying again. Go to Start--->Run. Type in SFC and then <enter>. You MUST have your Windows Operating system CD loaded for maximum results. SFC (System File Checker) will check out all files required to run Windows and ask for various answers (courses of action from you) to the problems it finds, Read and re-read the courses of action carefully. Answer "ignore" first time round, if you are not sure of the correct answer. Proceed slowly, with a clear head and no sources of interruption. This may clear your problem, but will certainly help in other areas, at least. Bazza

PS I use W98SE, not XP, so there may be slight differences. Baz

Hi

After i have removed some spyware/trojans I starting getting this error message when I try to access the eventlog:

event log "unable to complete the operation on" eg. system "the interface is unknown" windows xp.

Also I can add programs to Symantec internet security 2005 firewall, reinstalling don't fix it. Some programs also start to fail, "bad image" or you don't have admin premissions.

Reinstalling SP2 or using system restore for XP don't fix any thing.

I have scanned my computer with 4 antispyware programs, and 4 antivirus programs and check it with hijackthis so my machine should be clean.

Does any one have any Idears?

Answer:event log "unable to complete the operation on" "the interface is unknown" windo

maybe you removes something with hijackthis which your system needs

go to start, run and type "sfc /scannow"
then it will rpompt you for the XP CD, put it in and let it scan your computer for corrupted or missing files

For the past couple of days i have been having a problem where my computer just shuts down on its own and then turns back on again. It mostly happens when im launching or playing a game but a couple of times i was just on the desktop and it restarted. I have checked the event logs and it keeps saying this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice.

I have searched all over the internet for the past couple of days and have found multiple answers (all of which didn't work). Some say its the psu and others say its the gpu. I personally think it was the windows update that i did three days ago because that was the day it started but i have yet to see anything online about a windows update causing this. I have already updated the graphics drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't change anything. Can someone just tell me whats going on because is just built this pc about 6 months ago and nothing like this has ever happened.

and I keep getting "Failed to extract file "Dll_ini" from binary table"

BUT no problems on my laptap which has the Viewer installed from the

Have had a few problems with computer of late - it was in the workshop

problem?

Grateful for any advice, suggestions as to what to do!

BIOS's vary widely; there is no standard features that are included. It's possible your BIOS has neither of them.

If these are features you are interested in exist, the first thing to do is to check the motherboard manufacturer's web site's "support" page, and find out what the latest version of BIOS is available for your motherboard, compare that to what you actually have on your motherboard, and then read the change log to see if possible these features were added.

You can also research these features by Googling the text "ModemRingOn" and the model number of your motherboard "GA-XYZ123" in the same search, in order to filter hits that are limited to those that include references to both of these qualities. Look for forum posts, and other technical sites & information.

Also, look for the User Manual for your motherboard on-line. Sometimes these include information on the BIOS of the motherboard.

I'm trying to find the settings called "ModemRingOn" and "PME Wake Up Event" both in bios but i can't find them.

Does anyone know where they are? Like under what options in bios?

Answer:Where are "ModemRingOn" and "PME Wake Up Event" located in bios?

They may not be there at all. If the modem is built into the board, maybe.

I have two issues, which I think are related. In the Device Manager, it shows under USB Controllers "Unknown device". "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I tried updating the driver, but the driver was correct.

I tried disabling the device.

I uninstalled the device. Windows reinstalled it at next boot, but the problem reappeared.

There is no Imaging Devices in the Device Manager.

At the same time, my webcam failed to open. Message "Webcamera initialization failed."

I downloaded the correct webcam program from Toshiba, installed it, but same result.

This all started when I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. I have tried uninstalling it again, but still no webcam.

The webcam is enabled in the BIOS.

I really do not want to reinstall Windows.

All help appreciated.

I just resolved an issue I had with the wireless connectivity of my Acer notebook computer and now I am getting strange error messages. When I try (not every instance) to open device manager I will get the message "Failed to open empty document." From there I will occasionally get "Parser" messages that say "Value creation failed at line 843" or "line 422." I read what I could find about these messages and it points to MMC as the cause. How do I go about fixing this annoying problem if anyone knows?

Hello
I am new to Microsoft Message Analyzer and just downloaded version 1.4 and installed on my Windows 10 laptop
I saved my Windows System Event log as an .evtx file to have some data to start looking at. I note the column entitled 'summary' appears to show the body of the event message. However I see many rows which state "unable to retrieve the event description"
in this column, what do I need to do to fix this issues please? could it of been the way that I saved the .evtx file in the first instance (I accepted the defaults) or do I need to install some additional files/components so the messages are displayed
correctly?

Thanks all

Answer:"Event Log Explorer" tool helps manage/analyze/report on your Windows Event Logs

I use the subscription to EventID.net. It has been greatly helpful. I don't have this analyser but am a big believer in using the Event Viewer. I'll add a description I have written up which will help in determining the Events: This may be useful in addition to the Event Analyzer.

One thing I have not been able to do is keep the filters set with the software in the OS.

Find the Error(s)in the Event Viewer that correspond to the crash/freeze/error message/blue screen, etc.:

Description of the Event Viewer:

Unfortunately, many Windows XP users aren't aware of the Event Viewer, what it is, where it is, how it can help with a problem:
The Event Viewer has logs for everything that happens on the computer. There are three sets of logs: System, Applications and Security. By opening the first two to display the Events, you can look for Errors that correspond to the time of the problem- in your case, the crash.

There are three types of Events in the System and Apps logs:
1. Information (white circle w/blue i): this is just basic documentation of the normal working of the System or Apps.
2. Warnings (yellow triangle w/black exclamation mark) noting some problem at that moment. Warnings usually resolve on their own. If they do not, they become>>>
3. Errors (red circle w/white X- they document something that didn't work or isn't happening as it should. Each Errors has three parts: an ID#, a Source and a Description. By doing a right clic... Read more

I've checked the System Registry and it has lots of info about that ATAPI drive, but my system fails to find the "cdrom" driver (which is the one Windows 7 uses by default). It's not a 3rd-party driver.

The tray on my CD/DVD drive opens and closes properly. Windows just won't recognize the drive, so I can't use it.

I'm hoping someone can offer a 'manual' solution to get it working again. I do not want to spend a month to reinstall my OS and tons of hard-to-configure software. I've read countless other posts and solutions, both here and on MS's sites. The info on MS's sites is not even understandable. It's too vague and often doesn't even apply to my situation.

Hello everyone
Recently, I'm playing Anno 1404 (also called Dawn of Discovery) in my Vista Home Basic 32bit finely until I saw the problem with the "save/load" problem. First, it saves "systematically" but, the save is corrupted to a 5kb file. Second, the game can't load the 'properlly saved' save file, and also the corrupted one also.

Few of the players had the similar problem, and someone said that making another user account works, and I tried and really worked for me. Yes, I can play this way, but all of my files and infos are saved in the Administrator account, and I don't want to switch users just to play that game

Recently I found a useful MS program, which is runas, and found how to run as another account. It asks for the account pw, and everythis was fine, but it doesn't run my game
It just closes the cmd and nothing happens. What could be this problem?
I hope Ubi gives out this fixing patch fast

Answer:Anno 1404 "save/load" problem and using "runas.exe"

Figured it out with Runasspc program (which also saves the password! )

My work laptop has picked up this virus/malware. What it does is blocks your desktop and all programs with a white screen, and if you are connected to the internet it brings up a bogus FBI warning that says you have to pay a fine. Task Manager is unavailable. I cannot remove it because I cannot get to the BIOS without an admin password, nor can I boot in safe mode w/o this. I do not want to give it to the I.T. of my work place because they will probably just wipe the drive and re-install the programs of my work place. I hate to have that happen because I have installed on this computer several programs I need for my work, and if the drive gets wiped I'll have to spend hours hunting down these programs again and re-installing them. Is there some way around the "admin rights" stuff so that I can run Kaspersky's WindowsUnlocker and be done with it?

Answer:"White Screen", "FBI Warning" Malware!

Really, you should just take it to your IT department to let them deal with it so you don't make it worse.

I work in a corporate IT environment right now, and much prefer a user come to us before they tried to fix it on their own..

Yes, you'll most likely get the drive wiped, however you can tell them to back up your data for you, and possibly even reinstall those programs that you need; especially if its for work, they should have the licenses and/or installers for the software.

Hi, I recently made some upgrades to a (previously fine) PC - they were

- Installing 4GB extra RAM, of the same variety
- Reinstalling windows on a new SSD (a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB)

I previously also upgraded to Windows 10, but a bunch of blue screens and other issues later I reinstalled 7. I'm still having problems though - the current symptoms are that every so often (1-3 times a day) the computer will hang for ~1-2 minutes on the 'starting windows' screen. When it finally loads, it will often hang for further extended periods before settling down. I checked in these event log and during these periods there will be many 'atapi' errors, with Event ID 11 "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0." (I have attached a screenshot).

There will sometimes be other errors, usually relating to the timeout of certain things, but the previously mentioned error is by far the most prolific. On rare occasions there have been more serious errors - never blue screens since going back to windows 7, but once I booted to a black screen with just a mouse (was able to shut down via task manager then following a restart seemed ok).

Through some investigation, it does seem to be that the root cause of the problem is the SSD; I identified this a while ago and have tried various fixes, including:

Ensuring my Motherboard (a M4A78LT-M) SATA ports are configured in AHCI mode (they were previously IDE). This also led me to completely re-installing windows in an e... Read more

At present I have my WIN 7 set to Boot up without a Password. I would now like to change that siuation back to a "Password Required" Boot.

How do I go about this ?

I have tried going into User Accounts >Change Passwords where I get the three boxes "Current Password", "Change Password" and "Confirm New Password" all blank as expected.

Its what happens next that has me puzzled.

I tried leaving the "Current Password" blank , entered a new Password into the "Change Password" box and re-entered this into the last Box .

I now get the message " The password you typed is incorrect. Please re-type your new Password"

What to do here ?

Answer:How To Change a "No-Password" Bootup Back to a "Password "Bootup ?

You might have windows set up to not require a password or automatically login (stored password), so you still would need to enter the password you had entered when installing windows. This is just a guess though don't hold me to this

Hi there,
Can someone please help to shed some light on this, or possibly fix this issue?
I've been trying for ages to get my parents computer to download and install updates.
It's running 7 Home Premium 64 bit with SP1.
The Windows Update page shows that Windows could not search for updates, which resulted in the error 8007370B
The link on that page to get help for this error has no results.
The system update readiness tool failed to fix the issue
sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt results in the error message
Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation.
I also tried to force WSUS offline updates, but ended up having to remove the temp admin account and cancel the updates when that failed.

I am running Windows XP SP3, fully updated, on an Acer lap top PC.

I have several folders full of .mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. To do this I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

The two new columns appear, but the format of the "Duration" column appears to be "hours:minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03" for most .mp3's, when what I want to see is 'hours:minutes:seconds", e.g. "00:03:45".

This also happens for video files (.avi files), e.g. all my episodes of "Heroes" (sad, I know) have a duration of "00:42" instead of "00:42:xx".

Here are two pictures showing the problem with the .mp3's. The first is of Explorer showing the Duration as "Hours:Minutes":

The second picture is of the properties window of the first .mp3 in the list above:

I copied some .mp3 files to another (old) PC on my home network, and it displayed the duration field correctly:

Also, the properties window correctly shows the duration also:

I'm not the only person to have this problem. I received a private message from a member of another forum where I posted about this problem several weeks ago. That person also has the same problem with the duration field.

Mods, if you feel that this thread is more of a "Windows" issue, please feel free to move this thread.

Here last year I did my second build because I was having "boot" issues. Wasn't certain what exactly the problem was at the time. But something some how screwed up the boot sequence in my system, and where everything was pretty much "outdated." I just went ahead and did another build.

Though, since then I've been pondering around with the thought of using a SATA to IDE adapter so that I can retrieve what ever salvageable data I can from one of the two HDD's that was in my last build. So I finally broke down and ordered a couple different one's earlier this week.

Unfortunately, I've been running in to some problem(s) when I try to launch with the IDE in place.

Upon initial launching, the boot sequence seem to take some time longer than it normally does with out the IDE HDD in place. Though after a 15-20sec lapse I'll get an error screen displaying an windows error code of "0xc000000e" with a prompt message below stating "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"

I searched all over online to see what that error code represents, only to get "pages after pages" of sites with each site telling me something different.

I have no intentions of using this as a third HDD in my system. I just want to retrieve select data from it.

I'm posting this in the Vista forum because this has never happened with Windows 2000 or XP.

I bought two exact duplicate models of hard disks. I set up Vista Ultimate on one of my systems. I used Acronis True Image 10 to clone the operating disk to the factory-new, never-used, same model disk as a backup drive in the event the first disk failed. I put in the clone to be sure it runs; but, I get the error mentioned in the title of this thread.

Now, if the second disk is supposed to be a clone of the first, why does this happen and how can I fix it?

I'm not married to Acronis for this job so I would use any disk cloning tool that makes a sector-for-sector copy. I use Norton Ghost 2003 for making sector-for-sector raw image (forensic) copies of PATA drives; but, these are SATA drives and Ghost 2003 simply sits there like Tarbaby and he don't say nuttin' to no SATA drive.

I know there are a handful of threads with the above error message and code, but I have yet to see a thread with what was my reason for the error code. I wanted to pass on what I discovered and how I fixed it.

I started with a standard Windows 7 Pro install joined to a domain. This machine has restricted Internet access so I downloaded the ISO on another machine, burned it to media and ran the upgrade on the test machine from within Windows. The machine passed all of the checks and tests and reported no issues. It would get to the first "Installing" screen, display 0% and then almost immediately give me the pop-up "Something Happened: Install Failed"

I ran it as administrator, I did a Clean Boot, I uninstalled all of the AV/Malware/security type stuff. Nothing worked. I finally found the setuperr.log in C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther. Found several error lines and the code was always 80070005. I found a line where the installer had a problem copying install.esd. I cleared out the $Windows.~BT in case there was file corruption in the directory somewhere and tried again - no change. Finally, I decided to create a USB install media and viola! The install completed. And I used the same ISO to make the USB that I had used to make the DVD.

I've read a few other threads where people had problems with the ISO. So the moral of the story is if you need to use install media, use the USB installer.

I have actually been getting this error for the past month, at least since March 29th. I've made several attempts to work around it but to no avail. It appears that there is an error with the other browsers as well. I have searched for solutions for this for several weeks, none of which fit my problem. I uninstalled my clamwin antivirus in favor of Windows Security Essentials, though, most people have fixed this problem by messing with AVG? I don't think I have AVG on my computer?

Anyway, if someone knows how to solve this problem please let me know, I'm willing to try anything.

I have a problem with my ThinkCentre E72 (Windows 8). Suddenly, it shuts down with "shut-down" screen. Later, in my Event Viewer, I found the following System Warning:"The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001" where the source of problem is Kernel-PnP. Only thing that is plugged in my computer is mouse, keyboard and monitor. Many thanks,Matija

Answer:E72 - The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001

In case anyone else is affected by this, please have a look at my post in Kernel-pnp (PLEASE HELP). Best regards // ThinkErEr

Hi there!
I'm in a desperate need of help.
This is the situation (sorry for my bad English as always...).
Yesterday I left my PC running with a download in progress through MiPony.I told the program MiPony (for the first time) to shut down the PC at the end of the download.Until then the PC had no problem. Before going to bed I checked the PC and I saw that it was offThis morning I turned on the PC and I glimpsed a sign that it was starting a scan (the only letter I saw was I:\) but I could not stop it.The PC is turned on regularly. Only half an hour later I found out that an entire 3TB HDD in 4 partitions had disappearedI did some search and found this error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\PARAGONBLOCKDEVICE\0000.I tried to reboot but same situation (no scan and normal situation) but NO drive.I checked the event log (attached) and I see the problem started after 4 different event regarding my network connection (It's a week that I have to reset the modem \ router several times a day)

I am seeing several of these Warnings in the Event Viewer, Windows System logs. These are Event ID 219, Source Kernel-PnP.

That said, I am not experiencing any crashes, freezes, BSODs, and everything on my PC seems to be functional. So perhaps I can safely ignore these warnings, but I prefer to get to the bottom of something in case it will lead to problems in the future.

I have done some online research on this event, and none of the suggested fixes seem applicable to me. I have been vigilant in keeping all drivers on my machine up to date. I've checked, and there don't seem to be any newer drivers available for any of my hardware. I also have the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service set to "automatic" startup.

The details of this event are below.

Any suggested action to remedy my problem? Thanks!

Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers installed. Usually your video card driver.

Hey folks,

I seemed to have downloaded a whole medley of malware. The problem started with a system window which kept popping up, along with a slow computer and a disabled wireless connection. The system window said the following:

Critical System Warning!
Your system is probably infected with the lastest version of Spyware.Cyberlog-X.
Type: Spyware
Infected Length: 266,129 bytes
Risk: High
Affected Systems: Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, 2000 Server, Windows XP
Behavior: Cyberlog-X is a spyware program that monitors user activity, logs keystrokes, and track Web sites visited.
Symptims: Low Internet connection speed
Low System Performance
Secyrity center alerts
Strange pop up windows
Protection: Click OK to download antispyware software

Additionally, there were two or three other unique balloon-style warnings that would pop up out of the system tray. Can't recall what they said.

I followed the malware removal instructions on this site, and each step seemed to find a whole bunch of problems. While the symptoms are no longer present, I want to be sure that I caught everything. Would someone mind taking a look at my log files to make sure?

Thanks in advance, I'm very grateful for the help!

Cheers,
Matt

When I open an old (2003) Exel-file with VBA-code in it with Excel 2007, I get one of these two responses
and I do not know what causes Excel to make different choices
-----------------
1)
A Dialog Box: "Microsoft Excel Security Notce"
This one is very similar to the one in Excel 2003 and that is how I want Excel to behave.
The user has to “Enable Macros” to go on and work with the file.

2)
"Security Warning"
This one is new in 2007 and the user can continue to work with the file even if he does not see the security warning.
That means that VBA-code that I (the programmer) want to run when the file is opened, does not execute.
--------------------------

My problem is that I do not know what causes the two different behaviors and cannot force Excel to open files with the first Dialog box.
Can you?

Answer:Solved: Excel "Security Notice" vs "Security Warning"

I think most of the info will be in the dailog screen, i'sn't there's more text in the dialog box than the text you mentioned?

I think if you read through it it'll become clear.

It has all to do with the improved Security settings with 2007 and up

Found this in a simple search with Google:

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

My PC started BSOD-ing a few days ago and now does it every few hours.

It starts with this error:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then moves on to:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_Multi&Prod_Flash_Reader&Rev_1.00#058F63666471&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.

Then:
Installing printer driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer failed, error code 0x0, HRESULT 0x80070705. See the event user data for context information.

Then:

The print spooler failed to regenerate the printer driver information for driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer for environment Windows x64. Win32 system error code 1797 (0x705). This can occur after an operating system upgrade or because of data loss on the hard drive.

Finally:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff80c5d0d15b0, 0x0000000000000000, 0xffffffffffffffff). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: d35c98fc-b1e6-4003-bed9-f7cdbca575e2.

This started happening a few days ago, right after a new update from windows:

Answer:BSOD - The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPD

Hi bftdsh.

A stray crash dump is not enough. Click on the button below ....

It will download the DM log collector. Right click on the application and run as administrator. It will generate a .zip file on your desktop. Upload the .zip.

Full event error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device {C5A047D8-CB5B-40E9-B9E3-316AB06B5A18}\WirelessKeyboardFilter`

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:

I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):

Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Thanks,

aardvark

*** Problem has reappeared, so this is NOT a solution ****
It worked for 5 reboots, so strange it reappeared

Been searching for days to find a solution for this problem (including fresh installs of Windows 10 etc), and today accidentally found it ... for my Asus Maximus V111 Formula at least, but it may also work on other motherboards

In BIOS, ensure that the XHCI Hand-Off is set to ENABLED (default is disabled)

I changed this, and now I can boot the system with USB devices inserted, and not get any Kernal-PnP warnings

Hope this helps somebody else

At Windows 10 startup this Warning appears in my Event Log as Event ID: 219.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{a1c931b2-3b00-11e5-9c14-806e6f6e6963}#0000000008100000.

I know why this happens. The device in the message is an internal SATA AHCI hard drive. All AHCI drives, even internal ones, are considered removal or hot swapable. It even causes the safely remove icon to appear sort of like it was a USB drive. It happened on Windows 8.x. Don't remember if it happened on Windows 7. I can't make any changes in my BIOS to make it not hot swapable as there is no option for this drive.

The fix to get rid of the message in W8 was to modify the Service 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' Changing the Startup type from Manual to Automatic fixed the problem. However, on Windows 10 this method does not work.

I can't disable the Service as it's needed for other devices. Just wondering if anyone found a nice clean way to get rid of the warning message like in W8?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device .......

I have the same issue. I have upgraded from Win 7 home, had some issues so I did a clean install of Win 10 home, and I also tried changing the Windows Driver Foundation - User Mode Driver Framework from manual to auto and same as you it did not work. And, Yes, I have downloaded and installed all of the latest driver/firmware from my manufacturer for all my hardware but still have this issue.

Hi,

I'm been having issues a looong time with different sorts of BSOD's but I've been able to cook it down to this last one after replacing both graphics card and Logitech headset.

Latest error which occuring at least once per day:
The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{01539fd4-4f12-11e4-824c-806e6f6e6963}#00000000007E0000.

This happens very random and I'm really lost here.

Thanks! / Micke
