I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Guys,

Helping some people who can't afford MS Office and are looking for an alternative. Softmaker's Free Office boasts the fastest loading time of the competition, and outstanding compatibility with MS Office going from opening modern Office 2016 files back to legacy Wordperfect!

I have some questions about the Softmaker's Free Office:

1.) Can envelopes be printed?

2.) How often does Free Office Update and what are the options for updating?

3.) How do you change each program to save to it's Microsoft Office equivalent be default?

One promising tagline in SSuite Office?s homepage is No Java and No Net. Why is this important? It means that the software runs perfectly on older PCs
1)SSuite Office - The Fifth Element:
This office suite introduces some new innovative concepts in interface design and user-friendly application interaction. You get instant system access, top class application design and a cleaner desktop to name a few. The graphical-user-interface has been made into a more iconic-toolbar, mouse centric type of interface. This increases user-interaction speed and user productivity. SSuite Office offers, aside from these three usual applications, its own email application called My EZmail, a browser, and a database called MonoBase.
It includes seven dictionaries for spell schecking: American, British, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish, and German.
SSuite Office is compatible with all MSOffice documents thus preserving existing and valuable documents. Can anyone tell me if I were to buy the stand alone full Outlook 2007 if it would have any additional features or functions not present in the academic version of Office Suite?
I am starting to be a heavy Outlook user and was wondering about that.

Answer:MS Outlook Full Stand Alone vs Office Suite?

Hi MT

Need to compare the versions here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX101635841033.aspx

as different ones have differing office applciations, the one that covers all is Ultimate, but thats at a price! if you can get academic version from your school/uni/workplace then look into if they also supply Enterprise version at a cut down price, some do, where I work we have open licence with MSFT for Office and get 2007 Enterprise for roughly $14

We have it on 2 of the 3 computers we have and it doesn't seem to be compatible with Word as it is said to be. When my daughter attaches her assignments to her professor it doesn't work.

It is on a refurbished Dell ( XP PRO Interl® Celeron® CPU: 2.40 GHZ, 2.39Ghz, RAM: 504 MB).

What might I try to get these programs to sync?

Thanks so much!

Answer:compatibility of "open office" suite and Microsoft Office Suite?

Hello alpad,

When she saves the document to send to the professor, which format is she saving it in? If she saves it as the default .odt, Word won't be able to open it. In the small window by "Save as Type" she needs to click the arrow to cause the drop down menu to come up, then select the proper Word version to save it as. My version of Open Office has the following MS Word options:

MS Word 97/2000/XP (.doc)
MS Word 95 (.doc)
MS Word 6.0 (.doc)

There is also an XML version. The latest version of Open Office, version 3, is also compatible with MS Word 2007; however, I don't know how that appears in the drop down menu as I don't yet have that version of Open Office.

Once she has chosen the proper Word format, then she needs to save the document. This is the version she should submit to the professor.

Does anyone have any experience with Kingsoft's office suite (the free one)?

I was downloading Foxit's pdf reader the other day and noticed they appeared to be offering a Foxit office suite on their site. Digging a little deeper, I noticed it was basically the Foxit pdf reader bundled with a Kingsoft developed office suite. I went over to Kingsoft's site for a more direct look and liked that the suite weighed in at less than 40mb (compared to the 200 or so for the more feature rich Libre Office I usually use). I figured it must be a pretty lean and nimble package and that has a certain appeal to me. That said, I'll admit that I raised an eyebrow when I saw that Kingsoft was based way out in Hong Kong, China.

Just curious as to whether anyone has used any Kingsoft software and could weigh in with some quick opinions.

Answer:Anyone used Kingsoft's office suite (free)?

I've used it. There is a button on the main screen that ask you to switch to the paid version but otherwise it's fully featured and very similar to Word 2003.

Answer:Microsoft Office Suite - Another Free Alternative

Good UI, but too much quirks.

First: It's only available in English and Chinese, and changes regional settings while launching (that creates problems for other apps).

Compatibility with Microsoft Office is better than that of LibreOffice / OpenOffice, but still far away from being considered good: I couldn't open several docx files, had problems opening password-protected, or larger documents, many that could be opened had screwed up formatting.

As Word (doc, docx), Excel (xls, xlsx), and PowerPoint (ppt, pptx) represent the global standard office formats, a good alternative should be able to interoperate properly. Kingsoft isn't, LibreOffice is even less, OpenOffice isn't at all.

I see only one alternative office suite which is seamlessly compatible, and that's SoftMaker Office by German developer SoftMaker. This has fantastic import and export filters compared to all others, is very feature-packed, and makes Microsoft Office dispensable. They also offer a lite version of a full-fledged office suite for free, try it out:

freeoffice.com

It has the same brilliant import and export filters like SoftMaker Office; in contrast to Kingsoft Office, you can change UI language, and can download dictionaries in nearly all languages of this planet, it doesn't change regional settings when launching, it's usable portably from flash drive. Try it out.

Hello all, the entire Office 2003 suite one day looks old like 2000 or Windows 2000 icons in general.

Does anyone know why this happened and how it could be fixed?

Thanks.

Answer:Entire Office 2003 suite looks like Office 2000

This had happened to me once but in office 2007. It happened when I tried to open an older file type so It went into compatibility mode, which also changes the layout.

Not sure if its the same thing with office 2003 but go into options, advanced, and see if you can find something like compatibility options or layout.

Anyway if its not their your looking for some kind of option like that so snoop around all the options, views, and windows menus.

Hi there
it's in the Ms store already -- although IMO I'd stick to Office 2010 if I were you.
Anyway YMMV so here's the link (UK store) .

Microsoft Store United Kingdom Online Store - Office Suites

What you'd do to get the upgrade price I don't know but Office 2013 IS available for download. Try phoning / emailing -- actually a better option these days is to use a FAX believe it or not for this type of question. Emails tend to get lost as people have 100'000's to deal with, phone calls are diabolical --endless menu systems, loads of waiting and people on the other side of the planet who are incredibly difficult to understand.

The lowly fax machine when it chatters into life usually gets INSTANT attention these days . !!

Hi there
If you are looking for a good alternative to MS office I suggest you try KINGSOFT (or WPS now) Office -- even the EXCEL seems to be reasonably compatible with Ms OFFICE. I haven't tried comparison with EXCEL 2013 but it doesn't have problems with some of my quite complex OFFICE 2007 spreadsheets and the OFFICE 2010 stuff I've tested works fine too.

http://www.ksosoft.com/product/office-free.html

There's even Linux versions (.deb, .rpm, .tgz) so you can install using the package manager of your choice. It's in ALPHA on Linux but for ALPHA software it seems pretty good.

Screenshot of a complex spreadsheet created with EXCEL but running in WPS office on an OPENSUSE 13.1 Linux system.

IMO A lot more compatible than LIBREOFFICE

I was going to uninstall all of Microsoft Office 2010 Home and student and then install it again, but it will not uninstall.

Answer:Microsoft Office Applications "Featured ID Not Registered"

At this point I would try a 'repair'. Problem points to something wrong with the install (as you have surmized). Go to programs and features, right click Office and select change. then repair > continue

Question: Office Suite

I have used Lotus 123, Wordpro and Freelance (or earlier versions from Lotus for up to 20 years! I am used to writing macros in 123 linked to Freelance to automatically update graphs etc on a daily basis. Should I consider going through the learning curve of switching to Microsoft, or will Lotus keep up - is it still available? I am retired now so do not need to be quite so up to date, and only want to consider Lotus or Microsoft, rather than other suites. Any views?

Answer:Office Suite

I've never used Lotus but I've got used to MS office. If you don't do that much anyway you might consider OpenOffice as its free.If your old Lotus still works and you're used to it I don't see why you don't just keep using it.As a cheaper alternative to the full office you could also consider MS Works.

Question: Best Office suite

Hi all!! I am a newbie in this forum.. My dad has recently shifted to his new office and he needs a new office suite..As it is he's gonna buy so I am thinking of upgrading my personal pc as well. I suggested him the Microsoft Office 2007 Professional. What do you say guys? Shall we go for it? Also the price I found here http://ecostsoftware.com was ?291 and pc world is having the same for ?350 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/652219. I want to know why is there such a huge difference between the prices when the product is da same? I am really confused. Dont wanna suggest something wrong to my dad and get my pocket money screwed up..Help Guys!! Thanks in advance..

Answer:Best Office suite

I'm not familiar with http://ecostsoftware.com but it seems to be legitimate.  Yes, the price difference between the two sites is substantial, but I don't think the prices on http://ecostsoftware.com are any indication of pirated/illegal software.  If you come across MS Office selling for, say, a third or less than the normal retail price, that's when you really need to be suspicious.  So, I would buy from http://ecostsoftware.com.  If either you or your father already have an older version of MS Office, an upgrade version of Office 2007, rather than a full version, will save money.  And, you might also review the differences between versions of MS Office 2007.  For example, if you have no need for Access, then the Standard edition may be quite adequate for you.  And, then, there's an entirely free alternative: OpenOffice.org.

We are wanting to up-grade our current Office suite Office 2003 to either Office 2010 or Office 2013.  Our PC's are running Windows 7

I would just like to know what peoples opinions and advice is on this?

Answer:Up-grade from Office 2003 to Office 2010 or Office 2013

I can't speak to Office 2013, but I've done numerous upgrades to Office through 2010.  When you install the new version, you have the option to keep the old version or just replace it.  Starting with Office 2007 the familiar menu bar has been replaced with the ribbons which take a lot of getting used to for folks used to older versions.  There's a little program called UbitMenu that will add most of the menu bar functions back in the 2007 and 2010 versions that a lot of folks find helpful.  If you do opt to have two different versions installed at the same time, what happens is that when you switch from one to the other, it goes through a juggling act that takes a minute or so.  It's a bit of a pain, but if you need it, it could be a convenience.

Good luck.

I'd like to install office suite 2010 on my computer, but when I start the application; office suite don't begin... how can I install this on my pc ?

If someone have a solution, can you help me please ??

Wow, this could be a million different things. Does your CD/DVD drive show up in "My Computer"? If so, explore the disk and find the setup.exe. Then install it manually. Also make sure that you're running as an administrator. Hope this helps.

Saw this on ebay. Claims that 'Sun Office Suite Professional is a Microsoft Office compatibleoffice suite software package for Windows thatincludes word, excel, powerpoint, and frontpage compatible programs that open, edit, and saveMicrosoft Office and HTML documents'. All for £7.95?? Anyone tried this? (No Im not a seller, just interested in the excel and powerpoint)

Answer:Sun Office Suite Professional

It is pretty close to MSO; PCA did an evaluation of it using members of this forum and people had mixed reactions to it. Personally I found it good, but I don't go in for much of the advanced features. It will depend on the version though; version 6 is good, version 5.2 less so.

I have a brand new CD of Star office 6, plus the set up guide. This has NEVER been installed or registered. It retails at about £59 or so. If anyone is interested I will post it to them in return for a charity contribution. Please do not e mail me from the site. If someone expresses an interest, I will send them my home address details by e-mail, and will post the program to them when I receive a cheque for £20 made out to 'AGE CONCERN'. Does anyone know anything about this program? I've been having a bit of trouble with my office 2000 (word) and was wondering if it was worth a try. I assume it's safe to use?

Answer:Open Office Suite

It is safe to use. If you were working with word 2000, then yes, open libre (office) will work fine. Though, if you use macros or anything special, you'll have to re-work them.

We are currently going from 2007 to 2010. Surprisingly the transition from 2003 to 2007 wasn't as bad as going from 2007 to 2010. The users aspect that is.

I recently installed an update.  Shortly afterward I encountered a .dll error when attempting to open Microsoft Excel.  I attempted to repair the program twice, with no success.  Same with Word.  I uninstalled MS Office with the intent of reinstalling.  However, when I attempted to do that, I was asked for my MS account info, along with a product key.  My laptop came with MS Office pre-installed, so I do not have a product key. One hour of chat with Microsoft technical support resulted in the customer service representative suggesting I contact the manufacturer, as the software was pre-installed. I am using a wireless connection on my home network.  This laptop is my personal equipment. Anyone else have this problem?

Answer:Problems with MS Office suite

I am having the EXACT same problem. I bought a BRAND NEW HP All-In-One 22-3110. Went through all the set up phase and registered with Microsoft for the download of the pre-installed Office. Keeps asking for a product key which is not available. Microsoft blames HP and HP blames Microsoft. Have WASTED several hours trying to resolve this issue with "Customer Support" with NO HELP from either. So much for customer service. THANKS HP. Will return this POS I bought from you, advise my friends of this and buy else where. Hmmm, MAC? They have compatable Microsoft programs noe.

Here is where I'm at, when I click on MS Word, nothing opens. In Task Manager, winword.exe runs for about 2-3 seconds then disappears. "winword /a" (safe mode?) does the same thing. Excel, same thing. No error messages, nothing in Event Viewer!

Now here's what lead up to it, the user installed Office 2007 Ultimate, via a download from school website, and for some reason it didn't work. After a reinstall or two, it was completely fouled up. The program was essentially missing, yet was listed in Add/Remove. When you click Remove, an hourglass appears then just goes back to Add/Remove after about 10 seconds. I installed MS Windows Installer 4.5, rebooted, and was able to then install Office 2007, then Uninstall, delete office12 user folder, reinstall, no change.

Ran Office self diagnostic tool, says everything is Fine.

Adobe Reader 9.1 had recently been installed, and that may be the culprit, because of the way that is acting. In Add/Remove it gives an error message, can't remove, and when you download the installer, it gives an error, can't install. It opens okay, but when you print a PDF, it gives an error, saying no pages have been selected to print. Foxit Reader works okay. Adobe is trashed, is there a manual way to remove it? I couldn't find an uninstaller tool.

Found a MSKB article that was semi-specific to this problem, but did not help. I think at this point a system restore would either fail or just cause problems. I ran dial-a-fix, ran the security fi... Read more

Answer:Office 2007 suite will NOT run on XP SP3

Used Revo to uninstall Office and Adobe software, cleaned registry with Eusing, updated bios from old version... and voila, it worked. Too bad Microsoft diagnostic couldn't detect anything, that reported there were no errors with the app.

I made the terrible mistake of trying to upgrade my WIN 7 os to WIN 10! Long story short my laptop was useless after I did the download. I'm not a PC techie so I finally had to take it to a PC shop and they had to reformat the HD and reload WIN 7 for me. As you know the HD was wiped clean. Fortunately I had backed up my important files. But I have alot of documents in MS Word, PP and Excel so I need the MS Office suite.1.  I understand that because I paid for that suite when I bought the laptop I should be able to get it replaced for free. Any advice on that?2.  I have been on the HP support web site trying to contact them about this issue and, man, submitting this request has been like having teeth pulled with no novicane! Maybe it's jut me but - this site only runs you round in circles!   I found a contact HP support page wherby I fill out a description of my problem with my contact info but there is no SUBMIT button. When I select the MORE OTIONS button it ask for info to check the warranty (which I know is expired!) After that it dumps me right back into the main menu again where this process just repeats over and over. Can anybody help me to contact HP? I purchased MS Office Suite Home and Student 2010 without the Outlook component.

3 months later thru a promotion at work I was offered MS Office Suite Professional 2010 which I took advantage of to get the Outlook.

Problem is that the Home and Student was downloaded and installed and working fine in a 64bit and the product from work was 32bit. Not compatible.

I want to uninstall the 64 and install the 32bit so that I can have the Outlook program but I want to do so as CLEANLY as possible.

Can anyone help me go thru the steps?

Answer:MS Office suite 2010

Welcome to WSF.

Office 2010 64-bit will uninstall quite happily via Control Panel>Uninstall Programs, but you might want to use a third-party uninstaller such as Revo, which will scan the registry for remnants and leftover files.

Make sure you reboot after you've uninstalled the 64-bit version, and then install your 32-bit version.

I installed MS Office 2007 Pro on my then new Dell Latitude D830 laptop computer running Windows 7 about 8 months ago. I am buying a new computer from the Dell outlet, an XPS 8100 with Windows 7, but no programs, to replace my 10 year old Dell Dimension desktop running Windows XP and MS Office 2003. I have never configured nor (obviously) used the Outlook 2007 program on the laptop. I want to remove the Office 2007 pro Outlook program from my laptop and re-install it on the new desktop along with a new MS 2010 Office Home and Student licensed suite. Can I legally do this?...if not can I remove the entire 2007 suite from my laptop and re-install it on the new desktop? I'd then put a new MS 2010 Office Home and student licensed suite on the laptop...I never need to use Outlook on the laptop. Not sure about how Microsoft reacts to previously web activated suites being re-activated on a different computer...
Thanks for any help....

Answer:Move MS Office suite

If you have a license for Outlook or Office 2007 you can install just Outlook 2007 alongside the Office 2010 installation unless it is an OEM copy that came with the computer. If it is OEM you can only have it installed on the computer it came with.

After looking through several posts, I am wondering which is the best application to replace MS Office. I have seen a few suggestions, still I see nothing that will completely replace MS Office. I use office Outlook, word, XL, and occasionally presentation and PPS.

Here are the three suggested, none of which can replace MS Office.
Open Office (Apache)
Libre Open Office
WPS Office Free

Is there a better application out there that is safe? I had problems with peripherals working after installing Libre Open Office and uninstalled it, using System Restore.

Or along with any of these recommendations is there an  additional application that would provide the other MS Office functions?

All recommendations are considered and thanks for your help.

Answer:Office Suite Best Choice

WPS Office Free would be my choice. I have found that files that choke on Libre or Open Office open fine in WPS. WPS seems to have the best compatibility with Microsoft Office.

I have home office 2007 for vista, when i try to open the word or any of the other office program it pops up with box windows installer. After this runs it pops up with "This update package could not be opened." I tried putting the disc back in to do a repair install but the disc is not reading. I am at a lost about what to do so any advice would be good.

jack

Answer:Office suite no longer working

When you say the disk is not reading, do you mean nothing at all happens AND that you can't even see the disk in Windows Explorer to select the repair program if it isn't starting automatically or that it gives you an error message (and if so, what exactly word-for-word)? And if you do try find the repair program in Windows Explorer, what happens when you double-click the icon? Absolutely nothing or does the CD drive at least spin up and then do nothing or do you get some type of error message (again, what word-for-word)?

I'm assuming this is a retail version of the product and not a trial version that has simply expired (if so, you just need to purchase the retail product and install it to replace the trial). Has it ever worked on the system or have you just now installed it for the first time? Was there a prior version of Office installed before you installed this one and if so was this an upgrade or a clean new installation (and if a clean new installation, was the prior version COMPLETELY removed before you installed the new one)?

These are pirated copies of the Office program are illegal to run on ANY machine.

You need to BUY a copy of Office which will give a "Key Code" to use, then you can legally use the program.

I was working on a paper and all of a sudden, the font changes to red and is underlined. I didn't go to the toolbar to change this, I was just typing away.

I've gone to the font selection area of the Home toolbar and it seems to be set on black as the default. The underline button is not on.

Answer:Solved: Office Suite 10 Word

It sounds like your Tracked Changes is on. Go to the Review tab. If the Tracked Changes button is highlighted, drop it down and click "Track Changes". That should turn it off. You'll still see the previous tracked changes, so you will also need to drop down the button for Accept and choose Accept All Changes in Document. Then you should be back to normal.

Hope that helps.

I have tried numerous times to run update Microsoft Office 2007 Suite, but it always comes back with an error message KB2596787. How do I fix this? I've tried everything.

Answer:Microsoft Office 2007 suite

You appear to have a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop, and it appears to be infested with malware, spyware, etc..

Please do the following in it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Go here, then click the large blue "Download Now @ Bleeping Computer" button to download and save AdwCleaner.exe to your desktop.

Close all open windows first, then double-click AdwCleaner.exe to load its main window.

Click the "Scan" button, then allow the scanning process to finish.

Click the "Logfile" button.

When the log appears, save it.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE log here.

When you close AdwCleaner, ignore the warning that appears, then click "Yes".

Have a new computer running WIN-7. Loaded my Office 95-97 Office Suite. The programs run; Word, Excel.... But geta error message, " Cannot open file... File format ". I have loaded a Excel Viewer program, but can only open the file as a read only. Is there a way to fix the error of file format so I can work with these files. The files were created on my older computer running XP... of which at the office I still run XP. I would need to "edit" a given file ( work with ) on both systems as the XP will not be upgraded in the near future.George

Hi all,

I'm running an old Samsung NP-NC10 netbook with Windows XP. It has a 16GB SSD (14.8 GB usable) and 2GB of RAM. It's just for tinkering and occasionally for writing papers or presentations while deployed. I'm looking for one of the free office suites for offline work, but need to know what has the smallest footprint. Windows and the AV/Firewall software only take about 5GB, so I have a little over 9GB left. While LibreOffice fits, it fills most of the drive and I really only need Word/Excel/Powerpoint equivalents. Everything else is fluff I likely won't use. Thank you in advance for your time and your help.

Answer:Small footprint office suite

You have a few options

Use Google Docs

Use Office 365 free  Edit: I missed the offline part, sorry.

Install the portable version of LibreOffice to a USB flash drive and run it form there. Double click the exe file and install it to your flash drive. You can also install the Portable Apps Launcher then install Libre Office. This will allow you to easily launch other portable apps from the main interface.

I installed Microsoft Office Suite on computer with Window Vista, went through all the setup process including activating the Suite on the Internet which was successful. When I opened Microsoft Word the End User License Agreement window appeared with the statement that if I did not accept the terms of the agreement, the program would not be functional. I clicked the button for "Accept" and the window disappeared however, when I re-opened Word (or Excel) the agreement popped up again. I again clicked "Accept" and the same thing occurred. Is this just a faulty install or am I missing something obvious?

hi to all,

i wish to know what is missing from the ashampoo office 2016 compared to microsoft office suite and from those free office suites as well

the price of the ashampoo office is really very cheap

thanks

Answer:ashampoo office suite 2016

You ask the similar question like to ask what the difference between 7z and WinZip. They just can not be compared.
If you ask if either Ashampoo Office 2016 or Softmaker Office 2016 would be another thing.
For example, I prefer WPS instead others, was previously known as Kingsoft Office.
It's just your choice, which to prefer.

Problem: In the unread part there are thousands of Microsoft mail in there, I've deleted them but there's always thousands more, I'm talking about a ridiculous amount of like 200,000 of them, its just ridiculous, I'm not subscribed to any of that Microsoft mail that you can subscribe too.

Any ideas on stopping this problem? I believe this may be the problem of my mac slow down.

Well, since about a week ago, Ive experienced a problem in my Office programs, all of them.

When I tried to open Microsoft Word appears:

"Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

same with PowerPoint and Entourage, but when I try to open Excel it says:

"Not enough memory" when I close that window then appears again that microsoft has encountered a problem.

please help me, I have mac osx 10.5.6
