Flash player related application crashes on windows 7

Question: Flash player related application crashes on windows 7

I just installed windows 7 today, and I just find out that the flash-related application - you tube and Facebook flash game crashes whenever I tried to launch them.

I had followed the instructions in adobe, uninstall and reinstall adobe player 10, but it doesn't solve the problem...

Also, I tried IE 8, and google chrome, and both of them are facing the same problem.

I think the problem lies in Microsoft or Adobe itself because I didn't experience the problem in Windows 7 RC.

Just when I wanna give a thumbs up to 7, problem comes

Preferred Solution: Flash player related application crashes on windows 7

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So, I've been having this problem for a few months now, I initially gave up and hardly touched my computer for a couple of months but now I need it again so I'm here!
The problem started when my computer started to freeze randomly, it would lock up, the sound would just buzz and it would become completely unusable. No BSOD or anything like that, just a frozen screen. I then realised this was always only happening when I was watching a video online that was using flash player? I have no problem watching YouTube HTML-5 videos and Netflix is fine too (I'm not sure if that's flash or not?). Anything I go on using flash player video will last about 1 minute and then it will freeze forcing me to reboot.
I tried everything from completely removing flash and installing older versions, changing to Windows 10 then back to 8, made sure my drivers were up to date, everything I could think of. I'm experienced with computer software and competent with hardware but here I really am stumped. The ONLY time I have problems is when flash player is involved, I can play games, Photoshop etc. forever with no problems at all, but if I try to watch one minute of a video, it's gone.
Having come back to it to try and fix it again I am convinced it must be a hardware problem. On startup I have a 'memory configuration mismatch, press F1 to continue or F2 for setup' message. Could this be related to my problem?

I'm trying to clean up my files. I note that in C:/Documents and Settings/%UserName%/Application Data, the Flash Player subfolder in Macromedia has 68 subfolders for, it seems, all websites I've browsed or visited that use Flash Player, i.e.
C:\Documents and Settings\cwood\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\\support\flashplayer\sys\

Is it safe to delete these subfolders, or the SOL Settings file that each of them contain?

I'm troubleshooting a user's system that's having the occasional BSOD. Dump log attached. I wasn't able to get many details on what was causing the issue, but possibly related to watching online videos, so Flash. Apologies I can't provide more details. Hey ,

since I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 I'm getting a wierd problem. Sometimes my Browser ( FF 3.5 , IE8 , Opera10 ) stops responding. I have to close it via Task Manager and re-open it. When viewing a video on youtube , it stops responding immediately.
I cannot use Windows Media Player , ICQ , Skype or any Internet Browser until I reboot. The event history is only giving me a " 1002 - Application Hang ".

I think it has something to do with Adobe Flash Player. If I uninstall , the problem goes away - but I cannot live without Adobe Flash

My Problem is very similar to another one from this board :

I also tried uninstalling the Flash Player and reinstall it - but it doesn't help.

My System :

ECS Elitegroup A-780GM-A
2GB Geil Ultra DDR2-800 CL4
ATI HD4850 512M
Cosair VX450W PSU
Athlon 64 6000+ X2

PS: Sorry for my bad english

Hey guys,

I'm having a similar issue that the user had here:

Where basically, after going to YouTube a number of times, my browser (Firefox) hangs along with other applications in Windows 7 such as: Windows Media Player, Steam, etc. This issue also occurs with Internet Explorer as well, not just Firefox. In order to use these programs again, I have to restart my computer.

This is error message I specifically receive for Firefox:

The program firefox.exe version stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: df0
Start Time: 01cab04181311ad9
Termination Time: 38
Application Path: E:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
Report Id: 6973602b-1c59-11df-b4c0-00270e00352b

So far, to remedy this problem, I have tried:

1) Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Adobe Flash Player.
2) Using CCleaner and Ashampoo to see if it was some kind of registry/program issue or whatever that could be sorted out.
3) Virus scan with Norton AV 2010 and Malwarebytes. Removed any infected items, but the problem still persists. I don't believe it's a virus or spyware because I scan regularly and it doesn't seem to affect the issue I've been having.

So my question is: is there anything I could do that I haven't done yet to try and fix... Read more

When I try to do a crossword puzzle here,, using the Firefox browser, it behaves jerkily, lags and sometimes even crashes the Adobe Flash Player. I've tried it several times in IE and there's no problem. This site worked okay with Firefox until a few days ago. I wrote to that page's webmaster, but so far, no reply. Any known fixes?

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with my flash player - although I usually use Firefox, it also happens in IE and Chrome. Whenever a flash object starts, the browser crashes, and I have to either wiat about 50 seconds for it to tell me, or just kill the process in task manager.

The only remedy is to uninstall flash and the plugin, and then reinstall a slightly older version (I usually use the most up to date one, as are all my other drivers). However, this only works until next time I switch the computer on - then the problem recurs.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? It's pretty frustrating, as it means pop-ups often crash my browser, and I can't really find any solutions, as it's not specific to any one browser. I've had other issues with this laptop (integrated webcam, laptop feeling laggy) and this just makes me think it's a "sick" computer.

Any ideas? All help much appreciated.

Hello ryrhino,

Do find out which program is the culprit we have to play a game of elimination.

Lets start of by disabling ALL 3.
-Does flash freeze?

Then enable ONE
-leave the other two disable.
-Does it freeze?

If it doesnt freeze, disable the one that is Enabled and Enabled another one
-Does this freeze?

And so on until you find the one that does freeze

To disable an addon launch ChromeIn the right hand corner click on the icon

First I just want to say what a great job you guys are doing here. This forum really looks helpful and I hope you guys can help me out.

I seem to have so many problems with my desktop (Windows XP Professional OS) but I want to point out the worst ones!

One big problem is with my Flash player. For some reason everytime I hit a site that requires the flash player, the windows explorer will crash within minutes of viewing that site. It rarely opens for more than 3-5 minutes. I have tried re-installing flash player a couple of times but the problem still persists.

Another big problem I have is with my windows media player. Everytime I stream a some kind of movie file off a site, either the media player will crash within a couple of minutes or the entire computer will shut off. When I restart my computer it says there was a "critical error" and when I click on why this happens it always tells me that one of my devices has a problem (but it can never locate which device).

Lastly, when I boot my computer after turning it off for a couple of hours, the computer fails to load XP on its first time. It will spontaneously restart by itself at least 4-5 times before reaching the XP screen. I have no idea why this happens.

So in conclusion, I think my problem is either one of these. One, I have a broken graphics card. Two, my RAM is shot. Or three, my hard drive is screwed up.

Please let me know how I can either diagnose if a device is broken or diagnose if the probl... Read more

Have XP with all recent updates. When going to, I can't load Flash Player. I keep getting the following prompt - iexplore.exe - application error... This memory could not be written See attachment for screen shot of the application error message with additional coding information.
Here is what I have tried so far without success:
When prompt appears - tried clicking cancel to de-bug...Results in computer freeze. Usually have to reboot.
Removed all past flash players versions from hard drive.
Scanned for virus and spy-ware - None found.
Tried the Repair Registry Software that claims it will solve this problem. It didn't help.
Security set to medium / custom setting to enable active X settings
Tried loading older versions of Flash Player to no success. Get the same prompt.
I'm at a loss as to what needs to be done. Can anyone provide suggestions?

Answer:Solved: Flash Player - iexplore - Application Error

When you say 'load', do you mean that you are attempting to install or upgrade the Flash plugin for IE? Assuming the Adobe site works for you, try this version tester to see what, if any, version you currently have; (the latest is 10,0,32.18).

Newer versions of Flash should be uninstalled with the special Adobe uninstaller, if you didn't use it, try it now in case your problem has something to do with leftover components of old versions of Flash; Note that if you have other browsers installed, the uninstaller will remove their Flash plugin as well and you will need to replace it.

If the uninstaller doesn't help, you could try following the advice in this Adobe Troubleshooter; Hopefully, the Registry 'repair' tool you ran hasn't done any permanent damage. Those things rarely do any good!

Answer:Solved: when viewing "my picture" folder in thumbnail the related application crashes

Try deleting all the Thumbs.db files in the pictures folders (you may have to turn off protect hidden operting system files in Tools>Folder Options>View to see them) so they rebuild themselves. Also see if it works from another account. If that doesn't help there's probably some corruption in the dll that's performing the thumbnail routine and you'll have to get advice from more versed citizens on how to replace that dll.

This is a problem I've been having for over a year, and still have not found a fix to. What happens is that when I play any Youtube video, the video plays for like a split second, then Youtube starts to automatically change the quality lower and lower, each time it changes the quality the video restarts, and when it's down the the lowest quality the whole Flash player crashes.
I have read about this issue on Adobe's community where many tips have been suggested such as reinstalling the flash player, turning hardware acceleration off, among other things. I don't believe I have ever seen anyone saying that performing these tips have helped stopping this problem, I have not been successful with it either.
I don't know if this problem is isolated to Windows 7 or not, because I do have a Windowd Vista computer where I don't have the problem, but on all other three computers (all Windows 7) i have the same problem.

While trying to use my webcam with Flash (using the stickam website) my browser is crashing. I have tried this on Firefox3 (newest version) and Internet Explorer (newest version) - both browsers crash. My built-in Motion Eye webcam is working correctly with other programs (Skype, MSN). So, this leads me to believe Vista and Flash are clashing.

I emailed support from the stickam website, and there suggestion was this:
"Please delete your cookies and clear the cache in your browser tools, also go here and delete all sites"
After trying this on both browsers several times, it still does not work. I tried reinstalling Flash, but that did not work either.

I have Flash Player 10, Windows Vista Home, Sony Vaio CS.

Thanks for any advice.

I've been running Windows XP and the latest version of flash on this computer for as long as I can remember. The only thing is, about a year ago my computer tended to restart itself when I tried to load a large flash/shockwave file on both IE and FF. Some websites cannot cause it to crash at all, Youtube, for instance, but other websites like GameTrailers cause the problem in hand.

I've tried installing and reinstalling them many times, but the problem persists to this day.

If anyone could help me to resolve this, I would be monumentally grateful.

Use this tool to do so:

Now, use your browsers for a while (I know it'll be tough without flash but make it so) are you still getting crashes? If so, go to Event viewer and review any errors. Paste the details here for more info.

Hey guys, How are you? I have a client that is running xp pro with 1.79 hz processor speed and 3.8 gig of ram. THE ONLY thing she uses this comp for is FACEBOOK; more importantly FARMVILLE. I have tweaked this thing according to zynga and it will not load at all, take it back to default google settings and it works better; have stripped the comp of any programs that she does not use, clean the caches and all the regular stuff. Of course finances are bad for her; so I do this for free. I have never taken the "bleeping comp" approach and would like to submit this for answers. I have been very impressed with this site and hope that someone will take me under their wing and solve this.
By the way, the error message is flash player has stop working/ reload or quit. If you let it set a minute, it will continue, slowly loading. If she switches farms (farmville is foreign to me) then the flash player will freeze, a funny puzzle piece comes up with a frown and says that flash has failed, must restart. Close the browser and reopen and it will slowly load.
Thanks in advance,

problem is theres no 64-bit version of adobe flash player. so I started using the 32-bit version of IE so I can use flash. every now and then it says "internet explorer has stopped working" ect.. says its checking for a solution to the problem and no solution exists of course

so anyway its prolly because its the 32-bit version and they didnt bother testing it enough on the 64 bit OS.

anyone else experiencing this?

Answer:no 64bit flash player, 32bit IE crashes...

Hello Scott,

The 64-bit Windows 7 comes with a 32-bit and 64-bit IE8, with the 32-bit IE8 as the default one to be used. It's hard to say without seeing the entire error code details, but when you get this error it's usually caused by a bad IE add-on that was installed, or a noncompatible outdated website. You might see if resetting Internet Explorer back to default may help.

Hope this helps,

Any suggestions what to do? Thanks for reading.

Are you having problems with videos on youtube, does the Adobe Flash Player plugin crash when you switch videos to fullscreen ?
If so, then it?s caused by the latest update to Adobe Flash Player ( which was released 2015-07-08.
Installing Adobe Flash Player v13 (ESR) might solve the problem.
"Extended Support Release - Flash Player
What is the Extended Support Release?
Adobe makes available a version of Flash Player called the "Extended Support Release" (ESR) to organizations that prefer Flash Player stability over new functionality. We have created a branch of the Flash Player code that we keep up to date with all of the latest security updates, but none of the new features or bug fixes available in our current release branch. This allows organizations to ceritify and stay secure on Flash Player with minimal effort.
Adobe Flash Player v13 (ESR):
Although I?m using Pale Moon 64-bit, there are a few threads on Adobe?s forum where people say this has happened also with other non-IE browsers, like fx. Firefox.
I had to: install Pale Moon-32, run Pale Moon in safe-mode several times,
reinstall Pale Moon-64, run Pale Moon in safe-mode several times,
uninstall & reinstall Adobe Flash Player several times, to fix this problem.

ot the latest versions of flash player plugin and latest Firefox installed on a Windows 7 32-bit system.

After running the browser for awhile the flash player crashes in Firefox. I have tried uninstalling/installing Flash player and Firefox. I also tried installing older version of Flash player. Nothing seems to work. Flash works fine in Chrome and IE.

Answer:Adobe Flash Player crashes in Firefox!!!!

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these: disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player. I have went to Adobe site to do a test, it says it is installed and working. Here is the problem. I have been to two different site for employement to fill out the companies online application, however I am getting messages that keep telling me to install an updated browser( I use IE8) Which I have installed several times and/or my flash plugin needs to be installed. Okay so here I have installed a browser update to IE8 and have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe flash player which according to Adobe has installed successfully and working. I have also contacted the companies where I have experience the problems they say it's my computer not them.

Answer:Flash Player Plugins is installed and working? But won't work for business application

Is this the test you ran to check your version of Adobe Flash?; If not, run this and see if it confirms your version as Alternatively, you could try the test at this site (which is optimized for IE) to see if it confirms that you have the various plugins etc;

Assuming the tests are positive, there is one more thing you could do, which is to try installing a 'standalone' version of Flash;

If none of this helps, you may be a victim of an IE 8 problem which I can't help with, but someone else here may be able to. Depending on whether you use XP or Vista, it may be possible to revert to IE 7 (or better still, use Firefox or Opera). Wait and see what others advise.

Hey guys i tend to have quite a few problems with adobe flash player crashing on firefox, meanign i cant watch videos unless i reset the browser a few times.

Should i have auto updates on or just the notify me when new updates are available option? Do both options open up web browsers or does automatic just install in the background with no warning (no installation is complete message, things like that)

Answer:Adobe auto updates and flash player crashes

Try to right click the video click Settings and in the display tab untick "Enable hardware acceleration" and see if that helps. Personally I choose to be notified of an update and before installing check online to see if there are any reported problems

So, my computer is about 2.5 years old and I have been facing massive problems with flashplayer.

The issue is this: Whenever I run videos with my favorite drama's, the video player would then stop loading cause the whole screen to freeze whilst still being able to move my mouse. Then the computer would turn black and restart and tells me that I need to insert a new boot device or boot media in order to boot up my computer. So What is the problem here? I have downgraded flash player beta 12.0 to 11.9 and I have defrag my computer. Usually, mozilla firefox would tell me, the shockwave flashplayer plugin has crashed and allows me to refresh, but it has become so alarmingly frequent that every other video I view would result in me needing to Hard reset my computer by turning off the sockets.

Continued usage would cause me to freeze every half an hour of usage even after resetting. The question is am i overheating, something too? It all started when other programs im running concurrently with the video stopped responding and my computer keeps freezing before it restarts itself. I was running flash games that were downloaded.

How do I fix this?

Answer:Computer Restarts when Video Stops Loading/ Flash Player Crashes

first of all id try a non Beta version of flash. make sure its the x64 bit version and not the 32bit. For some unknown reason the automatic flash update always downloads the 32bit version for me..
Next id update all of you drivers (most important GPU and chipset) this will eliminate any driver conflicts that may pop up.

Hi guys,
I just joined the forums today.
My issue has to do with basically every internet browser I have and Nvidia Geforce Experience.  Whenever I open chrome and opera, both of them crash instantly.  Additionally, whenever I open firefox and edge and go to certain pages such as or, the websites crash.  On IE, it does basically the same thing; the only difference is that I go to the webpage it generally crashes on and it says IE stopped responding, but IE is still loading the webpages and I can still add a new tab!  Also, after getting an alert yesterday from Geforce Experience that a new video card driver was available, I clicked on the alert, only to have a window pop up saying that it crashed.  I tried to open Geforce Experience again.  Crashed again.
After trying to use a system restore point from October 18, 2016 (before I had this issue) I still had this problem.  A Microsoft support rep said that it is most likely a virus.  I did have trend micro officescan installed at the time, however, but i'm guessing some viruses can get past your security.
The only change I can remember is installing MSI Afterburner.  I may have downloaded a thing or two, but only used trusted sites to download from (Cnet, Opera, sourceforge).
As a last resort, I tried to used Darik's Boot and Nuke using a USB drive that I used Universal USB Installer with to put the DBAN iso on there... Read more

I've recently reinstalled Windows 7 (32-bit Ultimate). It seems there is some problem with 3D stuff on any OS I try. After the setup, when it was checking the video performance it crashed as well. And now every time I try to run that program which gives you system's rating in Win7 it crashes within a few seconds (on Running Direct3D Aero Assessment). If I try to play any games it crashes almost immediately as well but other than that everything seems to be working perfectly fine. I can watch movies and browse the internet on Chrome for hours (weirdly it crashes on Firefox after some time...) I had the same problem on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Windows Vista Home Premium x32 as well... And all Event Viewer is showing is that ID 41 Error which doesn't really tell anything. :/ Before all these Vista and Win7 installations I used Windows XP and it seemed to be working pretty good but it would crash on certain games too. I've tried changing back to XP but everytime I try to install it I get a BSOD telling me to run checkdisk (I've used 2 different CDs to try and install it because I thought maybe some files on my CD were corrupt or something but I got the same BSOD). I ran chkdsk and it didn't find any problems. I'm not really good with computers so if anyone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it because I'm starting to lose my mind here. :|

I would try to correct the error by running sfc /scannow, if that doesn't fix the problem you may have other file corruption/manifest issues; check the log located in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Another possibility would be to uninstall/reinstall KB3035583. Disabling the GWX associated tasks in Task Scheduler is a bit of a problem, see this post for the gory details.

Me? I'd just uninstall KB's 2952664 & 3035583, hide them & be done with the Win 10 upgrade nuisance.

Something seems to be funny with win8 and the intel storage driver.
I don't know the details.
Station-Drivers: le site de drivers, bios, firmwares avec un forum d'aideThere is an intel storage driver with patch.
Asus recommends not to uninstall the intel storage driver.

For me this means: when you don't have it, don't install it.
When you need it, such as for raid, keep up with the latest intel drivers.
Be careful with uninstalling it.

Personally, my practice has been not to install it any more, as it has caused only hardship for me.

I've been having problems listening to music on windows media player and watching flash videos. The playback is choppy (sometimes gets stuck and generally bounces around) but also my system seems to take an age to start up and is slow.

I've run disk-defragmentor, scandisk, spybot, adaware, AVG etc. But no luck.

This has come about since I've put about 20GB of music onto my laptop (I still have around 47GB of 70GB free). However, when Windows Media Player is not open the system still runs slowly and I have no luck running flash videos.

The only possible solution I can think of is deleting the music but I'm a bit hesitatant to do so because it took me ages to put it on!

Anyway, thanks very much for any help you can give me!

So I'm on my entirely new PC with Windows 7 and it's great, except for one thing. Whenever I view a video like the one here: I get a weird issue. If I watch it regularly, it's fine. If I go full screen, it will cause the screen to go blank and the computer to lag horrendously slow. I've tried going into Task Manager to see if anything is going on (took 2 minutes), but I can't find anything out of the ordinary. CPU usage is high, but not 100% and nothing else is giving errors. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of of this issue or what might be causing it. The screen basically goes black, and flickers every once in a while. I have to hard boot each time. The only videos that don't have this problem are YouTube.

My laptop tild with an BSOD now and then, I somehow pinpointed the problem to the AudioEndpointBuilder service after the sound stop working, so I disabled the service but now I don't have any sound (as expected). It hasn't resolved all the BSOD problem but now aren't that frequent.

I have ran sfc /scannow (attached), found some files are corrupted that windows can't repair it. Also chkdsk with no results. I checked out the official iso of windows for the files to replace them but I can't find them. I tried to reinstall windows and the installation ended with "corruption of the installation files" error (lol, Im installing with an USB and the iso have the md5 correct, used official iso, there are in some other post in 7forums, same version as installed and the usb helper of the microsoft shop) so even that I can't do to repair my pc.

I will include the BSOD as the sticky post suggest.

Thanks for any help

I check my Task Manager every time I hear those sounds and wmplayer.exe or wmpnscfg.exe are the ones taking up resources. I try to end the processes but they keep reappearing a few minutes later. We have IE 6. Say a user goes to The ad on the right is a Flash object. Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it. It's quite annoying. Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player 9, but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player 8 as well. Other systems don't have the problem. I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed.

Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first, but users later complain again. Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player 9 again, because sites ask for it. I don't believe I've seen this on any XP systems at all, including my own, but most of our users have Win2K.

Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it?

Answer:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V.

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

I noticed that whenever this happens to both speakers and headphones that windows media player files don't play.It just loads forever and eventually says "server execution failed".

Hey it's me again. Thank you for the help before, that solved my BSOD problem for quite a while. Now however I'm having a new problem, and I'm not really sure what is the cause of it or how to go about even looking up a fix for it. For the past few weeks now I've been having programs randomly crash on me. Like I'll be playing a game and in the background Windows Explorer, Microsoft Security Essentials, Steam, Ventrilo, Skype, etc. will just randomly crash on me. It's become quite annoying so I figured it was time to ask. I've only ever had one BSOD during all this and it was a system_service_exception. Any idea what could be causing this to happen and what I could do to fix it?

I've recently had to get rid of the new antivirus trojan about two or three days ago, I managed to fix the .exe file problem and eveyrthing seemed to be running fine.

Now my "windows explorer" keeps crashing, and I think it is to do with pop ups as it seems to only happen when I have my internet connected and it tends to happen just before or after my internet bring up some random website. These websites appear when I try and access a website, not just on their own like pop-ups usually do. And they tend to be search sites. Now I have a firewall, pop-up blocker and internet security etc. So I'm not sure how else to stop this from happening. The security software I have is Norton if that's any help, and it's the recent version as I've just updated and renewed my subscription for it. I also have the utilities software which is takes cookies and other temporary files off the computer as I thought it could have something to do with that.

Granted it isn't exactly a serious problem, I'm just worried incase it ends up developing into one. At the moment it's generally just very irritating.

I don't think there's anything else I can say that might help, so if someone has any insight to stop this properly I'd really appreciate it.

Also, originally it was crashing and had to be reset, I'll admit it's started to manage to fix itself without resetting the whole computer but it is still irritating.
Another add to this, seems like my phising filter is being knocked off ... Read more

I get a message when viewing certain web pages that I need to install Adobe Flash Player. I install it, restart the browser and/or restart the computer and get the same message again to install Flash Player. The result is the same with IE7, FireFox and Chrome.

I've installed Adobe Flash Player several times. Finally, I found a site from which I could download the installer and run it from my desktop. That didn't help either.

I have disabled antivirus and all internet security programs. I also recently formatted the only partition on the only hard disk, restored the computer to its original factory configuration due to malware infestation. I am certain there is no malware involved. I also enabled scripting in IE7.

Answer:Installed Flash Player and still getting messages to install Flash Player

Check your current version of Flash, assuming there is one, by going to this page; Unless your 'restoration' has left you with a really old version, you may have to run the Adobe uninstaller first (unless you have already!);

This will remove the Flash plugin from every browser you have installed, so you will have to reinstall the Active X version for IE and the non Active X one for the others. These links work for me if I use the relevant browser to d/l them, but if I click on the IE link using Opera, I get the version for Opera;

IE : (read the installation instructions carefully)

Hello to all of members!
Please, help me on with solving my problems with Adobe Flash Player
First of all - I have an old computer with Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32-bit) with SP2 (the reason, why I don't want to install a SP3, is that my computer is old and it will take half a day); I'm also using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.
The problems - when I'm finishing installation of FP9, it always ends up with errors of internet explorer (like "send an error to Microsoft or no"); I also can't view Flash content on different sites (what ends up with a same errors)... but, I DO can view YouTube content (videos).
Maybe it's all because of my Anti-Malware protection software, but I'm not sure, if I can configure it correctly. Please, help me on with this one and I will be very thankful for that!
Thank you, guys!
P.S. Just imagine a web browsing without all that flash content (plus - errors with IE7 shut downs)...

Answer:Flash Player problems! Cant view Flash Player content!

If you uninstalled a version of the Adobe flash plugin with Add/Remove there could be some traces left behind. Adobe provide an uninstaller which you run, reboot and then reinstall the plugin. Have a look here (and note the info for IE users): (Note that this uninstaller will remove the flash plugin from all browsers installed on the system so, if you have Firefox, Opera or Netscape, you will have to reinstall their version of the plugin as well).

If you don't have it handy, here's the link for the Active X version of the plugin (I think you have to be online while it installs, check the instructions before you start);

This is sort of 2 issues that I think might be the same root problem.

The issue began when I was playing a game called Project Spark. For some reason, it kept saying it couldn't connect to the servers, and I hadn't played in about a month so I decided maybe it needed an update. It did, so I updated it and tried starting it, but it fails to start. It stays stuck on the "Updating Files 0/55" screen for a long time. I left it open for 30-60 minutes already and it hasn't started or even increased. It worked perfectly fine before I updated it, it just couldn't sign in to the server.

Now, for what I think is the root of the issue. I checked the Games application, as in Windows Xbox Live Games, and it also needed an update so I updated it. Now when I click the Games tile, it loads for about 5 seconds and then freezes. Sometimes it stays frozen until I close it and sometimes it closes itself, but it usually resets and then freezes again in a loop. The one time it actually almost loaded, I noticed it said it couldn't sign in. When I opened the Charms tab in it, it said "Gathering information from Games..." and then after a while it simply told me "Can't get info about Games right now" without any other option.

Could anyone help me figure out why the Games tile crashes when it starts? And (possibly) in extension help me figure out why Project Spark doesn't start? It seems to me like it's an issue with signing in but I have no idea why. I'm signe... Read more

I'll start with some history first. The computer was build two weeks ago and when I 1st built the computer I was getting a random reboot that was caused by a Kernel power error. I slowly increased the voltage being supplied to the ram and this problem went away.

I was then getting random application crashes; mostly in IE9 and in Eveonline. At the time I had Norton Internet Security 2012 installed. After one crash; Norton kept popping up errors in trying to load. After dealing with Norton's customer support I decided to go ahead and just do a fresh install of Windows 7.

I did the fresh install as a clean install and started to install all the windows 7 updates. After the clean install; I started to get BSOD's again (NTFS_FILE_System; PFN_LIST_Corrupt; KMODE_Exception_Not_Handled; SPECIAL_Pool_Detected_Memory_Corruption). These were solved by slowly raising the memory voltage. I found out my model motherboard seems to undervolt the memory for some reason.

I've also ran driver verifier and it threw one bsod; which was caused by a Norton Internet Security driver. I went ahead and uninstalled NIS (used the uninstall and then ran Norton's removal tool).

I've not had any BSOD's since; but I'm still getting random application crashes. I would say that most of the crashes have been in IE9; but tonight I started getting some MMC crashes while in Event viewer.

The IE9 Crashes have been:

I have a HP Pavilion dv6t 7000 quad edition with i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 8 gb RAM and a nvidia 650 m gt, running Windows 7 64 bit edition.
I got the laptop last week, but didn't get to test it or anything because of the hurricane.

I have installed all windows update, updated all drivers and such.

Whenever I run a game with 3D application, my computer freezes up and the sound loops. At first I thought it was the game's fault, but it happened with both Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2, so I thought it was a drivers issue.

I first installed the Windows Update graphic drivers, that didn't work, so I reformatted and installed official nVidia drivers. That didn't work either, so I reformatted again, and installed the official HP drivers by scanning my computer for the correct ones.

Then I proceeded to think that it was a overheating issue, and so I downloaded FluidMark and ran the program. It was ok for a minute or two, then crashed. I ran it again, and made note that it crashed around 56 degrees. I ran it again (using different settings) and it crashed around 56 degrees (Celsius(is 56 degrees Celsisus considered hot?)).

I have no idea what else to look for, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If it is an overheating issue, can I fix it myself, or will that void my warranty.

If I can fix it myself, can anyone give me some pointers?

If you need any further information, just ask.

I am new to Windows XP. I have a strange problem with different behavior from an application for different users. Details:

Windows XP Home edition with Media Center Edition SP2 (2002)
Dell Inspiron 9400 E1705, Intel Core 2 Duo 5200

I have several users; one administrator, four limited access users I created at startup, and two new users.

The problem is that an application, EasyChild (a child management tool ) runs fine for the admin and 3 of the older user accounts. For one user account, it wouldn't run and gave an error message (below). So I thought I'd just create a new limited user for myself and get rid of the nonfunctioning one. Well, the program doesn't run for the new user either.

The program is installed in it's default directory in c:\programfiles\bms

I've tried repairing the program as well as uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck.

Likewise, there is a game, Port Royale, that will work for the older users but not the new user (gets hung up after the introduction and right before starting play). This was a program I installed from the administrator to C:\programs, but it didn't work for the limited access users; so I dragged it to the shared documents folder [I'm using simple sharing here] and it works for the same 3 users and not for the 4th old user or new users.

Other programs, such as Windows Media Player 11, will run in all users when launched from the common desktop icon.

I've since deleted the ... Read more

I was going to ask EA this, but their support contact form doesn't seem to work.

I used to play the Sims 2 on my pc. The pc was slightly underqualified, but besides slow gameplay it seemed to work fine. I had all the expansions save for University installed.

All of a sudden when I was playing it seemed to freeze, and a popup saying 'This application has crashed, application will not terminate' popped up. This happened around the time that I upgraded my pc with additional RAM and when I installed Free Time. I didn't know if it was the problem of either those things.

I still kept playing, but after a while I could only play for about 5 minutes before it popped up again. Then, I decided to play with an older lot that I created before the installation of Freetime. Strangely, I was able to play in that lot for hours and I never got that popup. The popup only came up during the actual game play, so not during CAS, or building etc.

I recently bought a new laptop. It's a special gaming laptop and it has really good specs, so I decided to buy it, mainly because I play the SIms 2 a lot. (See DXDiag). I installed all the expansion (including university), so now I have all the expansions+stuff packs on this laptop. I also copied all the custom content from my computer to my laptop. The installation went fine, and in the beginning everything seemed to run smoothly.

That was mostly due to the fact that I was building a lot more and creating families than acutal... Read more

I have a Dell Dimension 4700. Recently, whenever I opened ANY application, Windows crashes and I have to hold in the power button to shut it off. This does not occur in safe mode. What's very odd, is that if I do a system restore in safe mode it works again, however if I reboot the computer it starts acting up again, and I didn't install anything new. Sometimes, it freezes on the Dell screen, and I have to reboot about 3 times in order for it to come up with an error about previous attempts failed at checkpoint Ihtr, and I have to boot into a recovery console and rewrite the MBR in order for it to start again. I seriously have no idea anymore.

Should I uninstall Macromedia Flash Player in the "add/remove" section of control panel if I have Adobe Flash Player 10 active X already installed as well? This is they do they perform the exact same function?

Answer:Both Adobe Flash Player & Macromedia Flash Player?

Macromedia was purchased by Adobe.
Before you remove it, find the Macromedia folder and right click the exe, if you see one, check the properties to see what version it is.

It might simply be an old version of flash from before Adobe purchased it.

I'm not sure if removing/uninstalling Macromedia flash will break anything, like an old game you might run.
So my advice is to copy everything from the Macromedia folder before you uninstall it. If something is broken, put it back exactly where it was. Be sure you right down the full path of the folder.

Ok, so I had a nasty virus on my computer that caused me to reinstall Windows XP Pro. After reinstalling, I had to run HiJack This in order to get rid of pop-ups, winnet, and comwiz.

However, since reinstalling XP Pro, Windows Media Player 9 will not work. The program will not even open. Everytime I click on it to open, I receive the message: "An Internal Application Error has Occurred" and that's it, nothing else. I click OK, and the program never loads.

I read through the other threads with the same problem, but nothing has worked. I cannot restore because since the reinstallation, WMP 9 has never worked. I tried uninstalling WMP, but it is virtually impossible. I tried reinstalling WMP, same problem arises.

What can I do in order to get WMP to work?

Hello BlacknTan and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's possible you might have had a damaged or corrupt install of Adobe Flash. Sometimes those things happen for no apparent reason. Suggest you use the official Adobe Flash uninstaller and follow the instructions exactly. Once you've verified Flash has been completely removed, try installing a fresh copy. Don't forget to uncheck any unwanted add-ons like browsers, toolbars, etc.

FYI, I'm good to go as far as running it online is concerned, the app in Firefox is active. I simply can't run it in the laptop itself. Any ideas fellows?

BTW, I did search the forum and no help was found.

Answer:.flv/Flash Player/Windows 8.1

Thank you and I am D/Ling Shark007's free Advanced Codecs for Windows 8.1 now and will install them. I will watch out for those files and let you know how it works.

I use to run the VLC player in my old puter. In this case, however, I was just wondering why the darned AFP isn't working?

Hey all,
New to the forums... I was told to join because there's a lot of smart folk here.

I'm really at a loss here. I recently gave my GF my old machine and we've had nothing but problems. First, she started getting the hyper transport sync flood error which is due mostly to an issue with the speeds on the motherboard bridges. I tried rectifying that with various solutions like changes voltages on the bridge etc. It continued to happen.

So what I decided to do a few days ago is replace the MB with a new one. I went to Micro Center and purchased a micro ATX board, which is all she really needs. The only components on the board is my old GeForce GTX 460 1GB, and 8 gigs of memory (4 gigs each). She's using onboard sound, and we're using one hard drive and one CD drive. So, pretty basic setup.

A few days ago, I formatted the drive and re-installed Windows 7. The thing was running fine all week with the new board, but this morning she started running into issues again. The thing would re-start on it's own. She said it crashed and hit the MB flash screen. However, it didn't state that she received an error. When she got back into Windows, the mouse shape had changed to an odd, fuzzy arrow and the machine lagged every few seconds while trying to move the mouse around.

This also happened before. The only other difference is that we only have one system fan in addition to the CPU fan. However, I do have the side off the case at the moment. We need to re-visit Micro Center to... Read more

Answer:Windows 7 Crashes to MB flash screen - Mouse lag upon reboot

Hello and welcome John mate have you tried sfc and chkdsk if not give them a burl first up. Then if the hard drive is old then maybe test it out with the appropriate site test say for example the thing is a Seagate then Seatools for Windows etc etc .

The other one you ca use is the surface yest with Partition Wizard for physical damage.
