I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi!

I just bought and Toshiba Click 10 Hybrid computer, but after using it for some time the sound starts crackling (will post a video when it happens again). Disabling the device in the playback devices, and enabling it again fixes the problem for some time, restarting the windows also fixes it. Also, it happens in the device speakers and in the headphone jack.

The user in this review, also reports the same problem.

Does anybody knows a fix for this problem.

Hello everybody.
I am new in the forum and i also have to admit i do not have a clue about laptops. The problem:

I have a SATELLITE CLICK 10 LX0W-C-104 with Windows 10. Although i do not have files and the total capacity of any programs that i have downloaded as extra is very small, approximately 5 Giga, i can not download the windows updates. It appears that i do not have enough space. Can i replace the 32 Giga SSD with something of bigger capacity like 128 GB? Someone told me to use a micro-sd card but is this only for files, like documents or images? Or should i just leave the windows not updated??

Any response will be helpfull

Thanks

Hello all,
I have recently acquired a Satellite Click 10 LX0W Toshiba notebook.
The specifications says that it is compatible with micro SD with UHS-I (max. size: 128 GB)
According to SD Association, the Bus Mode UHS-I is compatible with UHS Speed classes 1 and 3 (http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/speed/)
However, the card I bought (Kingston 64 GB, micro SD XC I, UHS speed class 3) does not work properly in this notebook but it works perfect in other devices.
The card is recognised by the Satellite Click 10 but reading or writting is extremely slow and often give error messages. I cannot even format it using this notebook.
I think there is something wrong with the Toshiba notebook but can you give me your opinion please?

Thank you!
Regards,

Answer:MicroSD does not work with Satellite Click 10 LX0W

Same here

Toshiba click 10 with windows 10, micro SD card 64GB Kingston Class10 (UHS-1) does not work. Card is detected allright - can see it in Storage Manager, but can not format it. If I format it in some another device, Toshiba click 10 can not use it - it can not write to it - it will destroy ntfs/exFAT FS on card. Event viewer is full of SD card related errors.

Any suggestion here, please?

Driver is from 2006 (on windows 10) but can not find never anywhere.

Hi, i have a click 10 that has recently started saying it is 'plugged in, not charging'.

Both batteries are available, and the dock battery is at 100%, whilst the tablet battery is discharging and will not charge in windows from the cable or the keyboard battery.

it also says 'plugged in, not charging' whether i take the cable out or leave it in.

i have tried the 'remove accpi drivers' trick, and i am running the most recent bios 1.7.

One strange thing to note is that undocked, the tablet will charge as normal, but when i remove the cable it stops charging as expected but still says 'plugged in, not charging'.

really confused with this and not sure what else to try.

also to note is that it charges perfectly fine when switched off using the supplied charger.

Hello,

I seem to have an issue with the 2nd Battery on my Click 10. The notebook is about 1 month old. The 2nd battery is always at 100% and never depletes, so I only getting approx. 40% use out of battery 1 before it turns off. It does not give me a low battery warning as it normally shows around 55-60% remaining. I have looked at the handbook and believe that the 2nd battery should be used 1st but this does not seem to be the case on mine.
Has anyone had this issue before and if so how did you resolve it?

Many thanks for reading.

Hopefully there is someone out there who can help.

I bought a Toshiba Satellite Click 10 (S/N: XF028276S) almost a year ago, and I heard that there are different versions of this model in different countries. Unlike other versions which has a second battery in the keyboard, the US version comes with only one battery in the screen. Now I'm wondering if I can do any of the followings:
1. I assume there is an empty battery compartment in the keyboard, can I buy a compatible battery, unscrew the keyboard base and do the installation myself?
2. If the above doesn't work, can I buy a compatible keyboard base with pre-installed battery inside, from outside the country?
I called Toshiba CS center a couple of times and their representatives gave me contacts of 2 authorized parts suppliers, I called them but was told they cannot help me. Both of them said I should talk to Toshiba again.

Hello,

I have owned a Click 10 tablet for about two months and have the common battery issue where Windows lists only one battery as being present - normally, only battery 1 is present. Recently, this has changed to battery 2 being listed as present instead of battery 1 - why is this? Either way, I get about 4-5 hours battery life with modest use. I have docked and undocked the tablet, charged it for well over 24 hours and have been on the 1.7 BIOS for some time. Yet I still cannot get both batteries to charge (they are listed in Device Manager, however). Someone told me about turning the tablet off, putting it on charge and pressing a button combo, which they cannot recall - does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

Hello everyone,

most of the battery problems have been discussed already, but I could not find a thread discussing the battery draining when the device is turned off.

So yes, charging time is bad, the click discharges when it is powered on although it is plugged in, ... - but what really bothers me is the fact that my Click Mini loses its whole capacity in both batteries after about 30 hours even when it is turned of completely.

There has to be sth. I can do about this, right? This is really annoying as hell.

Have a nice week!

Hey folks,

After a month of owning Click 10, my primary battery (the one in tablet) shows 12,5% (it went up from 1% to 2% to 4,6% and so on...) battery wear, and secondary (the one in keyboard) shows 1% battery wear... Is there anything to do in order to re-calibrate the batteries and gain run time back? The BIOS is updated to version 1.7.

I've tried both charging it after it hibernates on low power and charging it as soon as it gets to 10-15% power, but no luck.

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to chose which battery to use when the tablet is connected to the base.
I'd rather use first the base battery (secondary battery) before the tablet one (primary battery).

Regards.

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B ; How to chose which battery to use ?

I found the origin of the problem, I'll leave the solution here.

The problem was in fact that the battery of the keyboard dock wasn't managed properly by the PC so when the tablet reached 0% battery the computer had to shut down even with a full 100% dock battery.
Trying to solve it via device manager wasn't enough and didn't work.
Updating the BIOS from v1.3 to v1.7 fixed the issue and now the dock battery is being used and prioritized over the tablet one as it should.

Hope it'll help.

I've recently purchased this device (September 15) and having upgraded to windows 10 and Bios V5.00 I find that if I fully charge both batteries and shutdown windows 10 (Not in standby) then both batteries are flat 3 days later when I come to use it again! it also takes over 10 hours to fully charge when powered off and over 24 hours if left running.

Can anyone confirm if this is normal? Or have I got faulty batteries or device?

Thanks in advance

hi all

Ever since the 1.70 BIOS update I've noticed some battery drain.
I left the device with the lid closed for 12 hours and battery charge dropped from 20% to just 3%.
i also noticed the two batteries give max 5 to 6 hrs compared with what used to be 10 to 12.

has anyone else noticed this?

thanks

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B battery drain

I left the device with the lid closed for 12 hours

Lid close does not mean that the device would be completely off.
If you want to shut off the unit, you have to perform a complete shutdown as described in this Toshiba document.

I have this laptop for about five months.

At first everything was working fine. But suddenly a problem appeared with the loading of the screen battery, no matter how long I charge it, it stays stuck at 80 percent. So I can only get 40% overall battery now...

Since one of the main reasons I bought this laptop was its long battery life, this is a big problem for me...

If anyone could suggest any fixes for this, it would be much appreciated!

I bought this back in October, upgraded the BIOS almost immediately and since then it has been very reliable in everyday use (now on Windows 10, 1511). However, during that period there has been the same power issue two or three times. While used on a laptop on battery power it shuts down completely for no apparent reason and cannot be switched on again with the power button. If then connected to the charger the switch operates normally and the PC reboots. The battery monitor shows the tablet at 2% (which should trigger a shutdown when used as a tablet) but the keyboard at ~ 100%.

This suggests to me a specific bug in the firmware or driver which is triggered by a particular set of circumstances, e.g. the battery switchover point happens to coincide with a timed change to sleep mode. Its annoying because apart from a possible loss of work it means I need to carry the charger even though the batteries will last all day.

Two questions. Has anyone else experienced this or seen it reported? Is there a simple way to inform Toshiba in the hope (!) that it might be added to a list of bugs to investigate?

Hi guys,

my unit came fully discharged which was quite annoying. So I charged up the tablet to 100% and the keyboard battery was at the time reading 100% charge. Applied the bios update 1.70 and after boot the keyboard battery was showing at 0%. It will now not charge, the tablet is at 100% and Windows reports battery 2 is charging but it stays at 0%.

There is a high pitched electrical whine coming from the keyboard dock? Could it be a faulty battery? Or is it so deeply discharged it will not charge again?

Thanks in advance

Answer:Battery issues with brand new Satellite Click Mini

If the keyboard battery is deeply discharged, you have to keep the AC adaptor connected for at least 24 hours…

But the high pitched electrical whine coming from the keyboard dock sounds really strange…
I can imagine that there is some lose connection or an hardware issue…

Anyway, tablet must be connected to AC adaptor and docked to the keyboard dock while charging… please also ensure that the tablet is powered OFF (press and hold the power button 10-15 sec in order to power off the tablet)

I've got my click mini for a day and the battery of my tablet is empty, while the battery of the keyborddock is still 100%.
The click mini says i need to charge it. Why can't i use the battery of the keyboarddock?

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B - tablet battery is empty

Please check your BIOS version.
There is a new BIOS v1.7 which solves the issue with the keyboard dock battery charging status which was not recognized by Window system correctly.

You should also know that the battery
#1 refers to battery inside the tablet and the battery
#2 refers to battery inside the keyboard dock.
The battery status can be checked in the Windows Mobility Centre window.

When you use the tablet with the keyboard dock, the second battery pack (battery inside the keyboard dock) is the first source to provide power! It happens also that the battery could be deeply discharged
In such case it?s necessary to keep the tablet and keyboard dock charging for at least 24 hours.
The tablet must be connected to AC adaptor and docked to the keyboard dock.

Firstly, just to say that this is a great little device but I like many have experienced teething problems during battery recharge.

My bios is is greater than v5, ie v5.2 now.
My experience in Nov 2015 was of battery number two not charging. It seemed to be something to do with the tablet connection, as on a few occasions just unclipping and reclipping seemed to then allow battery two to charge.

At this stage I will say that I primarily use the device like a mini laptop, rarely as a tablet, so am not generally clipping and unclipping the tablet all the time. For a while after it kept charging ok, no unclipping etc, all was well. Then I fitted a leather case, having to unclip the tablet to do so.

This triggered the battery numbr two no charge again. However after several unclips and reclips, plus a power off button sequence (as many have said before) my loveable Toshiba seemed fine at recharching both batteries again. Just a few days ago, though it went back into no charge of battery two mode. I wondered if the leather case was causing a slight uncoupling of the tablet to keyboard body and so removed the leather case, and unclipped and reclipped tablet and keyboard once again, this did not sovle the charging problem.

However closing down from the side power button and restarting several times seems to have solved the problem, again, perhaps only for the moment . . . I wait to see on my next recharge.

Also I have yet to see 12-13hrs available time shown o... Read more

My keyboard battery will not charge, I have left it charging for over 24 hours after battery 1 reached 100%.

I've checked the bios version which is 1.70. I've read other posts about this exact issue but unfortunately nothing is working for me.

It shows the charging symbol on battery 2 however it has not gone above 0%. If I turn it on the battery immediately drains from battery 1.

Please advise me on this issue as I will otherwise have to return my satellite click mini. Thanks in advance

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B Keyboard battery will not charge

Did you completely power off the unit?

Do that… press and hold power button until the unit would shut off.
Additionally you can shut off the unit pressing and holding SHIFT button and then choose SHUT OFF

Then check the connection between the keyboard docker and tablet… if necessary disconnect and connect it again.
After that power up the unit again and check the battery charging status connection the AC adaptor to the device.

Having just bought a ClickMini to replace my trusty Libretto 100 there are a couple of things that I hope other users or forum experts can help me with.

1) does anyone know how to TURN OFF tapping to click on the ALPS 'mouse pad'. Having been used to a 'nipple' and proper click bars this 'feature' does not work well for me, giving false activations more often than I would like. Note that I have looked at the pad properties in Control Panel and, it appears from this, that tapping either is not active (which it is) or that it cannot be changed. Note also that the ALPS driver is up-to-date having downloaded from the Toshibs website without effect on my problem.

2) how can I display the status of both the battery in the tablet section and that in the keyboard dock? Several folk refer to doing so, or seem to, in the threads below but I cannot find any way of doing so. Your help and advice will be valued.

Finally, although new to this forum and with a new machine, I am far from a Newbie in PC computing terms having bee using compurters in various guises since before the IBM PC was invented. So I am far from being inexperienced and unable to read between the lines of an instruction manual, indeed I have written many myself!

Hoping someone out there can help, yours aye

Puchased my Satellite Click Mini about three weeks ago from Amazon in the UK. Extremely happy with it up till now. After three weeks of overseas business trips in Asia I just noticed that the back of the tablet section/screen is bulging out slightly where I think the battery is. It is visible under the right light conditions and can also be felt.

I've had an iPhone that had this problem before but I did not expect this to come up so quickly on a three week old machine. I've only been using the packaged adaptor to charge with but have also been using plug convertors for different regions where I have been travelling. Couple of questions..

1) Anyone else had this issue with the battery bulging out? Or am I just imagining this and everyone else's is also like this?
2) I'm not able to get back to the UK until sometime in December but really need this machine for work etc. If the battery is gone, will it be semi-safe to use until I can get this back to Toshiba?

Would love to hear anyone else experiences
.

Hi,

I just recieved my Satelite Click Mini a few days ago and there seems to be an issue with the battery in the keyboard.

When I received the laptop I fully charged it and all was fine. I have been using the laptop frequently and noticed today that the main battery was down to 3%. I assumed that the power would revert to the 2nd battery but it did not and shut down. I then recharged and powered it up however the charging seemed to stall at about 40%.

After checking the forums I thought that a bios update (to 1.7) would solve this however it has not and other issues have flagged up. The first battery charges very slowly and seems to stall at 70% the second battery is showing at zero percent (before update it was at 100%), it also states that its plugged in and not charging.

Also, and i don't know if this is linked, but I found it extremely hard to type in this forum as the screen is flickering and I have to wait after pressing each key. I have had to post this on another laptop.

Any help would be appreciated, I am worried this laptop needs to go back to the factory.

Many thanks

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B - Battery/Charging issues

There have been a few ideas thrown around here in the forum. Easiest thing to try at this time would be to leave the tablet AND keyboard plugged into the wall to charge overnight. If the notification centre is still showing that it's not charging you might have to try a (maybe several) cold reboot (hold down the power button for 5-10 secs while tablet is on) to try to fix it. I would also ensure that Windows Update is up to date.

I'd just like to pitch in just for sharing's sake that BIOS update 1.70 increased my batttery life immensely. I was having to charge the tablet every night, now I can go every other night.

Hi,

I have the following big problem with my Satellite Click Mini L9W-B - this happened already two times.

I suspect that this may be connected to some Windows 8.1 setting. It also may be it is BIOS related.

PROBLEM: if I leave the laptop in a sleep mode (by just closing the lid), then If I do not use it for some time (>10 hours) then after that I could not switch the laptop on - it simply does not respond to any keys including the power on button. It does not matter whether I connect the power or disconnect it, I still can not power on the laptop, also it does not matter whether I try it with or without the keyboard attached. BUT: the battery on back on the screen is warm ,so obviously the laptop has not been switched off completely and something (i.e. windows sleep mode or bios or something else) is preventing me to power it on.

The solution I have so far is to leave the laptop for a very long time disconnected (to drain the battery completely - it will not be warm any more!) and then connect the power and then it will be able to switch on. Alternatively, opening the screen cover and manually disconnecting the battery and then connecting it again also work. After that the laptop can be switched on and works fine.

Obviously it is not very good because to wait very long (several days!) or to open the cover is not really a good option when you need the laptop!

Can you help?

May be it is something to do with some power-saving features of Windows?

Many thanks!

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B - could not switch it on until battery is fully drained

There is a quick workaround instead of waiting for the battery to drain...

Hold down power button for around 20-30 seconds. That should hardware turn off the power completely allowing you to turn it on again.

Update the bios to the latest version and apply all windows updates after that, that may solve the sleep bug issue

Hi there, first-time poster/toshiba user here.....

So I got my click mini about 2 weeks ago......but from day one the battery doesn't seem to charge right.

The tablet battery would charge fine and would do so till a full 100%.

Then the keyboard battery would start charging and indicate that it is charging but it would only stay that way, the percentage levels for the keyboard battery would not go up.

The batteries combined would have a total percentage level of 51% and never higher. And when I unplug the charger the battery level in the tablet would start depleting. The keyboard battery would always show 0% whether plugged in or not.

I have updated to BIOS 1.6, did windows update, reinstalled to original settings and even tried out the 24hr continuous charge suggested here and also suggested by tech support but nothing has changed.

I'm kinda at a wits end with this as since I am living in Singapore I can't send it sent in to be repaired as its not under warranty here(they don't even have the hardware/software for it apparently) plus it'll cost me $150 just for them to look at it.

I was told by tech support when I first discovered the problem that BIOS 1.6 would solve the problem. But it has not.....and kinda weird too that they removed BIOS 1.6 update just a few days after releasing it.

Kinda frustrated coz I really like the laptop(perfect for on-the-go/travel).

Can a mod please explain why all my posts complaining about the fact that Toshiba can't fix the well-known Click Mini keyboard battery problem have been removed?

Caveat emptor, it would appear that not only does the product not work as advertised but all attempts to engage to get this fixed and to alert the community seem to be censored, too...

Answer:Satellite Click Mini - BIOS and keyboard battery problem

Please try this (worked for me)

Turn off laptop fully by holding down the power button

Place it in charger.

test to see whether or not it is fully turned off by quickly tapping the power button once. You should see two battery indicators.

Wait until the top one has charged..

When you see that the charge indicator is on the second battery, this will unfortunately not charge it... however..

tap the power button quickly to see the two indicators.

Quickly remove the charger plug from the laptop (not from the wall) and reinsert it back

Then wait...

After 20 minutes feel the charger on the wall.. if it is warm, then it is charging the keyboard battery...

Use Bios 1.7 or 5 before doing this (I tried it on bios 5)

Hi, I've bought the Click Mini and have been setting it up for my personal use today. However I noticed the keyboard battery isn't charging. I have upgraded the bios to version 1.7. What I see now is that the Tablet is charged, which is good, but the keyboard is 'charging' according to windows, but it also only stays at 0%, thus not charging for real. I do also hear a high pitched noise coming from the keyboard when it is trying to charge. I have only tried to let it charge while it is in sleep mode so far. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hmm… if this issue didn’t appear from first day of purchase, then the battery docking issue might be related to battery fault.
In such case you will need to contact the service to fix it.

But just one question: is your BIOS up to date?
Check the update within the service station and in case of available new BIOS version; try to update the BIOS to the latest state.

Hey.

Basically my laptop has two issues at the moment. The minor one is that the left mouse button occasionally doesn't work, but the more pressing issue is that the battery doesn't charge up any more. The thing works when plugged in, but it just displays as "plugged in, not charging". Having tried the only software troubleshooting I found, I can only assume it's a hardware issue.

Thing is, my laptop is out of warranty now. So would these faults require the machine to be pulled apart or not? I'm just trying to work out costs in regards to what level of service it will require.

Thanks for reading!

Answer:Satellite C650D - Battery refuses to charge + left click issues

I also believe there is some hardware problem (power supply electronic).
Try please to start notebook with AC power supply only (battery removed) and wait until Windows is fully loaded. Put battery inside and check if the same will happen again. Please let us know what happen exactly.

I don?t know if you must use notebook with battery power supply. If not it is not so important.
I have old A300 and my battery is not recognized properly but I don?t care about it because I use it on the desk with AC power supply only.

I had purchased this device from amazon. Below is a brief history and the issues with the dock battery.

Initially turned the tablet on (while connected to dock) - Took over 30 minutes to charge it. I assume this was because of the battery being discharged. (Thankfully it did eventually start charging)In Windows 8.1. the dock battery was showing as 100% and the tablet battery was rising as it was being charged. The 100% seems to have been an issue with the installed bios on the machine (Which was showing 100%, when it was empty in reality)Updated the bios to V5. Now the dock battery was showing as 0%.Upgraded to windows 10

No amount of charging would charge the keyboard battery. Once the tablet was at 100%, it would give the status of "not charging" for battery 2.

I tried the following

Kept the device connected overnight on 2 occasions (But bear in mind this was for around 10 hours only) - perhaps 24 hours may do the trick? but could not do this as I did not want to risk keeping a device charged while I was at work. Will try this in the weekend.Turned off the device fully and then charged overnight (This would show the two status indicators for the batteries and did show a charge icon next to the second battery, but no change in battery status)Attempted to remove the dock battery. kept it removed (took out connection to circuitboard) for 30 minutes, then reconnected it to the tablet and power, but no change.Attempted to power the device via low powered u... Answer:Toshiba Satellite Click mini - Dock battery dead on arrival

Ok partially solved the issue via dismantling the device.

I pried open the tablet taking care not to break the ribbons that are connected to either side.
Swapped the batteries over.
Put the tablet on charge (with the fully depleted battery)
it started charging (power adaptor also got warm)
Left it for an hour or so (was then at 55% battery life)
swapped back the batteries

The issue still here is that when the tablet is fully charged 100% and in the keyboard dock. I assume the keyboard dock will then get charged. Unfortunately it is mentioning.. Not charging....

My son has just purchased a Satellite P850 laptop to use for school work and gaming and has noticed a problem with the behaviour of the touchpad.

When using the touchpad, if you have one finger in the area of the touchpad used for mouse movement, and then try to click the right hand mouse button, the laptop behaves as if you clicked the left mouse button. If you click the right hand mouse button when you are not touching the mouse movement area, it behaves correctly.

We have tried changing various touchpad settings but have not been able to correct this problem. We have also updated the drivers for the touchpad to the latest version from the Synaptics website, but the problem still exists.

Is there a particular driver or setting that gives the correct behaviour of the right hand mouse button whilst still touching the touchpad with the other finger?

Answer:Satellite P850 - Right click on touchpad acting like a left click

> When using the touchpad, if you have one finger in the area of the touchpad used for mouse >movement, and then try to click the right hand mouse button, the laptop behaves as if you clicked >the left mouse button
Sorry but I use touchpad too but in moment when I use one of the touchpad buttons I don?t touch touchpad area at this moment. I have two Toshiba notebooks and I tried to test this on both of them but none of them react on the way described in your posting.

As far as I know such behaviour can be result of ?confused? touchpad.
>... when you are not touching the mouse movement area, it behaves correctly.
In my opinion it is the right way to use touchpad correctly. I don?t think you can change anything using some other touchpad driver. Preinstalled driver is tested and I think the right one.

My Satellite C660D-1EN has its USB port thats not picking anything up but the things it wont pick up work on a different computer an also my left mouse button is not working.
It's acting as a right click.

Answer:Satellite C660D-1EN - USB don't work /left click acting as right click

Hi

How about deleting the USB ports/hubs and controllers from device manager?
Did you try that?

In device manager expands the USB controllers and delete all devices available there.
Furthermore you need to reboot the notebook to ensure all USB devices would be recognized again.
I had some problems with USB ports too and this method helped !

Hi all,I replaced my power supply to upgrade from 250w to 480w.  I carefully unplugged the old and re-plugged the new (after unplugging power source) and when I confidently turned everything back on the hard drive seems not to work.  there's a faint beep but I'm not sure if it's the POST beep or not.  (I have a vague understanding of that)Instead, the hard drive clicks quite clearly and it clicks 4x then pauses, then 4x, pause, etc, etc. I tried re-plugging the old power supply back in and get the same result.   The computer screen just stays blank the whole time.Did my hard drive just die at that point?   Could switching ps cause the hd to die?a few facts:I do touch the computer case before I stick my hands in there to remove static charge.HD is western digital caviar 40g  WD400Computer is 3ghz P4 running xp with sp3replacement power supply says it's for a P4 and it fits perfectly where the old one came out, same connections etc.I have a 160g drive on it's way from Ebay that I intended to replace this drive with anyway and I have the 40g drive backed up on an external so it's not a disaster but it sure is an inconvenience.I'm ready to try hitting it on the side (percussive maintenance) but thought I'd try a post first. :-)Thanks,John

Hi

I hope someone could help me with my problem.
My toshiba P200-1fc running Vista and updated to latest Bios will not show any light in the battery indicator led if running on battery power.
It's fine if i have it plugged into the mains.

I only updated the Bios to see if it sorted the problem .
The battery charges fine orange then blue to say fully charged but I only have the taskbar icon to see how much power is left.

Also the wife has got a U300 and the same problem has happend. I restored the laptop to a earlier time and this did not fix the problem.
I also unstalled some programs (antivius/firewall) but no joy.

It may be something simple i hope.
Thanks for any help

Answer:Satellite P200-1fc: battery led doesn't light if running on battery power

Sorry but you are completely wrong!!!

The battery LED doesn?t light if the AC adaptor was disconnected!!!

The battery LED shows only 2 signals; orange and blue (sometimes green on different models)

If the battery is not fully charged and the AC is connected the battery LED shows orange. If the battery is fully charged then the LED switches to blue (green)

Please don?t be mad at me but I think you should firstly check you user manual before posting some ?gossips? about any possible ?bugs??

Best regards and have a nice day dude ;)

I need help with a problem to do with either the driver or BIOS of a Toshiba A300.
I'm running Windows 7 and lately I've been having a message saying 'Consider replacing battery'. I know this is a well known problem.

There should be a workaround otherwise Windows 7 has drained my battery.

Answer:Satellite A300: Win7 shows battery message - Consider replacing battery

Hi mate

Please check this Toshiba document:
+Notfication in the battery meter of Windows 7 "Consider replacing your battery".+
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB0302U30000R01.htm

According to Microsoft this message is correct and the battery is really end of life (<40%).
There's no need to update the BIOS as discussed on several websites in the Internet.

For detailed information please refer to:

I have Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAG0E laptop.
Suddenly battery icon in my laptop started showing " There is a problem with your battery so your computer might shut down suddenly" .

Any idea why this has happened and what should i do?

What would be the price of new battery in USD?

Answer:Problem with Satellite A300 battery - battery icon shows error

Guest what: it?s the first time that I?m reading about such issue...
Of course I read many messages abut battery issues but I have never ever seen an error notification by battery icon.

You could try to recalibrate the battery.
Discharge the battery completely. Then recharge it to 100%. Repeat this twice!
Then check how the notebook works.

But you should know that sooner or later your battery would die and you would need to replace the battery.
You can get a 6 cell PA3534U-1BAS/BRS battery for about 70-90 Euros?

Hello

I just purchased a Satellite L775-15q and I want to know the best plan to charge my battery, so it can last as long as possible.
Should I leave the laptop always connected on the charger power cord, no matter if it has full battery or not? Should I always let the battery drop to 10% and then charge it up to 100% and then remove the cord? Or should I do that from time to time and not every day?

Thanks!

Answer:Satellite L775-15Q - Battery Charging plan for long battery life

Hi,

I think the best that you can do is discharge the battery two-three times a month not everyday.

I try to set apart my notebook(satellite 5205-s505) today. But I found the release latch had been damaged somehow. What can I do?

my lcd serious damaged. Can I have method to shut down the lcd to save power (just use external moniter)?

Answer:Satellite 5205-S505 - How to remove battery with damaged battery latch?

This with battery is very good question. I believe you are the first one who asked this.
If you cannot remove it the only way is, I believe, to disassemble whole notebook and somehow make the battery free.

When you use external monitor you should use FN+F5 key combination and switch to ?external monitor only?. Notebook?s LCD will be OFF.
You can also check advanced display settings. Usually there you can also find settings to define where the desktop should be shown.
Check it out!

Hi

For me it sounds like you have used not compatible, not supported or wrong battery.
But you could try to remove the battery and should fit it again in order to check if there are some loose contacts or something like that?

If this is not the case then get in contact with an local Toshiba ASP and order the battery which is recommended by Toshiba.

My L755 has always struggled with battery life. From new, it was only managing a little over one hour and it was no surprise when it booted up one day with an ugly red cross over the battery and a suggestion that I might like to consider replacing the battery.

I went to Amazon and bought a 'genuine brand new Toshiba battery'.
The battery arrived, it is the right part number, but I was immediately suspicious because the battery had stickers on it that did not seem correct and a manufacturing date in 2010.

The sticker that bothered me most stated that it might contain NiCad, NiMH or Li-Ion cells -
I am sure that Toshiba are more professional than to randomly build the packs.

Sure enough, when fitted to the laptop I get a flashing battery light and it shows no interest in booting up. Should I give it a few hours to charge and try again, or go straight to Trading Standards to try and get the cowboy supplier investigated?

Thanks

Answer:Satellite L755 - Battery Problem - Suspect phoney battery

Hi

Notebook should be able to boot up also if the battery is empty but connected to the AC adaptor.
If the battery is new, you should consider an longer charging. But as mentioned: even if its empty, the unit should power on and the battery should start to charge after the AC adaptor has been connected.

From my point of view and according to your message, it looks like the battery isn?t ok.
So would recommend to replace it.

By the way: I would recommend purchasing the battery from authorized Toshiba service partner in your country. In such case you can be 100% sure that such battery is an genuine product and compatible with your notebook. Many different internet reseller provide ?low budget? and ?low quality? batteries and sell such batteries as an ?brand-name? product / article.

Hi there, I've been having some weird battery problems over the last few days:

I had charged my laptop fully to 100%, and was then using it on the train on my way home (in Windows 7 64 bit), at which point I got it down to about 70%, shut it off normally, put it in my bag and left it there until I got home. When I got home, I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't turn on, and had the flashing orange battery light indicating it had no charge. I plugged it in and it worked like normal (in linux), so didn't think too hard about it.

Later on, I realised that the battery was still charging after longer than it should have been, and running the +acpi+ command (linux) told me the battery was +Charging, 0%, charging at zero rate - will never fully charge.+ I unplugged it to see if it worked, and the battery lasted like usual, although still reported it was at 0% charge rate.

I booted into Windows 7, and the battery reported it was at 68%, so I assumed it was back to normal. A while later I noticed it was still at 68%, despite having been plugged in for a while - at least an hour. Booting into linux, acpi showed normal looking battery data, except that it was "stuck" at 68%.

I unplugged the laptop and ran it like normal, and it ran until it cut out; I assume from it running out of battery. I plugged it back in and it is "charging" again, although it is still at 0% battery and "charging at zero rate".

Before all of this happened, the battery ... Read more

Hello there,

Let me try to resume the situation clearly enough.

Product : Toshiba Satellite A110-149

Works fine on AC adapter (just a resume from standby issue but that's because of Gentoo Linux, this used to work under Windows XP)

Original battery was dead. Not only didn't it charge but with both this battery and the AC adapter absolutly nothing happened, not a single LED on. No need to mention I couldn't turn the comp on.

Bought a new battery at AboutBatteries.com
- Replace: PA3465U-1BRS | 10.8V | 6600mAh (71Wh)

With this new battery in and the AC adapter plugged I have the power green led and the orange charging led on. But even after 8 hours and computer off the battery hasn't charged.
If I try to turn the comp on with this new battery in and the AC adapter plugged in it starts running but after a while it shuts down automatically, not matter wether I boot or enter BIOS.

BIOS is Phoenix v1.50 and I reset settings to default.
By the way, downloaded the last OS independent 1.70-WIN (bios-20090121162419.zip) but is there a way to update it without Windows?

I've tried to unplugged everything and press the power button several times (last try i kept pressing for more than 2 minutes for what that matters)

I've clean the contacts with alcohol.

Could this be because of a fuse or capacitor I could replace myself or something?

Any help would be appreciate.

Regards,
Charly

Answer:Satellite A110 Battery won't charge & won't run if battery is plugged in

Hi

I?m not quite sure what happened to the notebook but first of all you should know that notebook should power up and should run properly if the AC adaptor is connected.
The battery isn?t necessary in order to power up the unit if the AC adaptor provide the power to the notebook.

So if ONLY the battery would be affected, the unit should still run at mains.

Therefore I think its an serious hardware issue? for example motherboard problem.

Until one day the charger stopped charging on and off. I unplugged it a few times and then it stopped working. I let the battery die after. I am guessing that it stopped working because i may have screwed up the charger socket by tripping on the cord thus pulling on it im not really sure anymore. The laptop is in a bad condition, it's four years old i think but it can still run. The battery is the same not change. HELP ME for I am an *****

Hello,

I'm having issues with the left click of the battery tray icon. When I click on it nothing shows up. In Vista, it would show up a tiny little window similar to the network sys tray icon. The battery window would allow you to switch power profiles. However, there is nothing that shows up when I left click or left double click on the battery tray icon. This has been a problem ever since the upgrade to windows 7.
Here is a screencap of the icon I am referring to (it's the battery on the left):
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello BeingHuman, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You should be able to also right click on it and click on Power Options to select a new power profile as well for now, but you might see if restarting the computer may be able to restore the left click function.

Hope this helps,

Hello everyone,

I've just bought a Satellite U300 satellite and I hope you will forgive my ignorance, but I am new to the world of notebooks!

First, I would like to know whether it is better to use the notebook with or without the battery inside (I hardly move it from my desk). Some people tell me it is better to leave it inside, some say it is better to use the notebook without the battery so the battery's life will be prolonged and it will always be ready for use.

Second, what happens when I leave home for a couple of months or so? Should I leave the battery inside then or not, and what will happen to my data if the notebook remains switched off for such a long time?

Thank you all for your help, and sorry again for asking silly questions!

Bebecigim

Answer:Satellite U300 - battery or no battery?

All those questions are not silly and it is really interesting how many different opinions you can find about this. Maybe most of people will not agree with me but my opinion is that you must not remove the battery. Notebook manyfacturers use latest technology level and batteries used today are much better as from few years.

What you can do is to run from time to time on battery power supply. I do it once a week. Just remove AC power supply and continue to work on battery power supply.

If you want to leave your notebook for months only thing you should do is to shut the notebook down regularly using START > Shut down option. Remove AC adapter from electricity on the wall.
What will happen to your data? Nothing. After few months connect your notebook to the AC power supply, start your notebook and you will have access to all your data.
Just for example: I have external HDD with all my important data saved on it. I do not use it so often but all saved data are there.

I bought my laptop for over 1 year ago, and it worked fine, but the main problem is my battery. The laptop was delivered with a PA3615U model battery.
Now the battery resist only for max. 15 minutes, and when I boot into linux (Ubuntu) I recieve a notification message that tells me the battery is damaged or empty, and it's working only at 30% of the capacity.

Maybe I used the laptop and battery in a wrong way, I'm fully aware of this, but I tried to find the same model of battery over the interet but what I found was available only in africa (preety far from where I am) and on one local site it was saying that this type of battery isn't producing no more. Is it true? If so, what other batteries are compatible with my laptop?
Where can I buy a new battery compatible with my laptop near my country?

It's a perfect fit, tablet fits very snugly when zipped up. Inside the case is a stand that folds out which you could cut out with scissors but the tablet fits anyway so I haven't bothered, plus it adds extra padding.

Hope this is of some help to others. Purchased mine from Amazon UK for ?2.95 but i'm sure it's available from other sellers worldwide.

Good afternoon,

I brought my device second hand, when I initially turned it on it worked okay but decided to reset back to factory defaults for security reasons.

Since the reboot the touchpad, keyboard and touchscreen are unresponsive. Also the sound does not work!

The system was originally Windows 8.1 but automatically installs Windows 10, I think this may be the issue?

Many thanks,
Lee

Hi.
I own a Toshiba L500-A-1EF and although the touchpad works properly, cursor moves, one tap acts like a click, etc, the click itself is not working.
I've tried updating the Synaptics drivers and playing around with the touchpad settings but sadly with no results.
Can someone help me?
Many thanks.

Suddenly last week any attempt to open an app or 'settings' or 'power' the laptop freezes/hangs. Nothing will clear it. it happens every time. i have to shut down by holding the power button down for an extended period. if I try to restart, same issue. Anyone any ideas?

Answer:Satellite Click 10 freezes/hangs

Please note todays date - 2 months after previous posting.

Tosh repair people found a faulty main board, two main boards later still not working also replaced screen and two other items.
Tosh headquarters refunded my money. Note, this model now listed as 'discontinued' and Tosh laptops not available to domestic users.

Sad as they have been good for me over the last 26 years. Have to look for something else now.

I've had my Click Mini for about six months and have had quite a few issues with it. Most of them seem to be software/driver related. I downgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1, which did fix some of the problems. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced any of these issues:

- Wifi will randomly disconnect, even when actively using the laptop. You have to manually disconnect from the wifi network and reconnect. This happens with multiple wifi networks. Other devices connected to the wifi networks do not have the issue. Downgrading from Windows 10 to 8.1 didn't fix this problem.

- Other times, wifi will not connect at all when resuming from standby and you have to reboot the device to connect again. This happens with multiple wifi networks. Other devices connected to the networks do not have the issue. Downgrading from Windows 10 to 8.1 did fix this problem.

- Sometimes, when resuming from standby, the screen is blank. The backlight comes on, system notifications appear, but the screen is blank. You have to attach the keyboard and press CTRL+ALT+FN+DEL to get the login window to appear. Downgrading from Windows 10 to 8.1 did fix this problem.

- Metro apps will randomly stop working. They suddenly won't load. You have to reboot the laptop to get them to work. I think downgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 fixed this problem, but then I never used Metro apps in Windows 8.1!

- Cameras work intermittently. E.g. Open Skype and see yourself in the camera. Star... Read more

Answer:Satellite Click Mini Issues

This will not help you but I have been using a Click Mini for many hours a day for the past 6 months without any of the problems you describe. For information:
- upgraded to Win 10 immediately and to the new 1511 build in January
- I rarely use it as a tablet, always as a laptop
- using standby will always drain the battery, hibernate works fine and I use it all the time
- battery charging is limited by the micro USB spec but it is essential to use the original charger AND cable
- I mostly use all day on battery and charge it all night but agree the battery life is NEVER 12 hours
- there is a problem with the camera drivers in both Win 8.1 and 10 (for a Win 10 fix see https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread....camera-problem)

Regardless of Win 8.1 or 10, if you do a clean install it is essential to apply all the Toshiba drivers and software that is in their standard builds (ie restore disks). The various Toshiba web sites are inconsistent and you will not always find everything you need in one place. In particular there is a large set of downloads for the upgrade to Win 10 (see my post #4 in https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread....0-installation).

The early versions of the BIOS were very buggy and it is essential to upgrade to 5.20 if you have not already done so. Even this still has a serious bug with the battery selection which can causes a crash and apparent inability to power on. If it happens and you don't know the BIOS is the cause there appears to be a hardware faul... Read more

Hi there,

we cannot claim the office 365 subscription after the system has been recovered - the installation tile for Office is not available after the recovery. The way to download the installer as described in the post below with an Microsoft Account does not work, because Office was never activated or installed before we did the recovery:

http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD5703RX0000R01.htm

Is there any way to get the Installer for Office back, so we can activate the subscription?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1NL running on Windows 8.1. I am trying to disable the tap to click option on the track pad, as I find it is way to sensitive causing increased frustration.

I searched Google and it says there is an option to turn of track pad, but when I go into my settings the turn off option is the only one missing? Is there a way I can turn off tap to click as it is driving me mental.

Answer:Satellite L50-B-1NL - How do I disable tap to click on touchpad?

If I understand you right you want to disable whole touchpad, right.
You can do this using FN+F5 key combination or using F5 key only.

Please open user?s manuals and check page 58. There you and find very useful info about usage of F keys.

It's over heated does anyone know what I can do to fix it or if it fixes itself once it cools down it won't go on for two days and it just lights up the screen them black again I was sitting next to the heater and it just turned of I didn't realise that would happen because I always sat next to the heater with my other laptop and it has never happened before

Answer:Satellite Click-Mini L9W-B - overheated

Could be a damaged tablet. Try holding down the power button for 30 seconds, then try turning on again or/and reinstall windows

this is my second satellite click mini L9W -B in one week the first was returned to the retailer and exchanged due to connectivity and boot up problems

this one would not wake up from sleep mode on it's second day, yesterday - i have left it charging overnight and today it will not boot up at all

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B will not power up

no replies here
no replies from tech support, so i read other threads.....

1) there has been a problem with battery charging on this model, some people have found that Bios 1.7 update solves the problem
so, on my faithful old laptop i found it and downloaded it to a memory stick

2) another thread here suggested charging only the tablet part of this model, then starting it without the keyboard - after a long charge this worked, so i downloaded the Bios update from my memory stick

now i'm writing this on my click mini and i am waiting to see if the update has fixed the problem

if yo have any other ideas, suggestions or solutions please let me know here - i can't say this is solved until i have run down the batteries a few times, so i will post again in this thread

I don't know how to change the setting so that I can have a traditional right click on the touch pad.

I know that you can press with both fingers to do some functions like a right click, but when I am using Microsoft word or Facebook I cannot figure out how to right click a misspelt word and see how its spelt. When I right click a work in word or facebook the cursor changes to the scrolling.

Please help, it is getting really annoying taking a minute to figure out how to spell a word because I cant right click

Thanks!

Answer:Right click issues on Satellite P50T-B

Hello Thomas

In my opinion you should open all touchpad settings and learn how it works. There are so many different settings and touchpad usage can be defined by notebook user. You can disable all functions that you don?t like and change almost everything you want.

Please take a little bit time and check all this. Learn how it works.

If you still have some questions let us know.

This is a new one, I bought 2 weeks ago. Everything is fine but cd/dvd rom "clicks" in every 4-5 minutes.
Not open but click. Why? I scan with antivir, nothing...

It's a hardware failure or run something in background?

thanks

Sounds like this is partly due to the drivers for the keyboard and mouse not playing nicey. Have you tried booting without the keyboard dock and without any peripherals? You should be able to operate on touch only.

Press and hold the volume up button while holding the power button until the device turns off, then press and hold the volume up button and the power button. This will open up the boot menu and you should be able to go forward from there by touch. Then, once installation is complete, you should be able to download drivers that will take care of the dock problems.

You might also have something wrong with your installation media, maybe try re-installing the 8.1 Pro ISO onto your USB stick?

Hi

Recently got this model L9W-B from Toshiba and having used it for about two weeks noticed some issues if someone has come across please let me know

- the tablet part when connected to the keyboard has a huge lift and overall very poorly secured. wondering if this is the way it should be or the product is faulty

- both batteries had a 4% wear level from the box now up to 11% just after 6 cycles (now max capacity 17.2 vs 19.2 for each battery). is this normal?

- when the tablet part powered independently of the keyboard attaching the keyboard the system will not recognise the keyboard battery, only after a reboot the two batteries will be available

Overall a very nice product for a great price

thanks

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B issues

Hi anton

I’m not Click Mini owner but I watched some interesting youtube clips about this device.
It looks very nice to me and the fact, that you can use this device as tablet as well as a notebook, makes this device very attractive.

I saw the release button in the middle of the tablet. I could read in different comments that this button must be moved to “close” position to ensure proper stability.
Also the both guide pins must be inserted properly to secure physical connection.

I found also some info about the two batteries.
The battery #1 refers to battery inside the tablet
The battery #2 refers to battery inside the keyboard dock
The battery status can be checked in the Windows Mobility Center window.

When you use the tablet with the keyboard dock, the second battery pack (battery inside the keyboard dock) is the first source to provide power!
One battery provides 19.5Wh - two batteries 39Wh

Hi

I want to disable "Tap to Click" on my machine

I've tried going to Control Panel - Mouse - device settings - settings - buttons but the only choice there is "enable buttons" and if you uncheck the box you can't exit.

I put the Static Tray in the Task bar and if I right click the option "Tap to Click " is there but greyed out

Hey I bought a satellite mini three weeks ago and up until today it worked sufficiently.. I had been charging it all day. And would occasionally switch it on to check the second battery was charging. Note unfortunately it won't switch on at all. Anybody else have this problem or know where I can send it to get it repaired?

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B won't switch on at all

I've found that sometimes you have to hold the power button for well over 5 seconds to power it on. I hold it down until you see the screen back light come on faintly. A quick press shows the charge status.

Hi all.

I have a P70-A08S with which is an most pleased.
There are, however, two concerns that have been there since it came out of the box - one is a terrible keyboard which I'm dealing with.

The other is frequent irregular clicks and pops from the sound card.

It is not the speaks because it happens with headphones. It also happens if I take sound out via USB. Is there any software issue that could be causing this - ie, in the drivers.

Is the sound in this laptop on a separate card or is it on the main board?
MIDI processing, sound and video production are among the reasons I have this laptop, so this is significant to me.

Answer:Click/pop from sound card on Satellite P70-A08S

> It is not the speaks because it happens with headphones. It also happens if I take sound out via USB. Is there any software issue that could be causing this - ie, in the drivers.

To be honest I cannot imagine what clicks or sound pops you are meaning.
Fact is that windows system creates and produces different sounds depending on the system event. For example a sound would appear starting windows OS, logging off or even receiving mails, checking for viruses or other events etc?

This setting can be found and changes / disabled in control panel -> sound -> sounds tab

By the way: the sound card is part of the motherboard and I guess its Conexant sound chip.

So my keyboard is broken, and is being sent back, but Im unsure if I want this replacement. :(

Speed is great, style is excellent and looks nice in general, but my biggest problem is the mouse click. When the laptop is closed/shut, and when it is in my bag, i can hear it clicking with the slightest pressure applied in the mouse area. So I'm asking if anyone would be so kind to let me know if this is a toshiba problem on all their Satellite T130 or if i just managed to get a dodgey version.
If you have one, could you just please try it out :)

Seems louder on the RHS, only had it two days so. Could be "breaking it in", but it takes a considerably harder force to hear it on the LHS, but RHS is very very annoying.

Hope that made sense, :D
Help really appreciated.
Thanks
Will

Answer:Satellite T130-15F - Can still hear the click when closed

Hey

In my opinion you should tell this the guys from authorized service provider. I don?t know which clicks you mean exactly but I think it?s not a normal behavior.

I have Satellite T110 that is similar to yours and it?s working great! I couldn?t notice any problems, everything works properly. It?s really great notebook series from Toshiba and especially for mobile usage. :)

There is no option to disable it on this laptop, I have searched for the answer online but nothing, there seems to be no way to do it on this model of laptop. I tried downloading the new touchpad driver from this site but had absolutely no effect and gave me no more options to disable it, it changed nothing. Completely stuck now and its driving me crazy!

The mouse also clicks on its own randomly even when Im not touching it, always seems to get bad when im gaming.

I still want to use the touchpad to move the pointer around, just don't want to use it to click.

Answer:How do i disable tap-to-click on Satellite C660/C660D?

On my Satellite S50-B is installed ELAN software and tapping option can also not be disabled.

Explanation: one finger tapping always performs Point/Click/Select function, which is equivalent to clicking the left mouse button.

It is really strange that this option doesn't exist.

Anyway, if you don't need touchpad in general you can enable/disable it using Fx button (don't know exactly which one on this notebook model).

Hi !

I have a similar problem with my Notebook Toshiba Satellite A200 but the speakers are working well. I can hear a "click" as the speakers would switching on (and they really do that).

This only occurs when I use the computer on battery and I choose the "normal usage" power plan. This not occurs anymore if I switch to a power supply or if I choose the "High performance" power plan.

The problem is that the speakers seems to enter in stand-by after 30 seconds inactivity. I tried to change the PCI express power option but it didn't change anything. I can't find the power parameter to keep the speakers always on. Any idea ? This is very annoying...

Operating System : Windows Vista Home Premium.
Speakers : Realtek.

Thank you for any help.

Answer:Re: Satellite A200 makes "click" sounds

I've never heard of speakers going into standby mode if no music is playing the amplifier should be in an idle state anyway.
It's possible you're picking up noise from the mic input jack which is very sensitive to electrical activity.
As a suggestion try muting the Mic from the sound mixer and see if that helps.
