How do I set up second Yahoo account on Outlook 2013

Question: How do I set up second Yahoo account on Outlook 2013

How do I set up second Yahoo account on Outlook 2013?

One yahoo account has worked for a year. This was a new account opened exclusively on a new computer with a virgin Outlook 2013.

The second yahoo account cannot be opened on the new computer. This second and older account still works on my old computer and on my iPhone 6, but I can't get it to work on the new computer with Outlook 2013. I have tried the automatic setup and have tried to copy the account settings over. The error message is:
"Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)."

Can Outlook differentiate between similar names like [email protected] and [email protected]?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have just updated to Windows 10 from 8.1 and I replied to an email OK but when I tried to forward an email to my wife's account the email was not sent and since then I have not been able to send email. The email account I am using is Yahoo Mail, not a free one. I have tried resetting the Port numbers for the POP3 and SMPT. Can anybody suggest a solution?

I know the server settings are correct because they work on my phone and at my office. This is an Exchange 2010 account. It makes it through the auto discovery, then says that I have to restart outlook. When I restart outlook it pop-up with windows security window, so I input username and password.

This pops up.

Then this.

Then this.

The exchange server name shows up as a .local which would work if I was on the network at the office.

Answer:Outlook 2013 Cannot add a new account

For starters, there is a certificate error. Is your company using a self-signed certificate? If so, you'll need to import the root certificate from your company's certificate store into the computer you are trying to connect with. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923575

You said you know the server settings are correct, and that the exchange server name ends in .local. That server can only be accessed from computers connected to your company's network. If you are trying to connect from home, you will need to contact your IT department to ensure the Outlook Anywhere service is enabled on the Exchange server. Your phone can connect because it is using a different protocol than what Outlook uses.

If you want to import Yahoo folders into Outlook 2013, without even modifying your current POP configuration you use in Outlook to access your Yahoo Inbox, try the following:- Create a new user account in your PC- Log in into the new account- Open Outlook 2013- Configure a new email account this time through IMAP You can see details in https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.h... or in http://pop2imap.com/yahoo_outlook_2... - When you are done Outlook will connect to Yahoo and you will see ALL your Yahoo folders in Outlook- Now create a new Outlook Data File (under New Items, More Items menu), and locate this new data file somewhere in your PC, so it is a local file.- Now, for each of the Yahoo folders that you see in Outlook, right click and select Move Folder. As a destiny folder select the new Outlook Data File you have just created.- Repeat the process for each of the Yahoo folders. With that, you are copying all your Yahoo folders into your local Outlook Data File. the folders will disappear from your Yahoo account, since they have been moved to your local Outlook Data File.- Close the local outlook Data File- Quit Outlook and log off from the new user.- Log in into your user- Open Outlook 2013- Go to New Items, More Items, Outlook Data File and select for opening it the local Outlook Data File containing your Yahoo folders.- You are set! Now you have all your Yahoo folders with all its emails, and you if you want you can copy, or move them wherever you want (to your exi... Read more

Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange problem with my IMAP account in outlook 2013. My account does not download my mails after I open the program. I need to go to the send/receive tab and click the  'update folders' button.

I've tried deleting and re-installing the imap account. It also does not fetch the mails when I use the F9 button.
I'm using Win7 (64bit) and Office 2013 Professional Plus (32bit), both office and Windows are up to date according to windows update.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Hi there
PLEASE TO ANY DEVELOPERS OF SOFTWARE : Don't dumb the stuff down so much that it's impossible to repair it if it goes wrong.

Outlook 2013 won't set up an email account if the TEST SEND EMAIL fails.

This is a really stupid error on the part of the developers -- if you are in some places often your ISP won't let you logon to your email server to SEND email from programs like OUTLOOK (SPAM protection amongst other things) but insist that you use their webmail unless you are actually LOGGED ON to the ISP.

ISP's have no problem with you READING Email while on say a public / other Wi-Fi system but often restrict the SENDING of emails through their servers from such Wi-Fi accesses - you often have to be logged on to your own ISP.

So if you are trying to set up the account while you are staying in a Hotel and using their broadband service it fails -- all I want is to be able to READ email until I can logon at home.

I can SEND via webmail or mobile phone so the stupid install process shouldn't stop me CREATING an account even if for the moment I can't use it for SENDING.

GRRH! -- Don't the developers EVER speak to the END USERS any more before designing some install rubbish system like this.

Showstopper for me this one

Rolled back to Office 2010 -- Outlook 2010 works fine - you can SKIP the test email send --this is what they should allow on Outlook 2013 as well. !!!!!

Cheers

Good thing I couldn't upgrade (no free offer or reductions).

I have just installed Outlook 2013 and started my mail account. Unfortunately I let Outlook configure my email account automatically and it configured as IMAP and not a POP account so I have an OST instead of a pst

what is the best way to delete the account I created and start again this time configuring the servers manually ?
Thanks

Answer:redo outlook 2013 mail account

Personally I would leave the account as it is. An IMAP account have the advantage of leaving copies of e-mail on the server. So in the event of system failure all your e-mails are safe.

Hello,

By default, when adding hotmail accounts on Outlook using EAS, the account got added with FULL HOTMAIL NAME:
[email protected]

There was a process by which the left pane of Outlook showed any Name that user wanted.

Now with reconnecting Hotmail account in Outlook (going to Exchange), the same situation of FULL HOTMAIL NAME in the left panel has come up.

The older process (with EAS) does not work.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi I need some advise.

I've been using Outlook 2013 in Win 8 on other partition.

I wanted to backup my old Outlook 2013 account settings and restore them into Outlook2016 because I have 7-8 email accounts. I did the registry backup from outlook /15/profile/outlook .

But in Outlook 2016 the profile registry is located in outlook/16/profile/outlook.

If I click the backed up registry in win10 , the registry installed in wrong directory outlook/15/profile/outlook
That is why my Outlook2016 cannot see the restored accounts.

How can I change or transfer the registry to the original directory outlook/16/profile/outlook?

Please some one if can assist me.

Million thanks

I just acquired an HP Pavilion 500-C60 desktop computer that came preloaded with Windows 8.1 and Office 2013.  [I once used Windows Vista Business with Office 2003, which worked fine.]

I’m now unable to activate Outlook 2013 – i.e. I can’t send or receive e-mail messages per the following:

When receiving - I get “The connection to the server was interrupted.”  Somewhere I heard or read that “imap” should be instead of “pop” (or “pop3”) when using Outlook 2013 in Windows 8.1.

When sending - I get “Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server.”  BTW, my ISP is comcast.net and I was directed to an online file: - “Configure Outlook 2013 for Comcast E-Mail” (accessed via Google).  Each time I follow this procedure and get to the final step – “Test Account Settings “ - the Test fails - and I can’t finalize my e-mail new account configuration.

Has anyone else had this problem – and how did you overcome it?  [BTW, I’m only semi-computer literate in such matters and would appreciate a step-by-step approach to finally get back into “e-mail land.]”

Thanks,

I have two issues, they are somehow related:

1- Am always prompted to enter the account credentials for an Office365 e-mail on MS Outlook.. without even closing and reopening Outlook, am suddenly prompted to enter the credentials, no network disconnection occurs during this time

2- The second problem is that I have to enter the credentials 4 times before it gets connected again! it is similar to what happens when the password is wrong, however, I just check the remember password and click on Ok 4 times and am connected
any suggestions for both problems?!
Solving the first one might ease the impact of the second...

I use Outlook 2013 for four different email accounts - two hotmail. com accounts, one outlook.com account, and one sbcglobal.net POP account provided by AT&T via Yahoo.

Beginning a week or so ago, I've started getting password prompts throughout the day for the sbcglobal.net account. I select the checkbox to save the password, but I keep getting prompted for it. This happens maybe once an hour, sometimes more. It's really annoying.

I know the password I'm supplying is correct because I do get email for the account, and I've verified the password using the ATT/Yahoo web interface.

Any suggestions how to stop the repeated prompts?

Answer:Outlook 2013 repeatedly prompts for email account credentials

Were you able to resolve this problem? I have the same issue with my sbcglobal.net account under Outlook 2016 with my MS Office 365 subscription. Time frame is about the same...for the past five days or so. I have tried repairing my email accounts, manually updating them, and clearing the credential manager of all generic credentials. In credentials, there is the option to "remove" the credentials for the SSO_POP_Device and SSO_POP_User, but I have been reluctant to do so. I shut down Skype, because I found a thread where someone said that seemed to be their conflict. I have not made changes to my passwords lately. The only hinky thing is my installation of Join.me. Once I did that, my home page changed, as did my default search browser, but I chalked that up to me not being careful enough with the install. That said, though, that is about the time I started having this problem.

Any ideas gratefully accepted!

I'm trying to help a friend set-up his email settings in Outlook Express. Everything works as it it should with his Verizon email accounts, but he also has a scbglobal.yahoo.com email account that will not send emails. He can only receive emails sent to his sbcglobal.yahoo account.

POP3 with:
Pop Server: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
SMTP Server: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

I've tried SMTP Outgoing Ports: 25, 587, 465 & 995 (I've tried these ports both with, and without, secure connection using SSL.

I've tried Outgoing mail with these servers requires SMTP authentication...as well as without SMTP authentication.

No issues with anti-virus or firewall preventing the sending of emails.

Any ideas?

Answer:Export Contacts from Outlook 2013 to Outlook 2013 on another Pc?

when exporting as a csv file you have to map custom fields first and take the email 1 address and move it into the other side for the addresses to get in there (from left to right) or the email addresses will not go correctly into the computer you want to do it to. If you back it up with *.pst then everything goes in much easiwer

Hi there
Unless you have an ACTIVE Internet connection (or other Network Mail Server connection such as Exchange) you will NOT be able to set up OUTLOOK 2013.

Outlook 2013 requires (and there is no option unlike in Outlook 2010 to disable it by unchecking a box) a TEST email to be sent and working before your account(s) can be configured-- Once it's done you don't have to be online but if you need to set up several accounts and you don't have a working internet connection -- Tough luck.

Why on earth did Ms do this --it's not necessary and it is a Hassle for some people who are on the road, have purchased Office 2013 and want to set it up instead of having to wait until they get home.

Also a hassle if they want to prepare company laptop computers with email parameters in advance of the new Exchange email servers being rolled out to the users.

Even if your work policy has mechanisms where the USER can configure the email connections themselves they won't be able to set it up until the Servers are actually in place so you can't set the accounts up in advance.

The box I've shown here is from Outlook 2010. In Outlook 2013 the option is filled in and greyed out so you can't change it.

BTW I prefer and use Office 2010 myself but was trying to help a colleague to set up Office 2013.

Cheers

Of course you can uncheck the Test email box. It has been so in all Outlook versions, is still so in Outlook 2013.

The option is grayed out exactly as long as the NEXT button is grayed out i.e. as long as they could not be used due missing credentials, until the setup has all relevant information for an email account to work (email address, incoming and outgoing servers, username and password). When you have filled the needed credentials, both the Test box and NEXT button become visible and can be clicked / selected.

Although I could well understand that setting up an email account, which in any case needs a working connection, would require an existing connection, this is not the case with Outlook 2013. You can set your email accounts up while sitting in a pub in Brussels watching Premier League Football without Internet connection if you want to .

Hi there

Whoever designed the base colors for Office 2013 must have been totally STONE DEAF and COLOR BLIND at the same time. I can't believe that comments weren't made before this stuff was allowed out of the door.

There's almost no possibilities to customize the backgrounds or colors and on a large monitor the base white looks really HIDEOUS -- you need a good pair of Sunglasses while working with it.

The only other choice is some type of Grey (shown in screenshot) which looks very similar to "The Fruit Company's Window colour scheme. Still looks hideous and that Blue !!!!!.

Outlook also displays the unread message titles in the most sickly blue (can't seem to change it) I've ever seen.

Before I remove this POS from my computer is there anyway to De-Uglify or customize like I had in Office 2010 with the Black background.

I don't like it opening with a prompt screen before I get the base screen (often needs another TWO keyboard strokes !! -- example for EXCEL 2013 shown) -- I should be able to open it in a Window with the menus just like like Office 2010. It means I now have to make a load of extra keyboard strokes before I actually get a workbook screen to start getting my work done.

I don't want the sign in reminders either -- I don't intend to use Cloud services etc.

Cheers
jimbo

No there isn't a way (that I know of) to change it. It was too cumbersome and hogged my Internet Speed with Cloud and whatnot; so I went back to good ol' office 2010. Maybe you should too

My employer (School Board) requested all staff laptops be returned over summer so the OS could be upgraded from Win 7 Enterprise, so I did an export of my Outlook 2010 file to work on from home- they now want all Outlook profiles below 50 MB. My personal laptop (Win 7 Pro with Office 2010) died last Tuesday before I could import said file. New ASUS G771J laptop came with Win 8.1 Home which I upgraded yesterday to Win 10 Home. Employer is moving to Office 2013 so I installed the HUP version yesterday as well.
Am now trying to import a password protected Outlook 2010 file (backup.pst) that was backed up from the work Acer running Win 7 Enterprise computer and Office 2010. I use Thunderbird or Gmail as my email client so will not use Outlook 2013 beyond weeding through this mound of work emails.
Was on M$ Win 10 website
Import Outlook items from an Outlook Data File (.pst)
but get either "This Outlook data file (.pst) is already in use in the current profile" when using the export function or "We didn't find anything to show here" when I use the Open Data File (.pst) command from "Open & Export" from the File tab and point to the backup file from work.
Both backup files are named differently depending on the Outlook version 2010 (backup.pst) and 2013 (Outlook.pst) so I copy/pasted the 2010 file into the same folder as the 2013 file then renamed the 2013 file to Outlook.OLD hoping that would trigger Outlook to accept the 2010 file but Outlo... I used Zinstall to move all my files/programs from my old computer to my new one in the last few days. I also upgraded the new one from 8.1 to Win10 after the migration. Knowing Win10 doesn't work with MSOffice2007, I subscribed to MSOffice365 in the new computer. Now, Outlook 2013 doesn't show the same folders I had in Outlook 2007, and I need to know where all my saved files went and how to import them to this system. (They are still sitting in my old computer, if I have to copy them to a zip drive & move them again.)

I have a Dell Inspiron 660 running Window 8.1 Pro.

I had been using Outlook 2013 for about a month with no problems, when I got a message saying my OUTLOOK.PST file was approaching maximum size of 2Gb. However, I could not open it to compact it or delete items to bring the size down. I just kept getting the "approaching maximum size" error.

Outlook was NOT asking for a password for my mail server, It's specifically asking for a PW to open OUTLOOK.PST.

So, I opened the OUTLOOK.PST file in Outlook 2007 successfully, did some housekeeping, and reduced the size to about 700Mb. However, when I tried to open the PST in Outlook 2013 again, I was prompted for a password to open the PST. I tried my MS Account PW, and several other PWs, but none worked. I never set a PW for the OUTLOOK.PST in the first place. I was never prompted for a PW before the "max size" error came up.

I am able to open the file in Outlook 2007 without being prompted for a PW but every time I try to open it in OL2013, I get the PW prompt.

I have also run the SCANPST.EXE utility on the OUTLOOK.PST file, but that has not changed the PW prompt.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ken

As a translator I need to recreate old e-mails and attachments to avoid to have to translate an entire novel once again. (After a few years, the publisher now wants to publish a new edition).

But the only place this file is located, is as an attachment in my old outbox in Outlook Express 6.

Unfortunately OE6 is history long ago on my computers, and no longer available.

But I have managed to get out the .bak files from the old hard drive. Now I need to get out the contents.
The files are inbox.bak, sendt.bak and deleted.bak

Now I use Outlook 2013.

I have seen for me to first convert .bak file to .dbx, then convert .dbx to .pst, and finally to import .pst into Outlook 2013.

But whether this is possible or the best way, and how I do this easiest, I have no idea.

All the solutions I've found on the web until now requires that I have OE6. Which I have not.

Is there anyone who can help?
Is there a procedure or an utility to help me out?

I am so confused about where outlook 2013 keeps things.

I have installed Outlook 2013 and would like to import my contacts from my outlook 2007 in another computer. I have already prepared the contacts.pst file from outlook 2007 and made it available in my public folders. I then imported the .pst file into Outlook 2013 via network. However the contacts shows up as a separate contact list rather than integrated into the outlook 2013 address book . How to correct it?

I must have got the process wrong.

Thanks

Answer:outlook 2013 import contacts from outlook 2007

OK. I found the imported contacts in a separate list inside the address book. There are 2 lists one is "In This computer" the other is just "contacts" . How do I make the "contacts "list as the default so I get an address book when I click on 'To" ?

I have one SkyDrive account connected to my Office 2013 installation. However, I am unable to add more. When I click Account - Add a service - Storage, SkyDrive is missing.

This only happens to me at work. My Office 2013 installation at home lets me add all 5 SkyDrive accounts.

How do I get that setting back?

Answer:Add SkyDrive account Missing from Office 2013

Are the 2 Office 2013 programs actually the same version or is your home one Office Home Premium 365, which I think allows you to install it on 5 of your family computers & is the work Office 2013 a professional business version, which may have different SkyDrive requirements.

Have installed Outlook 2013 and created a first email account as pop3 (manual setup).

Going to import from a saved .pst from Outlook 2000 - a file that contained (3) organized sections of contacts, info as well as emails, address book listings, etc - 2013 asked whether to "import items to the current folder" (a Personal Folder) OR the other radio button choice being to import to the email address which just was set up (where I guess new pst files are stored)

Attempted to import the backup pst to the "current folder" - but after it loaded, it could not be viewed anywhere or found within the folder structure of Windows7. Could not determine if it simply overwrote itself or why anyone would want to do this if it's the case.

So next, I went for the other choice and imported to the email address location and most everything now seems to show beneath it on the leftside pane. - Except for all my prior contacts, which only seem to show under "Addresses" that when opened, seem to reference through an open search box "Contact - ....".

Q: in the future can the location of these pst files be changed and how/where?
(like if myemail is done away with) Please note that I have about 11 more email accounts to load.

Q: how to bring up/organize my contacts back in order?

Q: is there no way to import my pst to another location that is more generic like "Personal Folders" if there is such as thing in Outlook 2013?

Backup seems not so ... Read more

In various places it says to close down Outlook 2013 prior to restoring from a .pst. To simply copy and paste the .pst file into the proper location which is often listed as an email address.

Why is this, and does restoring in this way really apply when restoring Outlook 2013 from earlier versions of Outlook?

I recently imported a .pst file from Outlook 2000 into 2013 (all emails/contacts) and to my amazement, the source 398 MB .pst ballooned to over 1 GB.

Does importing the .pst ( as opposed to copying and pasting while Outlook 2013 is closed) cause such great multiplications in file size of the .pst?

Answer:Outlook 2013 - restoring from .pst & closing Outlook

It is always good to use the Import option if you want to Import the .pst files from a very older version of Outlook. Outlook 2003 and later versions use a different file format compared to earlier versions of Outlook. That could be the reason why the file size has increased.

Hello,

Here in the UK, Orange turned off their email address system. I have a GMail account and want to use this in Outlook 2007.

However, I have a POP account which receives but does not send. It is for this reason, I use the GMail account from which to send, but then make my Return address to be that of my POP address.

Anyway, GMail is an IMAP account and Outlook tries to send mail from the POP account as opposed to the Defaulted IMAP GMail account.

For Outlook 2010, 2013, etc, there are Registry fixes for this. I cannot for the life of me find a Registry fix for 2007. Does it exist, with instruction?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Win 7, Office 2007 etc etc.

Answer:Outlook 2007 - Make IMAP account default sending account

I have moved a few people off of orange over the last few weeks and then closed down the account on outlook 2007 and 2010

If you have the old orange still set as default account - change to the gmail account as default
also switch off the send and receive - not needed for IMAP

otherwise , not sure what you are trying to do

You can also delelte the account and the POP email will remain - BUT backup and test the PST file first

Answer:How do I move my email with all my runs from a GMAIL account to a OUTLOOK.COM account?

Hi... I think we need more details. Could you join the site so you can reply in this thread?
What App was used to capture the runs? What device did the tracking?
Where are you trying to view the runs? What output (Google Maps, App "X", printout maps)???
On the surface it looks like you are asking about an email... Which you could forward. I think what you really want is how to move a service to a new email address as the reporting default without loosing all your stored data, yes?
So more details are critical.

Hello.

I use Outlook 2013 to manage my mails. I have different mailadresses from different hosters. Until now I used pop3 to retrieve my Mail, but now I want to synchronize my Mails between the Desktop-PC (Win 8.1) and the Tablet (Surface RT). Therefore I wanted to use my Outlook.com-adress, but actually this doesn't work as easy as I had expected. The Problem is, that I don't want to have severals In-Boxes, Out-Boxes etc for the different Mail-Accounts. With Pop3 I could receive all my mails in one single .pst-File. As far as I know this is not possible with the .ost-File, which is saved with the creation of a Exchange ActiveSync Account. And if I would accept two In-Boxes etc., so that I receive my Mails with the old Settings and move the Mails into the Outlook.com-Account, this also doenst work, because it isn't possible to move Mails from my .pst- to my .ost-File. The other way around it works.
Another possibility would be to forward the Mails to the outlook.com-Account, but then I wouldn't be able to send Mails from the different Accounts within Outlook.

So does anybody know a Solution for my Problem? I'll try to sum up what I want to do:
receive and send Mails from different hosters with Outlook 2013use my Outlook.com-Account to sync my mails, calender and contactsuse as little as possible In-Boxes, Out-Boxes etc.if necessary - moving Mails from one Account to the Outlook.com-account to synchronize

I hope someone can help me ...

Hello ---
I haven't been able to use the Outlook Universal app yet. I have Outlook 2013 though. I mostly use the mail/calendar Windows 8.1 app. Any thoughts on comparing what the new Outlook Universal app looks like & how it works as compared to office 2013 Outlook? It looks similar in some aspects, (Just from screen shots) but I'm sure it's much more limited. Does anyone know if apps like the Outlook Universal app will require Office 365? Part of the reason I bought Office 2013 was so I wouldn't have to pay for a subscription. Well, I guess I had more than one question.
I'm just trying to figure out if I should even really consider the new Outlook app or keep my heart away :)

Answer:How is the Outlook 2013 vs Outlook Universal App?

I use the Mail app in Windows 8.1 for emails on my personal laptop. However, my work PC has Windows 7. I use Outlook 2013 there, and I am NOT at all impressed by it. The main reason is that it is super slow!! Takes a few seconds to respond after you click on any email or any option. Freezes all the time, and is very unresponsive. I hate it. I haven't used the universal Outlook app, but I hope it is better than Outlook 2013.

Can you get back old Hotmail account, after having renamed it to new Outlook account?
Well here is Microsoft's answer on Reddit!

If you renamed your account, and want to rename it back to the original name, you can do that.
IMPORTANT: This may not work if you are outside of the US and have a "@live.com" or "@Hotmail.com" address!
First, remove the alias that was created when you renamed your account (the alias will be for the original name).
Go to http://account.live.com, select "Notifications" then "manage your email preferences" and you'll find links to remove aliases.
Second, go back to the Rename page, Sign In and rename back to the original name.

Hope it helps someone!

For contacts - you can take the .wab (Windows Address Book) with your contacts and import that into Outlook 2013 by double clicking on the .wab which will ask you if you want to import them.

As this is a work computer , it maybe setup with various security polices

Do you also have permission to copy work material onto a home PC - this is very unusual as most companies would NOT want there information compromised on a non-work PC

Hi there
I usually try out stuff for quite a while - but OUTLOOK 2013 is a DISASTER -- create a new folder but I can't copy stuff to local folders --it says Inbox with say 20 emails in it but clicking on the email it's EMPTY. !! Stuff stays in a new folder in the IMAP folder - not in a LOCAL FOLDER.
All these new software packages seem to do is assume you are 100% connected to the Net -- sometimes even if you are you might want to access and peruse emails while you are OFFLINE.

Also you can't uncheck the box Test email account when creating a new email account - so if you aren't online the system FAILS. I'm using IMAP for my email.

BAD ONE Ms - probably the quickest piece of Software I've ever REMOVED from a system. What was wrong with building on the EXCELLENT Office 2010 -- now re-installed.

I used to think Ms Office was one of the best packages out there --Office 2010 obviously is the Pinnacle --it's all DOWNHILL from now on in -- and don't even get me started on the subscription models of Office 365.

It's now GONE -- Office 2010 re-installed --happy camper again.

Cheers
jimbo

Question: Outlook 2013 SP1

I have an ongoing issue that I have researched and been unable to fix. So I am hoping someone else has come across this and may have been able to find a fix.

I have one end user who logs into the computer with his credentials without any problem and all other programs will work without issue.

However, when he launches Outlook 2013, he is prompted to enter his network credentials and he should not be.

I have either tried the following or the following will not be possible:

The AD Account is not locked
We are using the GP not to allow the credentials to be saved to the Credential Manager this fix is not possible
All Office updates have been installed
Reset his password in AD on the main domain controller
Had the user change his password using his computer, lock the computer, and unlock it using the new password. Launches Outlook and still gets prompted to enter password
Ran repair on MS Office
There is no connectivity issues, I setup a continues ping and ran it for over an hour with 0% packet loss
I have unmapped and remapped the network shared drives to make sure they were not using the old credentials
Would rather not uninstall and reinstall MS Office if I don't have to since the laptop is critical to business operations.

The Operating system is Windows 7 SP1 ENT - 64bit
They are using Ethernet to connect to the network

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Run a Repair option.
Go to Programs and Features > scroll to Microsoft Office 2013 > right click at it > click Change > click Repair........

See if that will solve the problem.

The weird IE screen you are describing is in fact not a weird IE screen . It is the IE APP, not the IE Desktop version. So what happens is that, whenever you click on a link in Outlook, it starts in the IE APP instead of the IE Desktop version.

You can change the behavior of Windows, concerning links, as following.

Go to the desktop and open IE from the desktop.Go to Internet Options.Go to the tab Programs. You can change the upper selections the way you want IE to behave.

Goodluck with it!!

Greetz,
Rover

Question: Outlook 2013

When I close Outlook I get a message saying there are items in my Outbox (see attached). There are NO messages in my outbox. Have not been able to resolve. Hope someone can help. Thank you.

Answer:Outlook 2013

Hey bud...you might want to check your attachments a little bit better...your email (one of them at least) is plainly visible.

As for your issue: It's not with your "outbox" but rather your "sent" box. You can clearly see the 1 there. Open up your sent box and right click and resend it or delete it. That's the cause of your error message.

Run a Repair option.
Go to Programs and Features > scroll to Microsoft Office 2013 > right click at it > click Change > click Repair........

See if that will solve the problem.

Question: Outlook 2013

Hi, I have outlook 2013,
I had a problem where it kept opening up to a different mail account, so my default set one. I didn't know how to fix it and so I deleted it. However when I open up outlook the account that I delete is still there and it still opens up. I have checked under accounts and its not listed under there but it still appears in the accounts.

How can I delete this as it is very annoying
or is there a way I can delete the application and the reinstall it, but reinstall as like "new" so it asks me what accounts that I want to be included it outlook. So like a brand new setup

Answer:Outlook 2013

Not to worry.
I had some spare time and did some research, and I hate to go into control panel > mail > and then delete the current profile.
This allowed me to add my accounts as if it was first instaill

Question: Outlook 2013

Is showing two inboxes so i have duplicate folders how can i fix?

Answer:Outlook 2013

Outlook 2007 and later versions, by default, each email account will prompt Outlook to create a new file and hence, a different inbox.

You can consolidate all of your accounts to one account to resolve this.

1) Type the following in the search box: folder: (Inbox) received: (this week)

2) Press Ctr+Alt+A

3) Press Enter

In Outlook 2013, the add-in tab appears in the main email inbox... It appears in a new email message and it appears when you click reply or forward, but it does not appear when you just simply double click on the email and open it to it's own window.WHY??It works fine in Outlook 2010And, how do you make the toolbar icons show up in the add-in tab??Right now all I see is the menubar commands

Answer:Outlook 2013 add-in tab

What exactly do you mean by the add-in tab? Add-In Toolbar perhaps. Do you mean Add-in under the File Options section in the main menu? What does using this tab allow you to accomplish? Are you talking about having the Add-ins tab displayed in the Quick Access toolbar at the top of the window when Outlook is open?Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a little confused...message edited by Jennifer SUMN

Question: Outlook 2013

I don't understand synchronizing. Here is the frequent error I'm seeing: "Task Synchronizing subscribed folders for [my e-mail addy] reported error (0x800CCC0E). Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for [e-mail addy]. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or internet service provider (ISP)."

Sometimes I receive e-mails while this error is loading, but other times I don't. What is going on here, and what do I need to do about it? (I have Win 10 & MS Office 365.)

When I get into the outlook application i get this message and the application freezes

Answer:I am using windows 10 and i get "Outlook could not create the work file" It is MS Outlook 2013

Check your drive for errors and run scanpst.exe on your pst's and ost files. Generally this is one of the signs of a corrupt mail database which is why Microsoft has been pushing for a few years now to get rid of them.
Other possibility is with the temporary file store location. You can find a write up about it here. Outlook could not create the work file

Question: My Yahoo Account

I am at wits end with my Yahoo Account. My problem is simple, yet cannot be remedied.

When I signed up with yahoo, I signed up with
First Name: x
Last Name: xx
User Name: xxx

I am trying to change my first name "x" but can't seem to change it. (This is my registration name).

I have gone to "MY ACCOUNT" and changed my user name. It has been changed. That part is fine.

But when I send my email, it appears that my INCOMING NAME is still the same and cannot be changed. How to change, or am I stuck and have to open another account?

Thank you. Please write if you need clarification but I pretty much summed up my problem.

Answer:My Yahoo Account

Go to options/mail options/accounts/mail/edit and change the "from" name.

Hi,I have been unable to log into my yahoo email account for a few days now. I have tried IE it comes up with "can't display the page" I have tried Firefox and it comes up with "problem loading page". I have deleted all coookies, history and caches on both and restored default settings. I thought it might be a problem with Trend Micro security but haven't been able to find if it is blocking this site. I can log into my email from my iphone though so I guess it must be a problem with my computer. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer:Can't log into my yahoo account

Do you get the same error when loading other websites other than Yahoo webmail? If so, then you may want to your test your local area network connection for any issue. Since your iphone is working and it uses the Wi-Fi connection on your router, there is no problem with your router or internet connectivity.Try the followingGo to Start->Run and type "cmd" without double quotes to launch DOS shell. Next, type ping yahoo.com.
