Preferred Solution: Flex 3 1120 - Graphics card upgrade?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently updated to the Windwos 10 Fall Creators update (Build 1709, 16299.125), and as soon as I updated, the graphics driver failed and switched to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. I tried updating and rolling back the driver without success. My driver right now is at the latest version (10.18.10.4358). I already tried fixing this issue with Microsoft support but they couldn't find any solutions. Microsoft Support Link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/intel-hd-graphics-not-working-...

I just received my new Lenovo Flex 3-1120 ( Model: 80LX001KUS).  As delivered, it has 32G of eMMC.  I am desirous of upgrading the machine with a Hard Drive (which I have purchased).    I have discovered that due to the fact that the stock configuration does not have a hard drive that there are two parts that are needed to house and connect the hard drive.  From Lenovo?s parts list those parts are:5B40J08368 HDD Bracket  and5C10J08424 HDD Cable As much as I have tried I cannot find any option for purchasing these parts on-line. Please advise of options to acquire.

I have a Lenovo Flex 3 1120. When I bought it, I went for the hard drive option that had the cheapest price since all the other options were HDD of various sizes and I knew I was going to upgrade to SSD anyway. The flex 3 I have though, does not have a HDD and uses an eMMC embedded storage. When I went to install the SSD, there is an empty space for where the hard drive would sit and there is no SATA connection. There is a socket in the board that is labeled "SATA conn1" but no cable.

I called support and was told it is possible to use the SSD and boot from it. The cable and caddy can be purchased but she said Lenovo will not supply the part. I found the part number I think,  1109-01051, but apparently no one else sells it either. There was one on ebay, but it's gone. anyone know where I can find one?

Answer:Flex 3 1120.- No SATA connection!

update: the item number is actually 5C10J08424. I still had a hard time a seller with it in stock. One website wanted about $70 for it not including shipping. I finally found/bought one on encompassparts.com for about $20 including shipping. I'll update once I get to try it out.

I have a new Flex 3 it was working fine yesterday, I shut it down last night and plugged it in, it seems to have a good charge (and I have tried it plugged in as well), but this morning it will not boot up.  I hope I don't have to take this back to BB today, any ideas?

Answer:Flex 3 -1120 wont power on

I had the same issue. it appears that a driver was installed but the system has stalled. It actually happened twice. I sent it in and they "refreshed" it and it did it again. I let the power die on it and it started back up. I don't know of a way to manually shut it down. The old way was take the battery out but its not the case here. The battery is sealed in side and I didn't want to give them a reason to void the warranty. You can charge stuff with the usb while it's unplugged, try draining the battery that way with a phone or tablet.

Hello, My windows updated a few weeks ago and after the update I had a few issues with my touch pad and sound. I was able to roll back my touch pad driver and fix the problem but there has been no update to Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for several years so there was nothing to roll back to. The issue I have been having that my sound has been contstently going up leaving the sound bar on the screen (A picture is attach below if it helps). This has become very annoying since I  have not found a way to get rid of this. So far I have tried updating and deleting then reinstalling the driver but the sound bar remains. Therefore, is there any way I can fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks,SoundMax

When I push the start button on right side of the notebook, it will begin to start up.  The 'Lenovo' screen comes on but then the screen goes black and does not start.  I try pushing the start button again but not until I push it for a third time will the windows come up on the screen.  Is this normal or is there a problem I should have fixed?  thanks

My battery was charging fine and then I clicked on the battery icon today to open up and the menu and it went from telling me the battery was plugged in and charging to plugged in and not charging. It was like clicking the icon turned off the charging capability. This is a brand new computer, I've only had it for a couple weeks. The battery and adapater are both okay according to OneKey Optimizer, so I can't figure out why it's not charging. Currently running Windows 10 if that helps.

Answer:Lenovo Flex 3-1120 Plugged in, not charging

Does your battery stay at about 60%?  If so, then there actually is no problem.  Lenovo Flex 3 has a feature called "Conservation Mode," which keeps the battery from charging all the way.  This will supposedly increase the lifespan of the battery, which is a good thing, since the battery isn't meant to be replaced.  If you want to charge the battery normally, just click on the battery guage on the taskbar.  You'll find the setting there.

Earlier today I booted up my computer and noticed the Nvidia control panel wasn't an option on the right click context menu. After going to services.msc, I noticed the Nvidia display driver service wasn't running, and if I tried to start it, it would immediately crash. I then went to device manager, and saw that under Display Adapters, the only visible one was Intel Integrated Graphics. I wiped the Nvidia drivers, and when I tried installing the latest ones I was told that "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I've already tried resetting BIOS, which did nothing. My concern here is that either the graphics card has died, or it has been shaken out of place somehow. Are there any suggestions you can offer to fix this, or will I have to take apart the laptop? Thanks for your help.Specs: CPU: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-4200U @ 1.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHzRAM: 4GB (4096 MB)GPU: Intel Integrated Graphics (Onboard), Nvidia Geforce GT 720M (Discrete)Model: Lenovo Flex 14

HelloI have a flex 3 1470 (model 80JK001GUS) which comes with a NVIDIA graphics card (940m). I recently had a problem with power, I took it to a lenovo service center, and they replaced the motherboard to fix it. However, After replacing the motherboard, my laptop does not detect the presence of an NVIDIA card; I cannot install new drivers because it says that there is no card either.  The device manager lists it as "disconnected" (code 45) and has it hidden.  Here is what i have attempted to do so far(I have a restore point set before the attempts so if it doesnt work i can go back)1. Hi this is my first question here.
I just bought a M900 SFF (i7-6700) which has a 210W PSU. I want to get a MSI 750ti low profile GPU but worried about the lack of power so Im considering upgrading the original PSU.
However, the motherboard has a Lenovo style 10-pin ATX and another 4-pin. So far I couldn't find any PSU that matches the motherboard. I would really appreciate some help!

Mod:  edited Subject line to add other system types that can use the same power supply and graphics cards

Also, I tried using the 750ti LP with the current 210W PSU. It worked fine with Would of Warcraft, but I havn't try other programs that might have higher power demand. Do you think I should keep looking for a PSU upgrade plan or is it actually just fine with the 210W? I used a PSU calculator and for my current system (with 750ti) it gave a 205W estimation, which is just under 210W.

I've read many similar posts here on this problem, but found no clear solution. I bought this partly for the advertised 'potential for upgrade', which now seems to me a lie because I can't even upgrade a PSU???

I have a desktop system which is quite old. But it was quite decent to play some of the games infact still now there is not any issues in it.Recently some of the new games stopped working in my desktop. Tekken 7 for example gave me an error which says "graphics card doesn't meet minimum requirements". I dont have quite a powerful graphics card in my system that may be the reason. But surprisingly the same game worked on my office's desktop which was Dell Optiplex 3040 with no graphics card and i5 processor. Here is the snap of my system...Do I need to upgrade the graphics card only or the whole system. If possible I would like to spend my whole budget for decent graphics card if upgrading only it can solve the issue...

Answer:Do I have to upgrade Graphics Card only or the whole Mobo + Graphics Card

I dont see your system specs or a snapshot of system. Knowing model number and make of computer works as well instead of a snapshot if you know that. So what is the system specs of computer info of the system that your thinking about upgrading?Your office computer the Optiplex with the Core i5 is able to handle games because the Integrated Intel HD Graphics are actually not that bad. The Intel HD Graphics can make games playable, but depending on the game they will either play well or play ok, or crawl with low frame rate. The error message your getting is that the game tests the hardware before it runs and due to GPU being to old it will abort and give up this message. The good thing is that most desktops have a PCI Express slot available to add a video card. The video card to add depends on if its a small form factor type of computer or small tower where card dimensions might be an issue was well as what you have for a power supply and what type of card you want to add to just be able to play the games or do you want the higher end performance such as from a nVidia GTX GPU card where you might have to also upgrade the power supply to handle the heavier load of the system. Lastly some games are GPU intensive, but happy with 1 or 2 cores of a CPU. Are there any other games other than Tekken 7 that dont play that you would like to play? As well as any games your considering buying in the future to where we need to make sure you dont under upgrade your system and end up ha... Read more

Hi everyone....

Current PC specs listed above ..... to get it out of the way I am a gamer......

This upgrade is to allow me to play some of the newer games such as The Witcher and also to enable me to utilize DX10 when I eventually upgrade to Vista.

RAM.....this is what I have found...I do not overclock and I am very happy with the matched pair of Corasir XMS 512MB 5400C4 running at 533 that I currently have so I figured the safe bet is in just jumping to a matched pair of 1MB sticks of the same.....

Graphics card.....

I do have a budget and from the reviews I have read this card should carry me through the gaming world for at least the next year (hopefully 2) I like eVGA and I have nothing but good things to say about the eVGA 6800GS that I am currently using.

But if anyone has some input as to problems with the card listed below or if you know of another card that will perform just as well (or better) for around the same price I would like to hear about it.

Hi,
My system came with a R9 270 which I want to replace with a Sapphire Dual X R9 R280x.
That card needs a 6pin and an 8pin connection and the manufacturer's site say a 500W PSU is advised.
So, I'm concerned that I get a new PSU that fits my case, has the right connectors for all the 8700 components, and is say north of 600W.
Could anyone point me in the right direction.
My system info is......

I've been considering the idea of upgrading my graphics card to deal with the new, more graphically demanding games of the future. I donít have a limitless budget, I wanted to ask people who knew a great deal more than I do what particular graphic card upgrades I should consider. Iím not made of money so obviously hi-end hardware is out of the question but something better than I have now and with some longevity to it would be sweet.

Would the CPU work on my motherboard?

I know this set up is old and so on but I just want to get a decent graphics card and CPU to get the WEI to all over 7.0 so i can use this as a backup.

Here is the processor support list for that motherboard:

http://uk.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=2314

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 appears to be a supported processor.

--------------------------------------------------------

The 6670 appears to require at least a 400W power supply.

The 6770 appears to require at least a 500W power supply.

My packard bell ipower 9920 has a gtx 260 card and recently i have noticed that the backgrounds on games such as warframe "ripple" a bit when i turn. I would like to replace it with something like the gtx 750 that can be bought from shops such as pc world for around £129. Short of taking my current card out of my tower and comparing it with what i intend to buy , how do i know if the replacement will have the right sockets etc and be compatable with the rest of my system without having to upgrade anything else.

Answer:graphics card upgrade

The issue is likely to be one of available space in your system unit, and possibly whether your power supply is man enough. Either by researching or opening up your PC, find out the dimensions of your existing graphics card. Compare those with the dimensions of the GTX750. Also: check the wattage of your PSU, and see what PSU is recommended for the GTX750. At a guess, you won't have a problem - but check it out. Both will be PCI Express cards, so sockets etc. shouldn't be an issue.

This computer was given to us free(so we're on a budget)Problem: My daughter got the "Let's Ride Silver Buckle Stables" game for Christmas and it say that it requires the following: Win98/Me/2000/Xp, Pentium III 700mhz or 100% compatible, 256MB RAM, 32MB DirectX 8.1 compliant video card.We have: Compaq Presario, Windows 98SE, AMD Athlon 700 mhz K7, 256 RAM (Max of 384 if we add another 128 chip), 250W PSU, 4 - PCI Slots(1open), 1 - AGP (1.0, 1X 2X, 3.3V)Slot currently with a 3dfx Vodoo3 16 MB card.Question: Will our machine support a DirectX8.1 compliant card off of a 250W power supply and only a AGP 1.0 3.3V slot?Thank You!William

Answer:Graphics Card Upgrade Help!

ATI Radeon 9200se in PCI. I had one and it was very reliable and would play most anything, expect to pay 65 to 75 dollars.I do not think that you can put newer AGP cards (1.1v) in the old 3.3v slots but I am sure the 9200se in PCI would work.http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=84766&Tab=0&NoMapp=0Almost forgot- I ran this card off my old 250watt power supply for over a year.

Right now I have a dual-graphics card setup which was pre-built when I bought it.

Hi I am new to this site I am running XP on Tiny pc pentium 111 about 5 years old I want to use google earth but it is very slow to load I understand that I need a graphics card that is 3D-capable with 32MB ram and screen should be 32-bit True colour
My existing card is Intel(r) 82810 I assume this is not 3d capable I can only configure screen to medium 16 bit or high 24 bit not 32 bit as recommended, does anyone know if I should upgrade graphics card and if so what do I purchase. Are they easy to install, is it just a matter of swopping the old for new? I am not a techi so plain advice please
Thanks

Answer:graphics card upgrade

Yes, buying a new graphic card is very simple and easy, it's quite unlikely that any problems should occur. However, your Pentium III is probably another one of your limiting factors.

As for the graphics card, all you have to do is first find out which interface (slot) your motherboard supports. Most motherboards during the Pentium III age would of been AGP or PCI. All you need to do is find a suitable graphics card for your motherboard, purchase it (obviously ) and slot it into the correct slot on the motherboard. After that you may need to install some drivers which should be provided on a CD-ROM

Hi all, new to the forums, a girlfriend suggested asking for help here. So here goes.

I currently have a Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 (256 MB) card. I am looking at upgrading. The reason, my son plays BF2 and says a better card will improve his game play. The shops suggest the 6600 256mb card ($199aus) or the 6600 Gt for $300aus. I do not want to spend too much, $200 was the extreme limit of what I can budget for. Is this a good buy or should I be looking at a different card or maybe go secondhand.

My system specs are
P4 3ghz
Windows xp pro service pack 2
512 mb
Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 (256 MB)

Thanks for any help or hints that you may have.

Answer:Graphics card upgrade

prices sound about right, dont bother with 256mb on a 6600 series card, what about a 6600gt with 128mb? PC hardware isnt like a car, they have extremly good life expectancy in terms of reliability (as long as you dont smash it or something). If you can find a 6600GT 128mb used then more power to you.

Hello, i am looking to upgrade my old PC's GPU as well as CPU.

The motherboard does have the required slots for a new graphics card. Right now it has an integrated one ( ATI Radeon 2100 ) as well as a weak one core processor (amd sempron 140). The motherboard is FOXCONN A74ML-K. What are some good, but rather cheap graphics cards as well as a processor which will fit my motherboard, both for the price of £120 combined? I would like to use this computer for light gaming, i dont expect ultra settings on every game, just want them to be playable. And can this motherboard work with any processor and graphics cards?

Thanks for suggestions

I am currently running a single XFX 6600GT 256MB PCI-e GPU with an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium mobo with an AMD 64 3500 CPU and 1GB RAM.With Xmas money burning a hole in my pocket, I have another 1GB RAM in the post and am trying to decide whether to upgrade my graphics card and/or CPU. What sort of card should I be looking at with my £100?I know this sort of thing can be subjective and it depends on what I use the PC for most, but I'm just trying to get a few real life views based on experience really.Thx

@SpitFire1 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!Sorry, but unlike desktops, which use cards, laptops have chips that are soldered directly to the motherboard or system board, or come in the form of "modules".Only a very limited subset of HP laptops actually allow the replacement of processor, audio, video or WiFi "modules" and, as far as I can tell, yours is not one of these models. This means there is really no way to upgrade the video, WiFi, or processor on your laptop. You're stuck with what came with the PC.

Hi, UEFI enabled graphics cards vary by manufacturer.  Check with the specific manufacturer.  You might want to consider the EVGA NVIDIA GT 640. The GT 640 only requires a 350 watt power supply and is a single slot card. It's $70.  Check with EVGA for compatibility before you buy.

Answer:Graphics Card Upgrade

Two things to watch for:  your system likely doesn't have power connectors for a video card, so be sure the card you buy doesn't need them.s
The other thing is to make sure the card you want fits the system physically - there are differences in physical size depending on the card you choose.
Otherwise, that chip should work -- provided the card itself fits your chassis and draws power only from the mainboard.

Hi. I am looking to upgrade my graphics card but I know little about the PCI series of cards. I have a GeForce 7300se in my machine at the moment, not a great card I know. I have a Packard Bell with a Intel Core 2 6300 1.86GHz and 1GB of ram. I was looking to spend around £100. I am also thinking of upgrading to Vista and am worried that this graphics card will not be good enough for the upgrade. The upgrade came free with the pc and is being sent to me on disc. What is the best type of card to get for this amount of money as I dont want to upgrade my CPU just yet. Any help would be great thanks

Answer:Graphics Card Upgrade

your card will be good enough to run vista. I would add another 1gb of ram as vista is faster with 2gb. If you want a dx10 graphics card there are 8600 cards coming out in a few weeks, these should be more affordable than the 8800 versions.

Well, it looks like your motherboard will support a PCIX video card. Personally, I'd recommend an ATI X1650Pro 512mb. Lots of bang for the buck. I've always been partial to NVidia products (I still am!) but the power/price ratio on this card cannot be ignored. You should be able to buy one from your local PC shop for under $140 or online for less than $120....

download your motherboard manual for full info, as you have an old card it will probably be agp, this is the kind of slot on the motherboard that the card fits into. If you have a laptop no upgrade is possible. Have you checked if the rest of your system can run vista.

Hi,

I assembled my PC in mid 2010 and it's still runs OK for my purposes except that I feel that Firefox and other programs that I use feel somehow sluggish and I attribute this to the naive graphics card I'm using (AMD RADEON HD 5450) even with the latest Catalyst drivers. I picked this up on purpose because it has no fan (I'm not a gamer anyway).
Now that it's 2014, I'm asking a recommendation for a more powerful graphics card that uses no fan at all in order to enjoy more powerful graphics in Firefox, youtube, flash, photoshop,...etc without adding any extra noise.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Better no fan graphics card for upgrade

I sort of doubt that it is your sluggish problem especially with Firefox. That could be due to your internet connection.

What size hard drive and is it close to being full? Do you defrag it periodically?

With that said, check out the Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GT730 4GB.

I am currently using a GeForce MX/MX 400 graphics card. Forgive me if the answer is obvious, as I am a bit illiterate when it comes to computers, but should I upgrade to something better? And if so, how do I know if a better graphics card is compatiable with my system or not?? I hope this isn't a hard question to answer... cause if I have to upgrade half a dozen things on my computer BEFORE I can even get a new graphics card... well, I really can't afford that, lol.

I am into PC gaming, and games seem to be needing higher minimum requirements all the time, which is why I am considering the upgrade. The graphics card I'm using now had a driver issue, where I have to use 56.73 to play Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, but that driver won't let me play City of Heroes. I have to upgrade the driver to 66.93 to play that game, but then the Vampire game has horrible graphic issues suddenly, so I have to rollback to 56.73 again JUST TO PLAY THE NEWER OF THE TWO GAMES!

I figure that maybe an upgrade would fix all this, and probably wouldn't hurt anyway since newer games will probably require me to upgrade later on anyway.

If anyone could shed some light on my situation, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Although my computer is less than a year old, I think it's time to upgrade some of its parts. Mainly speaking the RAM chips, and video card, all in the name of improving gaming experience. (Half life 2 on full power requires one helluva beast of a machine to run flawlessly).

I've got a Toshiba Satellite A75 (not sure on the other 4 numbers, but I will find them) dual 3.06 Ghz P4's, ATi Mobility Radeon 9100 IGP AGP internal DAC (400Mhz) (128Mb) I think 512MB RAM, but on the system info screen it says I've got 384mb RAM. 60 (56)GB hard drive. Matshita DVD-ram RW. My screen can run up to the 1280x800x60hz setting, which it's on normally, and sometimes reduced for games. Anything else I left out, let me know.

I think I've found the RAM chip that I want, the Kingston 1GB DDR SODIMM . It's the most RAM I can cram into this Toshiba, or at least the most that is listed as per Toshiba's website. A member an another board recommended THIS. It looks like the same product and has the saem specs, anyone think it's different or see and conflictions? I think this needs to be upped as sometimes during HL2DM, I get a blue screen of death saying that a memory dump is being performed, and I have to restart.

I was hoping to stick with ATi as the current chip I have now has been good to me, and HL2 seems to run a little better on an ATi chip.

I can't really find another Mobility Radeon chip for sale, even though ATi has them listed on their si... Read more

Answer:Graphics Card upgrade

you can't upgrade the graphics card, the bottleneck of the integrated card is not with the amount of ram used, but rather the GPU processing power itself. 256 mb is more than enough, there is no performance gain by using more ram.

Good morning,

I'm looking for some general advice around my graphics card on my rig. The rig itself is just over 3 years old now (see specs next to my name) It was a customised one and at the time I went for pretty much the best of everything that I could afford at the time. I have upgraded a couple of things, namely memory and hard-drives over the past couple of years, but I've not really needed to do much else as even by todays standards it runs games on high sometimes ultra..depending.

I'm looking at either obtaining another GTX280 (1gb) and running in SLI (I know its dated now but as previously mentioned it still runs games at high) I am bidding on a couple on ebay...as it seems I can't get them from many places now. My other option is to splash out on one of the newer GTX 680 cards... but at £370 I don't think I can justify it on the basis that I don't think it will improve my system by £370! I can probably pick up a GTX 280 for between £60 - £80 or less if i'm lucky!

What are your thoughts?

Answer:Graphics card upgrade

It appears that you have an AGP video slot. This is an aging platform, and options for AGP video cards are limited unless you go with a used one. Look for a 256bit card for starters, and understand that with a powerful video card comes the need for a powerful power supply. Make sure your current one is up to the task. Some good 256bit AGP video cards are: NVidia 6800GT/Ultra; ATI Radeon X1900/X1950 (I just sold my X1950GT AGP card); ATI HD3850 (new; I think Sapphire makes 'em; about $200+); NVidia 7800/7900....

Good luck!

I'm thinking of upgrading the graphics card in my t410 from the stock and was wondering, first of all, it's possible.  And if it can be done what the process is like so I can decide if I can reasonably do it myself or if I should find someone with experience to do it for me..

Answer:Graphics card upgrade, possible?

There is no card. The graphics is built into the motherboard

What kind of computer do you have? Have you updated it since you got it (adding stuff inside)?
Also, that is the drivers, they probably did something where those became uninstalled, because nothing is "Standard VGA Graphics" every company gives their cards names.

Hi

I currently have a nvidia geforce 9500 GS 512mb dedicated graphics card.
Its not that old, but from what i hear its not that good eaither. I couldnt find this particular one on the list of graphics cards on the forums aswell which im not sure is good.

I was wondering which graphics card i should upgrade to, as im not too sure since theres so many differant ones. I play quite a few games and i use my pc alot of the time so i would like quite a good one.

Could anyone recommend one for me if they know a good one?

Thanks

Answer:which graphics card to upgrade too?

Your CPU will bottleneck any good GPU unless you take it past 3 ghz. Do you have a good power supply? What model/brand? How about a budget?

I hope someone can help me with this.
I have a compaq presario running windows ME. I have 64mb ram, an AMD processor 900mhz. My original graphics card is a s3 with 8mb memory. In order to run sims2 I need 32mb video memory on a t&l compatible card (I have no idea what that means). I bought a NVIDIA Geforce4 64mb DDR PCI card. I've tried everything and can't get it to work. I've come to the conclusion that I bought the wrong card. What should I have bought. What's the best upgrade at a comparable price.

you will have to see if there is a pci express slot for a card to fit in as you have integrated graphics on the motherboard [no card].

Hi All,
I had purchased a Dell-Inspiron 13500 a year back. After using it for a year,I do think that I should upgrade the Intel Graphics to a Nvidia Card.So , I wanted to ask of their is any way I should upgrade it or not and if yes, how to upgrade it.

Answer:Graphics Card upgrade

To do this, you must replace the mainboard - which will also mean replacing the CPU.  You'll also need a new heatsink assembly and likely, a new AC power adapter.   Together, plan on it costing about $250-300  in parts, plus the labor to do the installation if you don't do it yourself.

Hi AllI am looking to upgrade my graphics card due to problems with my current one. If I have it the refresh rate turned on, my screen keeps shutting off and sometimes shuts the computer down. On restart I get a message saying that I have a problem with graphics system and can resolve it by reducing the refresh rate, increasing it at a later date. I currently run a "ATI Radeon GHz 7500 128MB DDR(64MB)", I have been to their web site to see if there are any new drivers I could download. The only one I can seem to get directed to is the Catalyst Software Suite, I have downloaded this and it make the flickering worse and crashes my computer more often.I sent an email to click here to ask their advice. The reply I got "With regards to the type of GFX card that you can fit in your PC you would need to refer to your Motherboard's details either on their Technical support or via their website. They should also be able to tell you re compatibility issues". I have read a few other queries on the forum about this and used Belarc Advisor scan on my system, the details listed below.Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-8ST800 1.xBus Clock: 133 megahertzBIOS: Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG 02/14/2003I have been to click here to get the information, but they don't have anything about the above motherboard.I use my computer mainly for surfing the web, database and word processing, photo editing and limited gaming, also starting to do some web design. The remainder parts of my s...
