I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm having problems trying to install win7 64 bit.I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to being a problem with NOT having a digitally signed jmicron raid driver.I'm googling etc but most tuts seem to be about signing drivers that are already installed on a working install.I need to sign a driver so that I can point the installation of win7 to use that driver. Is it possible to do this?If so how?Asus P5Q ProIntel [email protected] 800mhz pc6400ATI 4870 1GBX-Fi xtremegamerRAID0

Answer:How to Digitally sign driver for Win7 Instal

You cannot do this. Digital signing must be done by the creator of the driver. If an individual user could do this the entire exercise would be pointless.

Hi and welcome

Well paranoid doesnt mean you are wrong, but unless you work for the NSA and have money to throw at something you have to consider that even if signed its still sent in the clear. Passwords, credit card numbers, etc. digitally singed means they know it comes from you. If I were concerned (and am) I use pgp to encrypt. that way it is both not in the clear and if the person the other end has your public key knows it came from you

Hope this helps

we recently got a computer guy to reformat the pc and reinstall xp for us but now, a week after, its sayin we hav an illegal version, didnt pass the genuine test etc so we clicked on the details link and its telling us to spend a million trillion pounds [ exaggerating] on a proper legal version when we had one already, until the guy 'fixed' it for us. i looked at the product key he used to activate and its different from the one we hav on our windows xp sticker, so is there any way to change the product key so that its back to our old legal version WITHOUT having to buy another one?

Hi all-

I have run into a situation here. An employee wants to digitally sign a .pdf which had been previously password protected by another person. Even if you know the password, is this possible?

Foxit Phantom pdf reader is being used.

After all of my testing I have not been able to password protect a pdf then digitally sign. I am beginning to think this is not possible. I also cannot find the answer online.

Anyone know?

Answer:Digitally sign a password protected .pdf?

I saw your post and I opened a PDF in Adobe Acrobat on my work computer. There is an option called "changes allowed" where you can pick "filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields". But if the PDF is already password protected and that field isn't checked then there isn't anything that you can do.

Hi,

We are in the process of developing a Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) and a Key Storage Provider (KSP) which are implemented as Dynamic-link libraries (.dll). The final product needs to be digitally signed in order for Windows to accept and use our implementations.

I read on MSDN that developers used to send an email to [email protected] and request that Microsoft do the signing. I sent an email to them, requesting more information about the process, but haven't received any feedback in about three months.

I figured an alternative would be to buy a "Code Signing certificate for Microsoft Authenticode" from a trusted CA, such as Symantec, and use that to sign the appropriate files ourselves. Would this be possible? I am just not sure whether it is permitted that security products, such as CSPs and KSPs, can be signed by the developers themselves and whether Microsoft wants to look at the implementations first.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Answer:How to digitally sign a Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP)

A search seems to indicate that email address is still correct. There is also indications you must download a Cryptographic Provider Development Kit

Cryptographic Service Providers (Windows)

Hopefully someone with hands on experience will also respond.

I don't quite know which forum to post in so I'll start here.

Has anyone ever have trouble signing a VBA project on Access 2000?
(I'm using Office 2000 premium.)

I've done the following:
1) installed digital signature in Office Tools
2) generated my certificate using Selfcert
3) oened my Access DB and went into the VB editor
4) opened the Tools> menu

Result: No "Digital Signature" selection was available. in the Tools menu

Looked in VB editors in Excel and Word…
"Digital Signature" *was* right there in the "Tools" menu.
Just not in Access.

In Access, went to:
View >Toolbars>Customize…>Commands>Tools
and whaddaya know… There's "Digital Signature" right there!

BUT guess what? I can't drag in onto any tool bar or open menu.

Does anyone know what's going on or has this happened to them?
I looked in Office/Access Q&A forum on the MSDN website and actually found similar posts but the only suggestions were to try the things I've already listed above.

I searched the MS knowledge base but found no pertinent answers. The Office on-line help gives little/no help for digital signatures.

Ideas? Answers?

Am trying to install HP Deskjet 630c printer and it keeps telling me this driver is not digitally signed. I just put Windows xp on the computer. What does this mean and can I get help? I am not very computer literate and any help would greatly appreciated. Many thanks Paula.

Answer:driver is not digitally signed

"Not digitally signed" means Microsoft have not tested this driver and verified it to be compatible with Win XP.  This does not mean it will not work, you should click on the "continue anyway" to install your print driver.  If this is a concern you should check the HP web site for newer driver tested by MS.Kim

G'day. I'm trying to install my old VisionPLus DVB-T card into a Windows 7 O/S box and it won't recognise any of the old drivers. When I try to install the TwinHan Digital tv software, Windows can't/ won't install them.

I've downloaded and tried the latest (DigitalTV 3.4 Build 19-02_20090212) and windows comes up with "Driver not found". I've tried to install in compatability mode but still no good.

When installing the above, it identifies my card as “PCI CX-87A with MCU DVB-S/-C/-T/ATSC card”.

Out of all the available drivers on Twinhan's site, which would be the best for my card?

Thanks

The one written for Vista would be my choice, probably not one for W7 yet, may never be.

Looks like MS ha removed a way to disable unsigned drivers protection in Vista64, so probably is the same for 7

Looks like unsigned drivers are a no go for x64 Vista and Windows 7, well there are some workarounds in the article above, sounds like a hassle.
Not sure if this software will work with W7

Good evening,

I just reinstalled XP on a friends machine that was pooched. It is a Dell DIM4400. Everything is working except for the sound card. It is a built in sound card. When the computer boots up the new hardware wizard comes up asking for a driver for a realtek AC97 Audio device. I have tried everything I can to install the driver but each time I try I get an error that the driver is not digitally signed and it won't install. If I try in safe mode it installs but I get a blue screen upon startup and have to reboot. I do not have the orignial Dell cd but I have tried every driver from the Dell site that should work on this model of computer. I have updated the chip set drivers on the motherboard etc. I just can't get this sound card to work. Any advice??

Hey,

So I just upgrade to Vista x64 and 4GB of memory (courtesy of OCZ).

However, when installing the x64 version of MagicDisc/MagicISO I get the following error:

Can I get around this?

Answer:Required Digitally Signed Driver?

Uhmmm... yes, you can by pressing F8 at boot time and choosing to ignore the warnings about unsigned drivers, but you have to do it each and every time you boot. There is a way to permanently disable that driver signing requirement but I'm leery to give out the info anymore since it hosed a few people's machines recently.

It wasn't my fault that they chose to continue using shitty old drivers, but they blamed me for the mistake they made anyway.

Vista x64 is a more secure and stable OS than the 32 bit version, and that's one of the primary reasons why: the driver signing requirement. Disabling it or 'getting around it' will more than likely end up causing you issues at some point.

Google can find the specific method to disable the signing requirement permanently, or a search here might find it since it's been posted about 3 times over the past 4 months or so.

Good luck, either way...

Hi

The last few times I started my computer, the system comes with the warning:

"Windows requires a digitally signed driver
Driver: Broadcom NetDetect Driver
Service: BASFND
Publisher: Broadcom Corporation
Location: C:\Program Files\Bra...\BASFND.sys"

Windows suggests to uninstall the program or device that uses this driver and check the publishers support site to get a digitally signed driver.

The problem is that I have no idea of which program or hardware is using this driver. All the drivers I have installed in my computer are from the computer manufacturer.
I have also been at Broadcoms homepage and there is plenty of things to download there. But I dont want to ruin anything.

Suggestions on what to do?

System: Windows Vista 64

Answer:Windows requires a digitally signed driver

Broadcom is your onboard ethernet, I don't see why it would suddenly complain unless there was an update.:confused You can disable driver signing but it only cures the symptom and not the cause.

I recently purchased a new pc that came with win vista 64 bit premium home installed. I am now reloading all my old programs and I keep getting ?windows requires a digitally signed driver" error message. I also can't seem to play my old movie files, all of which played fine when I had Win XP. Apparently Vista does not want me to make my own decisions, so I am wondering how I might go about disabling all this extra secure vista crap. Can I go into Control panel and disable the BitLocker Drive Encryption? Or do I need uninstall 64bit and install the Vista 32 bit? Would that be a smooth transition? Would all my stuff work again if I had the less securitized 32bit Vista? Thanks for any help you may provide.
Regards,
William

Answer:windows requires digitally signed driver

Welcome to the Vista forums

1) You don't want to disable UAC (User Account Control) as it does a lot to protect your computer from various malware. If you really feel the urge to turn it off, then you can in control panel in the User Account section. Once turned off, you'll get the red shield in the bottom right saying it's disabled. Disable security warnings by opening security centre and going to "change how security centre warns me" or something and choose the "no warnings" option.

2) Just download the Vista codec pack (just Google it and you should find it) and DivX and you should have no problems watching videos.

3) You can install unsigned drivers on Vista 64 bit, do this by running an elevated command prompt (right click on command prompt in Start menu and click "run as administrator".

Type this and press enter bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

When you reboot, you should be able to install unsigned drivers.
Also, I looked on the HP website for your computer, and it has 6GB RAM, so going to Vista 32bit would only allow you to use about 3.5GB RAM. I also saw it only has an Nvidia 6150e onboard graphic card. Are you using this? As if you upgraded this to a graphic card, you'd notice better performance on Vista as well.

is it necessary to sign driver in win xp 32 sp2.

when i google i got that it is necessary for win vista , win7 and other upper version.

Answer:windows require a digitally signed driver xp 32 sp2

A signed driver is not necessary in Windows. It is an extra security layer, as drivers can become corrupt by malware. If you obtained the driver from a trusted source (like the device manufacturer's website), you can go ahead and tell Windows to install it.

Windows Vista x64 decided to implement a 'security measure' by which all drivers must be 'digitally signed' to be allowed to install and run. I have a program which is compatible with Vista and x64 bit operating systems, however as its drivers are not digitally signed I cannot run it correctly - I recieve the message 'Windows requires a digitally signed driver' and access to the driver is blocked.

Is there a method of bypassing this?

Answer:'Windows requires a digitally signed driver' - How can I bypass this?

When you boot your system hit F8 and you can bypass it there. You will have to do this every boot. There are a couple applications out there that will do this for you but the names escape me right now.

I have x220 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Device manager shows under Storage Controllers "Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC host controller," but there is a yellow triangle with "!" and a Device Status Code 52 message "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device." I checked in C:\Drivers\WIN\Multicard and found two *.cat files--which, I understand, are required to confirm digital signature. Each of them (ridisk.cat and risdxc.cat) has a signed and valid certificate! So what is going on? Will the card reader work? Is there something wrong with how Windows 7 is treating the Ricoh driver, which I downloaded from the Lenovo site? Why should I be getting this grief?

Answer:Ricoh card reader driver-not digitally signed?

Hello,

Perhaps the driver is damaged?

Try deleting the Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC host controller from the Device Manager and then restarting the computer in order to let the Device Manager re-detect it and re-install the device drivers.  Does that solve the problem?

Hello,
I'm at my wits end. Anyone who can help would be my hero.

Acer 5253 laptop, Win7 Home Premium 64bit SP1, AMD C-50.

Trying to use a USB mouse. I have 3 logitech mice. None work because hidclass.sys and hidusb.sys are not digitally signed. If I f8 and disable driver signing enforcement, all 3 mice work, so I'm pretty certain that's the issue.

Tried "Update Driver" via device manager. Windows determined that I already had the best driver and wouldn't do anything.

Logitech does not furnish drivers for Win7. They rely on the native drivers.

Acer does not furnish mouse drivers. They refer you to the manufacturer of the mouse.

Tried copying the files in question from a 64bit machine that showed them to be digitally signed. Renamed the ones on my machine and pasted the ones from the "good" machine. Resolved nothing.

chkdsk /r found problems and repaired them. Didn't help.

sfc /scannow found problems that it could not resolve. Looked in CBS.log and found no references to either of the sys files in question. No resolution.

System Restore only had one restore point, and it was from 2 days ago. Problem was already noticed by then. I suspect that it's been this way since I purchased the laptop a couple of months ago anyway, but if there had been a restore point back at the very beginning, I'd have tried that.

I don't know much about digital signing of drivers. I've seen in a couple of threads that I might be able to sign the drivers myself, ... Read more

Answer:Windows mouse driver files not digitally signed

Mike

Obviously many more problems than just the mouse driver.

You can use earlier drivers (ie from vista, or even XP) if you install them in compatibility mode
[right click the installer>properties>compatibility>chose OS]

The other system problems need a repair install.

The fact the Bios doesn't see it, means it's not a win7 problem.

From your story I must assume you didn't install windows from a DVD.

A laptop's DVD drive can be taken out easily.
Try if you can push it further into the laptop.

If that doesn't help, one of several components might be broken.

The DVD drive itself.
The connector at the end of the drive.
The onboard ide controller.

On the bottom of the laptop remove the screw that keeps the DVD drive in place, and take the drive out and push it in again.

If that doesn't help, you would have to buy a new one and hope it's not the onboard controller.

They are not expensive, about 35 euro's, or $ 45.

Good luck

Why? On windows 10 the driver is working (Version 8.2.5.0 from 6/11/2015), i saved and pushed into the Windows Deployment System, but after under Windows Server 2016 didnt work, because of signature missing. When will be available updated driver for the mobile broadband?? .... And Bluetooth connect to PAN also dont have. (BTH\MS_BTHPAN)

Hi, I run update and it seems like ThinkVantage System Update didnt install one update/driver exactly: Intel WiMAX for Windows Vista 64-bit. I can see this by "View installation history". Now the question is: how can I make TVSU redownload this update again and install ? I know that I can do this manualy by downloading  software from Lenovo drivers website but for example If I had to reinstall few more drivers this wouldnt be the quickest method. Cheers

Answer:ThinkVantage System Update didnt install one update/driver

it would be helpful if you could post which ThinkPad and Operating System you have, even better post the Type and Model Number this will help members to help you. If it ends in CTO please provide some details about the ThinkPad. Please do NOT post your s/n.Message Edited by andyP on 08-08-2009 01:40 PM

Hi All,
I tested the following attacks in Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics and found them
not to be working.

Bruteforce Attack Pass-The-Ticket Pass-The-Hash Sensitive account exposed Using Plain-Text Authentication
I have tested other attacks like Reconnaissance
using DNS, Broken Trust, Honey Token account suspicious activities but they are working perfectly fine. I don't know
what's the issue with the above 4.
For
1. Bruteforce Attack:
I used thc-hydra-windows and triggered a dictionary attack using a list of passwords.

2. Pass-The-Ticket:
I used mimikatz to steal the kerberos ticket from a PC on which Admin is logged on. Impersonating an attacker, I copied the .kirbi file and Injected that file(using mimikatz again) to another PC on which a domain user is logged in.

3. Pass-The-Hash:
(Same as above)
4. Sensitive account exposed in plain text authentication:
I used mimikatz command 'sekurlsa :: logonpasswords' and was able to get passwords of all the users who logged on to that PC. But this was also not detected by MATA.

Please help me with the above issues. If possible, provide the tools using which I can trigger and detect those attacks.

Don't go for a password. Use the PIN option That's just what you need and it's really a great thing as well.

I have recently installed ATA (1.8.6645.28499). It is now in to the second week of its learning phase and it is raising a considerable number of false pass-the-hash alerts when users initiate Citrix sessions from their usual PC using pass-thru authentication,
eg a typical alert would be:
Bloggs,Fred's hash was stolen from one of the computers previously logged into by Bloggs,Fred and used from xx1234
Clearly this is spurious - in each case the user is initiating a Citrix session from their
own PC and the xx1234 represents a Citrix server in the farm in every case.
1) Why am I only receiving a handful of related PTH alerts each day when I have many thousands of Citrix users, all authenticating in the same manner?
2) How can I supress these alerts?
What I effectively want to say is 'IF the suspected PTH is being triggered BY the user on their OWN PC and the target server is in our Citrix farm' then ignore it. I can't see a way of setting an exclusion range like this for PTH events though?
Thanks

I have a program that has a driver for Windows 7 x64. For various reasons this driver is unsigned. I know the manufacturer and it's safe. I know that I can put computers into test mode to load the unsigned driver but I'm concerned that mode allows any other unsigned driver to load.

Is there a way to allow only one specific unsigned driver to load in 64-bit windows? For example can I sign the driver myself, add that certificate to the master certificate store, and then use that driver without having to enable test mode? Or does it not work like that?

Any ideas or explanations welcome, Thanks!

Questions: (BTW, this query is being generated from the Switchboard)
1. How do I prompt the user for the dates in Access? I can't use parameters and I don't understand how to use a prompt otyher than that.
2. How do I get those user responses into the query below
3. How do I write the querydef?

Hello,

I am trying to boot widnows 10 live cd on a linux system. It shows teh windows logo and says digital driver sign check failed and asks me to press f8. I do the same and wait for advanced boot options to come up but it never comes up. The screen just blinks. I do not jave windows installed on my system. I have partitioned my system and trying to install win 10. I tried googling but many trouble shootings are done through regedit or by pressing win+c key n going to advanced boot options. I can't do any of those as I am in a win10 cd and have only linux on my system. Any suggestions would be aprecciated. Also is there a way to directly install windows to the desired partition from win website rather than burning it into an iso image cd? Kindly help

Answer:Digital driver sign check failed

Basically you've got a third party driver that's not signed by the manufacturer. Windows 8+ blocks those drivers from installing or initializing to prevent malicious software from being installed. This error can also happen from pirated software trying to bypass hardware locks (not going to go into any more details there).

If you have downloaded a copy of the Windows 10 Insider Preview that is a "live" system, I'd hedge my bets on there being something malicious on there, or the person who packaged everything threw in some "bundles". Sign up for the official program and download the legit image.

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a solution to a problem which started to occur today.

Last night I was prompted by Windows to do some updates, after they had finished my computer shut down normally. When I booted my computer today I was greeted by the BSOD with the following error code:

Stop: c000021a. The initial session process ... terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xc0000428 0x000106a0).

Windows is unable to repair the problem, I can't boot in safe mode (with or without network, cmd or otherwise) and Windows can't find any recovery points to recover the system to, nor can I boot the computer from the last known working configuration. After some frustration I tried every option from the advanced boot menu, and lo and behold, the computer booted when I booted in disabled driver signature enforcement mode.

The computer seems to work fine in this mode. I ran sigverif.exe and it found one driver that was not signed, a driver used by Daemon tools lite (can't remember the name). The driver was signed, but still my computer wouldn't boot normally, so I tried to remove Daemon tools (hence why I can't remember the name), but the computer still won't boot normally.

Windows keeps telling me that I have three important updates to update, but I can't seem to update them. The updates are KB3067903 and KB3065987, but I have no idea if they are connected to the issue.

I am attaching a screenshot from dxdiag and from the DM log collector, if you need anything... Read more

I made the mistake of combining all my music into one folder. This includes music files I have ripped from CD's I purchased and own, music files I have purchased from Microsoft, Apple and other locations, and music files I have downloaded using my Zune/XBOX Music/Groove pass over the years. They all sit in E:\Music\Subscription (with each subfolder being the artist name, and then the next tier being the album name). I did this because I wanted to manage all the music for an artist in one folder. Now I realize that I don't want this because I want to be able to backup only those files that I own, and not any I downloaded via my Microsoft music subscription over the years. I don't need to back those songs up because if I lose my computer/hard drive, I can just re-download them later. But the music that I own (especially those I have ripped from CD) would be harder to get back (I would have to rip all my CD's again).
Long story short, does anyone know an easy way to separate all this combined music using any kind of method?
At the moment it looks like Groove Pass is using WMA as their file type so I could look for all WMA files. But I realized for a while that I was ripping to WMA as well (I now rip to MP3). Thoughts? Any tools I need to do this? Or am I going to have to manually go through these folders one at a time and figure out which file type is which. At last check, I had
29,922 MP3 files and 24,020 WMA files. (NOTE: I used to download Zune pass music extensively becaus... Read more

Hi Friends !

My digital camera is C-120 Olympus with a 128 smart media card.
The results are good and when accompanied with the software Camedia Master , the preview is good . there is a slide show option and makes viewing a pleasure.

Now my question is that when I wish to email or burn the photographs onto a cd the size of the photographs after emailing/ copying ,fills more than the size of the screen .
That is when we open the mail/cd the photo's are extremely large in size .
This does not happen in the camedia software when I am previewing the snaps( they fit to the screen).

i am taking photo's in the 1600 x 1208 mode. I suppose this is the perfect clarity and since I have a 128MB, card space is not a criteria.

I just sent a set of photographs on a cd to my aunt and she is very flustered about the large more than full screen snaps
Please help??????

Dear All,
A vendor website sporadically release's MSI's which are digitally signed (plugins to run the content). These are required for the website to function.
Users are more in number so we can't manually install the MSI and time is a constraint.
Packaging / Repackaging is not a quick solution
App-locker doesn't bypass UAC, AUTO IT didn't help, Manifest and shim are only for Exe's.
We are looking for a solution where in since these are digitally signed MSI's Users should be able to install them automatically without being asked for the credentials.

Here's the dilema:

I've got a dvd full of performances by The Doors. I want to transfer the audio digitally. I can do it in analog, but digital is of course better.

So, I run my optical cable from my dvd player into my audigy 2's live drive. So far, so good. I hit play on the dvd and begin recording with creative's shitty software. The levels on the recording software are moving, giving me the impression that audio is being picked up.

However, when I stop the recording to listen to what I have transfered so far, I get nothing but an obnoxious clicking noise. I'm guessing that this is some type of 'digital copy protection'.

My question-- is there anyway around this? This isnt a store bought dvd... its one that a friend of mine compiled.... thats why I'm a little confused about the copy protection. He said he couldnt digitally transfer the audio either. I've tried other pieces of software-- cool edit, soundforge and goldwave... all had the same results.

Is there any piece of software or anything that will let me tigitally transfer this audio?

Thanks much

Answer:Cant digitally transfer audio from a dvd

Is this a video or audio DVD? For a video DVD you'd use a program like.. I dunno, DVDDecryptor or something to extract the AC3 stream(s).

Audio DVDs I don't think there's a solution for, but then, I don't see how your friend could have produced one.

Guess you could try http://www.alivemedia.net/mp3recorder.htm then, but I don't know if that one introduces more conversions.

Hi Guys, I did a search of my OS, and found some Drivers not digitally signed. Is that a problem,as my PC is functioning OK.Thanks for any advice.

Answer:Digitally Signed Drivers.

Hi D,
Your ok for the most part. A driver that lacks a valid digital signature, or that was altered after it was signed, can't be installed on x64-based versions of Windows. As a result, you will see this message ( Windows cannot install this driver ) if you are running an x64-based version of Windows.

The only other time (I think) may be if you updat a driver. again you may get that can't install it error. You can visit the device manufacturer's support website to obtain a digitally signed driver for your device.

I have had to reinstall Windows 7 64-bit edition, and when I go to install PCWizard or Everest Home Edition, I keep getting an error about drivers not being digitally signed, and Windows will not install them. Before I reinstalled Windows 7, I had both of these programs running just fine. Is there anyway I can change the fact that Windows 7 will let me install those drivers?

Answer:Digitally Signed Drivers?

The only way for 64 bit versions of Vista or Win7 to work without digitally signed drivers is to start them up using F8 to get teh Advanced Startup and disable the Digitally Signed Driver service.

If you had them working before did you make sure all your drivers now are current?

Just as the title says, i got this game Tomb Raider - Underworld that wont work properly. I installed the game and the game starts but once it starts it crashes and i get a error. I reported the problem to the games manufacture and they said this =

We apologize for having difficulty with our game. Your system does meet the minimum requirements to play this game.
Unfortunately the problem is that your drivers are not digitally signed. In order for us to forward your information
we will need you to update your drivers. After you have updated the drivers please send up an updated DXDiag report
and we will forward your information to our product development team.

My PC is costumed built so i really can't contact a PC manufacture.
Can you help me?

Answer:Windows Drivers Digitally Signed

The fact that the drivers are not certified by Microsoft merely means that the vendor did not submit them for testing and pay the bill to do so.

Many perfectly good drivers are not certified -- so do not worry about that unless you actually have problems with the hardware.

Having said that there are two ways you can restore the old drivers in XP. One is to go to the Device in question in the Device Manager, open its properties dialog (double click it) and select "rollback driver" on the driver tab. Windows XP backs these up automatically when you make a change.

The second is to use System Restore to return to a prior date.

I am looking to make a couple of corrections to some photos that I have recently took.

The first one being the colour of pretty much all of the picture. I took a shot indoors which had artificial light, I used the correct white balance but as my subject was in a small room the colour does not look natural at all. The subject seems like they have been to the sun tan shop for far too long. Is there any way I could fix this?

Also a couple of shots have been taken with no flash and on a couple I get very greasy and shiny foreheads. Is there anyway I can fix this too?

Some of my night shots were taken indoors with flash and as you can imagine the results were very washed out. Is there a way I could help reduce the flash drownage?

I have adobe photshop 7, imageready 7 and roxio photosuite 5 to edit my photos. As I am getting more and more into photography I would consider buying a new program that could help me with these common problems I face.

Also, I use a free program called raw essentials for my raw files. It is excellent for converting to black & white and sepia as you can adjust the colour on a slider. Only thing is I rarely take raw shots due to memory card usage. Does anyone know of a program that can let me make similar adjustments?

I have scoured these forums and found nothing concrete so your advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'am having problems with viatech usb 2.0 drivers on win xp home edition. They're not digitally signed for one and these are the drivers they sent me with my asus a7v333 motherboard which is designed for amd xp processors and windows xp!! I cant find anything on asus's site or viatechs site about drivers for xp and my computer is hanging up alot and everytime I try to shut down I get the debuglog.dll end program message. also Ive been having problems playing games online which Im not sure if its the usb drivers causing it but I thought it might be since I have dsl and the modem plugs into the usb port. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Viatech Usb 2.0 Drivers Not Digitally Signed???

Hi there!

If XP says they're not signed...just install them anyway! XP just implemented USB 2.0 in SP-1.

When you get that message...just click "Continue Anyway" and load them up!

They should work fine!

Hello All,

We have an Excel spread sheet that contains macros, that is shared through out our company. We have issued our own certificate to go with this spread sheet.

We have a Windows 2000 Active Directory running in Native mode. We are trying to push this certificate to become a "trusted source" w/in MS office. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Adam

Howdy:

I am Digitizing the ORIGINAL (Un-Edited, Un-New Special Effects, Un-New Scenes), Versions of Star Wars Episodes IV-V-VI. However, as they are on TAPE they have suffered over the years.

I know there is Digital Enhancing programs for Adobe After Effects, from which I have seen do a good job. However, I do not know if AE imports .dv. (As I haven't used the program in ages, and don't want to install it if it can't.) If it did that would be great as I wouldn't have to compress it and I could do everything at home.

However!
If I can't and even if I can I would like to know what all your Guru's out there think.

What ways can I use to Enhance the films, to make them slightly less horrible. They were released THX 5.1 Surround Sound Remastered so Audio isn't a problem. Just the video.

Problems:

Grain
Not Very Sharp
Color Fade

Those are the 3 main problems. What features (in perhaps Premiere/Final Cut?) or options do I have of fixing these problems? Even fixing them very slightly would make a world of difference.

These are the ORIGINAL's people, don't let them fade away.

Answer:Digitally Remaster/Re-Enhance Film...How?

Maybe try to find them on laserdisc... that might be easier than digitizing and adjusting almost 7 hours of video. Something like this below would be better than starting from tape. Even if you have to buy an old laserdisc player...

Original Star Wars Definitive Collection Laserdisc Set

I like how the guy said "un-mutated..." the originals ARE the best

If you are gonna use the tapes, get the best VCR you can find. What software and hardware are you using to capture with?

Until yesterday everything was working fine. This night I shutdown my computer and this morning, when I started it up, I noticed the icons of my dekstop in the default location and with the default dimensions.

I repositioned them , I changed icon dimensions again but if I sign out/sign in , restart , shutdown/startup the computer , all my desktop icons go back to default position and default dimension.

Any clue on how can I fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer:Desktop icons position/dimension reset every time I sign-out/sign-in

Replying just to add that I also tried DesktopOK; I place the icons where I want them and as soon as I click 'save' the icons go back to the left side of the desktop and in fact DesktopOK saved them all in the left side position.

Hi there

I notice on build 10166 after a re-boot the icons / texts etc are TINY on a large monitor unless I SIGN OUT and SIGN back in again --not shutdown / restart but use the ALT-CTRL-DEL to get the Lock menu. Choose sign out and then sign back in again -- your previous display settings are then restored just fine.

Not sure why this happens -- you don't need to change the display settings again --just sign out and sign back in again.

Problem occurs on both Local and Ms accounts (although I've deceided until Networking probs fixed I'm not using Ms accounts any more).

Cheers
jimbo

Hi there.. I have recently bought a Satellite laptop, a L655-S5156, model number PSK2CU-0HW01U.

I would like to change the dollar sign (shift+3) to the english pound sign as I work predominantly in UK currency. Is there any way I can do this on this laptop ? It was bought from a US store.

Many thanks,

'Paws...

Answer:Changing Dollar Sign to English Pound sign on Toshiba Laptop

As far as I know you cannot change symbols and configure keyboard. What you can do is to change input language and define keyboard for ?English UK?. When you do this press SHIFT + 3 ? symbol should be shown.

Can you please test it and let me know if this work for you too?

Hello everyone, I had some trouble with my computer recently (HDD consistence error), which caused my WiFI driver to stop working. I tried to fix it by uninstalling and installing again from this site: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028694, it seemed good - installer said "Success" in the end, but when opening Device manager, i see that Error 52 - Windows cannot verify the digital signature of driver blabla... I have Windows 7 HP Does anyone know how to solve this? I naively thought that drivers from official Lenovo site will be signed correctly. Thank you for any advice, John

You have recently removed one or more virusus from this computer, but now a new one has appeared.

First, AOL is extremely slow to start when I click on the icon. Once I've signed on, after a time a new sign-on screen appears on top of what I'm doing. I cancel that one. Soon I see activity at the bottom of the screen (where ordinarily you see "Done" or "//http:/..." etc. The virus is doing its own AOL activity! Soon afterward AOL is canceled, as if I had canceled it.

Also, Microsoft XP suddenly announces they are having to increase my virtual memory. Paging size is currently at 384 Mb, and my RAM is 1.25 GB. This is happening more and more frequently.

I have again changed my AOL sign-on password, and I no longer permit it to use the password automatically (I have to enter it at each sign on).

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer:Repeating AOL sign-ons, growing virtual memory, slow sign-ons

I went into my User Accouts in the Control Panel. I deleted a User called Nathon. I created a new user account with Admin authority named Jack.
However, everytime that I start my computer from my morning bootup, the Signon Window has the deleted User, Nathon.
I have to type in Jack, for the new user, and I get into Jacks Account.

Why is Windows not remembering that I have deleted the USER, Nathon?

I have never had such a problem with any of my other windows computers.
