Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 700-141SK Lenovo Support Cente...

Question: Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 700-141SK Lenovo Support Cente...

New Yoga 700-141SK: Ran the Lenovo Support Center Hardware Scan and the Video Card Mathematical Operations Test has failed rendering the Report: WVC007002-UL7BPL. Is there a tried and proven solution out there? I have had a look at the solutions on the forum and am not satisfied that the solutions offered prove that the problem has been resolved. It is reasonable to expect Lenovo to make available a solution as a matter of course instead of end-users of "afflicted" Lenovo devices having to request/search for a solution(s).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there, Wistert -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

A service tip has been released concerning the WVC007002 Mathematical Operations Test error message. This is a false negative and can be ignored; it does not affect the system's functionality or performance.

So basically, I just got this laptop (well about a month ago) and ever since the third day, at completely random times the screen goes blacklit. I have no cursor control or keypad control, i changed all the sleep settings to never and nothing seems to be working. I have to completely restart the laptop to do anything again. On the reiliability report it usually says windows stopped working or was closed unexpectedly. Other than this problem, there is literally nothing wrong with it, it works perfectly fine I am very frustrated as I bought this laptop for university  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I?ve got my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 in Russia with Windows 8 Single Language Edition on it.I?ve set up three keyboard layouts, those are German, Russian and English. Both the on-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition work for English and Russian. However, with German I don?t have the handwriting recognition as an option. How could I activate it or install it? Should I buy Windows 8 Pro Pack for it or does this restriction have to do with something else?If it?s all about the Windows SL license I would rather prefer to have the recognition of German handwriting instead of English.

Answer:Language support for the recognition of handwriting on Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13

Hi eugrus,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

You may need to add a German language pack and then you will see the Language settings to personalize handwriting recognition. Language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 8. The language packs are installed from the language control panel on the Yoga 13. Follow the steps in the link below:

How to install the Language pack.

Note: If you are facing issues with Windows SL license to download the Language pack in Windows 8, you may need to get Windows 8 Pro, you may also follow the steps to choose your required language in the ?Handwriting Option?:

Please hold the (Windows key + C) to go to the Charms bar.
On the Charms bar please click on Search.
Please select Settings under Search option and type ?Language?.
Now please click on ?Language? and click on ?Input method and Handwriting"
You can add your required language now.
You can personalize the Handwriting option by clicking on ?Personalize hand writing recognition?.

Hope this Helps.

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

I am using a Lenovo Ideapad yoga 13 ultra book laptop. The laptop costs around 1 lac INR. I had absolutely no issues with laptop.  It was working fine, till in the month of Feb 2015, the touch screen of the laptop got damaged accidently.  I have followed up with at least a dozen Lenovo authorized service centers and all of them have put me down with saying we are not able to resolve the issue.  It?s now six months since I have been using the laptop with the cracked touch screen. I had directly interacted with Lenovo, but all in vain. It is saddening to experience that in spite of buying a high end laptop, the service and support provided by Lenovo is far below acceptable. Henceforth, I won?t be recommending any Dell products to anyone. Very Very Very cold response?????..

Hi, my name is Ben and i own a 2 year old Lenovo Y530 laptop with windows Vista Home Premium.Everything was working fine, when one day about a month and a half ago, i got the "blue screen of death".Better known as an error code, where your computer crashes.I then proceeded to re-install windows vista, where then it failed to install the updates, and only after a very short amount of time of actually being in the desktop of the computer, it crashed once more, giving the classic error message of it might be something new that was installed, or new hardware, when in reality i didn't install or add/remove any new equipment whatsoever.I bought this Laptop in the US 2 years ago in late 2008, and then moved to Israel. So here is the real problem, after checking the HDD for bugs, or viruses, it was fpormatted, and put back in, also following a system recovery from Lenovos one click recovery system. And found that neither the HDD, or the OS was trhe problem. So since i live in Israel, i sent it to my local Lenovo shop, where they said they do not fix these types of lenovo laptops! So how am i supposed to get to the bottom of this issue? if my local computer lenovo store does not fix my model of computer?I would like an answer ASAP because i need this computer for school and such, and the information that was lost is irrelevant, i would just like the computer to be functioning and stable again.Thank you, and much regards,Ben.

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 Crashed, not working, no tech support, need expert/lenovo technician advice

To be covered by warranty, your laptop must have IWS (International Warranty Service). That's the only way to get covered. http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/UserFiles/IWS/20100909035858_62.htm Best regards.

Purchased a brand new ThinkPad Yoga 14 Ultrabook, I have it one week.  I called Lenovo for support on the pen and touch screen driver and they want $70 before they will help.  Reps said that this issues has been resollved but that  I need to pay ANOTHER $70, on a machine that just came out of the box, if I want to know what it is. Disappointed to say the least!  If there's a Lenovo rep that wants to make this better, I'd appreciate it.

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Is there anyone who could pull some strings, whisper few words here and there and get it done I think all IdeaPads owners would greatly appreciate such an update (Anyone agree with me? ).

LSC keeps giving me an alert that my Norton Antivirus is not active.I click the activate and nothing happenes. My Norton INternet Security Suite is active and working. How do I fix this?

Answer:Lenovo Support Center Ideapad 590

hi frankfallon,

Welcome to Community.

Your problem might be similar to this thread (although this is a different product, same aspects apply).

It's possible that the Lenovo Solutions Center (LSC) is not detecting your Nortorn Internet Security as an antivirus but as a Firewall (compared to Norton Antivirus). You can try to update to the latest LSC but if this doesn't fix it, you can just ignore the message from LSC about the antivirus not being active as the security software is already active.

My Lenovo Yoga 900 has a cracked screen. I called Lenovo and the rep that I talked to told me they don't do repairs and told me to take it back to Best Buy or to another computer repair tech to have it repaired.   Best Buy said they couldn't replace the glass and neither could the tech that I took it to. This seems absurd.  Why would anyone pay over $1200 dollars for a laptop that can't be repaired if needed?  I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do and I want it fixed.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I just find it very hard to believe that Lenovo won't repair their own merchandise.

Answer:Can't get support for Lenovo 900 yoga

Who did you call?  If you have a nearby Lenovo Premier dealer near you, you might carry it in.  It certainly can be replaced.  (It might be expensive.) The manual indicates that the entire assembly (hinges, lid, etc.) are replaced as a unit, but I'm sure it can be taken apart, but I I have never done so I cannot describe it.  I have done similar models and they took less than 1/2 hour.  My guess is that it simply snaps together, but as I said, I haven't done it so I don't really know.

Hi, I bought my Lenovo Yoga 11e from Amazon. The specs of this laptop is 2016 model, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Windows 10 64bit. I recently ran the Samsung Magician software and also Crystaldisk info software. It showed that the SSD is only running at 1.5Gbps though it is capable of SATA 2. The reason I did this benchmark on the laptop was because I frequently heard some noise from the speaker when steaming a youtube video. There seems to be some bottleneck with disk IO or maybe CPU. Memory is definitely sufficient for 4GB. Anyone has information how to upgrade to the SATA 2 interface would be greatly appreciated. I checked device manager that I am running the standard ACHI interface which I suppose comes with windows 10. Thank you!

Hi, My name is jenny , i am having a major issue with my Lenovo Ideapad yoga 13 and was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose the problem. First the problem started when the laptop refused to turn on.So the lenovo laptop will not power up whatsoever even with a charger plugged in or with the battery removed and the charger plugged in. I replaced the battery and it turned on immidently but the battery slowly died and refused to charge. Now i am back to square one. I replaced the internal power jack where you plug the charger in and it still will not turn on and there is no lights indicating any power at all. Is is possible that a internal power cord can cause a battery to stop charging. Does anyone knwo what this could be? I know the computer motherboard is ok because when i replaced the battery the computer came on right away and the computer was fine but the battery refuses to charge.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 Issue

Hello Jenny, welcome to the forum.

Just a thought, but are you able to try another charger and/or charging cable? The fault may lie with one of these, rather than with the Yoga 13 itself?

I'm living in Australia and my computer suddenly went wrong. So I bring its to the warranty service in Australia, but they said my type of computer didn't warranty there. So I sent my computer to VietNam because my type of computer can be fix there (International warranty). Finally they said, they need to see the bill when I bought the computer, otherwise they not fix it or have to be charge to fix it.But the most important thing is I lost my bill. So they said they not take responsible and not fix it ! I have a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13, which came with an i5-3337U processor, 4GB RAM and 128SSD. I replaced the ram with http://www.integralmemory.com/sites/default/files/uploads/dpdf/IN3V8GNAJKXLV.pdf as I often found that 4gb wasn't enough. My laptop is now running at about 60 degrees celcius for each core. I don't know what it was before as I hadn't measured it before, but the fans sound louder. Have i installed ram that isn't compatible or something? It runs well and multitasking is now better, it just seems louder and hotter than before. Thanks in advance.

Answer:New RAM issue Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13

Hi, DM  ?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

First of all, I recommend you update your motherboard BIOS if an update exists. Sometimes new memory profiles will be included. It's probably a timing issue, not a frequency issue.

To test properly you would have to: 1) Run with slow memory for five minutes in idle. Record highest CPU core temp. 2) Repeat with faster memory. 3) Repeat with slower memory again (because things are heating up).

Update us how it goes.

I have a  Lenovo Yoga 710 (IdeaPad), a few weeks ago I was working on it, and suddenly (and with NO reason) it died, so I sent it to the Repair center 3 weeks ago because its NEW, and still in warranty. I've reviewed the repair status several times, but the last update was on July 31st, and it seems that the part needed to repair my machine is unavailable. I use my PC on a daily basis and it is really affecting my work/studies (I'm a PhD student)! Moreover I'm finishing my Fellowship in the US en returning back to Argentina by September 15th, so I really, REALLY, need your help! I've phoned several times to the Lenovo service center, but nobody gave me a helpful answer. What can I do to get my PC back before my flight date?

Hi everybody, I'm looking for a solution to draw/take notes on my lenovo yoga 13. Laptop's screen is capacitive, no digitizer, so I'm wondering what kind of stylus/pen can work with it. I'd like to have a pen with pressure sensitivity, but based on my research I couldn't find one that works for sure.Is there an active pen with bluetooth that can actually write on this screen? Or any active pen for that matter?Otherwise I'm stuck with those lame capacitive pens that are everything but accurate, even the bamboo solo doesn't work with it.Any ideas? Answer:LENOVO IDEAPAD YOGA 11 2696

Good day and welcome to the community.Sorry you're having difficulty.
Since you can't get into Windows to (re)start the recovery/restore process, you might need to do so from the Boot Menu as described on page 23 of the user guide: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_yoga_11_ug_v1.0_may_2012_english.pdf

I've never seen or used a Yoga 11 / Windows RT model, but you could try pressing Fn+F12 when you see the Lenovo boot splash screen to see if you get the Boot Options menu described. I don't know if you'd be given any options to retain any files or settings from this kind of restore/recovery, so please use caution.

Hope this helps you a bit.Regards.

Answer:Ideapad Yoga lenovo software

'evening...
welcome to the community.

i haven't seen a support/driver matrix for the Yoga yet. i'd suspect that it will be reachable from here:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=NOTE-MATRIX
at some point since the machine is now officially available today.

if you have the machine, have you looked at the D: drive? as i understand IdeaPads, that's typically where the preload software installers are located.

Hi all,  I've recently purchased the Ideapad yoga 13 secondhand without the backlit keyboard. I'm curious whether if I can replace my current keyboard with one that is backlit. Your responses will help me as I like to work in dim lit rooms more than brightly lit ones and a backlit keyboard will help me with productivity. Thank you!

hello

i am not sure but if you can find a keyboard with backlight have a look to see if your current keyboard has the same connections http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Black-Keyboard-for-Lenovo-Yoga-3-Pro-2-in-1-ultrabook-Backlit-UK-S... link might be the one you are after but double check

I left my ideapad (which was working fine and charging) plugged in this morning with the screen closed in a hotel with one of those keycards that control the electricity in my room, so that when I left all the electricity turned off. When I returned and turned the electricity back on, my computer gave no signs of charging, and appears to be completely dead. Nothing has happened to it (to the best of my knowledge), it was right where I left it, as I left it, but the thing appears dead. What happened???? Is there a solution???

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11 not turning on?

So I guess the issue here is that the battery is dead and it won't change, but I'm baffled by what could have gone wrong between 9 AM and 3 PM when it was just sitting there

Turn off computer> Press the OKR button> BIOS If the BIOS ain't broken, don't try to fix it. In other words, if your computer works fine and you are able to access the BIOS, LEAVE IT ALONE and don't try downloading one from Lenovo's website.

Hi,I porchased a new Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 500-15, I'm having three troubles at starting using:1) The graphics driver falls almost every time in browsers(edge and firefox) when i watching videos, load sites with sliders or scrolling page down in ebay. This is the error message: Spoiler (Highlight to read)"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" "Display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered""Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" "Display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered"I tied to download and install a new driver from her for integreated video card Intel HD graphics 520, but that is impossible because it says that the driver is not validate for this computer. 2) When the laptop plugged in, the mouse/touchpad freezes (or lagging) in every 1 second. I found this happens when the process "FMAPP" running in the background. I read in some sites that this process belongs to "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver", but in my expirence when i kill this procces nothing not changing to audio. 3) The screen too dark and yellowish, any solution to fix it? Specifications:OS: Windows 10CPU: Intel core i5 6200UGPU: Intel HD graphics 520 + NVIDIA 920MMemory: 8GB DDR3

I have been considering purchasing a Windows RT device as a replacement for my aging windows 7 laptop. I am especially interested in an RT device because of their portability, simplistic nature, and above all, price. A windows RT device is also optimal for me because I only do a number of things on my laptop, such as browsing, Microsoft Office work, and using a number of light desktop applications that could be easily replaced with applications from the windows 8 store. Therefore, I don't think it makes much sense for me to bother purchasing a high power laptop running the full version of Windows 8. I should also mention that I am a student. I have narrowed hunt down to two Windows RT devices: The Microsoft Surface, and the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11.
I like the Surface because of its beautiful industrial design, decent display, touch covers, and all the extra touches that Microsoft put into the device to make it special and unique. However, my greatest concern is typing on the touch cover; specifically, I worry that typing on my lap will be a painful process. 95% of my work on my Laptop is done with it in my lap while sitting on the couch, rather then having it rested on a table. Therefore, if the device does not sit well in my lap, it is significantly less valuable to me.
Before you mention the Ideapad Yoga's price, you should know that I have family connections to Lenovo, which allows me to get the Yoga for the same price as the Microsoft Surface. I especially like the Yoga be... Read more

Answer:Surface RT vs. Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11

I would tell you, like all people to jump ship and abandon RT. Why would you want a limited OS when you can get a tablet running an atom for the same price? The Surface is a beautifully built machine and I really like the yoga's hardware design, but 799$ for a windows RT computer is laughable. I bought the HP envy x2 and love it. If you want a premium device with a decent keyboard, nice all-aluminum design and full windows 8, I recommend the HP envy x2. Also the Acer Iconia w510 is a great tablet for 599$ you get 64Gb running windows 8 and ASUS has the vivotab smart for 499$ with 64 Gb and an atom and I think they have the weird keyboard/cover thing that the surface has as well. If you REALLY wanted a surface I would say its not a bad choice but the yoga is. But I'll say it again, why limit yourself with RT when you can buy windows 8. Samsung and Acer are already not doing RT anymore because they said consumers don't see the value in it and its because there is no value in it, not when an atom tablet costs the same amount. That's my 2 cents but I have some programs like putty, matlab, office 2013 academic,
visual studio pro running on my tablet. The thing I will tell and think hard about this, are you sure there aren't ANY x86 programs you might want like turbotax, office pro, firefox, google chrome, vlc, utorrent just to name a few?

Hello all, I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17ISK part # 80Q00011US, and according to case manager assigned to my case, 100 days ago. The notebook was mis-represented by a sales rep, and when I got the machine and it didn't have the second hard drive bay in rear of machine, which I was told the 80Q00011US had. The machine also had a mild display issue, but rather than report it and spend 2+ weeks without a machine, I ignore the issue. It didn't affect daily usage anyways. So 10 days ago, the machine dies during a reboot. Seems the MB fried. I have been fighting and waiting (mostly waiting) for over a week for a case manager (Crystal) to contact me, which finally happen @ 7:30 AM PST yesterday. The case manager was not customer friendly, refused the replacement or refund options I requested, stated they would ONLY repair the system. Her cause for "rejecting" those options was because I didn't report the display issue in the first 30 days (I have enough exp. (35 Yrs.) in computers to know a bad spot in display is NOT going to fried a MB). Conservation got heated. I refuse the repair option because I know what they will do is replace MB & Display, and return other parts back to the machine (parts that very well could have been damaged when MB died, leaving me with a US$1,300 refurbished machine). I then requested to speak with her supervisor since I was tired of being BS-ed, only for her to claim there was no-one higher to speak to, and her actually hang... Read more

In their ARK description, Intel admits that they support `vt-d` virtualization technology on i7-6700HQ Processor. But nowhere in Bios (version E5CN56WW), it has mentioned on how to enable it. The only related configuration seems to be named Virtualization which is enabled, but I can't confirm it by enabling IOMMU on my Linux kernel (nothing appears in `/sys/kernel/iommu_groups/` folder). So I wanted to know if it supports this virtualization technology and if yes, how I can enable it? Thank you

HI, so i'm thinking about buying this,  https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/store/d/lenovo-ideapad-flex-5-14-2-in-1-pc/91jb40s7kj8g/h3lk?activet... i'd like to know, if it supports PCI NVME drives.  I know it has an M2 slot, as well as a regular sata 2.5 slot, so i can put 2 drives, both SSD at once.  But for the m2 slot, would it have to be SATA or can it be NVME?  Thanks for any help.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 14 2-in-1 PC , 81C9000CUS - does this support PCI NVME?

Hi shynepo3,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The Flex 5-1470 (Type 81C9) Laptop / part number 81C9000CUS must be a M.2 NVMe SSD.

Storage specification:
Some: HDD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide, 7mm highSome: M.2 SSD / PCIe 3.0 x 4

OEM recommended M.2 SSD listed here PCIe-NVMe for model 81C9.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Hello, I only found out after purchasing the Y510P laptop that it for some strange reason does not support 5Ghz networks, only 2.4Ghz. This results in me having insanely slow connection every single night around peak hours (7-11pm), and I'm unable to do anything like watching movies, playing games or download stuff. Does anyone know exactly how to upgrade the wireless card on this laptop so it supports 5Ghz networks? Do I have to go out and buy another wireless card, or is it software upgrades like drivers only? I'm not a computer major so a walkthrough would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well I just had a wasted 40 minute phone call with Lenovo support.. When I flip my yoga between modes (tablet, stand, laptop) or generally move it around the fan rattles. Recently it has begun to rattle when just sat still on my lap. It's extremely annoying as one of the reasons for buying a cool running Haswell based laptop was for it to be quiet! Also, being as loose as it is it will likely give up completely in the near future. I spoke to the danish support centre and after a long wait I was told it wasn't an issue with the hardware (really? Is this some new fangled software fan?) then I was told it wasn't an issue because I couldn't see it (well no the laptop case is solid metal/plastic with a small vent at the back.. how am I supposed to see it?) but I could book it in anyway and send it away but this would take at least 3 weeks and - and this is the best bit - it probably wouldn't be fixed anyway! Oh lovely. All they would have to do is take it apart and replace the fan..

My Yoga 13 does not run very well on Win 8.1. The response time is laggy, I've had a few hard freezes, and it is overall not as fluid and nice as it was on Windows 8. Looking at the official product pages for the Yoga and the new Yoga 2 Pro, something very unsettling appeared: no Windows 8.1 support! http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/yoga/#compare Is lenovo seriously not going to support the Yoga 11 and Yoga 13 with Windows 8.1?

Answer:Yoga 13 - No Official Windows 8.1 Support from Lenovo

I had the same experience after updating to 8.1. So I tried several different things including a clean install of 8.1 with the same experience. I restored back to 8.0 and won't even think of 8.1 until I see some sort of support from Lenovo.

I am having some problems with the battery on my Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13.  I have searched the forum to find a mountain of topics with problems similar but not quite the same.  I have also tried a lot of the suggestions to resolve the issue but none have worked so I guess i have to start my own thread. My Lenovo has been working fine (well has fine as could be expected with these machines) up until last week.   I had been using the machine in work without issue and put it into the car (fully charged) to take home.   When i went to use it again a couple of days ago I plugged in the charger as normal and turned it on, only to find it completely dead.   The power machine didnt turn on and the power button didnt illuminate.   My initial feeling was that i may have accidently turned the machine on while in the car and this had drained the battery.   I also thought that perhaps the power supply was faulty so I bought a new one. When i tried the new power supply it was the same result as the original, (not turning on and no illumination on the power button).    I went back to the original power supply, this time there was a fan noise (although the machine did not turn on), and the battery indicator flashed repeatedly orange (which i believe means the battery is below 5% and needs charging.   So i left the oringal power supply plugged in overnight to charge.   Next morning the battery indicator was still flashing repeate... Hi guys, Today my yoga ideapad 13 stopped working after I accidentally dropped a small lamp onto the edge of the laptop (that didn't even make contact with the screen or the keyboard). Once the contact was made, the pc screen completely died and the sound (if I recall correctly) was gone too. However, the computer was still 'on' since the LED light for the power was still lit up. I tried to restart the pc by pressing the power button for 20 seconds and pressing it again but the screen is still black and nothing works besides the power button LED. Even when I press caps lock, the caps lock LED is not lit up. Are there any solutions to this? Unfortunately, I am in a different country atm and I don't think getting it checked by Lenovo is a viable option for at least a month and I had some important work saved on the PC. Edit: This is the old yoga ideapad 13 (I believe I purchased it a year and a half ago now...)Thanks guys.

Answer:Enter Bios Lenovo Ideapad YOGA 11

Hi coucoune1633 ,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

To enter the BIOS , turn off the pc and use the Novo key (item1 page12) to power on .
Novo menu would appear offering BIOS set up (for changing boot options etc. )
System recovery option from one key recovery initial back up would delete everything and restore to factory defaults.

About booting to safe mode:
Since starting with Windows 8 and up , usual F8 on boot is deeply embedded on the recovery making it hard to access.

If Windows cannot boot to a viable stage for to access advance recovery menu :

1. Shift + F8 works on some system , do it at same time you see the lenovo splash screen repeatedly.

2. Forcing recovery mode on windows 8 : turn on then suddenly turn off pressing the power button , then on and off again for 2-3 attempts , Turn on and see if recovery screen would show up for the advance option.

3. Some system have F11 / F12 on BIOS to launch the recovery / boot option

4. Using a bootable media ( USB rescue image often useful for repair / back up  , using Windows media creation tool  )
If Windows 8/10 does not start: (using the command line)
How to boot into Safe Mode from the Windows 8/10 installation media or recovery USB flash drive.

I'm very disappointed from Lenovo for producing Laptop without complete recovery solution. I mistakely formated the hard drive of Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, so I lost the recovery, so I called Contact Centre and they pointed me to Jumbo Electronics Company in Abu Dhabi of which are aotherized to do services for Lenovo. I went to them to save time, and get my laptop back to the initial state of which I bought, instead of getting the original state of how I bought the laptop which was:1. Windows 8.1 Single Language.2. All Drivers are Installed.3. At Start-Up, I should be getting to put in my sync account while it's preparing windows for first use. I got the following:1. Windows 8 Single Language installed. (Not 8.1)2. Drivers are installed.3. Recovery is supposed to be back.4. Local User Account "Lenovo" was created. OK, Skip it, it's fine. I thought about trying to do recovery to make sure of the recovery working before I do back up of it, here is what I got:1. Windows 8 Single Language Installed (Not 8.1)2. Not all drivers are installed (For ex. Wireless Driver which is very important for this laptop since no LAN no other connection except wireless) So I thought they gave me the non-original recovery because of the missing drivers which was not believable to me.I contacted "Service Centre for IdeaPad Within UAE" ended up telling me that that was the original copy of the Recovery and Yes, it does not Install the Wireless Drivers! I was just running my laptop and trying to figure out an unknown USB issue with an external CD drive that I have which I lost the power cord to and was trying to find if I had a replacement. When I tried one power cord, the computer immediately shut down and won't turn back on. I'm no expert on voltages and such, but I'm fairly sure I either just put too much power into the computer or shot the battery. The power source that I plugged into my CD drive had an output of 12V 800mA, and again, I'm not expert with power output, so if that's way too much to plug into a computer (or rather into a device that's plugged into my computer), I would've never guessed.Any help from someone out there who's smarter than me? Will I need an entire new battery or just need to let it sit for a day? What can I do to make sure the least harmful scenario occurs? Also, a side note, there is nothing externally wrong with it. It didn't make any noises, it didn't heat up, it didn't shock or anything like that, just shut off.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad 11s Yoga Camera problems

Is your webcam still detected in 'Device Manager' in the section 'Imaging Devices'?Check here for newer drivers, don't grab drivers from Windows Update, it's not really recommended: http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-11s-notebook-id...

Hello I live in Finland and I have read previously that these Windows 8 product keys are now linked somehow with motherboard´s BIOS systems, so we actually don´t need to know our product codes anymore. Well, in some cases we do need to know them. My Windows asked me once if I want to install a new version to get some new features, the same procedure can be launched by going to your Control panel, selecting System and selecting the top option where it says you could update to a new version to unlock new features. This requires a 25-digit Windows 8 product key. Which we Yoga 13 owners do not have, as it is somewhere in the BIOS, hidden from us. How can I give my product key to this field if I do not know it? 1. Called to Microsoft I tried contacting Microsoft Finland about this, but their automatic phone service stated it was none of their concern as it is a pre-installed system, and therefore I need to contact Lenovo straight. I tried to get a person to talk to, but I got none. Always an automatic service. I called to their switch (is this the right word?) to ask if I could get a person to talk to, but the number she forwarded me to always got to an automatic robot, again. 2. Lenovo Customer support Well, Lenovo directs customers to this forum from their customer service web page, so I hope some Lenovo employee can finally answer this question, please. I value customer service, and getting an answer from another forum using custom... Read more

Answer:Win 8 product key and a pre-installed Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13, how to get it?

When they ask for that key, they are expecting an upgrade key to something like Windows 8 Pro or addition of a Media Center Key. They don't expect you to use the same Key you are already using. It won't work. Anyhow, take a look at this: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-8-and-8-1-Knowledge-Base/How-to-find-the-product-key-on-a-preins...

I have had my Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 for a year and 2 months now. When I plugged it in yesterday afternoon the charger did not connect - I tired three different plug sockets and had no luck. I am wondering whether this is just general wear and tear, my latop and charger travel with my everyday to uni. They are constantly being plugged in and out or in my bag. I do not have a case for the laptop.  Can anybody help me? Has anyone else had a similar problem? Will I need to just buy a new charger or seek out professional help to fix charger port?  Thanks!!

Answer:HELP - Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 charger will not connect!!!

fionaroberts23, Welcome to Lenovo Forums! Thank you for taking time to post your inquiry.  I can see that you are having issues on the AC adapter. If you have plugged the AC adapter (charger) on the Yoga 13 and the computer is not charging there are 2 things that we need to check. 1. possible that the AC adapter (Lenovo 65W AC Adapter(UL-SDC))is busted 2. possible that the Battery Pack is busted 3. try a different wall outlet that is not connected on a surge protector. You can also check if your warranty covers the battery. You can check your warranty information here click hereYour Battery specification is this Lenovo 65W AC Adapter(UL-SDC) click here You can contact Lenovo UK at click here I hope I have provide you the information you need

My Yoga 11 is starting up, but then isn't working. Clicks and swipes are recognized, but don't appear to have any reaction. I'd like to do a factory reset, but can't get into the settings menu. Is there a key combination to enter startup options, and do a factory reset?

I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 (Anniversary Update - Build 14393.693) clean installed on  a Yoga 2 Pro (20266 / 80AY) BIOS 76CN43WW. The "Lenovo Yoga  Mode Control" version 2.0.0.9 (ymc.exe) has consistently crashed every day for the last few months. Crash reports are logged. Are there any plans to fix this issue any time soon? Best Regards,

Hi forum, I have purchased the new Yoga 900 BE (business edition) which supposedly adds TPM and Lenovo Active Pen support. I had that confirmed 4 times by 4 different Lenovo online sales support people before placing the order. Now I have the Yoga, and the active pen - and it does not work. No information on drivers, or firmware updates is available anywhere. What should I do to make the pen work? thx in advance Peter

so our yoga 2 13 crashed - due to a bad hard drive.  in looking at the pages and pages of entries on this forum regarding hard drive failures in these machines i find it incredible that Lenovo doesnt do something.  When i called, i was told - too bad, you are out of warranty we wont do anything for you.  My response is that I will never again buy a lenovo product and will go back to Dell - i have Dell laptops that are 11 years old and still running, unlike my just out of warranty $1000 Yoga laptop.  such garbage they put out.

I'm going to post to the forum, twitter and facebook in addition to my recent phone conversation in the hope that one avenue results in a response from somebody other than a minimum wage customer service agent. You have some serious improvement to do with your customer experience around the yoga line. December 2012: Bought my first Yoga 13. Had issues with wifi (which I thought were unique to me).Late December 2012: Returned to store and got a replacement model which had more issues (HDD kept disconnecting)January 2013: Returned to store and upgraded to the core i7 model (hoping new model would have improved build).Mid January 2013: Screw fell out of the bottom of the laptop! Returned to Lenovo for service. Received back almost 2 weeks later. Keyboard not secured well after service but liveable.Late August 2013: Power died completely on laptop. Returned to Lenovo for service.Mid September 2013: Laptop returned over 2 weeks later with new motherboard.Today: Noticed that tech didn't verify the spec on my laptop and replaced the core i7 CPU and 8gb ram with the base core i5/4Gb model. Called support and I have to send it back to Lenovo for the same slow repair process. Please respond asap with somebody who can offer me something a little more impressive than a free FedEx mailing label! Honestly, how difficult is it to have a QC person review the key components of the laptop (CPU, Memory, SSD) to make sure that the correct components go inside the ma... Dear Lenovo community, since a few days ago, i'm having a very complicated issue to resolve from my side, even with i have a bast experience about PCs.

The Yoga Pad HDMI's output socket is not working propertly, showing as you may see on the following picture. I tried with different HDMI cables, different monitors and TVs and all of them are doing the same, showing those green pixels everywhere:

Link to image

Also sometimes, the output socket is not working directly, and some times, it's just a black screen. I tried changing Hz setting and, one monitor was correctly working on 30Hz and duplicated screen, so no green dots, but no the other options.

If it's not the cable and it's not the monitor/TV/screen, should be the video card of the PC?.

Hi, I have this problem: I didnt use my Lenovo ideapad yoga 13 for over a week and when i did it didnt turn on so I put the charger because I thought it was it had no battery, but then I notice that the port where you charge it was broken, (i don't know if that's the proper name of the piece). That piece, at least externally, it's like a three side yellow square, in the center has to tiny squares made of a bright material and has four little sticks of the same material beside the tiny bright square. Of the four tiny sticks of the right side, one it's blend, and the other three are broken in the peak of the sticks. Also, the superior part of the yellow square it's broken, it's still there but it's broken. The charger it's broken too, but it was working perfectly until the charger port broke.  I have many questions about this: Can it be fixed? How badly it is damage? Can I buy the pice? Where? How much it could cost? Is it too complicated to fix? If I cannot fix it, there's anyway I can get back all the documents inside the laptop? Also I bought the computer in March, I don't really know how it broke, because when I last use it it was working perfectly, can I ask for the waranty? There's something else you can tell me to help me? Please, help me. There I had all the applications to college next year. I'm desesperate too fixed it.  Note: I live in Venezuela and I know it can be a hard to find the piece here, but I can order it from online or ask someone ... Read more

Answer:The charger port of my Lenovo ideapad yoga 13 broke

I found a replacement for the charger port on Amazon and it seemed reasnably simple to replace.  However, upon replacement I found that the break resulted in shorting out the entire motherboard.  That cost $700 to replace but I was fortunate in that I purchased a Square warranty that covered the cost.

Earlier today, I tried out Lenovo Motion Control. I was quite satisfied with it, though it though it had a minor lack of content. So I went to the software developers website in hope that they might be able to help me. I noticed a lot of features that weren't in the one I got. There was no download link, so I decided to look in Lenovo Support. There wasn't anything there, so now I'm here at the forum, in hope that someone could provide with me a way to update the motion control or provide with me a link to a updated version. It doesn't matters if it's Lenovo or a Eyesight version. Thank you if you're willing to answer. c:

Answer:Is it ok to always have earbuds/headphones connected to my lenovo ideapad yoga 11s?

hi ramiro0001,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Regarding your questions:
1. If you keep the laptop in a desk and don't move it around then yeah, it's fine having the earbuds/headphones connected all the time (i use this setup too but instead of headphones, I use an external speaker).

2. Same as the above, if you use the laptop on a desk and don't move it around then yes, you can always keep it plugged-in but I recommend you enable Conservation Mode (for Win8.1) or Optimized Battery Health (for WIn8.0) to limit the battery charge to 60%. This feature will prolong the battery life by not overcharging it and will route the power to the AC adapter. This is also my setup at home but I usually unplug the AC adapter from the outlet after I shutdown the machine.

Unfortunately my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Laptop has gone faulty just a month outside my two year warranty.  After being inspected this has come back as being customer fault as it is the centre pin in the power connector that has been bent that has caused the issue.  However Feel that this is a very poor design and that for an item at this price point that it is not fit for purpose.  Also when I was speaking to a work friend they had bought the same item only a few months before me and had the exact same fault.  I have since done done a small search and seen this same issue has been raised on a few forums over the last few years.   I was was hoping to get a view on how common this was and if you have been able to resolve.  If anyone else has had this issue please can you let me know and also how long you had the item before the issue began.  Many thanks

Hi , i have this labtop , and it is really annoying , when FAN makes noise constantly. Temperature is normal between 40-50 Celzius degrees.  Everything is updated (bios, drivers etc) , and when i start the computer, it starts to make noise, and if i open some tabs in web browser , so noise just increases like i were playing BF4 with ultra details or something like that. Please help me,  is this  "normal" for this labtop (in that case i will return it back to shop) or it is just broken one or can i do something for solution.  Thank you for advice

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 2 13 Orange FAN makes noise

Hi, I bought this Laptop 2 days ago and this is indeed annoying! I had a 12 years old Acer and a new i7 Lenovo, and both are completly silent. Sometimes when the CPU is working, like compiling code, it could happen that the fan starts working, otherwise they are off. But the Yoga 2 13, the fan is working all the time? Why Lenovo?I assume that if there is no software solution for it, it might be the usage of wrong hardware or maybe the hardware architecture is wrong, why the fan is always on. @LenovoCome on, please fix it or tell us the reason!

I have no idea what is going on. I bought this laptop earlier today and the only think I've installed is google chrome. And then all of a sudden the laptop turns off. The adapter doesnt show any sign that it's plugged in. I've tried holding the power button down for 30sec then pressing it again to turn it back on. Nothing. I've even tried pressing the reset button, but Nothing. I am so mad right now since I spent a large amount of money on this, and now it wont even turn on. I've used it for less than 15 minutes

Hi there, I wonder if anyone could give me an advice.Yesterday my Yoga 13 screen suddenly started to black out for something like 5 minutes until it went off completely (just the screen).I was listening to music and just browsing normally, not using any kind of heavy program. As the computer was still working (as the music continued to play) I got a torch and faced towards the screen and then I could see that everything was still there! It seems that just the backlight is not working.I then plugged the pc to my TV with an hdmi cable and I have been able to use it this way.Does anyone have any advice on what should I do? The computer is not covered by warranty anymore and I really don't want to expend heaps of money to fix it :/ Is there any chance that it is just the screen backlight that is not well plugged?Cheers to everyone that can give me some light! Will

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Ideapad 13 - Screen blacked off but pc is still working

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Have you tried going into the BIOS Setup to see how the display is there?  If the problem occurs in the BIOS Setup then that is a good indicator that the problem is hardware related.

Will the back light come on if you move the LCD lid to a different angle?   If it does, the problem could be a bad video cable or a cable connection is not fully seated.

I have included a link below to your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual.  The manual will explain how to disassemble your laptop so you may check the cable connections.

I have also included a Lenovo Training Video for your model that you may find useful in working with your laptop.
