I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: BSOD playing World Of Tanks, Technical information ***STOP: 0x0000001E

These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
1-Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Special Pool", "Force Pending I/O Requests" and "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line:

Code:
Delete these registry keys to stop Driver Verifier from loading (works in XP, Vista, Win7):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDrivers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDriverLevel

Hello,

I'd like to ask for your help with BSOD on computer HP620. I usually observe the problems when returning back from playing World of Tanks to the desktop directly or when trying to launch the applications like Internet Explorer.

I collected all the details via DM Log manager and attached the file to this thread.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Best regards,
Rudolf Wolf

Answer:BSOD (0x0000001e) after returning back to desktop from World of Tanks

You have issues with your USB hub. Probably a driver causing issues. Please enable Driver Verifier as it will help us identify the driver responsible (If it is a driver at fault).
Follow these instructions.

Hi everyone

I upgraded my video card last year before Christmas with a GeForce GTX 650, in february i also changed my old hdd and added a 1TB WD Blue.

Problems started like two weeks before Easter in which i received BSOD's almost every day and i didn't knew what was the problem. On 2nd day of Easter my old 500 watt Raidmax PSU "died" while i was playing World of Warcraft, so then i thought the PSU was the problem that made BSOD's appear because it was like 4 years old and the new video card was in need of more power. This month on 4th of july i bought a Corsair CX 600 watt PSU, the computer worked normally until two days ago on 29th, in the morning i pushed the power button but only the fans and the power led were on, nothing on monitor, after on/off the pc a few times and on/off the PSU once it finally started. Today same scenario with power up, then i decied to play some World of Tanks, after first fight...like 5-10mins of playing i got BSOD and restard, tryed again and same think happened, also the computer blocked i think twice and i had to reset it and once i saw in bios at cpu temperature all kind of strange numbers.

This is what i saw in Who Crashed:

So far I have had a total of 5 BSODs since I formatted. I was getting them before too, just to clarify. The BCCodes are 0x00000001, 0x0000007f, 0x000000fc, 0x00000001 and 0x00000050. They were caused by two things, ntoskrnl.exe and nvlddmkm.sys. I have only gotten them when World of Tanks is open, I don't have to be playing it, as long as it is open the game either crashes randomly or I get blue screen'd. I have changed Nvidia drivers about 5 times now, ranging from brand new ones to ones from the beginning of the year. I have reset BIOS to default settings which was something suggested, that did nothing. I have also cleaned my computer which also didn't help. There may have been a few other things I tried that I cannot remember.

Hello,

Probably caused by : Pool_Corruption ( nt!ExDeferredFreePool+100 )

Lets try a RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Probably caused by : dxgmms1.sys ( dxgmms1!VIDMM_GLOBAL::ReferenceAllocationForPreparation+22 )

You can update this via Windows Update, or just uninstall directX and download the latest version here: Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center

Post back with updates.

Hello, mirei.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums !

I did small review of your MiniDump files and problem is making your NVidia Graphic Card driver.

There is a lot of new versions which can fix that BSOD problem.

What you can do :
1. Update your currently Graphic Card drivers.
2. Check your game compatibility with your Graphic Card compatibility.

I will start with only this.
Try this and If you have problem again, we will do some tests.

Answer:BSOD When Playing Game (World Of Tanks)

You are running an ASUS Product ID (PID) on a MSI board.
This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.

Uninstall them with Revo Uninstaller (While uninstalling a program, select the "Advanced" option and Select all and delete any file found)

At least one BSOD has had some sort of hangup with your graphics driver. You have the latest driver so lets try to uninstall it and reinstall just to see if that helps.

Also, check with Razer Synapse, it was the process running when the BSOD occurred.

I would remove this from your PC as I don't believe its necessary. Use Revo as suggested above.

Download the latest driver

Welcome

Is there any particular reason for using windows xp?

The dump relates to your graphics card and its drivers. The issue of turning off and wont turn back on again is a hardware issue, probably a overheated/dying graphic card.

Does your motherboard have a onboard VGA slot? Connect there and see if this issue persists. What's the age of all the hardware?

Try installing latest video card drivers if possible:

Hi been getting frequent random BSODs whilst playing world of tanks. Each time the problems seems to be caused by atikmpag.sys. I have tried uninstalling and installing the most recent drivers but got another BSOD as soon as I tried to play the game again.

Answer:BSOD whilst playing World of Tanks caused by atikmpag.sys

All of the dumps are 0x116 VIDEO_TDR_ERROR (Timeout Detection Recovery) which can be down to the driver, heat, power to the card, the PCI slot it's in or a bad card among other things. Your driver isn't the most recent from what I can see so we'll try that first.

Download the latest driver from here and save it to your desktop. Download DDU and follow Display Driver Uninstaller: How to use to remove all traces of your current driver. Reboot and install the downloaded driver.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine. If you have uploaded DMPs before please only the new ones.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.

Hey guys, I've recently been encountering BSOD while playing graphically intensive games such as World of Tanks in 4k resolution. I thought it might be a temperature issue, so I manually turned up my GPU fan speed to 90% while playing, and my core temp. remained ~50?C. That didnt seem to fix the issue.

Answer:BSOD playing games in 4k resolution such as World of Tanks 0x00000124

It seems to be overclocked.

Code:
CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz"
MaxSpeed: 4000
CurrentSpeed: 4080
And overclocking is one of the most frequent reasons of a stop 0x124 (though not the only reason).

As you are experiencing BSODs, As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings. Then see if it still causing the same BSOD or not. If the BSOD continues to occur, let us know. We will take further attempts to troubleshoot the issue.

I zipped up the dump files I found in this Minidump folder, I'm assuming it would be of some use.

Some other info:

Code:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 040413-13104-01.
I was just playing and screen blue background with white text.

I really appreciate the help, I've had this issue for awhile, but never knew where I could get help. Luckily I finally decided to google and found this awesome site that has helped many others who experienced BOSD.

Welcome

Both your dumps point toward hardware BUT

STOP 0x0000001E: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSOD Index
Usual causes: Device driver, hardware, System service, compatibility, Remote control programs, memory, BIOS

STOP 0x0000001A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD Index
Usual causes: Device driver, memory, kernel

Lets enable driver verifier to rule out buggy drivers
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Information
Driver Verifier runs in the background, "testing" drivers for bugs. If it finds one, a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will result; the corresponding dump file will hopefully show the faulty driver.

Playing world of tanks I had a BSOD that said "Bad Pool Header" then of course a bunch of stuff that means nothing to me... I have downloaded the SF Diag tool and will attack the zip with my dumps/diag info here...

As a Side note... the BSOD does the memory dump then supposedly "restarts" the computer but mine just sits there on a black screen until I manually hold the power button down to turn it off then turn it back on....

Hey
So I just played world of tanks.
I load in and the game starts, i move around for about for a minute as usual, suddenly sound to my USB Headphones is cut and my monitor says "No connection found, entering sleep mode". THen i tought what the hell and restarted my monitor (didn't notice the absense of sound yet) Still the same. I waited for a little bit, then looked at the lights on my PC, none of them were showing a sign of life. (Power & HDD Activity lights) altrought my fans were still spinning. Then I restarted my PC by holding the power button down and booted into windows right away, no error logs or anything that i can see. No BSOD. Just like a death.
I suspect motherboard/PSU error, what do you think?

Yeah, that sounds like PSU failing... I would swap in a better quality PSU, ASAP.
I guess I'd a little bit higher on the watts too, 550/600w one.

Visit jonnyguru.com for some good info and reviews of PSUs so you have a reasonable idea what to buy.

If it was motherboard it wouldn't have rebooted .

My last major failure: My last motherboard broke in the middle of playing a stressful MMO, on release day of Rift, and I was playing a different MMO during Rift update, LOL! [my bad luck]

Initially thought it was PSU, but it was the motherboard, was 7 hrs later when I was finally back up running, I had bought all the parts at a local Fry's, but was 2 round trips to get the right diagnosis/parts complete.

Hey everyone!

For the past few weeks that I've been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, I've been getting BSOD's every time I play. I've noticed that it only happens when I'm playing SWToR. I tried to fix the error by reformatting my computer, which didn't help. I've run memtests, switching the RAM cards around, etc., again to no avail. Any information you guys could give me would be great, I'm really getting to my wits end here.

Thank you!

Hello, long time reader, first time poster here.

I have a nicely working midi tower system which handles most of my home computing: games, video, music, development, emails, etc. It performs fine with most games including Shogun Total War, Blood Bowl. It rarely crashes.

Recently I started playing World of Tanks version 0.6.7 and the system dies via BSOD. Some nights I have none. Some nights I cannot escape them.

I've attached the DMP, system info, and perfmon files. Please let me know if I can perform any other diags. I appreciate all the help and information here!

TERMINAL_SERVER_DRIVER_MADE_INCORRECT_MEMORY_REFERENCE (cf)
Usually caused by driver.

The First minidump indicates csrss.exe, possible malware hiding place.

Scan using malwarebytes:
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Also ensure you are using Microsoft Security Essentials. If not, then uninstall other antivirus and install MSE:

Last minidump:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

Your last minidump is indicating "dxgmms1.sys", which is a Direct X file. you should update your video drivers from the Nvidia site.

Also, make sure to remove old drivers using driver sweeper. Follow all instructions, then install the most recent drivers, nonbeta. I usually download(dont install) the drivers first so they are already there to just install after everything is cleaned by sweeper.
Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling

You should also enable driver verifier to get some more minidump files to analyze and run memtest86+, as bad ram causes a lot of problems.

Follow all instructions carefully, and make sure you run memtest for atleast 7 full passes.

I've been having an issue with blue screens my computer. It has occurred during action- and sound-heavy moments in World of Tanks and Skyrim; there's a freeze, a single tone issues from the speakers, and then the screen displays lines of color before finally bringing up the blue screen.

I had an issue with this previously, contacted my manufacturer, and sent in the computer for a full check diagnostic. They ultimately determined it was an issue with the hard drive and sent me back the computer with that replaced. However, now the blue screens have happened again.

I guess I probably should've posted here from the start.

Welcome to SevenForums.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Quote:
The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.*If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.*If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.

Good morning all.

I recently reinstalled World of Tanks on a new laptop i bought, and have noticed one particularly annoying fault in this game.

When the countdown to match start is underway, i can see all the tanks no problem. However, once the match begins and the tanks begin moving, they dissapear! I can still see the shadows underneath the tanks, and when i mouse over where they should be, their outline appears. But for the rest its like invisible tanks.

Does anybody know what may be causing this graphics fault?

The specs for my system are:

windows 7 64bit premium
8gb ram @ 1333mhtz 2x4gb sticks
core i7 @ 2.00ghtz turboboost to 2.90ghtz
Nvidea GT555m with 3gb vRAM
500gb harddrive @ 7200rpm

When i run the game, i run it at 1600x900, and all settings to max. Framerate is good, so i don't think i'm hitting a performance cap.

As far as i know i have directx 11 installed.

I would love to know how to fix this and i greatly appreciate any and all help!

Its my favourite game, please help!

I started playing "World of Tanks" a few months ago and I'm hooked! It's just the right combination of simulation, RPG and FPS for me. No blood and gore, just fun! My son likes it, too, although the gameplay is slower than he's used to. I'm a beta tester for "World of Warplanes", but the controls are a little too difficult for me to master, not that I've mastered World of Tanks... I saw the trailer for "World of Warships" and I'm really looking forward to that one as I spent 9 years in the US Navy. Anyone else here play these games?

My neighbor got me started on World of Tanks a few months ago and I'm up to 1400 battles so far. It's very addicting and is just the right combination of FPS (no blood or gore), role playing and simulation. The game pace is perfect for me and I'm really enjoying it.

You don't have to have the latest hardware to run the game, but I thought the GTX-650 was fine until I got my new GTX-660 and the difference is simply amazing!

Hi,

I've got a massive problem with my laptop Toshiba Satelite L-300. Everytime I load it up I get a blue screen and the 'technical information' STOP:0x00008086.

I have seen answers to this where it is suggested you go into safe mode and then follow various steps from there, however when I press F8 I get a loud beeping noise and the computer carries on loading before coming up with the same blue screen.

I am able to get into setup utility (F2) and Boot Manager (F12) but thats all.
What ever I do it turns to Blue Screen with the same information.
Tried to reinstall from the recovery CD with no success.

Help would be massively appreciated.

Hi

In such case it sounds like hardware problem.
BSOD might be a product of memory problems. Try to remove one memory modules and test the notebook using one module in each slot. Test both modules.

But this could be one of possible malfunction?

Hello, firstly I am sorry if this ends up being a similar situation to something solved previously.

Yesterday, I turned on my computer to check emails and it blue screened on me. After it auto-restarted, I attempted to resume, and it did the same thing. I decided to check the dump file since I had downloaded Blue Screen View after a previous blue screen event, and it did it again. After (I believe) five blue screens after running windows seemingly successfully, it wouldn't even finish loading windows.

Running windows normally - blue screen
Running startup repair - blue screen
Trying to run the windows installer from my setup disk - blue screen

I can get it to run in safe mode, and checking the dumps shows that the Windows NT Kernal is throwing up a red flag (ntoskrnl.exe).

I have run MemTest x86 and after 4 passes, it returns 0 errors.
Attempting to run a repairing check disk forces me to schedule it to run at startup, and the computer blue screens before it can actually run.

I am at a loss as to what to do to correct the issue.

Answer:Always BSOD on startup, various technical information messages

New development:

I Removed the battery and left the computer unplugged overnight. When I replaced these this morning, I started up normally and seems to be stable so far. However, I don't know if this is permanent or just a random fluke. If someone could review the information the SF Diagnostic Tool gathered and provide some feedback on this, I'd appreciate it.

Answer:World of Tanks

Hi Nementh

As for the inversion controls, for some reason on the last patch they took away the ability to invert, you may have luck in editing the XML files, but it might just be a matter of changing the invert of the axis from 1 to 0 or 0 to 1 and you might not need to edit the whole section of the XML.

Well the first unexpected error to occur was that a RunDLL message came up every time I logged on showing 'Error loading C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\uivethmx.dll' Been happening for about 3 weeks now.
About a week ago, the mouse was pulled out of the computer (with a bit of force) and then once I put it back in, the computer would freeze as soon as the acer screen appeared so one by one I took all the plugs etc. of the back of the computer and found that without the mouse in my computer carried on working fine like normal, and also (using the keyboard) I checked the mouse via control panel and there was no software/hardware? (I'm not good with the technicalities of a computer at all) and so basically there was no mouse hardware installed or something like that, but I went and bought a mouse and everything was fine, however I still kept getting the RunDll messages.

Then a like a 3 days after that was the first time I saw the BSOD and after restarting it never came again until two days ago and then it became frequent; every time I logged on after about 10 minutes or so. So I began to google this and I found that it was the BSOD that I was dealing with and I found out how to stop the the comp from restarting so that I could read the BSOD. Done that. Good Morning!

Having some trouble with a laptop given to me by a friend. Attached are the documents requested by the pinned thread.

The system is a Dell Inspiron N7110.
Also attached is a system configuration from the manufacturer. Not sure if that helps at all.
Currently, my troubleshooting options have been as such: Attempted start-up repair. Start-up repair did not resolve the issue. Did a full hardware diagnostics check. All components are good with minor battery issues due to normal aging and wear. After booting to safe-mode, Installed Malwarebytes. Blue-screen upon end of installation. Rebooted, and uninstalled/reinstalled malwarebytes. Unable to fully scan system without a blue-screen.

Any recommendations?

If you have any assistance to offer, I would appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't have much to give in return at the moment other than kind words. :/

Answer:BSOD - STOP: 0x0000001E & more

The latest .dmp files don't provide any conclusive evidence as to the crash.

Please do the following:

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Driver Verifier will cause your computer to run very sluggishly - this is normal. What it is trying to do is force your system to BSOD and isolate the offending driver/s. When it does, reboot, disable driver verifier, reboot as normal and upload the new dmp file/s here.

I recommend creating a system restore point before turning on driver verifier:
System Restore Point - Create

If your system fails to boot to desktop once driver verifier is enabled, turn it off by booting into Safe Mode:
Safe Mode

Hi

Please follow the below steps.

Upload the actual crash dump files.

You will find the crash dump files inside C:\Windows\Minidump folder. To copy the dumps, disable "User Account Control" first. Otherwise you may receive a permission error. After disabling UAC, copy and zip most recent three or more dumps to a single file. Either attach the zip with next reply using "More reply options --> Attach files" or use a free file hosting site.

For example -> http://www.mediafire.com/

Publish a snapshot of your system using Speccy.

"Speccy" is a free tool which can list the hardware specs, temperature status, installed Windows updates, HDD SMART info etc of your system. Please read the below tutorial to know how to use "Speccy" to collect system info.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/323892/publish-a-snapshot-using-speccy/

Don't paste the output displayed by "Speccy" here. Instead paste the web link it displays.

Minitoolbox log.

"Minitoolbox" can list all the installed programs as well as event log errors in your system. Download "Minitoolbox" from the below link.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/

Run the tool and only select the following tick boxes.

List last 10 Event viewer errors
List installed program
List users, partition and memory size
List Minidumps

Now click "Go" and post the output displayed in next reply.

The full error is - stop: 0x0000001E (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

To add to the crash, my pc them does not restart. Sometime i have to leave it for an hour or overnight before it will boot. All i hear is the fan's but there's nothing on to screen.

When the Pc does boot ok (it of course goes through all the checks you get after a crash) it can be anything from 1minute to 2 hours and it will crash again. This makes it difficult to actually work on it.

I'll do my best to upload a dump file as soon as i can (typing from a laptop right now).

So far i have tried the following (with various help by searching on google).

Reinstalling windows.

Returned my mobo, cpu and Ram to the shop (was bought as a bundle), all tested fine.

Assuming it could only be my graphics card, i have bought a new one. I also bought a new PSU.

Perfmon reports that drivers for your coprocessor haven't been installed. Please visit the PC Manufacturer's website and download and install the chipset drivers for your system ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce-...56-driver.html ). Then run another perfmon /report to ensure that the update has succeeded.

You only have 55 updates after SP1, most systems have 70 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get all available updates (language packs aren't necessary).

Software Concerns:Security Software: ??? I see Sophos installed, but I do not see it running. Is it running, or is it even actually installed?

Make sure to install security software. I recommend either of these:Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows coupled with Malwarebytes. Do not start the free trial of Malwarebytes. Just use the standalone version, update it, and scan your computer once a week with Malwarebytes and with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Good and Free system security combination.

After installing your security software, update it, and then run full scans today with each program. Report back the results of the scans.

Analysis:Crashes point to your wireless network adapter. Yours appears to be a USB device with Atheros drivers (you may have a different manufacturer). I would advice replacing the USB wireless network adapter with a Windows 7 compatible PCI wireless adapter. If you cannot replace the USB device with a PCI device, at least get a USB device that is Windows 7 compatible; yours is from 2008 and is pre-Windows 7.

Keep in mind that if you do stay with USB wireless network adapters instead of PCI, they are inherrently unstable. USB ports do not supply adequate power for those devices to work reliably. You are much better off with a PCI device if you can find one that meets your needs and fits your system's hardware configuration.

Looking at your dump files I see numerous errors, however there is a particular function that has caught my eye.

Code:
BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff80003506622, fffff880033e06d8, fffff880033dff30}

Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KxWaitForLockOwnerShip+12 )
This function, because it's undocumented there isn't too much about it.
I will take an educated guess and say it looks like a thread is trying to take ownership of a mutex object but is having to wait for some reason.

We can see an access violation which means the CPU has tried to access memory that is simply not available, whether it's due to a null pointer or the address trying to access has already been freed.

Code:

(fffff800`03506610) nt!KxWaitForLockOwnerShip+0x12 | (fffff800`03506660) nt!KxWaitForLockChainValid
There's the access violation that occurred at nt!KxWaitForLockOwnerShip

Hi.

Stop any overclocking, set everything back to default settings and try again.
Also we have many reports from new users about BF3 crash\bsod.
I believe is not windows fault but game (BF3) fault.
BF3 is a new game, maybe an update\patch will "fix' the compatibility.

I have recently experienced problems with lag spikes during playing this MMO game. The game has indicator showing FPS and ping, which are most of the time acceptable, FPS being about 80, and ping about 40, which enables smooth playing. But every minute or so, my ping goes to 999 for a sec or two and then is back on normal, but during those 2 secs i am completely helpless ingame. FPS never has such issues.
I tried cleaning all background processes like Skype, Dropbox, but couldn't find any problem, i used CCleaner program. I have to add that i had played this game before on same computer and haven't had these lag spikes. Could it be some spyware is occupying bandwith?

P.S. maybe it is relevant to add, i have second comp in house and although he has a little lower performance, that one never displays such lag spike.

Hi ThePcNoob, Welcome to PCHF!

Yes that computer will be able to run World of Tanks with no problems. Here are the system requirements for World of Tanks just so you know, World of Tanks System Requirements.

If you can afford it, in the future you might consider installing a dedicated video card if you intend on playing more demanding games but that will depend on how powerful the power supply is.

Recently out of no where I've started seeing BSODs, reading the Blue screen and searching for the error hasn't returned any useful results.

The search results ask me to update my bios, check for free disk space or any driver corruption. I'm refraining from updating my bios as I don't believe it's needed and there is plenty of free disk space. I imagine a driver is causing this but I'm unsure of which one as the BSOD isn't very clear.

Currently I am running Windows 7 64 bit and specs are as follows.

CPU: 2600K
Video Card: ATI 7970
MotherBoard: Sabertooth P67
Power Supply: Corsair 850

Hi all Well last month i had to have a new motherboard fitted to my 2 yr old Window 7 Home Essentials 64 bit pc (which i thought weird given how "new" it is). Anyway when i got the pc back the hdmi sound settings in playback had gone, so i took it back to the shop again, where they said they had "fixed" it, but they hadnt. All they did was remove my avg & spybot search and destroy and replace it with windows home essentials & they updated Explorer to 9 (which i hate & swiftly reverted back to 8). I can watch films & the kids can play games in HDMI, BUT we cant listen to sounds via the monitor or tv, as we previously could (sound settings - playback devices only showing our speakers now, no spfdi (or whatever its called lol) or hdmi device)..i thought i could live without this, so just left it. However over the past 2 wks i have been getting more and more BSOD's (this only ever happened once before, then the new m.b got fitted) and im constantly getting the stop error 0x0000001E followed by other numbers (all 0's). Thursday night i had 4 BSOD's within a matter of 20 mins!! So i left the pc alone till the next day (y'day).
Y'day I did a search on this forum and some one had a similar problem, and they were advised it had something to do with Windows Home Essentials. I unistalled and reinstalled both java and flash, but the problem persisted, so i disabled W.H.E and the problem seemed to have disappeared, wooohooo all day with no problems,kid... Read more

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Whatever, post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions. A 0x1E BSOD may be caused by a wide range of reasons, from a device driver to the BIOS. Without seeing the files, nobody can get any idea.

My computer overall has been so weird lately

1. It started to reset instead of shutting off for a while.
2. Then it did not wanna turn back on after it went to hibernate, it turned on and it turned off right away, it restarted till i held down the power button. I disabled hibernate
3. At one point the folders took a while to load, and when they did it would only show the thumbnail for a bit o sometimes no thumbnail it was weird.
4. Now finally i got a BSOD, I'm in safemode right now.

What could be the problem? i am completely lost here. I'm about to do a clean install of windows 7 but i have so much stuff i do not really wanna lose.

also all this has been happening in the course of around a month.

I have fully uninstalled all my Nvidia drivers, and removed the files left over manually, I have cleaned by computer case, checked the fans, put new heat gel on my CPU, tried back dated graphics cards drivers and even beta drivers, reinstalling windows, Memtest, Furmark, CPU stress test.

My CPU's average temperature is around 45C. I have reinstalled all the software for all my USB devices, searched for updates for windows, rest my BIOS to default.. I have even read through posts of this site for this kinda BSOD, and nothing has helped me.. Im pulling my hair out here, I need my PC for work, and I really need help.

Hello, a friend is having crashes after roughly 30-45min. Whether it is sitting idle or under load from games. The old video card failed about a week ago and replaced it with a different and more recent model.
Drivers were uninstalled and the card removed before installing the new card and drivers.
The problem only began after the new video card was installed.
The upgrade was from a GTX 690 to GTX 1080.

I've been getting BSOD recently when playing games (Starcraft II and Diablo III, to be exact)... though I can't be certain it's related to the games, since games are what I primarily use this computer for.

I thought the crash might be due to faulty memory, and I had been looking to upgrade my memory anyway, so I recently bought entirely new memory and installed it in my box... unfortunately, this did not solve the problem, as I got another crash today, so I'm coming here for help.

Any hints on where to look would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Paul

Answer:BSOD - 0x0000001e (usually) when playing games

Welcome aboard. Your latest dump says:
STOP 0x0000001E: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Usual causes: Device driver, hardware, System service, compatibility, Remote control programs, memory, BIOS.

In such a situation, it is better to check that if there is any device driver is there behind those crashes.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

This is my first time using this forum, so im sorry if i do something wrong.

Ive bought this PC about a year ago and havent had any problems with it at all, until recently.
About a month ago i started getting BSODs while playing LoL, i tried recovering the operating system, but the BSOD still exists.
I also tried turning off Intel Turbo Boost and it seemed to help a little, the BSODs stopped occuring for a day or two, and now im getting them again, more and more frequently.
The BSODs only occure while playing video games, usually 20-25 minutes into the game.

Also, here is a screenshot of BlueScreenViewer window, dont know if its any helpful tho:

I have gotten this BSOD 4-5 times now while playing Civilization 5.

- My PC specs -

Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO (flashed with newest bios)
CPU: Intel i7 2600K with a H80 cooler.
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB CL9
GFX: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5
HDD: Crucial RealSSD C300 128GB (flashed with newest firmware)

The system is overclocked to 4.5GHz(tested 1 hour in Prime95 without errors)
Clean Windows 7 ultimate 64bit install with all updates(Had the BSOD before and after this.)
Im running Lucid Virtu in D-mode.
Minidump added in attachment.

This is happening only in Civ5, and always later in the game when the CPU load is getting heavier. Games like Battlefield 3 or M&M Heroes 6 runs without hickups.

Thanks in advance, Glenn Eric.

Lot's of issues around the web with SSD's recently. Here's the notes that I've compiled:

Quote:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
- Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.-
Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware) to be used on a system that needs to work reliably. Until I see reliab... Read more

Greetings,

I've been plagued with BSOD's generally while playing video games (STOP 0x0000001E). I can reproduce this error 100% of the time when playing Civilization 5. I've also been experiencing random computer restarts when doing tasks such as playing video games, watching videos or word processing.

When I started getting this error, I thought it may have been my PSU not supplying enough power to the graphics card, so I upgraded from a 400W to a 650W (running a Radeon HD 4870). I also upgraded my motherboard to an ASUS M5A97 (same CPU but upgraded RAM). Unfortunately, this did not fix my errors.

Recently, after updating some files (I don't recall which exactly), I've started receiving the following error upon system startup: "kdbsync.exe has stopped working". I have not resolved this issue.

I appreciate any help that can be provided.

rddesautels, all the dumps you uploaded are quite old, and debugging on those may not be very effective.
Is there any latest dumps?

Run Disc Cleanup (Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools). Then follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Hi.

I have played WoT for about a year with no problems, but in the last few days they have issued update 7.2, and apparently my graphics card is no longer up to the job (and the WoT game makers are of no help whatsoever).

I have a ATI Radeon X1200 graphics card in my Acer E series PC running a 32bit windows 7 OS.

My question is, can I download any software to enable my GFX card to run better, or do I need to buy a new GFX card ?

And if I do need to buy a new card, which one would be best ?

Thanks guys, I have used this site for years but only just registered now so I can post this.

Thanks again.

So my dad has been playing WOT for a few years now and recently I helped him build a new computer so we could hand-me-down his older one. I built him a computer with: AMD Athlon II 270 3.4ghz CPU, Biostar A780L3G AM3 MB, 2x4GB Kingston Hyper-X 1600 Ram, Antec VP-450 PSU, Sapphire Radeon HD4850. He has been playing just fine on this setup since November 2013 until the last 2 months. WOT shuts down the computer with no BSOD or minidump/log yet consistently while performing the same action (clicking the battle button or spectating while destroyed) never anything else. This can happen the very first time the computer is turned on or after 10 hours of gameplay later, and even some days it doesn't even happen at all. I have ran Furmark and Prime 95 at the same time to see if the PSU is failing and even after a few hours of maximum power consumption it's still stable. This computer is completely stock no OC or OV at all. CPU reaches 62c with P95 large ffts, and GFX reaches 106c with furmark on 1280/1024 (desktop res 1280/1028/ game res 1024/768) 0 fxAA. WOT doesn't use nearly as much power as running both P95 & Furmark separate or together..What can I do?

Answer:Computer shuts down while in World Of Tanks

My first thought would be the pw supply. Antec pw supplies are NOT recommended for any type of gaming [exception the antec hcg or high current gamer] Those are fine for gaming.

What are the voltages under load?

Do you have the problem on any other game?

I believe the max temp for that card is approx 100C so you may be getting close to the max temp. Have you pulled the card and given it a good cleaning with a can of air? Checked that ALL fans in your system are in fact working?

TL;DR because forums ate the previous thread I was trying to post

>Play WoT for 2.5 years on HP laptop, Win 7
>Breaks down, get new Acer laptop, Win 8 (major hardware upgrade, yay)
>Additional admin account set up for me, brother uses the original "owner" admin account
>My account doesn't have permission to run WoT (how does that even work, an admin is denied access and has to give permission to himself)
>Give permission to run WoT on my account through right click + properties (took a while to find that)
>Gives me error 0xc0000022 when trying to start through launcher
>Can still play on the owner account, but that is rather inconvenient

Help please?

When he installed , did he get the option to 'install for all users' ?
option might be to uninstall on his account then re-install and see if that option appears.

Really need your help.

My HP laptop keep crashing and we get the blue screen whenever we log on in Administrator accounts. When I log on as Guest it doesn't crash. The BSOD starting happening after one of my friends used my browser.

I've attached the SevenForums zip file

Thank You!

Answer:BSOD when logged on as Administrator, STOP: 0x0000001E

What did your friend do? What websites did he visit? Did he download anything?

Can you boot into safe mode as an administrator? If so, I would create a new account with administrator rights, then log in as the new administrator to see if the BSODs continue. I would also do a complete virus scan while in safe mode, because my first thought is that your friend got your system infected.

Hello to anyone and everyone,

I've been having multiple BSOD's, usually being nvlddmkm.sys which I thought I solved when I re-installed my NVidia drivers. I also tried downgrading to the 285, and even upgrading to the 290 revision drivers.

After that the errors came back, but much less frequent.

I am still having these BSOD's unfortunately though. Very rarely when I'm watching videos.

They become more frequent it seems as I start to do/play more demanding things.
Such as if I play Minecraft, I can play it sometimes for 6 hours straight before getting a BSOD, sometimes it might be 4-5 hours though.
But if I play something such as Perfect World International or Skyrim, etc. I get a BSOD sometimes after 2-3 hours of game play, sometimes even less (30 mins-an hour)

I have checked almost everything I can think of and can't figure it out.
I did a mem86 test on each RAM stick over 2 nights, each coming out error free.

My CPU temps stay at about 30c-55c (55c when gaming)
Same with my Video card temps.

My computer specs are:

Answer:Random BSOD,stop 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC000328)

Hello spadexhearts and welcome to Sevenforums.

BSOD Analyse

I've seen pointers towards your USB drivers.

Possible fix| Go to Device Manager > Expand the USB list > Right click the first one > Select Properties > Go to the Driver tab > Select Uninstall Driver and do it to all of them.

Let Windows detect them and reinstall them. What kind of USB Devices to you have attached to your hub?

SFC /scannow

We usually ask people to do this command to check if Windows is corrupted. It's the most common one used to check if the Windows files are corrupted. If it'll find errors, it'll restore them.

   Tip
If you're having a custom customization layer on your Aero, it's likely to get restored to default.
Press Start | search 'cmd' | Right-click it
| open as Admin | type SFC /SCANNOW

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Hi, according to the guidelines, I'm starting a thread here with my problems.

I keep getting this "STOP 0x0000001E" error on my computer, with no apparent cause. The closest my own troubleshooting has gotten me is to identify a missing driver, or outdated driver. However, upon checking my "Device Manager," everything appears to be up-to-date.

My system information:
DELL Studio XPS Laptop 1640
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9550 @ 2.66GHz 2.67GHz

As per the "BSOD Posting Instructions," I've attached my "Systems Diagnostic Report" and the "BSOD Dump & System File Collection Report" as a single .zip file to this post. Please let me know here if any other information from me is required.

Much thanks.
[EDIT] Whoops, my genius self has forgotten to attach the files. >>

Perfmon shows issues with your Microsoft Security Essentials software. Please do the following:
- download a fresh copy of the Security Essentials software
- uninstall the current software
- install the fresh copy of the Security Essentials software

MSINFO32 shows:
approximately 97 STOP 0x1E errors blaming the kernel (core of the OS)
5 STOP 0x76 blaming iexplore.exe (unusual)
10 STOP 0x9F blaming USBSTOR (dump files may reveal another driver)

Only 2 dump files were in the upload (5 and 6 Jan 2012) - both were STOP 0x1E
These each blame the kernel (core of the OS) and are memory access errors (c0000005)

Right now I suspect the drivers for your Ricoh memory card reader - as they date from 2006.
Please update them from the PC Manufacturer's website immediately
Then monitor for further BSOD's

If the BSOD's continue, please post back and we'll try Driver Verifier on all 3rd party drivers.

I've been getting the BSOD about 2 minutes after startup. During those 2 minutes, I won't be able to open anything and many of my background apps crash. I managed to reach Safe Mode and looking for help now.

Hello there!

Seems like the dump files are very vague not specific cause I can spot. Since Safe Mode is working fine it might be some program in startup or a driver that's not loading in Normal mode.

Enable Driver Verifier Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers and post us with the updated dump files.

Run SFC Scan SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Hello, I was working on a computer I am refurbishing and most of its problems were worked out (all software; reinstalling Windows and drivers), but when test-running it today, after running for a few hours, I went to check on it and (I think it woke from sleep) then it blue-screened. It had no label, just the stop code 0x0000001E (and then in parenthesis a few, I think 4, 0x00000000). I don't really know what it means, but I have not yet updated the BIOS (updates are avaliable) so I don't know if that would help. Thanks for any help. (Required ZIP attached).
EDIT: The BSOD doesn't list a specific reason. It displays: 0x0000001e (0x0000000, 0x0000000, 0x0000000, 0x0000000).

These crashes were caused by memory corruption. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
1-Memtest.

Hi, my pc recently started to freeze at random, doesn't matter what i'm doing, if playing or watching films or even nothing: the image on the monitor is blocked, mouse and keyboard loose alimentation while the rest of the pc (fans ad cd drives) keep working and the hdd led is off. (all tempereture are low i don't think it's overheating)
Occasionally it also crash with the BSOD error STOP: 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80002A891CF, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

I tried to change tha ram with 3 new corsair 2Gb 1600mhz but it froze anway.
Also i've formatted and reinstalled win 7 on main HD, updated the bios, downloaded all the drivers for the mainboard from the asus site, and the drivers for the video card, but didn't helped.

Another problem (but i don't know if it's related) is that the pc found a RAID controller and it asks the driver for it, but i don't have a RAID controller and i didn't set the hard disk in raid mode in bios, also when i download asus drivers for raid controllers i receive this message: system does not have requirement for the installation,
right at 100% of installation.

Hope i've been clear enough and thank for your help and tell me if i have to give you any other information.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.

I have an issue where my laptop crashes at varying times, but like at least once per half hour and sometimes a startup for 6 or 8 starts in a row. The BSOD usually says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but sometimes is missing any explanation in that place on the screen The STOP codes are either 0x0000001E or 0x0000000a and there are various parameters following usually including 0x0000000000000000 and ox0000000000000001 or 2 or Z .

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium,

I have run malware bytes and a couple other similar tools, disabled and tried to uninstall macafee programs, and I've run windows memory diagnostic tool (extended) at 10 passes, with no irregularities found.

I have run both the debug tol and the diagnostic tool and uploaded results from both.

Please help!
Thank you...

All,

New the the forums, but frustrated and though maybe somebody could help me out. I get this random stop error (above) randomly when playing MMORPGs. I have tried a fresh install of Win7 Home Premium x64, but the error persists. I have tried to flash the BIOS, but get errors erasing blocks in the flash. Perhaps someone can help guide me. I do not want to shotgun hardware, but at this point, I am willing to try just about anything.

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

You have reasons to do some more extensive system scan.

Currently i have been blue screening in only one game. I have played Battlefield 3 for 5 hours straight with no problem. Age of conan for 2 hours no problem. And Blacklight Retribution for 3 hours no problem. Only APB: Reloaded is giving me any sort of crashes, freezes, blue screening. Before i repaired the files through the game launcher, i received bsods 3 seconds after spawning in to the world. After repairing APB would just freeze with repeating sounds after spawning (i could stay in the login screen all day), so i then played in windowed mode which fixed the sound repeating and freezing. But just now i played APB for aprox 40 minutes and decided to get off and do something else. Except right when i closed the game and arrived at my desktop, i blue screened again.

I have checked my memory using the windows 7 tool. I also tried putting my gpu and cpu at stock defaults but that did not fix it.

I have updated everything in my computer except my bios. A fix would be awesome I love playing APB but at this rate im forced to give up on it and play other games.

I've recently begun getting random crashes while playing games on my PC. At first i never received a BSOD, the PC just froze and restarted but I made sure that the PC didn't automatically restart after a crash and i got a BSOD this time.

I first suspected that high temps were the problem but when i checked them they were fine. I then thought that the PSU might be faulty, but from what I've been able to gather it shouldn't be any problems with that either.

This is my latest dmp file that i received when i played the new Assassins creed game. However i must tell you that the "freeze restarts" have occurred on more games than that, even once while on the desktop after playing a game.

I'd greatly appreciate some support to locate whatever it is that's causing my system to fail all the time.

The crashes are very random, sometimes just a few minutes into gaming and sometimes after several hours. They also seem to occur more often in Assassins Creed as opposed to DayZ. This might have to do something with me using a controller for Assassins Creed. It's a PS3 controller connected to a USB Bluetooth device. I then use motioninjoy's drivers to emulate it as a xbox controller.

Thanks for your time and help!

Answer:BSOD mostly while playing games, error 0x0000001E

Well, I have to telly ya; that motionjoy driver could very well be the culprit as i did see another thread on these forums with the same or similar issues; and that ended up being the problem. Especially when you are referring to trying to "emulate" a piece of hardware. I dont think doing that usually works very well as the pc/windows platforms are not meant to be played with a console controller per say.
