Preferred Solution: AMD Graphics Driver Error "Failed To Load Detection Driver"

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Problem:
My Windows 7 Professional "Explorer" tree (not Internet Explorer) no longer lists my CD/DVD ROM DRIVE under the Device Manager/Drives. It used to.

I've checked the System Registry and it has lots of info about that ATAPI drive, but my system fails to find the "cdrom" driver (which is the one Windows 7 uses by default). It's not a 3rd-party driver.

The tray on my CD/DVD drive opens and closes properly. Windows just won't recognize the drive, so I can't use it.

I'm hoping someone can offer a 'manual' solution to get it working again. I do not want to spend a month to reinstall my OS and tons of hard-to-configure software. I've read countless other posts and solutions, both here and on MS's sites. The info on MS's sites is not even understandable. It's too vague and often doesn't even apply to my situation.

Note: The error (7026) message is:

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:

Guys,

Please review this issue for me as I need the answer for my references. This sometimes applies to setting up a new Internet Connection in Win 95 or 98. Let's say, that you have set up a new Internet Connection with new ISP path settings. Your asked to do a system restart, you do a restart and all is well until you get to a second screen in the bios that either says:

"Ethernet Adaptor failed to load press any key to retry" OR

"Ethernet driver failed to load press any key to retry"

I can't remember what the message says, but it's one or the other! after the word "Driver" or "Adaptor" it gives the driver name. You CAN however still get into Windows by pressing any key....But, the message will come up until you remove the driver.

I vaguely remember that to remove this message you go under Device Manager, under "Networking" and remove a device that has an exclamation point under it (This removes the network driver that doesn't load) But what does this message mean and how does it happen to get there in the first place? I know that it happens when setting up a new Internet Connection sometimes, but I need to know the exact steps for removing the driver because I might be changing ISP's in the future, and need to know what to do if this message comes up again! Thanks!

Jack

Answer:What Does "Ethernet Driver Failed To Load" Mean?

i think the message means that the driver is corrupted/not responding

why it happens, i dont know, but if u are installing a separate software to connect to your isp, this software might be the problem

the proper way of removing the driver is to delete it from device manager

Hello,
I have bought a laptop model XPS 13 9350. It came with preinstalled Win10 Home Edition but i need Pro.
I get into the Windows Setup screen but at custom installation it doesnt see the drive or existing partitions and i get the message "We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver". I wasnt able to find such a driver and i have no instalation media.
In BIOS i have disabled "Secure Boot" and enabled "Legacy Option ROMs" in order to be able to boot from a USB stick since this model, being slim, dropped the CD/DvD drive bay. I have also tried to update it from Windows and introduce the new key ive got but i get the message it can't....
Any tips will be much apreciated.
Best regards,
Adrian

It was the sata configuration on raid to blame, switched to AHCI and it worked.

Answer:Win10 Installation: "We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver."

Thanks for your help. I had turned off Secure Boot but that wasn't enough.
Switching the SATA mode in setup to AHCI from RAID did the trick. Thank you so much

I've had my computer for about 3 months, and about 1 month into owning it, it started restarting every time I tried to defragment it. I'd get a blue screen that said "Windows was shut down due to a serious error," and when it restarted and I sent the error report, it would say "Error Caused by Graphics Device Driver."
I ended up running a hard disk check w/ seagate software and it said my hard drive is seriously damaged and should be replaced, but the graphics driver thing made me think it could be that also.

Lately the computer has been doing this same restart every time I leave the computer idle, so I am worried it is getting worse.

I have a 6800 GT, I have the most updated drivers, I've tried rolling back (the most updated are all I have), and uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics drivers.
I've also installed the drivers for my monitor.

Any ideas welcome, I plan on sending the hard drive to Seagate for a new one if nothing else comes to light, since their program DID say it was seriously damaged. However I and others figured this might be a problem related to something else.

HELP NEEDED PLZ!
Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing good today and able to beat the heat on this very hot day. I have this really old laptop HP Pavillion dv6000. Originally it came with Windows Vista installed back when Windows Vista was first released but eventually I upgraded the laptop to Windows 7. Everything was fine and working until recently where the laptop has no sound. I try to install the sound driver from the HP website and it says "driver installation failed: could not find the device for this driver." No matter what I do I cannot get sound on this laptop. If I go to YouTube and watch a video the video plays just fine but with no sound. When I click on the sound icon next to the time on the desktop bar a window pops up that says "troubleshooting has completed" Problems found: "Hardware changes might not have been detected." I am not sure what is up with this or how to fix it but any help is appreciated thanks.

Answer:It says "driver installation failed could not find the device for this driver"

A Vista laptop likely doesn't have Win7 drivers written...try re-installing the originals from the Driver CD and reboot...Plus it's likely you are trying nVidia or AMD drivers gettin it to work which is a no-no on a laptop....

I tried using ddu to totally uninstall the current graphic driver but that didnt work.
I dont know what else to try to get this computer working

I have this previous problem... you need not read this for this current problem though
http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/bsod-upon-non-safe-mode-booting.212365/

I run on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I want to install a newer update on my ATI graphics video driver. So I downloaded the one that suites mine which is AMD Catalyst Software Suite Omega (14.12) (for Radeon HD 6000 series) and during installation it says "Failed to load detect driver" and stops. Now I don't know what to do.

This is my first time downloading this so there are no programs like this in my "currently installed programs". I tried uninstalling the driver in the Device Manager but it just reinstalls back(when I scan for hardware changes). Thanks for the reply!

I'm getting:

"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."

Google has loads of hits for this but for W7, XP, Vista, etc. nothing for W8...

Trying to install W8x64 on a Dell Precision T5500 (single CPU, 12GB RAM) via USB flash drive.

The CPU is an Intel "confidential" (developer's Xeon 5600 series) could that be it?

The same bootable USB flash drive was able to install W8 on two VM's so far so I know the image is good (or not corrupt).

Is there a way to try and find this elsewhere or point me to the correct driver from an existing install of W8?

Thanks for any help!

I'm quite sure that the CPU is not the problem...

It happened to me once and I had to change the DVD drive to install WDP on a Megaware rig...

Okay so I recently got my hands on a Gateway ESX E-4000 computer that needed a reformat, which I did. After the reformat I found most of my drivers with ease and stilled likewise; however, as I have experienced before, the sound driver was difficult obtain, and is proving more difficult to install.

When I attempt to install the driver it will open the soundmax install shield process, fully go through the install process and then end abruptly with and error of "Driver not found. Please restart the computer and run setup again." Nothing I have done has worked. I was surfing around last night looking for answers, and found instructions referencing me to manually add the drivers with the "Add Hardware" "Have Disk" function or something or other, but to no avail. Any Tips?

Okay, I have an ATI Radeon 8500 on my Windows XP system, and one day, after my dad had used the computer, the 3D video driver stoppeed working. He can't recall doing anything. So it goes. I think "whatever", downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers, and try to install it, only to get the message "INF Error, Video Driver Not Found" and then "Try to set up your adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup". I tried googling for info (apparently it's a common-ish issue), but I never found anything that worked. I tried uninstalling anything ATI and then installing, to no avail. I tried uninstalling the error-listed VGA adapter from the Device Manager and then running install which didn't work. Rebooting after that also didn't work (it popped up with "New hardware found" after the reboot, but it couldn't find the proper drivers).

One suggestion that I found is to download drivers for my "chipset" or mobo. Unfortunately, I don't know what my chipset/mobo brand/model is, and don't know how to find out. If this is the solution, how can I find out? If this isn't the solution, what is?

If this could be solved ASAP, that would be lovely, as I'm going through video game withdrawl here (also scrolling in Firefox is all jerky and some videos are jerky when playing).

Thanks in advance,
Robbie B

Answer:"INF Error", VGA Driver "Missing" Installing ATI Catalyst Drivers

After an unedifying series of adventures I got to http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...?UID=45&kind=1 which has several drivers for my mobo. I first downloaded (obviously) the VGA driver, and tried to run setup. Unfortunately, after preparing the install, an Error message pops up saying "The system cannot detect the device, please confirm that the device is configured properly and restart the setup program." I then tried downloading the AGP upgrade, installed it, but nothing changed. I also downloaded the BIOS update, since it mentioned a VGA upgrade, but I'm uncomfortable with upgrading the BIOS if it's possible that that's not the main issue.

the radeon is not integrated with your motherboard, and the onboard video has probably been disabled in the BIOS. to install the appropriate drivers for an ATI radeon 8500 card you need to download and install the drivers from ati's website. from there you can download the latest version of catalyst and install that.

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

Answer:"Page Failed to Load" error attempting to change my Win7-64bit display

Run the system file check again. Sometimes it requires multiple runs. Reboot after each run (or before the first run if you have not rebooted since the last time you ran the check).Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

I am getting the error "Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your Setup" This happens every time I try to access a Word document. I am using Word 2003 from the Small business pkg.

I searched on their site and there was a download for those who use the Outlook business contact manager also, which I do. I downloaded the file, when to install it and it says it is already there.

I am running Windows 2000, this just started today and my updates are up to date.

Any ideas? I can ignore the warning and work, if I click OK or the X, it shuts down Word.

Thanks!

I have a Yiynova tablet monitor and its been working fine for about a month. I recently tried to download the beta version of a NVIDIA GeForce update (bad idea) and had to reinstall a previous version. After that, things started to go south for my tablet.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the tablet driver, and tried to plug it in a different USB port and it came up with the same message.

Is there a step that I'm missing?

I have dual screen setup, and that's working fine, but the driver that senses the pen just isn't installing, even though I installed the driver program.

I appreciate any ideas on how to fix this.

Now it should be known, I have just received my computer back from Asus repair where I RMAd it because the motherboard had to be replaced because it was surged and no longer allowing it to charge. We also replaced the hard drive disk. The time between it stopped charging and I sent it and got it back repaired was 28 weeks. I never had this problem prior to the motherboard busting, and have had it since getting it back. When it first happened, I thought it was because since I had gotten it back I had not updated my drivers (all my data had been erased), so I updated to the most recent version, and for the most part the problem was fixed, until all of a sudden it started again.

"Failed to access NetBT driver"

Well after looking around for an answer to this same problem I came across your forums which offered a whole bunch of alternatives which didn't work for me (in another closed thread).
Just letting you know the answer for me in the end for this problem was that it was a virus living in:

C:\windows\system32 called mssnger.exe

The virus is set as being hidden so you'll need to enable the viewing of hidden files to see it.

Use a program like hijackthis from www.merijn.org to remove the dodgy reg key. (It'll contain the word mssnger.exe)
And use something like moveonboot to set the file for deletion on next startup if you are having problems deleting it.

Hope this helps anyone who is having the same problem with NetBT.

Greetings all.

I monitor installation of apps with Systrace and Comodo Programs Manager. Using the latter, which includes the ability to uninstall Drivers, I've encountered a disastrous problem:
Specs:
Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop
Intel 2 x 2.0GHz, 8GB DDR2, 320GB 7200 HDD (20+GB free)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, fully patched, updated and maintained
Norton IS 2012, Malwarebytes, Mamutu, Windows Firewall (regularly run Kaspersky, ESET, etc., scanners offline. No malware.)
Have 350+ third-party apps installed for reference, testing and troubleshooting others' computers.

Problem: Using Comodo Programs Manager (CPM) I uninstalled Windows Mobile 2003 Device Driver which required a reboot to complete and, now, I cannot boot the system. The Windows logon screen appears, a message displays, saying CPM's "Force delete jobs completing...". The system freezes there with a black screen, the mouse cursor responds but there is no other activity. Even the LED showing HDD activity ceases.

Attempted solutions:
-- Safe Mode(s), Last Known Good Config, etc., Startup Repair, (System Restore has been disabled.) To make matters worse, I carelessly began to run Windws 7 installation repair as though it was XP. Before I caught the mistake and cancelled, 7 had already begun to copy files. Now I have the SystemRoot as "windows\windows".
-- BCD rebuild successful but still have the "windows\windows".
-- SFC starts but will not complete from Windows RE Comm... Read more

Answer:Failed device-driver uninstall with "forcedelete" loop

"Have 350+ third-party apps installed for reference, testing and troubleshooting others' computers"... You should keep these on a separate hard drive or on an optical disk, but you actually know this already don't you You computer should be set up to easily reloaded as mine is, in case of a "disastrous problem" like you are having now. There's really no excuse

The computer I got is second hand and has always been quite unstable. I usually get bsod if I leave the computer running for 15 minutes without any heavy programs in the background (IRQL not less or equal OR memory management). But recently I've been getting them while I play Skyforge. I'll play for 10 minutes then the cursor becomes all glitchy, in game the sky has all these red lines (obvious because of the graphic cards) then after about 30 seconds the screen goes to black. Then the bsod appears and the computer restarts.

I've already done a clean reinstalled of my NVIDIA driver but the problem still persists.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have an Asus M2A-VM motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ CPU. I recently had to do a complete format and reinstall of Windows XP Pro SP3, AGAIN.:cry While installing the motherboard drivers I got a Realtek install failed error message. I never got this message before when installing the drivers. I install the drivers right after installing Windows so there is nothing getting in the way of the install, that I know of. I have called Asus Tech Support, they are a snotty lot, and they were no help at all. The puzzling part is that I am getting audio from some programs/websites, but most Windows functions, nada. I went to Realtek's website but every time I tried to download the new drivers I got a "Cannot Display This Page" error message, on all 6 download sites! I would appreciate all the help I can get.

I installed and uninstalled fruity loops (cause it wasnt working properly) and everything started going to shit. Im using XP Pro.

When i open internet explorer i get a "failed to load resource DLL" error message. When i click ok the program opens normally. This also happens when i right click on objects on my desktop.

I did a couple of virus scans and came up clean but when i tried to run auto update for norton it said i uninstalled it....which i didn't.

It also wouldn't let me play mp3s with windows media player, when i re-installed it it fixed that problem.

Anyone have any ideas what's causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Did fruit loops have a uninstaller?
.If so did you uninstall this way,
or did you uninstall through add/remove

I get the above error message whenever I right click on a drive, file or folder. The dll is not specified. Google search came up with two other pleas for help regarding this error, neither of which was apparently resolved.
Upon clicking OK, Windows XP Home lets me perform the task ; move, delete, rename, properties or whatever.

Can anyone help me get rid of this annoyance?

Answer:"fAILED TO LOAD RESOURCE DLL" error

whush, first welcome to MG. I had a long reply typed out earlier, but lost it somehow. Trying again. Go to Start--->Run. Type in SFC and then <enter>. You MUST have your Windows Operating system CD loaded for maximum results. SFC (System File Checker) will check out all files required to run Windows and ask for various answers (courses of action from you) to the problems it finds, Read and re-read the courses of action carefully. Answer "ignore" first time round, if you are not sure of the correct answer. Proceed slowly, with a clear head and no sources of interruption. This may clear your problem, but will certainly help in other areas, at least. Bazza

PS I use W98SE, not XP, so there may be slight differences. Baz

I've never heard of a "gray screen of death" either, but that's certainly what it looked like!

I'm working on a clean install of 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1U, and I'm mostly finished installing my apps. The major problem symptom is that my Intel PROSet Ethernet Connection (2) 1218-V can't load it's drivers.

Here's the sequence of events...

(1) Finished installing Nero 2014 Ultimate updates, which required a reboot. NO hardware changes made.

(2) During that reboot, I see what would normally be a BSOD except the screen is definitely NOT blue! It looks more gray than anything (and my monitor is fine). The "GSOD" message is a new one on me as well, something like "SYSTEM_REGISTRATION_ERROR" or the like.

(3) When I boot up, even though I definitely have set it up to create a mini-dump on BSOD, there IS no mini-dump or even a full dump. I assure you it was simply not created!

(4) Now, all of a sudden, my 'Intel Ethernet Connection (2) 1218-V', the device manager reports: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" Note that I've read that Code 31 errors are supposedly "easy" to fix, but I've tried the things these tech support pages suggest (such as uninstalling the drivers and re-installing the latest version, or rolling back the drivers, etc), but that has had NO effect!

One of the things I can't help thinking about is that the following Int... Read more

If me, I would uninstall Nero, reboot, then run system restore to before the Nero installation and hope (fingers crossed) that works. If not, you may need to uninstall the affected drivers, then reboot and again, hope that works.

You may be seeing gray due to your contrast and brightness setting - but really experiencing the black screen of death.

First off, I have Windows XP on an HP dv8000t laptop.

Alright, about an hour ago I left my laptop alone in another room while I ws studying so it wouldn't bother me. Well after I finished studying, I came to check something on my laptop and I noticed it had been turned off. I know no one came and turned it off and I also know it doesn't automatically shut down when it's inactive (it only goes into hibernation) this is the second time it's randomly shut off like this, but this time a problem came up when I tried to restart it.

After I booted it up again it got past the Windows XP loading display and instantly goes into a blue sreen that reads: Video driver failed to initialize (STOP: 0x000000B4).
Every time I try to restart the laptop now it gives me that same message after the XP load screen. I've tried loading it in safe mode (with all the different safe mode settings) and I also tried the enable VGA mode (I saw that as a suggestion on a toppic like this last year here) but all that mode does is lead me to another blue screen that reads: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

I really don't know what to do now. I've tried using the system restore, but when I try the default restore it gives me the "Video driver failed to initialize" blue screen. I don't even want to attempt the full format becasue I just recently finished putting new pictures and videos onto my laptop that I haven't had a chance to back up (I know, stupid me).

Hi all

Regarding "Failed" Driver Update: Intel - net - 10/31/2017 12:00:00 AM - 18.33.11.2

This thread seeks info about (and extending from) a driver update shown* (*Windows Settings > Update & Security > Installed Update History > Driver Updates) as "Failed to install on ‎17/‎01/‎2018 - 0x800705b4". (A timeout error).

This issue was touched-on in another, more general, thread (What to do about Failed Updates? - Windows 10 Forums), and I thank Ix07 yet again for the information there.

Following Ix07's link, I looked at the Microsoft Update Catalogue pages. Having two pages of places to download drivers from threw me a bit, but I noted they essentially had the same significant info in the title links, except for the driver models - either Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, or Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265.

My laptop has (Settings > Network & Internet > WiFi > Hardware Properties) an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, Driver version: 18.33.11.2.

So, now to my questions. Warning! My technology knowledge and skills are - I'm not kidding - really basic. Please assume I know next-to-nothing about the hardware and software I'm asking about here.

Questions:
(1) When I check Device Manager > Network adapters > Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 > Properties > General tab, I see "Location: PCI bus 3, device 0, function 0". Also "Device status: This device is working properl... Read more

Device 0 identifies the 1st device on PCI bus 3. Function 0 identifies the 1st "function" of that device. A full explanation of these terms would fill a book (called the PCI specification).

For your 7260, it is the only device connected to bus 3, so it is device 0. And there is only one function (the network controller), which is function 0.

A single hardware device can have multiple functions. For instance, my nVidia graphics card has two: function 0 is the graphics controller, function 1 is the audio controller. As far as Windows is concerned, these are 2 different "devices" and therefore require 2 different drivers, even though they are on the same physical device.

Hi all, I am trying to install a oem copy of windows 8 64 bit onto my desktop, using a microsoft install dvd. I've installed xp, vista, and windows 7 onto it without any issues whatsoever, however when trying to install windows 8, I keep getting an error in windows setup that states the following:

A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USP or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Since I'm using an actual microsoft disc, and the hash checks out okay, I'm not really sure how to proceed, as it doesn't seem to be the disc image.

I tried searching the forum but the solutions I've come across are vague, and usually relate to USB/VMware installs instead of using a retail DVD.

Does anyone have any solutions on how I can get past this error?
Thanks,

I have tried using over 3 different AMD drivers (15.6, 15.7.1, 15.8) and all of them give me errors such as "Display Driver Stopped Reponding and Recovered" and also BSOD with the error "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (atikmpag.sys)". I would get these errors doing almost anything on my PC such as browsing or opening files however I rarely got them whilst playing games.
I found out today that if I uninstall my AMD driver it will use the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and this basic driver allows me to browse the internet and other things perfectly fine without a single error. Using this would be fine however it means that I get insanely low FPS in games (Under 10FPS) in games that I would usually get 60-100+ FPS. So I really want to find a fix for this issue.
My graphics card is an Sapphire R9 280x by the way
Any help would be welcome.

Answer:Why can I only use "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" as my graphics driver?

This is probably the wrong site to ask.
If you follow this through video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys (Asus R9 270x) [Solved] - Asus - Graphics Cards
Suggests upgrade your motherboard BIOS. And check you are using the latest driver from AMD not the one through Windows Update.
The Microsoft Basic driver is not what you want to use as it doesn't use any of your cards features.

Hello folks. My first post so I'll try to keep it concise. I did a forum search, but found nothing that addresses my particular situation.

I just completed installing Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The installation went fine and and so far I have no graphic card problems. My card is a Radeon HD 4830 and as of now I'm using the default drivers installed during setup. I'd like to install current ATI drivers and the Catalyst Control Center so I have more settings flexibility. The following is the current driver information from Device Manager.

Driver Provider - ATI Technologies
Driver Date - 4/25/2009
Driver version - 8.56.1.16

I have the new ATI driver package downloaded and ready to install. My question is this. Since the drivers now being used are from ATI, should I or do I need to uninstall them prior to a driver update? I checked in the Add/Remove Programs and there are no ATI entries. If I need to uninstall do I remove from within Device Manager?

I don't want to screw up a perfectly working Win 7 install by doing something stupid. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Answer:Remove "generic" Windows 7 x64 graphics driver before installing new?

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using

Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

Hi,

I'm having a really annoying issue where the only working driver I can use is the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". Every single other driver I have tried will all cause me to experience BSOD and the error message "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding". The issue appeared a month ago and it has took me up until yesterday to single it down to be a driver issue and not some kind of hardware fault.

My graphics card is a Sapphire R9 280x and so I use AMD Catalyst Drivers. The issue first came about when updating to 15.7.1 back when I was on Windows 7. I updated to Windows 10 to see if this would resolve my error but it still persisted exactly as it did before. So far I have tried using 15.7, 15.7.1, 15.8 beta and I have even tried just using the driver that Windows will install for my graphics card and all of these cause the errors I mentioned before. Using the basic driver allows me to watch videos and browse the internet fine however games are unplayable as the FPS is between 1-10 when usually it would be 60-120.

I am desperate to find a solution to this as I am just starting university tomorrow and I really miss being able to play games with my friends.

Any suggestions will be welcomed as I am willing to try anything at this point.

So I just re installed windows 7 on my system. I have done this several times before, and I had a package of drivers which I would always use in the same order. In the past I have had no issues with this, it all worked smoothly. This time however, I have been plagued with blue screens and errors.

Among these is an issue with the Intel Graphics drivers. When I attempt to run the Intel Graphics installers, both straight from Intel, and from my motherboard manufacturer, I get an error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". I am using the 64 bit version to go with my 64 bit OEM version of 7 professional, and I am using the HD4000 drivers for my ivybridge 3770k. The latest version I tried and failed with was Driver Revision: 15.31.3.64.3071, the latest on Intel's site. My other specs can be seen in my sig.

I have spent some time Googling for answers, but they generally involve solutions like "Uninstall your current version and re install the 64 bit version for your OS", but I haven't got a version already installed, and I am already trying to install the 64 bit version. Or "You aren't using the right version of the drivers", but I am virtually certain I am using the right version, unless I've forgotten which CPU I have.....which I haven't.

Has anyone else ever experienced and solved this issue, or does anyone know a possible solution?

Thanks,
Tom

Greetings,

I have a friend with a Lenovo Y50 laptop that was upgraded to Windows 10 x64 a few months ago. Unfortunately, the issue was not discovered until recently, so upgrading (*cough*) to Windows 8.1 is no longer an option. There were 0 issues

The Problem:
When using Firefox with many tabs open, the graphics driver crashes and is automatically recovered. This seems to happen most often with Google Docs - although I do not have any concrete evidence.
However, we can get the graphics driver to crash more reliably by playing Minecraft - in which case it will randomly crash anywhere from 30-seconds to 60-minutes. I've noticed Minecraft doesn't seem to crash on the initial login page - only when it starts drawing 3D objects.

Possibly related problem:
In Minecraft, the view would "float" around randomly on its own. When the computer wasn't being touched at all, the view in minecraft would rotate as if a ghost was randomly moving the mouse at a steady rate in different directions. I resolved this by changing the Windows 10 graphics scaling to 100% (it defaulted to 125%) and is a known issue with Java programs and Windows screen scaling on "high resolution" monitors.

Steps taken (in order) to resolve the graphics crash. Note that between each item, we tested Minecraft, with no improvements whatsoever:
- Install all drivers from Lenovo for the laptop and update BIOS to the latest version.
- Install drivers from nvidia (He has a discreet grap... Read more

Hi,

I just thought I need help with this though it doesn't really bother me that much because I don't game too much anyway.

I just wanna list the specs here first before I talk about more details

Specs (ASUS X550ZE Laptop):
AMD A8 7200p
Radeon R5 (AMD A8) + Radeon R5 M230 2GB
4GB DDR3
500GB HDD

The laptop originally came with Windows 8.1 but the first owner had already upgraded it to Windows 10, thus borking the recovery image.

After a few months of usage, I decided to re-install Windows 10 on it since Windows 8 isn't really my taste. Installation ran smoothly, downloaded updates using WU but noticed this problem after restarting.

Device manager detects both the GPU in the processor and the dedicated GPU, but AMD Radeon Settings always tells me that "No AMD graphics driver is installed" everytime I open that program. I downloaded a game to make sure that both GPUs were running fine. The game I used is Counter - Strike: Source and used net_graph as the basis of FPS monitoring, all is well.

I then decided to disable WU and removed the driver that was downloaded by the update, ran DDU in safe mode to remove it then used the driver from the ASUS website. The same error is displaying but this time both GPUs weren't running and the Radeon R5 M230 had Code 43 and I noticed that "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" is being used.

So I went to AMD's website to download the driver, I then experienced the same problem as from the driver that came from the ASUS' ... Read more

Answer:"No AMD graphics driver is installed" even though the GPU is fine

Why do you need a solution when it worked originally, then you sabotaged it.

Don't use DDU. Re-install Windows 10 and get your video drivers either from ASUS or Windows updates, as it was in other words.

I only know the Nvidia competition, in which case has a much smaller Control Panel than what you get on a Desktop system and Desktop type Nvidia Card.

I have installed Win 7 64-Bit and now on easytune I get

COULD NOT LOAD DRIVER!

message when it runs on boot...
I specifically need it to adjust processor fan speed to get rid of the 'whirr' noise it makes, it had a usefull utility that could manage it

anyone experience this on 64-bit?
it happens both from disc install and download

Hope this query is in the right section -tried to use my LDS 1881 England Census CDs last night - but having problems with the Viewer.

I have V4 which up to now has worked perfectly - tried to re-install it
and I keep getting "Failed to extract file "Dll_ini" from binary table"
error message.

BUT no problems on my laptap which has the Viewer installed from the
same CD.

Have had a few problems with computer of late - it was in the workshop
3 weeks ago because of some corrupt Windows files - could that be the
problem?

Grateful for any advice, suggestions as to what to do!

I just resolved an issue I had with the wireless connectivity of my Acer notebook computer and now I am getting strange error messages. When I try (not every instance) to open device manager I will get the message "Failed to open empty document." From there I will occasionally get "Parser" messages that say "Value creation failed at line 843" or "line 422." I read what I could find about these messages and it points to MMC as the cause. How do I go about fixing this annoying problem if anyone knows?

Hi to anyone who is reading this.

My life is has suddently turned to hell as my computer is having those blue screens of death. When i install something/ burn i loose data and Dvd r's and sometimes its just like that.

When ever i do something it happens after 5 mins after logging on as admin.I mean its not exactyly but i am trying to say its not a quick reboot. Also in the BOD it does not specify any file names or anything there is technical info such as 0x245 well...i have not written it down but its like this.

Ive tried to find out which device driver is causing this problem by so many means.I had gone to device manager and found no yellow marks.Ive tried safe mode to see which area is causing problems.I have probably formatted my drive around 9 times to do everything so carefully some how till now no luck... ive goten white hair due tot thinking soo hard about what to do... you cannot imagine i cannot even sleep thinking that soemthing bad is gona happen when i work.

I have the latest service packs all updates and believe me when i say so that ive tried a lot.Microsofts error report says its caused by error report thats all THEY ARE OF NO help at all.I started having these after 4 months of purchase of this CPU.Everything is brand new from sound card to graphic card... welll at that time.

Answer:Device Driver "Error" Please "Help"!

Have you installed the drivers off the cd that came with your motherboard? This board has onboard sound doesn't it? If you are using an add in sound card, pull it out and try the computer. Then pull the network card and try it. Does this board have on board network? I would pull all the pci cards except video and try it. Go to each cards web site and look for the latest driver for it. Reinstall them one at a time and try the computer. Put them in a different slot than the one it came out of to force windows to reinstall the driver. Is your heatsink secure on the cpu? Memory firmly seated in their slots? Video card firmly seated?

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below.  Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings.  I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up.  Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below).  The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).
Note that on boot up I get the warning for disk 0 above whether or not the external drives are connected so the disk controller error may be unrel... Read more

Everytime I try to open Google Earth, Starcraft 2, or run a Nvidia stability test the application freezes, the screen goes black for a few seconds, and the above message pops up along with error code "8". I also somtimes get "display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered", which then crashes and recovers several times until the whole computer crashes and I get blue screened. It always happens with ten seconds of opening one of those programs. I have tried updateing my graphics drivers, clean installing older drivers, editing the registry, turning off Aero, and using system restore. Nothing works and I am out of ideas.

Hi There ,

I just reformatted my Gateway NV54 laptop with windows Vista on it.
My sound is working fine but my microphone is not working at all. I have tried both the inbuilt mic and an external one.
I downloaded the latest audio driver from http://support.gateway.com/product/default.aspx?modelId=2376 which is the conexant 4.98.9.0. (x84)

When I run the driver setup it just says "Driver installation failed: Could not find the device for this driver."
I am confused because as far as I know because my sound is working that means my audio driver working?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Audio Driver not working "Could not find device for this driver" Gateway laptop

Could not find the device for this driver

That error message suggests to me that you're trying to install the wrong driver for that sound device.
Please double-check on the Gateway website, there may be a choice of two or more audio drivers for that model, depending on what hardware was available at the factory when your laptop was assembled.

If there is a choice, you may have downloaded the wrong one or selected a laptop model which is not exactly the same as yours.

I have been getting the BSOD since a few weeks and found out by trial and error that a USB-hub is causing the problem. Whenever I disconnect the hub before I shut off the computer I do not get the blue screen.
Yesterday I also got a BSOD that mentioned driver power state failure. After I had de-installed Ubuntu 10.04 (I wanted to see what people are talking about but did not really like it) that problem did not show up again, although I do not know if that is just coincidence.

I have enclosed the dump files as per your instructions and hope that somebody will be able to help me.
Thank you.

Answer:BSOD with "usbhub.sys" and "driver power state failure"

Welcome!

It does look as if your USB drivers are causing the issue.

Hey guys,

My dad recently bought a HP Windows 8 laptop but can't get used to the new OS. He asked me to install Windows 7 on it for him. I'm currently trying to get the drivers sorted for it and for the Windows drivers such as Chipset and Graphics, i'm getting the error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" which doesn't make sense as the specs of the laptop are:

Win 7 Ultimate X64
6GB Ram
1TB HDD
Intel Core i5-4200U 1.60 GHz
Intel HD GFX

I can't get the drivers of the manufacturers website since they are all of course Windows 8 drivers.

What do i do to fix this??
Thanks

I am attempting to re-install Windows 7 Home Premium, but I get this:

A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. I f you have a driver floppy disk, CD/DVD or USN Drive, please insert it now.

From searching online, people said to download the last ITE IT8211 ATA ATAPI Controller, putting that on a flash drive, and directing the installer to that. I am having a difficult time finding it and making sure its the right version.

Assuming that it is the correct version, the Windows 7 installer isn't recognizing it. I'm not sure what else to do. The only thing else I read was that having RAID 1 could cause problems.

Here is basic information about the computer:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
ASUS M4A89 Series
AMD Athlon II X40 640 Processor
ATI Radeon HP 4290

If someone could give me a link to the most current 64 bit ITE IT8211 ATA ATAPI Controller so I can make sure that isn't the problem, that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!

Hi All,
I am running an XPS 8900 with Windows 10 and I constantly get the same error message - daily???
I have run through the 'Device Performance and Health' troubleshooter and restarted and nothing seems to help.  Is there a fix to this problem or should I just disable the driver?  My computer is accessing the internet wirelessly if this matters.
Thanks for any solutions :-)

Thanks for posting.
Apologies that your computer is not working as expected.
Have you been able to uninstall  and reinstall the wireless drivers?  Have you updated the BIOS?
If that's not working for you, please perform a system's diagnostics by either pressing F12 at startup or by using the Dell Support Assist.  Make a note of any errors encountered, and contact Tech Support.  You can contact Tech Support at 1-800-624-9896  or 1-800-288-4410, or you can initiate a chat session http://dell.to/2v4snVm

Hi.
I have an XPS15 that has been "upgraded" to Windows 10 but I am constantly getting this error. I have attempted to find updated drivers, and I found one from Sept. 2015, but I'm still getting the same problem. It is incredibly frustrating. Help.

Answer:XPS15 error: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

Hi BUTTERNUTS,
What is the exact system model? When did the issue start? Was the issue seen when the system was on Win 8 or only after you upgraded to Win 10?
If the system was working fine earlier while on Win 10, then perform a system restore to restore the system to a point where it was working fine - http://bit.ly/1JEw2ov
For XPS 9530:
Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/1Qpam2M and reinstall the Intel video driver from the same site. If the issue persists, then uninstall the existing video driver and install the driver from Intel site - http://intel.ly/1h4oaGT
For XPS 9550:
Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/1XOjEeg and reinstall the Intel video driver from the same site. If the issue persists, then uninstall the existing video driver and install the driver from Intel site - http://intel.ly/1qEcrCW
If the issue is not resolved, then create a new local admin account and check - http://bit.ly/1JoFhcw
If the issue is seen only on Win 10 and was working fine on Win 8.1, then downgrade to Win8.1 and check - http://bit.ly/1RMaCdK
You could later perform a clean install of Win10 and check - http://bit.ly/1VxGDgb

Hi, I've repeatedly attempted this, but always get

An error occurred during setup. Restart your computer, then run setup again.

This is an all too typical message you can find associated with many Epson products.

I've tried:
Clean boot
Safe mode (install enabled)
Using an Epson removal tool I finally obtained after my 5th chat with Epson.
An Epson fix deleting temp folder and looking for setup.exe that never appeared.
On my 4th chat I was advised to consult Microsoft.
Manually removing all Epson folders and registry entries I can find.
Disabling firewall and AV

The same CD installed ok on my 6 year-old laptop (both run Windows x64).

I've found a couple of other fixes found by someone looking at the log file.
I've run SFC /Scannow - ok

At best, the scanner is recognised as being connected when plugged in, and appears with a yellow trangle under 'Other Devices' in Device Manager

Any ideas welcome - I'd like to use my new scanner
Thanks

Answer:Epson V550 driver installation "An error occurred during setup"

Hi, I've found a solution, albeit a tad obscure. Short story:
1. Install the driver normally, noting it fails, and the device is recognised when plugged in and appears in Device Manager under 'Other devices' with a yellow triangle.
2. There right click the device, update driver and browse to the CD used to install the driver initially, and to the driver folder.
Let the update run.

The scanner should now be installed.

From:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...?page=2&auth=1

which offers another approach too.

There are quite a few reports of Epson driver installations (various devices) failing with this message. Epson chat eventually referred me to Microsoft.... saying the original message was a Windows error.

Hello,
I have a Dell OptiPlex GX620 and I just did a clean install of Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. After I installed the chipset drivers(R132539) I installed the audio drivers(R97809) and sound was working fine.
The audio driver is for Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio and is Version A23.
Next I used Windows Update. After installing Service Pack 3 every time I boot into Windows I am greeted with this error:

Then Windows will detect new hardware and prompt me to install drivers for "Audio Device on High Defintion Audio  Bus" 4 times, each time failing:

I can't seem to find a fix or solution to this problem.
Service Tag: < ADMIN NOTE : Service tag removed per privacy policy >

Answer:ADI 198x "No ADI codec driver is installed" error after upgrading to sp3 on WinXP pro

First, edit your post and remove your personal data - the Service Tag number and Express Sevice Code.  They are forbidden by Dell.
What Video card do you have? Could it possibly be HDMI audio on your Video card?
Uninstall each of the entries for the "Audio Device....." in the Device Manager then restart the PC and see if it returns.

Hello,
I recently encountered a sudden blue screened error message with the following error that was suggested to research: "Power_Driver_State_Failure". I have only seen the error once thus far, but I fear that I may see it again at some point. It forced a restart, and the rebooting process was rather slow.
My operating system is Windows 8.1, and I have a Lenovo Y510p ideapad (nearly 9 months old).
Is this a significant error? Is there any way to prevent it from returning again?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
~Trav.~

I have a batch file to install Local IP printers on remote workstations. I use the following printui.dll command to install the driver .... RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /ia /b 114_110578 /f E:\Xerox\X-GPD_PCL6_32_Driver\x2UNIVX.inf /r 114_10.140.229.43
/m "Xerox Global Print Driver PCL6" /c\\dmo-hp2530 /h "x86"
The command works fine when installing a printer on a remote XP box. But it errors immediately with "Invalid Arguments" when I try to install a printer on a remote Windows 7 box.
If I remove the /c argument and run it manually on a Windows 7 system it installs the drivers locally without issue.
Is there a "new" argument (to go with the /c argument) needed if pushing out to a remote Windows 7 system???
Thanks .......

Answer:"Invalid Arguments" error when installing remote driver via Printui

Are the computers in domain? What is the advanced sharing settings of the Windows 7 printer server?
Have you disabled Password Protected Sharing? If so, please check related policy settings.
1. Open GPedit.msc.
2. Locate to Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options.

3. In the right pane, double-click on “Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts”. By default it is enabled. Please disable it.
How does it work now?
If the issue still occurs, I suggest you download and install Netmon 3.4. From the Network Monitor you can see whether the computer communicate with the remote Windows 7 computer after this command runs.
Microsoft Network Monitor 3.4
Using the New Microsoft Network Monitor (netmon) 3.3 with Network Experts

I downloaded the new nvidia drivers via geforce experience. While it was installing, it had a slide show advertising things like shadowplay or nvidia shield, etc. I clicked on one, and it brought me to internet explorer, which was fine.
However, when I clicked on the left side of the slideshow, I an error came up. This thread (not mine) shows a similar one, except replace nvidia.com and some other details with:

Googletagmanager.com

I clicked the red X, and the internet explorer yellow pop up blocked bar came across the installer.
Is this a legitimate error? Googletagmanager appears to be a legitamate domain, and apparently provides live feeds and such or whatever. Does anyone else have this installing the new nvidia drivers?

Answer:script error for "googletagmanager.com" while installing video driver

sounds like a dodgy bit of coding on Nvidia's part there, it's absolutely nothing to worry about, I think they just use Google tag manager to track how many clicks it has on the ads. You can post a support ticket at Nvidia.com if you want to inform Nvidia about the error, but i'll have a try at clicking the ads in the installer anyway and screenshot the results.

Edit: easily replicated >

it continues fine after clicking yes though.

"A Require CD/DVD Device Driver is missing . If you have a driver floppy disc, CD, DVD, or USB please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you may safely remove it now."

I trying to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64 SP1 onto a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 7559 laptop with an SSD drive, and after I insert my CD media into my External CD drive connected via USB (since the system has no internal CD Drive), I get this after clicking the "Install Windows" button. I have researched the topic fairly and I have found no working solutions to this issue. Here are the methods I have tried already:

1. After researching the error, multiple sites recommended i download the Serial ATA drivers from Dell and browse towards it using the driver finder when the error pops up. No Success.
2. Switching BIOS settings to support CSM, disabling secure boot, boot priority, etc where applicable. No Success.
3. I attempted installing from a different source of media aside from a CD and a different External CD drive. I also tried install from a USB stick. No Success. I believe all the USB ports are USB3 so I can't try from a USB2 port.
4. I've tried adding Intel USB3 and USB3.1 drivers to my Win7 USB setup, using dism, but it still doesn't work.

Is this something that can be fixed or worked around?

I have a Gigabyte BA-B85N Phoenix Wifi rev 1.1 motherboard, so when I try to install the WLAN driver off of Gigabyte's website, I get to the install screen and get "error update.cpp 1185". I have tried letting windows install the driver through device manager and opening the local folder, but to no avail. I get the same error.

I have also tried running it as administrator, redownloading the driver, and all that. I still get the same error. Any ideas? I just need to get wifi working.

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64bit. Thanks!

edit: I am assuming WLAN is the correct driver to install in order to get Wifi working, if I am wrong please correct me.

Hi, I found this forum considering people knew alot about Windows 8 here. Anyways, I am running Windows 8.1, and I got this error while web browsing. The screen went black, then came back and said something about my display driver crashing, but successfully recovering. I have an Nvidia GTX 760. This has happened once before. Friends - On my laptop running 8.1 I need to remedy the often-seen "Display Driver Stopped Responding" display crash. On other systems equipped with AMD GPU components I could use the CCC Presets [Profiles] + Overdrive to workaround the strict Windows timing parameters, increasing the idle clock and core clock targets for the Preset, then invoking it [which requires AMD Overdrive]. On this notebook, no such option is accessible. There is a lot of chatter on the web about this and it is not new to 8.

Anyone know for SURE what a cure is? What I'm gathering is that there should be a Registry entry for a key that deals with Overdrive, but it is missing on the Registry I can see.

Otherwise, I don't know of a certain fix. Microsoft/TechNet board suggests a Registry hack to alter the base windows timing parameters but in the past I have found that not a good solution. It may cut down from 20 errors a week to four or five, but it does not have the surety that the CCC/Overdrive fix is - which targets only the GPU in use

Answer:(Radeon) "Display Driver Stopped Responding" Error

Verify from the manufacturer that you have the correct drivers installed, I hope you did not update your drivers via Windows Update.
In some cases to avoid your problem you could downgrade your driver.

For months, this keeps popping up:
"FOUND NEW HARDWARE - UNKNOWN DEVICE.

Found driver software for your device, but encountered error
while attemtping to install it.

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter

*Insufficient system resources exists to
complete the requested service.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, visit its website and
check the support section for the driver software."
..........
I keep trying to locate it. The attempt is always unsuccessful and I dont know what this adapter is. It keeps trying to find it and I can't stop it, even though it
asks me to stop asking, it never does.

Pls Help! Tips, advice, suggestions to solve this. Thank you.

Answer:HELP! Pop-up: "Found driver Software, but encountered ERROR" keeps popping up

Hi Milly,

6to4 is a technology related to IPv6 and IPv4 communication. If you want to know more about that, please refer to the following document that focuses on it:

Configuring and Deploying IPv6 on Windows Vista
Download details: Configuring and Deploying IPv6 on Windows Vista

In short, Microsoft 6to4 Adapter is used for communication in mixed environment including both IPv4 and IPv6. *Very* few people are using IPv6 at this point. That will no doubt change in the future when all the IPv4 addresses are used up, but right now all the websites you use and all your network apps know about IPv4, not IPv6. So you're not going to have to worry about IPv6 for quite a while yet.

The simplest solution is to go into Device Manager (Start ? Run ? Type devmgmt.msc and click OK).

In Device Manager, click View and select Show hidden devices ? expand Network Adapters ? right-click on 6TO4 adapter and click on disable.

Reboot your computer.

Please report the results, one way or another.

Hello,

I have purchased Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060, installed the latest drivers (version 372.54 at the time) and everything was fine. When version 372.70 came out I didn't bother installing it for quite some time but when had plenty of time, I installed it. On the next day I got "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." error (checked Event Viewer) and the HDMI sound disappeared. I checked for newer drivers and 372.90 was hot on the spot, so I downloaded it and installed. On next day, to my surprise same error happened. I decided to go back to driver version 372.54, since it was working fine, report about issue to NVIDIA and wait for the fix. Yesterday (almost 3 weeks later), with driver version 372.54 same error happened again. I have restarted computer and sound returned. I am planing to install 373.06 today, but if error happens randomly, there is no way telling if it will help or not right away.
Some other info:
Before installing driver, I uninstall it completely using latest version of Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
Each time error happened, same applications were Mozilla Firefox, Steam and HWMonitor. Other applications were different each time.
This never happened with my old video card.
I will try installing latest driver again, but it doesn't have any bug fixes as it seems.

Let me know, if you have any suggestions, what I should try or what may be causing it.

I am using DELL LATITUDE C640 - Windows 2000 Professional - which after crashing and restoration it was showing small windows on display and popping up various error messages.

After cleaning up the Registry (over 300 Errors) things went back to normal with the only exception of windows and icons brought to full screen only by using "Fn+F7" though remaining over dimensional.

I have what appears to be a common problem with Win 7, as I've seen numerous users ask this question here & on other forums, but so far, none of the suggested fixes that I've found have worked for me.

I'm trying to install the full retail version of Win 7 Home Premium on a new SATA hard drive in a new 64-bit PC. I'm doing this because the drive that came with the PC had Win 7 Pro on it, but it was a trial version and I don't have a key or disc for it. However, I have a new copy of Win 7 Home Premium, and since I can't downgrade without hacking the registry (which didn't work either, btw), I decided to get a new HD & start over with Win 7 HP.

However, when I try to start the installation from the disc, after I click "Install Now", I get the error message "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing". I'm stuck there.

The Win 7 disc allows you to remove the installation disc at that point & put whatever CD/DVD you want in the drive to try and find the drivers you need, so I tried the disc that came with the motherboard, which is a FoxComm. I'm able to get into the motherboard's installation disc & select "x64" under "driver" & also under "floppy". When I select those files, I get a quick green moving horizontal band, like it's downloaded the driver. If I select any other folder or drive, I get the error message "No device drivers were found" otherwise, so I believe I'm on the right track.

Hello everyone

I specifically created this user account of mine to share this error that i encountered, what caused, and how i eventually fixed it.

Lately i have noticed that my PC is becoming very sluggish, sometimes "freezing" for around 10-15 seconds in random intervals. So i installed processhacker/ procexplorer to monitor things and after observing things i cant seem to pinpoint a single process that's causing the sluggishness. So i went to the event viewer and found out these error logs

So after some researching , i found out that the likely culprit was an outdated asacpi.sys file, so i downloaded from ASUS the latest version.

When i was trying to install the updated asacpi.sys i encountered a "The extended attributes are inconsistent error" , i tried to install it many times but i always got the same error, i ran SPECCY just to peek at my PC's details but it always crashed, so i ran it in debug mode and found out that it always crashes when the "ANALYZE PERIPHERALS DATA" is checked.

So i ran CCCleaner instead and rebooted and encountered a "DISK ERROR OCCURRED" when trying to boot, when i tried running the repair disk it always says something about an I/O error, you may have removed a USB/ hardware device when it is currently being read upon, yaddi-yadda. Then i remembered a week ago that i installed my old PC's PATA HDD to copy my old files into a new SATA HDD that i bought, BUT i already removed it! Then... Read more

Greetings,
I am trying to help find information for an associate who is having problems getting Citrix to function properly on several computers running Windows 7 and Windows XP. He installed the Citrix Receiver middleware but when they try to launch the programs that run on Citrix they get the error 1056 "Virtual Driver Not Found". He has tried uninstalling and reinstalling Citrix on the affected computers but that does not fix the problem.
Thanks very much for any advice you can provide.

Hi there,

I am new here and I am not computer guru. So I ran the test earlier today , and everything was fine. Max temperature after 11 minutes running the test was as far as I can remember not more than 85 it stayed stable with only 1 degree difference from time to time till I stopped the test. I am with Palit Gtx570 Sonic Platinium video card. So I didn't take a screen because I thought everything was fine. Seven hours later I ran the test again and then suddenly here is what happened :

Actually I bought my computer recently. I am using Win7 64bit. I had that problem and here is what I have done:

1.Reinstalling drivers from different sources - Palit, Nvidia and disc drivers. Tried older versions.
2. Reinstalling Windows - putting first the drivers of the video and then the drivers of other devices with the purpose to try to detect if there is a driver conflict.
3. Talked with the distributor which sold me that video card and they changed it with a brand new one. The same model.
The first video card had that TDR problem quite often. This one not that often. The first one was able to force the TDR crash in two ways -no need of those test. I installed a game called - World of Warcraft and I tested it there was where i experienced TDRs for first time. After that I found out that I can force them to happen also when I am testing the " Windows experience index" - usually happens on the 3D Geometry and some other 3D tests.
Somewhere in the internet I read th... Read more

Being as most people who write threads about their problems tend to leave out information which could be useful for those who are trying to help out, I'll try to write a post that includes what you need and then some instead of too little..

Hardware Specs

ASUS CUV 4X-E, Celeron/PIII, ATX (Motherboard)
Intel Pentium III 1 GHz Coppermine (CPU)
Radeon 9600SE (Graphics Card) - Not sure of the "mark" of this one..PowerColor or ASUS

Background Story
Well, about 3 months ago, I exchanged my old and outdated GeForce 2 GTS Graphics Card with the new and better (I thought) Radeon. Being the CS-gamer I was back then, I did this in hope of increasing my FPS-count (not a lot, just a little), but was fairly disappointed when I experienced an all-time record low FPS of 5-10 (no matter what was going on).. Also, being lazy, I decided to take this as a chance to lay off the CS-scene for some time, perhaps focusing on some other aspects of gaming and general usage of the computer.. It was just now, today, that I got the craving for fragging again?

After doing some reading, I realized that I was not the only one with problems regarding Counter-Strike 1.6, ATI and FPS. After some more reading, I decided to downgrade to Catalyst 3.6. Since I'm not the most experienced person when it comes to messing around with drivers, hardware-settings, software-this and that, I read around some more and went with the information given in this thread. I followed the advice writ... Read more

One hint: Check whether IT IS Radeon MOBILITY!

I just met the same problem and tried many ways and can not solve it.
Later when I happened to check the product specification from its vendor page, I found out that it is a Mobility Radeon display card.
There are two ways to get mobility radeon to work on PC:
1. download official mobility radeon driver, eg, 4.12
2. get the latest ati catalyst, and use a very cute little tool to make it work for mobility radeon. The tool's name is ati dhmod. you can search google for download or contact [email protected]

I just dropped a Foxconn G31MXP-K into a dell that had a fried motherboard. I got Vista installed back on it, and started the restoring process. I got all the drivers installed on the machine except the very evil audio driver. After fighting with the horrid error code "hd audio driver failure!! [Error Code: 0xc0000005]," I have finally got the answer, and it's soo easy. I searched everywhere, and there are a lot of fixes for XP, but this is for VISTA. simply go to the control panel, into the programs and features, and here's the hard part... Delete the realtek audio software. Don't flip out on me yet, odly enough, removing it leaves the control software on the computer and does fix the audio.
Here's the breakdown of why, or atleast the best I can figure... The software package does infact install the driver, but it also installs some of the software not intended for Vista 32b edition. So, as it gets to the end of the install, it throws the great error. Now some of you might have noticed the 0xC0000005 code that is sometimes associated with the evil BSoD. Well, in fact it is the same, but it's not really a hardware issue. So by uninstalling the software through the programs and features, you effectively delete the bad parts of the software that are screwing up the driver install on Vista. So it's rather easy, but I hope to save someone else a little trouble.

Best of luck.
