My laptop bluetooth is working properly with other devices like mobile phones. Could you please help me in solving this problem.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a Insignia bluetooth wireless headphones that I want to use to listen to my Viso VO37L flat screen TV. So I put a Soundblaster Audigy soundcard in my spare computer and connected the TV headphone jack to the input line of the soundcard. I can now have the TV audio playing through the computers speakers. The problem is that no matter what I try I can't get the signal to the headphones. I have WIDCOMM bluetooth 5.1.0.3900 software installed on the computer and it works fine ,I can hear all Window XP sounds as well as the media player and other software audio. I tried using a few recording software programs thinking I could use the monitoring feature to hear the in-line input, but even though I could record the input and hear the replay I couldn't hear the monitor. This whole Idea seemed so simply but not I am thinking that "you can't get there from here". If anyone knows what I am missing I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Answer:Bluetooth Wireless Headphone and TV audio

My wireless connection on my desktop keeps connecting and disconnecting over and over again and if I us a LAN it says little or no connectivity. My laptop sitting right next to my desktop has 0 problems connecting to the same router.

Router is a linksys WRT55 A+G

OS is windows xp home edition service pack 3.

Wireless settings are exactly the same as the laptop

Each computer has a seperate IP assigned

Firmware for router is updated

Firewall is disabled

Problem started overnight and was working fine the night before. After running CCleaner and spybot search and destroy and updating my video card the problem happened.

Ran Fix My Registry

uninstalled video card, replaced it with old video card, same problem with old video card

Something is preventing my computer from staying connected to the internet, not sure if some hardware got fried over night or when running my cleaning programs I clicked something by accident.

I've read pages and pages of forums and most of the people are having problems with the router, but I don't think it's the router since my laptop is working perfect.

I would appreciate any help.

Hello. Tearing hair out here. Been searching threads here and all over google. I have DSL thru Century Link. Router is Zyxel pk5001z. 2 laptops being used. ( well, they were until my MB fried out.) My laptop has Win 7, my girlfriends has Vista.- Dell inspiron 1525. Only had the service for about 2 mo's. My laptop was working fine wirelessly. Hers drops constantly.Currently hers is the only one being used.Sometimes shows the red x, other times just local only.- Drops and reconnects within seconds. I have set channel to 6 and 11. disabled IPC 6 in laptop adapter, uninstalled/reinstalled wireless card in device manager, checked for newer driver, checked for firmware upgrade in modem, set to g/n only, ( no option for G only) connection strenth is full. No wirless phones, no close neighbors, etc. I have read posts indicating the routers are junk, other posts saying Vista has issues with certian routers, but nothing that pinpoints my exact problem. Also, just re-loaded Vista the other day. Had this problem before and after reload. Oh and the laptop works fine hardwired. Please help.

Having had Samsung 42"tv for 8 years and recently purchased Aves wireless External speaker and wireless headphones, which operated beautifully from the headphone socket - the tv up and died. I purchase 43" Samsung which has all the trimmings - HD/PIP etc - but no headphone socket. Do I bin the speaker and headphones or is there a way round?
Cqms

Answer:Samsung TV - No headphone socket.

After 30 minuets of reading and searching my TV I eventually found mine.
Look at the back of your TV, if you find small protruding squares with a small hole one will be the headphone socket maybe the one at the top.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to buy a new "sports headphone" to be used at the gym. Unfortunately, where I am, I only either have bluetooth 2.0 + NFC or Bluetooth 4.0 (only 1 or 2 options) without NFC.

I am really keen on NFC, as I have a S4 and really keen to try NFC, would really appreciate any feedback on this? Is BT2.0 with NFC a better option in terms of easy of use or a simple BT3.0 or BT4.0 without NFC be a safer bet?

I am not too sure how stable the NFC technology now is, so thats my only concern.

Would appreciate some feedback on this.

Thanks

Answer:NFC or bluetooth sports headphone?

Since NFC only works up to a few inches, it must be used just for the setup. The Bluetooth would then be used as the link between the headphones and phone.

I have a Dell Latitude E6410 that finds and apparently "connects" to my Rocketfish RF-MAB2 bluetooth headphones. However, the headphones never show up as a device in the sound/volume settings, so the computer plays sound from the speakers rather than the headphones. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi there,
I am using two different bluetooth headsets to connect to my computer. They
pair and connect just fine and even work with Skype. The problem is Vista
(business) disconnects the headset about every 30-60 seconds. Does anyone
have any ideas of how to keep the connection stable?
thanks!

Answer:Bluetooth Headphone disconnects

Are you using vendor's bluetooth drivers? If so, remove it, reboot and let your system install the Microsoft bluetooth stack. You may have to uninstall your hardware manually too (from device manager)

I can't use my bluetooth headphone and wired earpiece simultaneously. whenever I connect my bluetooth headphone to my laptop, the wired earpiece stops working.I'm having Dell XPS L501X with Realtek High Definition Audio. Is there any way to make them work simultaneously?

Answer:Can't use bluetooth headphone with earpiece!!

I don't think there is because usually when you plug in a headset or turn on a bluetooth headset it disables the speakers, so I suspect that bluetooth essentially does the same to your wired headset - probably nothing that can be done about it unless you happen to find a setting in the realtek control panel that disables the 'feature'."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Hello!
Does WinPhone have a battery indicator for bluetooth headsets?
Thanks!

Answer:Bluetooth battery level, does Windows Phone have one?

Normally, a battery indicator for a particular Bluetooth Headset is published by that manufacturer of the headset hardware for it to be compatible. Not all Bluetooth headsets support this feature, and the ones that do don't conform to a specific standard at this time.
Some of the Bluetooth manufacturers have apps like this for Android or iOS, but not for Windows Phone that I am aware of.
There is nothing in the Windows Store that I can find to accommodate this.

In most cases (all I've seen) you can only have one default playback device, e.g. PC speaker (and wired headphones) or another device such as your bluetooth or HDMI audio.

Hello, I got a JBL Everest Elite 700 bluetooth headphone and I would like to pair (connect) it with my HP Pavilion G6. I also have the latest updates installed. 1. Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a deviceNo device can be found! (I am sure the headphone is discoverable and it works perfectly with other laptops and my mobile phone) 2. In "Device Manager", there is no "Bluetooth" icon. 3. In Computer Management > Services, "Bluetooth Support Service" is running and is set to Automatic. 4. In Computer Management > Services, "Bluetooth Handsfree Service" is running and is set to Automatic.   This is driving me crazy. I don't know what else to do.

Hi, I am having problems getting a Bluetooth headset to operate. Having connected and paired (I believe), the device shows in Devices and Printers. In Device Manager, there are three listings for it (Aukey model EP-B4). Each listing says there are no drivers installed. Have tried updating each and all but after an age for Windows searching for drivers I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to close it.
I have contacted the manufacturer many times but so far no results - they repeatedly requested from where I bought it and item number.
I am using Win7 SP1 with all updates current.

The headset works well with my mobile phone and tablet (Android 5.1).

Any help much apprecitated.

I own a macbook pro and runs windows 7 by bootcamp. The headphone is JBL e40bt.
I tried to use my bluetooth headphone it had always failed and it said there was no driver for "bluetooth peripheral device."
I then downloaded the ASUS driver thing from here: Can't find drivers for bluetooth headset - Windows 7 Help Forums
And the problem was solved.

But now when I connect my headphone, it is only good immediately after I connect it. As long as I play something continuously the headphone won't switch off by itself and nothing's wrong. But if there's no audio input from the computer to the headphone for like a minute and then I start playing music, the audio is skipped. I have to reconnect the device for it to return normal.

Please help me. It is quite annoying. It's okay if I am playing games and stuff but I when I'm playing music I can't let it stop.

Hi.I've been lurking for a bit and have had most of my questions answered and issues solved bythis fine community. Thank you!My problem is that I can add my bt headphones (I've tried two different sets) in the "add device"option, but once I shut the bt device (headphones in my case) off and then turn them back onagain the sound continues to come from the tablet or stereo speakers (which ever I'm using atthe time) and the sound won't switch to the bt headphones automatically. I must manually go theSound settings in Control Panel options and select the bt headphone to use them again. As ofright now I've got a shortcut to the Sound options on my desktop. Now this isn't a deal breaker forme, but there's got to be an easier way! LOLS!Any suggestions? Thanks! And for the record I have no wifi issues and I've upgraded to 8 gigs of ram so I'm keeping this!!!

I haven't tried using a Bluetooth headset with Windows, but check: 1.  Right-click on the sound tray icon, select Playback devices.  Does it show a 2nd bluetooth headset device in addition to Speakers?  If so, left-click on it and try the "Set Default" dropown menu on the bottom to make it the Default device (or some other option that works better). 2.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933144 3.  http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/making-bluetooth-headset-default-audio-device/87178.html

Sometimes the volume control stops working for my Bluetooth audio receiver (which identifies as a Roxa Plus). I have tried switching to another audio device and then switching back, but this doesn't help. Disconnecting the bluetooth device and reconnecting it gets the volume working properly, but this is annoying if I am in the middle of listening to music. By disconnecting do you mean uninstalling?......If not try uninstall then reinstall.

I didn't know where to put this, or what kind of problem this is.
I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones and an ASUS bluetooth USB adapter.
When I turn on the Bluetooth headset, I have to manually go into the Sound settings and change the "Default" to the Asus Adapter.
Though ZId love to know if there is a fix to this, it's easy enough to live with. The thing I cant stand though, is when I do switch any default device in the Sound settings, I also have to close all programs that were open when making the switch. Otherwise, the programs (like iTunes and Media Player Classic) will contiue coming out of the computer speakers, or whatever the previous default was. Ive only had the ASUS Bluetooth adapter, and havent been able to try another adapter, but I have used different bluetooth Headsets/Headphones, and they all react the same. The program also exhibited on Windows 7, so I doubt its OS specific.
Is there any way to fix this, because this is absolutely annoying.

Answer:Problem: Have to restart programs when connecting bluetooth Headphone.

Did you ever find an answer? I just found this post and I'm having the exact issue. And agreed; very annoying.

Edit: Just found this page on reddit. It works! Swich the audio playback in iTunes to Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio.

I used to be able to listen to music through a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones on my Wins 7 laptop. However, I am no unable to do so. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the bluetooth drivers with no success, removed and added the device. I followed a number of the steps in this thread : Bluetooth headset pairs but won't connect, not avail as playback devic , specifically the post from 11th Dec 2014 . Computer has been restarted multiple times.

I've attached an image of what I see. I can connect the headphones to the laptop, but can't listen to music. I also cannot set the headphones to default playback.

Atm, I'm listening through an aux cable, but any additional trouble shooting steps would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The sound quality on paired headphones is terrible. There is a background, high pitched whine being transmitted that makes it unbearable to listen.
A wired pair of headphone works fine. The headphones work fine when paired with my Note 4 & Sony TV. A second pair of bluetooth headphones exhibits exactly the same problem, so it is 100% definitely the laptop that is the problem.
Does anybody know how the fix this please?

Edit: Just found this page on reddit. It works! Swich the audio playback in iTunes to Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio.

Hi Satellite users,

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

hi huys,
is there any solution for my concern.
my iball pulse BT4 bluetooth headphone is not working with dell vostro 1540

Answer:iball pulse bt4 bluetooth headphone not working with my vostro 1540

Have you tested other BT (bluetooth) devices on the Vostro 1540? What BT device is installed in the Vostro 1540? What operating system are you running? You should check with iball- Chat for support and setup of their product. Assuming you read through its User Manual for troubleshooting steps.

If you connect any Bluetooth Headset or Devices using Audio + Hands-Free Profile with Windows 10 build 10049 Bluetooth Stack, it uses only Audio and doesn't allow Hands-Free use.
I have tested 2 different devices, Windows registers both profiles, but never allows Hands-Free, so it isn't possible to use cortana, teamspeak or any Voip-Application by now.
With different Bluetooth Stacks, I tested Toshiba's, it works, but other issues occur.
Previously used devices may not connect at all, because they seem to be already registered to Toshibas Stack, but not working at all. Any suggestions or ideas?

X220 tablet (about 2.5 yrs old, out of warranty) was working completely fine last night; this morning, no sound is coming from the laptop, either through speakers or through headphones (audio jack).  I am, however, able to get sound through a bluetooth-connected speaker. I had hoped this was a software issue.  Tried uninstalling/installing all sound devices, updating BIOS, updating drivers, system restore to previous date, rebooting a million times, etc.  No joy. When I run the sound troubleshooter, it says that no speaker, headset, or headphone appears to be plugged in.  The sound icon has a little red circle/white X next to it.  When I try to plug in headphones, nothing happens -- does not seem to detect the event.  When I press the mute and volume buttons on the tablet, no response. Also, under Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers, it lists only "Bluetooth Hands-free Audio" and "Intel Display Audio".  I don't think either of these is the normal X220 audio driver, is it?  What else should be there?  I downloaded the Conexant Audio Software from Lenovo's site (this is what came up when I searched for audio drivers for the X220 tablet), and tried to install it, but halfway through, it said the install failed because it couldn't locate the device for the driver. This sounds like it's a hardware problem -- any way to verify?  Also, which piece of hardware exactly?  Is it the sound card ... Answer:X220 tablet - sound suddenly stopped working from speakers and headphone (but not bluetooth)

If it doesn't appear in the device manager, it sounds to me like the sound chip (codec) or some support chip has died. I'm not sure how exact you want the answer to be. I think on that model, the codec is a Conexant 20672. If I am correct, the normal fix is to replace the motherboard. Many x220 machines are still under warranty. If yours is, now would be a good time to use it. You can check here:http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-service/warranty-status/default.page?

By the way this mp3 player had a preexisting problem-I dropped it in water-but I fixed it thru this thread: dropped yp-t9 in water

I use fn+F2 to enter system settings and manually set Bluetooth on. I have managed to 'Find' the speaker, but was never asked for a password? now I have in my "Sound" panel (System Tray>Right Click the speaker Icon>PLayback devices) under ther the "playback" tab, a bluetooth headphones, a bluetooth headset, and a seakers, and only the speakers have a "Green Tick" next to them, the others have a "red down arrow" and I've no idea what this means? Maybe this is the start of my quest to find the solution? but until I know what that red arrow means I;m stuck. pleas help.!!!

This sounds more like a Bluetooth or some other PC software issue and not an "audio" problem. The networking section of the forum may be a better place to post (or a starting point).

Hi, I have a Samsung NP700Z5B-S01UB running Windows 7 64-bit. It's been a great computer and I've had no issues that I couldn't manage, but for the past few months it has been having an issue I just can't seem to get fix. The computer comes with Bluetooth built in and the Bluetooth had worked without issue for 2 years or so. When about six months ago it decided to stop working. I tried to update the drivers, but windows does not even recognize that the hardware is there. I thought it was possible that the hardware may have failed, but after doing a system rollback the Bluetooth started working. It worked for a few months, but has started up again. I removed a few windows update that I found others were having issues with which did not help. It seems to be related to windows updates given that every time it stops working if I roll the system back to before the most recent update the Bluetooth usually comes back, but this time it brought the Bluetooth options back but still doesn't see the hardware at all. I've checked all the services and all of the necessary services are running, but I'm coming up empty. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Hi everyone :)
I started looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones to wear while cycling to replace my Monster Purity in-ear headphones (WH-920) with my Lumia 830.
I came across these wireless headphones by Samsung; Level U (http://www.samsung.com/us/audio/headphones/in-ear/samsung-level-u-wireless-headphones-black-sapphire-eo-bg920bbebus/) and Level U Pro (http://www.samsung.com/us/audio/headphones/in-ear/level-u-pro-wireless-headphones-bronze-eo-bn920cfegus/).
I could go for a Level U Pro, but I noticed this line:
"..UHQA is compatible with select Samsung Galaxy devices.."
Does that mean that this feature is exclusive to the Galaxy devices?
Am I going to be able to benefit from that (or any other features like aptX) with my Lumia 830 device?
I tried going through its technical specs and got overwhelmed with compression standards, bit rates and all that Bluetooth protocols :/
Does anyone know anything about this? I've never used Bluetooth headphones for music and I'm not sure how much quality I can expect from that. I know that it won't compare to a decent wired connection but is it going to feel like a cheap set of earphones that *hurt* your brain?

My keyboard won't stay connected to the Bluetooth. Windows disabled the Bluetooth and gave this messge: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

I work inside of a fairly large building with a conference center (holds about 300 people). We are looking to put in a more robust wireless networking setup in. We would like to host events where the majority of the users bring in their own laptops, with our current users using their laptops. Currently we are running 3 Apple Airport Extremes over there now, and they do well for what we are doing now but we would like something that could provide us some reporting, and more enterprise style control. Also something that would have the power to have more then 10 or 15 users max would be nice. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi,
These are the details::
Connecting The Bluetooth of an Android mobile with the Bluetooth of HP laptop didn't succeed
I have followed these steps to pair the the Bluetooth of my HP laptop, and the other Android Bluetooth.
First: I have clicked on 'add' a device'. Second, the Bluetooth of the Android mobile got shown. Then, I have connected to it. After that, 'Comparing pairing Codes' showed to me. (Screen shot below)
Next: Each Bluetooth's user of us accepted that confirmation. Finally: The pair was established well. (Screen shot below):

Although The Android Bluetooth was paired with my My HP laptop Bluetooth successfully, the Android Bluetooth is grayed out on my My laptop Bluetooth list as shown in this screen shot below:

Whenever I have clicked on the Android Bluetooth listed in my the Bluetooth devices, I received no Bluetooth control showed me(NO way to send files since Android Bluetooth is grayed out) Also, whenever the User who has the android mobile phone tries to send file into my laptop Bluetooth paired with his Android Bluetooth, he received an error not sending file.

Although the the Android Bluetooth is enabled to be detected by other Bluetooth devices. If there were a problem with my Laptop Bluetooth, then I would be facing the same problem with connecting(pairing) my Laptop Bluetooth with the Nokia Bluetooth.

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Thanking you in advance .

Answer:Cannot connect bluetooth from samsung s2 to dell inspiron 1750

Hi, try to update the bluetooth drivers. That might help.

OR

1. Open Control Panel by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel search box, type Bluetooth, and then click Change Bluetooth settings.
3. In the Bluetooth Settings dialog box, click the Options tab and do the following:
To make your computer discoverable to Bluetooth enabled devices, select the check box for Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer.
When a Bluetooth enabled computer is in discovery mode, it broadcasts a wireless signal that allows it to be detected by other computers or devices. This is sometimes called pairing mode. If you check this box, your computer will still be able to detect Bluetooth enabled devices that are in discovery mode, but they will not be able to detect your computer.
a) To allow you to add Bluetooth enabled devices to your computer, select the check box for “Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer”.
b) To be notified when a Bluetooth enabled device is trying to connect to your computer, select the check box for “Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect”.

Hi all,

A few days ago, bluetooth devices stopped being recognised on my Windows 7 Samsung NP300V5A-A05UK laptop. There have been no windows updates since then, and I have tried numerous suggestions I have found online without any success. Bluetooth is not showing in Control Panel or Device Manager. If I use msconfig it says bluetooth is running. I have reinstalled drivers. I have used the 'Services' option to ensure that the Bluetooth Support Service is running. There is no bluetooth icon showing in the 'notification area' and if I click customize, Windows Host Process Rundll32 (bluetooth) is showing but says 'this notification icon is not currently active'.

I use bluetooth to connect my hifi to my laptop - normally when I go into the 'Sound Playback' menu it lists my laptop speakers and also lists 'bluetooth headphones' which is my hifi. But this does not show any more.

**Further info - looking in Device Manager it lists Bluetooth Auxilliary (with Bluetooth Server nested below that) and also lists Bluetooth Radio with 'Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth and 3.0 and high speed adapter' and 'Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator' nested below. All of these are enabled, and when I go to properties, say they are working properly. Also, I thought that it was an Atheros Bluetooth Client that my laptop used - if I go to 'add/remove programs' then I can see the 'Atheros Client Installation Program' is there.

After a few days of frustration, any advice gratefull... Read more

Hey guys! I think me and my Linksys BEFW11S4 V2 are due to part ways. Seems that the router doesn't want to play nice with BitTorrent and the wireless connection is unstable. I read about the V4 and the MTU settings, but am not sure if makking the changes will help at all. A move to the G standard wouldn't hurt either.

After reading various forums, it seems that linksys routers blow chunks. I need a router that will not give me any grief since I plan on offering wireless internet to my neighbors for a fee. Thus frequent downtime or hickups are unaceptable. I don't have a fortune to blow, so highend gear like Cisco is out of question.

I've been considering going for either the Netgear WGR614 or Netgear http://www.netgear.com/products/details/WGT624.php. I've also been very interested in the Buffalo Technology WBR2-G54S router. I'm leaning towards the WGT624, but would like to hear some opinions. Thanks in advance

Answer:best wireless router (consumer level)

I know you probably dont want to hear this, but the Linksys WRT54G is pretty kick-ass. Highly rated, built on Open Source (linux kernel), with rd party firmware avaliable.

I used two along with directional antenna's to bridge the main building and the warehouse at work. I also use one at home, and put them in for some clients on the side.

Question: Help connectin

I have now, periodically, been trying to connect to the internet on our new router (which was replaced while I was visiting my new grandsons), I was told what the net work key should've been, and have tried different spellings, variations, etc. I was thinking that since I have tried to connect so many times that the issue is my laptop has been locked out (like if you try to log onto yahoo too many times). Is this possible, if so how is this problem fixed? I would really love to stop using my roommates computer and boyfriends connection to get online.

Answer:Help connectin

If you have to rely on "what the net work key should've been" you need to get them to tell you exactly what it is. Different spellings, variations, etc., are not going to work. Remove all wireless profiles and try again with the correct key.

What type of encryption, and does your adapter support it?

So, just this morning I found a pair of Sylvania wireless headphones at Half Price Books. I unplugged my old speakers and replaced them with the new one, put batteries in everything, but when I tried to get it to connect to my computer sound, the only things it would connect to were some radio stations and static. So, for my first question, does anyone know what I should do for those?

Anyway, after I decided that they weren't going to work, I decided to switch back to my old speaker and earbud combo. So I plugged the speakers into the computer and the power strip. I tested out the sound with a the Nyan Cat video on Youtube (because I always use that one for trying out headphones), and I could hear like I usually do, but now there's a very loud buzzing sound in both of my headphones, and there was only very light static before. Was I supposed to do anything different when connecting them? They're Inland speakers.

I also had Realtek Audio manager pop up when I connected them, and I don't really know what I should do with that.

Help?

Good afternoon,
A couple of weeks ago I asked if wireless headphones were worth having. But our tv does not support this sort of thing. So I went into Maplin’s and spoke to a bloke there and he said he wasn’t sure but they had a unit which on one side has a scart socket and vision and audio sockets on the other.
So what I thought of doing was to get one of these units – there are two, one in and one out – and then get a small(ish) length of cable which would have the two audio sockets at one end and then merge into one at the other, and I could just connect my ‘ordinary’ headphones into this socket. If there was a volume controller in there somewhere so much the better. The bloke at Maplin’s could only get to this by having a male/female connector on the end of the two-into-one because it had a male end connector. I asked him if it would work, but he didn’t know and didn’t suggest a ‘try-and-return’ policy, so I left it.
So my question is this: does anyone a) know if such an arrangement would even work and b) apart from Maplin’s is there anywhere else anyone could suggest I go to try and get these – preferably one combined unit! – with a guarantee they would work?
Many thanks in anticipation, and a very Happy New Year to everyone.

Lately I have discovered that the surround sound system I am using late at night can upset the neighbors

Also it would just be handy if I could own a wireless headphone set (possibly with a mic), I wondered if it were possible for a headset which plugged into the speaker slot and use the mic as an 360 mic or would the mic on the headset not work? may be confusing some people here...

Anyways I am more concerned about which headphones to buy, Im not too bothered about a mic unless it works with the xbox 360, I would prefer headphones with surround sound well alike surround sound (they say the headphones have surround sound but I cant imagine it being to good compared to speaker surround sound).

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/116420

the link above is a "UK exclusive" pair which are made by Philips, they look and after reading about them well amazing, and meet my requirements. Sennheiser I have read are a good brand, if some suggestions of good WIRELESS headphones were to be posted in I would appreciate it so much.
My budget is a maximum of 120, don't want to spend too much, 70 - 100 would be a fairly good price range for me. Thats around a max budget of $260/270 and a good range of $160 - $220

Thanks again!,

I've been looking into getting one, the problem is, I've heard people complaining about pretty much every single brand that I've been looking into, so I figured I'd make this thread and ask for your guy's votes and experiences into which one you'd recommend. I don't actually need the "router" part of it, just want it to be able to serve a wireless signal out, and for it to be a powerful wireless signal at that.

Answer:So what do you guys think is the best consumer-level wireless router/AP?

I would look at linksys 54g Access point. (excuse me, CISCO 54g ) there is a hacked firmware available that lets you do lots of things that are not readily available in other brands. syslog daemon, PPTP server, DHCPd, they are adding new things all the time.SveaSoft firmware

I'm in the position of having to either use an existing wireless router or buy a new one. I've moved into a new house and have my computer in the basement with the wireless router on the main (ground) level. The vertical distance is thus one level; the horizontal is perhaps 25-30 feet. I suspect there is a fair amount of wiring and piping between the router and the PC.

What would be the best router for this situation? I've had my eye on the Linksys WRT54G (I think that's it; the Linux-based one). Would that be ideal in this case?

Thanks for the feedback!

Answer:Best wireless router for multi-level homes

I share wireless to 5 other nearby appartments through multilayers of cinderblock with this router. : ) I got it because it came with a PC card for my laptop and has a $35 rebate which makes it only $70 after shipping for a 108Mbps wireless connection. Works great so far and the port triggering setting work great for Warcraft 3 servers.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse with Mouse Driver Version 5.20.413.0.  Everytime I boot up in Windows XP Home, I get the following message: "The wireless mouse battery level is low. Replace the batteries soon so the wireless mouse will continue to function properly."  I have replace the batteries several times with quality batteries, but the message continues to appear.  Now I just click OK, and the mouse functions with no problems.  I also have the matching Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.0A.  I do not get this message for the keyboard.  The Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 1.0A is connected directly to the PC via the USB port.  Any suggestions as to how to correct this erroneous message?Computer is a PIII 1.2 with 512MB, and 80G (64.5G free) & 40G HD (4.8G free).  The OS is on the 80G HD.  Software programs include Norton AntiVirus 2005 & Zone Alarm Pro 6.0.667.000.

Answer:Wireless Mouse Battery Level Problem

This seems to be a similar kind of USB problem as your other post. Do you have another USB mouse to test with? Can you uninstall this device in device manager and then restart the machine and let it pick it ub again? Are you using separate USB ports for each item, or some sort of hub?

last night charter cable's internet went down here, I can connect to the internet directly from my modem, but when try to use my wireless modem it doesn't work.

I cannot find any tech support for level one products

it's not just my computer that won't connect either, both my roommate and I are having the problem, therefore it's not the internet and it's not the computers only leaving the router to be the problem.

What do I do?

Answer:connected to level one wireless router but not internet

Did you power cycle the modem when switching from computer to router?

Brand and model of modem and router?

For one of the PCs connected first to the router and then to the modem ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
