Multiple Bsods over the past month mainly "irql not less or equal"

Question: Multiple Bsods over the past month mainly "irql not less or equal"

Hi there, I've been having problems with an inherited computer recently, I got it after the owner said they were experiencing problems and the repair guys estimated it would cost as much as a computer to fix so they bought a new one.

I think this was just a case of lazyness by the repair guys so I took it home and tried to start it. it wouldn't boot into windows so formated I loaded windows 7 U 66 and boom it worked.

Now I've had a few BSODS on it and updated what I could with different websites from microsoft and HP I can't figure out what is causing it
ranging from "irql not less or equal" to "fage fault in non paged area" and "bad pool header"

Any Ideas?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Multiple Bsods over the past month mainly "irql not less or equal"

Please run a SFC.

I got my dell few days ago. Installed it with Samsung EVO 850 SSD 500 Gb and Kingston 8GB PC3L - 12800 SODIMM.The Windows 10 Home OEM home is installed on HDD 1TB so I decided to use Samsung Data Migration software to clone the data to SSD. However, the OS crashed and decided to install a fresh Windows 10 Enterprise to SSD and deleted the previous OS on HDD using diskpart. Now after Installing Windows 10 Ent OS files. Every after BIOS run, I got BSOD errors "MEMORY MANAGEMENT" + "Page Fault it non paged area" + "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"

Hey everyone,

I am new to this forum, so please excuse me any layman propensities I might exhibit here.

So, I am lucky (at least that was my initial thought) owner of a brand new Asus Zenbook UX32LA, 256 SSD GB, 8GB Ram netbook with win8/64bit OS. After cofiguring the computer I ve been experiencing multiple BSODs pointing most probably to memory problems. It's really annoying, as the netbook is new and I tend to get at least to BSODs per day for the last 10 days just during net-browsing. I looked up the graphic drivers if they are up-to-date, but the problem still persists.

I would appreciate any help on this.

Attached is the rar file.

Have a great day!

Answer:multiple BSOD - mostly "IRQL driver not less or equal"

The reports are incomplete. Please rerun the data collection app and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself says that it's done). Then zip it up and upload it. In particular, I'm looking for the MSINFO32.nfo and systeminfo.txt reports.

Out of 16 memory dumps there were 8 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

You can get a head start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized. i5 and i7 processors can be "auto-overclocked" by using Intel's TurboBoost feature. If so, it's safe to disregard this caution.

Processor may be overclocked!

Problem:

Everything was running fine until yesterday, when my PC crashed with the BSOD giving me the "IRQL not less or equal" error. I ignored it and carried on- which resulted in the computer crashing with "Memory management" blues whenever I started something that was not the browser (It later started crashing on browser start too).

I first thought it was the temperature - Memtest95 and GPUtemp said otherwise.

So I started testing the RAM (taking one DIMM out) with Memtest86- It passed 4 cycles, so I shut the PC down and put the other DIMM in.

When I turned the PC on again, there was no signal sent to my screen, and none to my keyboard (and the HDD light on the front of the case did not start blinking like usual). The fans were running, so I figured something might be wrong with the DIMMs I put in. I removed the graphics card and plugged the screen into the motherboard.

Now the screen gets a signal, background lighting starts up, and then it shuts down to hibernation again. This repeats itself until the machine is shut down manually.

I got no idea what to do.

System specs: http://pastebin.com/DQwejZLx
I can not post the Minidump folder, since the PC can't start and I did not back it up. Sorry.

Thank you for your help.

Hello, i've been having this problem for a week now, tried to fix it but no luck what so ever. So i got tired and i am looking for your assistance on this matter.
Every time I play Aion online, in about 10-30mins i get a blue screen saying "REFERENCE BY POINTER" or "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL", tried many methods that were stated on the forums of different sites but no luck... that is why i am attaching my BSOD information and hoping for you assistance. Thank you in advance.
PS: When I play Aion, and the PC restarts (caused by BSOD) most of the time the minidump isn't created and sometimes it doesn't go into the BSOD it just restarts, but i know the problem is the BSOD.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x86(32bit)
It's the original installed OS on my system (OEM)
I've had this computer for ~4years, drivers always up to date and i reisntalled my Windows yesterday.
Attaching the Zip file with the information required which was on BSOD posting instructions post.

Answer:BSOD playing Aion, "REFERENCE BY POINTER" and "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"

No DMPS included in upload try this method.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP
We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32.
To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter

When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).

I update my sound drive and the problem was resolved. But, in the next day, the blue screens appears again, but with another information:

Answer:'Page Fault in nonpaged Area" AND "Driver Irql not less or equal"

Maybe faulty memory

Hi,

The culprit is faulty memory. You can run memtest to stress the ram. If memtest reports the ram is faulty, ram is bad. However Memtest is not a perfect tool to test the memory as some faulty ram can pass memtest.

Suggestion
1. Check the temperature of the CPU and make sure that it is not overheat (ie temperature < 60C)
Make sure that the CPU fan works properly
2. Reseat the memory stick to another memory slot. Reseat video card as well.
3. Downclock the ram. Check to default setting if you video card is overclocked.
4. Clean the dust inside the computer case
5. Make sure that the ram is compatible to the motherboard
6. Check the bios setting about memory timing and make sure that it is on
For example : DIMM1 and DIMM2 do not have the same timing.
DIMM1: Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.0-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz)
DIMM2: Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)
DIMM3: Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)
7. Make sure that your PSU have adequate power to drive all the hardware including USB devices
8. Run chkdsk /r at command prompt
9. Run 3DMark 2005 to test your video card
10. Upgrade BIOS

If it still crashes, diagnostic which memory stick is faulty
Take out one memory stick. If windows does not crash, the removed memory stick is faulty.
If you have only one memory stick, replace the ram

Hello all,
I've been running into a serious problem as soon as I upgraded to windows 10 on my computer. My cousin did it, so I don't really know what he did, I wish I did it my own... Anyways, I had big BSOD problems few weeks ago when I was either working, watching videos or gaming, it seemed to happen randomly with different CPU activity. I also lost my start menu icon, the clock was not working anymore, same for Cortana and basically the whole bar down there. I got tired of it and decided to reset the PC to it's original state and start fresh, which worked perfectly, and it was quite simple.
Two weeks later, the problem appeared again ( I think I should have disable the updates and make a backup ). It's pretty much out of control right now, freezing all the time, giving me either a BSOD or just freezing every 20 to 30 minutes of use; this is so frustrating, not able to do anything. I've been working on that for 2 days now and I can't find a fix, I think I tried pretty much everything and nothing is working. The worst is that I tried to reset the computer (either removing everything or keeping my files) and it says that it "ran into a problem and was cancelled, nothing was changed".

Please, any help would be amazing, I'm working at the other side of the planet right now and my computer is my lifeline; I need to use it a lot. I don't mind using the "nuclear option" against it which would be to reinstall windows and everything, but I can't even do that.... Read more

Hi everyone,
I have built a new system. I will include the specs below. While gaming the computer randomly goes into blue screen. There are times when I can game up to 45 mins and other times where it goes blue screen about 5 minutes after the game starts. The message I get in the blue screen says "DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL." I have searched online for solutions but so far nothing has worked. I updated the BIOS, and installed all motherboard drivers from manufacturer website (Ethernet, Audio, AMD, etc). I have two DMP files which I will link below. Please help!

I've been struggling with sporadic game crash issues for half a year.
Not sure if it's hardware related.

I posted here a few weeks back and got some help, but it didn't seem to fix the issue outright/thoroughly.

So installed windows 10 clean, and they went away for a long time (2 weeks, which I think is a record).
Another one just occurred though, so that's why I'm back. Hopefully someone can some insight.
(Note: I ran memtest86: for 7 hours without error, gpu and cpu temps are good
(not sure about the time at crash, but every time I check them, during stress tests even, they are normal).

I had been running the latest crimson driver 16.5.3, and had bios 1206 before it crashed. Thought one may have been the cause so updated both of them...so now I've got crimson 16.6.1 and 1805 bios (fixes stability).
This time, within a few minutes after exiting out of the game, with steam still running in the background, I got the IRQL BSOD while navigating file explorer.

I've no idea where to look to find exactly what driver is needed for each piece of hardware. I've spent literally hours scouring the forums, but most all the semi-related hits are dated and/or have different hardware.

Thanks in advance for any help!

My system has been unstable for a long time now, and I am trying to slowly trouble shoot it. The main problem is that there seems to be no specific reason why my computer crashes all the time. some times it crashes at start, other times it will crash in the middle of a game (I am a heavy gamer). The time between crashes is random at best. It often crashes a lot within a few days and then is fine for a few weeks, rinse and repeat. most times it crashes when I am surfing the web ( I use Firefox) or I am switching between two windows. I run dual monitors off of a single 480 for productivity, but disable the second when I game.

important note: For a long time I had issues with AMD's FUEL service. when I googled the problem, most people with nividia cards experienced no ill effects when turning it off. I have an error about AOD drivers in the event logs. not sure what that is all about.

-thanks in advance for any help you are willing to provide.

Hi All,

First time posting on this forum, please let me know if you need additional information. About a week ago my laptop (Asus, Windows 7, 64 bit) started to get a BSOD on shutdown. The shutdown starts as normal, then when it gets to the part where it goes to something similar to the start up screen, it quickly gives a BSOD. After the BSOD it restarts, then i'm able to shut down as normal at the start screen, no BSOD. This has happened every time i've tried shutting down for the past week. Today I tried to restore the computer to an earlier time, but got a BSOD there as well and the restoration failed.

I've attached the zip file requested in the instructions. Any help is appreciated.

Further on i am using an HP ProBook 6560b, which is my work Laptop, (all admin rights are on me)

Hello!
so I basically just recently got a new laptop and started using it about a week ago but past few days (2-3) i got 3 BSOD already all saying "Driver irql not less or equal." I'm not sure what's causing it but it's making me a bit worried. I really hope i did the dump file thing right. (I have windows 8 btw)

Also, if you don't mind just making your answers a bit more simple and concise because I really don't know much about laptops or these things, basically a noob sorry.

Thanks in advance for your help!

UPDATE:
So I heard there's a problem with a chipset of some sort?

So just tried updating Intel Corporation - Storage Controller - Intel(R) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller, it has been trying to update since a week ago apparently. For some reason, it keeps failing.
And then I tried going to synaptics drivers, to see if it that will help, but a previous version of the Synaptics Touchpad has already been installed. Should I uninstall to install again from Drivers | Synaptics?

Or i do have some sort of feeling it's because of McAfee because I've looked at forums with the same BSOD error as me and a few said to delete McAfee but I dont understand why and if it applies to myself.

Make sure you have the latest Java installed well, then head on over to this link:

Intel? Driver Update Utility

Let it scan and most likely it will show you updates to install. I am not completely sure (a little rusty doing this but that's ok hah), but perhaps the SMB driver is part of the Intel Chipset Update Utility. (I think so.)

In any case, we at the site and you together will fix this up. Good luck with the above for now.

I do recommend using the McAfee uninstall utility they have on offer, in Safe Mode is best - if issues persist after the above. Then, install Microsoft Security Essentials either permanently or temporarily until you have it all sorted out.

Heres my minidumps:
Attachment 35760
Specs: i5 4690k @ stock speeds, GTX 980ti @ 1416mhz (Gaming 6G Custom cooler by MSI), 24gb of DDR3 (I did a MEMTest on this and it completed fine.
Peripherals: Steelseries Rival gaming mouse, Cooler Master Quickfire Rapid, Logitech C270 Webcam, Hyper X Cloud 2 headset, Xbox 360 wireless receiver, Dell L100 keyboard
I'm really not sure what could be causing these crashes. I clean installed Windows 10 on July 29th when it came out. A few days after that it started the random crashing. Ive tried multiple different versions of NVIDIA Drivers including 353.30, 355.60, and beta 355.78. I've also made sure all my chipset and audio drivers are fully up to date, which they are.

Hello There,

You might want to take a look at these articles by Microsoft.

Microsoft thinks it's a driver problem. Here are a couple of articles giving some in-depth debugging discussion which might be of use to you...

Hello,
since a couple of days my system who was pretty solid until now, started to randomly display BSOD with "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" as cause. My system configuration is as following:

-Windows 7 x64 retail (installed on 5 January 2011) previous installation (also a windows 7 x64) was wiped using [email protected] killdisk utility.

-Motherboard,cpu, powersupply, ram and hard drives are 2 years and 6 months old. Sound card is 1 month old and video card is 10 months old.

CPU: Intel core 2 quad Q9450 2,66Ghz
MotherBoard: Asus P5Q-E
Power supply: LC POWER Arkangel 850w

I get no error with memory tests such as: windows memory diagnostics and memtest86, and no problems also with cpu stress tests. The error seem to happen randomly, but I noticed it seems related to tasks that require the use of a video card, for example, the oldest of the two BSOD happened as soon as I clicked on a video embedded in facebook, while the other one whilst playing a videogame. Attached you will find the outputs of: SysInternals AutoRuns, Perfmon and BSOD file collection app. Thanks in advance for the time and consideration.

I looked my problem up, and apparently something called Intel Rapid Storage Technology causes this problem. I don't know what that is? I don't think I have that software, so why am I getting the same error as this thread?
I have Intel Rapid Start Technology (in the MSI bios), but not what is mentioned. I get the bluescreen when I restart or turn on my computer, but only occasionally.

I went onto my computer, and a blue screen came up after the "Starting windows" screen. It would not let me put in my password or anything, just a bluescreen with "Driver IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" message. At the bottom it had "STOP: 0x000000D1" with "ndis.sys" below it. I also cannot get onto the computer at all, it just has the bluescreen and tells me to restart my computer. If anyone can help me it would be great.

Hello Avionix and welcome to Sevenforums.

We appreciate your information, but we'll need your dump files in order to analyse your actual BSODs you're experiencing.

Your Minidump folder should be at the path C:\Windows\Minidump. If there's no files, make sure minidumps are enabled by -

Quote:
Go to Start, then Run, then type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery button
Ensure that "Automatically restart" is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select "Small memory dump (64 kB)" in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as "%systemroot%\Minidump" (without the quotes)
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.

Next time you'd experience a BSOD, a dump is supposed to be generated. When it's generated, wrap it up in a zip and upload it.

I recently received a BSOD while gaming. I noticed that I did not have a minidump file although Windows is configured to create one to my system SSD. My machine boots/reboots fairly fast (SSD), so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it. My profile is updated with the latest hardware/OS.

Thank you for any help.

It's a build up pc.
Original OS: Windows 7 32-bit
Current OS: Windows 7 64-bit
8Gb ram
Age of system: Less than a week.

The pc was running windows 7 32-bit just for 1 day, but since it has 8Gb ram I installed Windows 7 64-bit.

The BSOD did not happen at least when 32-bit system was running.

I'm suspicious that the first time I got this BSOD was just after installing AVG antivirus, but I'm not really sure, I can't remember.

The BSOD occurs randomly while doing anything like web browsing, messenger, playing music, etc. It happens to 45 minutes to 3 hours.

I've updated all drivers and downloaded and installed Service pack 1.

After BSOD pc restarts and this message comes up:

Just put together a new system as per the following:
Mother board: Intel DX48BT2
CPU: Intel Q9550 core 2 quad processor
Video: GeForce GTX285
Sound blaster X-Fi
Corsair TX750w
WD 500 gb SATA HDD

Lenovo DVD super multi burner

Fired it up and started instaling windows XP OEM version from my old computer with SP1 included (circa 2005). Get to 35 minutes left of installation and the blue screen pops up with the IRQL not less or equal.
Where should I start?

I've been having many BSOD's
they just come up randomly with a "IRQL Not Less or Equal"
this pc is relatively new (not even 1 year old) and the OS was reinstalled 4 days ago but i keep getting the bsod's.
I have the original windows 7 x64.
I attached the required zip file.

Answer:BSOD "IRQL Not less or equal"

It's pointing to memory corruption as the source of the cause.
The most obvious (though not most common) cause of this is memory that has actually gone bad, it's easy enough to test it just takes some time (best to run it overnight for 5 to 7 passes) In this instance since the problem persist after a clean install it's possible this is the case.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Any number of errors from that test would indicate the physical memory needs to be replaced.
Or even that the motherboard memory controller itself has possibly gone bad.

Code:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.

Just got a new Acer Aspire 5750G laptop less than 2 weeks ago and I'm getting a blue screen crash with this error message for seemingly no reason. I'll just be sitting there playing WoW and doing a BG or something and it'll just crash all of a sudden. It's happened like 4 times already since I got the computer and it just happened about 20 minutes ago.

I started thinking it was a driver issue so I tried updating my drivers but they're all up to date since it's a new computer. I contacted Acer customer support through their live chat thing but they just told me to reinstall windows 7. Does anyone know anything about this?

Answer:"Driver IRQL not less or equal..."

Welcome aboard. Ya, reset it, check your RAM with memtest86+, you'll have to burn it to CD as it's an ISO, change your BIOS to boot from CD first and let it run overnight. If you even have one error showing on the second pane then your RAM is bad and should be returned for repair. I'd also run Start/
Code:
chkdisk /f
, it may take some time.

This probably won't resolve your issue but can at least give you proof for them to take it back and fix or replace at their cost. Most likely their response to reset is the first response they usually give on their 'repair script' that they've been trained to give for most problems.

My attempts to fix it:
1) Ok I have run memtest on both my rams separately and they are fine.

2) I then did a complete re-installment of windows and then used Drivesweeper to delete drivers left over. Installed drivers from website rather than the CD's for current drivers and problem still occurs.

3) thinking of returning my motherboard for replacement seeing how i still have 1 year warranty.

Here is my memdump files by dates. Would really like to figure this out before haveing to send in for a replacement. I don't want to be out of a computer if its not neccessary Thank you.

BSOD; After several months of trying and buying, I am totally frustrated with a desktop that was once a real workhorse. Started with BSOD, figured out codes and started asking questions about corrections and repair methods. New MOBO, New optical drive, and hard drive. Everything else check good and am trying to install fresh copy of "Windows XP". Everything goes as expected until Windows installation tries to open and it automatically goes to BSOD. I've seen a ton of ways to make repairs, but none that mentions how to get windows open to find the files shown in the repair videos. Go to this file and that file but I can't get to "Windows" to get to those files. I can't be the only person who has run into this problem but I'm feeling really lonely right now. Can anyone help? I keep getting "IRQL Not Less Or Equal". Any other questions will be gladly answered. Thanks

Edit: Now that i've manged to log into my computer under Safe Mode + Networking, I noticed that I posted this in the wrong section of the forum. If a moderator could move this to the BSoD section of the forum, I would be very thankful. Sorry once again.

hey guys I'm using a phone voice recorder so the text may not come out as clearly as possible. I've been having a few errors with my Alienware computer and I'm on able to solve the problem on my own. I started writing down a chart of series of events of which my computer goes in which includes various blue screens of death.

One of the blue screens of death I get is system_service_exception, as well as a uncorrectable hardware error which dumps my memory and forces me to restart.

I am able to go into safe mode without any issues but if I attempt to reinstall my windows I will get a black screen with only a visible cursor after restart. I am starting to believe that I may have got a virus that causes my computer to just explode. I have a Windows installation disc as well as a resource disk so I'm able to reinstall if necessary the only issue that I have is that I'm unable to get to the menu which allows me to do so, I have my bios launch sequence set for the hard drive first, but I can change it for the CD / DVD if necessary.

the most bizarre thing about this all is that on a normal start I'm able to get to my desktop with no problems, it is only about 5 or 6 minutes until I get a blue screen that says system_service_except... Read more

Hi to all of you!
Well I tried to upgrade my Core 2 Duo PC because it was getting unused and also the Old Video Card it had expired so I researched of what compatible components I could adquire and I got a new grapics Card (Geforce GT 610 2Gb) and I added a new 2gb 800mhz RAM to my pc which has a DP35DP motheboard with a Core 2 Duo CPU.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32 to test the new Hardware, at the start it was doing fine, but lately it crashes randomly; most of the time when I:
Use several applications (Web Browser, any game and Windows Explorer)
Let it idle for some time
Play Dota2 or some other Steam game
Most of the time I get:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
I tried windows memcheck and it didn't get any errors, also I tried Driver Verifier and I got 2 drivers conflicting, I thought uninstalling them will try to fix, but not.
I attach all the info the collector has got from my PC.
If there is anything for me to do I would gladly do to help, thank you for your help!

So here's the deal. In April 2011, I decided to treat myself and upgrade my existing gaming computer. Pretty much just a nice overhaul while still staying affordable.

It turned into a nightmare.

For the last nine months I've been battling chronic errors. The errors are as follows:

Most notably, over time Windows will reach a point where if it's turned off for a long period of time, say overnight, when I try and start it in the morning it will blue screen. This problem becomes worse as weeks go on. Actually, recently, even the speed at which it gets worse quickens. I kept the same OS install from like May through August before it got to the point where it almost just wouldn't start up. Conversely, I reinstalled my OS just a week or two ago and it's already at the point. Reinstalling the OS seems to reset it. At it's worst (or the worst I'll let it get), the PC will go through 5-10 Blue Screens when starting up before working. Each time the PC gets further and further along when it blue screens.
Occasionally, after a string of blue screens, Windows will start up not recognizing my graphics driver (this is a recent development). If I then restart the PC yet again, it usually comes up fine with the graphics driver recognized.
Sometimes Windows will just freeze. Usually if I'm doing a lot of stuff at once (yesterday I was downloading, had three or four file windows open and was moving files around). When this happens there's no BSOD, nothing. The comp just freezes. I can't move... Read more

I'm not sure whether I'm posting this in the right forum, so I apologize if I've made a mistake. And I'm not sure whether the reason is because of the Winfast DTV1000 S either, but worth asking.

I have had Windows 7 x64 Home Premium installed for around a week now and have already experienced 3 or 4 bsods during the week. I'm thinking that it is relevant to my tv tuner card or winfast pvr2 software, because prior to the bsod, it is always and only winfast pvr2 that locks up.

The latest bsod gave me: ""IRQL less than or not equal to..." or something like that.

Previously, I had Vista x64 Ultimate for a long time and I never recieved a bsod, apart from 2 random ones when I was doing nothing. Now I get it when I happen to be running winfast pvr2.

Here is the information about the bsod from a report windows 7 gave me:

Have you installed the latest Windows 7 driver and PVR app from the Leadtek website?

They have a 7 only driver which leads me to think there is something special about it that may not be in the Vista driver.

I have Windows XP Home with Outloook Express (OE)

For some unknown reason, intermittantly, my previous OE "sent items" change a block of emails to the date of the next month, that is, a block of emails that were 1/Nov/2010, 2/Nov/2010, etc., become 1/Dec/2010,2/Dec/2010, etc., and this causes current sent emails to seemingly dissapear, until you realise they are bundled back behind the date of the incorrect next month that has been incorrectly generated on previous emails.

Has anyone come across this peculiar anomally, found what causes it and how to fix it?

PS I just noticed the same thing is happening in my OE "Drafts" section - I have a block of November drafts that have been "post dated" to next month (Dec)

In the past week I've had 11 BSODs with the message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. After some google-fu I updated all my drivers to the latest from their respective manufacturer but still had problems.
I formatted my OS harddrive and didn't install any drivers but still got several bluescreens so I updated them all again but still the problem persists.
I'm going to run my RAM through a few hours of Memtest to check if its not that causing the problem but in the meantime I've uploaded my windows\minidump to see if anyone could diagnose the problem in the meantime.

Answer:Plenty of BSODs, driver irql not less or equal.

Just got another one, though this referred to executable memory trying to access non-executable memory which leads to be believe there might be RAM involved too. Didn't add an entry to \minidump though but this was the Event Viewer details:

Well I had a power supply failure, and multiple parts in my computer have failed. I'm using my original hard drive and video card, but that's really about it. I replaced everything else. My computer is working again.....except daily I am having random bsods. Usually PFN List Corrupt, and IRQL not less or equal. Here is the error report on my last bsod. I suspect bad drivers, but can't nail down which one. I am suspecting my video card and hard drive as well at this point, but I reformatted the hard drive and am still getting bsods. I have tried 3 different ram pairs. Can anybody glean any information from the dump file? Any help is appreciated.

Hi All! In the past 4 days I have been experiencing some BSOD. So far my computer has BSOD five times. However, only once has bluescreenview presented a name for the bsod which was the driver irql not less or equal.

Computer Parts:

Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming
Processor: i5-3570k @ 3.40 GHz ivy bridge
RAM: G.SKILL F3-12800 CL9-4GBRL 4GB DIMM DDR3
Monitor: ACI V#248
Graphics: GeForce GTX 560 (currently running onboard graphics due to getting dvi no signal when connected to gpu.
Storage: 1TB sata600
Network Adpater: Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
The motherboard and cpu are fairly new, around 4 months old? Rest of the parts are three years old.
I do take care of the computer very well.

I will also attach dump files.

Also if any other questions comment!! Thank you

Hi,

After every few random days I am getting BSOD with the title mentioning "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. FYI, This is a completely new built and only 2 months in use. Currently not using for gaming so no graphics card in it. Using Windows 10.

My initial findings of the dump files is that mostly are related to HDAudBus.SYS error and 2 dumps are of Netio.SYS error.
I have attached the required logs ZIP FILE for your through review.

Really appreciate your help.

I have been getting these "Bad Pool Header" and "System Service Exception" BSODs for about a day now (the "Bad Pool Header" one tends to pop up more often then the other btw). I ran a registry cleaner which didn't work and ran memtest this morning and it showed that my memory was fine. The BSODs tend to occur more often when I am playing a game or running some program that uses a bit more memory but it also happens when I am just on the internet. On the other hand, last night I did nothing but surf YouTube for 3 hours and didn't get a BSOD at all. However, since then I haven't been able to do anything for more than 10 minutes (without being in safe mode) without it crashing, and this morning it completely froze until I turned it off. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. It came preinstalled from the manufacturer and unfortunately I do not have the install disc. The entire laptop is less than 2 years old and there have been no major hardware changes and I have never reinstalled the OS.

Answer:Random "Bad Pool Header" and "System Service Exception" BSODs

UPDATE: Another BSOD just happened after I left the computer idle for a couple of hours except this one said something about Asdsm.sys.

For only the past month, I've been having BSODs on my 5 month old self assembled computer. All of which occur during gaming. For the first two BSODs, I thought it was due to my undervolting of the CPU (which had been stable for months), so I reset that to factory settings. Unfortunately, I'm hit with a brand new error this last time (dxgmms1.sys as opposed to whea_uncorrectable_error). I'm at a loss as to what may be the cause and have no experience evaluating dmp files, so I figure the bright people of this forum can lend a brain.

Answer:BSODs the past month

Hi Tonney & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)
An exception happened while executing a system service routine.

Answer:Very Frequent BSODs and driver IRQL not less or equal errors

Hello,

It seems PC Tools is the cause of these BSODs. Uninstall the program, and use Microsoft Security Essentials as your anti-virus program.

Also install this updated Intel ethernet driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=3245&lang=eng

For the past month or so, my computer has been getting frequent Blue Screens, the most common error is IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL. I also have random black screens that shut down my computer while playing games (mainly Minecraft, to be specific) and while watching YouTube videos. There have also been some problems with my internet browser. When I click the icon on the taskbar, it will load and then automatically crash my computer. I have tried Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. I have also had startup repairs but they dont really seem to be doing anything to fix the problem. My computer is about a year and a half old (a HP laptop), and I have made sure all my drivers are up to date. I have tried several different methods, but the problem persists. I have noticed that the bottom of my computer generates much more heat then my old computer that I still have. Is this an overheating problem? Do I need to replace any parts or hardware? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Probably.

Heat:
- only use the laptop on a hard surface - with nothing blocking any of the vents.
- use a laptop cooling pad if possible
- blow out all vents with canned air (DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner or an air compressor, they can damage the components).
- ensure that the fan comes on and is blowing air out of the vent (may not happen at startup, but should happen after using it for a while).

For monitoring heat of the system, use Speccy or HWMonitor:Speccy System Information

Hello,

First of all, thanks for this space and for the help.

I am experiencing two kinds of BSODs on my Win7 64. They are System Service Exception and Memory Management. Also I am getting complete freezes, of the kind where keyboard stop working, mouse too, everything, and you have to turn of CPU to restart.

These problems occur mostly when using Google Chrome (Youtube often) and playing games, such as Need Ford Speed Carbon, Sid Meiers Railroads, Grid, Left 4 Dead and others. Also when streaming music.

This machine of mine is brand new, has around 3 months of use, and has been assembled from several parts bought separatedly. The freezes and BSODs happen since the purchase and installation of Chrome and games.

I never installed other operating systems on this PC, Windows 7 64 bits is the first. It is a top class machine, with grade 7,2 on most items, except disks.

OS - Windows 7
? x64
? What was original installed OS on system? This one
? OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version? Full retail
? Age of system 3 months
? Age of OS installation 3 months also
? CPU - Athlon II X4 620
? Video Card - ATI Radeon HD 5750
? MotherBoard - Ecs Black Series A790gxm-Ad3 Am3 Ddr3 790GX /SB75
? Power Supply - brand & wattage - OCZ 500SXS, 500 watts
? Memory - 4GB DDR3 Corsair
? Disks - WDC WD5000AACS 500 GB and MAXTOR STM3160211AS 160 GB

The required ZIP files are attached. Thanks.

Answer:BSODs "SystemServiceException" and "MemoryManagement", also total freezes in Win7 64

Hi -

As you know, the files are in Portuguese, but the dumps are in the universal language of hexadecimal and I did find a few things which may help.

The bugchecks on the 8 mini kernel memory dump files -

(4) 0x3b (0xc0000005,,,) = system service exception, 0xc0000005 = memory access violation

(4) 0x1a (0x41790,,,) = memory management error

Both could be caused by rogue 3rd party drivers. Daemon Tool/ Alcohol/ other CD emulation software is undoubted involved and needs to be removed.

Update the first two drivers. Remove Daemon/ Alcohol and the burning app containing the pcouffin.sys driver -

Code:

netr7364.sys Thu Mar 12 23:13:08 2009 (49B9CF44) - RT73 USB Wireless LAN Card

RTKVHD64.sys Fri May 22 14:04:20 2009 (4A16E924) - Realtek HD audio

sptd.sys Sun Oct 11 16:55:14 2009 (4AD24632) - CD emulation

a0omnhk0.SYS Fri Aug 07 09:30:20 2009 (4A7C2C6C) - unknown; dynamically allocated by CD emulation software

pcouffin.sys Tue Dec 05 09:39:30 2006 (457584A2) - CD/ DVD burning driver
Your wifi is probably either Linksys or Ralink. Try both sites.
Linksys --> http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support
Ralink --> http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php

Realtek --> http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/

Remove Daemon/Alcohol, update the wifi driver and the Realtek audio driver and see if BSODs persist.

Hi, for the past month or so, I've been dealing with random BSODs on my windows 7 laptop (Sager NP4658), can someone tell me what's causing them?  I've attached the dump files from the last month to this post.

I've already done a chkdsk which found no corruptions, SFC 'did not find any integrity violations', and verifier.exe (only tested all non-microsoft drivers) found no problems.

Answer:Frequent BSODs for the past month

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/ Out of 7 memory dumps there were 6 different BSOD error codes.  The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things (the list is not in any sort of order):- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.- dirt/dust/hair/fur/crud inside the case.  Blow out the case/vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or vacuum as they can cause damage to the system)- missing Windows Updates- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems- low-level driver problems- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from http://www.carrona.org/initdiag.html or http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html ).Please get a head start on the hardware diagnostics - they are located here:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.htmlDaemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have ... Hey, I've been getting random blue screens all over the time lately. I honestly don't know what the problem is. This PC just works whenever it wants to. I've tried updating the drivers, but that doesn't seem to be working. I ran Memtest, and it said my memory's fine. I don't know what else to do. The OS is Windows Vista, and it was pre installed when I got the computer. It's a Compaq Presario SR5333WM, and is over 5 years old. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi everybody,

For the past 1 month I've been getting Irql not less or equal and Page fault in non paged area BSODs every day several times and I have read so many posts for troubleshooting these errors and tried so many of them, from a clean windows 7 install to updating drivers, using driver sweeper and then updating again and what not..

But I just dotn seem to understand whats wrong. Tried understanding the minidumps using bluescreen view and I all could gather was some issue with ntoskernel.exe

I'm attaching my minidumps, can someone please tell me whats wrong - is it my laptop getting too hot or some driver etc?

Extra Info: The laptop is HP dv-7 running Win7-x64 and does seem to get pretty hot, especially when I'm playing Counter Strik 1.6 on Steam and crashes are much more frequent when I'm playing Steam CS 1.6

Thanks and Regards

Hi,
Over the last couple of months I have been getting BSODs of a variety of types. The last two I recorded were IRQL not less or equal (when disconnecting the external monitor) and Page fault in nonpaged area (when connecting the monitor). I am not sure whether connecting/disconnecting the monitor is relevant, as previous times I got BSODs without that (e.g. system service exception). A number of the times were when I restarted the computer. I am attaching shots I took of the screen on my iphone. Apologies for the quality.
Similarly, I did not understand from the instructions how to "save the information into a debug-YourComputerName-xxxx.zip file on your desktop". I hope have attached the right thing.
Thanks for you help!

I have been plagued for years by this bug (see attached Mad_Explorer_col.JPG screen dump), and this morning after visiting Tech Support Guy > Windows XP then searching for "Windows Explorer", on page 2 in "Solved: Explorer tree display curiosity, AKA Odd Windows Explorer Bug", page 2, I found the cause and solution brought by Mosaic1 Wed 07 Mar 2007 05:48 GMT:
Do you have the desktop toolbar on the taskbar?and mrwes Tue 07 Aug 2007 18:34 GMT:
You can get around this by making the toolbar point to the Desktop but using c:\Documents and Settings > (Profile name) > Desktop. You don't see the My Computer and IE icons in the list, but everything else shows up...Thanks a lot to Mosaic1 and mrwes!

Yeah... as the above mentions... There are also other processes running multiple items and some that I have never had running before. Malwarebytes has picked up 2 Trojans so far "Trojan.proxy.Bunitu" but hasn't finished the scan yet for me to do anything.

FRST finished the scan so I figured I'd go ahead and upload.

EDIT: As of now I also received a notification that if I don't pay $600 all my files will become encrypted. >.<

Hello,

Well this one is interesting - there are two main syptoms I noticed which made me think I have a problem. Ironically, I hadn't used the computer in about 2 weeks, and noticed these issues immediately.

1) Vipre identified a "Desktop.ini" Trojan, and asked me to reboot. Yet when i reboot, the problem was not fixed - instead, the message just keeps poping back up.

2) I figured i'd try to update Windows, yet the update functionality is not working - it asks me to reboot, yet rebooting does not allow me to update windows.

3) I use "Postgres" Database for one games i play online (online poker). Yet, this service will not run.

Other than the 3 symptoms above, there is nothing else (i.e// browser redirects) which are affecting my computer.

I'm posting the required documents below, and appreciate all the help. Thanks so much.

I also, as stated in the guide, do not believe i have access to my old boot/windows CD (really don't know where these are - but could potentially dig up if required). I am on a dell computer.

Also when running GMER - i kept getting problems regarding "not found hard disks/drives" - so i ran simply with "Sections and C:\" selected as per guide.

My main desktop PC. Custom built. Windows 10 PRO version 1703 (OS Build 15063.674). 8GB RAM. Multiple hard drives with the Windows drive being a 240GB TEAM L3 SSD. Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 - No overclocking. Motherboard = EP45-UD3P. I know that I have loads of software but I cannot pinpoint exactly when the problem started. It seems to me to have started after the most recent Windows 10 update. No new hardware and no recently removed hardware. I have other PC's with exactly the same Build and they all have zero problems with file operations. On this PC, I have a major problem (my opinion) with BSOD's. The "same" BSOD always occurs when I am performing a file or folder operation (delete or copy or move) with windows 10 explorer.exe. After the system began the BSOD's, I downloaded and installed XYplorer PRO v14.50 and made it the default file manager. This has helped alleviate the problem but of course has not fixed the problem. I know almost nothing about diagnosing .dmp files. I play no online games and I play no installed games other than Solitaire and Hearts.

In Windows XP, fully updated, I have several folders full of mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

But all the figures in the "Duration" column appear to be in "hours" and "minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03", but what I want is "minutes" and "seconds".

Any thoughts as to how to change this?

Hey there,

I've been having some interesting issues with my computer. I'm thinking the RAM might be relevant -> from time to time the computer won't start and will go to a black screen. It will always start with only one stick of RAM in, but I need to fiddle with the second stick for a few minutes until it starts with both.

I've been getting multiple BSOD, from BAD_POOL_CALLERto KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLEDI've posted the zip below, please let me know if you need anymore information -> SFdebugFiles.zip

Thank you very much!
Josh

EDIT: only running 1 of the sticks of RAM and haven't gotten a BSOD yet - what might be the problem with 2 that's messing with the computer?

Answer:Multiple BSOD in past month-while browsing and LoL(moba)

Test the stick that's causing it. It might be bad. Insert only that stick and run Memtest86+ and leave it running until you get errors or for eight passes.

I am running Windows XP SP3, fully updated, on an Acer lap top PC.

I have several folders full of .mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. To do this I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

The two new columns appear, but the format of the "Duration" column appears to be "hours:minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03" for most .mp3's, when what I want to see is 'hours:minutes:seconds", e.g. "00:03:45".

This also happens for video files (.avi files), e.g. all my episodes of "Heroes" (sad, I know) have a duration of "00:42" instead of "00:42:xx".

Here are two pictures showing the problem with the .mp3's. The first is of Explorer showing the Duration as "Hours:Minutes":

The second picture is of the properties window of the first .mp3 in the list above:

I copied some .mp3 files to another (old) PC on my home network, and it displayed the duration field correctly:

Also, the properties window correctly shows the duration also:

I'm not the only person to have this problem. I received a private message from a member of another forum where I posted about this problem several weeks ago. That person also has the same problem with the duration field.

The tech guys on that forum were unable to find the source... Read more

Hey everyone,

I have had my custom pc for almost one month now, and I have found out that during this one month period, my graphic card DRIVER has actually "uninstalled itself" twice. I have no idea why, but whenever this happens - it's almost like the graphic card works fine untill you shut down the computer, then the next time you restart your computer, the graphics mess up. Btw I have a Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT.

Whenever the graphic card messes up, the little nvidia icon in the bottom right corner disappears, and I CANNOT change my graphics.. it always just resets back to 640 x 820 or w/e it was with 8 bits of graphic. No matter how much I try i cannot change it and the only solution is to re install the graphic card driver.

The first time, I just re-installed the driver no problem, but now this time two messages appear at regular intervals saying..

Ainap
Access violation at address 00000007. Read address 00000007.

AND

Ainap
EAccess violation

I do not want this to happen twice every month.. and I would really appreciate it if anyone would help me.
PS MY MSN MESSENGER STOPPED WORKING and it was working 3 hours ago.

I need a formula or VBA for the following condition.

I have a varying numbers of people enrolling in a program beginning with none in the first month. This enrollment will be the result of monthly mailed circulars and the response will vary monthly, depending on the number of circulars mailed and estimated % respondents.

To run this project, there is a fixed monthly cost plus an initial setup charge. The total cost right up front. (Fixed Cost)

Number of enrollees per month (Variable) * The monthly fee for each the participants at $40 per month. (Fixed) = Income per month (Variable)

Using "0" enrollees (Income) in the first month, what month will see a break even?
(The monthly fee is cumulative, of course)

I have tried several "break even analysis" scenarios but haven't been able to trap and print the break even month as it will be a variable.

Hope this isn't too confusing.

Thanks!!

Hello,

So, I am have been having multiple BSODs from day 0 with my new PC build. I will try to be as thorough as I can to help you help me. I have been lurking and troubleshooting since early February, when my build began. I have clean installed (formatted primary drive every time, formatted secondary drives once) Windows about 3 times now chasing BSODs. I am at my wits end and am calling in for backup (I prefer to figure things out on my own since I then learn from it). My PC serves two roles, Gaming and Virtualization. Ideally, I would be dual booting Windows 10 for light gaming with my son and Debian for work/programming/virtualization.

So this issue started about 3-4 days ago, but I have had problems prior to that, just with much less frequency.

To begin with, here's the parts list for my computer:

Intel Core i7-3770K, Asus GeForce GTX 780, Corsair 500R White - Home build updated - sarevok9's Saved Part List - PCPartPicker

I have tried running a diagnostic (windows and memtest86) on the ram, and it has checked out okay. I have swapped my GFX card to an older, always-working R9-270x. The problem has persisted through these changes as well as a reformat / refresh. It seems like each time I get a blue screen it's a different error. One time if will be PFN list, the next IRQ Not Less or Equal to. This time it was a System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled. Pre-formatting I also had a lot of "Memory Management" bsod's as well. The seeming root cause always points to ntoskrnl.exe in my blue screen logs.

Attached below are the logs.

I'm going to take an educated guess and assume that these issues stem from my just-barely-out-of-warranty-motherboard.

Answer:BSODs at random(multiple). New (month old) hardware.

I built this computer about a year ago, and I've had BSODs every one or two weeks for just as long. The problem is that I've never been able to tie them to one program, one driver, or one piece of hardware. All of the diagnostics and general health checks I've run on the system and its hardware come out clean.

Usually the BSODs are far enough apart that I forget about them until the next one comes up, but I've had three or four in the last week alone. Virus scanner shows nothing, and the dump reports through BlueScreenView remain unhelpful because all of the drivers involved seem to be essential system drivers and processes. There's got to be something behind all this, but I can't figure out what. Any suggestions?

So, my computer has been working fine until yesterday. I plugged in my iPod, and a few seconds later my computer seemed to power down into stand by mode. (Whether my iPod had anything to do with this I'm not sure)

I unplugged all my peripherals and rebooted. XP gets to the login screen but then just goes into stand by mode and my monitor says its going into "power save."

I can however boot into safe mode just fine. Although when I boot into VGA mode I get a blue screen with the error "IRQL not less or equal."

I've searched for some info online and it seems to probably be a hardware problem, either with the motherboard, graphics card, or power supply I'm guessing. I re-inserted the graphics card and RAM for good measure, uninstalled graphics driver, and cleaned out any dust in my case, but no avail.

I'd like to try and pin point the problem some how so I can get a better idea of what's wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey, I posted this on a very old thread with the same BSOD but after a few days I didn't get anything so thought maybe I'd better post my own thread.

If that was the wrong assumption, my apologies.

I've attached my files below, lemme know if I'm missing anything. I've also enabled drive verifiers.

Edit.

I've had verifiers on for two days, as of posting this. So far no BSODs.

I have been having this problem, for a month now,
My problem-
Everytime I try to log onto Playonline (To play FFXI) Or Everquest, or my Yahoo.com email or my Comcast.com email I have to log in more than once!, I have to try 2-5 times before it works!, also, most web pages I try to view wont work, they will require to be refreshed, THEN they will work (You know the "Page cannot be displayed!" And at bottom of screen it says "Cannot find server or DNS Error." I am dying to get this fixed!, It's driving me crazy!, if you know a solution please help

Also this happens with alot of the web pages I type in (I usually visit webpages through Favorites because of this)
I get something liek this as the webpage that comes up:

It all started one day when I came home from school, powered up computer, and internet wasn't working correctly, I then unplugged modem and Router, plugged them back in, and it was working again, but all messed up as it is now

I have tried all of the following
----
Disk Defragment
Delete Cookies
Clear History
Disk Cleanup
Virus Scan (2 virus scanners)
Spy Ware Scan (2 spy ware scanners)
Delete Internet Files
Un/Replugged Router
Un/Replugged Modem

Over the past couple of months I have been getting blue screens a few times a week. Attached I have a screenshot from bluescreenview as well as details on each of the minidumps. Any suggestions on what could be causing the varying BSODs? Is it likely a hardware or software issue? Things I have already tried:

1. Clean windows install
2. New Antivirus Program
3. New Ram / Adjusting Ram speed, voltage, timings
4. New hard drive
5. Updating all system drivers / video card drivers

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

First post here, apologies if I get something wrong.

I couldnt create a BSOD file, so I had to take a photo - hope this is ok. I have also attached a bootlog file.

My computer was working fine and I hadn't even installed anything new when one morning it simply would not boot without BSOD. It will however boot and work using Safemode with Networking, so I figure it has to be a driver issue?

I have gone into startup system/tools and reduced it to the bare minimum but I still get the issue, so then I tried to run the perfom report but it will not let me in safe mode. I have tried to run a repair from Windows 7 bootup cd, but it comes up with nothing, ditto on memory check.

So attached is the BSOD image (again, sorry I couldn't use the program to grab it)

and the bootlog file (not sure how useful this is as was booting using minimum stuff anyway)

I know that my machine isn't technically meant to run Windows 7, but it was designed for Vista and so many of the drivers I was able to use from Vista because W7 supported ones were never released (eg soundcard and video driver iirc)

Hello,

I have been getting blue screens at random intervals for a while with the message "Driver not less or equal." I have been trying to update various drivers but have never been able to pin point the problem.

Answer:Windows 7 - BSoD "Driver not less or equal"

Please set your power settings to max performance as you are have a cpu throttling issue. This will prevent that. You currently have an issue with intelppm.sys. I recommend that you install the latest bios for the machine and/or let Intel's website scan to install any newer drivers it finds.

Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

You have sptd.sys on the machine and this absolutely must be removed as its notorious for causing bsod.

Code:

To do so, uninstall DaemonTools or Alcohol 120. A great replacement is PowerIso.

Finally, your audio driver is asking me to tell you to please update him:

Answer:Blue Screen--message "IRQ not less than or equal"

That message indicates either failing RAM or a failing power supply.
Down load this http://majorgeeks.com/Memtest86_d1247.html (boot floppy)
or this http://majorgeeks.com/Memtest86_d1247.html (ISO which you burn to create a boot CD).
Turn the computer off. Put in either the boot floppy or the boot CD and turn the computer on. Let it run to test your memory. It takes long so plan on doing something else while it is running. If there are any errors, a problem is indicated. If you can run the computer with just a single stick of RAM, do that and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't switch sticks and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, then you might need to replace the power supply.

The following are keys that will get you into the BIOS (I don't know specifically what Toshiba uses)
F1
F2
F10
esc
del
Then the following combos also work when the single keys above fail to work
CTRL + ALT + ESC
CTRL + ALT + INS
CTRL + ALT + Enter
CTRL + ALT + S

Excuse me for the bad thread title, I really couldn't figure out how to describe my problem since i've been getting BSOD's for the past week at least 7-8 times a day at an hour or two hour long intervals.

They can occur at all times, sometimes right after booting up, sometimes while playing a game, sometimes when i'm writing code in an IDE (which is most annoying because I lose all my work). I've been researching about every single BSOD and have tried to do what I can, i've updated my nvidia video card driver, uninstalled it and tried to work only on my intel chipset gpu, i've uninstalled avast as some were having issues with it and switched to AVG, ive installed WhoCrahed to see what caused my crash. I've run chkdsk to see if there were bad sectors in my harddrive and let windows fix it, i've run memtest86+ to see if it caught any errors, none whatsoever. It seems as if every time I try to fix my current issue, a new one arises and it is extremely frustrating and disheartening. I've quite literally spent my weekend at college trying to fix these errors instead of getting any actual work done.

I would really appreciate some help from the experts right about now.

Hi,

Last night had a BSOD on shutdown (don't know the error code), then this morning two more BSODs (one IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the other PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA)

Chrome keeps giving me 'Aw Snap' errors this morning.

No new hardware recently. Nor driver changes. Was custom build before Christmas, no issues up til now.

Dump data attached.

Any help much appreciated!!

Answer:Multiple BSODs (IRQL and Page Fault codes)

IRQ and Pagefile errors to BSOD are in my experience RAM-related. You might have dodgy/overheated memorychips even if they return no errors in individual testing, alternatively you might have different types of ram. This usually requires bios to set different voltages that some (older) motherboards would seem to have issues with, MSI in particular.

Try booting with one memchip only and see if that helps, if not, replace it with the next one and so on... worked for me at least.

Cheers-

Please remove any CD visualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, called sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads DuplexSecure - FAQ

when you're done you can use this Freeware:

MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM (MagicDisc) in its place

Using MagicISO to create ISO image files
2- Old drivers needing updating

We have recently deployed patches from Nov 2016 to May 2017 in out environment.
After these updates, the internet explorer 11 starts working weirdly.
It is intermittently not able to connect to the internet. All the intranet sites are connecting fine.
Has anyone faced similar issue?
A solution would be much appreciated.

This is my first post, so please go easy on me...

I'm not sure what would be the best forum for this, so I am putting it here. If there is a more appropriate forum for this thread, I will move it accordingly.

Ok. so it all started about a month ago. I had had a crappy computer I got with Win XP and stuff, and I was using that for about 3 years. (equals 1000 years in computer years, I know)

Long story short, I decided to build my own new one and save some money, using some of the parts from my old computer.

I am attaching a rundown of all my specs, so I won't get into that here.

Anyway, on the attached specs, it says 4gb of RAM, but I actually have 16. Not sure why it says that...

Speaking of which, I just recently installed the second 8gb a few days ago. (When I first put it together, I only had 8gb)

The first 8gb I used worked wonderfully, so I bought the EXACT same brand, make, speed, etc and put it in to make 16gb. (A-data 4gb X2 1333mhz)

My post is not about this, but I'm just giving a detailed of info as I can.

But, that's when it started acting strange. I was then having problems with my video card. I kept getting BSOD about video adapters. So, I took it out and put it back in (reseating?) and it worked fine. However, now when I play Starcraft 2 it will take me out of the game and give me an error message that says "Out of System".

I have not yet run memtest, but I will after I post this.

I have checked the EventLog and it is full of errors... Read more

Does anyone here know an easy way to get two fields on an Access form to populate with the first day and last day of the previous month by the click of a button?

Here is the best I could come up with, but this seems so sloppy:

(of course, this is on the OnClick event on the button)

Dim TheDate As Date
Dim DaysBack As Integer

TheDate = Date 'uses TheDate so that I can enter any date for testing

DaysBack = (DatePart("d", (Date)))

[End] = (TheDate - DaysBack)

[Start] = (TheDate + 1) - (DaysBack + (DatePart("d", [End])))

Windows 10 is now posted on Dreamspark for students, but there are two versions (see attachment)--an "Education" edition and a "Multiple Editions" version. Does anyone know what the difference is between these?

Answer:"Education" vs. "Multiple Editions"

I would like to know it too!
