Opera 10.50 Beta Build 3266 Fixes Windows 7 Crashes.

Question: Opera 10.50 Beta Build 3266 Fixes Windows 7 Crashes.

Not counting the Mac OS X and Linux flavors, Opera Software made available no less than five testing releases of the next version of its browser for Windows the past week. The latest development snapshot was released Sunday, February 21, 2010, and brings to the table fixes for HTML5 <video> and Windows 7 related crashes. Despite having produced a plethora of development snapshots, Opera 10.50 has advanced only a little since February 11th, when the browser graduated from Alpha to Beta. In this regard, Opera 10.50 continues to be in Beta 1 stage, with the Norway-based browser maker producing testing snapshots at a high rate, without indicating when the next major development milestone is scheduled for release.

Preferred Solution: Opera 10.50 Beta Build 3266 Fixes Windows 7 Crashes.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Auto tab stacking is no more
But will be back as an option (probably in opera:config ) at some future date, posts about it on the Opera desktop blog were split 50/50 about it.

Tab stacking
No automatic stacking
Improvements to dragging tabs in and out of stacks
Only the active tab in collapsed stacks are part of the tab order
Fixed various tab order bugs
Various other fixes and tweaks

Answer:Opera 11 beta 1145 Stability, extensions, and tab stacking fixes

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but my question is pertaining to this certain build of Opera.

In the changelog it says that the tab stacking fixes are that auto tab stacking is now disabled. Do you recall when you had this version what this meant exactly? Is tab stacking disabled by default and you can re-enable it at will in the configuration file? If so I was thinking about downloading this exact beta build to try this out, since I would really like to have this feature be optional. Let me know if you remember.

Thanks for your response, all input is much appreciated.

Looking Sharp

Alongside the regular development of Kestrel we have had a separate project to modernize our look and feel. The new skin is in many ways a prelude to Peregrine, giving you a sneak peak into the future...

If one word should describe the new look, it would be Sharp. We wanted to create a skin with clean lines and clear icons, inspired by the intuitive symbols you can expect at an airport and in line with our Scandinavian heritage. This also better matches the look and feel we introduced on the Wii and refine in Opera 9.5 for Windows Mobile.

The color scheme of the user interface is designed to not steal focus away from your browsing, but being available when you need it and clearly indicate activity (stop button turning red) or security elements.

The quality and attention to detail in the browser itself should be reflected in the look and feel. That is why we have let ourselves be inspired by high-end and professional audio/video equipment for the backgrounds, buttons and tabs.

In the default setup we have chosen to include a button to open the panels, since they are far too useful to be hidden. Also, on the panel selector we have added a "+" button to easily add more panels or remove the ones you don't use. This makes Opera easy to use for a beginner while making it natural to grow with the product and discover more advanced features for the rest of us

The New Tab button has been moved to the right of the last tab. IE7 users will be ... Read more

Download Opera 11 Beta Build 1128 with HTML5, CSS3 and SVG Enhancements

While with Internet Explorer 9 Microsoft is for the first time placing strong emphasis on modern web standards support, there are players on the browser market that have always made this a priority. Case in point: Opera.

The latest development snapshot of Opera 11.10 codenamed Barracuda provides early adopters with a much more reliable release compared to previous testing Builds, thanks to a number of stability improvements introduced.

Opera Software provided no less than two Builds of Opera 11.10 Beta on April 5th, enhancing user experience, but also providing new goodies for developers to play around with.

Opera 11.10 Beta Build 2079 allows web devs to build projects that leverage the HTML5 File API.

Ruarķ Ųdegaard did warn that support for this particular application programming interface is not at 100% just yet, but added that the Norway-based browser vendor is working to remedy this.

As far as the current Beta Build of Opera 11.10 is concerned however, FileReader, Files in HTMLInputElement, FileReaderSync in WebWorkers, Blob interface, File interface, FileException in WebWorkers, FileError and Blob.slice() are all supported.Click to expand...

***** NOTE PRE ALPHA *****

A new release of Opera 10.50 is currently available for download for early adopters comfortable with running software in the very early stages of the development process. At the end of last week, Opera software released a second update to the next iteration of the Opera browser, coming one step closer to fully-fledged Alpha. However, at this point in time Opera 10.50 remains in pre-Alpha phase, with the Norway-based browser maker offering no specific deadline as to when the product graduates into Alpha, or any dates from the version?s timetable. Opera 10.50 is developed under the codename Evenes.

Microsoft is gearing up for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which is just a few weeks away now. Today, the company released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14390 for both PCs and phones to the Fast ring.

As usual when we're so close to an RTM, there are no new front-facing features. There is only a list of one fix and one known issue.

Here's what got fixed:

You should no longer see the error code 0x80004005 when enabling Developer Mode on the ?For Developers? Settings page if your PC is using a non-EN-US language.
Here is the known issue:

AWARENESS: A recent fix went into place for the Hyper-V firmware that will that affect the ability to boot Windows Server 2016 Tech Preview 5 VMs with Secure Boot enabled. A fix for TP5 builds has been developed however, due to release schedules, the Insider Preview build changes will be released before the TP5 fix is released. During that time, if you try to boot a new TP5 VM with Secure Boot enabled, it will fail. The workaround is to disable Secure Boot during this period.
As you can see, the list of fixes and issues is getting smaller and smaller. Presumably, Microsoft should be almost ready to sign-off on an RTM build.

Dona Sarkar requests that Insiders try out this build and submit feedback. She also requested that you give your device to a friend for them to try. After all, "we're getting down to the wire".

Download Opera 10.50 Beta 2 for Windows 7.

At less than two weeks since the delivery of the first Beta development milestone for Opera 10.50, the second Beta snapshot is now available for download. Today, February 24, 2010, Opera Software started offering early adopters Opera 10.50 Beta 2 for Windows. As was the case since early on in the development process of v10.50, the focus for the next iteration of Opera is to offer the browser version to Windows users first, and only subsequently to Mac OS X and Linux customers.

The Norwegian browser maker explained that the development process for Opera 10.50 moves at a much faster pace for Windows compared to Mac and Linux, and this is why users of Microsoft?s proprietary OS will get version 10.50 first.

Just got this:

The Windows Home Server team is pleased to announce details of the public beta of Windows Home Server Power Pack 1. This public beta will include the fix for the data corruption bug described in Knowledge Base article #946676 as well as a host of other bug fixes and new capabilities. The Power Pack 1 download is planned to be available in early June and Beta participants are encouraged to sign up and begin preparing now.

Due to the nature of the shared folder data corruption bug (KB #946676) a broad beta test program with sufficient time for feedback is required. The timeline for a final release will depend on this feedback and testing, in order to deliver a fix of the highest quality. To meet our goals for the beta test we need the number of beta testers who are actively using and testing the Power Pack 1 beta to ramp up very quickly. Therefore we are asking beta testers to begin preparing in advance.

Below is a set of instructions to prepare a home server for testing the beta of Power Pack 1:

Ensure you have a complete backup of all of your files. While internal testing so far indicates that we have fixed the data corruption bug in the beta release, the whole point of a beta test is to validate internal testing. This means there is a risk that our internal tests have not detected all issues. As a beta tester it is your responsibility to ensure that your data is backed up and protected before you install the beta.
If you are setting up a new home server ... Read more

Microsoft today released its second Windows 10 Insider Preview build within three days, bringing the build number to 15060. It's only for PCs though, just like 15058 was when it was offered on Tuesday.

As usual, there are no new front-facing features in today's build; instead, the company is focusing on fixes, as the Creators Update is slated for general availability in about a month, or even less. In fact, the company is reportedly finalizing it this week, so we may see an RTM soon.

Here's what got fixed and improved in build 15060:

We fixed an issue resulting in the Settings icon appearing plating in the taskbar. This issue also resulted in another issue now fixed, where if Settings had been pinned to Start, the tile would become greyed out after the first time it was clicked. Thank you all for your feedback on this.
We fixed an issue resulting in 3rd party IMEs not showing up in Settings after being installed.
We fixed an issue in Microsoft Edge where quickly typing and deleting characters into a website?s search box while using the MS Pinyin IME might result in the IME becoming stuck and the website showing ?Not responding?¯.
Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3 devices should no longer fail to update to new builds if a SD memory card is inserted if you have the latest Surface drivers and firmware installed.

By now, if you're in the "Fast" circle, your copy of Windows 10 Technical Preview should have upgraded to build 9879. While there are more than a few changes that Microsoft has described -- you can turn off the Search and Task View buttons on the taskbar, there are slicker animations and a Notification Area that works -- some of the more interesting changes aren't part of the official party line.

If you don't have build 9879 but want it (fair warning: for me, build 9860 was more stable), in build 9860, click or tap Start, PC settings. On the left, click Update and recovery, then click Preview builds. In the drop-down box on the right, choose Fast. Then click or tap Check now, followed by Install, and sit back and watch build 9879 perform an in-place upgrade.

To install one of the Enterprise versions of build 9879, download the ISO from the Windows Evaluations site.

Windows Insider Hub hidden

The most important, largely undocumented, new feature in Windows 10 build 9879 disguises itself as an app. To bring up the Windows Insider Hub, click Start, All Apps, Insider Hub. You'll see a cross between a website and an old-fashioned bulletin board, with lots of 9879 information, almost all of which is duplicated elsewhere. At the bottom, click the link and tell Microsoft what you think about build 9879. Then, below, take the three "missions" listed under We need your help.

Today, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14393 for PC and Mobile to the Fast ring.

Unsurprisingly, there are no new features of note.

After all, the Anniversary Update is only about two weeks away now. The new build instead focuses on fixes and improvements.

Here's what got fixed and improved in Windows 10 for PCs build 14393:

We have improved the reliability of Start, Cortana, and Action Center.
You should now be able to mount iPods as USB mass-storage devices.
Here is the lone known issue:

We are aware of certain cases in which Surface Books and Surface Pro 4?s may bugcheck (bluescreen) due to a camera driver issue. An updated driver will roll-out via Windows Update soon that will fix this.
There have been reports by some that say that build 14393 is the RTM build, meaning that it's the build that non-Insiders will get as the Anniversary Update. Since the known issue is clearly labeled as something that will come as a driver update rather than a new build, this is entirely possible.

If you're on the Fast ring, you can grab build 14393 by heading to Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates. If you're not and you want to be, go to Windows Update -> Advanced options, turn on Insider builds, and when your PC reboots, go back and set it to the Fast ring.

Opera Releases Happy New Year Build Of Opera 10.50 Pre-Alpha
While everyone else in the world has been partying all night the Opera desktop team developers have decided to add a little bit of work to that partying. They are the first to release a new web browser version in the new year. The new build of their upcoming Opera 10.50 web browser is still a pre-alpha build. The two most notable changes to the last public release of Opera 10.50 pre-alpha are the support of the HTML 5 video element and stability fixes.
The Unix version of Opera 10.50 has undergone some changes as well, most notable the removed dependency on the QT libraries which caused a problem for users who wanted to install the browser but did not have the libraries installed.

Opera 10.60 Alpha 1, Faster, Eye Candy And Bug Fixes
The Google Chrome developers do not seem to be the only browser developers who have accelerated their browser development in the last year. Opera Software has just released alpha 1 of Opera 10.60. The new version sports a 50% increase in the browser?s JavaScript, DOM and CSS performance, eye candy and a lot of bug fixes.
Javascript performance is faster according to tests in the SunSpider Benchmark. It took roughly 60ms less to complete the test compared to Opera 10.50. Page load times feel incredibly fast in the new Opera 10.60 alpha 1.
But speed is only one aspect that has been changed or improved by the developers.

Well, the error message you are getting definately has nothing to do with Opera. Besides the fact that I have installed it on many of my Win2K machines without a minutes problem, the error message tells you that it is a Driver problem.

I suggest that you get updated drivers for all your hardware, especially the hardware you use to connect to the internet with, and make sure that they are Win2K drivers.

I would doubt that I would be able to use my license keys when I do get my copies as I have ordered the E full version of HP and, I assume, the 16385 build represents an "Ultimate" build.?

Opera 10.10 Dev Build With Opera Unite

The Opera Desktop Team has released a development release of Opera 10 with the version number 10.10. This release includes Opera Unite which offers web server functionality in the web browser. The final version of Opera 10 which was released not long ago did not include Opera Unite. While Opera Unite is definitely the most prominent addition in Opera 10.10 other additions have been made that are worth a closer look. These additions are mostly stability fixes and minor improvements to the Opera web browser.
The changelog lists many fixes to the Opera interface, to Opera Unite, Opera Mail and Chat, the build in Bittorrent client and to operating specific versions of the web browser. All in all a few dozens fixes which comes surprisingly that short after the release of Opera 10. Several of the fixes fix crashes and optimize computer memory usage.

My computer will crash whenever I open Opera, im not sure what the problem is either, although i have a session of different links on there which may or may not be related to the problem. It just started to freeze and crash my computer after I started opening it. My computer will also freeze up and get extremely slow after at random times, not sure if its random or not since theres no definite trend to it but my computer will freeze, no black screen or blue screen though, but the music in the background will continue playing normally and sometimes if im doing something like changing the window im viewing or the such during the freeze, it will execute that change in windows extremely slowly, taking like a minute or so but its extremely slow after that so i'd have to restart anyways. Also, Opera had a more definite crash than this, being unable to do anything. I'm not sure whether its a virus or not since I have found viruses that do similar things before on my computer but malawarebytes anti-malware and superantispyware free doesn't detect any viruses. Also, this does not occur all that frequently, for example: it doesn't really occur when im playing a game full screen like warcraft 3 or fallout 3 but it usually happens when im playing like a windowed game and viewing websites (these websites probably dont contain viruses or the such) on google chrome or playing a windowed game and viewing a manga via images or the such. I came across this article that some of you may find interesting. So far so good for Windows 7.

Windows 7 build 7048 vs. Windows 7 beta 1 vs. Vista vs. XP performance shootout - which is best?

I'm copying and pasting the intro below. Check out the link for the results.

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes said:

How does the latest leaked build of Windows 7 (7048) compare to the beta 1 (build 7000), Vista SP1 and XP SP3 in terms of performance? According to my Hardware 2.0 inbox, this is a question that you want answered. Let’s see if I can answer it for those of you who are interested!

Rather than publish a series of synthetic benchmark results for the three operating systems (something which Microsoft frowns upon for beta builds, not to mention the fact that the final numbers only really matter for the release candidate and RTM builds), I’ve decided to put Windows 7, Vista and XP head-to-head in a series of real-world tests to find out which OS comes out top.

Let’s look at the test systems and the tests …Click to expand...

Answer:Windows 7 build 7048 vs. Windows 7 beta 1 vs. Vista vs. XP performance shootout

Saw this earlier yesterday, the score card is an interesting way to do the benchmarking but would have been nice to see the actual benchmark numbers behind the score card.

But really he's not saying anything that most people haven't seen already. Windows 7 is overall should be the best performing modern desktop OS that Microsoft has ever released.

Here are some things we have fixed:

The issue where any audio playing (like music from Groove, or videos from the Movies & TV app) gets reduced by 75% for a period of time after a notification pops up from Action Center is fixed.

Non issue for me, since I don't use the Movies & TV app

Pressing the power button on your Surface Pro 3 should put your Surface Pro 3 to sleep instead of shutting it down.

No Surface Pro 3 here.

We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.

So that's what that was! It was always so fast that I could never see what it said.

Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN ? it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.

I never had this problem; for the last few builds, it's stayed intact.

We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.

I fixed that one and all the others by not using Edge until it's complete.

Source Opera 10 Beta

The developers of the Opera web browser have just released the first beta of the upcoming Opera 10 Internet browser. The beta was available on Opera?s ftp site for a day and got finally announced by the Opera team officially in a blog post. One of the main improvements is the addition of the Presto 2.2 rendering engine which scores a 100/100 score in the Acid 3 test and adds support for several new web standards to the web browser including web fonts, transparency through opacity and SVG improvements.
The changelog lists many improvements and additions that have been implemented into Opera 10 including a new auto update mechanism that allows Opera to automatically update itself. This feature has to be enabled in the opera configuration. Easiest way to do is to enter opera:config#snapshots into the browser?s address bar and hit enter. The parameter needs to be enabled for the automatic update mechanism to kick in.

I visited... download an update to Fresh Diagnose -- a really nice program in the same genre as AIDA but [I think] better.

When I tried to download the update, it asked me to *register* my email address. I did so, and then was taken to the following page...

http : //www. freshdownload. com/ cgi-bin/ arp3/

{I intentionally busted the above link so you could see the whole thing}

The above page was blank. No download. Nothing.

The page is obviously a cgi to grab the email address I entered. THAT part worked because I got a message from fresh. However, the page couldn't take me to the download.

I tried 3 times. Turned off my Firewall. Turned off my AV. Lowered IE's security level to lowest. Nothing worked.

Then I tried it with Opera 7-betaa. Poof! I got to the download in jig time.

I have IE 6.0.2800.1106, SP1; Q328970; Q324929. Also I recently downloaded & installed the patch to the Virtual Machine.

I reported this problem at the Outpost firewall forum [thought the problem was firewall related] -- three of them visited the site & it was okay for them.

I have been unable to replicate this problem anywhere else except at fresh's site.

I run WinME. Is there a way to get IE to do the self-repair bit? OR..... what do you folks suggest?

P.S. I like Fresh Diagnose so much that I went to web attack & downloaded the update. Still -- I sure would like to fix the problem... Read more

Opera fans rejoice. The very first beta of Opera 9.5 codename Kestrel has been released to the public. The biggest change is a new feature called Opera Link which offers a way to access all of your bookmarks and Speed Dial picks from one place. It does not matter if you access the Internet with Opera 9.5, with Opera mini or another browser, the bookmarks are always available.
If you do use Opera Link with Opera you can synchronize all bookmarks with Opera while other browsers obviously only have access to the web version. The changelog lists a lot of changes since Opera 9.5 Alpha including heaps of changes to the Rendering Engine and JavaScript / DOM.
Opera 9.5 beta seems to render websites faster than Firefox and Internet Explorer. I could make another performance test to see if the tests show that my subjective feelings are right.

Opera has just released their 7.5 Beta in case anyone is interested in Beta testing. It's looks way different than ver. 7.2 Changes include...

=== Major new features ===
* User interface redesign *
This release includes a prototype design of Opera's user interface, which has been revamped to make it cleaner and more intuitive. The ad banner has been reformatted into an ad bar at the top of the Opera window. The main menus have been restructured so they aren't as cluttered. There's a new "Tools" menu for items such as managing cookies, contacts, and Wand. All toolbar customizations are now done through the Customize toolbars dialog. The main and personal bars have been turned off and the most used web page buttons have been moved to the address bar. Any toolbar can be set to "Show only when needed" (most useful for the Navigation and Page bars).

* Panels improved *
As part of the user interface improvements, Opera's panels are now more functional. The Hotlist has been renamed to Panels. The panel selector now defaults to the left and is always visible. Clicking panel names or pressing F4 toggles the display of Panels (ESC closes Panels). Panels can be maximized using Shift+F4, by clicking the maximize icon, or by double clicking on the panel selector. Maximized panels act as replacements for management dialogs used for things like contacts and bookmarks. All panels have toolbars and a panel selecting button at the top.... Read more

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5200-801 laptop!

Is there a description how to create a new slipstream file with all available hotfixes at the time?
Or better apply all this fixes to the "Toshiba Recovery installation CD" in swedish it is called "Produkt?terst?llnings CD-ROM"?

Windows update is painfully slow, it took me more several days to run "Windows Update" due to painfully slow downloads.

It must be possible to create a slipstream CD with all this fixes to current date so the recovery should only take hours and not days to restore the laptop.

Preferable should it be possible to recreate the installation cd.

I have found links howto do this with a original Windows XP Pro CD for Service Pack 2.

I started this download yesterday and have installed Service Pack 2 and now it is downloading 21 updates after that starting with KB886185.

I should really like to avoid to do this next time of recovery!

Answer:How to build a new slipstream fixes from all available hotfixes?

I have solved this issue making my own image. To make this I use Norton Ghost 2003 application. After Os installation and installation of SP2 I have made my own OS configuration.

Making my own image I don`t need to make this procedure again. The image is saved on second partition and I can reinstall the unit every time starting Ghost application. Like you know the Windows make update automatically and with the time there are more and more installed QFE`s.

Now I have decided to make image every three or four weeks and on this way it is not necessary to reinstall all components again and again. Two months ago I had a virus attack. I have reinstalled the unit with this image and after 20 min I was able to use the unit again with all stuff that I need.

In my opinion this is the best and fastest way to be sure that your unit can be used always without spending a lot of time installing all necessary components or applications.

Opera Beta 46.0.2597.6
The release of Opera 45, codenamed Reborn, has generated huge interest, marking a big step forward in the development of our browser. We continue the UI redesign project with Opera 46 that has just landed in the beta channel, and it comes packed with tons of tweaks and fixes.

Reborn continues
The Opera UI redesign process keeps on going as we?ve added several tweaks, new icons and layout improvements. Here are the most important changes:
A new icon for start page customization
Speed Dial is now dark when wallpapers are disabled and dark theme is enabled
?View in bookmarks? button appears in bookmarks pop up if the page has been added already
It?s now easier to move a window if multiple tabs are opened on macOS. The clickable area between the new tab plus button and the tab menu button got slightly bigger.
Sound notifications are now turned on when the sidebar is unpinned
When importing bookmarks, items from the bookmark bar will appear in Opera?s bookmark bar
Macbook touchbar users can enjoy an emoji-enabled input field
New backgrounds
This beta release comes with a little something extra if you?re looking for the full Reborn experience. To complement Opera?s new look and feel, we have partnered with top industry artists Umberto Daina and Feridun Akgüngör to create a custom set of fresh, cool backgrounds.

Opera 9.5 Mobile Beta 2

The Opera development team seems to be doing their thing opposed to other browser developers who are more focused on the competition. The team released the second beta of the upcoming Opera 9.5 mobile browser yesterday which can be currently downloaded and tested but is supposed to be a commercial product once it is released in its final version. The current version Opera 8.65 is available for ?19 at the Opera online store and this is probably the same price range that users can expect of Opera 9.6 mobile unless the Opera sales team would decide that they had to reduce the price because of the competition of the new Firefox mobile browser.
The new Opera 9.5 beta 2 is currently available for Windows Mobile and Symbian UIQ. A release for Symbian S60 phones is planned for 2009. The biggest new feature in this version is the mobile widgets support. Users should not confuse mobile widgets with widgets in desktop versions of Opera because they work and act different which is mainly caused by the limited screen space of mobile phones.
Widgets for Opera mobile are basically one click services that either open a function or website directly. Only a few widgets are currently available including a clock, Twitter or weather information.
Other additions are a new Zoom slider and some user interface and usability improvements in addition to many under-the-hood fixes in the browser core. It is a good time now to test the new Opera mobile browser if you have a mobil... Read more

Answer:Want to try Opera 10 Beta; remove 9.+?

I don't think you have to, but it's probably a good idea to remove the old version before installing the beta. However, you could change the default install location when installing the beta, but there might end up being some 'crossover' of files anyway (like in the Application Data folders for example). I think removing the older version is recommended.

Change log

Download 8 beta 2

In the change log, you'll notice document.selection support for forms. That means that you can finally select something in the compose box for these forums and embed that selection in color tags (for example).

Also, that means inserting smilies will insert at the caret position instead of at the end of the textarea. (Finally)

However, in these forums, the inserting smiley part doesn't insert at the caret position for Opera beta 2. It does work at the vBulletin-based techguy forums though.

If you use Opera, I recommend you update to 8 beta 2 (clean, separate install). (For security reasons and feature reasons. Plus plugin support is better. 7.54u2 is just not as advanced when it comes to html/dom support).

BTW, they have a handle on the IDN spoofing.

It's a good update. (especially if you are coming from 7.54u2).

A couple of new things
Speed dial extensions

Speed Dial extensions transform your Speed Dial from a picture into live action! What does that mean? Instead of a static link to a weather web site, a Speed Dial extension can display the forecast for your specific location. In fact, we built that extension.
Speed Dial extensions are easy to make. All you need is a little tiny bit of web development skills.

Password synchronization

Opera 11.50 beta has synchronization of passwords - made securely through Opera Link so you can log on to your password protected sites from anywhere. Opera Link also synchronizes bookmarks, your Speed Dial, custom search engine preferences, notes (yes, you can take notes in the Opera browser), typed browser history and more.

The Windows panel now lets you stack tabs the same as the tab bar.

Answer:Opera 11.50 beta released

I am using this new beta and I really like it. It seems very quick but I have one question. They have a Web GL version that enables GPU acceleration but it rates much slower than this beta on Peacekeeper and seems slower in real life. I thought 11.50 was supposed to have GPU acceleration. Is this now being delayed?

Source Opera 10 Beta 2 Released

Opera 10 Beta 2 was released earlier today by the Opera development team. Users who are already using a version of Opera 10 should consider upgrading to this new release which brings it one step closer to the first release candidate. The changelog lists many changes for this release especially for the Opera user interface, mail, chat and news, display and scripting, security and network. The Windows changelog alone lists more than 100 items that have been added, changed or fixed in Opera 10 Beta 2.
Many users in the Opera forum are reporting problems with the new beta release. The developers are actually warning users stating that it ?may have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations?. That?s not very encouraging and it is therefor suggested to try the web browser in a test environment and not in a productive environment to ensure that it is working without problems.

Yet another Christmas is coming and we are getting closer to the farewell of 2017, a year which Opera was Reborn and many unique features reached our users. As the year ends, it?s also time for a very special release for us at Opera, the 50th edition of our browser.

Renewed VPN

Faster and better browser VPN
In September 2016, we introduced the free, built-in, no-log browser VPN service. Opera remains the only major browser providing such a unique service. Now, we are introducing our first major upgrade to the browser VPN service.

Moving to Opera data centers
Previously, the VPN service was hosted and operated by SurfEasy LLC, a company recently acquired by Symantec. We have investigated the best options for hosting the service and concluded the browser VPN service will be moved to our own data centers. Opera?s current server infrastructure, one of the highest capacity super-computer clusters in the world, is already hosting services such as the compressing engine for Opera Mini.

The colocation of the browser VPN service to our data centers is expected to give increased performance, scalability and balancing capabilities, while keeping it a free and no-log service.

From countries to regions
As we move the service to the Opera data centers, we are also changing from listing locations based on countries to regions. For the updated browser VPN, we will provide these options: Optimal location (default), the Americas, Europe and Asia. Locations will be rol... Read more

Has anyone used these two products together? I have to shutdown ZA for Opera to get out to the internet. Trying to add Opera9 as a program crashes ZA and locks up my NIC.

Answer:Opera 9 Beta and ZoneAlarm

I've seen that zone alarm problem with every version of Opera.

Opera 9 and other versions work fine for me with other firewalls.

The Opera team released a beta version of Opera 9.20 to the public yesterday. The new version comes with several new features and fixes that are worth taking a closer look at. It looks pretty stable to me and I did not witness crashes so far, you should still be aware that this is a beta version. The release notes line out the new features and fixes of Opera 9.20 beta. The most important features that are introduced is the so called Speed Dial Feature and the integration of Developer Tools. There have been several security and stability fixes as well.
As I said earlier Speed Dial is probably the most interesting addition to Opera. Every new tab that you open displays up to nine websites that you have chosen showing the actual content of that website in a thumbnail. Clicking on a thumbnail or pressing CTRL + [1..9] loads the website in full screen. This is actually a very clever way for users who visit a number of sites often to check if anything new happened in the meantime. Great for webmasters who visit their sites or want to keep up with news sites. The tab can be used normally as well. Take a look at the screenshot that I made below.
I think this is a pretty interesting new feature that is unique to Opera for now. Remains to be seen how long the others need to add it to their browser.

Answer:Opera 9.2 beta released

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now. Well the Speed Dial thing. It is very useful and nice to use. But other times it is a hassle.

Overall i have to say this is the best version to use so far.
