Vista Windows Mail 6.0 shows new emails as read (un bolded)

Question: Vista Windows Mail 6.0 shows new emails as read (un bolded)

How do make my new emails bold in vista mail? I have not made any changes I just re-installed vista and new mail account.

The mail has not be read or moused over. IMAP account. I have searched and read every post I could on the forum but it seems that they all come to a dead end with no resolution. I hope there is one. Please help if anyone know how to fix this.

Preferred Solution: Vista Windows Mail 6.0 shows new emails as read (un bolded)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My friend has been using Vista Windows Mail for her Yahoo mail for a couple of years with via BT.
She then developed a problem and and found she could not use "Windows Mail" for her mail any longer, but could still access her mail by going direct to "Yahoo mail.co.uk", so it looks like a Vista "Windows Mail" setup problem.
I have a 2nd laptop with Vista and tried to set up my current Yahoo mail account on it, but no matter what I have read on line, I find it impossible to read my yahoo mail but can send Yahoo mail on it, it also sends and recieves blueyonder addresses o.k.
I am now totally confused, can somewone advise me please, so that I can help her.
thanks

Answer:Vista Windows Mail cannot read yahoo mail

Which browser is being used? Is it IE9? Have you tried another browser, Firefox for example?
If you have tried it in IE9 try rolling this back to IE8 by going to Control Panel, Programs and Features (add remove program depending on OS), click on "view installed updates" in left hand column, right click on Windows Internet Explorer 9, select uninstall, restart PC - it should automatically roll back to IE8.

I have the hard drives from a failed Vista Home Premium computer that was running Windows Mail. Apparently emails were downloaded and stored by Windows Mail.

I'm working from my XP Pro computer with the bare drive.

How can I get to the stored emails with some pictures that were attached to try to recover them?

Answer:RecoIving Windows Mail emails in Vista

You should be able to find there here on your old drive.
Appdata is usually a hidden folder.

Good afternoon Tech gurus,

Here is our setup:
Windows Small Business Server 2003 (handles DHCP, DNS, AD, Exchange, etc)

The CEO of the company has SOME e-mails showing up as read in his Outlook e-mail and others as unread in Outlook 2003.

Under Tools>Options>Other. Under 'Reading Pane' The option 'Mark items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane' is disabled (unchecked). (In Outlook)

There are a few rules established (Those rules all they do is if an e-mail from so and so comes in, it moves it to a folder within inbox). (In Outlook)

The CEO has an iPhone which is setup to access e-mail via POP3 (not via Exchange)

Does anyone have a clue as to why this would happen? This is very weird and I've checked a few forums with no luck.

Thanks guys.

Answer:Exchange e-mail in Outlook shows up as read

Confirmed that it is not the iPhone that marks the e-mail as read.

One thing to mention is that the user receives e-mails in chunks at a time (meaning that they come in in batches, then he stops receiving e-mails) after the batch comes in, some of them are read.

Hi

I'm returning my Windows Vista computer because of various problems and want to make sure that all of my email info in Windows Mail is deleted.

I've sent all of my emails to 'deleted items' and then deleted them from that folder but I remember something about Outlook Express emails not being deleted from the hard disk and I really don't want someone to be able to read my personal emails.

Are these emails deleted or is there something else I should do?

Hope you can help!

Kar

I had to restore my system yesterday and ever since then, my email is not working properly. When I first open the app, it pulls the email from the server and I can read them. However, any subsequent attempts for it to go out and retrieve email result in the following error message:

"Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details." -- but there is nothing in the details box.

If I close the Windows Mail app and re-open it, it will retrieve the email. But I have to keep closing and re-opening it for it to work.

I did try to upgrade to Windows Live but that brought on a whole slew of other issues so I gave up on that.

I am using Windows Vista Home Basic, 32-bit on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Can any one help.

I have a Satellite P200-10O, with Vista installed. In Win Mail i have set up my email accounts as normal.

When i open Win Mail i can click send and receive and it searches for new messages, this can be repeated as often as you like. However when i create a new message and click send it stops working. The message goes into the outbox, if i open it in the outbox and click send, nothing happens, after a while of trying every thing freezes up. If i then close the program and re open it will send the message but then sometimes the send and receive doesn't work until you close and re open. Also the message counters do not up date.

I have tried everything i can think of, Vista forum, ISP, Toshiba. So far no joy although i will be getting back in touch with Toshiba again. Message is set to send immediatley.

No virus or firewall is being used.

Cheers

Hi buddy,

why are you making yourself such problems?? Why don?t you use Mozilla Thunderbird which is faster, reliable and has better functions then this Vista Mail thingy??

I use Thunderbird now for some years and I love it. It?s better than outlook and has so many functions which make the work a lot easier.

On my other smartphones, when I've read an e-mail it will show as read on my PC as well, and vice versa. Now I'm running Win 10 on my Surface and Lumia, but when I read my e-mail on my Lumia, I'll have to mark it as read on my Surface as well (and the other way around if I read my e-mail on my Surface first).
Any way to sync my message status so it shows as 'read' on all devices after I read it on one?
I'm using a Gmail account. Lumia 830 running Win10, Surface Pro 2 also on Win10.
Thanks.

Answer:E-Mail I read on my Lumia 830 shows as 'Unread' on my Surface Pro 2 both Running Win 10

Check your mail settings to see how often your mail is being synced. You might want to change it to As Items Arrive. Or you could hit the sync button whenever you're done with stuff so it can sync up.

I cannot figure out how to get all of my email stores moved from my old PC (Windows Vista/Windows Mail) to my new PC (Windows 7/Outlook 2013). Is there a way to successfully do this or do I need to give up?? When trying to use the export function for messages in windows mail it comes up with an error message to say 'The export could not be performed. An error accured while initializing MAPI.' All my email accounts are POP3. I did find the email stores and transfered them manually to the new PC but I opened them on the new PC in outlook then only a small fraction of emails was there and they were all jumbled up and my folder structure did not transfer. Can this transfer be done or not? Hope to get some useful answer. Cheers, Torsten.

So this just started today (like an hour ago). When I get an email in Gmail it shows in my Inbox. If I open it to read it, and then close it, it still shows in my Inbox, but if I refresh then it disappears. Only unread emails show. If I check All Mail it shows the read emails, and shows the tag "Inbox", so they are still there, but just not visible. If I check them as unread in the All Mail view they show again in Inbox, but again, once read, they disappear. It's happening in both Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else having this issue?

Computer running XP and emails read in Outlook Express;
but compacted email are in recycle bin

Computer requested I compact the emails which I have done at least twice

However, on checking the recycle bin I note that there are items in there from the OE

I have been checking my recycle bin  and have done a' compact 'of the OE but it seems that the compacting sends things to the recycle bin?

What should happen if the computer asks for the  OE to be compacted? where does it send the compact?

I am having to go through the recycle bin line by line to see what I can safely completely delete but also when I try to restore an item it seems to  make a duplicate in the recycle bin !!

I can still read the emails in OE but where should the compacted emails  actually be saved? And how if at all can I get this corrected?

How if at all can this be corrected or resolved please?

Hello. How do I backup my individual emails and/or email folders? I'm using Vista. There are two programs on this computer: "Windows Email" and "Windows Live Email". The one I am using is "Windows Email". I have created folders on an external hard drive to receive the copies of emails, but the basic email information for the copied email is not the same as the original. So if I copy over the contents of a whole folder of emails, one cannot figure out how the copied email relates to the original email. I would like to be able to retain ALL the information about any email. Also, where do I find the Windows Mail folder containing all my emails, and what is the file extension for the emails?

I have an external drive that automatically backs up my files, but it does NOT back up my email messages. Any chance there is a way to make this happen?

Many thanks.

Maggie

I have Windows 7 Ultimate

When I plug my WD External HD in, it pops up and works fine for about 5 or so minutes. Then it gets real sloppy and the videos on it start to skip as if i were streaming them off the internet. Then it shuts down completely and windows says that the external is there. I don't 'think it is a virus because I hooked it up to a buds laptop and he said it worked fine and he watched a movie on it. I don't know what the problem is.

Answer:Western Digital shows up for about 5 minutes, then windows can't read

I would say the drive is in trouble, hardware wise. I assume you've tried a different USB port, and it's still failing after a bit of warm-up use. The problem is obviously occurring repeatedly, so it's not a one-off situation.

Buy a new one. They're under $110 for a Verbatim 2TB USB 2.0/3.0 drive (which is actually a SamSung SATA drive in an external USB enclosure). I recently bought two, for two machines. I also spent $15 more for a Transcend internal PCIe USB3.0 expansion card to go with each new drive, to add two USB 3.0 ports to each of my machines, to truly get the maximum USB 3.0 performance from these drives. They've performed flawlessly.

Fingers crossed you can get all the data copied from your bad one to the new one, and then just toss the old one.

Don't spend a lot of time looking for software explanations. Sounds like a hardware issue, and I'd just replace it if it were me. I can't explain why it seems to work reliably on your friend's machine, but I honestly would not think it's your machine or Win7 that's at fault. Not when it degrades over a 5-minutes of use period.

How much RAM do you have in your PC? Is this problem strictly when playing videos? What software are you using to play the videos? What does your memory utilization look like when the drive shuts down? Have you tried different software?

For Windows to literally no longer see the drive, it has to have dropped off... hardware wise. Do you hear the "hardware removed" sound?... Read more

Recently got the big update which successfully self-installed and I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit and Windows Mail version 6.0.

I went to my inbox, read my mail, and got out of Windows Mail. When I went to check mail again, I launched Windows Mail again and discovered that the program now deletes all opened mail.

I cannot find a setting within the program that allows/denies this.

I run a business from home, and all the threads from my customer service efforts are gone. I am working blind. Every call now is a first time contact, and that makes me look very, very bad.

Please advise, how do I keep opened mail in my inbox (or elsewhere). Does anyone else have that problem and know a solution?

Also, I deleted a large quantity of emails from other folders in case it was a memory problem; it all started concurrently with that update.

Answer:Windows mail deleting read mail

Right before my computer shuts down a message pops up stating a program is still running, but before I can read it the message is gone and windows 7 shuts down. Is there away to pause the message before shut down??

Answer:Message shows up briefly before windows 7 shuts down, to fast to read it.

That is a typical thing Win 7 does, it is nothing to worry about really, it is just telling you that a program is being stubborn about closing like the rest, I don't believe there is a way to stop or hesitate it before it goes down, but you can pull your task manager up and put the tab "processes" in front and watch, it may tell you what is not closing quick enough. There are programs out there that do work good with Windows 7 OS that you can set to auto terminate them on shutdown, that does away with the notification window. Good Luck

Some while ago I converted Windows Live Mail (running under Windows 7 Professional) to the old Windows Mail as shown in another section of this Forum. A couple of days ago I lost a number (not all) of my email folders but have found these in my weekly back-up and copied them to another drive. However, Windows Mail (modified) will not let me import these as the import options don't show a Windows Mail format. If I open an actual email on the other drive I can file the item correctly using the 'Move to' option. However, I have thousand of emails which need to be moved and this would take me weeks ! Can anyone tell me how to move these 'in bulk' ? I have created new folders and these are reflected in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders (1)

I have an old HDD from my previous PC in an external enclosure. I want to transfer the old Outlook Express files into my Windows Mail program, so that I can read my old emails. Can anyone tell me what files or folders I need to access on my old drive, and how to go about this.

Answer:Importing old emails into Windows Mail

I assume you want to copy the Emails and the Address book.If the old hard drive is still active, create a folder on the hard drive to hold data. Open Outlook Express and select (from taskbar) tile windows. Highligt the emails you want to keep and drag (or copy & Paste) to the folder you created. They will be saved as *.eml files. When you have copies all the emails you want, go to File, export, address book, other and select csv format (Excel). save this to the same folder. You should then be able to import the address book into Windows mail (you will have to check the procedure yourself). The Emails are now ordinary files and can be opened directly withthe mouse.hope this helpsTerry

I primarily use Windows Mail for my work at home job. I also have a Gmail account so I can check for e-mails on my iphone when I'm out. I want to have it set up so that the emails show up in both places, Windows Mail and Gmail.

Currently if my desktop computer is turned off and my Windows Mail program is not open, the incoming emails only go to Gmail and not Windows mail. OR, if my computer is up and running but the Windows mail doesn't happen to be open, the emails only go to Gmail and not Windows Mail. Seems like if my browser (IE8) is open but windows mail is not open, emails will only go to Gmail.

Do I have some settings wrong which would make the emails not show up in Windows Mail?

I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Answer:Emails sometimes go to gmail and not windows mail

Hi lindalo5032,

While researching for this issue, found a link which might help in fixing the issue: Leaving Mail on the Server with Windows Mail | Tiger Technologies Support

Ensure to check the box ?Leave a copy of messages on the server? and uncheck ?Remove from server after? and ?Remove from server when deleted from deleted items?. Click Apply and then OK.

Check if the new messages appear in Windows Mails and Gmail.

Please post the results.

Hi
I am on a local ISP (mail.naples.net) that uses POP3 and would like to use the Windows 10 mail client. I can receive emails no problem but am not able to send. It just stays in OUTBOX. The only error message I can find is 'attention required' in the accounts tab when I go there. Both my incoming and outgoing servers address are "mail.naples.net" My yahoo account with this client works fine. Your suggestions and help appreciated.

When I send an email from my Windows Live Mail, and have contracted words like it's, don't and so on, and quotation marks and other characters, the received email contains other characters I did not type. For example when I type it's, the receiver reads it as it?s When I type something with quotations like "hi how are you?", the receiver reads it like this ?hi, how are you??

How can I correct this? It's very annoying, to say the least!

Answer:How do I fix Windows Live Mail emails?

Check the character encoding option in WLM and see what you are using. It's probably something your receivers aren't using, which will cause those odd characters to be inserted in the emails.

I am the sole administrator and have two user accounts on an HP Vista Home Premium Edition laptop.
I operate my Windows Mail and my documents from a limited account but with a password on.
My other account is an administrator account with a different password on.
The only other users are family who only have a limited account so my emails remain private as my account has a password on.
If I take my computer in for repair can I configure it so the the Repairer cannot see my emails to retain their privacy?

I am having a problem with Vista Windows Mail. When I compose an email and use ‘Send’ it goes into the Outbox and sits there. If I then use ‘Send & Receive’ it doesn’t send either. To get it to send I have to shut down Windows Mail (with the red cross) and restart it again, then use ‘Send & Receive’ when it will send straight away. Even though the message is sent and appears as that in the Sent box, the Outbox file on the left hand menu shows emboldened is if there is a message sitting there, but there isn’t as it has been sent. The box ‘send messages immediately’ is ticked in Tools>Options>Send Tab.
I just wondered if anyone has any suggestions how to cure this. Is it possible to uninstall Windows Mail and re-install it?

I moved to Windows 10 recently. For e-mails I was using windows live mail 2012. I recd a mail from outlook telling me that after 30/06/16 I would have to migrate to mail for windows 10.

I did this and followed all the instructions.
When I went on to try and send a mail I discovered that contacts are now called people and you have to access them through people on the start button. Only half my contacts were there but if I go to https://people.live.com, they are all there. If you try and send a mail to more than 4 people at once, it is apparently not possible.

I send out a newsletter to approx 200 people every 6 months or so.
On windows live mail 2012 I could do this in 4 lots by BCC'ing 50 at a time.

Can someone tell me how to achieve this using mail for windows 10/ people.live.com
Thanks

I have multiple email accounts that I use in Windows mail. I have established rules so that emails that contain specific email addresses automatically move them into separate folders when they are received.

However I often receive bulk email where the address is not visible. I suspect one of my email adddresses is in the BCC address although it is not visible to me.

Is there any way I can write a rule to have these emails automatically moved to a corresponding folder. The only rules appear to apply to emails with TO or CC addressed emails.

Answer:Rules for BCC emails in Windows Mail

As far as I know the rules that are shown are the only rules available. I do not think that you will be able to find one that conforms to your situation. You may want to look at you bulk mail, anything in common? Maybe in the from section or maybe, sent to your attention in the subject will have common words. Other than that not much that I could think of.

If this important to you, possibly another mail client would suit your needs better.

Here is an extensive list of some clients.

MS and their mail systems are giving me grief. I have a Vista 32 PC using "Windows Mail" and want to transfer email folders (lots) and messages to Windows 7 using Windows Live Mail 2011.

Note: Windows Mail was a replacement for Outlook express on Vista.
Windows Live Mail 2011 is a replacement for Windows Mail on Windows 7.

I tried a couple of things.

1) Basic Export and ImportI exported relavent files: Account info, Contacts and all the messages to a folder (in Windows Mail format) on old computer and used the old "Addias" transfer - copied folder to stick and RAN it over to the new computer.
- Imported (using the Windows Mail format) the Account info successfully,
- imported the Contact info successfully.
- Import Messages - appeared at first to be successful

Issue: Message folders appear to be renamed and some folder names have been truncated, not all folders appear to be there. (Looks like "long Name folders greater that 8 characters get truncated)

So...

2) Tried the "Easy transfer mechanism (Vista and Win7 transfer utility) - but couldn't get the new computer to see the Vista even though I could see them on the network. I thought that this would transfer the folder names correctly.
I'm about to try a time consuming effort of coping folder by folder (export/Import)
What I am more concerned about is that the individaul messages may have the same issue Ie not all coming accross and subject names being lost.

Answer:Solved: Troubles transferring Windows Mail Vista to Win7 Windows Live Mail 2011

I get a little nauseous just thinking about Windows Live Mail 2011, much less expending effort to use it, but I would try installing it on the Vista and see if it has the option right up front of importing stuff from Windows Mail. If it does, and happens to work correctly, then all you would have to do is find its files and copy them over.

By the way, are you putting on airs with "Addias" transfer? We plebeians just used "sneaker net."

I’m running Tiger 10.4.5. The following is a minor annoyance but after awhile it just bugs the heck out of me. I'm using Excel 2004 for Mac, on a Mac mini.

I have many spreadsheets where I select a cell/cells, then drag down, and then do a Control–D to propagate the formula. That works great except the resulting cells all appear to be in (semi-)Bold. They actually aren’t in bold but definitely not normal mode, and I can get rid of the effect by doing a Command-B, twice (first time makes them REALLY bold then the second un-bolds them).

Has anyone run into this? Is there an easy resolution?

Thanks, P. French

Hi, I'm new to the forums, but I just went to use the Mail app in Windows 10 for the first time and noticed that a lot of my emails are being displayed in a weird way, mostly with images. Most notably with youtube emails:
Ex. 1

(personal info has been 'oranged' out)
An entire third of the screen is being used by a single line of text (also some words at the bottom of the email) that should really just be directly beneath the 'YouTube' logo banner.

This problem is exacerbated when the app is made smaller with window mode.
Is this just normal for the Mail app, or is there a way to make emails and images display 'correctly'? I'm not very savvy when it comes to fixing these sorts of things...
Cheers in advance.

My computer has been returned to me after a crash which required Windows 7 being reinstalled. Most of my data was recovered, but not my emails apparently. However, I can see a new folder on the hard drive which looks like it relates to Live Mail and which looks like it was recovered too (it's not in my usual user folder and it's dated the day of the crash/recovery), it is called AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsMail and contains all the files that I'd expect to see (ie it looks a lot like the folder of the same name which is under my user name). Could this contain all my old emails and if so, how do I access them? I've tried copying the files to the folder under my user name and I've tried asking Live Mail to import messages, but it couldn't see any.

I've lost four years worth of emails and all my up to date contacts, I'd really like to recover them.

It was working fine, had Live Mail 2011, and worded just fine....but then noticed I wasn't getting any new mail from my hotmail account like I used to. In fact, this error happened, where it said I had X number of new mail, and when I went to look, was only a few, but couldn't read or delete them, and there was gaps, like missing emails. I had tried adding Gmail to Live Mail, and then it started to download emails exceeding 15K, and will take forever, just to show hardly any new emails, if any, despite it saying it received 15K+ emails.

I tried repairing, uninstalling, reinstalling 2012 edition of Live Essentials. I even deleted the files in the Live mail folder on the hard drive after uninstalling it....but adding my hotmail account.....well, it won't retrieve new email (My gmail used to be picked up along with the hotmail as it's attached to it), and adding gmail results in over 15K downloads.

I don't know if it's settings...I never touched them, and it all used to work for years with no problem....this this one glitch happened that seems to cause all this grief for me.

I do have Windows 7, and not sure all the stats of my computer....just hope someone can help.

My email address recently changed due to me changing ISPs

I understand with WML, if I create the exact same name account, that I previously had setup, all my emails would restore itself.
Problem is: I have no idea what the exact name of the account was.

After installing Vista I opened Windows Mail - everything went smoothly. However now every time I start Mail it downloads all my previous emails from my Verizon server (approx 9000). I want to leave all my emails on the server so I can access them when at other locations. I have tried everything to get it to stop downloading these, now have 40,000+ emails in mail 5-6 copies of each. Never had this problem with Outlook express and can't use that with Vista. Is there any way to stop it from doing this short of deleting all past emails from server?

You can try just using only the webmail, or setting up a remote access solution so you can view emails from your client at home, regardless of where you are.

Every email that appears in my Windows mail (Windows 8.1) is duplicated. An online search for information is either outdated or applies to a different OS. Hi all, new forum member here and I thank you in advance if this has already been answered. I am rather enjoying the new Mail feature in 8.1 and it is "mostly" effortless to have all emails collectively in the one app. Problem I am having is I do sometimes need to send an email as an attachment to a web based submission form and it requires of course that I have the file/email saved locally so I can browse to it and attach.

I am completely stymied as to how to do this as there is no way to save locally (other than then the backup path in AppData which the App already does) just certain emails I would prefer to save them as either a .txt or .html or even just a plain old .docx file in My Documents folder, so I can then send it in on in a format preferable by the recipient I am sending to.

I read through this post here on the forums:

Mail App - Backup Email Messages in Windows 8

And while it makes sense, I still see no way to save a particular email other than as an .eml. Why is there not a simple feature such as save or save as within the Mail App itself?

Any guidance and help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Jordan

Answer:Windows Mail in 8.1 Saving emails to Documents?

There are several ways to do it that I can think of. The first and easiest would be to simply select all the text from the email and copy/paste it to a new text document on your PC which could be then attached to the web submission form.

Another way would be to print the email to a file. I have the free version of Primo PDF installed which installs as a printer on your machine. When I want to print to a file, I select Primo PDF as my printer and it outputs the printout to a PDF file. If you would prefer plain text then there are programs out there that would do that.

Hello,

I recently discovered that there is no backup or mail export feature in the Windows 10 Mail app. I need this capability so I intend to move to another email client (probably Thunderbird). I have two accounts in the W10 mail app, one Gmail and one POP3 account. The Gmail is no problem as a copy of everything remains on the Gmail server, however I cannot work out how to export or extract my mail from the POP3 account in W10 Mail. Is there a third party utility that can extract the emails from W10 Mail? Is there a specific location where the mail is stored so that I might extract it and import it into Thunderbird?

I'm sure many other folks are struggling with this. The Windows 10 Mail app is attractive, but has limited functionality compared to many other email clients, so there must be a lot of people who have tried it and wanted to move to some other email client. There has got to be a solution, but I have done a lot of searching and found little of substance.

For POP3 most ISPs provide an Online/Webmail feature on their site, just log in using the POP3 account [user name and password]. A feature on most is to leave a copy on the Server and settings as to when or if the messages are deleted from the Server.

Hi & HELP !!

My email provider inadvertantly suspended my a/c, I spoke with an "operative" who told me to delete the email account and re-enter all the details. In doing so I have lost all my emails sent and received. I have been into:
computer/OS(C)/users/neil/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook to restore the files via a right click and restore from backup, but I get the message:
Restore skipped restoring the file: C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage Folders\Inbox\0F5A0748-00000001.eml to original location.

I have tried using the Restore facility but also to no avail......I am broken!!

BTW O/S Windows 7

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome,

What restore did you use. There are 3. The one that will definately work is system image. Hopefully, you have kept it up to date. If that does not work try backup and restore. I doubt if system restore will work in this scenario.
