Question: BSOD Under heavy load and occasianaly under low load, 0x00000000124

Hello everyone, thank you so much in advance

i recently built my first pc and thinking it would be an epic replacment to my old one i have instead been frustrated by BSOD and cant figure it out myself so i came hear for help.

most of the times i get it i am playing something like Far Cry 3 but i occasionaly get it playing alot less demanding games like Wow or even just streaming movies.

i have corsair h100i for my cpu cooler and i noticed my asus z97-k was reading at 118c so i thought maybe that was it and purchased 4 sp120 to load my case with to increase the airflow on the motherboard but it still runs at 118c and im still geting the BSOD

i have attatched a bunch of dump files

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Your CPU is calling a bugcheck because it received an error. This can typically happen when you are overclocking, BIOS settings incorrect or bad system drivers. If you are overclocking, please stop right now. Once we get your system stable, you can make a thread in the Overclocking section of this site and get help with overclocking without BSOD. As a last possibility, it could be a defective or failing CPU. With that said, lets try to create a stable environment before we worry about that.

First of all, please uninstall Norton Anti-virus and just for the purposes of getting your system stable, download and install MSE.

Remove Norton: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/englis...moval_Tool.exe

MSE: Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

Also while we are on this subject, remove Google Toolbar, and keep in mind this is a suggestion because I don't game on PC's, disable RazerGamebooster.

Make sure your BIOS is up to date. Reset your BIOS to default settings.

Remove ASUS crapware if any is installed. Sometimes they can cause problems
Clean Up Factory Bloatware

Make sure your Motherboard drivers are up to date.
Motherboards - Z97-K - ASUS

Some of the suggestions above are in the link below but try some of the things in it short of performing any type of install.

Question: Heavy load BSoD

Hello, joined these forums to deal with this problem, perhaps some others.

I have this oldy system that BSoDs whenever I start high graphics detail benchmarks on 3dmark01 SE.

In terms of problem causers, I have eliminated the CPU/RAM/Motherboard as the culprits, all thats left is the PSU/Vcard or some really odd hardware issue. Ive run prime95 w/ max cpu/mem load with no problems at all, but every time I apparantly run the video card at a high load it just BSoDs with a ntoskrnl.exe error

sys specs are:
W2k Pro (need to perhaps update this)
K6-2+ 450 @ 124fsb/550 some odd mhz
FIC VA-503+ Socket 7 AT style mobo
256mb PC133 SDRAM
Radeon 7500/LE vcard w/ 64mb onboard vram (built by sapphire)
AT style 250W psu thats about 10 years old...

Hello,
This is my first post here, so I hope I'm doing it right. I read the instructions, so here we go.

I have a Lenovo B570 laptop and I am experiencing BSODs it seems when the laptop is under heavy load, a lot of windows open due to my work, graphic editing software, skype etc.

I tried reinstalling Windows, but still have the same BSODs. I got 2 since the format which was some 10 days ago. I suspected it was a RAM issue so ran memtest a couple of times, RAM passed both times. Now I'm a bit confused what could be the problem.

I'm attaching the SF Diagnostic zip file. I hope somebody can help me with this, I'm tired of losing my work and redoing things because of this.

Thank you!

EDIT: I forgot to mention I also ran sfc /scannow, and had no issues there.

I also have BlueScreenView with four Dump files. If you would like access to these, please let me know. I am also currently running Driver Verifier.

Otherwise, this seems to happen when the CPU is under a heavy load (I do photogrammetric 3D modeling), however I have been watching the temperature with HWMonitor and it does not seem to rise much above 80 C.

I really appreciate the help. I built this computer myself and expected problems, but this is one that has not been resolved.

Thanks!

Answer:[SOLVED] BSOD when CPU is under heavy load

Hi,

We have two consistent bug checks:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a)

This indicates that a severe memory management error occurred.

BugCheck 1A, {5003, fffff70001080000, 3fe1b, 360800007fc34}

- The 1st parameter of the bug check is 5003 which indicates the working set free list is corrupt.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)

This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.

This bug check is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high. The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.

Is Windows 7 . . .

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
x64
- the original installed OS on the system?
Win 7
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- What is the age of system (hardware)?
2 months old (parts bought separately)
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
2 months old, no re-install
The BSoD appears every now and then after a while of playing games or watching high quality movies and streams. So far it has only happend when im playing online. For example: off-line Starcraft 2 is no problem, but when in online multiplayer it crashes about every second time. Heavy youtube watching also seems to cause it.
The first time it happend was august 19th. Before this there was no problems, except an harddisk error report on the day of system install.

Thanks in advance

Answer:BSoD during heavy system load

Welcome to the forum, Mat. Sorry you are having problems. Hopefully, we can turn that around.

I looked at the tree most recent dumps. All are error code 7F, UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Usual causes are memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, 3rd party firewall, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack.

Hello everyone,

For the past few months, I've been getting BSOD mostly while playing various games. The past couple of days, I have been able reliably trigger BSOD while playing SW:Battlefront. The problem is getting worse--I've been able to play SW:B for hours with no issues in past months, but in the last couple days I can trigger BSOD in under 5 mins.

Ok, so technically it isn't a "blue screen"... it's black. The system does not power down, but I do lose video, and also audio shortly thereafter. Occasionally upon restart, I'll get an error message stating that the system recognizes the problem to be a bluescreen error.

Per forum instructions, I have attached two recent DM logs.

I have done very little in the way of troubleshooting prior to this other than some general research. I mainly suspect a bad GPU based on matching problem descriptions on various forums.

Any help with this issue is appreciated, and of course let me know if more information is required for accurate diagnosis.

Hoping someone can help me diagnose my system's instability. Recently, after installing and playing some of the BF3 Beta, my system began to crash. As I had just installed a new version of the ATI drivers I assumed that was the issue and rolled them back. No joy. Then I installed the preview version of the ATI drivers suggested by EA but my system continued to randomly crash.

After some troubleshooting I eliminated the RAM by running several clean passes with memtest86+. All of the other components seem to operating normally as well, so I turned to the CPU and torture testing with Prime95.

If I run all six cores the thing will crash immediately. It won't run for more than 30 minutes on any more than three cores, and no more than 15 or some on any more than four. I have discussed the issue with AMD support and they pointed to the PSU, which was only 520W. I upgraded that to a 850W PSU but that had no effect. AMD has offered to replace the CPU but A) I'd be without a CPU for over a week waiting for the replacement and B) I hate doing that if I'm not positive it's the problem.

I'm hoping the minidump will point to the exact cause. I've also removed the heatsink and fan, cleaned off all the thermal paste and reseated everything. I had put far too much thermal paste on when I first built the machine. Sadly, that had no effect. I've also monitored my CPU/mobo fan and heat levels during testing but they never get much higher than 42C so I don't think heat it an issue at all... Read more

I've been getting these crashes since day one of putting the pc together and over the years and picked at it trying to figure the issue. I use to get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ntoskrnl.exe bsod a lot and traced it back to a driver issue over a year ago but continued getting other crashes, I cannot for the life of me remember what or how I figured it out the last time.

Recently my drive had be getting a bit full so I got a new 2t drive to use as game storage, put everything I wanted to keep on the new drive and reformatted my old 750 gig drive to use for windows and miscellaneous files. Right after the install I immediately began getting the old bsod error again and have been unable to track it down. So far I have attempted updating all drivers I could think of but I'm out of ideas and I apparently dont know how to track down these issues as well as I had hoped. Hopefully someone who knows what they're doing better then I do can lead me in the right direction.

So far all of the crashes have happened when the system was under heavy usage. Examples, playing a graphic intensive game for over an hour, downloading multiple large files, transferring several gigs of data from one drive to the next.

Any help at all would be very much appreciated, Thank you in advance.

Sounds like bad RAM to me, you have Driver Verifier enabled and it still hasn't picked anything up.

Memtest86 will test your RAM

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

Hi, as I started playing GTA 5 I started getting these BSOD more frequently. I have noticed them few times some time ago but couldn't really tell why. Now I can, its when system is under heavy load.
Previously I would get that BSOD playing Arma 3, also demanding game but since I didn't play that much I didn't cared about it.
Now as I play much more GTA 5 I noticed if I put my system under heavy load (like ~98% GPU, ~70-100% CPU) my system will sometimes BSOD, its totally random.

I tried updating drivers using software (Driver Reviver) and it did update some drivers but the issue still persists.

When I play GTA 5 with lower graphical settings and GPU is not under that much heavy load (~55% instead of 98%) I don't get this bluescreen so it might be something to do with graphics card but I really hope its not faulty.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000000, 0x000000000000000e, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff8800525bf72).
Bluescreen also has this written before restart: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Its a display failure, blaming the display driver, which is the latest version. Can you remember what was the situation with the earlier versions? I would suggest you to Uninstall the installed display driver using Display Driver Uninstaller. Then install the 347.88 WHQL and see how it goes.

When the suggested driver is applied, Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us. Also let us know if you have experienced any crash/BSOD and/or artifacts during the test.

I've had problems with BSODs and random reboots for MONTHS now and after spending over 100EUR and leaving it at the shop for almost 2 weeks it STILL has problems. I don't know if it's a RAM problem - I ran memtest for 4 passes with no errors - or if it's PSU that's defective but the lads at the shop said it was a temperature problem because my PC was dusty... yeah I don't think so at this point seeing as the problems are just the same as before.

I'll attach a txt file with 4 BSOD dumps exported from Blue Screen Viewer. If any other info is needed then just ask.

First of all, I don't speak english very well so, sorry for any grammar fails.

I've gottin' an annoying problem lately. Started all with black screen with driver(nvlddmkm.sys) stopped responding error. Well, no problems. Checked my temps, everything seems normal.(58~59? idle, 75? full. My GPU runs for years with those temps.)

Then I started gettin' BSOD. 3 BSOD's, two without fragments and this last one with some crazy shit on the screen and then BSOD. Only when I'm playin games like COD, Fable, Oblivion.
My GPU don't overheat(I believe) or something, and don't have any graphical bug on Aero interface. I can pass a day watchin' shit on youtube but I can't pass 5 minutes playin' MW1

I've got here a 8800GS, GA-M61SME-S2L and a AMD Athlon 5000 X2 processor.

Well, I hope that my GPU isn't dying.

Thank-you!

I had been getting lots of BSODs recently so I reinstalled windows xp with sp3.

I still got the errors so I replaced my memory which I had suspected for a while. The replacement was through an RMA with Kingston - the brand is valueram pc3200 (ddr400) 2x512mb sticks for a total of 1gb of ram.

It was running smooth for a while and then while playing warcraft 3 the other day, I got it again. I have a very strong feeling it is either a bad motherboard or my sound driver or tuner card driver.

The tuner card (geniatech x8000a hdtv tuner), is the only thing installed on my computer that has a driver which is not digitally signed. (If I actually removed this PCI card from my computer would I also have to uninstall all the drivers or would they come out automatically).
When I crash to BSOD though, I am never using the hdtv tuner card (don't know if this matters or not). However, i don't remember always having this problem, and I have had the computer for years but the tuner card for only about 1 year.

Since reformatting and replacing the memory, I have had 3 BSODs in 10 days (this isn't as bad as before but I probably haven't been using the computer as heavily which could attribute to the lesser amount).

Several things wrong here.

2-Symantec. A known cause of BSOD's.

I do notice Symantec which is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Hi,

After getting a new graphics card and SSD for christmas and reformatting after getting the ramnit.gen!A virus, lately I have been getting BSODs and so I started googling for my problem. I found a reccomendation to run driver verifier and send you guys the dump in another post, so I followed the instructions and I will upload the dump here for anyone who knows how to work with them. Just an FYI, I'm not new with computers, and I'm not afraid of getting dirty with them, so you don't have to go easy on instructions to help. Any reccommendations on other things to try would be nice, and a huge thanks in advance for your help.

EDIT: I forgot to say that I get the BSODs usually after running games involving RAM and graphics use, but I also get major problems running Prime95 in Blend, but not problems in Small FFT, so it seems like a memory issue. I was thinking that maybe, because of upgrading to a much more power hungry graphics card, my 500W PSU can't handle it, so I was going to get a Corsair 760i as I've wanted a new PSU for a while and this is an excuse what do you guys think?

I have a fairly high end gaming PC in a mini-itx for factor. The specs are posted below:

Motherboard: Asrock H97M-ITX/ac
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
GPU: Zotac Geforce 980Ti Amp! Edition
RAM: Evga 16gb DDR3
Hard Drives: 1x Sandisk 240gb SSD 1x Samsung Evo 120gb SSD, and 1x 1tb Toshiba 7200rpm mechanical drive
Disc Drive: HP Blu Ray Drive
PSU: Corsair CX750m
Case: Coolermaster Elite 130 Mini ITX

For some reason, during demanding gameplay, I either get a bsod (although this is rarely the case) or the monitor looses input entirely and some sort of a buzzing/whining noise comes in my headphones. Then, no matter what I do, the screen does not turn on and I have to manually shut my pc down and restart it. I'm not sure if this is hardware related or software related but I've attached my file below in case that might help.

The only dump in the zip is from 8/7 and it indicates a problem with WN111v2x.sys, which belongs to NETGEAR WN111v2 USB2.0 wireless N adapter. It's driver is old:

9/25/2008 4:27:48 AM C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\WN111v2x.sys

See if there is an newer version or replace the USB wireless adapter. The only one I can find is here:

WN111v2 | Product | Support | NETGEAR

which is version 3.1 for Windows 7. I suspect you will need to replace it.

The BSoD appears every now and then after a while of playing video games or watching high quality movies and streams. It even appears when I have multiple programs running at the same time. For example, the BSoD appeared when I was scanning for viruses, spyware, malware, etc. with multiple programs.

The blue screens seemed to start appearing after i installed Spyware S&D, Ad-Aware, and Zone Alarm. They were all installed on the same day when I was trying to recover my stolen game account. Anyway, I'm not sure how they could affect my computer so destructively but just saying anyway. I did not uninstall them. I was actually planning to do a system restore but I want to see if this could be solved before I do.

Thanks

Answer:[SOLVED] BSoD during heavy system load (games, HD movies, etc.)

I just uninstalled the three programs that i thought caused the BSoD (Spyware S&D, Ad-Aware, and Zone Alarm)

The BSoD still shows up.

Hi there.

I'm struggeling with an issue on my machine and hopefully someone can help me. I get sometimes a BSOD after I quitted a game, mostly when it is high end (e.g. Bioshock infinite). I activated then Driver Verifier to search for the source of the problem, got a bluescreen after 1 minute with a reference to HIDCLASS.SYS.

Gathered dump files are attached to this post. Thanks alot.

This situation is interesting, because it behaved like driver verifier is enabled even before you enabled DV yourself.

I have had many BSOD pretty infrequently (once a month or so maybe) It is always while running ANSYS finite element program and using the RAID hard drives. (Onboard RAID w 2x Samsung 850 Pro)
It was always 0x8B. I had a suspicion it was the RAID drive SSDs
I disabled caching on that RAID drive, and now it seems I get both 0xB8 and 0xC5.

I uploaded two dump directories.

Also it seems after a crash it will take 10-15 minutes to post. It just sits there with the windows logo. Then when it does come up the RAID drives won't be there. If I restart again it is fast, and the RAID drives will show up.
I've never had a crash under heavy load when the RAID wasn't being used. But I'm not sure if this is the cause or not since it is so infrequent.

I would be eternally grateful for any help!
Thanks in advance.

Answer:BSOD 0x8B and 0xC5. Usually during heavy load and RAID SSDs

The BSOD was caused by Intel RAID.

RAID is often problematic. You dont need RAID, apparently; as it is seen in your storage environments. And you have both the Intel and Marvell RAID enabled. Marvell is also problematic, much more than Intel RAID.

The long term solution is to disable RAID, set the storage controllers to AHCI and do a clean install of windows.

But if you dont want to do that right now, try to update Intel RAID driver (IRST). https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

See how it runs stable in coming six months with the updated driver.

Sorry for the lame title, it's kind of hard to describe. So here goes:
When putting my PC under 'pressure' (In other words, when gaming) it tends to hang after some time, after which it reboots automaticly. No BSOD, nothing in the Event log, no errors, absolutely nothing.

After doing some research I thought the problem was my power supply, since my video card probaly sucks up alot of power. So I went out to buy a new 600watt one (The old one was 350watt). However it had absolutely no effect. I am very certain that it is because of the pressure though, because when I play a game at 1600x1200 it crashes much faster than when I play at 1280x1024 for example.

The only problem I can think of now, is either
1. Hardware failure
2. Overheating or
3. A bad connection somewhere.
However the temperatures don't go really high. They're all in the range of 20-50 degrees celsius. And as for hardware failure, I think that would be weird. As everything works fine except when gaming. The problem isn't softwarewise, since I reinstalled Windows yesterday just to find out, to no avail.

I've had the STOP 0x000000F4 (0x0000000), 0x855174B0, 0x05517624, 0x805C7478 a couple of times some time back though, so maybe one of my harddrives is failing and crashes when under heavy load. In that case, is it possible to find out which HD is failing on me by installing a game on another HD?

I'm definatly running out of ideas.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any repli... Read more

I've had my Helix for a few days now and have finally got around to installing some software on it.  I have the i7 with 256gb SSD and 8GB RAM.. so far I've been very impressed with how 'snappy' it all runs and besides a few annoyances with the touchscreen/pen not working correctly 100% of the time am very happy with the system. Anyways, I wanted to see how the Helix would run when pushed really hard so I had Solidworks running (3d modeling/CAD software) and Netflix going on on an external monitor.  The back of the Tablet became super hot--hot enough that you would definitely not want to touch it (let alone try to hold it) or have it on your lap.  I installed TP fan control and it read that the CPU got up to 86 degrees Celsius.  Granted this is not representative of normal operating conditions, but I'm concerned about how hot it got.  Has anyone else noticed their Helix's running really hot under heavy load? Is this normal?

Hey there!

For the last couple of months I'm experiencing various BSODs while gaming (Dota 2 and Fallout 4 are the last games I've played). During normal office activities like browsing, text processing or even programming everything runs without problems.

The BSODs I've gotten so far are:
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (WdFilter.sys or nvlddmkm.sys)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (ntoskrnl.exe)
and one without a bug check string.

This is what I've done so far:

1. Thinking it could be related to Windows 10, I've downgraded to Windows 8.1. So my current system is a fresh Windows with Intel Chipset drivers and latest Nvidia drivers installed. The BSODs are still showing up.

2. Multiple GPU and temperature tests with FurMark. The tests ran between 30 minutes and multiple hours before a BSOD showed up. CPU temperatures were always between 45 and 60?C. GPU temperature maxed out at about 73?C.

3. Older Nvidia driver. As the BSODs began to show up 2-3 months ago, I thought it could be related to the driver so I've installed an Nvidia driver from January 2015 but it did not help.

4. Driver Verifier. Without driver verifier enabled, I've gotten various bug checks. With driver verifier enabled, I seem to always get SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION with nvlddmkm.sys and the BSODs start to show up a lot earlier when running FurMark (after about 5 and 15 minutes).

5. Smart status of the SSD looks good. Chkdsk and sfc /scannow reported no errors.

6. I've let memtest run over night. It did 6 passe... Read more

Hi guys. you all have helped me in the past and now i have another problem. My PC locks up almost daily if i use it to a mild to heavy degree. I don't know why. what i mean is, if i do things like watch a video, or run a virus scan, or a demanding game my PC just locks. i have to press the restart switch so that i can reboot it. it seams to be fine if i leave it alone not doing anything, although it sometimes locks up this way. its getting very frustrating and i really need it to be fixed. thanks in advance.

Answer:Lock up upon heavy load

I believe the problem is one of my programs that are running in the background. I have turned off all the ones I can and I haven't had a lock up yet. I'm currently zipping a big folder as a test.

I currently have a unreliable router that constantly requires rebooting when under heavy loads (big bittorrent traffic, VPN) and when i load big bandwith multi image pages

So after reading through reccomendations i have come up with the DIR-655 as my hopeful solution...Does anyone run bit or use high bandwith applications on this router for extended periods at a time (4+ hours)?, and does the router ever need to be reset? how often?
Last but not least, how good is Dlink at keeping their firmware revised and stable?

thanks for putting up with the questions

My s10(model 4231) has ALWAYS done this, regardless of the BIOS.  Present BIOS is 14CN94WW, which is listed as the most current. It's baffling, because the problem does not occur when running OS X 10.5.x,  but it is present when running either XP or Ubuntu Jaunty, Karmic or Lucid.   I've pretty much been "stuck" using Mac Leopard for the past year, but I'd really like to make Lucid work for a great many reasons:  better hardware support overall. I know that BIOS 94 was supposed to correct this problem, but for me it has not.  Is there any other BIOS, or some other tweak/setting change I might try to solve this annoying situation. All suggestions appreciated! Elliott

Hi, I read through some posts and couldn't find any that matched this problem -

First off, my specs:

AMD Sempron 3600+
MSI Motherboard
3 gigs of name brand RAM (I believe it's Kingston or Corsair)
Windows XP Pro 5.1 Build 2600 with SP 3
350w or 400w PSU

My computer will freeze when under certain kinds of high workload. For example, I edit music with Sony Acid 7.0. If I go to do certain things, like add a VST plug-in to a track, or if I have ACID running and open Firefox in the background, the computer becomes mostly nonresponsive, where the only thing I can do is hit alt + ctrl + del, and that will only pop up a task manager window which is fully unresponsive. I am inevitably forced to restart my computer manually.

I tried using Reaper, a similar type of DAW program but by a different manufacturer, with the same sort of result. I have swapped my RAM one time when it was having this issue a while ago, and it did not help. I can run programs like Counter-Strike without my computer ever freezing, so I don't think it's video related at all.

All help appreciated!

Answer:Computer freezes under heavy load

Open task manager to the Processes tab. Double click "CPU" at the top of the cpu column to sort on that column with highest usage at the top. Next time the problem appears, check to see if a specific process is hogging the cycles and let us know.

Have you tested your RAM with memtest86?Although you refer to (summer time under heavy load ) as if its a thermal condition only that causes this.... does it run normal when cold and then only act up when hot? If so then something is running too hot perhaps the bridge controller on the motherboard etc. Also if you have any overclocking going on... undo your overclocks and see if it behaves at normal clock etc. Also if over voltaging any components intentionally undo that as well. *That should be part of undoing an overclock if you are pushing for a heavy overclock which involved boosting RAM voltage by a few tenths of a volt which will make them ( RAM Sticks ) run warmer.Cound RAM sticks themselves be cooking. I had a computer a ways back with Gaming Quality OCZ 400Mhz DDR that would act up only when the inside air of the case was really warm. To the touch my RAM sticks were roasting hot and the OCZ heat spreaders giving off their own heat plus inside of the case didnt help any in trying to passively get rid of heat. My fix was to add a 80mm fan blowing across my RAM inside the case suspended like a spider web with zip ties to proper placement and verifying that the fan wouldnt be smothered by the side panel. My voltages I didnt mess with and I think OCZ may have been using 333Mhz rated chips at a forced to 400Mhz overclock selling them as 400Mhz Gaming RAM since they passed testing at 400Mhz and that may have been why they were running hot. I ended up putting value RAM into i... Read more

Hello.

My computer's been weird for a few days. Many times I've left it running and come back to notice it's not responding to mouse or keyboard. Today it just got worse. I tried to restart, but it didn't. Holding the power button down for a while, it shut down, but power feed was still on, because the keyboard NumLock light was lit. Surprisingly, when I pressed a button on the keyboard, the computer rebooted but the display didn't come on and there was no beep to indicate a succesful POST.

I turned off the power supply and waited for a few minutes. Turned it back on and the computer booted fine. After a few minutes of running, it stopped responding again and I had to repeat the procedure.
At next boot, I shut down the World Community Grid program immediately as it started. It's a grid computing program that I have set up so that it uses any CPU power available even when I'm active (it controls its CPU use so well that it doesn't affect use noticably). Task Manager is showing a constant 100% CPU use when that program is running.
Shutting it down did result in a more stable system. I gave a go at video conversion and it hung up immediately.

The CPU is a Socket A Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67GHz) and the fan is an Akasa which cools up to Athlon XP 3200+

The trackpoint of my thinkpad 13 2nd gen gets randomly stuck or freezed when I'm working on high demanding cpu or gpu programs.Sometimes gets freezed when I try to open several programs at the same time or loading a big file. I noticed this when I just bought it and installed spotify to play music while I was making a backup of my main PC, Itīs horrible, it can't be used at all, moves a a bit, stop, another bit, stops again it is not smooth at all and happens using spotify ONLY (aside of being a badly optimized program). I don't know why this happens, maybe the cpu is too close of the trackpoint and jam it when is under heavy load.I would be very grateful if someone could help me. im having a problem with my computer its freezing at random but most of the time when watching a video on youtube or when playing a game. usually when the screen freezes I can still move the mouse and click on the start button and navigate through windows but not the internet browser it just stays frozen in the background. when I try ctr+alt+del it does try to open task manager, the green cpu usage bar comes on at the lower left side of the screen but not the task manager since the screen is frozen so I have to shut off the computer manually by pressing the button for 5 seconds. other times when it freezes I get a bsod with error 0x00000008 which on microsoft site it says its a problem with the processor. I have never messed with the processor so I dont know why there should be a problem with it so Im asking do the symptoms I describe sound like an issue with the processor or could it be something else causing it to freeze? id appreciate any help thanks

So, I got a HIS Radeon HD 6770 IceQ, and have been messing around with MSI Kombustor. Then I ran the furry donut test. And within 10 seconds, the core temperature has been rising from 50 degrees Celsius to a whopping 105 degrees celsius. My question is, is it normal for the card to get that high, and what's the max temperature the card can handle without any artifacts, or worse, crashes?

For quite awhile now my pc has been shutting itself down completely when playing games. Im only playing a few games right now but it happens during all of them. They are: Crysis, Warhammer Online, Bioshock and Crysis Warhead. I thought it had to do with my graphicscard getting to warm but BFG assured me that my 8800gts should be able to handle temps over 80c and the card never became warmer than 78c in games.

Two days ago I crashed in any game after playing for just 5 minutes. So yesterday morning I decided to test out what could be wrong. I ran memtest86+ and made through 3 passes without errors before I decided that it couldn't be the RAM.

I ran RTHDRIBL for two hours in fullscreen and my graphics card was on 78c during the entire time but the pc never crashed.

I then ran Prime95 and tested my q6600 for a few hours without any errors. I tried stressing two cores at once leaving the others two unstressed and then i stressed all four at the same time without errors.

I also stressed all four cpu cores with prime 95 while running rthdribl in fullscreen mode for over 1 hour without a crash.

I googled alittle and found a thread on toms hardware with a guy with my 177.83 nvidia driver having similiar crashes in games.

It seemed sort of like the problem I was having so I uninstalled my 177.83 nvidia driver and went with 175.19 but the problem was still there.

Today the pc ran fine all day. I played crysis warhead for about an hour without anything happening and after th... Read more

Answer:PC crashing while playing games but not during other heavy load

Intermittent glitches can be very hard to track down. One thing it seems you haven't investigated is audio, but it could still be graphics drivers and almost anything unknown that might cause a conflict. Games are the most demanding so they find the weak links in the chain.

You might try using an optimized account just for gaming where everything else that normally runs in the background is suspended or not allowed to run and see if that makes a difference.

Welcome morgwaiProbably your heatsink is clogged with dusk or the thermal paste between your heatsink and Intel CPU dried up, causing poor heat transfer. Even in full load, the CPU temp should not exceed 90C.I suggest that you contact Tech Support to replace the fan.

I've been having this problem since recently after I got the laptop over a year ago. Whenever my laptop is plugged in and under a heavy load (Videos, Games, and anything else that puts stress on the computer) It will either reboot suddenly (Instantly go black and restart) or freeze with colored bars on the screen (Multicolored, usually cyan yellow and magenta). I looked in the error log and found this. This is the error that happens every time.

Answer:HP Pavilion g4 reboots when charging and under heavy load.

The freezing with colored bars is your biggest clue.

It is probably the GPU (Video Card), go to the manufactures website and look to see if there are any driver updates for the machine.

You said this started recently, Have you done updates lately, maybe the driver update is corrupt, try rolling back the video driver

The trackpoint of my thinkpad 13 2nd gen gets randomly stuck or freezed when I'm working on high demanding cpu or gpu programs.
Sometimes gets freezed when I try to open several programs at the same time or loading a big file.

I noticed this when I just bought it and installed spotify to play music while I was making a backup of my main PC, Itīs horrible, it can't be used at all, moves a a bit, stop, another bit, stops again it is not smooth at all and happens using spotify ONLY (aside of being a badly optimized program).

I don't know why this happens, maybe the cpu is too close of the trackpoint and jam it when is under heavy load.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me. All drivers are up to date

Okay, back in January my computer began to freeze and get bluescreen when I was playing battlefield, I could only get a 10-15min game session, anyways I've began to experience the same thing with other games like GTA IV and and Ghost Recon Online I tested today, my graphic card was laying at a 40-50% load and the heat was 70 when playing it.

I've recently installed fresh Windows 7 x64 and all drivers are up to date, so installing Battlefield 3 to get the bluescreen report, but do anyone know what I could possibly do? The only changes I've done is changing the ram, the default ram that's shown in BIOS is 1066 and I have 1600.

The computer specs are:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 V.1
I7 950 base clock
XFX Radeon HD 6950 Dual fan pre-clocked
Corsair Vengeance 12GB 1600MHz
Cooler Master GX 750W psu

Help is very much appreciated!

I just built up a new pc

3.2ghz Intel
320Gb Maxtor
1G DDR Kingston
X1900 ATI AIW
500W Antec

Everything is fresh with all the drivers. Just installed Splinter cell double agent and Once the game starts the power supply kicks on the second fan and within minutes everything freezes and i have to restart. 500W is definitely enough to run this set up, well it should be. Any suggestions please?

Answer:Computer freezes during heavy load everytime!

Immediately after this happens check the processor temp in the BIOS, its likely too hot. Also check the Event Viewer to see if something is hanging first, because it could just be crappy video drivers. Upgrade your video card drivers and see if it still happens, if it does:

Remove heatsink/fan from processor, clean with 99% isopropyl, put down fresh layer of thermal paste, replace heatsink/fan.

You can add another case fan or 2 to help with the temps, but I'm sure there is poor contact between heatsink and fan if its climbing that fast and locking up (and isn't driver related).

At my company, after using the Internet fully for like 8 hours, we sometimes get offline and can't access to any internet service and I need to shutdown the router, by disconnecting it and reconnect it again.

Why is this? It is causing me trouble cause I don't know if the problem is the cheap router we use (a D-link 604), the Internet Service Provider or the structure of our lan.

I want you to tell me why I could be having this problem with Internet.

Thanks guys!

Answer:Why do I need to reset my router after a heavy traffic load?

define heavy load? lots of torrents? some routers hold on to connections for far too long and their limited resources get stretched thin with P2P activity. I don't know specifically about d-link routers - does it have the most current firmware? what kind of service do you have?

My current model works on HD 5500.  The display works fine in normal use with no lines and disruptions.  In Plug in operation mode:  1.No movies or games, or videos streaming there is no problem on the screen2. In movies, game s or videos, the screen will start to display some lines very qick flickers, which keeps repeating and does not stop, sometims it goes away but instead of heavy line flickering it will be mild and unoticeable.  Only battery operation  This does not have any problem. As soon as I plug in the AC power on it it creates the flickering of lines like white lines randomly in the screen.

Answer:Lenovo G50-80 Display Problems when on heavy load

Hi Spooty,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

I don't know which game you're playing but what I suspect is happening is that when playing on the battery that the frame rate drops to the point that it can play and the graphic card can keep up with it.  At full speed, the graphic card just cannot handle it.

Try turning down the game's graphics if you can.

You can also go through this Link for better understanding.

I hope the above information helps.

Regards,
Shashi

I've got a bit of an issue here and I have not found a solution so far. I'll start with my system specs:

- Windows 8.1 Pro
- Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 Rev. 3.0
- CPU: AMD FX-8350 (not overclocked)
- PSU: Seasonic X-Series 1050 W
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 CMX16GX3M2A1600C11, command rate 2 T, 1600 Mhz (800 Mhz), timings 11, 11, 11, 30
- GPU: Zotac GTX 770 Amp (not overclocked), 2 GB of V-Ram
- Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Titanium Champion (PCI-E)
- Haupauge Colossus video capturing card
- Promise FastTrak TX2300 SATA-II RAID Controller (2 additional HDD's attached)
- System drive: OCZ-AGILITY3 (111 GB)
- Main storage drives: 2 X WDC WD2002FAEX-007BA0 (1863 GB)

This should be enough for now.

The issue is as follows: Under heavy cpu load (for example when encoding mp3's using dbpoweramp) the pc occasionally shuts itself down. This does not always happen and it only happens when the cpu is really at it's limit (all 8 cores at 100 % load). Very well I thought, let's do a stress test using Prime95. The blend test runs for several hours but suddenly the pc freezes and all I can do is power it off. During the stress test I monitored the temperatures. Cpu 51 - 52 degrees, north bridge between 50 and 55 degrees, motherboard value between 45 - 50 degrees. I got these temps from Aida64. I'm kind of clueless here since none of these temps should be off limit. And the psu certainly delivers enough output. I'm grateful for any advice. If you need more info please let me know.

Answer:Sudden freezes/ Shutodowns under heavy cpu load

2 things to try:

1) open up the case and point a house fan (on high) into the case. See if that stops or decreases the frequency of the shutdowns

2) run the system until it shuts down. Feel around inside the case (without touching anything) to see if anything seems excessively hot. I have received 2nd degree burns doing this - so be very, very careful!!!

Prime 95 Blend test stresses RAM the most - so that's automatically a suspect.
It also stresses the CPU cache and the memory controller (on the CPU in i7, i5, and AMD FX CPU's)
So - in most cases, it's either the RAM or the CPU that's overheating. Presuming that the CPU cooler is properly mounted and functioning, that says to me that the RAM may be overstressed/overheating. If this is the case, then the house fan trick should help cool down the RAM enough to notice a difference.

Good luck!

8gb of ram
radeon 7950 vga card

okay so it started about a month ago, i would be playing eve online or minecraft.. and all of a sudden.. i would get a blue screen of death OR a computer lock up.. bac then i had 2x radeon 5770 cards... i replaced that with a radeon 7950 (amazing card btw) computer still keeps locking up, so i run memtest to see if its the ram, it passed, . so i turn off the pc. the next day... i get a startup failure in win7, i tried to repair it many times but it wouldnt.. so i took out my SSD hard drive and bought a traditional spin hard drive.. so far..only 1 blue screen .. something to do with ATi.. so i stopped running catalyst control center (i like to keep an eye out for my vid card temp) as well as speedfan (just in case) doesnt run anymore... so now my computer doesnt randomly freeze... ever.. HOWEVER.. when my computer is under heavy load (i run 8 clients of a game called EVE Online).. it will freeze.. no mouse movement.. nothing...total freeze.. this also happens when i load up the universe map in eve online (i guess that only goes to people who play eve)

otherwise.. computer now runs stable if i avoid those 2 things
and 1 more thing to add.. i obviously had to reinstall windows 7 on my new hd so it is a fresh install

so what you are saying is that you PC restarts itself when it is under load? when you say underload do you mean playing games?

this doesnt neccessarily mean you have a virus, it could be that the powersupply in your machine is failing, or your cpu is overheating. what are the specs on your machine?

Hi all I have a y470. Recently I realised that whenever i am using the wireless internet access to do some rather large load, namely video streaming and torrenting, the access fails. For example, after just  one minute after I watch a football game online, the network speed falls to zero. I can only "fix" it by using the "diagnosis" function of Win7 (x64) or just switching off and on the wireless card again. My wireless LAN driver version is 14.8.0.5. I tried reinstalling the driver but the problems was not solved. I have the same issue no matter I am at home or at school, so it should have nothing to do with my router. Plus when I plug the LAN cable to my laptop instead of using the wireless, the internet access is perfect. I am frustrated by this problem coz I have to stick to my desk and connect the LAN cable to watch a video. What can I do? Thz in advance.

This might be weird but when I bend the lid of my latop screen or try to move my laptop, my laptop suddenly turns off without warning then restarts (sometimes it doesn't), this also happen when i play heavy load games like rise of the tomb raider, after 5-10 mins. in the game my laptop turns off. During a light load activities like browsing or watching videos it works fine, I've tried cpu and gpu benchmarking it also works fine, so its not heat problem. I thinks it's motherboard problem but im not sure. I've tried these:
removing the battery and  holding the power button for 30 secs.
running the diagnostic (It says the system's fine).
booting in safe mode.
My laptop is an dell inspiron 15 7566. I just bought it last month. What do you guys think?

Whenever I have a lot of programs open that use the internet, I lose my internet connection. For instance, I have AIM open, then I open XFire and Steam. I load a game of Counter-Strike: Source, and always, always, I get a message anywhere from 5-20 minutes later saying I've been disconnected from XFire, and then most of the time, but not necessarily at the same time as XFire, the game will minimize to the tray while AIM pops up the message that I've lost connection and is now reconnecting. So then I can log back on to XFire and AIM, and alt-tab back into my game and keep playing.

I also lose internet connection a lot when I have Morpheus open along with XFire or AIM. It just seems that if there's a lot of traffic going through, I drop connection. And it doesn't say in my tray "A Network Cable Has Been Disconnected", that never pops up, it just drops the signal and those problems lose it and go crazy and disconnect.

This has been happening for some while, I Googled for a fix and came across a post at the nZone forums where a lot of nForce motherboard users were having similar problems with their onboard nForce NIC's (not just nForce 2, but 3/4 as well).

The router is a Linksys RT31P2 - a 3 port wired ethernet w/ 2 phone jacks for Vonage VoIP. Connected to that is a DLink DI-524 b/g wireless router for a laptop. My desktop is wired to the Linksys by 100ft of cat5e from newegg.

I'm not normally one to have to ask for any assistance with these kinds of things, but this one really has me going. The scenario I'm having is that I built a new Pentium D 820 based system with a GeForce 7800GT PCIe card and 1GB of ram recently and am having some issues with stability. More precisely, when I put the system under very heavy load (the most extreme being running into Ironforge during peak times while playing World of Warcraft and sometimes having a Skype conference also going. This often involves lots of drive thrashing as it quickly tries to load massive amounts of textures from the HD to the graphics card) my screen will occasionally black out for 0.5 to 1 second, then come back. Most of the time it will do that three or four times over about 5 minutes, then eventually it will flicker black, then immediately proceed to a bluescreen. (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO most of the time)

Now, to make it even more interesting, CPU load doesn't seem to have too much of an effect on it, as I have run Prime95 (two copies simultaneously to max both cores) for about 12 solid hours with no errors at all. Memtest has run for many hours as well, without errors.

My system specifications are as follows:

Pentium D 820
Intel Desktop Board D945PSN
2x 512 MB DDR2-533
1x 200GB Seagate HD
GeForce 7800GT 256MB Graphics
Antec 500w Neo HE PSU
Sound Blaster Audigy

I've tested the memory thoroughly, replaced ... Read more

Hi,

The culprit maybe faulty ram or Nvidia Display card driver.

Suggestion
1. Run memtest to stress test the ram
2. Install nVidia Display card driver 81.22

Hi, I recently purchased two HP z820's in order to expand my GPU networking and rendering capabilities. The systems are identical: z820dual Xeon E5 2640 - 6 core64GB RAM(2) 1TB drives1125w PSUWin 10 64bit I have tried installing two Nividia 1080ti's into the z820 and tried to render over the network, but every time the system reboots when the GPUs reach heavy load. It doesn't take long either, the system is stable for a minute, or two then does a hard restart.  The system works fine with one 1080ti. For power, I have both cards using the supplied 6 pin wires and connectors that come with the z820. I have purchased eSata to 8pin and Molex to 8pin for the 8pin needs on each card respectively. It would seem that the PSU just isn't powerful enough to run both cards, but thought I would ask here on the forums if anyone can give me some of their opinion and insight. I purchased the refurbished z820's because a client of mine recently bought a new z840 with the same PSU rating (1125w) and is running two 1080ti's with no issue (only difference is that his z840 is a single CPU). Any thoughts here are appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jason

Hi,We spent a couple of days cornering what appears to be an issue with the Intel 520 SSD drives in Lenovo x230 laptops. It was first showing up on a clean Debian installation, while installing a guest operating system into a VM. Looking around on forums, there appears to be some people having issues with database workloads too. So I decided to create a small user-space program to repoduce the problem. IMPORTANT: Before you try it, be ready for a system crash requiring a cold reboot.. It's available at:git://git.efficios.com/test-ssd.gitdirect link to .c file:https://git.efficios.com/?p=test-ssd.git;a=blob;f=test-ssd-write.c;hb=refs/heads/masterThis program simply performs random-access-writes of 4Kb into a single file.Executive summary of our findings (the details are in the test-ssd-write.c header in the git repo):- We reproduced this issue on 4 x230 machines (all our x230 have 180GB Intel drives, and they are all affected),- We took a SSD from one of the machines, moved it into an x200, and the problem still occurs,- The problem seems to occur independently of the filesystem (reproduced on ext3 and ext4),- Problem reproduced by test-ssd-write.c (git tree above): After less than 5 minutes of the heavy write workload, we get SATA errors and we need to cold reboot the machine to access the drive again. Example usage (don't forget to prepare for a computer freeze):  ./test-ssd-write somefileondisk 209715200 1234 -z  (see options by just running ./test-ssd-write)The p... Read more

Answer:x230: SATA errors with 180GB Intel 520 SSD under heavy write load

I can confirm the exact same problem with Debian and Ubuntu.I can reproduce it easily on Debian by installing a VM.On Ubuntu it is harder to reproduce but I already hit this problem when installing updates (dpkg does a lot of sync/fdatasync just like your test program).I think the difference between the 2 distros that explain why it is easier to reproduce on one is the default I/O scheduler (cfq for Debian and deadline for Ubuntu). Lenovo already completely replaced my laptop (X230 with SSDSC2BW180A3L) and I still have this problem. We need a firmware fix. Thanks !

ok this is gonna be a bit long but i want the details there. the issue pc is my old pc. it has windows 7 its an asus msn-la motherboard i cloned this drive and used it in my new pc. after a few months my new pc's drive died and i took the old drive from the issue pc(witch was not giving issues at this time) and stuck it into my new pc until my replacement drive came. when i got the replacement drive i cloned the drive again onto the replacement drive and then put the new drive in the new pc had no issues there. put the old drive back into the issue pc (this is when issues started) the pc booted up to the windows desktop loading screen fast but once it got there it sat there for like 5 min before loading into windows. once it loaded into windows it was un usable for around 10 min while it loaded background stuff. once it finally loads into windows if i try to open anything its still responding extremely slow. is there anything i could do to fix this or is this going to me a re install only situation? i did try to use a windows 7 disk to do a startup repair but it claimed i couldn't do it because i dident install from that disk.

Hi there, I just received my new X220 these days and I am experiencing some strange behaviour with heavy WLAN-usage und Windows 7 x64 Professional: Crackling sound! Here is what to do to reproduce the error: First: Install latest Intel drivers for the Centrino Advanced-N 6205 WLAN Card (it is Version 14.00).Second: Install lastest Connexant Audio drivers (but issue also appeares with Windows 7 default drivers). Then make sure that the WLAN connects at full 300Mbit/s to an 802.11n WLAN (in advanced properties of the WLAN device in device manager be sure to set channel-bandwidth to "auto" and not limiting it to 20MHz). If you now copy some large files (I used a Ubuntu ISO image) over the WLAN onto your X220 and simultaniously play an audio-file, the sound is totaly messed up! Bad crackling, lagging ect.As soon as I stop the copy-operation the sound is crystal clear. If you force the WLAN to only use 20MHz channelbandwidth (and so forcing it to 150MBit/s max!) the sound is also normal during the copy operation. The error only appears in 300MBit/s-mode of the WLAN chipset. I also did a check if it may be a hard-drive problem, but I can assure that it is not: I copied the same file over the LAN interface at full gigabit speed with no sound-issues at all.So it is definetly a WLAN related issue. Could you please try it on your X220 and tell me if you too see this error? Thanks! Regards, Kai

Hi, I have an out of warranty T43. when I turn it on the screen remains completely black( no backlight). If i attach a external monitor I see that the computer is just booting over and over again. Safe Mode ect dont work. The blue screen pops up after each failed start. It says TOP: c0000218 (Registry File Failure)The registry cannot load the hive (file)SystemRoot/System32/Config/SOFTWAREits log or alternate.is corrupt absent or not writable I can access the Access IBM. Through this I can save the files from the hard drive. I tried the restore. But the restore fails immediately.  Does this have the backup partition? Do i need some restore CD's? Is there a way to do this without losing the info on the computer? What step do I take now?

Answer:T43 Cant load windows, Blue Screen Registry cannot load hive, SOFTWARE, Access IBM

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Sounds like a dying HDD to me, to be certain I'd suggest burning PC Doctor for DOS bootable CD and run full diagnostic test.

Keep us posted.

Hi all, I am new to this forum & I am hoping you will be able to help me with a few problems I'm having with my PC.

This seems to be an intermittant problem but it happens more often than not.

When I boot up the pc no matter who's login i use (mine or the wifes) when the desktop loads, the taskbar down the bottom is frozen. When i move the mouse over it there is just a hour glass.

Also certain programs won't load up like I-tunes or the defrag yet when i go into processes the itunes exe is showing.

Internet explorer seems to work ok.

I have Avira anti-virus & I am using Adaware, Spybot & spywareguard.

My system details are:

Our users have IE 7 and 8. We keep them locked into place by pointing IE to our firewall product (tools > internet options > connections > lan settings), so that only approved sites are the ones that our people can access. In the last few days, several of them report issues with specific websites loading very slowly - load times of over an hour just to get the log-in screen to appear.Troubleshooting Steps:1.) Unchecked the "use proxy server for your LAN" under the IE menus---> Site resolves instantly, as it should---> This pointed me to the direction that perhaps the site wasn't configured for our firewall2.) Re-checked the "use proxy server" box, and specifically configured the site in our firewall---> Site continues to resolve slowly, with the same load times as before performing step 1That would normally indicate that the problem is on the vendor's end. Something may be wrong with their site. And that's the line of thought I was pursuing until I was reported back to that the users are having the same problem on other websites. These new websites they're having problems with are, and have been for a long time, configured properly in the firewall.I'm not sure what my next step is to pursue. What am I looking for now? I don't know enough about networking to figure out where to track next.

Answer:Users are unable to load websites - no error, just 1-hour+ load times for pages

windows 7 just fine. It doesn't cycle, it just shuts down the one time after POST/Loading OS then after it turns itself back on after a few seconds, it goes into Windows just fine. Seems to be a unique problem as I have yet to find an answer.

This is a newly built computer and everything checks out fine besides this glitch.

Windows Xp Doesnt Wanna Load, I Gotta Restart To Make It To Load

Before the repair it didnt wanna load at all - also I have some hard drive issues ( that got cut off and came our weird , sorry)

----------------------------------------------

OK, Im gonna explain what happened step by step cause Im not sure whats important. I dont understand very much about this stuff. I hope someone more expirienced then me will help me out.

Im using windows xp proffessional version.

OK It first happened while I was surfing online, I was surfing on sites that I can say are pretty much safe, but at the same time I was running either AVG 7.5 antivurus or their AVG antispyware 7.5 (not sure which one of the two) . At some point when the scanning was on my E hard drive ( windows is on my C hard drive ) the computer froze and naturally I restarted. But windows didnt wanna start after the restart, it kept giving these messeges: windows didnt shut down properly and it asked me to choose to start it in safe or normal or etc.. mode.

I tried every type of start mode, it didnt work. Windows wouldnt load and u know that line where windows loads would move a while and then stop.....no responce no nothing. So I tried restaring several times. Same thing, widnows didnt start properly last time, choose a mode...after I choose it loaded for a while but then stopped!

So I took it to the repair, the re-installed my windows. Now when I wanna start it, it runs properly doesnt ask me to choose, windows ... Read more

Are you able to boot in safe mode? It seems like you might have a conflict with the program wanting to run at start up..
My first suggestion is to boot safe mode, then remove your AV.. See if that helps..
Also, do you have more than one anti-virus program installed?

I have a NB100 And when it trys to boot i get Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys

I have connected a DVD drive with the product recovery disc GMR400882EN0 inside it and powered on, on booting i keep F12 pressed and I get the options for setting it to boot from HD FDD CD/DVD USB Memory, I set it to boot from CD/DVD

When it loads it gets to loading RAM image I get Error 32768 File PEBASE ISO Could Not Load.

I am suspecting faulty recovery disc? and a new one is Ģ29.99? But the laptop is under warranty but they told me to do this.

My daughter has a Asus 904HD and once she had a problem... She had none of the poor support of go and do it yourself... Asus sent a courier very fast-confirmed pick by text-fixed-delivered back confirmed drop off by text within 5 days!!

Answer:NB100 Recovery Disc wont load - Error 32768 File PEBASE could not load

>I am suspecting faulty recovery disc? and a new one is Ģ29.99? But the laptop is under warranty but they told me to do this.

I doubt it?s a faulty recovery disk.
The error message: missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys could be caused by faulty HDD or another hardware component.
In your case I recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP for hardware check and new OS installation. The notebook is under warranty (as you suggested in the posting above) and therefore everything should be done for free because it?s covered by warranty

Internet access is very slow. It takes up to 3 minutes to get a page to load, and I have to hit 'Reload' 2-3 times before a site finally loads. When it does, Firefox still shows the site as loading. This problem appeared after one of three events. On the same day, I downloaded Babylon and FoxLingo. I have uninstalled both, and removed and remaining registry entries. I also received an email from my fan site on Ning (I am an author) requesting approval for a blog post. The link took me to my fan site, but there was no blog posted. I discovered it was the usual spam for male enhancement drugs, but perhaps it was hiding a more malicious virus. I cleaned up my Ning site and notified them. I have had the problem since. I ran AdAware and AVG, and only came up with minor cookies. I also ran SDFix, including catchme, and got 0 hits. I ran Malwarebytes, which only showed the SDFix files and 2 low-level threats. I also ran HiJackThis, but the log showed nothing that should not be present. All that leads me here. I have followed the procedure in the Prep Guide. FYI-I had to run GMER 3 times. It caused my system to freeze the first two times it finished scanning, which took over 10 hours. Outside of the Internet, my computer runs other software smoothly. I have a brand new ASUS MB, 500GBHD, AMD chip and 4GB DD2 memory-less than 3 months old. Answer:Solved: Browsers will not load microsoft website but will load FB, Google etc etc

Either it's a problem server side for them, which would be an issue with your IP,
or a process/service altered some of your core system settings on your end which blocks the microsoft website for some reason....., you can try a different IP address just to make sure it's not server side for them, and then if that doesn't work I am not sure what to tell you other than reinstalling all browsers, and eventually refromatting if reinstalling browsers does not work.

IF it is an IP issue it could be something with your network, if a network admin blocked the microsoft website, or even theoretically your ISP if there was a strange issue with them, however that would be rare.

I run both IE 8 and Firefox on my Dell Dimension system. I'm having problems now with both browsers taking forever to load. This may be a virus or network problem. IE 8 just loaded now after 15 minutes (exactly - I timed it).

Details:
- Once it's loaded once, both browsers load in normal amounts of time.
- I haven't downloaded any new add-ons lately unless one browser or the other installed one in the background.
- The problem just started today after a reboot.
- I've also noticed that my network icon in the taskbar doesn't show up anymore when I first boot but by the time IE opens, it has showed up.
- Using ipconfig, I did determine that I am on the network and connected immediately after boot up (router also shows me connected immediately).
- I've tried running IE from the command line with iexplore.exe -extoff. It didn't make any difference. I don't know if this works with IE 8 though.
- When I click to open either web browser, the process shows up right away in Task Manager and remains.
- I have all the latest updates to both browsers that I know of.
- I've run a complete system scan with McAfee (fully updated as of today.)

Now I've run out of ideas on what to try. I appreciate any help!

Thanks!
Alec

I have always worked in Chrome. My work page won't load anymore, as of last week. I tried it in Internet Explorer, and then tried FireFox. Chrome and Internet Explorer both say the problem is with the site, not with my computer or my firewall. FireFox says the site may be busy and can't be contacted. Every other employee, including my husband's computer in the next room, can load this site.
I have tweaked my proxy settings to allow automatic connections. I have disabled Kaspersky and Ad Mucher. I have done three progressively early system restores, to times when I was able to load the web page. I have turned the computer on and off after each new fix I tried. Nothing has worked.
Any suggestions?

Im having this issue when I go to my Music folder/library in windows there is either no album art (in this case no icons in place of the album art either to suggest if its an mp3 or what not), or it takes a really long time for the album art to load on every peace of music. I have also tried to search on google about this problem. No luck probably because I'm rubbish at searching

ill really appreciate it if someone can help me out.

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed that my yahoo mail was not loading correctly.
Since then I have discovered that several websites will not load at all.

My wife's laptop with xp has no issues with the same sites.

Yahoo sites load partially displaying only text and text links.
While searching for remedies, I found yahoo answers that appeared like there might be useful information but could not get them to load either.

Two other example sites that do not load at all:
www.irs.gov
www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/the-world-isnt-such-a-bad-place

Firefox reports that they failed to load, Chrome reports that there was no data received.

I have Avast AV running, have tried clearing any and all rootkits. Tried Malware bytes, tried flushing the DNS cache. And as far as I can tell I am virus free yet nothing has helped.

I even tried looking up the IP address of irs.gov using nslookup and could not get any of the returned IP addresses to load.

I thought it may be a DNS issue, but I appear to be using reliable DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Any ideas as to what may be causing my system to refuse to download specific web sites?

Answer:Some sites will not load, some load partially, most are fine - browser independent

and welcome to the Forum

Will those sites open with IE?

I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal.
First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly.
After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects. someone please help

Answer:windows 7 refuses to load and system repair wont load

Do a hardware/software reset with your BIOS:Shut down and turn off the computer.
Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
"Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
(If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

After doing those steps, clear your CMOS by entering the BIOS (see your system manual for steps to enter the BIOS), going to the EXIT screen, and loading setup/optimized defaults.

Looking for help.
I've recently completed a new build and can only get WinXP to boot, but not Win 7. First, my components:

ASUS P8Z68-V Pro MB
Intel i7 2600K
Kingston HyperX Ram, 16 GB (KHX1600C9C3K4/16GX)
GeForce 9500GT (used from prior system)
Seagate Barracuda 250 GB (from prior)
Maxtor 500 GB (from prior)
PS is 630W, not sure of brand off hand

My hard drives were previously partitioned as follows. The Seagate had a primary 100 GB boot partition with Windows 7 and the remainder as a backup partition. The Maxtor has a small 20 GB partition with Win XP (as a back up in case of primary drive failure) with the remainder of the drive used as my main data partition.

Assembly seemed to go fine but on first boot simply went to a black screen after post. I flash updated to most recent Bios and disconnected the Maxtor drive. At this point could get to the boot screen. But, no matter what option I chose (normal startup, safe mode, repair, last known working configuration), it would go to black screen with "Starting Windows," and would either hang here, or sometimes the loading animations with the colored flags would just begin to start and then I'd get a blue screen. When attempting safe mode, I would get a blue screen amidst loading drivers. At this point I put in the Win7 installation disk. Whether I select repair or new installation, it will say loading files then go to blue screen after the "Starting Windows" displayed.

At this point, I stripped ... Read more

Greetings gurus. Internet trouble. As the title says, my mail will not load in any browser. Page load is very slow and most things time out at least once. AT&T ran line tests on DSL and everything was clean. Not sure how this could be. Speedtest was run many times and no probs. I even did some gaming which strains everything with no problems. I'm open to the possibility of a virus. Ran Avira and MBAM but haven't gone further. Strangely the wife's Facebook games are a no-go. Also, wireless devices work fine. Heeeeelp!

Hi,

Laptop is a Samsung R510 running Vista.

When it is switched on, it gets stuck on the Samsung BIOS load screen. The F2 (Setup) and F4 (Recovery) buttons don't work unless they are pressed straight away. But when they are pressed it says 'Please Wait', but nothing happens.

I have changed the CMOS battery, but it hasn't helped.

I have also taken the hard drive out and turned it on, still the same.  Each RAM stick has been tried on its own, and it is still the same.

Can anyone help?

I have HP Envy 17.3 m7-n109dx, windows 10 64-bit I got the windows blue screen, then when the windows attempted to restart a black scrren showed up, and windows did not boot. I tried several things, but nothing worked. Here is a list of what I have tried: 1. I did a hard reset. 2. I made sure the batery and the AC adaptor are not the problem. 3. I tried pressing the ESC seveal times after powering the device, but nothing happened (to load the safe mode). 4. I tried to restore the bios by pressing the windows and B keys, and then pressing and then releasing the power botton, and continue to press the other two keys. When I do that, I can see the hard drive light comes on for a few seconds, then the screen lights, but it stays blank. I contine to press the two keys for 1-2 minutes, but nothing shows on the screen. Then when I release the windows and the B keys, the screen goes dark, and the power buttoon continues to light. The power goes off if I press the power button for several seconds. I tired this several times. 5. I tried step 4, but with a USB drive. The same happened. 6. I tried pressing the power button, then the  F2 key (several times). The screen continued to be black. 7. I tried the pressing the windows key + P. Nothing happened. 8. I tried to run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) from a USB, but the screen remaind black. 9. I tried to load the safe mode from a USB, but the screen remained black. If there is ... Read more

I am trying to solve this problem on a friend's laptop. It is a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 64bit, using Chrome. Bought within the last year. I can play videos from sites like youtube, hulu, and sports sites, but when I try to play a video from putlocker, gorillavid, or other streaming sites typically used for videos like anime or tv shows the video either doesn't load (just spins) or takes a REALLY long time to load, almost like it is downloading the full video before it plays.

I borrowed another laptop from the library which also has Windows 7 and Chrome and all the videos play fine on it using the same internet connection, so it is definitely something local to this machine.

I have searched the net for three days trying to find a solution, but to no avail. I have the latest versions of flash, java, etc. I have tried older versions of flash. I've disabled the antivirus and firewall. Disabled the built-in flash plugin for chrome. I really am not sure what else to do. If anyone has any suggestions I would readily welcome them. I have tried other browsers as well and had similar issues.

Answer:Online videos do not load or take a very long time to load

No ideas I guess?

I have a very simple web page that automatically updates daily. However, very often when I view it I just get the version that is in my browser cache rather than the latest version from the web. I have to do a manual refresh from the browser to see the latest version. Not a problem for me, but other viewers of the page may not realize they aren't seeing the latest information.

Is there an HTML tag or some such that can be included in the page that will force a refresh and override any old version that the viewer may still have in their browser cache?

Answer:Solved: Force load of web page vs. load from cache?

I just had a friend put together a new computer for salvaging some old parts and mostly new parts. I have an antec 900 case, evga e8400 mother board, nvidia geforce 8800 gt graphics card, and two wd 600gb HDD with 4 gb ram.

I installed windows vista on one of the discs, and it started out rebooting fine, however it seems to take literally minutes to get to the vista sign in. I have a blinking cursor for minutes, than sometimes it will wake up and fully load and show the sign in. Other times it seems to just hang sometimes with blinking cursor, sometimes without.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I can or should do about it? other than uninstalling vista and going back to xp? vista does load quickly after signin, but the wait from hitting power button to actual sign takes forever. Thanks in advance.

I haven't used my PC for a few days and when I came to use it I found that it was off. So I turned it on and it brings up the XP loading screen and as it starts to load it jumps to a screen allowing me to open Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode and Safe Mode with prompt.

It also allows me to restart from a restore point which I have tried but just repeats the process.

I have started in SafeMode with Networking.

If I turn the PC off it will restart and the red working light will run but it won't fire anything up (Monitor remains in sleep mode) and I have to wait for about 10 mins at which point the Safe Mode option will be repeated.

I have run the logs as requested and I'm happy to provide more detail in any way necessary.

Yours hopefully CWD1982

Answer:Windows XP won't load but then gives the option to and will load in Safe Mode

I am not finding any malware in your logs. I suggest you post in the software forum and maybe try doing a repair install.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0

I've had a subscription to the online version of USA Today since 2012 and rarely had a problem viewing it.  A few days ago, I began having a problem.  I can login OK, but the newspaper won't display.  This happens on 2 PCs, one desktop, the other a laptop.  Both PCs run Win7 Pro SP1 x64.  The problem also happens using both IE and FF.

Normally, I run the MVPS hosts file on both PCs.  Because I had updated the hosts file a few days ago as well, I decided to put back the default MS (blank) hosts file to see if perhaps the new hosts file was blocking something USA Today needed.  With the default MS hosts file, I got a different result as shown in the screen shot below:

That prompt at the bottom took me by surprise so I Googled it.  I got many hits for "load.js from loadm.exelator.com" described as a Redirect Virus.  I'm assuming the one I'm receiving is related.  I clicked on cancel.  The USA Today newspaper still did not display.

Any idea where this file is coming from?

Any ideas why I can no longer view the USA Today online?

I run Norton Security on both PCs.  I've received no Norton warnings about any virus.  I also ran full scans with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware on both PCs and they were clean.

Answer:Do you want to open or save load.js from load.exelator.com?

This problem is screwy.  From about 7am-11am this morning, I was getting the same result shown in my opening post.  Then, sometime after 11am, it started working, mostly.

With the MVPS hosts file loaded, the newspaper displayed normally:

With the default MS hosts file loaded, the newspaper displays, but again with the load.js asking to be opened or saved.

I clicked on cancel.

Wonder how long it will continue to load properly.

Sure would like to know where that load.js is coming from and if it is malicious or not.  Just for chuckles, I downloaded the 1k file and opened it with Notepad.  Here is what was in the file:

document.write('<img src="https://load.s3.amazonaws.com/pixel.gif" width="0" height="0" />');

Answer:xp sp3 won't load normal will load safe mode

Your graphics card may be irrelevant. My PC was working fine Thursday morning (1-Sept-2011) , I have made no equipment changes, but when I switched on Friday 2nd I get the same error as you; although it will boot if I use the "last known good confiruration" option. Have tried restoring to my AM 1-Sept-2011 configuration settings (restore point) but this makes no difference. My neighbour has also experienced an identical problem, hos worked morning of 1st sept but failed to boot in the evening; suspect a faulty update; do you have automatic Windows updates turned on? Are you using Mcafee virus protection or Firewall?
