Preferred Solution: How to solve this error problem- PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

For the last two days, I have been struggling with this. It'll happen as I'm just browsing the internet or as I'm just waking the computer up. I did the system files scan and it said it fixed a corrupted file. I thought it would be done with. Just now I
woke my computer up and again it restarted because of this issue. I don't know what the problem is, if it'll cause more damage to my pc, or if it can be fixed. This thing has had issues in the past, losing sound and having to be sent directly to Microsoft
to be fixed and getting wiped. Please don't tell me something like that is going to happen again. Would a system restore help?

So, I opened my comp today, and found it unreasonably laggy. The cpu % from the task manager was up to 100 even though I didn't even open anything (except some start up stuff, but it's not usually like that). I started to play LOL, and found the fps wasn't really good. Then suddenly, I god BSOD, and it says error page fault in nonpaged area. So I am wondering is there a way to fix it. I've tried both sfc.exe /scannow and dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth , but both failed.

This is the file for my information: ASUS-02_10_2015_Tue_195800_50.zip

So a bit of backstory first. Ever since I upgraded to windows 10 I'd consistently gotten the FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE. The bit of research I'd done said it was a bug. It didn't seem so bad as it only happened once a week or so. Then 2 days ago I started getting MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and irql_not_less_or_equaI. I was playing Heros of the Storm When I first got that BSOD. That started getting progressively worse and worse with less time between crashes to the point that I couldn't even try to troubleshoot without getting BSOD.

So I tried to do a system restore to a previous state but got the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and it restarted in the middle of the restoration. Well that's when it got really bad. I could no longer even log into windows and had to resort to a complete restoration to factory defaults and back to windows 8.1, which has brought a bunch of new errors and BSODs(dpc-watchdog-violation, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, irql_not_less_or_equa)

So after looking those up I cam across a few posts saying that I should do a sfc /scannow and got "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix someof them. Almost two weeks ago I came down to my Win 8.1 computer and it was waiting on me to re-start it after an update. I go ahead and restart the computer, but it churns and churns and finally comes up with the error that there is a problem and can't start. The page fault in nonpaged area. It wants tells me it's collecting data and then tries restarting again. Then it tries to restore, so I choose a point clear back to November 2014. It proceeds but it still comes up with the same error and won't start.

I finally get it to come up in safe mode and run SFC, but it finds no problems. I check the events log, but it doesn't make any sense. I also have run Malwarebytes and found no problems. I know that this is something that can be fixed, or else I doubt Safe mode would run. How do I go about trying to figure out what is causing my problem? Oh in Safe mode the computer won't access the internet so I have to use another computer (my trusty old XP machine is sitting very near).

The computer is one that I built with Asus M3A7B motherboard, AMD 3 core processor, 4GB RAM, 1TBHDD, Radeon 5000 series video card.

Hi!

Today when I tried to start my computer (with Win XP) it gave a BSOD at the startup (just after showing welcome screen)

I got page_fault_in_nonpaged_area error with following tech info:
0x00000050 (0xF80F6660,0x00000000,0xF7BD971E,0x00000000)

I tried to restart few times but got the same error. Then I tried to start in safe mode - it started successfully. It also started in safe mode with networking.

Then I tried system restore to prev. day but it did not help.

I did following three things on the prev evening:
1. I took a backup of whole C: drive on an external hard drive.
2. Deleted lot of files from this external drive (before taking the backup)
3. Installed, played, uninstalled a game from yahoo games.

I am not sure if any of those things caused the trouble.

I also checked if there is any problems with RAM by remove both of them and putting one at a time and seeing if xp starts - but xp still did not start.

Hope someone can help me
Thanks.

Hello all--

I built a custom rig about 4 weeks ago. I noticed a BSOD in the first week (KERNEL INPAGE ERROR), and thought I might have some out of date drivers. I updated every driver I could think of, but I got the same BSOD the next week. I checked in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder, but it was empty--I confirmed that my system was configured to create minidump files, but didn't quite know what else to do. The next week, same thing. I tried memtest.org, Windows Memory Diagnostic Tools, and chkdsk. When I ran chkdsk on my HDD, a few errors came up and were fixed, so I thought the problem was solved. Then, the I received another BSOD the next day, and one the day after that.

When I built this computer, I used an SSD for the OS files, and an HDD from an older computer to save all of my files. I figured the issue was that there were old system files on the HDD that were interfering, so I formatted the HDD and installed WIndows 7 clean on the SSD again. I figured that would cover most of my bases.

Yesterday, I got the PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA BSOD. I'm sort of at my wit's end, now. This OS install was literally 2 days old. I don't really have a lot of programs on it yet, so I can't think of any application that would be causing this. On the plus side, I do have a minidump file now, and I've attached it here. It was suggested that this could be a result of faulty RAM, but so far I have been unable to confirm that with any diagnostics.

Some people say this means the ram could be faulty.
Is this true and if it is faulty should i take it back to PC World where I bought it?

Answer:Satellite C850-1NU - BSOD with Page Fault in Nonpaged Area error

Hi

The BSOD could be caused by system problems or hardware malfunction.

....and yes; the BSOD containing the error ?Page Fault in None paged Area? could be related to memory problems but it could be also an temporal problem which appeared one and last time?

But if this BSOD will appear in the future for umpteenth time, I would recommend you to contact the service partner in order to check the hardware.

Hi, I have recently been getting the BSOD errors. Laptop opens up fine, but if I try and open up a file , such as a photo , it gets stuck and then eventually crashes. This has only happened since yesterday, I was having issues with a wireless Brother Printer not communicating with the laptop or any other devices yesterday , not sure if this has anything to do with the problems. I did try updating the driver which I wonder had any effect. I have un-installed the printer , but still having errors. Running windows 8.1 64 bit. Acer Aspire v3-571. Hope someone can help. Not too computer savvy, so be grateful for advice.

* Kaspersky is a frequent cause of BSOD's.
I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST.

http://support.kaspersky.com/downloa...vremover10.zip

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

* Your crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

If you have raid > update its Driver.

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

For the past two weeks, I've been receiving a blue screen on start up every now and that contains a message reated Page fault in nonpaged area.

I attached a photo of the message.

In response to the message, I've push the power button to shut the computer down and then push the power button to start up. Usually, that results in proper boot up. A few days later, I experience the same problem.

I'm concerned that my computer will stop working at some point.

Please let me know what to do to respond to the "Page fault in nonpaged area" message so I no longer receive it.

Answer:Page fault in nonpaged area

This type of error usually points to a piece of software that is trying to write to ram that is already occupied, and is not swappable (non-paged memory).

Have you installed any new programs or updated any drivers just prior to this starting?

page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
stop: 0x00000000 (0xffffffff, 0x00000000, 0xffffffff, 0x00000000)

that is all the information there was, except for the usual explanation, there was not referred to any address.
please help the best you have learned, thanks.

Unfortunately this problem has many potential causes and therefore is really a process of elimination.

I keep getting these blue screens which are happening a bit too often lately. It says that the error seems to be "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and then, by the end of the blue screen, it gives me this message "Dumping physical memory" and a number which moves (from 1 to 80 or something). Any clues? Much appreaciated!! I have Win XP Pro, 1.6 Gb Pentium, 256 MB RAM.

I am running WINDOWS XP service pack 3 and after installing Quick Books 2012, I now get a BSOD Page Fault in Nonpaged Area after the computer has ran for a while. I have never had this problem before and I run AVAST and MALWAREBYTES, paid versions, religiously. However, from reading what I could here on the forum, this still seems to be caused by the remnants of a virus that perhaps was removed but left some garbage. Here is my Hijack log. Any help would be appreciated, this is the computer I do all my billing on. I hate updating Quickbooks, because there always seems to be an issue. However, this update was required because my old version will not work after May 31.

Thank you so much for you help. Doc

Also forgot to mention that now AVAST isn't working either, it was working fine until I tried to do a system restore to a point before I started having issues, but now it says it can't find the end points or something like that.

O
We can be tons more help if you can axxess your comptuer just a bit. the bsod stores the info about the crash in a dump file (*.dmp) which is usually located in c:\windows\minidump. If you go there zip the dump file and upload it to us (use the attachment icon shaped like a paperclip) we can tell you whats what.

Ley us know if you need help with anything and we will be standing by

Hi guys,
So i received this error this morning after rebooting. Ive read numerous responses posted over the net and a lot of it is rather vague. I cant load Xp Pro not even into safe mode. I havent installed any new software. No hardware changes have been made. I tried boot log so I could read it using my back up OS HDD, but there is no ntbtlog.txt. I used chkdsk and there were no problems found. im thinking it might be ram, but i cant afford the downtime to run memtest.
any ideas would be appreciated.

cheers

Dear all,

I've bought a new system (it's an Intel I7 with 16GB RAM) and I've just installed Windows 7 64bits Professional Edition.

I'm trying to copy a large amount of data (180GB aprox) from another PC by using a external USB disc and the machine keeps panicing with the page fault in nonpaged area error.

I've tried to disable USB 3.0 support in the motherboard (which is a Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D model), removed and old Hauppage TV tuner I took from the old PC just in case... but the problem persists.

Motherboard drivers are all uptodated, since I installed them from the manufacturer web site.

I'm really upset and totally clueless, more +20 years in IT industry and never had such a problem. :-(

Please find enclosed the BSOD zip file.

System Specs:
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bits 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1

Answer:Page Fault in nonpaged area

Most often, this error message is caused by driver errors. Download and reinstall your video graphics driver to start. Look at all the drivers to see if there have been recent upgrades you may want to download.
Then run a Memtest86 test for four hours or 7 passes, which ever comes first. Be sure your CPU fan is working well.

Hello!

I'm having some issues here with my PC and I hope I've posted in the correct forum. I just built my own PC (about a month ago) and I've been getting the dreaded blue screen of death on and off ever since. The most recent BSOD mentioned something about:

'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA'
***STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFFFF, 0x00000008, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0x00000000)

I'll start by giving you some specs of my build:

Asus P5K-E/Wi-Fi AP
Intel C2D E6750
OCZ Reaper HPC Edition PC2-6400 DDR2 2GB 2X1GB Dual Channel
EVGA GeForce 8800GT
CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Windows XP Pro SP2

This is what I've done thus far to try to fix this problem...

1) I found out that my RAM required 2.10V so I manually adjusted this in the BIOS and also set the timing to 4-4-4-15-2T.

2) Ran Memtest86+, OCCT, Prime95, and Seatools and all tests were completed successfully without any errros.

3) Updated all drivers and firmwares.

I've done some research and I think It might be the RAM (apparently my MOBO only supports 1.8V RAM) but it managed to pass Memtest86. I've attached a file of my minidumps. If anyone can shine some light on this situation, it will be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Took the pc out of standby this morning, and got the msg in the thread title. The code is as follows:

STOP: 0X00000050 (0XE4112000, 0X00000001, 0X8057F426,
0X00000001)

Phyiscal memory dump completed.

I did some searching, and it seems as if several things could cause this. Ram, mobo, bios, etc. Anyone have an idea on how to narrow it down?

I had several occasions of BSOD over last month or so on my new Acer Aspire laptop (only a month or so old), with same error code as Page_Fault_in_Nonpaged_Area Stop 0x050

Because it happened a few times already I cannot directly relate to any changes in settings and software (loaded some over this time). However the only hardware changes I made right when I got the compute was to add some more RAM - ie. 2x4GB Corsair DDR3 PC3 8500F. I noticed that the speed of the additional memory is bit different from the one which came with the laptop (2x4GB Kingston DDR3, PC 10700). Not sure if that can cause issues. But have done full memory check recently which came up with no issues.

Hi,

I'm having a lot of trouble with my computer since yesterday.
It restarts itself every few minuts. I get a blue screen with
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.
Error code is 0x00000050, the other parametrs are different every
time. fffffbf8 appears most often i think.

I would say that this happens randomly,
but I noticed that it happens always when i try to run regedit or
do a search in windows explorer.

I don't have any new drivers installed recently. Last thing i
installed was a usb scanner but that was more then a week ago.

I checked some things that were recommended on microsoft.com.

- It could be caused by variant of the Sdbot virus (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897079/en-us)
First i checked for files: msdirectx.sys, haxdrv.sys, msdrv.exe,
sdkcore.exe and didn't found them.
I also checked drive c with Microsoft Malicous Software removal tool,
but it says that system is clear.
- It could be caused by rootkit spyware programs: Msupd5.exe,
Reloadmedude.exe. I followed steps in this article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894278/en-us and also didn't
fount anything.

Eventho i had nod32 antivirus i installed Windows Defender, which didn't found anything too.

I don't know what to do next. Please help me.

If you need to know more detail bout a hardware i have tell me what
should i write.

I will be gratefull for any sugestions.

Answer:PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA - i need help

Could be a memory problem. Download and run memtest86 for at least 7 passes. That should tell you if it is a memory problem. The ffffffbf8 may be a memory address.

There is only one dump file in your upload and that indicates 0x50 error which points at a memory issue (although could be caused by something else)

first step would be to run a check on your RAM, i would advise to download and burn memtest and to run in overnight for multiple passes and see what the outcome is

Hi thank you for your attention,
I know there are threads out there about this problem already and i just wanted to cut through the basics. I am not that computer literate so plz be patient with me.

My Specs...

AMD Phenom IIx6 1090T Black
ASUS M4A78T-E
4GB 2x2 DDR3 G-Skills Ripjaws
Windows 7x64
Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
SSD Main and 1TB alt
...if i forgot something tell me

This error started when I was gaming i dunno how to post batch reports but I ran memtest86+ and found 1 of my 2gig sticks was faulty and i pulled it. I thought this would solve the prob but... I also ran dskchk and it fixed a few threads. I can get online and watch shows or movies but I can't play my favorite games. Also sometimes my ssd won't recognise in the system. I recently re-installed but that didn't work either, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Remember i am a little green...

welcome to Seven Forums. I will try to assist you in this. Have you done any work inside your computer recently or installed any new programs or drivers?

Your error is many times caused by memory or memory corruption.

Code:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.

I have a vinyl cutter that I connected to my laptop. I used to get the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on my taskbar when I plugged it into my USB port. My computer crashed and I had to install a new hard drive. I must have reinstalled the cutter's software incorrectly, because I don't get the "safely remove" icon anymore and when I unplug the USB cable, I get this page fault error on a BSOD unless I shut the laptop completely OFF first.
Is there a way to fix this without trying to reinstall the cutter? The installation was complicated to start with, so I really don't want to start over and risk doing it wrong all over again.
Thanks in advance! (pic of screen attached in case that helps)

Hi and welcome to the forums .

To get rid of the BSoD it's worth doing a system restore (System Restore) or if that doesn't work a repair install (Repair Install).

Hopefully this will get you back into windows although the Sims 3 will probably have uninstalled itself due to the system restore.

From here you can see if installing the Sims 3 again causes the same problem which it hopefully won't.

If you have any questions please ask.

On random shut downs, my gal friend's PC gives the BSOD:
pci.sys - Page fault in nonpaged area,
Then it freezes up requiring the shut down to be manually completed.

I've just run the diagnostic set PC-Doctor for Windows.
All hardware passes the tests except:

PCI Express - Video Card test
Video Card test

Video Card: ASUS EAH3450
Under both tests the following results were obtained:

ATI Video Test: Video Memory Test - FAILED
ATI Video Test: Non-Snooped Blit Test - UNKNOWN ERROR

Before I assume the video card is "broken" and begin the warranty process, are there any other possibilities I should look at for this problem to be sure it is not something else?
The card had worked fine until now since I built the PC for her back in June.
Thx

Answer:pci.sys - Page fault in nonpaged area ...???

If you can keep the computer working long enough install and run 3Dmark,the mewest your vid card supports,if the vid card is dying hopefully it will overheat lock up,update to the latest ATI driver first.

I received a Stop error when I was actually doing nothing. Just happened. I have attached the dump. I restored to a couple of days ago, and Windows had to repair my Start items. I am back up, but I don't know what happened and how I can stop it from happening again. Any insights would be appreciated.

I own a P50 laptop running Windows 10.  Since December 2017, I have started getting BSOD with orange color whenever I reboot my computer that says "Page Fault in Non Paged Area".  After the system supposedly collects error information, it takes me to normal windows login screen and from then on, it is smooth sailing, until I shut down and reboot the next time. I restored back to the time when the system was working fine...that didn't help.  I checked Windows update and Lenovo's system update software.  They both say that everything is updated. Can someone please help?  I am a little freaked out because I read this could be related to RAM hardware issue.  I sincerely hope it is not the case. I have also tried couple of solutions from googling like checking disk routine and clearing my registry.  Those didn't help either. Thoughts anyone?

I saw this thread some time ago somewher in here but it seemes to be dead now and seemed that no real help was given on how to fix it. Anyways I had the same problem with my machine where it Blue screen with the same error message "page fault in nonpaged area ". Here is what I did to fix the problem, might or might not help others but here it is anyways:

1. Firstly I noticed this was a memory problem, so since I had 8GB of RAM installed some applications or games seemed to be wanting to make use of all the RAM available, but ofcourse Windows Vista x32 bit can only read 4GB of RAM. So I removed the addtional RAM till I was left with only the 4GB.

2. Believe it or not, I then opened up my systems and gave it a good clean with a vacum cleaner specially the fan so much dust had gathered there thast the head sitn was clogged up with dust. This could have been causing some overheating issues.

Bingo problem sorted my system no longer Blue Screens.... Hope this helps all.

My sister's computer has been having a BSOD with this message:

Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
stop 0x0x00000050

She also is getting this event in eventviewer

type: error
source: systemerror
Category: (102)
EventID 1003
BcCode: 100050 BCP1:FFFFFF78 BCP2: 0000000
BCP3: 80594A9D BCP4: 0000000 OSVER:5_1_2600 S_P: 3_0

Her specs are:

HP Pavilion a750e
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Motherboard: ASUS: either K8S-LA or Salmon-GL6E
Ram Speed, size and #sticks: 2 sticks of DDR PC3200, 1 GB each
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 7600 GS
PSU: not sure as I don't have the computer in front of me right now; probably 350 Watts. We did upgrade her video card and made sure that her power supply that would accomodate the new card.
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3

The bsod seems to be a little random but it usually occurs when she clicks on certain folders on her desktop. We have tried rebooting in safe mode and with startup programs disabled, but it stil occurs.

Her ram is relatively new, it was already replaced once. She may have run some memory tests on it but I'm not sure. She doesn't remember making any hardware or software changes around the time the bsod started occuring. For some reason her system restore didn't have any restore points saved, so system restore is not an option. We have already searched for solutions for the page fault in nonpaged area error, but none of them have helped.

Here are some minidumps. Thanks for any help.

Answer:Page fault in nonpaged area BSOD

All errors are the same 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

Unfortuantely they only list Windows OS druvers as the probable cause and for the most part OS drivers are not much help for diagnosing the problem, only pointing out that there is a problem.

1. Have you scanned for infections?

2. Since it is an HP I am not sure you can do this but go into your BIOS, find the memory voltage setting and compare it to the voltage the memory was designed for by the RAM's manufacturer. Are there descrepencies?

3. Run Memtest on your RAM.

See the link below and follow the instructions. There is a newer version than what is listed but either one should work. If you need to see what the Memtest screen looks like go to reply #21. The third screen is the Memtest screen.

Step1 - Let it run for a LONG time. The rule is a minimum of 7 Passes; the more Passes after 7 so much the better. The only exception is if you start getting errors before 7 Passes then you can skip to Step 2.

There are 8 individual tests per Pass. Many people will start this test before going to bed and check it the next day.

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Do you still need help with this problem?
I will be notified if you reply to this topic and will respond within 48 hours.

While you are waiting for a reply, please try these 4 things:
1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Get ALL available, Win8.1 compatible updates from the manufacturer's website.
3. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
4. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Memory corruption caused by an as yet un-named driver (probably your Sftredirlh.sys)
I would run memtest and driver verifier

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.
Beyond that, please run Verifier with these settings:

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another co... Read more

I have always a blue screen after computer is booting into windows. It's not always at the same time / plus minus 15sec. It's happening on the login screen when I wait long enough. I can also login an then it comes up after a while.
Odly enough, the only time it doesn't do it, it's when I boot into safe mode without connection,
in every other mode it happens and it's driving me nuts...

What I have tried so far:
- run computer in diagnostic mode (all services deactivated)
- run chckdsk
- sfc /scannow
- uninstalled wlan drivers
- uninstalled lan drivers
- uninstalled graphic drivers (both nvidia but also intel)

any idea / hint ???

I want to mention that the attached log files had been created in safe mode.

Upload your MSINFO32.nfo file. We have to check for something there before saying something suggestive to you.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

bsod: page fault in nonpaged area --> please help!

hello,

got a problem that's driving me crazy.
I keep on getting a blue screen after windows start-up saying: "page fault in nonpaged area" stop 0x00000050, and have to reboot after that.

after x times of rebooting, the system starts correctly en runs as smoothly as ever.

I'm using win XP pro, fully updated. my lay-out is set on win classic, but it always changes back to the xp-look, also my sound-schemes chances back to the standard scheme everytime I have this problem.

I checked both my ram modules, they're both ok, when I remove one and only use the other, the problem keeps appearing.

I checked both my HD's, with diagnose-software from the manufacterer's site, they are also okay.

I can't find any help at microsoft support site, so anyone who knows how to help me or has any suggestions, please help me...

Answer:bsod: page fault in nonpaged area

Then you are too low on RAM memory. You stated that when you use only one module, the problem appears. Unless I don't follow what you're trying to say.

i have one PC that keeps restarting every time i try to download something off the internet. so i took it to a shop that tested everything and they told me all i needed to do was reformat it since the tests showed everything was fine.

before the reformat, the PC was working perfectly except for the freaking restart problem.

during the reformat, while installing windows, i get a BSOD with this.

page fault in nonpaged area

0x00000050 (0xF7B0300C 0x00000000 0x805D71EB 0x00000000)

thinking it was the hard disk, i ran memtest+ on it which told me the hd passed, so it was probably caused by a different hardware issue, i googled around and it told me faulty ram was the most probable cause, so i moved the entire hd to a working CPU and reformatted it there, same error.

my other CPU works perfectly with its original hard disk so the problem isn't with other hardware, and memtest+ said the problematic hard disk is ok.

anyone got any idea on what's wrong? i really appreciate any help right about now...

i'm using windows xp sp3 to reformat btw...

Hello,
I need some help. pc is getting BSOD going into windows normally or even safe mode. I switched the memory sticks. used only one at a time. also replaced mem sticks with another mem that I have here (same size and type) still no go. I also unplugged both dvd-rom and cd-rom drives and floppy drive, and modem and rebooted but still get BSOD.

i then tried to do a recovery using the wind xp cd but get thru the process and select 1 in the recovery process and after hitting enter, i get the BSOD again. I decided to format and re-install but no go again still get BSOD.

sorry I should say it is getting page_fault_in _nonpaged_area stop 0x00000050. I was thinking of pulling hd and formatting it through another pc. but . . . I am wondering if this will work or not. what if this is a motherboard problem? ugh!! ready to pull my hair.

I would appreciate any help. I am working on a friend's pc so i will give as much as i know.

pc is a:
dimension 4600
512 mb ram
need anything i will try to find it.

thx,

Answer:BSOD Page fault in nonpaged area

cjpatts,

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue!

I am correct in saying you REINSTALLED the operating system on this computer?

If not, what was the last thing that happened just before you received this error message?

Most of the time this error message is related an application issue or an update of the OS or an application.

If this is the case, and the OS has not been reinstalled, try running the last known good option. It will often times take care of the issue.

As the computer is starting, the screen will go blank with the cursor in the top left corner. Press the F8 key 2 or 3 times to get to the menu with last known good on it. Select it and see what happens.

If you did reinstall the OS, then it is a hardware error. But it is unusual to have 0x00000050 Page_Fault_In_Non-Paged_Area on a hardware error. You may have an issue with the hard drive.

If you suspect the hard drive, you can purchase a VERY inexpensive drive and install the OS to that. Then take the original drive and see if you can slave it into the system so you can get the files off of it.

Let me know how you make out and I will see what else I can offer if needed.

Hi, my first time here.

I have a new Dell Aurora R4, only a month old, with 32GB of RAM and a 3TB harddrive, for gaming though it isn't exclusively all I use it for. (Technically two months old, since they delayed delivery by a whole month). I apologize for not providing more detailed specifications as I am at work now, will update with the relevant information when I get home.

In any case, my problems started a little over a week ago. Boot-up was normal, logging in took a few minutes longer than it previously did. Immediately evident was that my network refused to initialize, reporting "No Internet access".

The second issue that manifested was that everything but core Windows functions took at least 20 or more minutes execute. About an hour after logging in, the network connector reports internet access. 20 minutes after that, once Firefox has booted up I can confirm that I do not actually have internet access. Or even access to any other devices attached to the LAN.

On a hunch, I ran chkdsk with the /R option. Unfortunately, underestimated the time that would take. When it ended 6 hours later, I checked the log in the Event Viewer. There were so many bad clusters that it scrolled off the log, so I could not tell how many there actually were.

This should have been the end of it, unfortunately it had no impact on my system. I decided to run it a second time, and this time it reported no errors with a count of 0KB Bad Clusters.

It was about this point that I de... Read more

hey there been looking around online as to what i can do regarding this bsod. its been happening very frequently rarely whenever it happens does it happen immediately a second time but rather after 30 minutes or so of my pc being on. ive posted the zip below; steps ive done already are cmd chkdsk, nothing came up in there. virus scan. nothing there. ive system restored to 2 weeks ago. issue remains. ive read online some people are saying update graphics drivers and its a possible fix so im doing that as we speak. heres the zip let me know what you think, your help is appreciated!

edit: pc specs are as follows.
i7 2600k (not oc'd)
water cooled
3x hd radeon 6950 (running in crossfire)
asus maximus iv extreme mobo
ripjaw ram. 16 gb 4x4gb sticks
not sure what else i should add here but if you need more details feel free to let me know. almost finished updating drivers for my graphics cards as well.

edit2: gpu software is updated. for some reason it did not require me to restart my pc. so im going to do that manually and continue as normal until/if it happens again will be checking back every 10 minutes or so for a solution.

Hello,

I am having some difficulty identifying the cause of a persistent Windows 10 BSOD error.
It happens about twice a week, with no obvious cause or trigger.
Any suggestions or assistance towards troubleshooting this would be much appreciated.PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
no specific driver or error code is identified on screen at the time of the BSOD
This is on a new Dell laptop and the error has present since new. I can find no evidence of hardware issues and am thinking that it is likely a software driver bug. Based on this thread it may be the Dell Wifi driver and I have rolled back the Wifi driver to an older version today. Unless you know a way to force a fault though, it will be about five days before I have an indication that the BSOD may be resolved.

Answer:Help with BSOD? - Page Fault in Nonpaged Area

Hi. . .

The 2 dumps both named your Broadcom wifi adapter driver as the probable cause - bcmwl63a.sys

Yours has a timestamp = 24 May 2015

You'll have to find an update for the driver - https://www.sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=bcmwl63a.sys

However, I see that only your system manufacturer offers the driver. Check with Dell Support - http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04

If they don't have an updated driver, you'll have to look at alternative hardware for wifi.

Hi and welcome.
Mindump check.
Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe x 4
A generic error - not telling us much.

Some reasons for blue screens
New hardware - software installed.
Device driver - Video driver - corrupted - faulty.
Faulty Ram - overheating - dying hard drive etc.

Run a Memory test.
http://www.memtest.org/
http://www.memtest86.com/download.html
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

Best to run a full scan - on individual Ram sticks.
Download and burn the ISO to CD
Boot from that CD and run the memory test overnight or at least for a few hours.
Allow it to run for at least 8 passes.

Check Device Manager
Click on the Start button.
In the search box type
devmgmt.msc

Hit Enter.
Check for any yellow, red exclamation marks.
A driver may need updating.

Overheating.

I had to recently replace my RAM due to multiple BDOS error involding it including this one. I am now using 2 4GB kingston RAM stick but am still getting this error. I reformatted my computer less then 4 days ago and only installed a minimal amount of programs. i have done a chkdsk, updated and re-installed all my drivers, run a memtest86 test and even tried to run the computer by switching out the RAM, but I still managed to get the error. I have installed all windows updates and haven't overclocked anything since getting this computer. Before this I experience a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error but that was fixed as soon as I replace my RAM.

Hi all,

I've recently run into the dreaded BSOD - Page Fault in Non-Paged Area screen. Initially, it started randomly while I was copying some files over but now has escalated into always occurring every time when I start up.

Basically, windows will start up and get past the welcome screen so I can see my desktop. After a few seconds though, the BSOD will show up with the error code of: 0x00000050 (FFFFF8A00A966000, 0000000000000000, FFFFF80003597079, 0000000000000000)

I was wondering if anyone would assist in diagnosing what the issue may be and how to fix it. I have attached the dump files in this post and the specs of my machine is:

I5-750
4GB RAM
HD 6850 2GB
4 HDDS (120GB SSD, 1TB, 750GB, 500GB)
Windows 7 Ultimate

Edit: I've also performed memory tests but they do not show that anything is an issue there.

Edit 2.0: This is what shows up on safe mode.
Problem signature:

Answer:BSOD - Page Fault In Nonpaged Area

What memory tests have you run? How many passes did you run them for?
Since you did not find any hardware related problems, I suspect the following:
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite Public:Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite Public
Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\ET6 Public:Start Menu\Programs\GIGABYTE\ET6 Public
Start Menu\Programs\Utilities\EasyCleaner RAWRZ\Julz:Start Menu\Programs\Utilities\EasyCleaner RAWRZ\Julz
Start Menu\Programs\Video\MSI Afterburner RAWRZ\Julz:Start Menu\Programs\Video\MSI Afterburner RAWRZ\Julz
DaemonTools comes with a driver sptd.sys that is known to cause crashes.

EasyTune6 provides interfaces to the hardware for software based overclocking. Those interfaces can cause instability since software overclocking does not provide voltage changes necessary for overclocking to be stable.

3rd party Windows 7 optimization software is not required for Windows 7. Windows 7 is already light weight, so stripping it down further by cleaning the registry and removing Windows features damages the OS beyond repair so that a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 is needed. This is the most likely scenario you are facing.

MSI Afterburner causes instability for the same reason as EasyTune6.

Good day,

when I start my computer, I see a blue screen of death with the following error: page fault in nonpaged area. Starting in safe mode gives the same blue screen. At the bottom of the screen the following line is displayed:

0x00000050 (0x80fff000,0x00000000,0xf86e9036,0x00000000)

It is a Dell computer with a 2.8 Ghz processer and 512 MB internal memory. The computer is original, I mean not overclocked. Could you help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Answer:Bsod, page fault in nonpaged area

Anne, the mods will most likely move this to the BSOD sub-forum in the Windows OS board.

Your error is 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

As you can read the cause could be due to many things but right now we don't have enough information to even make an educated guess except for that due to you receiving this message even in safe mode idicates it might be a driver issue..

Please give us your hardware specs and the internet security you are running. Also, have you downloaded anything recently or have you made any changes to your system?

My problem is similar to previous thread, Bad_Pool_Header . Machine is trusty Dell 4600 running XP SP2. BSODs starting to crop up, msgs in subject line. I downloaded and ran BSOD_XP_v1.3_jcgriff2_PROD.exe. Attached is TSF_XP_SUPPORT.

Verrry grateful for your help!!

Answer:Bad_Pool_Header; also page fault in nonpaged area

A few more pieces of information about this problem, maybe none relevant:
- I tried System Restore; was foiled to go back very far because of updated program Spyware Blaster (version which for the first time affects Chrome browser), but did succeed in going back about a day
- I looked through Device Manager to see if any drivers had yellow flags; none did
- When safe starting with networking, my internet connection (wireless) flickers (does not stay connected for more than 5 seconds at a time), but most recent normal starts gave me internet connection

All of the above since receiving bsod about pool header. Going back further:
- Page fault in nonpaged area bsod cropped up about a month ago; did extensive chkdisk and was under the impression that this had cleared up the problem
- Sound stopped functioning in about the past month and I did not rectify the problem
- Other recent out of the ordinary activities: started using speech recognition; starting using PCTools Registry Cleaner; have been defragmenting religiously

I have included a pic hoping somebody could tell me what to do. I can't log into any of the advanced options in F8. No Safe Mode or Command Prompt and it won't let me load the recovery when pressing ALT F10. It just always brings me back to the blue screen with the stop error and when I tried booting my recovery disc it won't load and keeps going to the blue screen. I did have it first to boot to the cd-rom when restarted. In my bios it says in my advanced options that my Infrared Port is Disabled and I can't Enable it cause it needs to be done by a system supervisor. Any suggestions would be greatly thanked.

Answer:BSOD: Page Fault In Nonpaged Area

Since you tried booting recovery cd from cdrom and still you get BOD then its likely to the issue with the hardware. Try changing the ram, if you have two ram then try switching the ram or try using only one ram. Mostly in this case, Ram is culprit or mobo

Please uninstall ASUS AI Suite 3, it is known for causing bluescreens.

Invalid memory was referenced, this might be caused by the Windows File System.
Please run below tests, if the hard drive tests comes clean then run the memory test.
If the memory test comes clean, then run driver verifier to find any offending drivers.

Code:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffff9c62ffff9c58, memory referenced.
Arg2: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: fffff803af6c3d83, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
address.

Hello, for the past several months now my computer has been getting many BSOD messages along the lines "Page fault in nonpaged area" and a few others who's descriptions escape me at the moment. It has gotten to the point where I can barely get anything done anymore because of the BSODs or the freezes I get.

My computer is running Windows 7 home premium 64bit, its an OEM version, and the computer itself is about a year and a half old (No new hardware was ever added).

Please tell me if any other information is required and I will do my best to supply it.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, my computer was fine for the past year to two years, i've never gotten a BSOD. But yesterday I got one and I've been struggling to deal with it since. I believe the problem may be with a hard drive of mine. Because everytime I even attempt to plug it into the USB (its in an enclosure right now), it gives me a BSOD. And the same thing happens when i try to plug it in as a regular sata hard drive. anything I do i get a BSOD. I am even unable to boot the computer from the cd. any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated, because I do not want to lose the things on that hard drive. I will also post the six minidumps.

Seems to be related to the wireless NIC drivers because Dell doesn't have any Win10 drivers for this model. I think I installed the latest version Dell does have and it normally works fine. It just seems to have issues if I'm maxing my connection downloading a huge file or something like that.
