Preferred Solution: Lenovo t440 BSOD after closing the lid (hibernate selected)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Lenovo t440 BSOD after closing the lid (hibernate selected)

The BSOD blames the driver to Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. Can you update it? It seems that the Intel? PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth? technology for Windows 7* 64-bit (WP) and Intel? PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7* will work for you. Try to install ithose.

Also free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver SynTPEnh.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Report us for any further BSOD after doing these two.

Answer:W510 does not hibernate when closing lid

Have you checked both the Lenovo Power Manager settings, as well as the Windows Power management settings to see if they are consistent ? In particular, check the Lenovo Power Manager Power Plan particulars for Idle Timers, Enter System Hibernation to make sure that Hibernation is not turned off for the AC vs. Battery power plan you are using.

I've had this thinkpad yoga 460 for almost two years and everything's worked really well so far. Recently, I've had trouble with the sleep and hibernate functions. When I close the lid the screen turns off but the computer stays on. The red LED on the top stays solid red and reopening the laptop brings me right back to the desktop without loading anything or prompting me for a password. If I go to the power settings and change something, it works for once cycle. Example: It's not working. I change the power settings from hibernate to sleep when I close the lid on batter power. I close the lid and it goes to sleep. I open the lid and am promped to log in again. If I close the lid again after that, the screen shuts off but, the computer remains on. Unchecking "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" has no effect. I don't know what else to check. It's really not a huge deal but it's kind of annoying. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Dell E6500 - few years old.  Now shuts down after closing the lid after several hours - at least when left closed over night - even when on AC power.
This behavior is new as for the longest time it would simply go to sleep as desired.
The close lid behavior is still set to sleep.    It must power down hard because when I lift the lid in the morning, Windows 7 wants to recover from unexpected shutdown.

Again, this happens after the lid is closed for some time while on AC power.   Frustrating as it is used to sleep and would wake up when I needed it to.

Hi,
Please visit www.support.dell.com and download and install the latest video drivers and BIOS for your system from the Drivers and Downloads page. You must select the correct version of Operating System and then update relevant drivers.
Alternately, you can also click on the link mentioned below for the Drivers & Downloads Home page  :
http://dell.to/QjjZDA
Please ensure you do not have any external devices like a Printer, external hard drive, etc. connected to the system when updating BIOS. Also, please remove any dvd disks which may be in the DVD Drive prior to the BIOS update. The AC Adapter must be connected to the system during the update.
Hope this helps resolve the issue for you.
Please reply in case you have any further queries.

Hello everyone, I'm having the issue noted above. BSODs attribute the crash to either one of two files: cdd.dll (most commonly) and win32k.sys (only once). Screen turns jagged, goes black and then BSOD but only occasionally. I've had this crashes happen to me only 4 times in a whole week already. World of Warcraft crashes were all succesive, but after updating Catalyst drivers it never happened again. PC was crash-free for 3 or 4 days (thought it may have solved the issue and I could stop worrying about faulty hardware components) but yesterday night closing Chrome it happened again. I turned off Aero desktop after that, just in case.

The problem is I can't find any Memory dump or minidump for those BSODs even though settings are on for that (maybe MEMORY.DMP is too large? I have 15 free Gb out of 320 on my boot drive. I changed it to minidumps just in case. Oh, also, it was already set to overwrite so no idea what's going on). Could not find them manually nor could SF Diagnostics tools which I just ran.

My rig is new, only about 3 months old and no hardware changes since. The only components coming from my older PC are the boot HDD and graphics card. The only thing that's happened is 3 or 4 power outages in December but BSODs started only last week. If any hardware components are malfunctioning they are luckily under warranty but I need to determine if that's the case.

Only other strange thing is that, when gathering my rig's data for this post, Everest shows my Motherboa... Read more

Answer:BSOD when resizing/closing World of Warcraft, also when closing Chrome

Hi Haxiel.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440 and the batteries are showing battery error in the Power Manager. I am unable to update my BIOS to see if that will solve it and my batteries don't seem to be eligible for a Firmware update. My Warranty is also expired. Anyone have any suggestions? error is showing up on both batteries  (Front internal and rear removable). Laptop works fine when plugged in but will not power on if it does not have a charger connected. Batteries don't charge at all (With or without it being powered on) All suggestions welcome. Would prefer not to have to get a new battery set as these ones are relatively new and shouldn't be throwing this error. I do not have a spare Thinkpad I can test the batteries in or that I can test a known good battery from.

Hey Guys,I'm trying to hookup my Thinkpad T440 to my HDTV via a displayport to hdmi converter, than a regular hdml cable from the converter to the TV. The video works fine, but the audio has been an issue. Just doing some cursory browsing of the forums, it seems like there are a few things at play here, mainly 1) problems with individual converters, and 2) whether or not the laptop itself supports audio passthrough over the displayport. So my question is this, before I start buying different converters to see if it works, does the T440 with integrated Intel 4400 graphics even support audio pass through over the displayport? That piece of information does not seem readily available anywhere I look, especially for this specific model number (not the T440s). If so, anyone know which converter is giving people the best luck? Thanks for the help.

Answer:Lenovo T440 and Displayport Audio

As a quick addendum to the post (I didn't see an edit button), to summarize I understand that audio will be passed through if the laptop supports it. Thats the response I found in other threads.I am specifically asking how to find out if my laptop "supports it" (aside from buying random cables just to try and cross your fingers), which is the T440 Thinkpad with integrated Intel 4400 graphics. Thanks!

T440 shuts off in:WindowsBIOSPXEThis happens if the AC Adapter (tried multiple) is plugged in, not plugged in. I've also un plugged the internal battery, same problem happens. I've tried new RAM, resetting CMOS connection, no SSD. It always shuts off. I've noticed that the CPU fan comes on right at power up but shuts down after and am not sure if this is normal or not.  Any ideas?

Hi all, recently I bought Lenovo t440. How long should last battery (s) in this laptop in normal or power saving use with screen at 65-80 %? I know this laptop have two batteries , and both of them are 3 cell right ? Extended battery have 6 cell, which I don't have, but might I would  buy it . I noticed my both batteries last max 3,5 hours max 4. This is from I what know - slightly short.  Before I buy some of this batteries I would like to know which one is maybe fault, or worst of them. Maybe is faulty inside battery, maybe plug in one.  My battery indicator in win 8.1 shows both bAtteries ... It seems windows recognize capacity or remaining storage from both of batteries in same time,or, should I say, it seems my laptop is running on power from both of them in real time... Maybe laptop should drain batteries one by one ? Ok, if this is normal, let's skip it     main question is still, how to check each batterie health / or one by one in mY T440  to see which one is maybe faulty or less good, for potential replacement ?   thank you all

What is the recommendation for running windows on these laptops. Windows 7 or 8? Im running windows 7 and see alot of instability and freezes. I downloaded lenovo update manager for any critical updates. So all drivers are up2date. Im just wondering whether windows 8 will be better? The laptop is top spec i7 8gb ram so im baffled on why I am getting poor performance by just doing minimal tasks (opening word documents, excel , skype).

Hi Nishen,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system freezing on your ThinkPad T440.

Check if there is any virus in your system, you can use Microsoft security essential to scan.
Run Lenovo Solutions Center and run hardware scan to verify if there is any hardware issue in the system.
Boot the system into safe mode option and check if the system freezes in that also?
Perform clean boot option.

Hope this helps.

Hi all, I have a problem with the Fn key on my T440. It appears that the Fn key is hijacking the entire keyboard and doesn't let go regardless of what I do. I have toggled and played around every option in the bios including enabling/disabling FnLock, Sticky Fn, and Ctrl/Fn swap to no avail. The way the Fn key is hijacking everything is as follows. ESC key *always* toggles Fn lock on its own, so I don't have an ESC key at all. When the Fn key's light is off, the keyboard (alpha and num keys) don't type anything, but it seems like the keys are sending keycodes which should be sent when combined with Fn. In other words, when I press the 's' key, for example, I don't see anything typed, but a 'OneDrive' window pops up instead. This tells me the hardware key is fine and is getting pressed, but the computer assumes the Fn key is pressed *at all times* even though the Fn light is off. This happens with every key on the keyboard. Additionally, if the Fn light is off, the F1-F12 keys work as F1-F12 keys, which is expected (even though, at the same time, the alphanumeric keys don't work as expected). And if the Fn light is on, the F1-F12 keys initiate their special function, again, as expected. I can toggle Fn light by pressing only the ESC key, as mentioned. I have also installed every driver on the face of planet that is related to my model from lenovo support site. Nothing helps. I'm now typing this with a usb keyboard plugged into the laptop. This seems to... Read more

Hello,If there is somebody who could help me with this issue, I would really appreciate it.I have recieved at work a lenovo t440 notebook, everything worked fine, untill one day I noticed that I cannot conect to the internet via lan cable. I plug in the cable and it is not detected. I checked the cable to another notebook and it was working. I have a Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM controller, I have re-installed both network drivers from lenovo and intel websites and nothing helps. I've tried as well to get automatically from windows update, no result. Went to bios cheked if the lan connection is enabled, everything was in place. Is there anything I missed? I noticed a weird behaviour, if I connect through wireless network, after sometime the lan connection is established and I can use it, but without wireless connection it doesn't work. Any suggestions what could have caused this issue?Thank you,Mark

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T440. I have replaced the trackpad with an older style trackpad, after putting everything back together it seemed as if everything was fine, but then I noticed that the delete key, PgUp, PgDn and PrtSc were not working. Note, the delete key does not respond even when I'm in the BIOS. I find it very hard to believe that I've damaged the keyboard and thus the functionality of some keys has been lost, I have examined the connecting ribbon cable and connection socket carefully, they are undamaged and free of debree. Can anyone give me any other suggestions? An external USB keyboard works fine.Delete Key doesn't work in BIOS.

Hey, just tried to install an SSD drive into my T440 today and had to change the boot priorities in BIOS. Wasn't able to do so as it is asking for a password (and for the fingerprint first), and if simply pressed enter - it goes into BIOS but won't let change anything.Obviously I can't remember what the password is otherwise I wouldn't be typing here. Oddly enough it recognizes my fingerprint (thanks for that), but still need a password (?). Any solution? Am I missing something here? ThanksVictor

Obvious to anyone. You have three malware apps running live at the same time. You have Avast, Kaspersky, and AVG.

You need to remove them all and install Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST.

If you continue to crash even after removing them upload the DMP file as you have old drivers that need updating.

Hi everyone, I need some much needed help with this issue.  I have a Lenovo T440, brand new, out of the box fresh that I setup for a user in my office.  Here are the following steps that I have completed so far:  -- Upgraded the RAM to 8GIG--Transfered over user profile using WET (Windows Easy Transfer)--Applied Updates --Installed Symantec Anti Virus Protection  The 1st set of problems after I initally setup the unit. The laptop had issues with Windows updates were it would just hang constantly during the update process, mostly during the "Preparing to Configure" part. What I did was remove Windows Security Essentials and afterwards the updates ran without a problem.  The 2nd set of problems started happening today. The laptop is docked to a native docktng station, but the monitors will turn off and on again. I searched these forums and found that it may be a driver issue. I will try this solution out later today.  The 3rd set of problems has to do with Outlook Home and Business 2010. The user sometimes cannot see e-mails in the "Reading Pane" and sometimes he cannot get the BCC feature to show the Global Address List. Also, his keyboard will stop working while trying to type an e-mail.  The T440 that is being used right now is actually the 2nd model that I have received, because I had to RMA the 1st one. Does anyone have any insight into these issues? Much thanks in advance.

Answer:Lenovo T440 Multiple Issues, Outlook, Displays

Greetings, On your 2nd issue what information did you find about driver issues?  I have 7 new t440P laptops and one is having problems with dual montiors when using a lenovo pro dock.  My laptops are built from the same image so I don't understand why I have not experienced the problem elsewhere.  Windows 7 - 32 bit The user describes it as the monitors shutting off briefly or doing a deguass.  It happens randomly, on both monitors at the same time and doesn't seem to be a problem when un-docked. I have yet to actually see it happen myself. I've tried diagnosing it as a hardware problem and have done the following so far: Flipped the VGA and DVI cables on the orginal LCDs.Replaced VGA and DVI cables on the orginal LCDs.Replaced the orginal LCDs with new LEDs.Had user remove additional USB devices from machine.Replaced the dock.Moved the hard drive from the orginal t440p to another t440p.Replaced the power supply to the dock.Replaced power strip everything is plugged into. After each step the problem happened again. Currently I am trying to run a extension cord from a different power source to see if that has any effect on the issue since I have not been able to resolve the problem as of yet.  I have not done anything with drivers or software since that didn't seem like a productive road to follow. Device driver info: Inter HD 4600, ver: 9.18.10.3272

Hello everyone.Be happy to be part of your community, but not to happy to create my first post because of some problem my notebook is causing.I bought a "new" lenovo, (it's not new, actually it was made in august 2014, but first time opened in january 2015.) thinkpad T440, but from the very first time, it causes me pain in my eyes. As a 15,6" laptop user, I thought, the problem is that it's smaller display so my eyes need to adapt. But after 10 days of pain, i thought that 10 days are enough to make my eyes adapt for such display. Next what i thought was that my previous laptop Ideapad Y580 resolution which was FHD 1920x1080, is bigger than one i have now (just basic HD ready 1366x768), is causing me problems for my eyes. Again, not true because I tried to work on some other laptop just to try which were HD ready too, and no problems detected. After that, I started to google a little bit and I found, that it could possibly be, that PWM is causing me an eye strain. Well, something about it can be true, because as i put my display to full brightness, i was feeling more relaxed on eyes, than when brightness was lower. I recorded screen on mobile and I was able to evidently see that there were "grey" stripes refreshing trough display (lower the brightness, the bigger the stripes). But I was not able to find anywhere, that this model T440 can cause such problems. Even on notebookcheck they say:"Lenovo uses pulse width modulation (PWM) for the brightness control of the reviewed dis... Read more

Hi!  3 weeks ago, I bought a new T440 laptop. It is one of those that have the buttons for trackpoint users painted on the touchpad. Because I prefer the trackpoint, I've disabled the touchpad function, so now it is only used for left- and right-clicks. Unfortunately, in the last week or so, the left-click function has become poorer and poorer. Sometimes it works with the first click, but often I have to click twice for something to happen, sometimes even 3-5 times. When it doesn't work, I have to use some force and not just click, but rather hit the touchpad with my thumb. That usually gets the click through. But it's time consuming and annoying, because I never know how many clicks it will take to open anything. Right-click seems to be working fine, but I also don't use it that often.  I have 3 years of warranty on this computer, but I bought it in Estonia, as I was visiting my family for a week. Now I'm back in Germany where I study and I'm not sure I can use the warranty here.... Right now, the only solution would be buying an external mouse, but I have to be mobile with my laptop and a mouse would be a nuisance anywhere other than at my own desk.  I would be very thankful for any ideas on how to solve this problem or even just for information on what might be causing the problem.

you can check your international warranty entitlement on the following site; I'm pretty sure your T440 will be covered in Germany because the systems are also sold there.

I've spent hours looking everywhere for a fix, but unfortunately without success. I have a Lenovo T440 (clean Win10 Installation over DVD) where the connections over Wifi works but not with the network cable. When I connect the Network Cable to the Lenovo T440 there is the message "Unidentified Network". No internet access. The Network cable connections is working on several other machines, just not with the Lenovo T440. Im also not able to boot over network. All devices on the machine are up to date, except:In the device management, there is shown the following device with error "Intel(R) Active Management Technology - SOL (COM3)" (Device status: The device can not be started. (Code 10). Any suggestions what could have caused this issue?Thank you!

I got my brand new lenovo g50-30 and installed Windows 10 and Uinux Ubuntu on it. On Win10 when i close my laptop it goes to sleep. After ~3 hours of sleep it shuts down. I've found power menu and found that after 180 mins (3 hours) my laptop moves from sleep state to hibernate state. But as I sad previosly  it just shuts down without any hybernation. I thought that that was just issue of Win10 and started Linux Ubuntu. I was curios about aviability of hybirnate function and browsed power options and i've found that in options hibernate option is unactive so I decided to browse BIOS options for hibernate and didn't found it even there. So i have one question: is that some kind of issue that Lenovo g50-30 have no hibernate function or it isn't provided for that model of Lenovo laptops ?

Answer:Lenovo G50-30 no hibernate function.

hi Kirill20,

Welcome to the Forums.

When hybrid sleep is ON under the advanced power options, the machine saves a hiberfil.sys file when the machine goes into hibernation.
  - Link to picture

I don't have a G50-30 here for testing but try the following::
1. In Windows, open a command prompt as admin and type:

powercfg -h off
powercfg -h on

This command turns off hibernation and turns it back ON (this is also recreates the hiberfil.sys file).

2. Open power options and ensure that hybrid sleep is ON then set Hibernate to 1min.
  - Link to picture

3. Open a few folders / programs then manually put the computer to sleep. When the power button blinks (sleep state) then goes solid (saving hibernation state to hiberfil.sys) then power light goes off (successfully saved hibernation state to hiberfil.sys file), try to turn on the computer and it should automatically call the hiberfil.sys file (which shows the last apps that were opened).

Hello, I have the same issues like in this thread. I have tried the proposed solutions and with no success. Having these problems for months, I decided to come to the Lenovo forums, so maybe this time I can solve them. In my case, sometimes (not every time), the sleep or hibernate function doesn't work properly, the laptop will freeze just before going to sleep/hibernation mode. The display is turned off, the buttons won't respond (they are lit) and it seems to go on in this state for ever. Once I left it in this state for 30 minutes, but nothing happened, so I had to turn it off from the button. It is hard to test this, because it enter in hibernation fine for 3-4 times in a row, then next time, it will freeze. To me this behaviour is unacceptable for a laptop. Saving the open programs and windows is important for productivity, and it also means that in the end, I cannot rely on this machine, except if I save everything and close all the apps, like I would do a shutdown. I tried all kinds of things, disabling hybrid sleep or whatever, power saving options, etc.I have installed the most recent bios update, etc. I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10. The problem was present with Windows 8.1 from the fresh installation. So I have this issue from day 1. Also, more recently, after a forced shutdown like this, the fonts get blurry, and I need to do an other restart to fix them. The machine works great in terms of performance, but these problems are s... Hi All, I am new in here. I have lenovo 3000 Y410. i have downgrade my lenovo from vista to xp. i added new 1GB RAM crossair so now my lenovo have 2GB RAM because sometime my lenovo could not hibernate and the xp give me warning that said "the memory is low" or something like that. but although the memory already 2GB my lenovo still cannot hibernate and the xp still said that warning.I like to hibernate my laptop, beause with the hibernate, my lenovo can save batery and the programs will be still open that have be used before it goes hibernate. Anyone have same problem with me? can help me? Thanks before...  sorry my english bad...

Answer:Lenovo 3000 Y410 - Cannot Hibernate

Ensure that you have enough free space available in your hard drive. I've read somewhere that you need as much free space as you have RAM [2GB RAM means 2GB free space required]. Not sure as I am not a big user of hibernation.

Hi.....since i bought his laptop two days ago i cant find solution for my problem. When i close the lid my laptop should be in sleep mode.I see that power light is flashing constantly and when i open the lid the system restarts... i updatetd the latest drivers for my intel card and i dont know what else to do... is there any solution for this problem???please help me tnx in advance Dimitar VandovskiMacedonia

Answer:Lenovo G530 Closing Lid

Dimitar, when the machine is sleeping, the power light does flash, at about a medium speed. This is to warn you that it is sleeping, not fully powered down, though you will get many hours of battery life during the sleep. Also, this is a fast machine, and it does come back to life very quickly when you open the lid. You can see for sure that it is sleeping by enabling 'Require a password on waking'. You can see for sure that closing the lid is set to sleep the machine by setting under 'Choose what closing the lid does' . Both of these settings are in the Power Manager, which you can access quickly by double-clicking the battery symbol in lower right of the screen. Or, you can find it in the Control Panels. Best regards,C. Here's a link from Microsoft in case it's hard to find the control links on Vista. On Windows 7, they are right in front of you as soon as you open the Power Manager. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Change-what-happens-when-you-close-your-mobile-PC-l...

Hi Neramusis, welcome to the forums.

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad?

The only idea that I have right now is why do you try to update the drivers of you computer, specially the Lenovo Power Management Driver.

This are my tips about updating drivers on the Thinkpad:

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers.

I know that this is "trial and error", but I think that updating the drivers may help with this issue.

Yes, I am working on my nephew's r61 laptop... we just had a warranty replacement of the hard drive, and went to install win 7 on his comptuer as windows xp had this issue from the restore as well. I cannot get the computer to restart from the windows menu.. nor can I get it to shut down or hibernate.. In all instance it will go through the restarting or shutting down / hibernating screen, adn then the screen goes black.. the hd light will flicker a little bit and this just stays this way until I press and hold the power button to turn off the laptop manually. as far as I know all the correct power management drivers / chip set drivers / video drivers are installed but I cannot get the thing to behave as it should... Any suggestions?  Before putting windows 7 on his laptop, windows XP did the same thing (from the restore cd.. restored to factory condition) I also updated the bios to see if that would help this issue..  It is almost like an ACPI issue.. but i'm not sure Thanks and please help !

Answer:Lenovo r61 - Unable to Shutdown / Restart / Hibernate

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If Win XP also did this with all lenovo's power drivers installed, then it's probably hardware issue, try running PC Doctor's test on it. However, there is no easy way for PC Doctor to detect such kind of issues. Further, try to boot from LiveCD of Ubuntu, if you experience the same issue in linux, then it would definitely be hardware problem in my view.

Since it's under warranty, I would suggest giving lenovo support a call as a last resort.

Hope this helps.

Hello, I just started using this laptop and I got a solid state drive because I wanted to have a much faster boot time and better overall performance.  When I shutdown and reboot I certainly see a big improvement relative to shutting down and rebooting my current laptop.  Unfortunately not so for hibernation.  If I hibernate the screen goes black and it seems as if the computer is off except for the flashing red dot in the bottom right hand corner that is part of the thinkpad logo is still flashing.for quite a while. When you start it from hibernation it takes 50 to 60 seconds to get to the login screen and it takes longer at points that seem more awkward relative to the last computer I had.  Usually once you see a windows screen you expect that within 10 to 15 seconds you will have a login and after logging in within 5 seconds you will see the desktop.  All of the long pauses required to start from hibernation violate these expectations so it makes it see like forever. This is far worse than my normal non SSD hard drive.  I heard it takes time for this to improve?  How much time?  When will this improve its terrible now I have just as well purchased a HDD. ~J

Hi everybody! I've bought Lenovo M490s notebook one week ago without OS. I've installed Windows 7 Professional x64 retail.First of all I could not find software that controls Function keys. After installing every driver and software from support page (M490s) my function keys just doesnt work except Fn+F1 sleep, Fn+F2 turn off the screen, Fn+F6 disable touchpad and play buttons. Also no information was displaying on the screen after pressing such buttons - no volume and brightness level. After doing some research I've found and installed Hotkey Features Integration from Lenovo M490 (without S) support page. Every function key is started to work, information on the screen also begin to display (volume and brightness level). Now I spotted a huge problem, after 3 or 4 hibernation volume and brightness keys (fn+up,down, left, right) just stopping to work!!! Fn+F1-F12 combinations are working normal. Then after reboot brightness and volume keys are working again!!Please help me to solve this problem, I cant live without hibernation! Thanks!!!

Hi, I recently bought a Lenovo 3000 G410 2049-55Q laptop. However, I am disappointed to know that there isnt any hibernate option in the power settings. I am on Windows XP SP2 and have installed the latest drivers from the IBM website. The Energy cut poer driver is one of them. I have tried the powercfg /a command and it says that the system only supports standby (S3) option and does not support hibernation. Can someone please confirm this? Is there still a way to hibernate the system? Many thanks,Sachin

Answer:Lenovo 3000 G410 2049-55Q - No Hibernate option?

To check if your Lenovo G410 laptop support hibernation in XP SP2, try the following steps. Click "Start" then "Turn off Computer", the resulting dialog box will show 3 options - "Standby", "Turn Off" and "Restart" Then hold down the Shift Key while the Turn off Computer dialog box is in on the screen.  Windows obliges by changing back and forth between Standby and Hibernate. If it does not change then hibernation might not be supported. But if it does, then you can manually hibernate your G410.

Lately I have been noticing that after my laptop wakes up from sleep that the sensitivity on my touchpad drops. This is fixed after a restart but I would rather not have to do that everytime. I usually just use a mouse but that is no fun on my lap and I would like to get this fixed if possible. I have tried updating the drivers which all seem to be up to date and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the touchpad several times. I am long out of my warranty period and would like to know if anyone here may have a fix.  Thank you.

Hi, Urocyon                -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Do you close any games or intensive programs before it goes to sleep, its likely that it is slow because it has to load intensive programs when it wakes up, like having tons of start-up programs.

Answer:Lenovo G770 Fan not spinning up after resume from sleep or hibernate

Hey Abdul,

Welcome back.   If the fan runs normally on first boot until you suspend / resume, then I might imagine this is power management quirk, or something confused in the embedded controller.

1) Try going into BIOS and reload defaults - this might refresh values there.

2) Try uninstall / reinstall power management driver and the energy cut software (Idea power manager).

Did you recently update BIOS or drivers?

I would also try some temp monitoring software just to see how CPU temps run after you come back from sleep to see if the fan should be running.

Soon as I close the lid, you hear it start up again and when I open lid, it shows Novo Button Menu.Never ending loop. Although sometimes, hitting the power button twice will shut it down completely. But why is this suddenly happening?

I have been using a Lenovo twist for the last 6 months. Great machine love it. However for the last several weeks I have noticed when I shut the cover and then reopen it after a few hours the system reboots. This happens even though the action on closing the cover is to go to SLEEP state. I have checked the system settings to ensure that the action of closing the cover only sets the laptop to SLEEP mode. Any pointers on how to resolve this issue. OS - Windows 8.1

Answer:Lenovo Twist reboots on closing the cover

Hello and welcome,

Check your idle timers.  It may be set to shut down after a certain time span.  It would sleep first, then on expiration of the shut down timer would wake up and shut down.  (Or hibernate - or whatever Win 8 does....)

I have Lenovo B590. From time to time I have a problem that it behaves like the lid is closing but physically the lid is open all the time. It looks in this way that the dispaly dims or laptop hibernates or laptop turns off - depending on what I have choosed in power options for "When I close the lid" option. The problem occurs only form time to time ie: display dims for a while and is OK by about one minute, then it dim again for a while and it repeats by an hour. After that everything is OK by for example 10 days and then the dimming problem returns and after few hours everything is OK again by for example 5 days. etc. etc. I made warranty claim but the seller wrote to me that it's because of my software or operating system. It's impossible because I have also the same model of Lenovo and I have there the same system and software and there's no problem like that (On both laptops I have disk with the same ghost). How can I proove to the seller that it's problem with a sensor (or cable from sensor to motherboard etc - I don't know exactly what causes that problem - but it has to be mechanical problem)? .

Answer:Lenovo B590 - problem with closing lid sensor

Hi emes1 ,

Greetings.

It would be difficult to isolate the isue at the moment since it is intermittent.
Aside from energy features that may affect display such as adaptive brightness setting to off and setting to high performance .

But to best challenge a software issue from the hardware is to use the factory image as a default.
This would delete everything and restore it back the way it was shipped from an out of the box settings.
Try to back up your files before deciding to use the One Key Recovery reset.

If this issue would also happen outside Windows, like turning on the pc and using the Novo Key to power up for the BIOS set up menu. Challenge the display by moving the pc and tapping the lid to and fro . If by moving or tapping that the issue would happen then most likely a mechanical failure.

So issue may not only be the sensors board but may actually be a failing backlight or cable .
If same event happens again , try to plug it on an external monitor to check .
Likewise  see if there are images showing faintly at the background using a pen light then move the mouse is the process is active or frozen.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

There should not be any gap when the laptop is closed but on the right side, there is a decent amount of gap which results in dust and there appears to be a slight bend in the screen. How did this happen and what should I do?

Help, please!!Two days ago in windows 8 store popped up an update to windows 8.1 for my pc. I am an owner of two notebook PC-s, both Lenovo, G580(which upgraded successfully without any issues, also it has intel inside) and G585(which upgraded without any issues, untill the set up completed and it booted up, it has AMD)So the AMD one, Lenovo G585, refuses to shut down, restart, sleep or hibernate, also when i put it to shut down it blacks out the screen for couple of minutes then starts turning on again as if i only restarted it without ever actually powering off (i hear the fan all the time and the lights are on) the only way to shut it down is to force it to turn off, meaning i have to press the power button for a couple of seconds. Along with other issues(brightness, watermark, sound, start screen colors) this is the only one i wasn't able to resolve. I have contacted my Lenovo support and they said there is nothing they can do and that i can only wait for an update... and in the meantime am i supposed to let this windows 8.1 upgrade mess up my new notebook, cos i cant keep shuting it down over the button and i need it for work, and keeping it on all the time doesn't seem like a solution, help?Ok, so i was stupid enough not to run windows 8 backup before i started this update, silly me, thinking what could go wrong, it's not like M$ described this upgrade as something like evolution of the century, but enough about that i like 8.1 more anyway so even if i did have bac... Hi, My lenovo G560 always loses the following settings and preferences when coming out of sleep/hibernate: -touchpad no longer disabled-screen dim/power settings are put back to default Is there any way to correct this? Also, is there any way to make the touchpad automatically disable when the mouse is plugged in, the driver I have installed doesn't do this properly. Thanks!

Hello dellis,

For the issue which you are facing with your system, I suggest you to to uninstall the Lenovo Energy Management driver from the Programs and Features. After that please reinstall the updated Energy Management driver from the below mentioned web link according to your Operating System.

Hi The laptop was working perfectly until i updated the intel HD graphics driver to version 23.20.16.4849 (27/10/17).  As soon as I did this, the machine would not wake from either sleep or hibernate mode when the lid was shut. When I open the lid it will either enter staright into a black screen, and I can hear the fan spinning with lights to the right hand side but no further activity. Sometimes the Lenovo log appears on the screen first and then enters into a blank screen state. I am on Bios Lenovo C6CN34WW 29/10/15 As soon as I press and hold the power button to turn off, and then turn on again the machine loads into windows perfectly, with a visible display.  Any suggestions how to fix this? Thanks

I've been using this laptop for about a year now and it had its fair share of crashes and lag but this new crash is by far the worst of them all. Basically what happens is my laptop is running normally and suddenly all of my apps close and my OS disappears. I cannot access my taskbar and the windows button does not work. The only thing that lets me get to my browser is through the links in the League of Legends client. Games that are currently running do not seem to be closed when everything else disappears. The only way I know to get my laptop working again is to ctrl+alt+delete and log off, then log back on.
Is there a solution for this? Or will I just have to buy a new laptop?
I'm using this laptop for school and if I have to buy a new laptop, a suggestion for a cheap laptop would be appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Edge e431 Windows OS randomly closing

I would say that you have a problem with your software rather than your hardware. Certainly a year old laptop should still have plenty of life left in it.
You should have a facility on your machine to reset it back to when you first bought it - read you documentation and look for either reinstalling your operating system or resetting to factory setting.
If you don't have your documentation, download it here:

Open the Event Viewer utility in your Administrative Tools control panel and look through your System and Application logs for entries flagged with "Error" or "Warning", especially those which mention the "Explorer.exe" program, or whose time-stamps coincide with the occurrences of the problem.Double-clicking on such an entry will open a properties window with more detailed information on the error; post the details from a representative sample of some of the different error messages (please don't post duplicates of a given entry, or flood us with the entire contents of the logs). To post the details:In the Properties window of a given entry, click on the button with the graphic of two pieces of paper on it; the button is at the right of the window just below the up arrow/down arrowbuttons. You won't see anything happen when you click the button, but it will copy all of the details to the Windows clipboard. You can then paste the details into your next post here.

Question: BSOD on hibernate

Hello all,

Sometimes I experience a BSOD when my laptop goes to hybernate. It happends all the way on the end of the hybernation cycle, so the laptop is actually off, harddisk spins down, lights and screen are out, but then after a few seconds I get a BSOD.

Trouble is that it does not happen all the time, maybe 1 out of 5 times, but I cannot find the reason why.

The event log does not give me any real information, just this error:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x00000003, 0x866f7030, 0x83172ae0, 0x8aaa6658). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 020510-29203-01.

I get this errors:

If somebody can tell me what I should look for in these dump files, I can go forward with this

I have all the latest official drivers for 7 and no strange drivers, so that should not be the problem.

Answer:BSOD when going into Hibernate

The solitary crashdump points to your wifi card drivers (Realtek) as being responsible. The driver is very old (Apr 27, 2010) so you'll want to look for an update for it if possible. This is a Toshiba Satellite L675, so you'll want to go to the appropriate website and download the drivers from there.

Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of a problem with my laptop, and I was hoping someone here could help.

The thing is, every now and then I get a blue screen of death right after logging into XP after resuming from hibernate. It'll let me type in the password just fine, and then when it gets to the desktop, it bluescreens.

The blue screen shows no error code - the space where the error is usually displayed is blank. Just says the usual mumbo jumbo about dumping RAM to disk etc. How do I access the RAM dump or find out what's wrong?

I'm running an up-to-date install of XP Pro SP3 with multiple virus and spyware scanners, so I don't think it's malware.

Hardware is a Lenovo Thinkpad SL500 w/ Core2Duo P7370, 2.5GB RAM, GeForce 9300m GS, Realtek LAN chip, Conexant HD Audio, Ricoh FireWire/Expresscard/CardReader controller, and Intel a/b/g/n wifi. Any known driver conflicts?

Thanks in advance, this is really annoying me :P

Hi and Welcome!

Are you overclocking anything? If so, please reset to default optimal setting in BIOS. RushTop64.sys was blamed in the DMP, I've done some research and it seem to be Dual Core system of MSI or something similar. But the process running at the time of crash was OverclockingCe (may be overclocking center MSI), may be a overclocking software, I'm not sure, but perhaps you know.

Hi everyone,  I'm having a bit of trouble getting my SL500 to resume from hibernate reliably. Every 5 or 10 times, after logging in it'll just bluescreen. However, the bluescreen shows no error message. The space where there's usually an error code or message is just blank... I have the P7370 w/ 2.5GB of RAM and 9300M GS, running XP Pro SP3 x86-32. Anyone else having similar problems? I've already downgraded my BIOS to the factory version (1.23), which didn't help... Any ideas?

Hi.  I was wondering if guys have any ideas on this. I have a Lenovo P400 Touch laptop and everytime I close the lid or adjust it the screen flickers.  Sometimes it even goes out.  It usually comes back when I readjust the lid. Anyhow, when I'm using the laptop the screen usually never flickers.  Just when I readjust the lid or close the laptop. I had a service plan with Best Buy (which I don't have anymore) so I had them try to fix it.  After having it for 4 weeks they said they replaced the LCD screen and they said the screen checked out fine before they sent it back to me.  But when I got it back it eventually started doing the same thing, flickering when I close or adjust the lid.  So I don't think the problem is the LCD screen since it's a brand new LCD screen. What do you guys think the problem is and how can I fix it?

hi Tecmo_SB_Guy,

Thanks for Posting!

Best thing to isolate it first is to go inside the BIOS Mode.
Tap F2 When you turn on the computer.

Now Once inside BIOs Adjust the LCd and check if the proble is still there.

If No This has something to do with the Software,
If Yes, Then this is not Software, You might be having problem with the LCD Cable, a Lenovo system should have 1 Year standard warranty with Lenovo. You can give them a call for assistance

I've spent hours researching this annoying feature. If I leave the machine in sleep/hibernate state for more than about an hour and then open the lid, only the Lenovo logo is shown. CAD combo restarts but again only the logo is shown. I need to press the power button once, wait a few seconds then press the power button again. Then the laptop starts normally. The attached file shows my power settings. I appreciate any assistance. I have this problem whether I have my Wacom Pro S tablet attached or not. The laptop is brand new.

This issue started about 6 months ago and has gotten worse. in the beginning it only occured when i colosed the lid of the laptop to put it to sleep but did not occur or not as reularly when using the windows power menu and manually putting it to sleep. When it did occur white, pink and green horizontal lines/ pixels would dance up and down the screen. I monitor the temperature and it is within normal ranges. The mouse would also freeze and unfreeze and i have to patiently wait and to access the power option menu. a restart usually solves the problem. Now i am shutting it down completely and it is getting worse. it starts (with or without lines on the lenovo screen) but by the time i get to the sign in it is full of line and now the lower part is going grey and shifting to white. if i can access restart it solves the problem. i am then able to use the computer without any issues. I did a discharge of the battery and guage reset. since i mostly use it plugged in i keep the battery at 60%. I purchased the computer in May 2014 and had a power issue (I think, lenovo never comfirmed what the problem was). It was sent back and repaired in 2015 under warranty. I sadly think i got a lemon. When I belatedly checked the new owner checklist on the forum it also reminded me that i don't have one key recovery. Hi all, i have a lot of problem with my N500  running Win7 Pro x64. Almost each time i put my laptop in sleep or hibernate, i get a restart from Windows when i re-open the machine. I have the panel that ask if i want to start windows normally or in safe mode. it is displayed that windows had to be shutdown to prevent hardware or data failure. i updated drivers an windows , any ideas ?

Answer:: Lenovo 3000 N500 Windows 7 Restart/Shutdown when resume from Sleep or Hibernate -

Since there is no Win 7 Power driver supplied for N500 on regular download page, Create a Windows restore point first, in case this does not work, or Setup does not auto create a restore point. Install the System Interface driver found on THIS Lenovo beta download page first. Install the Power Manager driver found on same page. (Extract the zip files and run Setup.)

Hello All, My new Y410 Laptop keyboard does not respond when it wakes from a sleep or hibernate when windows resumes. I would say 7 out of 10 times it does that. I saw another thread here:http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&message.id=1666&query.id=19... But that option does not even exist in Devide Manager. I run the OEM Windows Vista that came along. In Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change Plan settings -> Change advanced power settings -> And there is NOTHING for pointing device or Keyboards. Is this a driver issue or power setting or a Hardware issue. Has anyone found a resolution to this? Could there be a registry setting? Anyone - Please Anyone who has a resolution, please advise and help. My Last resort will be to dump this garbage pile called VISTA and downgrade to Win XP. Anyone on Win XP has this issue too? Hopelessly awaiting a resolution.

Hi,

Whenever I do the 'Hibernate' or 'Sleep' function, a BSOD would appear and it would shut down. I have attached the SF file. I have restored the computer to previous states. But still this problem happens everytime.

Thanks for any help.

Hello .

The dumps appear to be caused by an old driver but I also see a mix of online security oriented

Hello,

First of all I'm so greatful that there are people in these forums dedicated to help on these BSOD-issues. Hopefully you can help me as well.

I experience random (or so it seems) BSOD when my PC goes to sleep. I cannot reproduce what is going on. What I can tell you is that rather often the PC freezes for up to a minute and then resumes normal operations. It is an HTPC so I watch a lot of TV on it. And nowhere is this more apparent, because suddently the PC just freezes.

Anyway, I have run chkdsk /f, sfc /scannow, memcheck86 and no errors are reported.

The dmp-files are attached as prescribed in the sticky-post in the forum.

Let me know if you need more info.

Best regards,
Mikkel

A small addition: I noticed my gpu is listed as standard VGA card. I had just uninstalled the GFX drivers prior to running this test. In fact it is an AMD 4200-series integrated GPU on my motherboard.

Best regards,
Mikkel

Answer:Occational BSOD at hibernate

Does this happen when your PC is transitioning INTO sleep or OUT OF sleep? Can you reconfigure your recovery settings to save a kernel dump instead of minidump and provide that on the next crash?

Hello,

This is my first post in this Forum. I hope I've posted it in the right place.
I very rarely need to use forums, nearly always manage to sort out problems
myself, but this time I'm stumped.

My apologies for such a long question, and for all the numbered bullet points, but
I hope they will help to clarify the issue.

1. My PC is a Dell Inspiron Desktop 580, running Window 7 Home Premium 64 bit version, 6.1.7601

2. The problem is BSOD when I try to go into hibernate or sleep mode.

3. Problems started immediately after some power glitches on 6 April.
My PC was on, but had shut down and restarted.

4. Now when I try to go into hibernate or sleep mode, I get the dreaded BlueScreen.
BSOD is viewable for only a few seconds before PC reboots itself,
but it is just about long enough to see that it is reporting some
malfunction associated with USB.

5. I have a USB-ISS Enhanced USB-I2C Module purchased from Devantech in July 2013.
This is a small board which implements a USB to I2C interface. It has worked perfectly
up 'til now, and in fact still appears to be working fine.

6. But it seems that the problem is related specifically this module, because when this is
unplugged and I try to go into hibernate or sleep mode, I do NOT get BlueScreen.

7. The BlueScreen problem on hibernate/sleep happens when the USB-ISS board
is plugged into ANY USB port, not just the one in use when power glitches occured.

8. Meanwhile, the USB-ISS mod... Read more

Hi,

Since a while, I'm unable to sleep my computer. Instead of sleeping, the screen goes black with the computer apparently still working (I can lock and unlock my computer 'blindly', and hear the lock/unlock sounds). After a while though, the system will then crash with a BSOD: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Attached is the zip file with the dumps etc,

Note to admins:this tool does not actually put the zip file on the desktop (which is D:\Desktop in my case) but simply in C:\Users\[username]\Desktop. Could potentially be confusing...

Folks,

I've been troubleshooting on my own with minimal success. Basically, it is a 9f Stop Error, which my research shows is a driver problems. Checking Device Manager, it appears all the items have the latest drivers. I ran the memory test and it passed. I ran 'chkdsk /f', 'sfc /scannow' and both are good. I have BlueScreen View and WinDbg to review minidump files. Lately, it is saying pci.sys is the issue. I'm not convinced as that is a Microsoft component. I can't seem to restore to a point before the problem.

I have a recently purchased Toshiba Satellite C660 running Windows 7 Pro SP1 in 32-bit mode (Anytime Upgrade from Home Premium) with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 640 GB hard drive. Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5740; Realtek HD Audio and Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Network card. I have an AOC 936W external monitor, Microsoft Comfort Desktop 5000 keyboard and mouse and a Samsung USB drive as external devices. But, detaching all the peripherals for several troubleshooting sessions made no difference in behavior.

I grabbed the SF utility to generate reports as the BSOD posting instructions recommend and I will include attachments.

Here's hoping the pros here can shed light and the upload goes well.

Crashes are being caused by your Realtek network driver. I believe there is a newer driver out. Try download it and seeing if it helps.

I have a persistent problem when sleeping or hibernating my machine.
On sleep or hibernating, the screen goes blank, hard discs is active for a while then it just stops but power remains on. I have to hold the power button to turn it off or if on batteries it will stay like that until it runs out of power.
On startup I get the message 'windows was not shut down properly...' with the choice of safe mode or normal startup.
Needless to say this is pretty annoying since I have to wait for system to start again and all my programs are lost.

I have trawled various forums in search of a fix but nothing has worked.
I resorted to wiping the partition and reinstalling windows but that hasnt helped so was a great waste of time. I resinstalled from the recovery cd that came with the notebook but the driver cd provided was for XP and not win 7 so I downloaded what I could from the samsung website but there are still a few things missing. however this doesnt appear to be the cause since the same problem persists as the factory install.

machine is samsung p560 notebook intel duo p8700 2.53ghz, 32 bit windows 7 pro sp1, 3GB ram

dump file is the same for each occurence.

please can anyone help ?

Answer:BSOD on sleep or hibernate

after quite a few months I have solved this now.
Turns out it was a utility called Connectify which is very handy as turns your machine into a local wifi hotspot but alas seemed to give sleep/hibernate issues with the lan/wifi cards. Disabling the service didnt help but total uninstall did.
shame but its better than the alternative of no sleep/hibernate function !

Hi guys

I hope you can help me with a very annoying problem.

For some time, I have gotten the BSOD every time my laptop is going to sleep or hibernate. This happens if i close the lip, if it automatically goes to sleep because of inactivity, or if i press sleep/hibernate.
What happens is my computer begins to shutdown, the screen turns black for a loong time and then i get the BSOD and it crashes.

I have today tried to update every driver, program i could find on the computer and Windows with no luck.
I have disabled sleep mode i power management, but this problem is still very annoying since i have to leave my laptop turned on overnight is I’m working on something that cannot be saved.

The Perflog is unfortunately in Danish, since my OS is in Danish, but i hope you are still able to make some sense of it.

Kind regards,
Jacob

Hello,

Your Intel WiFi Link drivers are what's causing your computer to crash. Almost every single BSOD was the same. Please download the latest version from here.

I'm pretty sure that updating the driver will fix your problem. There are some drivers that could use updating and it never hurts to do that.

hello forum,

i now get this BSOD since, well, quite a long time. i always thought it's a hardware defect, maybe a bad hard drive.
now it seems more to be a driver issue, i needed a new hard drive and the problem still exists.

it does not happen always, there are times when i can hibernate 12 times in a row without problems, but sometimes it happens once every day.
i get the same when switching to sleep mode.

i tried to solve it myself using windbg, but wasn't very lucky, i need a lot more experience obviously.

details about the system (older notebook) see my profile.
thanks for reading!

I upgraded Vista to 7 Home Premium 32bit 6 months ago on a Sony Vaio 'All In One' VGC-LV1S bought around 18 moths ago, and started getting the occasional BSOD after resuming from sleep or hibernate. It now happens every time. None of the device drivers are showing problems following the BSOD shut down and reboot.

Would be grateful for some help. Minidump zip attached and includes performance monitor (which says I don't have anti-virus but I'm actually running Kaspersky IS 2011 without any problems).

Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of trouble with my laptops (two completely different machines) BSOD'ing when they enter Standby or Hibernate. I'm not entirely certain, but it seems like the BSODs happen when Firefox and/or Dropbox are running.

According to a helpful person on Sevenforums (I posted an earlier dump there, but got no further replies), this was caused by my WiFi driver, but I've tried multiple versions without success.

The latest dumps (for the X200) are attached. Is it still the WiFi driver?

System configurations:

Thinkpad X200 | P8400 | 2x4GB matched DDR3 | Intel 5100AGN WiFi | Win7 Pro 64
Thinkpad X41T | Pentium M 758LV | 2GB DDR2 | Intel 2915ABG WiFi | Win7 Pro 32

The symptoms on both systems are exactly the same - hit the standby button, screen turns black and the machine stops responding, and 10-20 minutes later the machine BSODs (with the screen still off, so it's hard to tell...).

All drivers were installed via Lenovo System Update, and I've also tried WiFi drivers directly from Intel. I run MSSE and Windows Firewall, so nothing third-party there... Memtest86+ runs without errors for multiple passes, and both systems are completely Prime95-stable (Blend for hours on end).

Interestingly enough, I have a third machine here (Thinkpad R61) which is set up pretty much the exact same way, and even has no-nos like Daemon Tools installed - no such problems.

So, any bright ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello all,

I have been getting the BSOD for the last 3+ weeks whenever I try to hibernate my laptop or put into sleep (where eventually it will go into hibernate after a while).

Not sure which driver is causing this, so need expert advice to understand what is going wrong.

For Laptop details please see my profile.

I am uploading the SF logs and a couple of snapshots of the BSOD.

Thanks in advance
