Invalid root in registry key, very slow computer and typing is slow

Question: Invalid root in registry key, very slow computer and typing is slow

I get the following pop up every morning when I start my computer:

Line: 1
Char: 78
Error: Invalid root in registry key
HKCU\software\pdqg\ysssfcv
Code: 0
URL:

This is followed by a notepad with a log and I have to exit twice before the popups stop. I also get warnings that Acrobat cannot finish its update. This has been going on for a few months. In addition, my keyboard will delay typing 5-10 seconds or type multiples of the same letter. This makes Copy and Paste functions very difficult to do. I change my batteries in the wireless keyboard often to rule that out. I am not very tech savvy but try my best and can usually figure my way out of a problem, but this one has stumped me. At the end of each day I run CCleaner and usually have 5-600 GB that is cleared up. I then restart the computer and don't turn it off so that our server can run its backup. I do notice that if I don't do CCleaner my computer is extra sluggish.

Here is my FRST log:

Preferred Solution: Invalid root in registry key, very slow computer and typing is slow

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me. My computer starts kind of slow, and I feel like it is running a little slow also. I thought it would be a good idea to un-check some of the start-up things after going into misconfig, but I do not know what any of the items are. Is there an easy way to make my computer start faster. Also, when I am on the computer, I hear the tower making noise like it is doing something, as though there was some kind of background process going on that I don't know about. I am running McAfee and I am pretty sure I do not have any kind of virus. Please help.

Answer:start slow, runs slow and makes noise when I am simply typing on computer

Oh Yeah, I am running windows XP that came with the computer a year ago when I bought it. It has an 80 gig hard drive and I think 1 gig of memory. Thanks in advance to anyone's response.

Okay, here's my prob. When I reboot my computer, it stalls on the Welcome screen and I have to hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete to get it to load to the desktop. After doing that, I get a lovely little grey box popping up that says the following:

Script: C:\Windows\update911.js
Line: 8
Char: 1
Error: Invalid root in registry key "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Start Page"
Code: 80070005
Source: WshShell.RegWrite

How do I go about fixing this so my computer will boot up properly again??

Thanks,
-- Joy

Answer:Invalid root in registry + update911.js ?

I found this: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojstartpagc.html

You can do further virus scans here:

Symantec:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com

Trend Micro:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

And post a Hijackthis log for further analysis after the scans:

Hi-
I'm getting a pop up on a friend PC, a script error with the Error text "Invalid root in registry key "HKCU\software\classes\clsid\[some long number]\localserver32\a

I've run MBAM and HitManPro64, with no relief, and the popup continues.
We're running Panda Cloud Office Protection, and nothing seems to be triggered in that.

Are we infected? What should I do to get rid of this pesky popup?

Thanks for your help...

Possibly ZeroAccess rootkit. Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. My problem is that I seem to have a root kit, amongst other problems... MBAM has been run multiple times and the silly thing keeps coming back. This little guy "netsik.sys" seems to be part of the problem, but what do I know! Thanks in advance for your help

Long story short, I got really sick and was unable to pursue the posting of the issue. Big issues with FIrefox, wont let me download the programs and was unable to post them in desktop. Was able to do all this with IE. BTW when the Microsoft music plays at the beginning and end of use it sound like a broken record. The system is very slow, freezes and many times just turns itself off.

Hey there, I am having issues on my HP Netbook. Lately it has been running pretty slow. So I have run the required "Read and Run this first" files and everything went smoothly except for Root Repeal. Thanks for any help and guidance with this issue.

Thanks!

I have a Dell Precision T5400 with dual quad core (2.29 GHz) processors with 16GB of ram and I am running a 64 bit version of windows 7 ultimate. I have only had the computer about 6 months but I haven't really had problems with it, just upgrading it to the way I want it.

The problem just started a couple of days ago and I thought it was maybe because I had been putting off installing "Tune Up Utilities" on it. That program seems to work wonders on getting everything to run smoothly after a full operating system install and all the programs you want installed all at once along with it, not to mention drivers, updating media player, internet explorer, installing flash player, etc., you get the idea.

Mainly it started most with all the ads completely covering the pages on Ebay. I thought Ebay just went crazy selling ad space for profit but this is too much. In my opinion the amount of ads will adversely affect the main purpose of Ebay since they cover most of the important information about the items for sale and their descriptions . Also, whole new ad pages are popping up almost every time I click on a link but instead of going where I should it pops up another full page ad to have to get rid of. Another problem that has been getting progressively worse is the slow typing. I finally fixed Explorer to surf the internet by resetting everything to factory presets but the pages are so slow to load and even after loading they don't want to scroll up and down... Read more

Answer:Computer wants to run so slow, especially in browser and typing

You are rightly concerned about malware infection so you need to start running scans to check this out. Which security programs are installed and have you run full system scans? SAS anti spyware and Malwarebytes are good free scanners worth downloading and running. This is a priority because the sooner you are onto malware and virus problems the better the chance of removing them.

I don't share your enthusiasm for Tune up Utilities and would uninstall it but you've probably paid a hefty subscription for the year. CCleaner is a useful free utility worth looking into but firstly check thoroughly for possible infection.

I thought this started by opening a link on a news site, but I'm not sure now where it came from. Quick rundown- Was on wifi at work and noticed my computer became VERY slow. After numerous scans with MBAM and SAS, I found quite a few trojans, but even though all programs showed they were destroyed, the problem still continues. I posted a new thread in BC, and had some suggestions, but I'm still infected. Last night, I noticed that my AVG was turned off and I couldn't get it turned back on. Also, any Windows security program was turned off, including Windows Firewall, and I couldn't get it to come back on. I was able to download Avira and Comodo Firewall, but I'm still having issues. Here are the three results after the recommended scans.

I am finding that lately my typing and mouse clicks in IE6 are delaying in showing up, and delayed when I click. I ran a virus check and got rid of some stuff that showed up eg RUNDLL16.exe, and some other things that created a w32 folder . Apparently, this stuff came from Kazaa and possibly IRC. I think it came from a Nero cd burner proggy that i d'led but it didnt ever install but came up as one of the folder infected.

Anyhow, I am still seeing delayed stuff with my win98 machine.

PLEASE HELP!!! I will send you a real live girl of your choice if you do!

Hi, I have an XP. It is 4 years old. It has become painfully SLOW lately.

SO I deferred to old notes and found a reply some time ago that if my computer is slow, ... to fix my registry.

So I looked in ALL PROGRAMS, and found what is called RegistryFix V6.2 (unregistered version) so I started the scan processs.

After scanning, I am told there are 652 errors and is asking me to PROCEED TO PURCHASE --- something. Waaaa (?)

I thought this was free? Seemed it only fixed 28 items.

BTW, I have Comcast so I believe I have the backup of McAfee security.
I cannot afford to purchase anything ELSE at this time.

ANY INFORMATION, help please. I am a computer moron.

Thanking all of you in advance.

I started a topic in the virus section and they have directed me here. They said that i am all clean on that end and beleive i might have a soft or hardware conflict. I am fixing this computer for a friend and it has Fixcleaner installed. Im not sure if it could have changed the registry or not. I have received several errors, i am not sure if they apply here..

While i was trying to close out some open windows. Windows stopped responding and the screen went black. Now i have a pop up that says " Logon process has failed to create the security options dialog. Failure - Security Options "

Windows Explore stops responding frequently.

I have also had a pop up at the bottom of the screen came up and said... Mswinext.exe was a corrupt file

The computer freezes often and i have to restart it. I think there might be to many processes running.
I did run SFC and this is the log it gave me:

Answer:Computer is slow, Maybe a registry issue

Try running the chkdsk /r equivalent.

http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-vista/how-to-use-check-disk-in-windows-vista/

If it is unable to overcome damaged system files...and you've run sfc properly (with disk), then I'd say an attempted repair is your only alternative, before going to a clean install.

Before I did either...I would run a hard drive diagnostic.

This computer is an antique, so it has always been a bit slower than I am accustomed to, but it has gotten slower than before. I keep the programs to a minimum, and do regular spyware/adware removal as well as regular maintenance. Recently, however, my antivirus stopped working. Attempts to get it to work again brought up an error message (see photo) and working with Avast support elicited the information that there was a problem with my registry.
Have attached some screen shots that I am hoping will help in case I haven't described the issues well enough:

Answer:Computer very slow, possible registry problem

I hope you didn't pay for avast's third party support and let them take control of the computer. The first thing they do is tell you there are problems in the registry.

The first problem is you are still running XP SP2. You should update that to SP3. I would download SP3.

Before installing it I would clean the computer of all temp files, defrag the disk and then uninstall avast.

Too clean the computer of temp files, click start > Run and type %temp% . Do this for each account on the computer. If you do not have it, install CCleaner and do a cleanup. Do not use the registry cleaner.

If you updated to the latest version of avast which is 2015 that could be a problem too.

After installing SP3 you will have quite a few security updates to download.

Having SP2 on the computer opens you up to all kinds of security problems. In fact, support for XP has ended and no additional security updates will be given.

Okay...In December of 2008 I bought an eMachines laptop (I know off brand) but it was on Black Friday for $395. Anywho, I bout an external hard drive for more space from Overstock.com. When I plugged the external hard drive into my computer and this Memeo backup thing would pop up and so eventually I uninstalled it and my computer started acting crazy, it (computer) began to run slow and when i ran Norton it did not...So I download Spybot and it did nothing and then i read on the internet about these registry problems that may surface so I downloaded and bought StopZilla (regretted it) and it showed me the errors and said it deleted or handled the problems but it did not so now I heard on tv and internet about RegCure...what was I thinking...I paid for it without reading the complaints and the problemware says this:

C:\Users\Antoine\Desktop\RegCure1.htm

The File/Path References stays infected as well as the empty register keys. I fix errors but they come back. Please help:

Hi guys,

With the help of bleepingcomputer assistants, I recently removed a virus/rootkit that was on my computer. Since then, I have noticed that my computers runs slower than it had before. I ran a scan using GMER and noticed two registry lines that seemed off.

Reg HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler\[email protected]{116ddb73-2ae1-47df-97c6-3b842b9168b5} jugezatag
Reg HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad\[email protected] {116ddb73-2ae1-47df-97c6-3b842b9168b5}

That was taken from the GMER log. What is especially odd is that if I go into Regedit, and pull up either of those two registry, ......AutoRunsDisabled, there is nothing in the registry!

Any ideas

Answer:Slow Computer & Odd Activity in Registry

Well, I didn't get any replies so I decided to try and tackle the problem by myself. I loaded up RegEdit.exe and found the AutorunsDiabled registry entry in the appropriate location. I noticed that when I right clicked on this entry and chose permissions, there was no entry in the security tab. So, I gave myself permission (chose add, and added my username). Once I gave myself permission, the registry entries within the folder became visible. I deleted them. So far, my computer has been running better. I will update if there are any stability issues.

For some odd reason, in the past 4 weeks, my streaming video has become VERY slow, and I do not know why. I have a high-speed cable connection, the same I have had for the past 6 months. It is slow, sound-with-stil-images and/or constantly rebuffering, and this is true with WIndows Media, Winamp, Realplayer and even Flash videos (on YouTube for example). I cannot take it anymore. I tried this Hijackthis thing, and this is my log:

I recently ran a registry cleaner and I think it might have deleted some necessary items because right after I restarted the computer, it was extremely slow. I have rebooted several times, and the computer stays the same. I have tried a system restore many times, but it tells me that the computer cannot be restored to this date and time.

Is there a program or something I can use to find out if I am missing any necessary components of my registry?

Answer:Computer Extremely Slow / Registry Problems

I would suggest trying a last good configuration, if this fails then you may have to use you XP installation to make a repair. Any time that you use a registry cleaning utility you should back up your registry first.

This is a seperate computer and not the same as a previous post I put up in this forum.
I'm guessing it could be a registry problem but I'm unsure as to if that would cause this type of slow down.
3 things which I've noticed:
Doesn't start up regularly - it asks for general start-up or restore (every time)
windows office genuine advantage error on start-up
Streaming video runs really choppy (Hulu or youtube type stuff)

Ran through the steps to try and speed it up from the usual scans (virus, malware, chkdsk, and defrag) to some of the physical stuff with cleaning out the insides. Still unsure as to what is going on. Tried to follow the proper procedures on the Preparation guide and Slow Computer threads. Thanks for any help and happy new year!

First noticed problem when Google Chrome no longer prevented pop-ups. One of the first pop-ups I noticed was Antivirus 360. Then Chrome stopped loading web pages. I reinstalled it which helped somewhat. It now crashes constantly. IE 7 works better. I installed AVG 8 which found 50 threats, but problem still exists. I ran HiJackThis 2.0.2. I tried deleting the following suspicious files "fedozuta.dll", "zajasuvu.dll" and others but they reappear. I tried starting up in safe mode and not connected to the internet and deleting the same files but made no difference. My Windows Restore Point no longer exists and Windows Update won't work.

Running older PC Clone 2.0 Ghz Dual CPU Pentium, 1GB Ram Win XP Home Edition system.

While navigation on Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, system runs extrememly slow and/or crashes. When using applications such as Itunes, Email, or simply opening up Word and other applications, it runs very slow and almost seems to stop. The IE7 that was on the computer had changed to an operate with add-ons off as a result of the infection. I downloaded and reinstalled IE7 and this seems to have fixed that problem for the time being. MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpy icons dissappeared from my desktop. When trying to use them from the Start / Menu options the programs no longer worked. I reinstalled them and they appear to work fine now. However, the system still seems to run very slow over all and its performance is greatly hindered.

Next, I ran free version of SuperAntiSpyware and all it detected was a couple Adware cookies. Secondly, I ran free version of Malware Bytes Anti-Malware and it detected PUP.GamePlayLab infections located in the Registry Key: HKLM\SOFTGWARE\Microsoft\Windows.... These files were removed and quarantined by MWB. Thirdly, I ran Old Timer's TFC and then rebooted the computer and it appeared to run a little faster, but still sluggish while using IE7. So, finally, I ran ESET Free Online Scanner, and it detected "Win32/Toolbar.Babylon and Win32/TopMedia.a" virus infections. Scan took about 2 1/2 hours. I set it to search the drives/ar... Read more

I've had this problem in the past and ran the registry fix from Kelly's Korner, but this time I get an error pop up saying the Registry editor has been disabled by administrator...

How do I 'unlock' or allow this to run?

Answer:My Computer Opens slow. Registry Editor Locked by Administrator?

Try to do this tip:

Type gpedit.msc in RUN dialog box and goto:

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System

in right-side pane, set "Prevent access to Registry editing tools" to either Not Configured or Disabled.

If above tips is not working try this tip:

Go to “Start >> Run”

Type this command exactly as given below (add this in single line)

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

I'm running Free Windows Registry Repair. After finding and fixing thousands of errors, it keeps finding about 50. I'll fix and scan again, and most of the same ones come back, always around 50. I wiped and reinstalled XP a while ago. I've also cleaned out all non-essential stuff with CCleaner. It's still difficult just running one program, forget about multiple programs or games. Any ideas? I'm not getting a new computer or OS.

Answer:Continuously Recurring Registry Errors, Painfully Slow Computer

Every reputable tech support source I've ever read says don't bother with registry cleaners. They don't really do much in terms of improving performance, and they can seriously mess up your computer. Can you give a little more info on your computer, specifically how much RAM you have? Also do me a favor and look at your task manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Del) and tell me how many processes are running?

Answer:Help! Slow Computer, Slow Internet. Slow, Slow, Slow!

Hi MaryJane,Sorry for the delay, this forum is really swamped right now. I don't see any positive signs of malware in your log, although there is one thing that I am unsure about. I'll get to that in a minute. Before we do rootkit scans and use some other tools to confirm that malware is not the problem, let's do a quick check of resources.Press <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<Del> to open Task Manager, then click on the Processes tab. Place a check next to Show processes from all users. Note the numbers at the bottom, CPU usage should be running at 0 to no more than five percent if your system is idle (no background tasks running). If that is not the case, scroll down and see if any of the processes is running at a high percentage of CPU usage. On a normal system at idle the System Idle Process should show about 98 percent, meaning nothing else is using the CPU. The next columns to the right, memory usage and peak memory usage, may also show something out of line if one process is using a large amount of memory. If you see anything showing high CPU usage or high Memory usage, make a note of it.Now, click the Performance tab. The key numbers here are in the Commit Charge box -- The Total and Peak figures; and in the Physical Memory box, the Total figure. Make a note of these three numbers. I would like to see them, but I can tell you what I'm looking for: basically, any time the Commit Charge exceeds the total physical memory, Windows will have to constantly swap d... Read more

I'm running Windows XP with an AMD Sempron 2.0 ghz Processor with 700MB Ram.

Firefox takes up all this computer power(I know that this is more common with the updated Firefox's but in my case it's still to an extreme). Firefox will stay open after I close it and I will have to use Windows Task Manager to fully close. I've switched to Google Chrome and it is quicker.

Any Java usage slows the computer down incredibly. Even in Chrome it's slow. I can't switch between programs nearly as smoothly as before. Basically everything takes forever now and my computer seems to strain under the workload of what use to be basic usage.

I found two Trojans with Kaspersky Trial scan and I thought that fixed the problem(I eventually got rid of Kaspersky because it was making my slow computer even slower.) Unfortunately I never wrote down their names because my parent dropped me on my head frequently when I was a child.

I've run all the scans and nothing has come up(to my basic and infantile computer knowledge). One problem with the scans was the MGtools would open briefly and the window would only just flash and then dissapear and nothing would run. I blame mostly Jesus for this but Buddha in his infinite wisdom and humbleness has also taken some of the blame.

If you people could help me out that would be great.

sorry, if this not the right place please move. I did many google searches cant seem to find the issue Im having, or maybe lack of the right key searches. You guys are my last hope.
I will try to explain my problem as clearly as I can. And so sorry about my bad grammar and spelling, trying to post this asap.

first off give small history of my PC. I bought my PC new Sept 2001. A HP Pavilion with 1.3 ghz, 256ram, and a 55gig hard-drive originally came with WinMe, since then I upgraded to XP. I kept my PC case clean, didn't try to install programs my PC couldn't handle, didn't go to any sites that knew were bad with viruses and such also had Malwareytes/spybot/avast/hijackthis to use, didnt install any toolbars, and tried not to have many programs open at the same time. I basically kept my PC simple with use.

Anyways around June I noticed some odd slowdowns
While playing Winamp and running a torrent with speeds of more than 400+ the audio would become choppy. This also happen when I would open FF, IE or any program while running Winamp, the audio would be choppy.

Extracting 700mb files from Winrar would take around 8mins

Playing Youtube, WMP, of VLC videos would be slow and choppy.

Transferring files from one PC to another over a crossover cable would take much longer. 4gigs of files would take about 20mins or so.

Virus scanners, Avast, Malwarebytes, and Spybot would also take much longer than usual.

So, about 2 weeks ago while my brother was on Youtube my... Read more

Question: typing is slow

i have been in tech support for over 5 years professionally, and have used computers since 1984. i'm not all knowing, but do have a very good grasp of computer problems. the thing i'm experiencing is this: sometimes the typing on my computer is very slow. i can type a sentence and look up at the field and it will have 1 letter typed in. then it takes at least 15 seconds to get the next letter. very frustrating. it happens in everything, firefox, notepad, word, and even the search box on the start menu. i am running a laptop from cyberpower pc with win 7 pro 64 bit, i-7 2.8 ghz processor, 8 gb ram and intel hd graphics 3000. usually a reboot will fix it, but sometimes it freezes up enough that it takes a hard reboot. when i check the event viewer, there is nothing on the system or application logs that match the times or that seems unusual. i have ran ms security scanner, malwarebytes, tdss killer, combo fix, rogue killer, hijack this and gmer in addition to the ms security essentials that i use and keep updated. if it's a virus or the like it is hard to get rid of. the one thing that i haven't tried is reloading windows. i look forward to any responses. thanx in advance.

I am rephrasing my problem:

DOS delays my keypresses. Why? I have perfectly good CPU Usage (okay, fine, staggering @ 26%), why is this happening? This is really frustrating!

Answer:Slow Typing in DOS

Are you using Cmd or Command? which did you enter in the run line?

I guess that actualy doesn't matter, it shouldn't be slow for either of them.

Have you always had this problem?

What are system Specs? and what programs do you run?

I seem to be having a problem with posting here, every word is extremely slow!! :confused

I have to type out my message in my mail and then copy it into the post here because it takes for ever to type something here. I can sometimes count up to 4 seconds between each letter when typing here. Can you think of any reason this would be happening and what the solution might be. I have no problem typing off line, course I haven't tried in any other site.

I downloaded CCleaner and ran it and things seem to be much better for one message but this one and the last were slowed again.
Thanks for you help, don't know what I would do without this place and all of you....

Answer:Slow typing Here????

First, why not try to log into another site and type a message there and see how that goes. It sounds to me like it might be your internet connection, or your browser is doing something weird. There's also the chance that it's malware, or something in your system is eating up resources. Read this link about PC maintenance and follow the steps, maybe it will help. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650
If not, read this and follow the steps, and post in the malware forum if some scans comes up positive: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

BTW- it might be easier to type the message in Notepad, then paste it here, instead of having to log into your email to type a message... but hopefully you won't have to do either of those after following the steps above.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I've had a problem with typing for the past few days and it seems to occurr on all applications. (i.e. internet explorer, firefox and microsoft word) I'm pretty sure that it's not a ram issue, have deframented my harddrive, ran avira antivirus program, adaware and have not installed anything new or visited any suspect websites. In additions, I have all microsoft updates and have tried restoring my computer back a month and it wouldn't let me. I'm just worried that my security has been compromised and am not sure if there is reason for the type to take seconds for each key. Any help would be appreciated.

Question: Slow typing

In trying to clean up and speed up a desktop PC - it got worse - so the owner reports.
She says- ' When typing an E-mail into Inredimail- the text on screen will either not appear - or sill appear after tying in a rush or even appear with whole sentences missing .'
I wonder however is this not more to do with the Internet connection being slow rather than the machine?
What do you all think?

Answer:Slow typing

Unless a "web-based" email service is being used, any typing into the editor of an email program is done only in the local machine. It wouldn't necessarily need to be connected to the internet until the message was being sent, so her problem isn't internet based.
When the problem is present, she should have a look in Task Manager to see if something is using an excessive amount of the CPU resources. If the CPU is running at 100%, then there is an issue with an application which leaves no resources to do anything else, hence the unresponsive typing.

]Hi members, I'm getting carried away now, this is my second post but different subject.

I have only had one reply as yet on the first one concerning Vista not booting, so if anyone is up for a challenge please take a look at my previous post and see what you think!

Anyhow I have had a TOSHIBA 201 LAPTOP for 6 months now all ok until recently when its noticably slow swithing from one tab to another, but the most irritating recent problem is when using MSN Hotmail and typing an e-mail the words just lock up while you continue to type and then it plays catch up when it feels like it. I was thinking i may need to delete a lot of old undeleted mail, but having cleaned up, theres no difference?

Thank's Artisan62

Hello, I have Windows 98 second edition. On many web sites i have very slow delayed typing and slow scrolling. Could you please give me any easy step to correct this headache, Thanks

Answer:slow typing and scrolling

hey, a couple questions. having windows 98, im going to assume that this computer has been around for 4 or more years. do you run adaware/spybot check often? (google those two)

second, what kind of connection do you have, eg, dial-up, DSL. cause even DSL/cable can get slow times... which would affect your page load times. just a thought from me.

Question: Typing speed slow

Build 10946.1000; i already typed the letter in keyboard speedily but letter is coming after 5-6 sec

Answer:Typing speed slow

have you done a soft reset? to do soft reset hold volume down + power key until device reboots.
As you are an insider this could be one of the glitch that may be affecting you, a soft reset may or may not fix it permanently but you could see some improvements.

Samsung PCWindows 8.1after my PC is on for awhile the typing in Chrome search bar becomes slow to respond. If I run webroot and CCleaner then reboot everything is normal until I get a little more browsing done then the slow response starts again.

Answer:typing slow to respond

Check your browser plugins / extensions, one of them might be causing problems. Otherwise, try with Firefox / internet explorer 'just' to check if you are experiencing same problems.

When I start typing e-mails, it seems that I need to wait for the PC to catch up with my typing. Sometime it misses letters and I need to go back and reenter the missing letters. Now, I find that when I go into Task Manager 3 or 4 of the IEXPLOR.EXE are in the very high numbers in the memory (private working set). Sometimes the numbers are into 200k to 600k. Everything else ins in the 20k area. If I end process in each of these I find that I can return to normal typing. Do you think there is a fix for this? Or do I have a virus?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Bob

Answer:Slow when typing e-mails on Aol.

One possibility is that a add-on may be keeping the multiple instances of IE from closing.

You can check this by right clicking on the IE icon on the taskbar and choose start without add-ons.

If this turns out to be the case you can turn them off one at a time to determine which is the culprit.

Right click on the taskbar and click on the Tools button, then click on Manage add-ons.

Click on All add-ons under Show, then select the add-ons you want to turn off.

Click on Disable, then click on Close.

i recently began to experience slowing typing in all apps on my laptop

the typing speeds are fine at the log in screen (when i type my password)

i already checked msconfig for PCMService.exe, it's not there so that shouldn't be the problem

my system performance is how it has always been, i tried to play a large movie and it worked fine.

as i type about 5% of the time typing speeds are fine. sometimes if i type a long phrase and wait it will quickly fill in what i have typed after stalling for a second.

another forum post i read suggested deleting the keyboard driver and let it install again but i haven't tried that yet.

Hi;
This doesn't happen all the time,...but when it does it's very frustrating. Occassionally, when typing in Outlook,....it will take a few seconds for the letters to appear in the document. Just wondering what might cause that to happen. Like I say,....it's not all the time. It's mostly just annoying,....but I'd like to figure out if it's something that I can actually "fix". I'm pretty sure that my system is clean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey! I got some trouble with my new aspire e5-474 that I just bought. The thing is when I'm typing I feel a "lag" that bugs me a lot, its a delay that occurs for like a second, when I miss a key and try to correct it feel so slow al laggish, Idk what is happening. I have fully updated windows 10, and all drivers are up to date (checked with the care center solution). I found this very weird because it cant be a driver issue, so its the processor lagging? It have an i5 6200u. for that kind of task should not be problems at all. I hope someone can help, thanks in advance

Answer:Slow typing on my Aspire E5-474

I found the solution to my problem. It was so simple. I found that the touchpad was making the trouble.First I put the option Disable touchpad when a mouse is connected in the Elantech option, but it was getting signals of my palm resting while typing, so I turned the touchpad off with the action keys and voila!! the lag/delay was gone for good !! I just could not belive it, so I tested my theory and the results confirm it, was the touchpad making the issue. IF SOMEONE HAS A SIMILAR ISSUE YOU HAVE THE ANSWER RIGHT HERE. AND THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT GUYS..

Hello I use Firefox as my browser and it is slow to typing and even slow scrolling with my mouse. Works great with IE. I have gotten the latest version and addon updates yet it was still the same...so I uninstalled FireFox and all addons and reinstalled an earlier version...still the same.

Any ideas what to do...this is also happing on my laptop in another room.

It seems to be typing OK here...no lag what soever....now that is just confusing.!!! Could it be script on those forums?

Answer:Slow Typing, scrolling

It depends on what you're using at the time and what scripts the site is using. If the site has a lot of animated Flash ads or movies, then the site would be slower than a site without those.

Hi, I've encounter some typing programs after I've upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7. In some websites and forums, my key input seems to be lagging and skipping.

An example, this is the sentence I wanted to type
"I'm in the office now"

this is the sentence it came out with lagging and skipping
"Imi theoffce no"

A few things i tried to do is upgraded my laptop original drivers thru supplier website but apparently they don't have a full set of Win7 drivers. I'm hoping this are not the cause of it. I've updated my Java and display drivers till the latest possible.

Some sites i also encounter some scrolling problems.

Kindly help thanks

Hi.

I have seen, that if I write an email in my Thunderbird mailer, what I write has huge delays until written in the email.

The computer is not especially slow.

What can cause the phenomenia ?

Answer:Typing in mailer slow.

If you see no delay when using your keyboard in other applications like typing a post to this forum, then the problem is with your installation of Thunderbird. If there is a repair option for Thunderbird in Programs and Features you can try that; if not all you can do is uninstall it, reboot, and try to install it again.

I am experiencing extremely slow typing/keboard response time in IE. If I type a word it takes up to ten seconds to appear on the screen. Its almost as if my computer is "spooling" my keyboard entries and putting a couple second delay between each one. I suspect malware. Does anyone know how to slove this ?

Answer:Tecra S2: Slow typing problem

Hello Val?rie

I presume the unit is not preinstalled with original recovery media. Am I right?

Anyway I have noticed similar experience and the reason was running antivir application. I don?t know which one you use but if you use one try to turn it off and test it. I am pretty sure that some background running processes slow down CPU usage rapidly and the result is this typing issue.

After a period of time browsing with IE, any URL we type into the Internet Explorer address bar starts to appear very slowly with maybe a second between each letter we type appearing. You have to close the browser down and restart to resume normal service.

There appear to be no settings to change that can affect it. We're using Service Pack 2 although the problem happened in SP1 as well. Please don't ask us to change browser as its an office policy to use IE.

Thanks for any assistance

I have an old W500 Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 7, Service pack 1. I have 4 GB of RAM. This machine was running well until lately, when virtually all typing is lagging, selection by clicking and double clicking doesn't seem to work right, and even selecting by dragging the cursor doesn't work well.

I've run scans using Avira and Spybot in safe mode. Check disk, sfc, defrag, etc. Still nothing. I don't think it was software or hardware that I added, since I really haven't added anything much during this time.

Suggestions for my next step, please?

Hello all
I've been having some issues for a couple of months now.
Delayed keystroke entries
Slow mouse response when clicking.
Jerky scrolling.
Both FF and IE8 browsers hang for a bit.
In FF, the little circle of dots that runs when loading a page, quits, starts, quits, etc. IE8 does the same.
Disabled 4-5 FF add ons and nothing changed.
Hit enter to move a line down, and it hesitates. Backspace hesitates.
Have cleaned up the main drive disc, defragged, cleared cookies and cache, all to no avail.
Have replaced the keyboard and mouse.

VBulletin forums work fair.
Any PHP forums, I cannot stay logged in on those for very long. KIcks me off.

WildBlue satellite with a netgear router to run another household computer.
Windows XP Pro, all updates.
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual
Core Processor 5800+
3.00GHz, 3.25 GB Ram

6 month old custom built machine.
It's took me 2 minutes to type this.

Hi there I am desperate for help. I have had a problem with email typing in my hotmail account for over week. The typing is very slow with missing letters and stalling, sticking on the 'blinker' the whole thing is slow and unresponsive making it totally impossible to use it is driving me mad. I have not had any sucsess with any other support techs or forums, not even with the hotmail team (rubbish!) I have tryed sorting the browser bar and clearing 'cookies' etc.. this made NO difference. Please help, I am at the end of my teather.

Answer:slow typing in hotmail account

What version of Internet Explorer are you using?
Click "Help" then "About" to get the version.

If you are using 7 or 8, please reset the Addons and settings.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools->Internet Options.
Click the advanced tab, and use the reset button at the bottom.

Test hotmail and see if the issue is still occuring.

-Mick.

Hi all. I have a new R13 and since I upgraded it to windows 10, typing/deleting etc have been painfully slow on Word. Big delays. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks! Edit: scrolling (mostly upwards) is also very delayed and jumpy.. also opening and saving files is very slow. Rest of laptop is fast.

Answer:Acer R13 slow typing on MS Word

Quindogg,

If you have not, please make sure that you have all the latest and greatest Windows updates. If you do have all the updates, perform a refresh, maybe something is not installed correctly and is messing it up.

Hi, I'm a IT Desktop Analyst. and have 2 clients with identical issues. Both clients have T400s 2815-23U, 4 GB RAM, 250GB 5400 RPM SATA HD's, system with our corporate image. Both system take over 15 minutes to boot into the OS. Every few minutes the systems freezes or hangs for a few seconds, the CPU goes to 100%. I have tried all the usual fixes, reading the event logs, virus scans, malware scans, chkdsk, running System Update and looking at Task Manage nothing sticks out.. We have even tried reimaging but the problem keeps coming back.. Any thought, Ray Laureyns

Answer:T400s very slow and hangs when typing

Which OS is it?Does said image work on other T400s's?Does a clean install on the affected T400s's work?

Under Resource Monitor (assuming Windows 7), which programs max out the CPU?

By "keeps coming back", do you mean it doesn't start immediately after imaging?

Hi - I'm running outlook 2003 on xp home edition. I was having problems sending and receiving. I went into options and unchecked 'use microsoft office word' to edit and read messages, because I notice Word was running in task manager.

I'm now able to read incoming messages, but when attempting to type a message there is a long delay between every keystroke, and it's basically impossible to send.

I recently got a new router (went from B to G) but I can't say for sure if this problem coincided with adding the new router.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm including a Hijack log just in case.

Hi,
I bought my laptop a month ago.
Typing was fine, nothing special.
After downloading picasa3 and "photofilter" which is
a software for editing photos,it became very hard to type...
Internet is missing letters that I types...terrible!

I must say the for sending emails in my yahoo account it was very annoying so I downloaded "Google Chrom", and typing here is ok.

Any advise what is the problem with internet explorer?

Thanks,
Yifat

This is weird, after loading Outlook 2007 trial, when I try to type the body of an email, the typing lags, it's slow. Tried defrag, error check, roboot, etc. No cure.

Any ideas why?

Answer:Outlook2007 on Vista 64 typing slow

Dumb question but, did you install it with "Run as an Administrator" or just regular double clicking on the .exe file?
