Preferred Solution: using" verified.exe" for windows10

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I mean from 64 bit to 32 bit without losing the built in OS or install a new dual one.Even though. Still will require Windows10 32 bit drivers !!

I just want windows to stop checking cold turkey.

I am burning Win7 to an ISO (using Active ISO)
I have the "Verify Media" option selected for after it burns the ISO
After the burning process it starts to verify the media

If I were to cancel the operation (while it is verifying), would it ruin the disk (or DVD drive, etc.)?

Answer:Eject DVD while being verified

Phyxiis said:

No, at that point the disc is being read so cancelling shouldn't ruin the disc or the drive.

However, if you were to cancel during the burning process that would render the disc useless.

Well the other day, Windows said it needed to be verified. I have an official version that came with my computer. I was kind of confused and was suspicious of what was really going on. My computer will freeze up once in a while also. Sometimes my browser will act up like it has been hijacked.

Answer:Windows needs to be verified?

I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

TDSSkiller - How to run

Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop

Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
Done! Press ENTER to exit...

Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
Found non-standard or infected MBR.
Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:

Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.

Good morning - I recently updated my browser to IE9 and I now have a problem that I can't solve.I have my main bank account with Nationwide and when I use my debit card online to buy something, I have to use the "Verified By Visa" system to authorize the purchase, this is a Nationwide security check. This worked perfectly until I updated to IE9, now it doesn't. The process of verification doesn't complete and sticks at the "processing" stage. Nationwide have been unable to advise me on this problem. This problem does not occur if I use Chrome or Firefox.I wondered if anyone else has had this problem ?

Answer:Verified By Visa and IE9

Have you tried running the site in question in compatability mode, click here

Hi,
I used to be able to start Money 2005 without a security box popping up. Now it says, "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" I don't have the installation CD as it was pre-installed when I bought the PC. Once I click to "Run" it, it goes through ok. I have Windows xp sp2 and IE 7.0 Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Answer:Publisher could not be verified

In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced
Scroll down to the subhead "Security" and put a checkmark in the first three boxes.

Save your changes.

Not a good idea to post your product key.

Use this VBS script to find your key & verify it with the one you posted:

Don't post the key it finds.

I got my new computer just yesterday and decided to make a Microsoft account when prompted to do so at the initial set-up. I am new to Win10 so I may have missed something. I am met with this message when trying to log into my new microsoft account: We sent an email to [email protected] to make sure that you own it. Please check your inbox, then follow the instructions to finish setting up your Microsoft account. And ofcourse this message is preventing me from signing in to check my email. I can not contact Microsoft because I need a Microsoft account. I contacted a shady site "Your365TechSupport.com" who took control of my desktop and didn't seem to understand what I was saying. My account needs to be verified for me to access it however, the verification code needed to access the account is within the account.

If anyone has any Ideas I would be super grateful for any and all advice on the matter

Thanks for reading.

I run Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual-Core Processor. 2 days ago I could watch video no problem (youtube) today I went to watcha video and it said "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player"

I then download the flash player and it still doesn't work. When I go to tools-manage add ons and locate Java it says beside it (not verified) Sun Microsystems.

How do I turn the Java on so I can watch video's, how do I verify it

thanks

Answer:(not verified) Sun Microsystems, Inc."

Hi -

Be sure that you are using IE 7 x86 and not IE 7 x64.

To check Java out, go to the verification site for Java detection -
http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

If still a NO-GO, perform a system restore using a nrestore point from > 2 days ago when all was well -

Hi enricco777

This is another java bug. I don't believe it's been fixed yet though. I have the same thing with one of my add ons. If you are worried, you can write java and see if they have an answer yet. I have not had any security issues with it yet that I know of.

Paying for an online service recently the final stages (confirm button) displayed the Visa Verification Popup. This looked normal except it did not ask for normal password but for card details + ATM pin number. Of course I abandoned my purchase immediately. I have attached a screenshot of the popup.
For ages I have never had a positive infection result from any scan but recently my Avast virus scanner detected a rootkit infection and deleted it. All subsequent virus scans detect nothing. Also Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc. all come up clean. I have Comodo installed as a firewall.
The thought of having to do a clean install and spending days reinstalling applications makes me feel ill. Otherwise the computer is running fine. I have not attempted an online purchase since.

Answer:e-mail account (Not Verified)

When you use an email addy to register your net passport you it needs to be verified that its real addy, you should have received an email from messenger site with a link in it so you could click it and verify your email addy.If you have a hot-mail/msn addy this verifies at once so you must have used an addy other than msn/hotmail.

I am using a genuine windows 7 ultimate 64bit on a Fujitsu sh560 and I have recently updated various drivers (a complete list is below) from the Fujitsu website itself. These were intended for my laptop model and have been verified by my computer. I installed them all at once before restarting my system. Upon logging on to my computer, I notice that windows aero doesn't work and neither does my internet, my sound system, and my fingerprint scanner. I can not roll back any drivers, I cannot use recovery, and i cannot start any services without getting an error message of 1068. I then went to task manager and it has a completely depleted list of running processes from my previous startups.

Drivers updated:
Audio driver by realtek
Modem driver by atheros
Chipset driver by Intel
Fujitsu BIOS driver
Fujitsu camera driver
Biometric Device driver by authentec

Answer:Almost nothing works after several verified updates

Maybe that BIOS update did something bad to machine? Applying BIOS updates is very risky. Also those chipset updates can be dangerous also.

This is error code explanation from Microsoft site:

ERROR_SERVICE_DEPENDENCY_FAIL 1068 (0x42C) The dependency service or group failed to start.

In other site somebody had similar kind of error and it is caused by registry corruption.

Did your computer worked properly before these updates?
If it did you have forgotten old saying: If it is not broken then don't fix it.

Ok.

I made my wife a MSN passport using her regular e-mail address.

She can sign into MSN Messenger but next to her name it displays "e-mail address not verified." No problem, I just go to File\Verify Address in MSN Messenger, right?

Wrong. It sends an email to the address I used for her passport account. It had said in the sign up info that this message would contain a link to verify her email. There is no such link.

How do I verify her e-mail address? Am I missing something here??

IN installation process:
"Getting files ready for installation" completes about 25% and then it reboots and shows the error.

In boot option I have
1) Windows setup
2) Windows 7

When I click on option 1(setup), it shows the error and setup cannot from that point progress.

I have no problem booting and running windows 7(option 2).

Answer:error 0xc0000428 winload.exe cannot be verified

Opps, there is no Disk Mgmnt screen shot attached and .. the screen shot you did attach does not show an error, only the install percent complete. These things happen.

Since you're just beginning, it might be more expedient to start over.
See: Windows 10 - Dual Boot with Windows 7 or Windows 8 - Windows 10 Forums

I would delete the D: partition, leaving it raw/unallocated, and let Windows manage it during the install.
Be careful - only the D partition.

Ever had this happen?
You spend 30 minutes or longer downloading a program or file or whatever only to get to where it has finished downloading,,so,, it should just save to your system,,right?
But after all that time waiting & after using all of that bandwidth,, at the very last minute it just won't save at all & brings up the error:
-The publisher could not be verified- or -Invalid Digital Signature- & then it doesn't give you the option to override the warning & then it just closes.

Man O' Man this one thing was driving me Crazy more than anything else in the first week of running win 8, I felt like throwing this OS in the trash.
I tried lowering security levels & un-checking boxes here & there in the internet options & I even ventured into the group policy editor (on the advice of quite a few online sites) & changed some security settings in there but it made no difference, no matter what I did it still kept on happening.

Anyway,, if you ever get those errors & IE gives you no choice to override them like was happening to me, do this: (NOTE: The download will still halt at the end & give same errors but it will also give you the option to override the warning & actually save the download to your system).

1. Click "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Network and Internet Options" > "Internet Options".
2. Click the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the "Security" se... Read more

I'm using Internet Explorer 9 and I've been trying to download a file I need. However, it keeps giving me the message "The publisher of this program couldn't be verified", with options to "Open" the file (which doesn't work because it's an incomplete file; I guess it blocked the download), "Learn more..." which is useless and "Cancel". There's no option to download the file, even though I know I can trust it and it's a file I want.

Does anyone know how to get around this?
Real answers please, not just "get chrome lol"

Answer:The publisher of this program couldn't be verified.

Take a look at the "security" tab under Tools/Internet Options. If it doesn't work with default settings, you can lower the security level for "Internet" or add the site name to the "Trusted sites" zone. There is also a "Certificates" section under the "Content" tab which is rather complicated. Some sites are blocked simply because they forgot to renew their certificate on time. In the past, when I encountered a problem there was usually an option to by-pass the protection, but it's possible there could be a group policy setting that was changed from its default in order to further "lock down" IE. Did you set up IE yourself or was the computer supplied by your company?

I'm afraid not. When a MSA is created for the first time on a new PC or device, it must be verified for security purposes.

Hello, I work online. The last day I was able to work was Saturday 12/15/12. Then on 12/17/12 IE would not let the Active X control run so I could type medical reports in the propritory software I run. I run my account as Admin, so the Active X will run without me having to password every report I type. So I tried several things along with working with a company IT. I didn't download anything but updates and uninstalled those. I have to stay in IE7 to be able to run my software also. IE8 had installed so I uninstalled it. I tried to dump as much as I could and ran Malwarebytes and Cleanup. IE won't run on my Admin user. It says IE has stopped working and says: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkID=76277runonce.msn.com/runonce3.aspxBasically, the website I work in on my user, Amy, will let me on but will not run the Active X window to allow me to type. A security warning from IE comes up saying Add on Installer needs authorization. I put in my Admin pass and another window will come up saying Windows has blocked it for lack of verification of publisher. Now, other sites have done this but I get through. So after trying many things with the help of the company IT, I still can't get on to the software to work. I typed in a search for the topic title I put above and read a form answer that asked to post from the following software: Check up: Results of screen317's Security Check version 0.99.56 Windows Vista Service Pack 2 x86 (UAC is enabled) Inter... I would not want to try this with my computer, but you can go to tools>internet options>security and set to lower levels of security.

I would not want to do that because, once I start downloading drivers etc, I want the highest level of security available.

This should work, but as I said I never tried it.

I'm more technically inclined, so this problem has fallen to me: We are having a problem with my Girlfriends computer running Vista Home Premium with Incredimail accessing a gmail email account. Every few hours the following pop up window appears:

First it states that it's from Incredimail, then the following: "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified, do you want to continue using this server? Yes / No". I have been clicking Yes thinking the problem would resolve itself.

Three days now and the warning is still appearing.

I'm assuming Incredimail is referring to the gmail servers. I also have a gmail account, the only difference being I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird. I am not receiving any warning of any kind.

Any ideas on what's going on? Any ideas for a fix?

Thanks for your help.

Curious as to if Chrome Apps available through Chrome for use online and offine are verified safe before they are offered for download and installation?Reason why i ask is because I found this app that was a good color selection for HTML that gave you the Hex to have this color in your html, and at the end of the install it installed a service that wants to run at start in the tray.... an application like this to want to run a service all the time seems very very fishy since to me I dont see a need for any service to be running to display a color palette make a selection and see the hex in a box below.

Answer:Chrome Apps ( Are they safe / Verified to be ok before they are made available )

Chrome is not as diligent in their app reviews as Apple or MS it appears...Not sayin it's a bad thing ...but maybe research the service to see...

Hi All,

I'm a newbie. Hope you are all keeping well.

More than a month ago I verified my website with McAfee SiteAdvisor and am still waiting for the site to be rated. It is still coloured 'grey'. I contacted McAfee and they told me that they have millions of sites to test and that I should get back to them after 2 months if my website has not been rated by then. It has certainly not been good for my business.

My question is: were all websites only tested after two months or are some sites treated differently? Also, besides having my site verified is there anything else that needs to be in order to get the site rated/tested?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I was having problems with a cracked version of windows 7 and so decided to go blank slate: a legit copy of Windows XP from about 10 years ago. Please don't comment by calling me a cheapskate (for not buying Windows 7) or a pirate (for using the cracked version), as that's just not interesting. This is a computer for a friend (I run Linux on my own computer).

Installing didn't work initially, and I found out I had to slipstream SATA drivers using a tool called nLite.

I managed to install everything using the ISO file that nLite made, including slipstreamed SP3. Great.

Everything is running lightning fast compared to 7, only one problem, a "Windows File Protection: Files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unknown versions" error.

Now the microsoft support page for this suggests it's malware, which is highly unlikely, since this error ocurred even before connecting the new install to the internet. I know that the original disk is completely clean, as I bought it from microsoft, and I guess I can assume nLite is clean. I have installed very few programs, and none of them are cracked. So it's most likely not malware.

I inserted the CD as it requested, and it trundled through and completed without complaining. After restart, it complained again.

I run sfc /SCANNOW from command prompt, and after fifteen minutes or so of "please wait while Windows verifies that all protected Windows files are intact and in their ori... Read more

Answer:Protected Windows files, verified and in tact

Go to Start/Run and type eventvwr.msc and press enter
In the Event Viewer System log to see what the file name is, then decide what to do.

The event will look something like this example:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Windows File Protection
Event Category: None
Event ID: 64005
Date: 1/10/2011
Time: 2:41:56 PM
Description:
The protected system file taskmgr.exe was not restored to its original, valid version because the Windows File Protection restoration process was cancelled by user interaction.
When you know what the file is, you can decide what to do about it. There are probably already other copies of the file(s) on your system or you can get the file(s) from another source.

Hi There,

I cloned my smaller SSD to my larger SSD I just purchased so I can relieve my space issue. The problem is that during the clone, I replaced my /boot/ and attempting to boot from the new drive gives me Winload.exe has a digital signature that cannot be verified

I have tried all typical startup repairs, fixing MBR, editing the BCD directly and adding a Windows 7 record on this drive, no luck.

The original drive has since been replaced with Win10 and I cannot re-clone.

I am thinking that the primary issue is that by copying the /boot/ section of my original drive, I replaced winload.exe and the fingerprint/'digital signature' does not match the new SSD, but the old.

Therefore, is there a way to generate a new winload.exe using the signature from this bigger drive?

Other than that, I'm thinking of installing Win7 again on the second half of my new SSD and taking the Winload.exe that is created there and copying that back to my cloned partition, would that work?

Really dying to get back into Win7, and doing a fresh install is not an option for me as I really need the Windows configuration and installed programs to work.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Answer:Cloned OS --> Winload.exe digital signature cannot be verified

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Sounds like you upgraded the install to win-10 and are trying to use the same upgraded install
That is not exactly legal and is in violation of the free upgrade agreement

A more reliable method would of been to use a system image and restore the image to the new ssd.
Still not legal to use both though.

Hi everyone,

I have recently been having a few problems with firefox in particular (not being able to click on certain things especially on gmail) and it has been acting very slow. I thought nothing of it at first. However I have just been to purchase something online and as I was going to checkout I had a popup (it wasn't in a separate window and it was a new website to me so I foolishly thought it genuine) asking for my card details through verified by visa, although it was asking a few odd questions such as my ATM pin number. Unfortunately I was in a hurry and decided to throw in my pin number, but on the next stage of the so called "verified by visa" pop up it was asking for my parent's maiden name which made me very suspicious.

I immediately closed firefox and attempted the same transaction in google chrome, what I'm using right now, I found that this popup did not appear when attempting the transaction although I still did not complete the transaction for fear of safety.

I have read about that I could have a backdoor trojan or something. I have ran spybot s&d, and I attempted to run malware bytes, however my computer restarted unexpectedly at the start of the scan (another telling sign). I managed to run malware bytes in safe mode, however both that and spybot came up with nothing. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to get rid of this, there doesn't seem to be anything that out of the ordinary in my processes list either... Read more

I need some help with a Windows 7 (x64) system where bluetooth and usb devices have suddenly stopped working. When I go into device manager I see that my Intel USB 3.0 extensible host controller and my Intel Wireless Bluetooth show exclamations
on them. They both report that "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device".

This machine has been working fine for a while but suddenly stopped working correctly earlier this week.  So far I have uninstalled recently installed MS patches. I installed the most current version of the drivers from Intel for these devices.
I've also ran sigcheck against both drivers and confirmed that they are signed.

As a work around, I use F8 and boot with driver signing verification turned off but that is certainly not ideal as I have to remember to do so every time the computer is restarted. Anyone have suggestions for a permanent fix?

Needless to say do not click on the link or enter ANY information.

I replaced a N21 board last week because the headphone jack was dead. Usually I replace the board and run the RMA shim to update the serial numbers and run the tests. This particular instance the motherboard ignored the RMA shim and booted right into ChromeOS. I hit ESC REFRESH POWER to powerwash the thing and force it to boot from the RMA shim. No luck. It just tells me I'm not in verified mode - reboots - and tells me developer mode has been disabled. If I try to power wash it will not register that I hit CTRL+D (even with usb keyboard). Hi All,
I have a NAS from which I want to copy 6.3TB of data (to a standalone 8TB drive attached to my PC via USB 3).
I'd like to use an app that will automate the copy. I tell it to watch the source folder (on the NAS), and it compares it to the destination folder (on the 8TB external). It keeps checking until the two copies are identical.
I was introduced to TeraCopy, but I keep coming back to find it's stopped copying (either due to a read error, or a write error). A quick test using Explorer to copy those "problem" files had them copy with no problems.
I'm hoping for an app that will intelligently skip a file that might be problematic, and then come back to it and attempt to copy it again. Logs would be helpful in that case as well.
Can anyone offer any good suggestions? Commercialware is fine, though I'm not adverse to clever freeware :-)
Cheers!
Chas

This is complicated by the fact the computer in question operates in spanish, and i don't know what the corresponding error in english would say. But we can't sign in to a google account on that computer. Firefox, chrome, and i.e. all put up warning screens. The one for firefox says in spanish, 'connexion no esta verificada'. It says you've asked firefox to make a secure connection to www.google.com, but the security of the connection cannot be confirmed. It says someone could be trying to supplant the site, and recommends not continuing.

We are scanning with eset. I tried removing gmail notifier, that didn't help. There is an option in firefox to continue despite the warning, but we chose not to do that. We've gone into the google account normally accessed on that computer and changed it's password.

What's going on here? Any thoughts?
thanks

Answer:browsers won't access google account, say connection can't be verified

Update - the scan with eset turned up no less than 5 suspicious files, related to a Mexico version of warcraft our nephew plays. However, after deleting those, the problem continued. We uninstalled Eset and installed Avast, and scanned again. That turned up another problem file, which was also deleted. Problem continued. We reinstalled Firefox, that didn't help. Next step is to reinstall XP, we need to do a fair bit of backing up first. But I would like to know what is happening. I'll try to look more for information on this error.

I did notice that there was a Windows Auto Update that was done last Wednesday (which is when this problem started), but I uninstalled that update and still no luck.

I want to dual boot windows 7 and windows 10.

I have windows 7 installed on my C drive. (disk manage image attached)

Win 10 (D drive) where I want to install windows 10.

IN installation process:
"Getting files ready for installation" completes about 25% and then it reboots and shows the error.

http://www.tenforums.com/attachments...windows_10.jpg
In boot option I have
1) Windows setup
2) Windows 7

When I click on option 1(setup), it shows the error and setup cannot from that point progress.

I have no problem booting and running windows 7(option 2).

Answer:winload.exe digital signature cannot be verified error code:0xc0000428

Hmm, maybe the logical partition causes a problem. (You can install on a logical as long as boot files are on primary as far as I know but who knows ).

Is the iso in good shape? Any memory issues?

I removed these drivers from their original directory to another folder in My Documents:usbstor.sysusbport.sysusbstor.infusbport.infusb.infusb.pnfusbstor.pnfusbport.pnfI went to Device Manager and uninstalled all USB Root Hubs. After rebooting the XP PC, thinking the drivers would be recreated, the USB Root Hub, keyboard and mouse are not installed. Now the XP PC is asking for the location of the drivers to install the USB Root Hub. I can't choose the folder's location in My Documents because the keyboard and mouse don't work.I downloaded the exact same drivers from the internet which should work on our Windows XP Professional SP2 32-bit PC.I burned the downloaded drivers to a cd using another PC. Inserted it into the XP PC and it almost worked. Installation was interrupted because the drivers are not verified by Microsoft. It's asking me to Continue Anyway or STOP Installation. I can't choose Continue Anyway because the mouse don't work.Where can I get the same drivers only verified? Help me please. Thanks.[recovering disk space, attachment deleted by admin]

So, when I started my laptop this morning I got the error:

"A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged....... error 0xc0000428."

I hit 'Enter' and it takes me to the screen to select an OS and the only one available is Windows 7 Home Premium. I can either hit F8 to supposedly select advanced options or enter to boot Windows 7. There are NO tools listed or boot options listed like there normally is. I'm just able to hit 'enter' or F8 and both of them take me back to that orignal error screen. Basically, I'm stuck in a loop between those two.

I tried my Windows 7 recovery CD but it still just takes me to these two screens and I can't get out of it.

I have searched other forums and threads and there is help for this issue, but everyone is able to use their recovery CD and I cannot.

Answer:winload.exe digital signature not verified & boot manager loop

Boot from Windows 7 recovery CD. Then select "command prompt". Where is bootmgr file?

attrib c:\bootmgr
attrib d:\bootmgr
attrib e:\bootmgr

Is it on C,D or E? Assume on E

Code:

attrib -s -h e:\bootmgr
del e:\bootmgr
Now perform a "startup repair"

Acronis True Image Home 2011 Backup Software is a commercially available backup software.  It has been verified to back and restore successfully on at least one attempt so far.  What occurred was XP HOME with SP2 is installed on the IBM Thinkpad T20 (year 2000 model).  Then Acronis True Image 2011 backup onto a secure separate partition on the same hard drive.  After finding out the machine could not handle the additional new added miscellaneous softwares, an attempt to restore to the plain XP on the secure zone is made through Acronis.  Then after reboot, it started and everything is working fine. Therefore, this post is to inform anyone interested of an alternative verified backup software for IBM Thinkpad T20 and XP HOME with SP2. -best regards and happy computing

Answer:Acronis True Image Home 2011 Backup Software verified on T20

Hello,

No specific recommendation as to disk imaging software, but I wrote a document on various backup strategies that you might find of interest:  Options for backing up your computer [PDF]

By the way, you might want to consider installing Microsoft Windows XP SP3 and all post-SP3 updates on the T20, just to get it up to date with all of the security and reliability updates Microsoft has made since SP2 was released.

I just bought this computer: http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668606.php

I would like to download some software on there like Google Chrome, itunes, etc. But IE8 doesn't want to let me download anything without a "verified signature". How do I get around this? (I wasn't entirely sure where to post this question as I don't know if it is Windows 7 or Internet Explorer 8 that is the problem.)

Thanks for your time!

After forcing a hard reset after my laptop hung up for a long time without any display it started trying to repair itself, unsuccessfully. It now permanently hangs up with the following message:
Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
The Operating system couldn't be loaded because the digital signature of a file couldn't be verified.
File: \WINDOWS\System32\intelpep.sys
Error Code: 0xc0000428
You'll need to use recovery tools.  If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device).  Contact your PC Administrator or PC/Device Manufacturer

Android Developers Blog: Strictly Enforced Verified Boot with Error Correction | Android Developers Blog

"Android uses multiple layers of protection to keep users safe. One of these layers is verified boot, which improves security by using cryptographic integrity checking to detect changes to the operating system. Android has alerted about system integrity since Marshmallow, but starting with devices first shipping with Android 7.0, we require verified boot to be strictly enforcing. This means that a device with a corrupt boot image or verified partition will not boot or will boot in a limited capacity with user consent. Such strict checking, though, means that non-malicious data corruption, which previously would be less visible, could now start affecting process functionality more."
In other words:

"A system integrity feature that prohibits Android mobile devices from booting when the presence of malware is suspected will now be strictly enforced in version 7.0 (Nougat). Unfortunately, the function is so sensitive, it also prevents perfectly legitimate boot attempts when a harmless, non-malicious data corruption surfaces during the start-up process."

I'm trying to play Runescape (nerd much?) and I keep getting the stupid Java "This publisher could not be verified." warning. I don't believe i have gpedit.msc however I do have regedit.

Answer:How do I disable the "This publisher could not be verified." warning?!

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I don't want to preach, but before you disable warnings of this kind you may wish to consider you have a possible virus infection.

I'd be inclined to run a full virus scan in Safe Mode, for which Malwarebytes is highly recommended.

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a free download that removes viruses and malware from your computer

My toolbar contains an icon that links to a program in my "C:\Program Files (x86)\" folder. Every single time I click on the icon I get the attached pop-up window. The window keeps appearing even if I uncheck "Always ask before opening this file" and click "Run" and enter in the admin username and password. Why does the message keep appearing and how do I disable it entirely?

Answer:How do I disable the "The publisher could not be verified..." warning?

Hello MrSnrub, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if option one in the tutorial below to unblock the .exe file of the program may help get trid of this message for you.

Open File - Security Warning : Unblock File

Hope this helps,

Personally I'm not liking this. To sum the article up it says that there is no way to perform a clean install with the Windows 7 upgrade disc. You can only perform an upgrade with it and there is no "work around" like in Vista.

There is a a great comemnt that sums up my thoughts "Way to tell everyone this right after the huge preorders for the upgrade version finish."

I guess Microsoft hasn't changed that much after all. I'd rather have them make good products then have good customer service I guess.

http://hothardware.com/News/Rules-fo...ades-Verified/

Answer:"Rules" for Windows 7 Upgrade Verified

That's just BS. For one thing that article mentions upgrading RC Windows 7 and that will not be possible as it will require a clean install, but the same clean install method available in Vista will work in Windows 7.0.

this is more of an annoyance than a real problem but I'd sure like to know how to stop it from happening.

I work for a small company, doing Technical support. We have three of four applications that I have to open every day, programs written internally by our programming department. The programs sit out on a server, but I have a local shortcut and confuguration file to run them over the Network. Every time I close and re-open these programs, I get the infernal warning message:

"The Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?"
Underneath is the message "this file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher. You should only run software from publishers that you trust"

I have to click "run" to get it to launch, and it opens fine. It just irks me that I can't figure out how to tell Windows to quit bothering me and just open the program!

Is there not some place where I can go and tell Windows which programs to open it every time, and add it to a trusted list somehow?

Answer:turn off "Publisher could not be verified" message

thanks !! that seems to have worked, that means any .exe file will run without prompting.
I'm a bit surprised there's no method to selectively choose individual .exe files, like a firewall program can do.

Since my original thread regarding this problem is closed (too old, from November 2008), I am continuing it on this new thread.

As a reminder, somehow for some strange reason, my Windows XP Pro SP2 laptop stopped giving me warnings for unsigned downloadable programs. I tried (almost?) everything conceivable to fix that - to no avail. Here is the original thread:

I *want* the "Publisher Could Not be Verified" warning!

I eventually got to implementing the last suggestion (sfc /scannow), but that didn't help either.

I am out of ideas, totally baffled by this mystery.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Answer:I *want* the "Publisher Could Not be Verified" warning (cont'd)

Eureka! I can't believe this... I think that I solved the mystery: Said warning does appear but only for programs that I download via Internet Explorer!

I was testing this function all that time by downloading via Firefox 2.0...

Apparently, the hint has always been there, in the form of the registry key path: as its name implies, it is intended for Internet Explorer. Duh!

However, I could swear that it worked via Firefox, too, on the other machine. The other machine has Firefox 3.0. Is it possible that Firefox 3.0 supports this feature while Firefox 2.0 doesn't?

Question: Windows10

I can't play Star Wars on Windows 10. And I can't figure out how to revert the operating system back to Windows 8, there's no backup on it. But it came with widows 8.

Answer:Windows10

If your computer(no description given) originally came with Windows 8, it would've had to be upgraded to Windows 8.1 first before if could be upgraded to Windows 10.

If it's been more than 30 days since you upgraded it to Windows 10, you no longer have the option to revert it back to Windows 8.1.

Question: windows10

When ever I am using an app in windows 10 a portion of my screen flashes what seems to be the outline of another window. In one instance the flash stayed on long enough to reveal a black background with white font, similar to a command based screen. I would like to disable this annoying feature.

Possibly related to the flashing screen is the disappearance of the free games app; 'microsoft solitaire' that was included during my recent upgrade to 10. I could use some help in re loading this app to see if that solves the flashing issue.

Thank you

Answer:windows10

the solitaire app has been reloaded and no change on the irritating flashing. ty
