java32 bit installer error on 64bit machine

Question: java32 bit installer error on 64bit machine

Hi

I have a surface pro running Win 8.1 and im fairly sure I have up to date Java. I am a bit of a non technical guy but keep my pc up to date. Im trying to install some software (touchgraph) and failing at first hurdle as it throws the error as shown in image below (which says cant locate suitable 32bit JRE). Can you help?

Preferred Solution: java32 bit installer error on 64bit machine

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: java32 bit installer error on 64bit machine

First thing to do might to check and be absolutely sure you have the 32-bit JRE or JDK installed. You might have installed the 64-bit JRE/JDK instead thinking that you needed to use that because you had a 64-bit OS. Both the 32 and 64-bit JRE/JDK should be able to peacefully coexist on the same system, so no need to uninstall one just to install the other.

Hi,

Seen some very helpful posts on here whilst trying to resolve my issue mentioned above, so thought I'd join up and see if anybody could advise on my issue.

Trying to install IE11 on a Windows 7 64bit machine with SP1 installed.

Machine previously had IE8, went to IE11 direct download from the website, which resulted in an error saying it had failed to install.
Tried performing the update from Windows Update, on system restart the machine had IE10 installed with the error "9C59", having researched this error code it seems it's not very informative.

Microsofts suggestion for this code was to uninstall IE9 and try again.
I uninstalled IE10, tried again, and then uninstalled IE9, tried again, same result each time.

I then ensured all Pre-Requisite updates had been installed by manually checking each one from microsofts website, then repeated the installation attempt, no luck.

Ran the SUR tool, which seems to indicate no issues.
Then SFC, which has highlighted a few errors.

I've attached the CheckSUR.log, CheckSUR.persist.log and the SFC details from the CBS.log.

Hopefully somebody has some pointers into how this issue can be resolved.

Thanks in advance, your time and expertises are greatly appreciated.

Answer:IE11 won't install on Windows 7 64bit Machine, Error 9C59

I'm no expert so wont try to read logs but Googling this as "ie11 install error 9c59" I would say you need to ensure two things. That you've done an Elevated Disk Cleanup (Tutorial Step 6 HERE) and ensure that your system is otherwise fully up to date. IE11 wont install until SP1 is installed and you haven't mentioned that. Is your system totally up to date otherwise?

SP1 installs easier if you disable any antivirus during the process.

G'day all! (first post here!! :P)

Ok..so this is my situation:

I have a server...and i have installed a printer to it - the Canon LBP 3200 - the server is a 32bit machine running win7 pro...anyways...this printer does not have ANY 64bit drivers (which my main machine runs win7 ulti x64) so i am unable to install the printer on my main machine...

I was wondering, is there a way to share it from the server to the 64bit machine without installing any drivers?

Or is there a way to install 32bit drivers on a 64bit Machine?

Or can anyone find any 64 bit drivers/custom 64bit drivers?

:S

Thanx all!!

Answer:Sharing a printer from 32bit machine to 64bit machine without drivers.

ok so i tried this method: Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.

Choose Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.

A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name. Type in the \\computer name\printer name ie. My computer's name is basement and the printer name is EpsonSty so I typed in \\basement\epsonsty

But when i make my own port name it says access is denied... :S

any help?

Laptop Toshiba Satelite X205-SLi6
This laptop has a built in IR receiver with an RC6 Toshiba remote. It works great with Vista 32 ultimate and Windows-7 32bit ultimate and plays media software well. Since Windows-7 64bit does not detect the IR receiver hardware the Toshiba drivers will not install even though the drives are marked 32/62 bit.
Please, someone at Microsoft tell me why Win-7 64bit installer does not recognize the IR hardware. No, it is not in the list of Hardware devices.

I just upgraded to Win 7 64 bit from 32 bit. Have a few problems now.

#1 is trying to install Windows7-USB-DVD-tool so I am able to burn a copy of Win 7 64 bit w/SP1 to a DVD. I get the error shown in the image. I follow the path and the file is there. Now what?

#2 is every time I reboot, the screen resolution has changed to 256 color. I have to change it to True Color 32 bit (highest shown to change). How to fix?

Thanks for any help.

Answer:Win installer & screen resolution after upgrade to 64bit

Did you do a Windows Update after the install to get the latest device drivers? That often helps.

Dear all, Off late my laptop has been throwing weird ntdll.dll and other such .dll errors in the middle of gameplay. It's downright irritating to the point that now it's become infuriating. Would re-installing my Windows 7 64bit OS help get rid of these errors? I am assuming it would, and tried to download the Windows 7 64bit installer s/w from Microsoft's website using the serial key given at the back of my laptop. To my ultimate irritation, the site threw a message saying that this particular OS has been installed by the hardware provider (HP) and I should contact them directly...WHAT?!?! Would be grateful if the experts here would help put me out of my misery! Thanks in advance!

Answer:Windows 7 64bit installer for HP Pavilion DV7-4183CL

You can reinstall the Windows 7 version that your notebook was delivered with by using the recovery disk set or usb recovery media.   The media was suposed to have created by you with the use of  the HP Recovery media creator utility.   You should have created  one or the other  shortly after you setup your notebook for the first time. In the search box type in recovery and you should see an HP Recovery media creator and an HP Recovery Manager appear, unless you happen to have deleted it already.  You can still create the recovery media if you didn't do it before, unless you happen to have deleted the HP Recovery media Creator utility.  If you live in North America you can check www.Computersurgeons.com to see if they sell the recovery media. HP does not stock recovery media for notebooks and desktop PC past three years of introduction into the market.

Answer:64Bit on a 32Bit Machine?

It depends on your CPU. You can't install a 64bit os on a computer with a 32bit processor,

Use this utility to find out. Any modern processor is 64bit.

Not sure what recommendations you are asking for, but depending on the game/server it seems the machine will run well for what you ask of it.

Hi there !

I'm user of windows 10 Pro 64bit.
I have version 1607 , OS build 14393.447.

I'm using this system/computer for producing music.
So, there are various VST instruments installed.
One program/instrument requires, when i load it, activation keys and machine ID (freshly installed windows).
Ok, so far so good.
I can register that plugin and all keys are working.
But, after some time , i guess, machine ID changes and i must require activation keys again.
That happened after weekly updates or last time i didn't even have computer connected to internet for about one week and activation keys appeared again.
Why is that happening, like machine ID is changing very often.
I don't remember that in windows 8.1 or earlier versions, just when re-installing windows or major updates.

Hello all,
My job has me traveling 100% of the time, so I cannot go a day without a laptop. I recently found out that my computer does not like Jameson and Coke as much as I do, so I had to purchase another one asap. I'm working contract work right now on Navy installations, and as more than a few of you here know, that the NEX does not really carry next gen machines. I have the old hard drive out of my old machine and am using a SATA to USB cable to pull all of my information off of it. I than ran into a problem when trying to do some reports. I use a program called Neat Receipts for documention of expenditures and it will not run on Vista 64 bit.

Long story short, I was wondering if was at all possible to boot from my old laptops hard drive via the cable?

I was also wondering, I purchased a HP Pavilion DV2940SE because it was the "best" laptop they had there. But I ran a test and found it will not perform in the new up and coming MMO, Warhammer. I was wondering if there was any way to change the graphics card out of this system without causing more problems.

Thanks a lot!

Answer:New Machine w/ Vista 64bit

You can't boot Windows from an external drive. Since 64-bit Windows isn't supported, you'd have to install a 32-bit version of Windows if you need to use this program.

Very few laptops allow the video cards to be swapped. As far as I know, HP laptops don't support this either.

It seems like I have a Windows Installer Service issue. My OS is Vista 64bit Home Premium.

Certain programs are not installing (Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to name one). Win 7 Upgrade Advisor gave this error message when trying to install:

Most programs install fine, but this, .NET Framework 2.0, and some other installers have issues and can never install. I have not had any issues uninstalling programs.

What can I do to repair the Windows Installer Service or fix this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.

Does it really matter if I install 32bit XP on a 64bit machine? I'm particularly concerned that games might not perform as well as they otherwise would. I'm aware that 32 bit XP will only accommodate a maximum of 4GB RAM, but apart from that, is there any difference?

Answer:[SOLVED] 32bit XP for a 64bit machine

There'll be no problem at all, the 32bit version has better drivers support and better compatibility with older softwares. The memory shouldn't be a problem either, I don't think there are many games around that can make use of more than 2GB of RAM.

Note that XP 32bit will probably not detect 4GB of memory if you have 4GB installed. If you want more information about that you can read this thread starting at "About the memory now". It won't make a big difference with games anyway, once you have more than 1GB of RAM the things that really matter are your CPU and video card performances.

Apps that are designed specifically to take advantage of the 64bit features will perform faster on a 64bit OS, but most of these are professional apps. Games may perform better if they can benefit from faster memory access but you shouldn't see a big difference.

Ok The title pretty much sums it up, The story goes like this, on the 23/6/2012 i got my new PC after tossing out my old AMD machine the specs are as followed:

Motherboard - Intel DH67CL (With latest Bios version)
CPU - Core I5 3550 Quad core processor (Ivy Bridge)
RAM - 12 GB RAM
Graphics - Default HD graphics 2500
Audio - Onboard Realtek hd Audio
HDD - 1TB HDD
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate x64 edition SP1
AV - Avg free 2013 - Was 2012

Now for the first 2 months it absolutly rocked i only ever got one BSOD in the entire 2 months and it was due to something stupid i did, besides that it was a perfect machine, anyway Then something happened to my windows (i suspect it was a damaged file or Virus), I had to remove windows and re-install it again i changed nothing, i put the same software, the same drivers, The same everything But ever since then i will constantly be getting random BSOD's at any given time for no apperant reason, even while running idle, sometimes it would run for 2 or three days non stop, then suddenly I'd decide to play a game and it would halt and display the BSOD.

I know i don't have heating issues, the temparature remains well within the 40's so its not getting hot, I tried installing SP1 hoping it would fix it, but no such luck, I take good care of my OS I regularly use cleaning tools like Ccleaner, Regcure, AVG, I defrag my disks every month and so forth but that doesn't seem to solve the problem, I tried running SFC /Scannow, it told me there were problems ... I have been trying to install Vista for days now on my new gaming machine but it just won't work. I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Rev 2.1 mobo, Gigabyte 8800GT graphics card, 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB drives in RAID 0 and 4GB of TEAM Xtreem Dark PC2-6400 CL4 ram. I have been into the BIOS and enabled RAID and setup a RAID array in RAID BIOS. I have also downloaded the correct RAID driver from the Gigabyte website and I load it when windows prompts me.

Here is what's happening.

Everything good during windows install until it gets to completing installation part. Computer restarts as it says and then continues to install windows. Screen goes black and I lose power to mouse, keyboard and all usb ports. Any ideas?

If it is my RAID array being incorrectly setup what would it be that I have done wrong? The BIOS seems very simple so I don't quite know how I would have made a mistake. The only thing I can think of is the stripe size part which I left at 128KB.

I have 4GB of ram in 4x1GB sticks which came in pairs. I put one pair in one colour slot and the other pair in the other colour slot. Could this be an issue? I haven't done anything with the ram in the BIOS.

In the BIOS do I need SATA AHCI Mode enabled? It's currently disabled.

I put my drives in the yellow SATAII0 and SATAII1 ports and my cd drive in the SATAII2 port. Is this correct?

I'm fresh out of ideas guys, please help.

Answer:Can't install Vista 64bit on new machine

The thing I keep seeing all over this forum is when you have 4x1GB of ram remove two of them and try again. Once you're set up and running with all downloaded patches and SP1 put your ram back in.

I hope this helps

Hi All -
I recently built a new Win7-64bit machine which is suffering from somewhat random BSOD's (I have encountered 4 BSOD's in the past 11 days). I have the latest BIOS installed and I think I have updated all of my drivers updated. 3 of the 4 BSOD titles have been MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (the 4th was SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION), so I have run 2 different memory checks - both of which passed at 100%. The machine is for development, so SQL2008, VS2008, IIS along with Outlook, etc. are all running when it crashes. Finally, it mostly crashes at night (when unattended). Hopefully some of these clues help.

I have attached a zip of all 4 Mini dumps in txt form. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a problem and the only way I can possibly get around this problem is by having both the 64 bit and 32 bit OS installed on my PC.

I have an Epson Stylus PhotoRX685 all in one printer, for which the drivers for the scanner don't work on Windows 7 x64bit. I have been on to customer support and have been duly informed that they are not going to be making a compatable driver for the printer. I have already tried to use the Vista x64 bit driver but to no avail.

Because I cannot afford to buy a new scanner I want to install both the OS's on my PC in the hope that the x32bit driver the Windows 7 will work the scanner.

Here is my plan, I got 2 HDD's on my PC one 500GB and one 80GB, I have just created a 75GB partition on my 500GB HDD which also has the OS installed on it. I use the smaller HDD for my back ups, and I would ideally like to continue to use this HDD for my backups as it is a separate HDD.

Would I be able install the x32bit OS to the partition on the 75GB partition which is on the HDD that my main OS is on, or would I have to put it on the separate HDD?

Would I then be able to then somehow create some sort of network or would it be possible for me to just access the images that I would have scanned without having to put them on a flash drive or DVD or something and if so how?

Also would it be possible for me to us the XP mode to see if my printer would work in that or is the XP mode not a virtual machine?

All your help is greatly appreciated.

By any chance is there some way to find it even if i dont know the manufacturer of my mobo?

Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

I currently have two 64 bit laptops that I'd like to downgrade to Windows XP Pro 32 bit.

Both are HP dv6 models.

The first is I believe a dv6-1350us and is running Windows Vista.

According to the tech guy he says I have to install a 64-bit operating system like XP Pro 64. I'd like to confirm if this is really true or not.

The second computer is dv6-1355dx and running Windows 7 Home Premium. So can I downgrade this to XP Pro 32 bit?

Supposedly there are drivers available to make this change. But according to my tech guy he believes I have to use a 64 bit operating system with a 64 bit machine. So maybe Windows XP Pro 64 bit would work.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

hi everyone,

I barely bought a hp pavillion dv4-1283cl Laptop. It already had windows vista 64 bit on it. I really dont like this system since first of all I feel i'm not quite in charge and second of all it doesn't work with a couple of my devices.
Anyways, I want to 1) either completely get rid of vista and get XP instead
Or 2) have xp installed alongside, if i'm not wrong called dual booting.

In order to achieve my initial goal, I put my bootable xp cd in the drive and booted from the cd, So the xp would start loading the files but at some point i would get an error message and system wouldn't do anything further so i had to restart the system. It wouldn't damage my Vista either, so i could start vista normally and used it.
here is part of the error message:
"check for viruses on your computer (I'm sure i dont have any). Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure its properly configured and terminated."

Now i'm even content if i could have xp along the vista (64 bit) if thats possilbe at all.
Using Vista's disk shrink function, i created a new partition on the C drive, just in case i could get the xp installed on it. but like i said, it wouldn't boot from the cd and when i run the xp CD in the Vista , it doesn't let me install it or do anything.

I'm positive that xp should be able to run on this machine some how, cuz on hp's website i could ... Read more

Will 32bit hardware work in a 64bit machine?

I'm upgrading from win7 32bit to Win7 64bit. I'm having trouble with my sound card. It is 32bit. There are no 64bit drivers for it. However it is a Sound Blaster PCI 128 (I'm assuming 'bit'). I know its old but its reliable and it has served me very well in the past.

It doesn't seems to be able to install win Win7 64bit. (It did before on win7 32bit) The error message says "incorrect handlers" when I install the drivers.

I wonder if I have to buy a whole new soundcard or is there a trick to installing 32bit hardware on a 64bit machine.

With no 64-bit drivers available, you are going to need a new card.

I've had some drama with a corrupted BOOT drive. To cut the story short I need to do a clean install on a brand new HD. I have created a Windows Easy Transfer file on an external drive.

I'm about to format the C: drive and do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version. All my applications are still installed on two other drives in the same machine. I had nothing installed on the C: drive. When I transfer my settings back to my C: drive from the MIG file will I still need to re-install all my apps or will it pick them in situ, as I haven't modified any of the other drives?

Answer:Transfer to same machine (Win7 64bit ultimate)

You must reinstall all programs to a newly installed OS because they write registry keys which integrate themselves into the OS until uninstalled, which is also why they should be installed on the same partition with the OS.

You can separate your data out to another partition so if you must reimage Win7 on C because it becomes irreparable, your data is intact, current and waiting on the other partitiion.

I do not recommend Easy Transfer because it can fail and you must try to pry your data out of it. Easier to just drag your User folders to external.

Is there something I need to do to prepare my HDD to go into the HP PC?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with one of our laptops that keeps getting random BSOD.  I've attached the minidump and I've used BlueScreenView program to view the log and here's what it says:
- BAD_POOL_HEADER
- PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
- KMKODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
- IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad E540 and I've used the Lenovo System Update to update the drivers such as wireless NIC and also the BIOS but laptop is still getting BSOD.  Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Edgar

I am unable to get upgraded to IE 10 and I ran accross a post via google where you fixed it what appears to be the same for someone else, and I'm hoping for the same.

It goes through the installation process, then reads "restarting programs" before getting the installation failed message, the installation error code I get through Win Update is 9C59

Tried installing with a clean boot with no result.
I ran the sfc /scannow and attached the csb dir, I had to break it into two zips as it was over the 8mb limit.

Thanks

Hi every one,

i have this machine which is causing too much headache for me,

this machine was having Windows XP 64 Bit,
and it had a lot of BSOD crashes, then i just decided that it's the time to make the move to Windows 7 for this high performance machine, since i was not able to upgrade to Windows 7 because of some applications just working on Windows XP 64 Bit, but now there is a copy of it,

Any way i'm still having those BSOD crashes,
I have replaced the SSD 500GB hard drive with another regular hard drive with no results,
tried to remove and install nVidia Driver,
tried to install a different version of that driver with no results,
tried to remove McAfee AV and installed Kaspersky Internet security 2013 also no result,

now i have grabbed all the data using SF Tool, and i really hope that u can help me with that issue.

thank you

I want to upgrade a 2008 Win7 Pro 32bit computer to Win7 Ultimate 64bit.

Have new mobo, processor, 16gb memory, 256gb SSD. Would like to be able to use my 32bit programs for a while, until I can replace them with 64bit progs.

How can I do this? Or do I need to have two machines?

I have searched this forum and found some old posts that suggested I start a new thread.

Very grateful for your help.

Answer:How can I run 32bit programs on a 64bit machine? Windows 7 / Ultimate

Most 32bit apps will run fine on 64bit Windows, unless they have 32bit driver dependencies or include 16bit code.

What apps are you using, specifically, that you are concerned about? You might want to search the compatibility catalog first to see if any have been officially tested and submitted:

Firstly, I keep getting all these spam emails I can't get rid of. They are from randomly generated hotmail accounts soliciting porn. I have Adaware and spybot, as well as Kaspersky Internet Security. Adaware and spybot both give a clean report, but the emails continue. I am using an online mediacom email host, nothing like Outlook or anything like that. I've never had an issue like this and I have no idea where I could have possibly picked this crap up from. I'm quite careful about what I put on my machine and I am somewhat computer savvy. I'm running Vista 64.

Also, on a side note, Kaspersky has been of no use to me as of yet, I've had a few issues with it. Firstly, the databases are always obsolete, even immediately after an update. Secondly, it's always telling me "training" is required on 50 spam emails. When I go into this it appears that Outlook is the only email thing it can help me out with. Most importantly however, after a system scan, the program reports multiple viruses/trojans, but the "disinfect" option is faded out and I cannot clean the detected threats. Anyone that has some experience with this application willing to help me out?

I recently installed Windows 10 Enterprise Eval build 10240 (64bit) on my Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014) but when I try to install drivers all drivers give me this error: "The update installer operation is unsuccessful".

Without drivers laptop is useless and I am in so much trouble.
So please fix your drivers for Inspiron 15 (5547) and check them on same laptop with same version of windows before uploading on your database.

Thanks

Hi,

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on my laptop. For last few days I have not been able to install windows updates. I get the error with code 80070641.

After wandering through different forums and suggested solutions, I followed this path - control panel > system and maintenance > administrative tools > services > windows installer (double clicked and saw that the start-up type is 'Automatic'). When I clicked on the 'Start the service' button in the left panel here, I got the following message:

Windows could not start the windows installer service on local computer.
Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.

Can anybody help me resolve this problem and bring my Windows Installer back on the track?

By the way, later, I did this -

I am working on a Dell Studio 1745 running Win7 64 Home Premium. I need to run a piece of hardware (Tascam US122) that is incompatiable with the 64bit OS. My plan is to partition the drive and install Win 7 32bit on the new partition so I can run the mentioned hardware. I've done this on another machine (Dual Boot XP and Win 7) and ran into a problems with the bootloader. I learned to install older OS FIRST because of that. I'm wondering if installing Win7 32bit on a current Win7 64bit machine will cause a similar problem with bootloaders? I'd rather not have to mess with the bootloaders, but I really need to run this hardware. And, since this is a Dell, with touchscreen, and most IMPORTANTLY, a friend's computer I want to be 100% sure I'm not going to cause issues I can't fix.

So, again, will installing Win7 32bit on a new partition of a Win7 64bit machine cause problems with the bootloader, or any other foreseeable problems?

Thanks a bunch!

Recently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working.
The error is;
Error opening files for writing.

Picture;

What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Win7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).

If you need additional information, don't hesitate to ask.

Hello!  I haven't used my desktop in forever (about 4yrs) and finally decided to hook it up to my tv.  After a little bit of funds and assistance, I finally got it working.

Anyhoo...at one time I had itunes downloaded.  Now I can't find it in Programs.  I can find a couple of files titled "itunes music" and  "itunes music library" in one of the users on this comp but when trying to open these files I receive these errors:
"itunes music" - "Application has failed to start because it's side by side configuration is incorrect.  Please see the application event log for more detail"
"itunes music library - Opens up in a new window of html log.

I researched and found to uninstall and then reinstall itunes and Quicktime.  I can't find itunes in Programs.  I tried to download itunes and receive this error "Could not access network location %APPDATA%."  I researched this error and found to download update to Windows Vista then download itunes and Quicktime afterwards.  I tried to download and received this error "Installer encountered and error 0x80070424 The specified service does not exist as an installed device."

Can I find these drivers somewhere or what should my next steps be?

I've found what should be the solution here...

Yesterday I was infected with the 'Windows Fixdisk' malware/virus. I used the bleepingcomputer guide to get rid of it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-windowsfixdiskThe steps included installing Malwarebytes and RegTweaker (my mistake). I bought the registered versions. I cleaned things up with both programs, and Malwarebytes is now running in the background. Now, after getting rid of the 'Windows Fixdisk' issue, I decided to install an up-to-date version of Comodo internet security. Hi, I didn't know where else to poste this. I also searched the forums & couldn't find a specific answer or resolution.

We've recently upgraded to Windows 7. I am trying to reinstall a program we have called HomeTech Advantage onto each computer. It's worked on 3 out of 5. The other two give me this error when running the setup file:

Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: DWUS_Unregister. C3A146F5_4B48_11D5_A819_00...

Thanks in advance.

It sounds as you have a virus/bug onboard. Win 7 uses WI version 5 and no download available from what I've read. Try running all your security software from safe mode. Reboot and run the system file checker at least twice. See if that helps.

From doing a little research, your windows temporary folder may have limited permissions. Copied and pasted instructions:
Click Start, type %temp% in the Start Searchbox, and then press Enter to see the default temporary folder.
In the address bar (at the top of the window), click the folder to the left of Temp (it is named "Local" by default).
In the folder list, right-click the Temp folder, and then select Properties.
Click the Security tab, and then click Edit.
Click Add.
Type Everyone, and then click Check Names. "Everyone" should now be underlined.
Select Full Control under Allow, and then keep clickingOK to exit all windows.

I've searched for help on Google and all references indicate I need to reinstall the Windows Installer, but I cannot find any downloads to enable me to do this for the version shipped with the BETA.Any help would be very much appreciated.ThanksC

Answer:Windows Installer error - Error 1723.

Can you install other applications that make use of Windows installer?  If so, then your issue is probably with your Java download.

Go here for an interactive installation: http://java.com/en/.
Go here to download the full binaries for an offline installation: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp.

If you do have issues with installing other applications via the Windows installer, open up an elevated command prompt and type SFC /VERIFYNOW.  Wait out the scan.  When finished, do a SFC /? to see the available actions you can take.

Hi, whoever's reading this.

I recently wiped my drive with both diskpart -> full clean and clean to try and fix up my drive so that I could use it again after a nasty virus infection, but nothing seems to be working right now, including my drive. After my most recently diskpart -> clean, I tried to reinstall Win7, and got an error during the installation; after rebooting, I got a different error that seems to loop in a reboot->error->reboot cycle.

The error title is "Install Windows", and the text reads:
The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, then restart the installation.

I got a Win7 repair .iso online and burned it to a USB and made a bootable USB. I also have my Win7 upgrade disk that I've been using to reinstall Win7, but regardless of which method I use, I get the error and get kicked right back out. I've tried to do as much as I possibly can to fix/diagnose/anything this issue, but I haven't figured much out, and google doesn't seem to have much either.

Help, anyone?

Answer:Error while installing Win7 64bit; 'Unexpected error'

wipe the disk once again with DiskPart and Clean.

Go to this website and download the desired ISO, burn the ISO to DVD and install Win 7.

Getting a "windows could not load the installer for display" error message. Spoke with Dell, they say that my video card has gone bad. Error came when I tried to update my video driver. I have a Nvidia GeForce 5200 AGP 128mb ddr card. Running on Windows XP.
Dell Demension 4600.
Already tried all of the uninstall old driver, and so forth in device manager. Tried using driver cd that I got from Dell to reinstall video drivers. Keep getting same error message.
Video Controller has yellow circle with exclamation point in it in device manager.
Should I spend the money and try a new card or could this be a different problem?

Hi,

Every time I try to install a program that uses Microsoft's installer (msi) I end
up getitng an error message. I don't have any problems installing programs that don't
use msi.
I tried looking at the "services" and the windows installer service is set to "manual".
However, it fails to start when I try to manually start it..

I tried to look at microsoft's support database but couldn't find any problem similar
to this..

Has someone experienced this type of error before?
Any suggestions?

Question: installer error

i installed adobe reader 8 and now everytime i put another cd in to install a program i get windows installer coming up installing adobe reader 8 again. the only way i can install anything is to go to the cd and hit explore and run the install file. how do i fix this? thanks

Answer:installer error

Hi nym11

See if this helps:

1) Uninstall Adobe 8 from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
2) Download and run CCleaner --- http://www.download.com/CCleaner/300...-10315544.html --- use the Cleaning functions to clean up your temp files, and use the "Issues" functions to clean up trouble in the Registry. Run the "issues" function until it reports "no issues found".
3) Download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility --- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 --- if Adobe still appears in the list, use the utility to remove it. You can, if you wish, remove the Windows Installer itself, and then download a fresh copy from Windows Update.
4) Download a completely fresh copy of Adobe 8 directly from their site --- http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html . Disable any download manager software while downloading - these programs can cause data corruption (usually not enough to bother music or video download quality , but enough to spell disaster for executable files)

See if that does it
. . . Gary

Question: Installer Error

I'm trying to re-install "PCPEInstaller" monitoring software for my UPS.
Somehow my previous installation got corrupted. I was able to get it uninstalled with CCleaner. However, when I go to re-install it, I only get the option to remove, so I do. And I end up with the attached error.

I believe Win 7 monitors all that, avoiding use of the software? How would I see all that information to check the settings. However, the previous install needs to be removed. Any ideas on how and avoid that error?

Thanks all

Answer:Installer Error

I would d/l Revo Uninstaller Free and see if it can find and remove the program. In the past I would recommend the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, but it has an issue with files on Windows 7.

   Note
Important The Windows Installer Cleanup utility (MSICUU2.exe) that was previously referred to in this article was discontinued. Although the Windows Installer Cleanup utility resolved some installation problems, it sometimes damaged other components that were installed on the computer. Because of this, the tool was removed from the Microsoft Download Center.

Hello everyone:

This question has probably been posted before, but I am a bit overwhelmed about all the info that I've read.

I have been trying to install Itunes for the past three days for my son's new Ipod Touch 4G.

My OS is Windows XP. The program downloads fine but when I try to install it I get the message: "iTunes Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

It has happened with my desktop and my laptop. I've tried creating a new user account, erasing, deleting or uninstalling Quicktime, Real Player and Itunes and reinstalling again to no avail. I would like to understand why this is happening. Never had a problem installing a program before and feel very frustrated.

Started Technical on line course yesterday. Told to remove XP Small Business Office 2002 and install Office 2003 from Technical School web site. Asked if Outlook would disappear and the Academic Support person said "no".
Removed XP Small Business Office from OS and Outlook disappeared with all files. Used restore feature of XP Pro and got "Error 1635" Installer error. No office program works. "Microsoft Outlook has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." Original Installation CD for Small Business doesn't work. Installing "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility" results in an error message that flashed too fast to read, then the program closed. When reopened the installer for XP Small Bussiness Office 2002 was gone. Reinstalling the software from the installation cd resulted in the product key being rejected as invalid. What can I do to restore my office programs so that I don't loose all the information in Outlook?

Answer:MS Installer Error 1635

Anytime you upgrade office, back up your mail files before you do anything else. The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\user_id\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook . They originals may or may not be there after your uninstalls/reinstall. check the creation dates on the files. If the dates are all from yesterday, then you probably lost them.

Back to your issue:

I believe the 2003 Office Resource Kit has an uninstaller that works with previous versions. Go Here and grab the Office 2003 Editions Resource Kit. You will need to scroll down about 1/3rd of the page to see it. Run that and then reinstall.

As to outlook being present in Office 2003, it depends on which version you have as outlook is not present in the home/student version but is included in all others.

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Try using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. As long as you installed the application using the Windows Installer, this utility will remove all the folders, files, registry keys, and entries from your system and allow you to start over with a clean slate.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Locate and run msicuu2.exe to install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
Locate and launch the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility on the Start menu.
From the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility window, locate the application in the list and click the Remove button.
Once the application has been removed, click the Exit button to close the utility.

You may now reinstall the application

There are a couple of MS things you could try for this - Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled

If this fails to run because of an unexpected error then try the .NET Framework Repair Tool - use the first one in the list to cover v.3.5 back over and then the full v4.0 for your OS version - Version 2 of the Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool is available

If you still receive the install error message then MS has this more in depth set of steps - Error "The Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed" when installing or updating programs on Windows 7 or Windows Vista

I can't seem to install anything that requires Windows Installer. I get this error every time.

I've tried Reregistering it, but that didn't seem to work. I think I reinstalled it, not sure if I did it correctly, but that didn't work either.

I was told to reformat completely to fix it, but I'd rather not because I'd spend a ton of time backing things up as well as reinstalling so many things.

This message may come up when there are previous versions or installations of Office 2000 or other versions. Uninstall any other versions of Office, delete files and check the registry for any entries under Microsoft Office.

When the machine thinks it has no records of previous MS Office, it may then install Office 2000.

it seems the dword adjustment had no effect. I then attempted a clean boot like so...

1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.

3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.

4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.

5. Click OK.

6. When you are prompted, click Restart.

7. After the computer starts, check if the issue is fixed.

If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the following KB article to narrow down the exact source:

Also, see the section on how return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under ?Reset the computer to start as usual?, after performing the clean boot troubleshooting.

Try installing the Windows Installer 4.5. Download: Windows Installer 4.5 - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details
If this still fails, go to Start/Run and type control userpasswords and press enter. Create a new User with Admin rights. Log out of the user you are in and log in as the new user. If so, go to C:\Documents and Settings\ open up your old User Profile folder and Copy the My Documents, Favorites, Desktop and Start Menu folders and Paste them into your new profile overwriting the old Empty ones.

Hello,

I have Microsoft Office 2003 installed on my computer. When I want to put a border/picture on a word document I find there is none installed. I ask the computer to install them and it comes up with the above error asking to check patch path valid or contact vendor.

I have tried to uninstall 2003 but cant due to the above error also. I had a quick look around google which suggested uninstalling and reinstalling plus for windows. I did this but it didnt solve the problem. I searched this forum and came up with an idea to use Windows Install clean up which apparently removes the programme - problem: scared to incase I am left with a computer with no office suite (husband uses it for work and has an awful lot of documents on it). Has anyone used this at all for the sam error.

I know the disc is fine as I have installed the same programme on my second computer, and everything has installed.

Advice please,
