I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Having recently bought a graphics card for the secondary PC (AMD 1.4 running XP Pro with 512M of RAM), it no longer plays video or plays games that would run when it had a 32M card in.Have installed the software supplied and updated drivers from the web yet on booting a game it will work on all the lead in displays then at the UI it beeps and gives the error report sending screen.Yes it is an old machine but it is for the kids and has given pretty good service, any ideas what could have caused this problem and how I can overcome it until funds allow for this machine to be replaced? One of the games is an MS game and worked fine before.

Hello everyone, and thank you for checking this thread in an attempt to help me! I'm not good with computers, so any instructions/directions you give me need to have every step carefully spelled out for me, or I'm likely going to run into some problems with my own stupidity! Now with that out of the way, I will explain the situation the best I can.

Lets start with my computer specs
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8.1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD A6-7400K Radeon R5, 6 Compute Cores 2C+4G, AMD64 Family 21 Model 48 Stepping 1
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 15303 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon (TM) R7 370 Series, -2048 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 113906 MB, Free - 40771 MB; E: Total - 953739 MB, Free - 794651 MB;
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd., F2A88X-D3HP

The game we'll use as an example is Overwatch, but other games do not run as well as they should either, so it isn't exclusive to Overwatch.

This is what I should be running Overwatch at with my graphics card. I instead have a very bad stutter in game. I have had to put everything on its lowest possible settings to get 60fps, which drops to below 40 when fighting is happening, and regularly stutters to the point where I'm watching a slideshow presentation.

The CPU is running at 100% while playing Overwatch, with Overwatch taking up 35-50% of it.

I have made sure the computer is utilizing both cores.

My friend has troubleshooted with me in the past, but he is stumped. Here is what we tried.

Can any one help
This has got to the stage where I am going to dicard this card,
Its a radeon 9200 series 128mb,
I have contacted the manufacturer with no success, downloaded all the up to date drivers, changed my monitor settings .. the list continues
the problem is when I play games , Doom half Life Medal of Honour, ( by the way the PC is a 1.6 Ghz with 500 + of ram these games worked fine on Win 2000 but on XP there`s a problem) this being that the graphics flicker and you can see behind certain images, not explained very well I know but the images flicker on and off in like triangle blocks so if you looking at say a wall , the wall is there but it flickers to black triangles.. if anyone can understand waht I`m saying maybe they could advise
Thanks

Answer:radeon 9200 series Graphics Card Problem

I'm asuming you have Cats 5.12.
Does the card have a heatsink and a fan? If it does, is the fan working correctly?

If it is, then you've got a bugged GPU, see if you can get it replaced.

Hi everyone.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R-SE 7520 Laptop which has the AMD Radeon HD7700M GPU.

I'm currently playing Grand Theft Auto 5 and trying to tweak the graphics.
The first question I have is regarding the anti-aliasing.

Within the game settings for the graphics I have the options of using FXAA, MSAA and Reflection MSAA.

Can I enable all of these options together or is it only advisable to use on or the other? If so which one? I suppose what I'm trying to ask is.... Is one option a global setting which overrides the other?
The second question I have is regarding the overall settings.

If anybody here has the same GPU as I have and plays GTA 5, which settings give you the best visuals whilst keeping the game running smoothly?
I would be very grateful for your experienced input.

Many thanks in advance.

I?m having a problem with graphics on my laptop. Whenever I switch to full screen, either watching a movie or playing a game, the screen starts flashing and jerking. The end result is the movie or game goes back to the minimized size and I get an error message. The message states that my display driver failed and was restored. I?ve also noticed the icons in the upper right corner (minimize, restore, close) stop functioning.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A135-52276. The operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate-Service Pack 1-32 bit. The graphics information shows ATI Radeon Xpress Series (0x5A62). The Total Available Grphics Memory: 831 MB. The current driver is from ATI Technologies, driver date 12-01-08, Version 8.561.0.0. Resolution is 1280 x 800.
I?ve tried Windows Update to check for updated drivers-tells me what I have is the best choice. I?m hoping you could help me-it?s really frustrating. Thank you.

Answer:I am having a problem with my ATI Radeon Xpress Series graphics.

Welcome to Seven Forums Snoopster03.
Windows update is often behind with drivers. How old is the laptop? The ATI designation indicates 3-4 years? You can go the Toshiba support site and see if they have a newer driver available for your model. Most laptops have specially created drivers which should be used for best performance.

I have just very recently as today started using a new PC with Windows 7, Dell Optiplex 745/755, 8gb, 160gb hdd. Dual monitors is important to me so i got a ATI Radeon card which fitted in and works. My problem being is that on my other PC, Optiplex 520 running XP, i had a Nvidia Quadro 280 PCI card which worked along with the on board graphics which i had my 42in TV connected to for streaming sports, films and such. I would really like that set up again on this machine, is this possible with changing some settings ?? On the old PC i just inserted, configured and started using the 3 monitors. In fact i had 4 running at one point but 2 were of the same display. There is also an svideo connection on the ATI Radeon card, could that be used as a third monitor ? I am not a gamer as such, i use poker sites, watch sports for gambling, so its all quite basic in terms what i need for power. Any help here is great appreciated, thanks.

Answer:Using integrated graphics with ATI Radeon X1300/X1550 Series

Does the second monitor show any picture at all? Your PC supports two monitors with a Radeon card. have you installed the Radeon drivers from Dell? You have to go into the Control Center program for the graphics card to enable dual monitors, assuming you get a picture on the second one.

A Mozilla crash report has suggested that I upgrade my graphics drivers to version 9.6 or later.  I'm only running version 6.14 circa 2005.  I do not yet know whether or not it matters whether I am running Windows XP sp2 (my current OS install) or sp3.  I just cannot find the latest drivers after looking all over.

AMD took over ATI but they don't have the drivers back that far at their site.

Answer:I just need the latest ATI RADEON Xpress 200 series graphics drivers

According to AMD this is the latest driver for the Xpress 200. But, you should really be updated to SP3.

Could be the PSU. I had a similar problem when I added an extra dvd writer. I upgraded from a 300 watt to 500 watt. The ATI Radeon X""" series. must be connected to a power source. Usually the hard drive. My SATA hdd didn't like this so connected it up to the lesser used writer. I have the x1300 tho. Only 256memory on boardSeems ok nowHope it helps.D

Hi, I need help with a Graphics issue. My laptop renders my external Monitors slightly out of focus or fuzzy. I thought it was the Monitor but when I hook up my much older PC (running XP) the Screen quality is fine! I got a different monitor hooked up to it now. The screen is still fuzzy. I noticed a few other weird issues. -When I hook up the Flat Screen exterior Monitor to my laptop both Monitors stay on. When I hook up my Laptop to my old heavy Tube monitor the Laptop monitor automatically turns off. -When I go into Personalize/Display Setting it has 2 monitors showing. The Exterior is #1 & the Lap is #2. The max setting for Monitor #1 is 1924 X 768. #2 has a ton of choices. maxing out at: 1920 X 1080.My Computer friend said I probably do not have the right &/or updated ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Series Graphics drivers. I even went into the Display setting/Advanced/ Monitor/Properties/Drivers & had the system directed to : 8-11_vista#32_dd_70229.exeI thought there would be some prompts to help me optimize the display. Hi, i have a 2.66 daul Pentium Dual core comp with 1gb of daul channel ram running on Win media center. On board graphics is ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series at 256MB. Can anyone give me an idea of what im expecting in performance from this video card? I im not expecting high end here but it seems to be its too slow. I lag quiet a bit ( frame rate drops) on old games that require 32 meg cards. (ie old half life engine) Ive updated driver via ATI.com using their integrated mobo drivers and yet it just seems to me no matter how bad an integrated video card is, it should play a 10 year old game... IF someone can give me an idea of what this card can do so i know its just a crappy card or bad hardware/software problems.. thanks ^_^

Hi, I'm new to the community, but thought I'd post my recent experience just incase anyone else has any similar queries. So I recently purchased a ex office based Thinkcentre M58 6258 SFF for £30. Intended as a stop gap before I can afford a better rig. It came shipped with Hynix 4GB PC3-8500 1066MHZ ram, 320GB HDD and a Core 2 Duo e8400. Really decent performance for the money but I wanted that something extra for casual gaming and also because this will be my main music production centre for the time being. After spending around a week trying to find any confirmed working decent spec graphics cards, how much ram this actually takes, compatible CPUS, whether the PSU can handle it etc,  I took the plunge. So I can confirm that I am now running a Core 2 Quad Q9550, Corsair XMS3 10GB (2x4GB & 1x2GB) PC3-1066 1333MHZ DDR3 and a Dell AMD Radeon HD 8570 1GB low profile SFF graphics card. SSD drive is on it's way. This has been running for nearly a month now, no hitches and the psu doesn't seem to be working any harder than it did previously. Note that the latest bios dated 5/6/2012 has been applied (link below) and all latest chipset drivers direct from Intel. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds013586 Hope this helps somebody out, because all these upgrades cost me around £120. So for £150 or just over this is a great little rig that should serve me well for a while.

or you could set the screen to default settings while you install driver e.g. (My laptop) Intel Series 4 Express Chipset Standard Monitor. Or Standard VGA Resolution.

First of all, hello Windows Seven Forums Community.

So, I'm having an issue with my video card lately. Two weeks ago my video card was working perfectly fine at a stock setting (850mhz & 50% Fan Speed)

But lately this is the issue I've been getting,

When starting any game (Could be a game from 2004 or even 2013), after 30-60 seconds..my computer will completely freeze and my screen will just go into No Connection Mode. The computer is still on but completely frozen with the black screen due to my monitor going unresponsive. After restarting the computer, the windows will be loading but after the loading screen, my monitor will go unresponsive again and I'll have to shutdown my computer for about 10 minutes just to get back into windows.

After loading back into windows, I've tried testing my Graphic Card with the Catalyst Test Settings and even when that start, my computer will freeze and my monitor will go unresponsive again under 60 seconds.

Would anyone know what could be the cause of this?

Gateway DX4300 with ATI Radeon 5550 (gfx card)
3200-series (onboard) -
Display Driver (device mgr): AMD Radeon HD 5500 Series and ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics (working properly)
2 Gateway HX2000: 1 DVI-D, 1 VGA - both detected and named properly
Third monitor: Dell 1905FP VGA only - not currently detected (but it's the onboard, not the monitor, see below)
AMD CCC version 2015.0728.2244.39078
8.00 GB RAM (7.75 GB usable)
* Installed Win10 Home x64 over Win8.1 (which was over 8, which was over 7, x64 Home Prem versions). Three monitors worked, just as they had in 7, 8, and 8.1, until restart with WinUpdate forced update, then onboard stopped working. Doesn't matter which VGA is plugged into it, no joy.

* Clean install of Win7 (only disk I had because 8 & 8.1 were downloaded upgrades). Onboard didn't work at all after this, not even initially.

* Backed all files up and clean installed Win10. Again, all three monitors worked initially, until machine restart.

When the Dell VGA is found, and when it was part of the three monitor setup that was working initially before the restart, Win10 detects it, names it properly, and it works, presumably, off the ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics display adapter. However, when it's connected (or when the VGA Gateway HX2000 is connected) to the onboard, after that initial working period before restart, the one on the onboard is not detected at all.

AMD dropped current driver support for their HD 2x/3x/4x series years ago -- which is why you'll find no Win10 driver for those.

I had trouble, when I was still using an onboard HD 4390 installing the drivers in Win8 -- but the solution was NOT to use their installer, but instead, to use Control Panel, Device Manager, Update driver and select the .inf file for the driver package. That actually installed the drivers.

Processor is Celeron 1.7GHz 128KB cache with 768mb ddr ram. problem is huge. i use it mainly as a gaming computer(i know its not the best choice for it,still getting money to buy a better one ) for World of Warcraft and Warcraft 3 only . despite my bad knowledge about hardware , i know that this configuration should run it on at least 1152 x 864 with 32bit color on highest details without glitching . instead of it i get awful glitching even on lower resolutions like 800 x 600 and lowest details ( no antialiasing. no shaders , lowest texture details , exc ) . this problem occurs not only in WoW but in w3 also(a game older than 6 years i presume ). my oppinion is that something is not right with the graphic card cuz when i run DXDIAG in run.exe it shows glitching in all direct x-s = 7.0 , 8.0 and 9.0.

Answer:Conflict on :: ASRock P4VM890(motherboard) and HIS Radeon X1650 Series(graphic card)

Hi mate!

It is possible that your power supply unit is not powerful enough to support your new GPU while working in full load (like when you play games or run the DX tests). If you can borrow a better PSU and check you can see if the problem is there.

Also, some motherboards do not support newer cards without BIOS updates. Go to asrock's site and check if your card is in their list for your motherboard and with what BIOS in use.

Rumor Mill: Radeon HD 5800 Pricing Revealed

Radeon HD 5850, HD 5870 and HD 5870X2 ranging from US$280 to US$600
In the past couple of weeks, we have seen a considerable number of articles on AMD's much-anticipated, next-generation line of desktop graphics cards, presumably part of the chip maker's upcoming ATI Radeon HD 5000 series of GPUs, but, as we are approaching an alleged release date, the rumors just keep coming. According to the most recent details that have leaked on the Internet, the Sunnyvale, California-based chip maker plans to launch three new cards this September, all of which will be able to support Microsoft's upcoming DirectX 11 API. In addition, it appears that, for the first time, we now have the price points of the said cards.

According to a recent news article on the Bright Side of News, the AMD next-generation DirectX 11 lineup will include three new cards, allegedly called Radeon 5850, 5870 and 5870X2. The naming scheme is somewhat explainable, as it will continue the company's current line of GPUs, in the HD 4000 series, providing users with an increased performance and new features. What is of importance is that the article includes the launch prices of the said cards, which should give users a pretty general idea of what to expect from the chip maker.

Apparently, AMD plans to launch the top-of-the-line Radeon HD 5800 series at prices between US$279 to US$599, with the Radeon HD 5850 and the HD 5870X2 being at both ends of that range... Read more

Answer:Radeon HD 5800 Pricing Revealed

I find the prices for the beginning OK, there is no Direct concurence until nvidia bring too a directX11 card. The dev-coast must be payed.

But I think it will not take a long time, perhaps 1/2 year, and we can buy a 5870 with a optimzed layout fot somthink like 250euro, and @ that moment most of the driver Problems are solved.

It happens every product cycle. Despite Microsoft's best efforts to keep details of its launch plans under wraps, an online retailer has leaked pricing for OEM copies of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro and is even accepting pre-orders.

The details appear at Newegg.com, where a search for Windows 10 turns up two OEM System Builder packages for sale.

Windows 10 Home OEM  $109.95  Release Date: 8/31/2015

Windows 10 Pro OEM  $149.95   Release Date: 8/31/2015

Edit: I just noticed that one of the requirements for the install is a Microsoft Account. Hopefully it will give you the option to install without the account like  Windoows 8.1

I recently got a bare bones system that I have put together. When I turn on the computer though, there is no video at all. The fans and lights and harddrives and the LCD on the front of the case all come on, but my moniter doesn't seem to be getting a signal of any kind. There is no sound like the beeps that would say that it is going through the boot up process. I have checked this computer out on another moniter, as well as testing the video card in another computer. Same results with the moniter and the video card works fine in the other computer. It is a Asus K8V-MX motherboard and an AMD Sempron 3100+ processor. I was extremly careful with these so there would be no electrostatic discharge. I obviously cannot change the BIOS as I can't see them, so does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks a lot. ~P~

Answer:no video card graphics nor online graphics

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot!

What is the ram & psu make and model?
Try clearing the cmos, per MoBo book.
First check to see that you used MoBo's stand off's correctly and
that the MoBo is not shorting out on the case.
Do a bare setup, only the essentials. Can be done with or without case.

1.cpu heatsink/fan
2.MoBo
3.1 stick of known good ram
4.video card
5. keyboard
6.monitor

Un-hook all power & data cables (except the power to MoBo)
remove all addin cards.
This is just to get you to the bios screen.
Failing this, try booting without any ram just to see if you get any error
beep codes, same with video card.

This should help getting some trouble shooting in order.
G'Luck and let us know.

For some odd reason, the $499 bracket will remain without a card. I have written a few tutorials about graphics cards that I believe will be beneficial to this section of the forums.

The first tutorial is simply how to remove your old graphics card and install a new one. The actual process is extremely simple (for me, the longest part is getting my case out and back), and thus the tutorial is relatively short. However, if you have never changed a graphics card (or other component) then this is a must read.

The secondtutorial is a simple explanation of how to overclock your graphics card. Anyone that looks at the tutorial will see that it is not a short tutorial, because overclocking is a dangerous and risky process, that must be done correctly.

Hey guys.  I got a GeForce GTS 250 Series graphics card a few months ago.  I was able to play my games, like Oblivion GOTY, on ultra high graphics just fine.  Then I bought a new case for my computer, switched everything over, and now I can only play on low to very low graphics.  I thought it might be a bug on my PC so I reinstalled Windows XP, wiping everything.  This didn't fix the problem at all.  Does anyone know what might be going on?

I have been looking at the new ATI Radeon graphics card's and i see that there is a 32mb with ViVo which is what i want really for capturing video. Or the All in Wonder 64mb Radeon with TV.
I don't really want TV, so should i get the 32mb Radeon or is it worth the extra expense to get the All-in-one being that it is 64mb.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry got that back to front, answered my own question, edit/delete won't let me delete the post.

Guys

Good morning. The fan on my Crucial/ ATI Radeon 9100 graphics card is making one heck of a racket. I took the graphics card out of the case and dismantled the fan, cleaned it out, screwed it back on but it hasn't made any difference.

The way I see it I have 2 options - buy a new fan or fork out for a new graphics card. I'd rather just get a new fan, but am not sure what i am looking for. I know what it looks like (about 2 inches x 2 inches) but what type of fan is this... so I don't buy the wrong one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Answer:Radeon Graphics card

You can buy an yupgrade and still do a full install.XP will just ask you to put the original disk in to check your previous OS. It won't take any files from it.IMHO XP will work more efficiently as a clean install.I know it's a bore, but my advioce is to bite the bullet, back up, and then install.

I've been looking into purchasing a new Nvidia GPU that supports DX11.

I have an EVGA motherboard, however, the GPU does not have to be from that subsidiary company. I was looking between the 460 and the 470, and couldnt decide whether or not the extra hundred bucks for the 470 would be worth it or not. I will not be using 3D vision, so count that out.

I didn't want to get the 480 since thats around 500 bucks.

What are your opinions? I will be playing games such as Crysis 2 when that comes out, Battlefield BC2, Medal of Honor, Dirt 2, Metro 2033, Mafia II, etc.

My system specs are as follows:
EVGA P55V 120-LF-E651-TR Intel chipset motherboard
Intel i7-860 Quad CPU @ 2.8ghz
OCZ Gold 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333mz PC3 10666 (OCZ3G1333LV4G63581470)
as of now i have the EVGA nvidia ge-force 9800 gtx GPU
and my PSU is an LSP Ultra 750w ATX.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 580, not very old...everything about it is okay, except the integrated graphics card. Someone recently gave me a GeForce 6600 card, and my GF bought me GW2 in anticipation.

I've got it installed, it seems to be properly seated on the motherboard, and it's connected to the power supply(had to get an adapter to make that work, it's got a 4-pin molex connector and all mine are 15-pin SATA's), but my computer doesn't seem to want to recognize it.

I've been to the GeForce site to try and download drivers, but it says it can't detect any hardware. Likewise, when I'm under Device Manager and I scan for hardware changes, nothing comes up under Display Adapters, it's still just the "Intel(R) HD Graphics" all by its lonesome.

I'm at the end of my rope here. Just lost my job, don't really have the disposable income to take it in to get looked at or get a different card or anything, I REALLY need this to work. I'd be eternally grateful for any assistance.

Hey there, I've been currently looking into upgrading my graphics card from my Radeon Sapphire HD 6700 (1gb GDDR5) model, to a MSI GTX 970 (4gb GDDR5) model. My question is whether the card will actually fit into the case. Mainly, whether I'll be able to install it.With my current card, I have to slot it in at a diagnal before I'm able to actually fit it, past the HDD Mounting bracket, into the PCI-E slot. It fits at least though. The dimensions are as follows... Radeon: 19.7 x 17.7 x 4.2 cm GTX: 26.9 x 14.1 x 3.5 cm  My computer model is: HP Pavilion p6 Series - p6-2480ea ----------------------------- I'm aware of the PSU restirctions. I have already upgraded to a 750w power supply. But my main concern is whether I'd be able to fit it past that HDD bracket (which goes the full height of the pc). I've also taken note of the PCI - 2.0 restriction of my board, but that's not a massive issue for me at this moment.  ----------------------------- This morning has consisted of scouring the internet for this question with minimal success, so I thought it better just to ask for a more direct result. Thanks in advance! Mr.Baker

I'm considering having a new graphics card but wandered what's involved.I currently have a Crucial Radeon 9200SE, which I fitted myself with no problems. The card I'm considering having is Radeon 9550. As this card comes with a fan wandered whether it's just a case of putting the card in the AGP slot and that's all you have to do, or, as it's got a fan, is some other cabling involved? If so, is this difficult to install/fit?Cheers, dagwoood.

Answer:How hard to fit Radeon graphics card?

Just a plugin job as a self contained unit. The only thing you might have to look out for is that the fan adds to amount of space the card will occupy - it may well overhang the adjacent PCI slot. Thus if that slot is occupied you may have to move the occupant to another slot.

No, it isn't a bad thing because GDDR5 paired with a 128 bit Memory Bus Width is equivalent to GDDR3 paired with a 256 bit Memory Bus Width. The ATI Radeon HD 5770 is a fairly popular mainstream card, thus the performance level is good enough for most people.

Hi forum dwellers I am having a lot of trouble getting my graphic card to update itself. I have tried using the device manager numerous times to no avil. It always tells me that i'm up to date. But the current software/hardware update was from 2008. Thats lightyears behind on what i'm quite sure they have updated so far. My friend keeps telling me to update the driver but I have tried so many times.
I even went to the ATI website and tried the uninstall old driver install new procedure and it still tells me mine was last updated in 2008 and that it is fine!

Answer:ATI Radeon 3200 graphics card

Go here and run the driver check- ATI Driver Update Utility

That should tell you if you have the latest driver.

When you run the check for drivers in Vista or Win 7, I think it checks to see if you have the latest generic Windows driver.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find out what power supply is needed for this graphics card. It is only PCI not PCI-E. 128mb.My Computer only has a 200watt supply. I run a winXP, 1GB RAM, 1.8GHZ Celeron, CD + DVD Writers, with 1 x 40GB main and 200GB Slave drives. with 48MB Shared graphics atm.

Answer:Radeon PCI (9250) Graphics card

I have fitted one of these to a Dell Dimension 3000. Not sure what the rating of the power supply is but Dell are not generous! 200watt is not a lot. It may depend on what else it has to power. You already have two hard drives and two CD/DVD drives so I would be concerned. Do you have space to replace the power supply? Is your power supply a standard size?

O/S W98se, 512mb RAM, ASUS A7M266 M/BHaving problems upgrading the Graphics card to a ATI Radeon 9200 - 256mb.Story so far.Booted up into safe mode. Deleted old Display Adapter as instructed in manual. Replaced old card for the new one. Re-booted and inserted cd with drivers and followed instructions.Re-booted after installing new drivers and the screen - for want of a better word - was like a kaleidoscope (well almost). It was if there was an image squashed up and repeated many, many times across the screen. Had to do Ctrl/Alt/Delete to re-boot with the same end result.Had a look in device manager and the card was listed ok.I have tried taking the card out and re-seating it but with the same end result. The card is an 8x AGP although the motherboard suports only 4x. I was informed that it would run ok though only at 4x. But seeing as the card was on special offer (only a few pound more than the 128mb) I thought it was worth it.I don't have another pc to try it on that would accept the card.Would I be right in assuming that the kaleidoscope effect would point to a suspect card rather than a driver problem.Oh and one last minor problem - if at all it is. The ATI Control will not uninstall through Add/Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel.Cheers

Answer:Radeon Graphics Card problem

was the old display adapter onboard and did you uninstall or disable via device manager?try this.restart your computer and enter your bios (will say on screen which key to press at post)look in advanced chipset or similar bios menu for "shared memory" and disable.also look for "agp boot from" or similar and set to auto or agp.try booting into safe mode(keep tapping F8 as the computer starts and select it)try lowering your display resolution to 800x600 and then restart and uninstall the ati control panel via add remove(dont restart)then the driver and restart.download the latest cat 4.1 driver click heretry driver cleaner click here

My sons PC has a Radeon 9800XL graphics card, the PC has started to lock up or the screen display goes berserk. I have stripped the PC down and the the fan that is on the graphics card is hardly turning and is red hot to the touch. Is this the reason that the PC is starting to play up?. I cannot find anything else that does not seem right. The PC is still under warranty (RTB), and I want to make sure before I send it back that this is the problem. Any help appreciated....

Answer:Solved: Radeon Graphics Card

Hi, I have tried to install a radeo 9200 Graphics card on my computer (PCI slot) I have downloaded the latest drivers from the ATI site and installed them. If I turn off my on board AGP in bios and enable the PCI graphics card when I boot up windows loads to the point of displaying Windows XP but then when it changes to the screen with names of people whoo use the computer to click their profile the screen is blank. If I load on safe mode it will load correctly and allow me to load the administrator profile or any other profile. Can anyone suggest what I can do next to get it to load in ormal mode please?
Thanks,

Answer:Radeon 9200 Graphics Card

-while using ur onboard uninstall the display driver first (so now u hav no display driver)
-restart, go into bios disable the onboard and enable the PCI
-plug ur monitor to the PCI card boot THEN install the Radeon driver

hi

i have a radeon 7000 graphics card and i it not working propley. i installed the castylt driver.

the problem it is causing is it can play a video for example i can use sopcast. futhermore it will cause the whole pc to freeze.

it is a hardware problem or software.

Answer:Radeon 7000 graphics card

I would say it could be both. First I would check to see how hot your GPU is and would also check the heatsink on the card for dust. If it is running to hot it can cause the system to freeze.

I've just updated the drivers from Omega to Crimson and when I play a movie through either Power DVD or Zoom Player there is a red line down the centre of the monitor. This has only happened after installing the latest update. So I uninstalled the driver to put the original Omega back on and everything is fine.

Any ideas on what's causing this problem please?

Answer:AMD Radeon Graphics Card Driver

Could be anything, to be honest. It not a NECESSITY to have the latest up to date drivers though. If you're not having any problems with your current drivers, which you just stated you're not, leave it be. Normally drivers are issued to correct a specific problem or set of problems. If you're not having any its not completly necessary to update to the latest drivers.

I've replaced my Creative GeForce 4 Titanium 4400 AGP 4 128MB RAM graphics card with a Connect3d ATI Radeon X 800 XL AGP 8 with 256MB Ram. I've removed the old card's drivers and installed the latest ATI 5.7 drivers.

My 3DMark03 benchmark has increased 10 fold but when I run MS CFS2, MS FS2002 or MS FS2004 my frame rates have actually decreased, though I have left the games' settings largely untouched. The only way that I can get the FR even into the 20's is to switch off all weather, and exterior views of the aircraft are in the low teens.

Could this be caused by installing Dx9c?

I would be grateful for other peoples' experiences with this card.

once again, ATI has managed to take video card performance up a notch. with the release of these two new cards, ati mantains its standing as (in my opinion) the bst card money can buy.

Answer:ATI Radeon X800 Graphics card

Wow, thats really quite good! I wish I had the money to spend on these things because I would buy one of those if I did. I cant really justify a new graphics card right now because my current one is working very nicley

I so wanna see this thing in action!

I have an H520 (with a 700W replacement supply) with i7-3770 CPU running Windows 8 that does not recognize the ATI Radeon HD 7790 card that I've installed.  If I set the BIOS to IGP as the default display device  I can view Device Manager using the onboard graphics port, which only shows the Intel onboard graphics.  Running the ATI Catalyst driver manager fails since it does not see the 7790.  If I set the BIOS to AUTO or PCIe  I do not get any display on either the onboard or the 7790 graphics ports, so I have to physically remove the card to allow the machine to boot up again to use the onboard graphics by default to see the display again.  The sequence for AUTO prioritizes the PCIe display first according to the BIOS description, so apparently the onboard display does not get activated for this BIOS setting when the 7790 is installed. As described in some other graphics card posts, I tried setting OS Optimized Defaults to disable but this had no apparent effect. BIOS is Rev ESAKT23A. I've tested the 7790 on an old computer and verified that it is working. How can I get the 7790 to be recognized on the H520?

Answer:H520 with ATI Radeon Graphics card

hi RRDave,

Welcome to the Forums.

Your problem might be similar to this thread (this is for a K430 dssktop but same aspects apply). Try the fix that ParadiseDecay have posted as other users found it helpful.

The solution was to set the following in the BIOS:

Security Tab:
Secure Boot = Disabled

Boot Tab:
Boot Mode = Legacy (if applicable)
Boot Priority = Legacy First (if applicable)
CSM = Enabled

Hope this helps

Answer:ATI Radeon Graphics card problems...

What version of windows are you running? You could try uninstalling the driver through device manager. It should auto detect it when you reboot. Or just throw in the disk that came with your video card and reinstall it.

My son wishes to upgrade his computer to a Radeon 9700 pro card. It is an Athlon 2700 XP, but I am concerned that the power supply (300w) in the case may not be enough, as I understand that this card (and the 9500 pro) require about 45w power on their own. Has anyone experience of these cards running on a 300w supply, or will it be necessary to replace the 300w supply with a 360 or 400w supply?

Answer:Radeon 9700 Pro Graphics Card

It depends what else you have on your system. Tell us all the other cards, upgrades, etc that you have. If you just have a standard set of components (Sound card, modem, processor, one HDD, Network card, etc.) then you would be fine with 300W. But let us know what your system is and we can tell you for sure.
