I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: How I print Custom Paper and Custom Margin

Your paper size is called 8.5x13in.
Go to Page Layout tab - Size and scroll down to 8.5x13in and select it (see first screenshot attached).

Then on the same tab go to Margins and click Custom margins (see second screenshot attached). In the new window change margins to desired size.

Hi, I need to print on 3.3 x 8.0 card stock.

From Page Setup, set the custom page size and margins. Margins are set
outside the printable area message comes up when I try to print.
From the print properties I try to create a custom page and get the
following errors:
"The custom paper size you have just defined will not become available
for selection until you have exited and re-entered the Printing
"This custom paper size could not be modified because it is currently
in use. Please close all applications and try again."
"Function address 0x4f4abe05 caused a protection fault. (exception
code 0xc0000005) The application property sheet page(s) may not
funciton properly." When you click Ok the screen goes crazy and you
have to cancel out.
This template has been used by other departments and we cannot figure
out why we cannot use it.
Thanks so very Much!

Flippress is a German startup that is currently in the process of creating a website that will allow everyone to create their own customized paper keyboards which can be used as any normal keyboard on the market with the difference that it is completely made of paper.
To get into more detail: The paper keyboard consists of three layers of paper. Conducting paths are printed on the top and bottom paper while the middle paper separates the other two. The middle paper has holes that connect the two other papers when a key is pressed which basically has the effect that the signal is send to the computer.

The paper keyboards use the Open Source software Autohotkey to define and change the keyboard shortcuts. This means you do not purchase a normal keyboard which you can use to type but a specialized keyboard.

Autohotkey is however not the only possibility to use the paper keyboard. Using an USB Adapter would be another solution, softwares that have the support build in and self created scripts that interpretate the keys presses two other possibilities.
This means that the paper keyboards should be plattform independent.

How do I set a custom paper size for LQ 2180 dot matrix
printer in Win XP. The size of the paper is 3cms. more (length)
than A4 size paper.

Answer:Custom Paper Size in Win Xp

Why the thumbs down?

As for setting the paper size it depends what software you're using for printing.

Most commonly it would be one version of Microsoft Word or another and for that when you have a document open and select 'Print' from the menu there will a tab marked 'Printer Options' where you can set paper size.

It's quite straightforward and a similar setup in most software applications and there is usually an option for custom sized paper.

Back again. *sighs*

I've got a tough one for you this time. Well, maybe.

I need to create a custom paper size for an Epson LQ-590 dotmatrix printer. Currently running Windows XP Pro, and got the latest printer driver from Epson today.

I've gone into the "Printers and Fax" window, opened the "Server Properties" window in the "File" drop down menu. In the "Forms" tab, I've created and saved the paper size I need.

I go back to the "Properties" for my Epson, get to the "advanced printing preferences" and open the dropdown menu for paper size....and my form is not there.

What the heck am I doing wrong? This is the same procedure I used for my previous printer (OkiData Microline) and everything was cool.

I suddenly don't like Epson.

Hi fellow members,

I'm facing a problem about my printer under Windows 8.1. I cannot create custom paper size.

My previous printer is a HP P2035 printer. According to HP, the driver is built into Windows 8.1 and thus does not offer any driver for w8.1. The printer is detected correctly and I'm able to print, except I cannot create a custom paper size.

I raised this issue on the HP forum and a couple of members explained that the printer is pretty old and thus there is no incentive for Microsoft nor HP to develop a driver for Windows 8.1

Then I change to Fuji Xerox DocuPrint p355db. Again this printer is able to print just fine by Windows 8.1 built in driver, except the driver just won't allow me to create a custom paper size!

Help please.

Hi gnulab and welcome to the forum! There is a driver for the Xerox posted on their site: Fuji Xerox Printers : Downloads

I would like to print my wedding invitations on my printer.

The cards are not a standard paper size but I can't manually change the size.

I can select the custom sizes in the control panel, but the button that opens a form for you to input the actual size simply isn't there.

This page from HP Product support shows exactly what I would need to do to set the page size, however in my "paper options" (located on figure 1) the Custom button isn't there.

I've tried talking to HP Customer support both on the phone and through their web chat interface, but the web chat people said that my All-In-One software is broken and guided me through uninstalling and reinstalling it.

The Phone support was completely useless and claimed that it's not possible to do on this series of printer and that I'd need to buy a new one.

Does anyone have any ideas here as how I can print this and what I should do about my printer?

I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Ok.. I'm just throwing this out's darn late hihi

I have written a 'program' (script), which will automate a recovery system for windows 7, full with a working bootmanager, (custom) partitioning, ramdisks, custom environment (winre/pe), and backup imaging , all legal and licensed according to microsoft as long as its not distributed (aka single computer [home] end user).

I decided after hourrrrssss and weeeks of reading, researching, testing, failing, testing again, reading again, installing F amounts of programs, running sysprep, MDT2010, WAIK, dism, imagex, winpe, winre, bootsect, bcdedit, you name it, I came to the conclusion.. I gotta write something up for the other poor souls around out there.

I'm not going into more details now, but I was thinking of writing this up in c++ or so and asking for donations, which will entitle support in the odd event it would not* work in your case.

However, to just test it all that it works, I wrote it in scripts (batch and vbs) which I realize now I never shall do again :P (more an OOP man myself)

I write programs normally so dealing with exceptions extensively in batch is just .... well about as time consuming as 20 % of the time I spent on R&D on all this.

Anyway, I am wondering, given I always been used to the share way, if there are people who actually are willing to donate 5 bucks or so, on a script which would take about 2 hours max to execute to set up a total personal home recovery partition system. This me... Read more

Answer:Easy Custom image + custom recovery OEM like system?

OKi.. update. I see now more how this program will work. shame its all working fine with .hta, .vbs and .bat.
ANyway, a full gui app will be present in windows 7 and lets a person set up all his wishes and desires for how he wishes ot have his recovery partitions system set up, incl. the option of other partitions to include in this.

When everything is done, a mikepe disk is created (a custom recovery disk which inclues a wimpe native application of this program ) which will run the precompiled settings from win 7 and will rebuild the partitions, all ready to go. It will also link this system to one single computer only (due to licensing issues and piracy protection.. I'm guessing the latter is easily hacked lol). Anyway, after that, it's all just some hours of installoing, setting up, and voila off to go.

A base windows 7 installation (no extra programs), will create a recovery partition of ~ 3 GB and will be redeploiyed all set to go with your own old account and password in less than 5 minutes.

If you add all your own programs etc, the rebuild can take up to 1 hour.

Still much faster than installing windows, changing all your settings, creating yoru account, installing all those programs... etc.

Will also I think add several boot options, as to recover damaged boot loaders, including support for adding boot entries and back up of linux, vista, xp any OS partitions. You will also be able to give the boot entries any name u fancy like:

I have an Epson LQ 300+ dot matrix printer network shared from a Windows XP machine.
I use a specific custom print size (W: 21.6, H: 13.95). I have a Windows 7 machine
that uses this printer. I have added the custom print size to the Windows 7 list of
print sizes.

When I print from the Windows XP machine, it prints ok.

However, when I print it from the Windows 7 machine, it prints the stuff but form feeds
as if it was set to print to an A4 page size.

I've deleted the printer and re-added it on the Windows 7 machine and I've set the
print size to use the specific custom print size; but it still acts as if it's printing A4.

Can someone shed some light as to what's going on?

Hey folks

Have just tried several search terms to try to find
a previous thread related to my question to no avail, so
aplogies if there is already an answer up for this one and if
someone knows and could post the link to save time then thankyou
in advance.

I needed to print a specified range from a MS Office 2010
document today with much frustration. I searched several forums
for an answer and many seem to have been having the same problem
with Office 2010.

Here is what I tried to print only the pages I required:

S3,P16-S3,P21 - this one printed, however it printed the whole of section 3.
Please note that Section 3 actually started at page 11 so what was actually printed was pages 11 -21 being the end of the document. Also note that this section was a lanscape orintated section.

Considering that I am using an inkjet and the cartridges are around $18 each for my model of printer, I was wondering if anyone could clearly explain how to print only the pages I require?

Thanking you.

Answer:Print Custom Range- MS Office 2010

Quote: Originally Posted by AllOnTheBus

Using a comma ends the current term and starts the next term so S3,P16-S3,P21 would try to print S3 then P16-S3 (which would probably generate an error hence no further pages printed) and then print P21.

Of course you can always Highlight the text you want (since in this case it's all in one block) then print selection.

But s3p16-s3p21 should have worked for you, I dont know why it did not.

I am trying to print a Word 2000 document that has a number of connecting text boxes (a family tree), which makes the document wider than a standard sheet of paper. (it would end up being the width of two pieces of paper side by side in a landscape formation.) Initially, to accomplish this, I went to Page Setup; under paper size, I chose "custom" and selected 22" wide by 8.5" high. Below that under Orientation, I chose Landscape.

The document is finished now and looks just right. The only thing is I can't figure out how to print it. It either prints out microscopic or if it is normal size, it only prints the part that fits on a normal size of paper. It leaves the entire right half of the document out.

What could be the solution? Thanks.

Answer:How do you print custom size word 2000 documents

I also chose "custom" and selected 22" wide by 8.5" high. Then I downloaded this & tested it a little (copied & pasted from Word). It seemed to stretch graphics vertically, but maybe you could play around with it.

Can't print custom-sized envelopes using Word (Office 2011)This used to be easy until I upgraded to Mavericks. My printer is an HP Laser Jet 1200 Series. Yes, I've investigated the possibility that the printer driver has an upgrade, but HP does not list one.

Answer:Can't print custom envelopes using Word (Office 2011)

Sadly it's not uncommon for a given printer either not to print at all, or only offer./allow some options after upgrading to a more recent OS ( be it Mac or windows). Likwise with multifunction kit often the scanner may not work quite the same way (via its provided software control options). Have you managed network it at least? Does your printer print at all; i.e. standard Word etc. documents? Also have you checked on the Apple site for latest drivers for your HP? a google trawl may bring suitable drivers... I have found HP and Canon drivers for example available on some of their respective websites; but not on all their world wide website/support... Sometimes Canon seem to have them in one area globally and not others; similarly with HP. Usually had to select each region in turn...With any google trawl do include Mavericks as part of the search words/string.

Hi all,

I've been trying to find a way to add my own icons to libraries that I make. I have tried navigating to:

And after right clicking the Library I made, I don't get an option to change the icon. Is there any way to do this? It would just be easier to tell the difference between user-created libraries if the icons could be changed, instead of only using the one default icon provided.

I've tried searching through the tutorials section, and looked through the first five pages or so of results that came up from a search here on the forums, and haven't been able to find the info I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help!

I'm currently working on a OKI B6500 for a local sports club.

The issue is: They regularly print score cards for the patrons
of the sports club from two different OKI printers, which are

set up to two different Computers. The B6500 is a newer model

than the other one, but some some reason, the older one prints

them fine, and the b6500 cuts the tops off each page, and

prints a second page with a single line.
The dimensions for the paper are 145 x 290.
I've tried different trays, checked all the settings within the

computer. Both printers/computers have the EXACT same

settings. The issue is very consistant, despite the changing

of the trays. Speaking to OKI support yielded no real results.
I'm really unsure as where to go from here, what am i missing?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I have the custom menu running for the Exit choice but I can;t see a "Print..." choice in the Customisation options list for the "Files" menu. I DO see "Print" but not "Print...".

The difference being that with teh elipsis, the choice of printer is provided where as the "Print" version just send the report to print. Grrr.

I'm using WORD XP under Windows XP Home. Recently, when I start to print a document, I sometimes get an error message saying the area to be printed is outside the printable margins. It looks fine on the print preview but when I print it, the text is shifted about 2" to the right from the left margin and does run off the page on the right. My wife found that turning off the "Allow A4/Letter Paper Resizing" option resolved the problem temporarily. After a few days it reappeared, at which time I found that turning the option back on fixed it. Apparently toggling this option fixes the problem temporarily. There may be other options that would work also since this particular one doesn't seem to be related directly to the margins.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Answer:WORD XP Print Margin Problem

You say the problem was fixed temporarily by toggling "Allow A4/Letter Paper Resizing". Does this mean the same Word document's margins suddenly changed, or was it 2 different documents?

If it is occurring with different documents, it sounds as though some were created and saved on A4 size (21cm x 29.7cm the standard paper size for UK) and some in Letter size (I think the standard size for USA = 21.59cm x 27.94cm).
The reason for this could be that you are viewing some documents originating from different countries. Alternatively, as Microsoft is a US company, I think the default paper size is "Letter" - even if you're in the UK.

The size differences may account for the margin shift.

When i try to print something, the print preview page shows a large right margin. All print jobs are printing with a large right margin. The top and bottom margins are working fine. How do I fix this?? can't find a way to change this.

Answer:all print jobs have large right margin

If print preview show the wide margin then you are printing what you have configured on the page.Could be two different reasons. Most likely is the margins are set that way in the program you set up the print job in.Second possibility is that the paper settings are wrong. Could be set for landscape instead of portrait, or the paper size setting doesn't match the actual paper in use. What program are you using to creating the print job?

Hello everyone,

PLEASE help!

About 50% of the time, when printing Word 2007 documents with comments added in bubbles in the margin, the comment bubbles fail to print EVEN WHEN I have "print with markup" selected in the print dialog.

The grey area on which the bubbles should print is printed, but the comment isn't; instead the commentator's initials are printed inline.

I thought it was the printer, but it also happens when printing to pdf or saving to pdf.

I thought at one point it was that most my documents are, though I use Word 2007, in Word 97-2003 format. But the same problem has just occurred with a Word 2007 document.

Turning my machine off and on again *seems* to help, *usually*.

Please help -- this is taking enormous amounts of time and paper!

Question: Custom PC

hey guys i need some advice
im thinking of building a computer, nothing fancy or top of the line just something to replace an old Dell computer i have.
i looked up a few components and i wanted to know what you guys thought about them. tell me if you guys have read any bad reviews or had any bad experiences with any of these

-Antec Nine Hundred Steel ATX Ultimate Gamer PC Case
-Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Green nVIDIA Socket Am2 ATX Motherboard
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor (Does the L2 Cache make a big difference? what would be better? This, or a 2mb L2 Cache but running at 3.0GHZ???)
-CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 X 1GB) PC2-6400 800Mhz 240-pin CL4 DDR2 Dual Channel Memory
-Geforce 9800 Gtx+ 512MB GDDR3 *im not sure about this one... im new to Nvidia so i have no clue what card is the card for me
-RAIDMAX RX-630A ATX12V / EPS12V 630W Power Supply * this also im not sure of. anybody recommend a better one??

For the rest i have like hard drives and the Drives i just want to know about these so if anybody has any advice or input on these it would be appreciated.

Answer:Custom PC

A lot of those components are good and will do you fine. If you are not going to utilize SLi then I suggest another motherboard. It would help us to know two things:

1. Your budget.

2. What do you want to do with this PC, i.e. gaming, school work, etc?

Question: My Custom PC

Hello,I recent bought a copy of 'CustomPC' recent and found an article about creating a PC: click here. My questions are 1. I already have a version of xp pro so should i buy vista home premium? Also i have a pretty high spec external USB drive, should i buy another internal one? Thanks For All Your Help, Dan! :)

Answer:My Custom PC

Is your copy of XP, OEM or Retail? If it's retail you won't need a copy of Vista as you can install it (the XP you have) onto as many PC's as you want. If it's OEM you need a new copy of an OS, whether it be XP again, or Vista. OEM copies can only be installed on one PC. What do you mean about USB drive? If your talking about a USB harddrive then I would get a new internal one.

Question: New to custom pc's

I just built my first computer and I dont know a whole lot but I know enough. I dont know anything about overclocking or how to get the full potential out of what I have. I have a AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600 and 2GB of Corseair dual channel 6400 ddr2. I think this thing is slow as mollasses. Anyone interested in helping me out?

Answer:New to custom pc's

1. Why do you feel it's slow? That system should be fairly fast if you don't have a million things trying to run in the background.

2. Overclocking is overrated. All you will get out of it is maybe a few percent faster and usualy a lot more heat and instability. I forgo it, and I am a hardcore gamer who can always use more performance. Performance at the cost of reliability is stupid.

Question: Custom dic

I have a strange problem every time I have a been on the internet, I have a short cut on my desktop which says custom dic, if I click onto it it does not open if I delete it it comes back. It does not appear to be doing anything but its getting on my nerves.
I will try and add a screen shot

Answer:Custom dic

Seems you stumbled upon an odd issue. Good news and bad news. Its a dictionary file related to Microsoft Office or similar but I can't find any information about removing except to possibly remove any Office items from your startup and some registry editing, which seems like a bad idea. If it makes you feel any better, it is not a dangerous file so you could ignore it for a while.

I did find this you can try assuming its an older copy of Office. It does not apply to Office 2010.

-open microsoft word.
- click tools at the top of the page
- click options
- click the spelling and grammar tab.
- click the custom dictionaries button
-click the new button and choose a location to store the dictionary and
choose a name
- click the save button
now select the new dictionary you just created then click the change default

Answer:Custom PCs

I finished my new rig about 2 months ago heres the specs
P4c 3.0 GHz
MSI 865PE NEo 2 board
1GB Kingmax pc3500 RAM
1 Western Digital Raptor HD (37 GB 10k rpm)
1 Samsung 120 GB hard drive (8 mb cache 7200rpm)
Coolermaster wave master case
9600 ATI graphics card fro Sapphire
MX500 logitech mouse
cooler master q keyboard (for the look is alui like case)
Phillips 17" TFT screen with DVI input
Creative 2.1 speaker
Lite on DVD/CDRW combo drive
Lite on 8x DVD +-RW

Thats about everything but I do have a few upgrades in mnd over the next few months, firstly to add a second WD raptor in RAID 0 for the main C: drive possible upgrade of the mother board to an ABIT IC-7 max 3 as I am having a bit of a problem with the RAM on this mother board (and cause it should make the computer faster). The graphics card is low spec cause I don't do much pc gaming and what I do do doesn't need high graphic card plus the new breed of graphics cards are almost here making the older models like the 9800pro much cheaper.

Have a look on Ebay and see what similar rigs are selling for. Then look at the components and see what price they fetch. Only you can decide. Also take into consideration post/packing costs or if it will be 'collect only'.
Second-hand goods with no guarantee do not fetch anywhere near their original purchase price.

Question: my custom CD

Hi I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can make a custom CD on windows. I was able to get my XP CD and slipstream it with SP2 but would I be able to do this with some of my most common used program. I know you can get these CDs from manufatures that go with thire system, like if its a HP, they will have thire own cd with OS and all drivers and programs or if its a tosiba they will have thire own. So I would just like to know if there is a way I can do that with my XP cd SP2 and some of my program like MS office and photoshop ect ect. Can someone please get back to me it would be greatly appreciatede.

Thank You

Answer:my custom CD

You can't include applications with a Windows installation disk. Computer manufacturers appear to do this by creating a restore disk which is not the same as a Windows installation disk. You can do something similar by using an image creation utility such as Acronis True Image ( You would install Windows and any applications and then create an image of the hard drive or partition(s) which you would use to reinstall or restore your system. This would be used instead of the Windows installation disk.

If you only want to include drivers, you would need to create an unattended installation disk which is a bit involved for the average home user.

Hey there! WittyWidi here.
Anyway, I'm building a custom machine. I want to get Windows 8.1 for it. Windows - Microsoft Store U.S. Here, I can probably see the right thing. However, $119 is a big amount, and it says

Important: Windows 8.1 full version is for Windows 7 users only. Currently running Windows Vista or XP? First upgrade to Windows 8. Upon installation you can update to 8.1 for free.

, which makes it sound like you NEED win 7 to get 8.1 for this price. Can I use this with my custom box with no prebuilt OS?

Answer:Win 8.1 on Custom Box?

Clear as mud huh? The way I read it is, if you are running XP or Vista and want to do an "upgrade install", you'll have to upgrade to 8.0 first. Then do the free upgrade to 8.1 though the store. Windows 8.1 will not let you do an upgrade install from XP or Vista, only 7 or 8.0. It states >Windows 8 upgrade is for Windows Vista or XP users. Upon installation you can install the free 8.1 update available through the Windows Store.

If you are buying the full Retail version and not doing an upgrade install you can ignore all that. A full Retail version will let you clean install on your new hardware. Assuming the hardware is compatible that is.

Question: My custom PC

Hello all,

I recently bought a new computer and had it custom made to what i wanted it to be. I have a few questions about it though.

First off i will tell you what it is.
It is made up of the following hardware:

Mobo - Asus m3a76-cm pci-ex 1gb lan
Processor - AMD Athlon II x2 215 2.7ghz dual core 45nm, AM3 2mb Cache
Cooling - Spire Kestrel-King II AMD 64 fan
Ram - 3gb (3x1gb) ddr2 pc5300 667 dual channel
Graphics - GeForce 9400GT 1gb PCI express 16x dual head, tv out
optical drive - 22x Lite On DVD +-RW dual layer
Case - Cooler Master Elite 310 with side window and front usb
power supply - Logysis 480w ATX power supply

OK so here are my questions:

1. What are your overall thoughts of this system?
2. Can i overclock it and if so how much while still being stable?
3. With the fan i got do you know how cold it will be?
4. What the heck is dual layer?
5. Will the 480w power supply be enough for all this?
6. In the picture i chose this case because it looked good, was cheap and it had lights. Will it come with the lights or do i have to add them?

I ordered it online and it has not yet come
Thanks for the help, and all suggestions, comments, and questions are welcome.

Answer:My custom PC

The power supply will handle that system, although i don't know anything about Logysis PSU's. You should be able to get 700Mhz to 1Ghz OC from that CPU with ample cooling. Dual layer is a technology that lets you burn data to two layers of the DVD that sit atop one another. Different light wavelengths reach the upper layer (and 'burn') data, than do the lower data layer...(thats the very short version)
as far as the "what do you think?" question, i guess that depends on what you paid, and what its intended use is. It is not going to be much of a gaming machine with that GPU. but other than that it really goes back to what you are expecting it to do.

Hi mankaI cannot really offer you advise on what components to use, but i can suggest click here I have purchased a computer from this company and was really impressed with it. The system itself and the service i recieved was so much better than other comapnies i have purchased from. The main reason i bought from them was because they will build a system to your specification. Like you i also wanted the option to upgrade the system at a later date should i need to. The great thing about this company is that they will allow you to do this without invalidating the warranty. Even if you purchase the upgrades from another company. They dont seal the cases so you are free to replace and upgrade any of the components. I have never know a company to do this before but think it is a great idea.Overall i am extremely impressed with both the company and the system, have a look at their website theres some great systems all reasonably priced, but id give them a call to for advice, their sales department an really good, not like typical pushy sales guys.Hope you get the system you want!!!

Hello:I am running Windows 2000 pro, with all service packs installed, including the final service pack that was issued in place of the service pack 5 that was canceled. The problem is fairly easy to describe:- I open WordPad, type a single space, then use the File pull-down menu to print a blank piece of paper.- The Print dialog box, pages entry has 1-65535 in it. If I go ahead and click on the Print button, I would need more than 13 cases of paper for the job to complete! This is a new phenomenon, as I have used this technique for quite some time to ensure proper connection to the printer and that other programs will be likely to print correctly and never have had the printer spit-out more than one sheet of paper.I can highlight the "1-65535" value and delete it, which will allow me to print the one blank page I want, but I shouldn't have to do that extra step (and the print dialogue box should not show anything in the "pages" box). I would like to know if perhaps something in the configuration files for WordPad causes this to happen and, if so, what it is, where it is, and how can I change it to get things back to normal.I did run Avast!, Spybot, SuperAntoSpyware, and the free Trend Micro scan to see if there might be some malware that contributes to the problem. Nothing was found.Since I run Win2K on of my other computers, I thought a simple approach would be to locate WordPad and its associated files on one of the other computers and simply ... Read more

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista. I have also been successfully using an HP Photosmart B209a "all in one" printer with a wireless connection. I began getting low ink messages, so installed new HP cartridges. When I try to align the new cartridges, I get a message that says the alignment failed, but I can still use the printer. However, when I try to print any document I have generated on my computer, the printer picks up the paper and goes through the machinations of printing, but when it spits out the paper, it is blank. When I print a test page, it works. When I print a page from a website, it works. It will copy a document. It simply won't print anything I generate using my word processor or spreadsheet (I use Microsoft Works).

HP's Monitor program says that the computer is ready.

I have used HP Solutions Center, but nothing it suggests has made any difference. I have checked my wireless connection and it is working, obviously, or the printer wouldn't be getting the message to print, as it surely is, since it starts, picks up the paper and goes through the whole process of printing. However, nothing comes out except a blank piece of paper.

Hope you can help.

I have an HP970Cxi printer which does not - I believe in common with many inkjet printers - print to the edge of the paper. This is particularly annoying when I use it, together with my scanner, for photocopying and the document to be photocopied is printed to the edge of the paper. I have to shrink the image - less than satisfactory when printing is already small.Obviously real photocopiers print to the edge of the paper. What printer must I use to be able to do this? Am I limited to laser printers or do laser printers have this problem too?Would be grateful for any advice here.MJ

Answer:Need printer that will print to edge of paper

in your printer properties set up the page borders as zero this should work with most printers.

I'm taking photo's with a resolution of 220.
Reducing these to 72 for internet use, all working great.
If I want to have some of the photo's printed, will the 220 resolution give me a better quality print
or does it matter ?

Answer:Print images on photo paper ?

Answer:how to print on to photo paper from email

Sorry... We need more details to really help.
What Device? What OS and version?
In general, download the attachment from the email to the device. Put photo paper in the printer. Print from the device in your normal manner.

Howdy.  I have windows XP Home and have a very basic question.  Whenever I p rint information from a website that does not have a "print version" option, I always get an uneeded last page which just wastes  paper.  Any thoughts on how to correct this?  Thanks kindly and have a good one.

Answer:save paper when print from websites

Select the text you want, right-click on it and select print. On the print screen, put the bullet point next to selection. This should do the trick.Flame

i use a epson tm-t88IV printer i install it on pc it shows no any error and get readybut when i print on it the printer moved and cut the paper but not print any documents only blank peper comes from the printerplease help mevipinder kumar

Answer:Printer moved the paper but no print

Check the manual, if you have, and see if you can cause the printer to run a self-test.  See if the self-test produces any print on the page.  Then you will know the printer itself is good.

Question: custom build help!

I have no idea about compatibility of parts for pc's confused , so i wos wonderin if people would help me out, i.e tell me an ideal set up for around 500-600 which would make a good gamin pc.

Please help me...

Answer:custom build help!

This is something ive just started getting into myself, ive just built my first one sucessfully, what i learnt is that the most important thing to choose is the right motherboard. For gaming you want one which you can put a decent video card in so you want it to have atleast an agp x8 slot or a pci express x16 slot. And one which has DDR 2 ram slots would also be helpful. And you want one which you can put a good cpu in for. Different cpu's are compatable with different sockets, so decide what cpu you want and what socket it requires then pick a motherboard which has it. Ive heard that amd cpu's are good for gaming, because they provide alot of power for there cost.

I attempted to build a computer for my friends girlfriend with a budget. I went on newegg where i got the parts to build that last 15 computers and this is the first time I've ever had this problem.

I connect everything and turn it on and nothing happens, no smell, no lights, nothing. I assumed something was broke so I rma'd everything and newegg sent us new parts. The same thing happens, nothing. I hooked up a different motherboard to the power supply and the power switch jumpers and it turned the computer on fine, all the fans spun, the hard drive powered up. Reconnected the gigabyte 945gz and nothing again.

Maybe someone could help? This is a problem that's been plagueing me for over a month.

here are the parts:
Intel Pentium D 805 Smithfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model HH80551PE0672MN - OEM
GIGABYTE GA-8I945GZME-RH LGA 775 Intel 945GZ Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
3DFuzion 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Desktop Memory Model 3DFRMD1GB533D24
Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
NEC 18X DVDR DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write Black E-IDE / ATAPI Model 7170A-0B
Linkworld LPJ12-400W (PSWB-400) ATX 400W Polished Chrome Power Supply

Answer:Custom Rig Won't even turn on

Hmmm. I'll start with this obvious thing....Were you certain that the front panel connectors were properly connected to the mobo? I once had an older case that confuse d me a bit and I had one of the power connectors in the wrong spot, making it unable to power up. Once I got it straightened out, all was good.

I am interested in an application that can create custom builds of windows 10 in a similar way that RT7Lite does for windows 7, the only application I've found so far isn't really as advanced or as customisable as RT7Lite was... I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions of apps that can do this (that preferably are free and do not require an internet connection)?
Thank you in advance

Hi, I didnt know where to post this so move it if its in the wrong place.

Im looking to build a cheap machine optimized for seven. (This will be the first computer Ive built on my own! ) And please if possible provide some sort of estimate of the price. Thanks guys! (And girls.)

Answer:First Custom desktop

Uhhh... That's kinda large. You'll get a lot of opinions on this but I'd go with i7 and a decent ASUS board. RAM's cheap so fill 'er up. Video and drives, well, anything you plug in will zoom in W7.

Oh and, stay away from liquid cooling.

Good luck.

Hi All,

I wanted to create a button in IE which will populate the text field (in focus) with a dynamically generated text (Example a timestamp like this - <Partha: 03/03/2009 12:00:00>). Is there a way to achieve this?

Answer:How to add custom button in IE

I don't think you can with IE unless there is an IE Plug-in for this.

You need a better Browser that includes this feature, if there is one.

hi there,
i have created a custom install.wim of win 8.1 pro using windows pe usb drive and sysprep generalise option. when i run my new setup and enter key it says "this key doesn't work with this edition of windows. try a different key". But i have tried all edition generic keys but none work. I also tried creating a ei.cfg file, but then it says "setup has failed to validate the product key".
Please tell me how to fix this. (sorry for bad english)
Thanks in advance............

Answer:Help: Trying to make custom win 8.1 iso

Hi Himashuk27,

Check whether you are using the correct ISO and possibly use your product key to download the media you need:

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 ISO - Download or Create

Is it possible your product key is an upgrade license?

if it is an upgrade license it will not work straight off the bat, this was windows 7 workaround although I do not know if it will work in Windows 8 I have not Tried it:

You need to open a run box and type: "Regedit"

Then located this key:

And find the one called "MediaBootInstall".

Double click that and change it from a 1 to a 0.

Then open up cmd as an administrator

Type the command "slmgr /rearm"

You will get a restart your computer messge.

Then when your computer restarts you need to open a run box again and type "slui.exe 3" and it will allow you to enter your product key and activate

Have you tried creating a windows 8 wim ?
