I had to turn on read all email as sample text and it works find by they have the long URL of newsletters and such. Preferred Solution: Outlook Crash While Reading Emails NOT from my domain.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have recently changed from XP to Windows 7. I am with BT and my mail comes from BT Yahoo. With XP i could open my mail with Outlook Express (including my sub accounts). With Windows 7 I have to log into BT.COM then go into emails and open each account seperately. Can anybody suggest what I can do to have my Yahoo mail opened by a different reader with all accounts included.

Answer:Outlook & Windows 7 for reading emails

You could use the standard Windows Live Mail (WLM), which is an email client, similar to Outlook Express. It comes as part of Windows 7.
Personally, I use Thunderbird, free download, and have done for some years. I like it's flexibility and available addons. There are two very good forums if you need help.
Yes, these email clients will allow you to have more than one account.

Is there any way to read emails in Microsoft Outlook I have copied them from my old computer but can't read on my new one because outlook will not install for some reason.I have tried to open an eamil account on my new computer but it will not hold it, will need to look further into this.  I have the emails and address book in a folder on my new computer, I know there is data there. Do you need to have an account to import stuff? Any ideas will help.

Answer:Reading emails Microsoft Outlook

If you have an archive.pst available you can use a 3rd party utility to open the pst file and view contacts, e-mails etc, although the only utility I know of costs money I think $45. A client of mine has used PSTWalker before with success. Wish I knew of a free one to point you to. If you could get Outlook installed successfully and import the archive.pst or your pst file which could be named other than archive that would be the free way out.http://www.pstwalker.com/pstwalker.html?g1&gclid=CPWlts6OlJsCFeFL5QodFFEnpw

Now that I have a desktop PC and a laptop I am wondering how I can set the laptop so that I can see any emails which go into Outlook Express on my other PC.At the moment, if I havent opened the OE emails I can view them on the laptop, but once they've been opened they don't appear in windows mail Is there a way to do this please cos its getting a bit frustrating nowmany thanks

Answer:reading outlook emails on 2 computers

You can have OE leave the messages on the server, but if you set both computers to do that, they will stay there until you delete them, even when both machines have downloaded all the messages. Ideally you need to decide which machine will download and remove the messages so that things dont build up on the server.Go to tools/Accounts, select the relevant one, click Properties, click Advanced, tick Leave a copy of messages on the server. You have the option to leave the messages there for a certain number of days, if you use that make sure only one machine does so.

For many years I used Outlook Express 6 in XP and saved the emails in the appropriate subject folders in My Documents.

The XP PC has given up the ghost and I have just transferred My Documents onto my Windows 8 machine.

However I cannot open any of the saved emails and it is asking me for a file to associate them with.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Hi all,Recently, after doing a big PC clean (scans, disk cleanup, chkdsk, defrag etc.), Outlook 2002 has started playing up. As far as I can remember, the problems started after doing a disk cleanup (but don't take this as fact, i'm not completely sure that's when it started). Everything seems to be fine until I attempt to read a new email. As soon as I click on an unopened email, the program completely slows down. Alt-tabbing my way out works and it seems that nothing on the outside slows down while Outlook is trying to open the email. One thing to notice is that the CPU usage and PF usage do not shoot to high levels as I would assume to happen when something slows down like this. The last thing to mention is that eventually the email will open so the program hasn't completely failed.Any ideas? Is this something to do with the clean I did with the computer, something else wrong with it or just the email server playing up.Thanks

We are having problem with my wife's email (Outlook Express 6.0) on her computer which uses XP Home OS SP3. First thing that happened was that her mail settings disappeared. I reentered them this morning, and then emails started coming in clear back to November 2009 (probably as far back as those on the server). Anyway, the only emails that visibly appear on her screen are those through 7/13. The incoming numbers keep advancing in the Inbox, but I can't find out where they are actually going, unless they are self-deleting. There is no increase in the deleted items folder number though. Any idea what might be going on here?

I have added new users on a company network (server 2003). Also set up their new email addresses using Outlook 2007. Now both the new users are able to send emails but are not receiving any.

I tried sending them an email and it was returned with the following message:-

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>... User unknown (state 14).

How can I fix this error so that these users can receive emails?

All assistance highly appreciated

Here is a good one for you guys. I am a bit stumped. It could be something rather simple.

I have a client with SBS2003 R2. They have 6 users. 5 are in the office, one is remote. This remote address does not use outlook or connect via VPN to the server. The SBS uses Microsofts IMAP connector and downloads the email to the SBS. The 5 users in house can email each other, other people outside the domain, but not the 1 remote user. They all have the same @domain.com address. My understanding is that the emails to her are resolving locally, she does have a user account on the server (not a pop3 connector acct). Should I just remove her email address from her user account?

Google found me this.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300681

I tried Method 1 with no success, but was unsure if I should attempt Method 2?

Answer:SBS2003 R2- user not in sbs domain not recieving emails from users inside the domain

Not clear on your setup...so you have 6x users on your SBS box? 5x in house, and 1x at a satellite branch that does not authenticate to the domain.

And you're using the POP3 connector to pull e-mail from a mailhost out there which houses the POP3 mailboxes?

Is the default recipient policy of the Exchange server set to this "domain.com"?

The first 5x users can send/receive locally to the domain.local addresses? Did you manually add a default SMTP address for each user for domain.com?

Can e-mails to this 6th person show up in her inbox if you check from OWA?

Do you see what happens to e-mails for this 6th person in Exchange Message Tracking Center?

I got up this morning, switched on the PC and checked my hotmail. I had received two emails at 04.00 and they were both already marked opened, I have been using hotmail for 10 years and am pretty sure that this has never happened before. If someone has my password and is checking my emails elsewhere why didn't they mark them unopened after they had read them? Can I check my hotmail login history or check to see if someone else is logged in elsewhere at the moment?

If anyone can throw any light on this I would be most grateful.

Brendan.

Hi,I have Outlook Express - not sure if its similar - but try going to Tools -> Options the the Security tab.Check you dont have "Block images and other content in HTML email" ticked. Also, may be worth having a look at "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" unticked, cos this sometimes causes probs.I am assuming you have a virus checker etc when I suggest that!

This might seem like a daft question, & the answer is perhaps blindingly obvious, but I'm going to ask it anyway! When you open OE & read your emails on one PC on a network, why can't you see the read/un-read emails on another PC. Are they specific to that IP address on that PC, or is there a setting you can change? Thanks in advance.ps, Both laptop & desktop are using Vista.

Answer:Reading Emails on Networked PC's

If your ISP allows mail to be left on their server, it's a simple procedure. Open Windows Mail then:1. On all PCs:Tools > Accounts > Mail [mail account(s)] > Properties > Advanced Tab > Delivery and put a check in ?Leave a copy of messages on server?.2. On one PC:Tools > Accounts > Mail [mail account(s)] > Properties > Advanced Tab > Delivery and select ?Remove from server after XX days? (choose as appropriate)3. Optional on one PC (if you delete mail when closing the program on Tools > Options > Maintenance Tab):Tools > Accounts > Mail [mail account(s)] > Properties > Advanced Tab > Delivery and put a check in ?Remove from server when deleted from Deleted Items?.4. Send an email to yourself to check that it's working on all machines.5. Unfortunately, Sent Items cannot be synchronised with a POP account but you can circumvent this by including your email address in the Bcc box. Then, as the mail is received, simply drag it from the Inbox to Sent Items. You will have to be careful if filtering/rules are used. The simple way is to do it manually, e.g. drag specific emails to specific folders. If you do this on all PCs they will stay synchronised.

I have just got a new computer with XP Home installed. I've managed to get my old emails (win 98) onto the new computer thanks to help from here. However, although I can see and read them when on line (new and old emails) I can only see the headings while offline. Emails have no visible content and I cannot actually write a new email whilst offline. The storage folder is:C:\Documents and Settings\Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{1C8CA9D0-DAFB-4226-AE4D-8F066A1C774D}\Microsoft\Outlook Expresswhich, to me a complete novice, appears to be a bit odd looking. I was wondering whether this would be causing my offline reading problems and if so what can I do to solve it?

Answer:Reading emails offline - EO

I've subsequently realised that I can reinstall OE from the windows cd and have done so. Now everything's working fine.

Each morning I have a list of 10-20 rejected emails that were sent out about a week ago using my domain.  I don't recognize any of the recipients (not from my email lists) nor do I recognize the email account in the From: field.  All of the emails contain a randomly named zip file that it tries to send (probably a virus).

This is an example of one of the emails.  The X-Sender is my actual email address, however the From address uses my domain but not my account name.

Is this a virus?  Is someone logging in to my account?

My Sent Items and Inbox folders became filled with emails on Tuesday and I was unable to send or receive emails until I removed several thousand old emails from both folders (which I did, then the system was running fine again as of late Tuesday). I discovered this problem when I attempted to send 3 emails with attachments, making the emails around 5 megabytes each in size (I did not realize that the recipient's system could not handle any email more than 2 megabytes - thus, my Outlook Express kept trying to send these emails every 1 minute for 3 hours until I discovered the problem). I had to delete around 100 email notifications that the recipient could not receive emails at that size and that my email boxes were full.

I corrected these problems and relocated the emails from my Outlook Box to Drafts (until the recipient can change his settings).

All day Wednesday (yesterday) I was able to send & receive emails without a problem. This morning I was sending & recieving as well, then all of a sudden, I was unable to receive any emails. When Outlook attempts to receive, I briefly see a box with the number of emails attempting to be received, then I get an Unknown Error message. I am able to send emails without any problem and my Internet connection has been stable all day.

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Have you attempted to logon to your ISP's mail server to see what messages are still on the mail server along with determining the size of the messages?
Outlook Express may be timing out trying to download a message that is larger than normal.

Can you post the exact error message please?

Hi All,

This is my first post on this site - I've been trying to figure what might be the cause of my problem, searched Google, received no help from my mail server host and so have turned to you guys.

I have an Asus F5 laptop with Vista Business and using Windows Mail for my email, with eM Client () on the same machine. My PC is a totally separate XP SP2 machine and has eM Client.

Suppose I work for "A Company", whose email addresses end in "acompany.com.au". The company's website and mail is hosted by an external 3rd party. It's a POP3 / SMTP setup and has been working fine up until I ran into my issue (below).

The issue arose around the same time that I installed iTunes after getting an iPhone (and set the iPhone up to receive mails). A business colleague did the same thing and does not have the issue I have.

Supporting info and my issue:

1. Webmail:
I can send and receive emails to / from anyone: the outside world and acompany.com.au domain - no problems.

2. iPhone:
I can send and receive emails to / from anyone: the outside world and acompany.com.au domain - no problems.

3a. Laptop - Windows Mail application AND eM Client (a different email application), neither of which are web-based:
I can send and receive emails to / from anyone in the outside world - i.e. they DON'T have an acompany.com.au domain email address
I can receive emails from anyone with an acompany.com.au domain email address
Emails I send to people with an aco... Read more

Answer:Emails sent to same domain not arriving

I've done some further experimentation and have some more information that may help identify the problem, and hopefully lead to it getting sorted.

If I receive an email from someone outside "acompany.com.au" and I reply and CC someone who IS from "acompany.com.au", the CC'd person gets the email. Subsequent replies back and forth then work OK - even without the original external person being on the email.

So it seems that it's just new emails I create to people with the same email domain as me. Why would that occur across different applications on different machines?

Hello,

I have noticed on many occassions that when people send me an email to our business email account it says something like -

"[email protected] on behalf of Joe Blogs <[email protected]"

How do people do this?

I can see one advantage of doing this because I could use any computer or mobile device to log into my Gmail account and check my business emails. Our current set up would require me to lug around my laptop.

Does this have something to do with the domain mapping options?

Are there any disadvantages to doing it this way? Will the original email still 'live' on our business server so it can be retrieved via Outlook 2010?

Any help or direction would be appreciated!

All the best,

Dave

SO I check my work email on my blackberry and receive messages there and also on my Outlook Web Access. However, the issue is that when I am looking at the email panel on my Blackberry (not opening the unread emails), it shows the the emails are marked as 'read' on Outlook even though I never actually opened them on the BB. I know it is not Outlook causing this because the settings are marked for "Do not automatically mark items as Read" setting.

How do I solve this situation? I am missing important emails since I get dozens every day, and I can't keep track of them if they are all marked as Read

I have recently noticed, whenever I hit send receive, the number rises everyday, which now has me concerned. Each account has a different amount "sending", but nothing is in the outbox. IE: account A: sending 1 of 135, Account B: sending 1 of 1020 and so on. I also read online somewhere that if I was a torrent user, that "is" my problem, but I have stopped using it for weeks and there is no traffic going in or out, and I've turned the program off completely.

I've used Outlook for years, with many accounts and have never had problems. I've noticed more problems since this 'sending' message has started. I also noticed, I was the ONLY one at work not getting any SPAM for at least 2 yrs, UNTIL, I took a few days off, went back to work and BAM, hit with SPAM. Its a bloody nuisance because my accounts are linked with "rules and alerts", so if one is infected, all others follow behind! Has one or all of my accounts been compromised? If so, can it be fixed?

Hi all,

If any of the wise windows people have some time, I'd like them to please have a look at THIS Crash Dump.

I'd do it myself but I'm unable to get the symbols working in Windbg under Vistax64.

What was I doing when the BSOD happened? I was about to run a blend test using Prime95. The crash happened after running Prime95 for approx 1 hour.

Thx in advance

Answer:Need Help with reading Crash Dump

Hi Jacky. . .

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support.

I don't know if I am wise, but I can usually help with crash dumps. My only problem is that I can't run the x64 debugger as all of my systems are x86 - except for my 18 year old's new laptop - and God forbid if I touch it and screw up her music and videos!!. I have had success running x64 dumps under the x86 debugging tools.

For info, use the following for the symbols path:

Code:
SRV*c:\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
I'll download the dump(s) and see what I can find.

I would suggest in the interim that you perform a system restore using a restore point prior to the execution of Prime95. Can't help but wonder if the name says what it is or related to - Windows95 - just a guess.

Regards. . .

Most of the time I use a BT/Yahoo email browser. Can I easily divert my other emails to my BT/Y one, say my hotmail emails for example?

Answer:Divert domain name emails to one email account?

Just set up a message rule in each email account to do that, most emails accounts let you set up some sort of message rule.

My uncle has a small physiotherapy clinic made up of a 5 or so people. He already has a domain name registered for his website and wants to setup email accounts for all of his employees. Unfortunately, he nor I have no clue how to go about doing this so we need some help.

I think what he wants is just a normal work email with 5 or 6 emails under the domain he's registered for the website. I have no idea how this works so please bear with me.

Thanks in advance,
Jaidyn

Answer:Emails for a small business with a custom domain

It all depends on if the hosting he has offers email if that's the case then he would add the email addresses at the hosting control panel.

If he has no mail on his web hosting then I'd go for Google apps free, that will allow you to setup mail for your domain for up-to 10 users Google Apps helps groups build communities ? Google Apps

To setup something like the google option you will need to edit the MX records for the domain, but I think they explain it all quite well while running through the setup.

I am in the process of setting up an SPF record, we have full rDNS setup and its related to our domin name (eg rDNS to ip 1.1.1.1 = outmail.ourdomain.com)

Is there any other ways to stop people spamming and spoofing your domain name? eg people are sending mail with [email protected] as the sender. The problem is that loads of mail server just send me spam notification even though the header clearly shows its from a server in japan and nothing to do with our server.

Answer:How to stop people spoofing your domain in emails?

Also known as "joe-jobbing". No, there isn't a way. The receiving servers would have to drop all mail from your domain if it didn't meet certain criteria. Emphasis on receiving servers, as in ones you don't control.

Sucks, but there you go.

I haven't made any changes and used to email them with no problems.I'm trying to figure out if the problem is on my end or theirs.

Hi all,

I'm having some trouble with the blue screen showing in my laptop and crashing all the sudden, so I tried to read the Minidump file to see what's the problem is from and I found out that it is a hardware-related problem. I couldn't figure out which hardware of any more information about that because I couldn't install the symbols required for that. It always gives me an error message: "INF Install failure. Reason: Access is denied".

I uploaded the crash file in the attachments, if anyone could analyze it to me and give me a hand, it would be great. Also, if anyone could help me how to fix the symbols installation and how to import it in the program, it would be awsome. I'm using the WinDbg tool to analyze the Minidump crash files.

I just put in a new hard drive and installed the latest version of Office 2007. I kept the data and archive files from Outlook 2003 so I could import them into Outlook 2007 and get back to business. However, that did not happen. It was able to read and bring up most of the data, but I am missing some folders which are critical.

The critical folders are folders that were created manually. They were used to store email messages that came in that were important. They were simply dragged from the Inbox and put into that folder. There were also folders within that folder. I'm not sure if these folders and subfolders were in the Inbox or not. They may not have been.

The way I imported it was by going to TOOLS>ACCOUNT SETTINGS>DATA FILES tab>and pointed to the old PST file.

I also pointed to the archive.pst file as well, but later went to FILE>ARCHIVE and pointed to the old archive.pst file in there. Bot ways did not reveal the folders that are needed.

Is Outlook 2007 not able to read all data from Outlook 2003 pst files, or is there a fix for this?

Please advise.

Answer:Move from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 not successful; not reading certain folders

I purchased a new Notebook with Office 2007 installed and copied over my Outlook 2000 pst file. I also had manually created folders for filing important emails. Mine were sub folders within the Inbox folder. Everything copied over, but I could not see the manual folders at first until I double clicked the Inbox folder in the side panel and then they spilled out. I would look for them in that panel and double click anything there starting with Inbox, Sent etc. Also try doing a search for any subject or address of an email you may have saved.

When copying over the pst file I think everything is copied. Appears you did not just copy contacts for example, but the complete pst file. I think the folders are there as Sub Folders, just hidden within one of the main folders such as Inbox.

Hi All,

Thanks for reading. I have a web based email which is a 123 webmail one. Up until late last week I was receiving emails no problem since then I have had nothing. It's not that I am unpopular.

I have narrowed the problem down to... I can receive emails sent from Google, Yahoo and Hotmail emails. But whenever an email is sent through outlook this outlook email not only does not arrive but it deletes everything else in my inbox.

My head is about to explode with frustration. I don't know what to do or how to solve this.

Looking for inspiration from anywhere.

Answer:Emails sent from outlook making other emails disappear

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Not sure why mail being sent through Outlook is not actually being sent. Does it report any errors when sending? Are the messages shown as being sent?

If you are having Outlook check for new incoming e-mails on your email account(s), it may be downloading them to your computer and then deleting them from the server. There should be an advanced options setting in Outlook to have it leave incoming messages on the server.

Hi Guys,

having an issue that some of the users on our domain have been receiving emails sent from external senders but they appear as having been sent from our domain - "on behalf" of the external users address.

i.e. our domain is say - roman.org
some users are receiving email from say [email protected] however, the message they receive appears to come from [email protected] - on behalf of [email protected]

I am quite confused as to how this is happening since "[email protected]" is not a user on our exchange, nor is the email applied anywhere.
Even if they were using SMTP through the exchange server somehow - our exchange only allows mail to be sent from certain IP addresses, and only allows relay from certain IP's.

Does anyone know how or why this kind of thing is happening and how to put a stop to it?

I have tried searching the net for an explanation but can't seem to find something similar.

thanks in advance for any help.

Answer:Solved: Exchange 2010 - Receiving emails from own domain?

Not even been up long and i have found out what was causing this.

Our externally hosted website (which had access to our exchange) had been setup to use SMTP to send email from the contact form on the site.
All these emails were coming from there through our exchange and using randomly generated email addresses from our own domain to send these emails.

We have now updated this so it uses a generic email address, so not to cause anymore confusion of receiving emails from random addresses which look like they are on our domain.

Answer:Kernel 41 (63) crash Help reading minidump file

This is a STOP 0x124 error.
It's an error that your CPU catches and reports to Windows.
As such, it's difficult to interpret - and the results aren't very helpful (no specifics).

These errors are usually due to:
- hardware problems/failures
- hardware/driver incompatibilities
- driver corruption

So, I'd start by following the advice in this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...-what-try.html

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

TY in advance. Please do help.

Our small office is not on a domain and uses a simple workgroup.
We can’t receive emails (pop or imap, standard ports) from our domain work email since two days ago when the company providing our internet connection changed/updated something to do with our internet connection (requiring new router credentials and a new IP address).

The STRANGE thing is other email accounts work fine if set up here (using the same kind of ports etc) and our work emails receive fine through other internet connections!
We have been in contact with both the company that provides our internet connection (we have two connections with them, one for pc’s & laptops and one for the phone system - which I've also tested with our email unsuccessfully) and the company that provides the email service. Both companies have not been able to fix this or pin point the problem.

Any ideas much appreciated!

We have just upgraded from 8.1 to 10 Enterprise at the school were I work. In many classrooms we started receiving reports of browsers crashing and freezing up momentarily. This happens most often with Chrome but I have seen it with Firefox and Edge. We tried uninstall/reinstall on all browsers, leaving and rejoining the domain, /flushdns, /releaseip, clearing browser cache, repeated reboots, checking for latest NIC drivers, Windows updates, etc. all to no avail. Then I tested the same machines with a USB wifi adapter and unplugged the ethernet cable. No problems with any browsers. Then I left our domain but reconnected the network cable just to have internet access. Again, smooth sailing. So, I rejoined the domain and the problems came right back. I don't believe we changed anything on our group policy administration or dns/domain controller before we upgraded the classroom computers. I'm not certain but think we might be using roaming profiles as well (I don't administer this stuff but am trying to help our with my limited network skills). Are there certain domain, group policy, or dns settings that we should check since the classroom machines now have a different OS? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

This is my very first post on bleepingcomputer.com and it's for getting some information on possibly analyzing a hijackthis file.

Here's the situation:

My mother owns a Dell PC purchased last year with Windows Vista 32 bit, Avira Antivir is installed and I tell her to keep it up to date. She uses it just to send emails, chat with friends, send pictures around, use facebook and watch the occasional humorous video and she is certainly not a gamer.

Her last bill showed she used over 16gb for that month, 16GB! For email, pictures and facebook! I went through her PC, made sure she had her av updated, made sure her windows firewall rules were valid, made sure she didn't have anything suspicious installed... and still, I'm drawing a blank as to what could be causing her usage. I figure she's being possibly hacked into and blasting emails? I didn't notice any of that though..

Anyway, I read I'm not supposed to post the hijack this log until someone asks for it so I'll wait before doing so.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:
If this is the wrong forum, I apologize, I'll do better next time

Yes. OUTLOOK - FILE - IMPORT / EXPORT - IMPORT FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM OR FILE - OUTLOOK EXPRESS BTW - I've never tried it (I don't use Outlook Express). You can also try Exporting from Express and Importing to Outlook, though I'd guess the above method will work.

I have always had problems doing this when I change ISPs and have been using their email suffix and also when I change computers. Can someone take me through an easy way of backing up so that I could import them to another account when I change over. So far what I have done is gone to AppData.MS.Outlook and have got a file called Office Data File, on the basis that it might contain my old emails and have saved that on a memory stick. Would I be able to retrieve emails in future by this method or doesn't this file contain what I want?

I was asked to give additional info on my problem. I am using windows 7 on internet explorer. We are connected with at&t for the internet. The computer is a 4 month old Dell Inspiron 660 with i5 processor. I recently had a trojan horse that totally messed up my computer so badly that I brought it to a computer repair shop and had windows reloaded. The computer is working fine now. Before the trojan horse I was using Office 2003 and doing all my emails from outlook. When windows was reloaded I uploaded the same Office 2003. I configured emails to go to outlook but for the life of me outgoing emails are getting stuck in the outbox. I can go over to google gmail and both send and receive emails (I just like the outlook setup). There is alot of info on the internet on how to change your emails over to outlook. I am currently using IMAP. I also tried it with POP3 but no matter what I do outgoing emails go to the outbox. I feel the system is configured correctly. I get a message that the info I put in is correct. I have no problem receiving emails on outlook.

What can I do to be able to send emails out using outlook 2003? I can send an email out on google gmail so I don't have a problem with the internet connection. Thanks for your input!!

Answer:Solved: outgoing emails stuck in outlook 2003. Emails getting stuck in outbox

In almost all cases, it's just a matter of the settings not being correct, maybe the SMTP port number is incorrect or authentication needs to be turned on.

Also, if you had messages already waiting in the Outbox before changing any settings, you should delete those and try sending a new message.

Here's the AT&T settings: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB401570&cv=801&_requestid=334567#fbid=Yg-D7qm9g7_

And the configuration steps: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB401573#fbid=Yg-D7qm9g7_
It's pretty close for Outlook 2003.

I use OE 6 on my desktop running XP pro, but use Outlook 2007 on my laptop running XP home. I cannot receive attachments sent from my Outlook 2007 to my OE 6 when I send it to myself. They are stripped off, not even showing an attachment. The attachment comes through to other recipients as far as I know, INCLUDING my alternate email address (through at&t). So OE 6 receives the attachment when I send it from my default email account to my at&t account, but not when I send it to from and to my default account. I have checked with my email provider, who has checked the server (IMAP) and they do not see any problem--the attachment is on the server. I have already unchecked all potential blocks under the Security Tab--image blocking and attachment blocking--and am operating in the Internet Zone. And, as far as I know, I am receiving attachments from everyone else in the world. I know there are ways to work around this problem, but it is irritating and I have concerns that my email attachments to clients may be unknowingly blocked. Also, I cannot receive those attachments on my Blackberry either.

Hello, I hope you can help!

I have installed Outlook 2010 as an update to my Outlook Express.

I can send /receive fine having manuallt set-up the incoming/outgoing server info etc, but when I send test messages or from my separate O2 email account, all sent and newly received emails are all going to the old Outlook Express, and not into the new Outlook 2010.

Why is this, I hope you know as I do not.

Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

I have a friend who just purchased a Windows 10 laptop.

It came with Office 365.

She has for many year been using Outlook Express in Windows XP.

She wants to move all of her outlook express emails (and sub folder of the Inbox) to the Outlook program on the new windows 10 computer.

Is this possible ??

I have succeed in getting her address book exported and imported but cannot find any info or instructions on how to move the emails and folders.

I do remember that some years back I did a transfer from outlook express XP email to a Windows 7 computer running outlook. But I seem to remember having to have some kind of special software to make this possible.

Can anyone tell me if I am wasting my time or is this transfer a possibility ?

She really does not want to give up all of her old emails.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Hi Folks

This is my first post on the Windows 7 Forums I hope General Discussions is the correct place for my post.

I will shortly be getting a new desktop pc with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. It will have Microsoft office Outlook 2010 on it.
This will replace my current computer which has Outlook 2003.

Is there a way of transferring my saved emails from Outlook 2003 on my old pc to outlook 2010 on my new pc?

Also I currently have 3 email accounts. Is it possible to configure Outlook 2010 to be able to view emails from 3 different email accounts?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Richard

Answer:How do I transfer emails from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2010

Hello Richard and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not a fan of Outlook so I don't have a lot of experience with it. Having said that, I remembered an old Microsoft Answers forum thread about moving 2003 .pst files over to 2010. The first answer by Russ Valentine should still be valid. One suggestion if I may. Before attempting to move any emails I think it would be helpful to back them up, make a system image, do something to protect them should the unthinkable happen.

Moving Outlook 2003 Data Filses to Outlook 2010 - Microsoft Answers

There's a separate Seven Forums category for "Browsers & Mail" about half way down on the home page. You may get some better repsonses and suggestions if you ask one of the Forum Moderators or Admin to move this thread over. In the upper right corner of your original post is a red triangle. If you click on that you should get a dialog box where you can ask that the thread be moved.

I have a Mac that I use at home and sign in to my Outlook Web Access address for work. The problem is that I cannot find a way to have a two paned display for previewing mail. Also, I cannot view an email (even when I preview it in a new tab) without the email being marked as read. I cannot find a way to mark the email as not read. This is an issue because we also have a group folder at my work that we all check and read the emails that pertain to us.

I would appreciate any tips!

Thanks!

Answer:Reading Outlook on Mac

Why not just use mac mail, have and have it just copy everything off the server where your message to outlook are coming from.

Answer:how do i get emails from outlook express 6 into outlook 2007?

I don't use Outlook, but I'd think the general procedure would be to:

1: Export from Outlook Express to location X

2: Open Outlook, use the import function, and navigate to location X.

Is that what you are doing?

Can you export in more than 1 format? If so, try another format.

It's also a good idea to make manual copies of all of your Outlook Express files (dbx, etc) in case your corrupt the originals during the export/import process.

Email export and import functions haven't improved in the last 10 years, so welcome to reality. I hate changing email programs for that reason.

There are applications out there designed to convert DBX to PST, but I don't know if they are required.

Answer:importing emails from Outlook Express to Ms Outlook on Win 7

I don't know of an application that will do this for you. The procedure normally requires some rarely taken steps to be employed by the computer user. Here's a reference: http://www.msoutlook.info/question/350. Or, this may be a better reference: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/o...m-outlook-express-to-outlook-HA001094387.aspx

Running XP Pro, with SP2. NIS2003
Since Virgin.net network crashed some weeks ago for a few days. I have problems with sending and receiving emails. Some emails have gone missing coming in or going out.

Virgin say its my end with OE6, but everything they say to check is correct with the POP3 and STMP setting etc.

Sometimes I recieve emails and then reply to some, but if I do the same again a few minutes later I get a pop up mesaage from OE6

A) "Connection was refused. Ensure that the POP3 server is correct. (Note that connections can also be refused by personal firewall software."

or sometimes another

B) "The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Terry Virgin', Server: 'pop.virgin.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

from which they say the error code is to with OE6 with its setting, yet everything is correct and always have been since and before thier crash.
A few seconds after the first pop up (A), my Nortons NIS shuts down disappears from the tray. When the icon is clicked on and opens and refreshed, everything is disabled including Antivirus and cannot access the Net. But when the PC is rebooted all is OK again.

I've done so many virus, malware checks etc with Adware, PcBug Doctor and even with Combofix and nothing is found.

I've added the IP of my Router to Nortons Firewall, still no joy.

I've even downloaded IE7 with additional update... Read more

Answer:Solved: OE6 and Emails probs since virgin network crash weeks ago

Hm, Check that your ethernet drivers are up to date. I know, this is somewhat obvious but it sounds like it could be a driver issue.

You might try turning off email scanning in NIS, or seeing of the problem persists if you uninstall it.

Hi Guys,

I have been doing some research and it seems that the reading pane in outlook isnt that safe. In most of the sites i visited it said it was better to turn this off so you dont open your self up to viruses. Can somone confirm this is true before i send an e-mail round my organisation telling them to turn it off.

The reason i started to look into this was when one of our users started to recieve loads and loads of spam mail i have sorted the problem wit that now but because she had her reading pane on it seemed to infect her computer but if she had to double click on the e-mail to open it this would not have happend. Can anyone please confirm if this is the case also.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:How Safe Is The Reading Pane In Outlook?

Though turning it off is recommended, good email AV should be sufficient.

And, no, double-clicking does not protect anyone. Opening the mail by any means has the same effect.

A good AV with a "resident shield" is sufficient in most cases, but the added email scanning feature of AVG, for example, that scans incoming mail, adds even more security.

The point really is that mails from unknown persons or with suspicious titles should not be opened at all.

I'm having a weird problem. All of a sudden, the reading pane in outlook went away. I've tried setting it to both settings (Right, Bottom, and even Off). Tried going through Programs and repairing office ultimate. Also uninstalled outlook from there and re-installed, but still won't show.

Any ideas on how i can get it back! All I see is the list of emails, and then I have to double click to open in seperate window and read/respond/etc.

TIA!

Answer:Outlook 2007 Reading Pane

Do you by any chance have Dell MediaDirect on your system? If so, try uninstalling it, reboot and check Outlook again. I had the same problem until I did this and it worked.
