MSHTML.DLL corrupt dunno how to fix it.

Question: MSHTML.DLL corrupt dunno how to fix it.

I cannot use IE. It simply will not open. When I open it without add ons it will open but when I try to leave the blank page it crashes and leaves "view downloads" open. And any program that uses IE causes a massive amount of errors saying "C:\Windows\system32\mshtml.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." However I can't re-install IE because it won't let me install it while it's already installed and it won't let me uninstall because when I go to programs and features>manage updates and right click on IE11 to uninstall it comes up saying "An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled." I also tried taking mshtml.dll from my fiance's computer and pasting it over mine but it says I don't have permission (even though I am administrator). This seems like some sort of cruel joke. Catch 22 everywhere. HALP

Preferred Solution: MSHTML.DLL corrupt dunno how to fix it.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: MSHTML.DLL corrupt dunno how to fix it.

Let's start with this...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Update your video card drivers.

You may also be runniing a resolution too high for the video card to handle.

Or, Internet Explorer could need to be repaired: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q175/3/79.asp

For the past few weeks I've been getting this error in IE "IE has caused an error in mshtml.dll IE will now close" .And just lately I've been getting that same "mshtml.dll" error in AIM.I did some searching on google for this error and found a few sites that said it was a problem with a certain version of internet explorer and to update IE.I updated from 5.5 to 6.0 sp1 and I'm still getting the error message. Also since I started getting this I can't open my control panel when I try to I get an "Internet explorer script error" message and my control panel comes up blank and the only options I get in IE's internet options are all java related there's nothing about unclicking script error message notifications. Also tried deleting and replacing mshtml.dll from windows but it wouldn't let me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question: mshtml errors

It appears that I have a sick copy of mshtml.dll. Repeated errors in Outlook Express 6, Windows XP Home.

In another forum, it is said that the version 1106, from August 02 is good, since replaced by version 1141, dated December 02.

I see the older one on my system, but when I copy it to \Windows\System32 and allow replacement, something (presumably system restore) brings back 1141.

Any suggestion for getting 1106 back into place short of clean install of Windows?

Question: mshtml.dll error

Hi folks, i've been having a quick look round the forum to try and find an answer to an issue i'm having but i'm obviously either just not finding a solution or putting in the wrong criteria or something!!

anyway, for the last couple of weeks i've been getting an issue, think it followed on from me installing windows script host 5.6.

Now i'm getting constant errors when trying to use IE (not that i use it too often) and the likes of WLMessengery/yahoo messenger and even a live chat program i use for my business.

i can't seem to find anything to tell me how to totally remove this wshost and i've tried disabling in control panel but i still get the errors.
Code:
Exception EAccessViolation in module mshtml.dll at 00209EDC.

Access violation at address 3DC29EDC in module 'mshtml.dll'. Read of address 00000000.
this was the error i'm getting from my chat program, and its a similar thing with everything else.

funnily i'm having no issues with google chrome and i think firefox was ok too

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:mshtml.dll error

This error happens when the mshtml.dll file is missing or deleted. It can also happen when we "repair" the registry and damage or delete the mshtml.dll file. To repair this you must install the most current security update for IE. Make sure you have the latest Windows Updates.

I get: "Iexplore has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL" when I try any update for Windows. Clicking OK blows away the web page & site. Fix procedure would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:MSHTML.DLL error

From my research on this problem, you have three choices. 1. Do a repair of IE. Go to Add/Remove programs - Internet Explorer - click remove. This will bring up a screen where repair is an option. Try that. 2. Reinstall IE. 3. Extract the MSHTML.dll from your original CD. ME requires a certain version of this dll file to function properly. Most of this is from MicroSoft KB articles. Hope this helps .

Lordie, lordie.

Let's start by running the CoolWebShredder, download available towards the bottom of this link:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html

THEN, install, UPDATE, and run Ad-Aware, doing a full system Scan as instructed by Winchester. Won't hurt to install, update and run Spybot either:

After rebooting, check your HijackThis Scanlog to see if the entries below remain, check and "fix" them if there. Then post another fresh HijackThis Scanlog so we can see what remains.

Question: mshtml.dll errors

I am continually getting mshtml.dll errors while on the internet using IE 6.0, but when I use AOL everything is fine. I have been to the Microsoft site and none of the problems seem to be what I am experiencing. Any suggestions as to what it could be? I have a P4 2.5 mhz processor and 1gb memory and operating system is Windows XP Pro. and IE 6.0, also my video card is an ATI Radeon 7500. The message says internet explorer has encountered a problem and must shut down. Thanks Dave

If this does not help and no better idea, just uninstall internet explorer and reinstall it. Try installing IE7.

Hello,
I recently formatted my computer, (3 times) because I suspected that I had a virus that wouldn't let me on the internet. So I reformatted but I am still having problems getting on the computer. Everytime that I open IE I get an error message that it needs to shut down.
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: mshtml.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2900.2180 Offset: 0007f44d
I suspected that my computer may have the dnschanger virus so I downloaded the Windows Defender Offline and it wouldn't let me use it, said that it wasn't compatible, so I used Norton's Power Eraser. I downloaded it on a memory stick and ran it from there. It done a scan on the suspected pc and came up with nothing.

I have searched Microsoft and it had some information and the article stated to update to the latest updates and this should fix the problem, but when I try to update my computer, it goes to a not available screen and won't let me update.

Plus, I am using a router that has a wireless laptop that uses the internet from the router along with some ipod touches. I am scared that if it is the dnschanger virus that it may have infected the router and the other laptop and mobile devices. Any suggestions on what to do?

Thank you for your time.

When trying to instal 2 pictures that I received by e-mail into my computer, I get the title message. I checked my computer for the file and it is indeed missing. Microsoft is of no help except that I did learn that the missing file is a goofup by Microsoft when upgrading Windows XP Home to SP2, but they do not have a fix at this time. I have a Dell Dim.3000 with XP Home. Before I tackle Dell I thought I would check if anyone has experienced this problem and what was done to resolve it. One suggestion that I did hear about was to purchase SP2 and instal the CD version.

I'm running XP Pro with SP 2 and have done a new disk install trying to alleviate this problem to no avail. My IE7 constantly freezes with error messages showing "hungapp or mshtml.dll. I have researched and talked with Microsoft until I am sick of dealing with this problem. I hope and pray there is someone here able to help me with this problem.

This is a new custom built computer with a new disk install of XP Pro, everything is kept clean with Trend Micro and Ad-Aware 2008. The problem has become more than I want to deal with from continuous aggravation that has finally gotten to me.

Thanks to anyone willing to help me with this problem!

I cannot update windows. When i search up random stuff, i keep going to random sites that im not even looking for. I believe this is has to do something with the mshtml.dll or something like that.

My computer with windows XP Home edition was working fine until I contracted a virus. Two to be exact: koobface worm and fakeav trojan horse. After isolating the infected files in quarantine, my IE 7 would not connect to the internet directly, but it would connect via a hyperlink in an incoming email. I am receiving email in Outlook.

I've seen that some advise removing IE7 and reverting back to IE6, which seems to work for some people. But I can't see how to remove IE7 from my system. I've also tried some other quick fix attempts, but they are not taking. When I tried regsvr32mshtml.dll, it fails.

I don't know what to do now?

Please help. Thank You

I have Windows-XP home edition, and IE 7.

I am missing an mshtml.hlp file, which reads as, C:\WINDOWS\Systerm32\mshtml.hlp.

How would I retrieve this file? I tried to copy a picture in "save picture as..." and it gave me these messages, which I copied word for for. They read as,

1.The System cannot find the file specified. (Ok or Help)

2. Cannot find the C:\WINDOWS\System32\mshtml.hlp. Do you want to try to find this file yourself? (Yes or No)

3. Cannot find file

4. Check to see that file exists on your disk. If it doesn’t, you need to reinstall it. (Ok)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Yesterday I started having problems with IE just crashing on me. At some sites (such as my default page), the page would not even get to finish loading before I'd get the ol' error message, "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Accompanying this message is the option to send an error report to MS. At other websites, I can surf freely (such as at MS website to search for help on this - HA!).

Anyway, I clicked on the "more info" button, and it tells me there is an error in the mshtml.dll mod. I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. I have tried repairing IE, restoring previous version and then reinstalling IE, and I keep getting the same message. I have noticed that IE crashes mostly when there are pages opening that have one sort of pop-up or javascript ad running in the background, so I decided to give hijackthis a try (since I've had success dealing with you great fellas in the past).

Here is the hijackthis log from my computer (running Windows98):

Answer:IE Crashing, mshtml.dll error?

You are running P2P and have no AV!!

Do a couple online scans from this list http://forums.techguy.org/t110854.html

Then get AVG http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ and do a full scan

SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
AdAware SE http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
SpyBot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their definition updates and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything they say.

Then post a new log

On system running XP problem with various applications not starting up (AOL, roadmap software etc.) with display of above error. Have not installed new software. Error occurs as soon as system attempts to start the program. Also it is not possible to uninstall or reinstall AOL (for instance).
Going back to system status as of a week previous allowed at least reloading of AOL. But then then the same problem recurred.

Any ideas for the not very computer literate?
Is it worth trying out one of these services, which purport to find dll errors and fix them?

Any help appreciated.

Take a look at this Microsoft item. MS Note. See if that applies to you. Assuming you are using Internet explorer 7 => If you are seeing this error while surfing the web, you maybe able to uninstall IE7 and reinstall it via Add and remove programs and then visiting the website for a reinstall. I also found an issue @ Tech Support Guy's forum. They gave a similar answer but added more info. Hope this helps,,,rigel

Greetings, phalguni.hensh.

Couple of things you might try:

Clear your Temporary Internet Files cache.

Download, install and run CCleaner.

If you're still having problems, try using another browser such as Firefox.

If that doesn't work, let us know.

Well I ordered some RAM off ebay. PC3200 512 X 2. One stick is fine, but with the other one I get this. This is the second one the guy sent me and I think he sent the exact same one back thinking I wouldn't notice. I tried a different slot on the board too - same thing. I tried having only one stick in there and it was fine, but when I swapped sticks into the same slot - boom. Grrr...

Answer:Gee, I dunno... bad RAM?

Well well well.. should be easy enough to figure out where this problem started............

Question: I dunno here...

I have been getting weird spyware from my Ad-Aware scans, like tracking cookies when I use Firefox, and it actually found a file. I just did a scan with McAfee, and after it finished it found a trojan and I deleted it. Here is the logfile, but I don't know if there is anything bad on it. I hope not. Thanks in advance.

Dell Dimension C521 with XP Home loaded. Some time ago I installed a Linksys 2.4 GHz Wireless G PCI adapter with speed booster onto the motherboard, set it up properly and it worked fine.
Now I wish to connect a wired modem (Clearwire) for internet access, but XP is not recognizing the modem at all, only the wireless adapter
I have checked the ethernet connection on the computer, it's OK
No matter how many times I run the XP connection wizard, the modem is just not found
Did I somehow erase the program or driver that would recognize any modem ?
How do I get it back?
Thanks in advance !

Answer:dunno what I did, please help!

You should go to the homepage for the modem, and download the latest drivers. It sounds like you do not have the drivers installed.

Question: wat? i dunno

Im really bad at this kind of stuff so hopefully someone can help.
All i know so far is that when i try to boot windows, it goes to the safe mode / last known good config screen. tried to load the last known good config and it didnt help. i was told that after a windows update was installed and computer was rebooted, it just wouldnt load windows. sorry for the lack of info, but i got nothin... im tempted to just reinstall windows.

anyone?

Answer:wat? i dunno

Hi Steve

Guessing it wont go into Safe Mode either and recycles back to same screen?

Could try a repair of windows and boot to OS CD.

Or as you say just bite bullet and go for clean install, but does the HD have data thats needed to be recovered first? if so I did a weird trick a while back, just one of those weird moments when a spark of genius jumps out and as I have Acronis True Image 2009 installed, and a rescuse CD created it booted to that and managed to be able to just Image the My Documents folders and other folders to portable HD, then formatted PC and installed Windows XP again, installed the 15day trial of Acronis 2009 (available from Majorgeeks) on that PC, plugged in the portable HD and managed to drill down into the Image and right click copy and pasted the folders to the desktop and then left the user to move them into the correct folders.

Question: dunno what to do

I'm at a crossroads here. On one hand I really want to have my computer built VERY soon as I only have 2 more parts to order, and on the other han dI really want WIn Vista since it will be the next step in innovation and be 64 bit, and be required by most games coming out in Jan and after (I think)

problem is that Vista doesn't some out till end of Jan, and I want this comp done by end of Dec. I was thinking about getting Win XP media center to maybe hold me over but I don't know. In a month I would just be shelling out another $200 for Vista so I would have wasted so much money. What should I do!!

Answer:dunno what to do

just get xp and use it, and don't get vista for a couple of years. i have yet to hear of any games that say they will be vista only. the only thing vista has over xp gaming wise id dx10, and the 1st vid card t support it just came out and is over 600usd. so unless you have the nvidia 8800, you won't even be seeing dx10 in use, even if you get a game that uses it (i don't believe any are out yet). after using vista rc1 for a while, i just went back to xp. for me vista didn't give enouph tweeking power over my system to get the most speed for my gaming. the os just simply doesn't allow for 100% user control over the os like xp is. vista is just too concerned about protecting you and its self.

Question: i dunno

This seems pretty easy but, this is what it does during installation.Should the spaces be removed along with the semi-colon or is this a normal config.Just seems a little odd to me..
C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\;C:\Python25;C:\progra~1\common~1\gtk\2.0\bin; ;C:\RUBY\BIN

Answer:i dunno

What you have is a Windows rendition of $PATH which delineates the various directories that are searched to find a command to be executed.

Spaces are ok for file names and directory names on Windows systems. So, I would say leave them as is.

To demonstrate, you can put an executable with a unique name, e.g. hello, in any one of the directories - i.e. separated by the ';' character in $PATH, then position your command window to your $HOME directory, and give the command:
$ hello
where hello is the executable name of the hello world program that just prints out the words: Hello, world!

I would then move the hello executable back to your home directory.

Unless your installation triggered an error message regarding $PATH - it is nothing to worry about.

Since accepting the IE8 Windows update, I keep having
IE8 crashes always with mshtml.dll indicated as the fault module.
Any advice on what to do?

Answer:mshtml.dll Internet Explorer 8 crash

hello donmug
this seems to be a common problem with IE8, i would try to disable all addons and see how it goes, (tools, manage addons,), and then enable them one at a time and see which ones (if any) are causing the problem, also check the MS site to see if there is any info there. after looking around various sites it seem mshtml.dll is image rendering, do you have the latest drivers ?, seems an odd cure but may work, also i have read that some users have had good reults by reinstalling java, lastly click the link and give this try. i hope some of this is of some use and you get this problem sorted

Turn off all antivirus and all automatic updates, except for yuor firewall..Uninstall IE7..This will automatically revert you to IE6..Still leaving all antivirus etc off, Go and re-enter " Regsvr32 mshtml.dll " without quotations..once you have done that sucessfully, go <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx">here</a> and download IE7..Once you have successfully done that..Switch on all antivirus and run automatic updates again..Problem should be solved..

Hello,
I recently formatted my computer, (3 times) because I suspected that I had a virus that wouldn't let me on the internet. I ran CCleaner before I reformatted and let it fix all the problems found in the registry. (Now I am regretting that I done this because I didn't know what I was doing). I done a backup of what it fixed but when I reformatted the computer after, I didn't save it on my memory stick. Now I am still having problems getting on the computer. Everytime that I open IE I get an error message that it needs to shut down.
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: mshtml.dll

I have searched Microsoft and it had some information and the article stated to update to the latest updates and this should fix the problem, but when I try to update my computer, it goes to a not available screen and won't let me update.

I have already had a post in the Am I affected area of this forum and had someone to help me. We done several different steps and concluded that I don't have a virus or malware on the computer at this time and he suggested that I post in the XP forum. Hopefully someone can help me fix my computer.

Thank you for your time

I found some closed threads here on the mshtml.dll error caused by IE 5.5 under ME.

Three main causes were cited by folks, one the video driver settings, one overheating, the other had a link to MS site which said it could be fixed by downloading latest 5.5.

It can't. Thought oheating might be cause til found it happened cold as well. Think video driver most likely. I have matrox G450, everything set to optimum performance.

Need it that way, so can people let me know of any workarounds for it?

Mind you I have a problem with Word 2000 too (ms09.dll)

I found other threads on this IE5.5 problem by searching for "mshtml.dll"

Hi there!

For sometime now I've been getting errors when trying to use Outlook Express 6. Before, the error would pop up out of the blue randomly and say the program caused an error and had to be shut down. I cann't recall what filename was listed as causing the error, but it was a dll, and started with "nt"

I just started getting a different error and it is causing some very serious issues I need to get resolved ASAP! I cannot reply to a single email and I have a large amount of business emails I need to respond to shortly.

I have attached a screenshot of the error I was getting... That error comes up EVERY time I click Reply, to respond to a message. I was able to reply to 1 email about 20 minutes ago, so this started immediatly after that.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can get this fixed quickly? LIke I said, I have a large amount of emails that need a response tonight.

Thank you!
- Jennifer

Ok, So here's the problem.
I have a HP Pavilion computer. It has Win ME. I updated the AOL on it to 9.0 then after the ran AOLs spyware protection program I was no longer able to do any web searches. All I could basically do was access my e-mail and IM's. Now however I can't access any program on my computer. When the computer starts up everything is fine...that is until I click on anything even the start button. The MSHTML.DLL error message keeps appearing.
I've tried going under safe mode and doing a system restore but even in safe mode I get an error message on certain programs.
I think the problem occured because the Internet Explorer on the computer is 3.0 and it isn't compatable witht the AOL 9.0. But since I can't get on-line with that computer I can't update it.
This comp was only being lended to me...it belongs to another family member. Please if anyone can help I would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

Answer:MSHTML.DLL Error won't let me access any programs.

We will need to know what the error is, is it related to, for example "EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module MSHTML.DLL"

One possibility is here:

Running XPsp3. Was trying to save an emailed and unnamed file type picture that contains some 'flash' movement, ie, a Christmas tree. No attachment clip was with the email, just the displayed 'live' picture content. Windows says the above subject-referenced file is not found in System32 and must be installed/reinstalled. Was this because of the missing attachment file clip, or where would I go to install this .hlp file? I've saved other similar live pics but I believe their displays within the received emails all contained an identifiable file type attachment as well.

Answer:missing System32 mshtml.hlp file?

see this thread here at the Piriform Forums, it may be helpful to you.

I have been doing alot of troubleshooting trying to get some more info on this weird error I have been getting. Its pretty random, can happen on any page. It is the "we appoligize for the bla bla, but this program needed to shutdown"

I have been on MS's knowledge base and it has shown that SP2 should of took care of this problem. I have the newest version of mshtml.dll (6.0.2900.2604). All the info i find is for older version of windows, or windows xp SP1. Nothing on this problem with the newest version.

Just trying to get some more info....let me know if you have had this problem.

Answer:mshtml.dll error in Internet Explorer

one word: firefox.

i really cant imagine why people still use that shitty internet explorer.

Well, if you have the retail version of CS, then the 1.3 mod file is not for you. You want the full CS retail file, you can get it here. Install that, and it should work better.

Hi, starting from yesterday night I've been getting these hits from my Kerio Firewall where a bunch of nowheres try to connect to my "Task Scheduler Engine" and the application involved on my PC is c:/Programs/WINNT/system32/mstask.exe
I've scanned the file using Norton AntiVirus but it was not identified as a virus. I tried to quarantine it but even after the quarantine there's still hits from my Kerio Firewall.
Also, at the same time I've found a Download.Trojan virus in my PC and I've deleted it. I am not sure if there is any connection between the Trojan virus and mstask.exe.
As I am a total idiot in computers, can someone tell me if this is a virus and what should I do with it. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Answer:I dunno if this is a virus

Hi innewton, mstask is a windows scheduler, not sure why it it coming up as a virus, I included a link to info on it.

http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/mstask/

Also you might try a different firewall, I use sygate it's free and very good, heres a link.

Good luck.

Alright, so I recently bought a harddrive from TigerDirect which ended up being faulty (Went much slower than it should have) So I deleted the partition and went and exchanged it. However, in doing so, my dual boot menu (Which had xp and vista on it) STILL has the vista from the previous harddrive on it and i have now a fresh copy of vista installed on the new harddrive, so there are 3 on the boot menu.

Windows XP
Vista
Vista

In that order, the 3rd vista will not work, and I do not know how to get rid of it. I don't want it to work, as there's no files at ALL for it to run off of, but I wish to know how to get it off of the boot menu. If anyone knows, please help.

Dariush

Answer:Help I did something stupid and dunno what to do

You can do it easily just by editing boot.ini which is on your active partition...First you have to tell windows to show you hidden files, go to My computer, on the Tools menu click on Folder options...than on the View tab you have to select "Show hidden files an folders"...now you can see your boot.ini fail on C: drive..right click on it and open with notepad...where it says [operating systems] you should have only 2 operative systems and you can delete the third one (old vista)...if you got any questions just post...cheers

my pc crashes when playing games. initially i thought this was a lot of problems but after resitting all of the pc and removing a faulty stick of ram i am still crashing. i cant properly install the radeon 9250 drivers from the ATI site when i download them and i have re-dloaded them several times to make sure it wasnt the download that was corrupted. for this reason i have no catalyst control cente even tho my dload included it. the pc tends to crash when loading new areas and other load intensive actions. i play no games that need a top end or even mid range pc to operate properly. my hard drive has recently been improved - it was properly cleaned before installing. it may have been in storage for upto a year before i put it in my pc but it was stored properly (in a uv bag in a box in a store room with many others).

i dont know if the problem is purely down to my graphics not installing properly tho i wonder if this is because my pc isnt saving data correctly.

games i play: Guild Wars, Anarchy Online (more crashing in GW tho i dunno if that game has installed properly either)

pc specs: 2100+ athlon processor, 512mb RAM, radeon 9250 gfx card. MOBO that supports all 3. windows xp 32x operating system (copy)

if anyone has a clue where to help me start that would be brilliant

Answer:i dunno where to start

So have you tested the memory? If not I'd do it, or even do it again to make sure you don't have more memory problems: http://www.memtest.org/

Also inspect the capacitors on the motherboard, see here for what they look like: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=195

Also for the ATI drivers, you have to use version 6.5 or older, the latest no longer support the Radeon 9250 and older cards.

I'm not too much of a php buff (I don' know anyting) but I know it was working and for some reason now it's not. I was messing with some security settings and cleaning up my Inetpub\wwwroot folder and eventually I noticed my php page wasn't functioning anymore.

I'm running WinXP Pro, and just reinstalled IIS 5.1. I got the php binary from php.net and installed it (ver 4.3.7). I gave IUSR Read & Execute privileges to php.exe and php4ts.dll and IUSR Read privileges to sessiondata and uploadtemp directories, which is what the installer said I would probably have to do for all practical purposes.

The security settings on the wwwroot files all have IUSR access privileges.

The .php file in question uses some output generated into an .xml file by a BitTorrent client (Azureus). The first time I put all the chunks together it worked fine, the php script executed correctly, drew data from the xml file and displayed it neatly formatted the way it was supposed to. Now all I get is this...

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

As little as I know, it seems obvious that the error is that no "HTTP headers" are being "returned".

I really don't know too much about php yet. I figure I'm not doing anything grossly complicated so the error must be pretty basic.

The php binary automatically puts in cgi.force_redirect = 0 into c:\windows\p... Read more

OK, so basically the computers running badly and its just not possible to play any full screen games (as old as BF 1942 for example) and im not sure if i get many popups coc i use firefox and its good at blocking, anyway, ive tried a few antiviruses and the problem still exists. I know this is barely any info but what do i do now?

Answer:Infected And Dunno What To Do

Also, i forgot to mention that i went into msconfig and looked under the startup tab. I found a few suspicious files and stopped them from starting. In case you want to know what they are:
utorrent.exe
funk.exe
the third is a blank name with no command, with a location of "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run"

well i stopped these but no luck, still no fix.
