Hello, I've recently buy the Yoga 500-14ISK in i7 8Go and I have some question that I didn't find the answer on internet :- What is the max capacity of RAM ? I would like to upgrade it to 16 Go.- What is the model on the RAM ?DDR4, frequency ? CAS ?- Can I change the SSD to upgrade the capacity ?- If I change that (memory OR/AND SSD) will I lose the warranty ? Best Regards Adrien

Hi. I've been trying to find the specific motherboard used in the Yoga 700-14ISK model 80QD0088SP laptop, but no information about it seems to be available, even though I've seen it in a Spanish well-known website. I want to know to cross-check the maximum RAM memory that can be installed, since some sites advertise 8 GB, others 16 GB, and I've even seen some web saying that it is possible to upgrade the Yoga 700-14ISK up to 32 GB of RAM. Thanks.

Question: Yoga 500 14ISK

Hello, i just recently bought Yoga 500 14ISK with windows 10. However the screen occasionally and randomly goes black during work and the only solution is to switch it off with power button and switch it on again. When in black screen, computer still works (fans, music, etc.) I tried to close the laptop to put it into a sleep mode and open it again-screen works but after entering my password it goes black again in a second.I was able to solve all the other issues(high CPU, RAM and disku usage) but this one is killing me. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hey there.I just got a Yoga 500-14ISK too and I ran into a thread (here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/FLex-3-Video-card-Mathematical-Operatio... where guys were having similar issues, as well as the Lenovo Companion app detecting hardware errors. I don't have black screen issues but it does tell m I have an Intel HD 520 hardware problem.What they suggested is that the laptop is "too new" for the drivers and Lenovo has acknowledged the issues. It is possible that replacement display from original part number 5D10K42173 (highlighted for Lenovo encompass pricing) with cheaper IBM compatible screen or other resellers that would also work with the model similar to Chi Mei CMN14A7 TN screens.

Is the RAM on a Yoga 710 14ISK upgradeable? I am thinking of buying one of these with 8GB RAM and I need to know if it could be swapped for a 16GB card at a later date if that turned out to be necessary. Hello, i have the following model Yoga 510-14ISK Laptop, the problem is that whenever i try to play a game, it won' matter what title, it won't switch to the dedicated graphics.What i tried so far:-disabled onboard graphics, ran a test on League of Legends, i have about 5 to 7 fps, it did not work at all the first time, the radeon graphics driver was either missing completely or malfunctioning ! i downloaded the auto detect driver tool from radeon, seems to have partially solved the problem, the game starts but as i said above very low fps, with minimum settings, do note that with my onboard driver it can render it in high quality at the max resolution available 1366x768.-changed the power plan to high perfomance;-i ran the lenovo companion basic diagnostic test and all the components are working as they should no problem there.What could be the cause of this ? With my integrated graphics card i can run it just fine, but i have a dedicated card and my laptop does not use it at all, in any circumstance, even videos on youtube with my dedicated card enabled and onboard card disabled it moves clunky, and yes it does have the power cable connected.Any solutions ?Thank you !

Getting message to say I have used 119G of 119G.  This could not possibly be correct.  As far as I can see there is no disk partition, only a C:   Since new I have installed very little software and a couple of apps.  Please help

Someone would need more info to help.  What kind of machine?  Operating system?  Disk size?  Why are you sure the message is wrong?  A 128GB SSD could easily have 119GB of usable space with almost all being gone.

Hello, I have a question about the Lenovo Yoga 700-14ISK (14" model). I see some are shipped with an SSD and some with an HDD. Is there place to place both an SSD and an HDD? Then I could for example buy the one with the SSD, and install an HDD next to it myself. It seems possible with the 700-15ISK (15") model, but I was wondering whether this is also the case for the 14" model. Regards,Loek

I bought Kingston (HX316LS9IB/8)  8gb ddr3 ram,but it doesnt work on 500-14isk, the laptop is not bootingI think the problem is the bios only supports CL11 rams.If it is, why bios doesn't support CL9 rams. Can you put new update bios for it ? Thanks.

Answer:Yoga 500 14ISK 8gb ram not working

A lower number of wait states won't make it incompatible.  I would try reseating it.  Also, after a configuration change, it may take longer for the first POST - maybe up to a minute.  Sometimes, particular brands and models have compatibility problems.  If it still doesn't work, I suggest returning it for a different brand.  My choice is always Corsair Vengeance.  I've never had compatibility issues.  Other people may have other favorites.

I have had a Yoga 700 14ISK for approx. 1.5 years. I have just started having issues with the fan constantly running even with very little usage / open applications. I checked CPU usage in task manager and it is very low ~ 2%. I have seen some suggestions to update BIOS for the Yoga 710 to deal with this issue. The only BIOS update I have seen for the Yoga 700 was from Sept 2016. I've also seen some suggesitons to download a fan control utlity and then adjust fan settings. Anybody else experiencing this issue with the Yoga 700 ? Should I download the BIOS update from Sept 2016 ? Will that help ?  Any advice would be apprecaited. Thanks,

Hi,I have a fresh YOGA 510-14ISK with Windows10 on it. I can see only one HDMI Port. I want to use it with two monitors without the laptops own display. It means the laptop is closed, extra keyboard and mouse is attached to it and two extra monitors. How to find out if the graphic chip is able to do that? How can I attach two monitors to one HDMI? Hi just got lenovo yoga 500 - 14ISK for christmas and the bootup time to start Windows 10 is about 4 to 5 minites. With 8g ram, I5-6200 cpu and SSHD 1TB + 8g hard drive it seems abit long. I also have a desktop pc with I5,8g ram and a SSD drive and it take less than a minite. I know its not a full SSD drive in the yoga 500 but its so long to boot up i dont no if its all Lenovo bloatware loading or if its a faulty drive. Any one had the same problem and can give advice please.

Hi focus 5522,system boot up with sshd drive must be under 20 seconds (even with lenovo bloatware), there must by some hw or sw problem, try check your device manager for some broken drivers or task manager for some high cpu usage processes and it can help to find out what's wrong.If you can't find anything, just try reinstall whole your system (lenovo recovery from recovery partiton - accessible thought novo button, or you can download win10 iso image and microsoft usb instal tool and reinstal whole system without lenovo sw.)Tomas

Checking with i3-6100u specification here for the supported socket show BGA (ball grid array) or soldered onto the motherboard so it cannot be upgraded.
 
Similarly, as the hardware manual does not offer steps for CPU removal, page 70-71 item 4 show description of the motherboards with the CPU that it comes with too. So upgrading the CPU would mean changing the entire board instead.

Hello to all you good forum users again.I have just updated my system, from a socket 939, to an Intel LG775 with DDR3 memory etc.Everything has went fine, except for one thing with the hard drive, which I cannot fathom out.Maybe some of you kind folk who are more adversed to these things can advise me.As I say, everything, including the hard drive, is working perfectly, but the hard drive used space, on both the Windows XP system reading, and on my own hard drive manager, shows that I have used 119 gig of my 250 gig hard drive. NEVER. As I have not even finished installing all the software, I had on previously, this Cannot be right.Can anyone shed any light on how or why, the system is showing that I have used A LOT more of the hard drive space than I actually have.Many thanks to anyone who can help me with this problem.

Hello everyone how are you all doing? Ok here goes about one week ago I installed Netdog to block XXX sites. Everything was going well until my boyfriend used the computer and he was searching for hours trying to get into a XXX site so he did and my computer caught a major virus. I did everything I could I did a Malwarebytes scan restarted the computer, then did a Hijackthis scan and someone helped me fix some things everything seemed to be going good, until I tried to download a torrent and that brought the same virus back. I used combofix after and everything was going back to normal. When I was ready to turn the PC off it said that there were some updates that need to be installed while the computer turned off. The next day when I turned the PC back on it wouldn't log on at all. It would just go to a black screen asking if I wanted to log on in safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc.... Whatever I selected just made the PC restart to do the same thing. I did a system recovery; everything was good again (even though I lost everything). I decided to download NetDog again to block those sites. Again Yesterday (Nov.2) my BF used the computer and found another site that netdog didn't block and my PC caught another virus. I did the malwarebytes again and restarted then did the Hijackthis. Someone was helping me the whole day but by the time I did the Hijackthis scan that person logged off the computer, I decided to wait till that person logged on inorder to continue ... Read more

I've recently got my SL300 LCD defectively. It is just out of warranty (this is shame because lenovo thinkpad is known as for the best quality compared with other computer sellers). Could you please tell me the technical information about the LCD pannel so that I can buy it to replace my defective one? Thank you!
 
p/s: my friend got his HP laptop fixxed for free even though his laptop is out of warranty for more than 2 years. And you know that laptop is useless if laptop LCD is defective. So sad I've bought this SL300 a year and several months ago. And I think there was some technical issues that made SL300 laptop discontinued after a month I've bought it. Please change the quality of your product Lenovo.

Hi Tom I have discovered a similar problem in my Lenovo SL300 very recently. A red dotted vertical line appeared towards the right side of the screen. This is very unfortunate since I also had the idea this laptop would be way better than this. Now I am struggling to do some troubleshooting myself and to see which are the minimum parts I need to replace so that price doesn't go that high. I have less than two years with this laptop and i'm a very careful user. Aside from factory problems there is no other reason why my LCD would fail in such a short period of time. This is unfortunate. Anyways, should you hear suggestions from anyone please let me know and I'll promise I'll do the same. Allan

I have the lenovo y510p sli version. Last night while browsing the internet, the screen suddenly went black (the pc did not shut down, just the screen), and I got a burnt metallic smell. I turned off the laptop and removed the battery. I went to test it after the fact, the pc boots, however the led screen seems to not be backlit now. I can see the lenovo logo slightly if I angle it right, but it as if there is no "backlighting" on the screen. I know for a fact it is not a software issue. I ordered a replacement led screen. My question is whether the entire led controller board is built into the led assembly, or if there is a separate control for the screen that is built into the motherboard that may have caused the failure.

Hi all.

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L300. I keep getting the blue screen with a message ***0x00008086 when I turn on the laptop on, I've have tried to load in safe mode & trying to lauch the start up repair mode option, but it eventully it still takes me back to this blue screen with the above error message.

Can anyone help or do i need to contact Toshiba to fix?

You have new notebook with valid warranty. If you cannot start it on regular way you can try to start recovery procedure using F8 at start up following option ?Repair my computer?.
Usually clean OS installation should works but if there is the same problem again don't waste your time and contact Toshiba authorized service provider as soon as possible.

Turn on my computer (not this one). Black screen full of text: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully........" No matter which option I pick (safe mode, last known successful config, normal windows,) the next screen I get is a BLUE screen:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.... " It then tells me to deactivate antivirus, diskdefrag; check harddrive config and check for any updated drivers; and run chkdks_/F... But its not letting me into windows, so I don't see how I can do anything.

Here is the technical details line, which I'm hoping will tell some clever computer tech person what I need to do next:
STOP:0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x81D9A180, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

Computer has autoupdated NAV, Adaware, Spybot, ZoneAlarm and spywareblaster. Lost of memory goes to Ipod music files.

Windows XP came preloaded by Dell, but I do have a Windows XP disk still in the shrink wrap that came with the computer.

I tried to install the driver again but it says there is no device. Even in device manager I cannot see imaging devices sub section to reinstall camera. None of the applications running the camera. Hi! I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 710-14isk in France which comes with a charger known as "Wall charger" : this one http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/chargers-and-batteries/chargers/PWR-ADP-BO-65W... I'm moving to Canada next month for 2 years and I would like to know if this charger can be turned into a US / Canada charger by changing only the wall plug? It seams that the plug can be separate from the rest of the chaeger but I didn't find how.I didn't find on the lenovo store any plug to replace my french plug as well. Do you know if something like that exist and where I can find it?If not I guesss it's easier and cheaper to buy only a universal plug adapter, but since I'll stay in Canada for a long time, a proper integrated solution seems better for me ! Thank you for your help !

Hi, My camera is not working where I get the error message 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5) in the windows camera app.  The camera worked perfectly on 08/03/17 but did not work at all today. I checked the drivers and got this.Name: EasyCameraDevice type: Imaging devicesManufacturer: BisonLocation: 0000.0014.0000.005.000.000.000.000.000Device status: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45). To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.  There is an option to click called "learn how" in the windows camera app along with the error code, this lead me the microsoft website where I followed one of the steps to resolve this issue. I tried to update the driver which didn't work then I tried the option "Uninstall your webcam driver and scan for hardware changes". I managed to resolve this immediately after posting all that and going through all of that ordeal... I looked at my keyboard, saw the camera symbol on F8 and decided to press it to see if it does anything. The camera was reenabled and back to working perfectly. I remember someone in the past week decided to press loads of keys on my keyboard messing, turns out they pressed F8... So if you have this issue try pressing F8 or the alternative button on your computer before you do anything! Or you could end up wasting an entire evening and night (literally) searching forums for information trying to fix it yourself, being on with customer support remotely accessing your computer, reinstalling windows and loads of drivers, uninstalling your antivirus and also being told by Lenovo to reset your laptop to factory settings in their email support.   Hope my embarrassing situation saves you hassle in the future, also to show you to learn to laugh at yourself when something like this happens, I know I certainly am now. Good luck, Thomas

Hi everyone.I have a yoga 500 14isk. My laptop is well but i think i have a problem. I charged my battery fully after that i start using but i didnt take off the charger. Then i realized that the bettery level is going down to %98. But the  charger was plugged in. I see this eror when you charged fully and start the using about anything,programming,gaming,whatching movie.... I went to warranty for this issue and they changed the battery. But i think this problems source is windows 10. If i take off the charger and contunie the using laptop,when battery level is comes under the %90,i am pluging in again and the battery start charging again.So that i can see the battery level is %100.?f you see this eror,firstly go to warranty shop.I will use my laptop  a little time and if i see this eror again,i will go to service again.

Answer:Yoga 500 14ISK plugged in not charging

Actually this is fine. Thas is the way it should work. Your battery life is calculated in charging-decharging cycles. Imaging that if the charger went on after dropping from 100% to 99% and charged your battery again to 100%...and then it goes off and the level drops again to 99% and then again...the charger is on to charge it fully to 100%, this costs a lot of more cycles that dropping to lets say 96-97%. This causes less wear to the battery

My Yoga 500-14ISK Laptop (ideapad) did not charge due to mainboard problem as stated by the Lenovo service in Turkey. The worst thing is that I was told that related part-the mainboard is not avaliable in Turkey and I had to wait for another month.My waranty expires on 1st of december,2018. What if the part arrives later than that date and I get the third mainboard error when the warranty is over. The Turkish service does not accpet to give me brand new computer as I have a broken but working screen. So I need help

Hi everybody.I have a Yoga 500-14ISK model notebook. I bought one of these Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB http://www.crucial.de/deu/de/yoga-500-14isk/CT7972028 as i can see it's ok with my model number. When i use this ram i cant boot. There is no beep sounds either by the way. When i change back to old ram module everything is fine. I think it maybe ram module is broken. ? have 2 of same ram module installed and working my other Loptop which is also lenovo (Z50-70). So i get one of the working module. But i have some issue. Then i installed module to z50-70 its working fine. My BIOS up to date with D3CN32WW version. Any suggestions?

The memory specifications for this model for the RAM:
8GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, one 204-pin SO-DIMM socket .
 
The board supports  1.35V RAM socketed Low powered RAM .
As if you get a DDR3L , dual capable to work on a DDR3 or DDR3L socket boards.
 
Hardware manual parts list (item 9 page 84) showing recommended memory modules that would work best. 
If you can have them replaced with similar specs but with DDR3L instead.

Having some graphics problems, I downloaded the latest on the support website, listed as Intel VGA driver Win 10 64bit, version 21.20.16.4627, which downloaded as 6p5b05af.exe When I ran this, I was dismayed to be told "Driver is not validated for this computer" Where do I go from here?

Try these steps..
 
Boot the computer by turning it back on and keep on tapping ESC. Then click F11 Recovery then
select "Troubleshoot" and then "Advance Options" and try these steps:
 
b.Select "Advanced options" and then select "Command Prompt".
c.If prompted, enter in the password for the user name.
d.At the Command Prompt, type the following commands and hit enter.
?
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixMBR
bootrec /Fixboot
bootrec /rebuildBCD
?
If prompted to press yes then press Y then restart if not then type the code below
?
?
chkdsk c: /f /r /x
 
After running the commands your computer should restart and will automatically install windows update. Sometimes it will take for a while to update. Just extend your patience and wait until your computer restarted successfully.

I am having problems with my SD card reader, I uploaded some pictures from an SD card, tried the following day and the laptop is not recognisiing the SD card. A couple of months ago we bought 14 computers Yoga 700-14ISK (with integrated GeForce), and most of them are concerned with the ghost touches problem.It really causes troubles when your computer becomes crazy displaying a powerpoint presentation in front of a group of customers. I downloaded all the recent drivers on the Lenovo website, but it did not solved the issue, ghost touch still appear. So whan can we/you do to solve it? Thank you.

Lenovo have updated the bios. Part of this update are some bug fixes that haven't bothered me. I've noticed that is seems a little slower get started (before windows loads) and the lenovo image is absolutely awful. Does anyone have a previous version to the latest (D3CN35WW) Lenovo support cant (or wont) provide the previous version as they say they dont keep them. Very grateful, thanks.

Hello! Got a weird issue with a Yoga 700-14ISK in my fleet that started late last week. It will no longer charge if the lid is closed and/or if the unit is powered off.  The only way the unit will charge is if the lid is open and the unit is powered on. I've checked everything I can possibly think of and can't find a solution.  Has anyone here seen anything like this before? Thanks in advance!

With current 8GB , you may no longer upgrade it more as per OEM recommendation for maximum RAM support.

 Since I have upgrade Bios from v1.03 to actual version v1.06 for my Yoga 510-14ISK ,there is so much fan noise  .the Fan almost does not stop . That´s why I look for bios update v1.03 .the problem ist that ist not possible to downlod the old bios version from lenovo website .I am grateful  If any one have a Backup or the old version put it here .Thank you

Hi! I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 710-14isk in France which comes with a charger known as "Wall charger" : this one http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/chargers-and-batteries/chargers/PWR-ADP-BO-65W... I'm moving to Canada next month for 2 years and I would like to know if this charger can be turned into a US / Canada charger by changing only the wall plug? It seams that the plug can be separate from the rest of the chaeger but I didn't find how.I didn't find on the lenovo store any plug to replace my french plug as well. Do you know if something like that exist and where I can find it?If not I guesss it's easier and cheaper to buy only a universal plug adapter, but since I'll stay in Canada for a long time, a proper integrated solution seems better for me ! Thank you for your help !

Hello, Just received this laptop yesterday and liking it so far. Trying to update as many drivers as possible which lenovo seems to make difficult with their own customs one. One of the drivers is the Intel HD Graphics one, which provides an error when i do a solution centre scan - forget this issue for a sec, apparently this is a false positive but is fixed by newer drivers. When I go to install the latest Intel VGA driver for my machine (updated 12/8/16), i get through the installation and then get an error message when it finishes up telling me the  "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the manufacturor" Of course when i go to install one direct from intel I also get this message. I'm not sure what to do from here? Why is the driver on the Lenovo website not recognised? The driver remains on an old version (now over a year old). Help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jack

Hello, on my yoga 500 when i play a game the screen begins to flicker black screen due to nvidia. Updating drivers didn't help. Installing old drivers failed. Changing settings any way didnt help. The only way is to completely disable nvidia card, but it looses a lot of performance. My graphs are: intel hd 520 and nVIDIA 940m. Someone help? And yes, it happens on AC power too. EDIT: I forget to say weirdrst thing: it says I have 920m!

This sounds like screen tearing, where the graphics card is rendering frames faster than they can be displayed.
Some games cope better than others, do you notice a difference in different games? Enable vsync in the game, this should resolve the issue.

Hello,I've been experiencing some terrible fan noise, now for the third time. I had the fan replaced twice and the noise keeps returning after a month or so.The main problem is the quality of the fan, it just bends and then touches the "frame".Anyone experiencing the same? or I'm just an extremely unlucky person with two bad fans?I'm looking for a longlasting solution, I cannot replace the fan every month.cheers

Hello, I used microsoft refresh to have a new clean windows 10 on that computer. I wanted to install last driver so I went to : this link even if all semms to work well. I've several questions : 1 - it seems there is some duplications with some drivers   for Bluetooth drivers : Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook, Bluetooth Driver (Liteon, Realtek, Broadcom) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook,    for wifi drivers : WLAN Driver (Liteon, Realtek, Broadcom) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook, Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook,) 2 - If I look on Intel Management Engine Interface Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook version, on the site, it's written ver. 11.0.0.1176 from 19/10/2016, but the preinstalled version actual in windows  10 on the laptop is version 11.5.0.1011 with date of 08/04/2016. Is it normal to have a higher version with a lower date? Could I base only on dates to choose which drivers to install? What do you advise me to do? Install all the drivers on the webpage? Thanks.

Hello, firstly I am sorry if this ends up being a similar situation to something solved previously.

Yesterday, I turned on my computer to check emails and it blue screened on me. After it auto-restarted, I attempted to resume, and it did the same thing. I decided to check the dump file since I had downloaded Blue Screen View after a previous blue screen event, and it did it again. After (I believe) five blue screens after running windows seemingly successfully, it wouldn't even finish loading windows.

Running windows normally - blue screen
Running startup repair - blue screen
Trying to run the windows installer from my setup disk - blue screen

I can get it to run in safe mode, and checking the dumps shows that the Windows NT Kernal is throwing up a red flag (ntoskrnl.exe).

I have run MemTest x86 and after 4 passes, it returns 0 errors.
Attempting to run a repairing check disk forces me to schedule it to run at startup, and the computer blue screens before it can actually run.

I am at a loss as to what to do to correct the issue.

I Removed the battery and left the computer unplugged overnight. When I replaced these this morning, I started up normally and seems to be stable so far. However, I don't know if this is permanent or just a random fluke. If someone could review the information the SF Diagnostic Tool gathered and provide some feedback on this, I'd appreciate it.

I choice it for a very long time because for me it was a very important and expensive thing. But.. in april this happened. At first everything was invisible, but every day more and more.I'm studying for a programmer and for me it was unpleasant. Most of all it was a pity that I chose the laptop because of the convenient keyboard. I writing in support, but they said, that I'm need to go to the service center. But he is 400 km away from me. They said, that I need to wait for evaluation and repair time. I can not afford it financially.Now I looked through many forums, this problem turned out only for me. Hi My laptop is just 3 months old, has been working fine up till  now. All of a sudden it won't connect to wifi, or it will for a second then go off again. Yesterday all options for wifi went completely missing, in the toolbar on the bottom right hand side, the icon for wifi had dissappearEd and when I went into settings,wifi settings had gone from there too. The icons are back now and I could connect to my wifi, but it says there is no Internet connection. There is Internet through the wifi though because I'm using my phone on the wifi!! I tried to disconnect from the wifi and economy again but it has been trying to connect to the wifi for the last 10 mins! Help!!!! Thankso Jamie

Hi all, Laptop : Lenovo Yoda 500-14ISK, Windows 10. My windows 10 pro cannot recognize  nvidia card and only intel card avilable in device manger the second gpu card not showing.Tried to install "GeForce Experience" - not detecting Nvidia card.Under device manager it only shown that I have and using the intel HD graphic card.Upgraded all Intel drivers - no luck...Tried also to refresh the HW by removing the battery and ac adapter and perform a power drain by holding the power button for 30secs. My keyboard stopped suddenly working. First the mousepad froze and when I got it working I realized that the keyboard isn't working. When I try to click anywhere it immediately starts typing "zzzzzzz..." and won't stop. I am currently using my laptop in tablet mode. I was able to type a, q and 1 when holding down the letter z, but I updated the bios and now nothing works (I was previously also able to 'disable' the letter z, when holding it down with the buttons next to it). Could it be possible to fix the problem or should I give up and take it to repairs?

Hey all, Hope someone can help me out with this. I am having a lot of troube with internet connection in my laptop. It usually starts fine when I turn on the computer, but after ~30 min it really slows down and often it looses the wi-fi signal. I have good connection on my phone all the time and  other computers using the same network do just fine, so it really looks like a problem with the wi-fi adapter. I've already done everything this link recommends: https://support.lenovo.com/br/pt/documents/ht070623 I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times. Also, I reset my pc in case some I'd gotten some virus, but no luck. I've an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 and the driver version is 18.40.0.9 that seems to be the last version of the driver that I could find at Lenovo website.  Help?Thanks

Hello "Lenovo community", First sorry for my english  I start this post because my laptop Yoga 700-14ISK have a big issue. After a night in hibernating mode when i opened it the keyboard and the mouse was not working.- I try to do fn + F6 but nothing.- I try to go in tablet mode and back in desktop but nothing.- I try to reboot but nothing.- I try to reinstall drivers for trackpad and keyboard and after reboot ... nothing.- I try to go in the bios and wooooo the keybord is working at this point i m so happy i can do my presentation at work tomorow ... I leave the BIOS .. back in windows ... nothing ! What the f..- I try to boot in Ubuntu with a USB LIVE ... nothing !! Oh my G..- I try to FLASH the BIOS with the last version .. nothing .......- I try to reinstall Windows 10 through the one recovery backup ... nothing ...- I try to empty the battery but guess what .. nothing ! I use the word nothing too much at this point and I dont remember what i did  because ofcourse i try all google can offer to me as solution but NOTHING !! My theories :- Sensor who detect switch beetwyn tablet and desktop is broken.- Somewhere in the motherboard there is a memory keep a bad config and someone said me i should reset the CMOS but i dont know how i can do this witheout open the laptop and break the guarantee. If somone have a suggestion or resolv the same issue please help me. In advance thank for all your contribution and read my bad english so far.

I bought Lenovo Yoga 500-14ISK (i7 6200, 8GB RAM, 1TB, 2GB Nvidia). Machine performance is not as good what the specs looks. Machine took quite long to startup initally, when you close lid the machine goes into standby/sleep mode but upon opening the lid machine doesnt show up anything on screen and BIOS setting shows System Memonry a RAM as 0MB.
 
This machine has already been replaced once as it was brand new and found these issues 2 days after buying, they gave me a new machine but new also has same issues. I updated all drivers, windows update and even tried one key recorvery (also windows 10 reset - remove everything). But problems remained same.
 
Upon searching found that it was issues with other Yoga 500 machines too had same issues and there were some URGENT BIOS fixes. Being techinical guy at first thought did not try using the BIOS utility on this machine as model number were different (In list of machine supported this machine was listed). After trying hands on other solutions, I tried running the BIOS utility and it failed (as expected - This BIOS utility is not for this model).
 
I can take machine back to retailer but know the problem even if they give me new machine again will have the problem in that too.
 
The BIOS update are not available for this machine is huge disappointment. Even when tried reaching the LENOVO support in UAE no solution was provided (as they redirected to local service center  which I dont w... Read more

Hi All, I had also bought the Yoga 500 i7 (14ISK), had same issue of closing the lid sending to sleep. What I found was that when I booted the machine first time its BIOS was updated from DC25WW to DC27WW which created all the issue. I some how found same machine with older BIOS which was working pefrectly fine. So I suggest go to below link download and install the latest BIOS i.e. DC28WW as it has resolved my problem http://support.lenovo.com/ae/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/300s-14isk/downloads/ds1053... Please have a look at the supported system in list from above link, or else try finding the BIOS for your laptop model. Hope this helps everyone. Regards,Mahesh

I have Lenovo Yoga 500-14ISK with Intel Core i7-6500U CPU and NVIDIA GeForce 940M GPU. Today when I was playing Rocket League on it while monitoring the temperatures I've noticed that the CPU temperature was max. 94 Celsius degrees and GPU temperature was max. 82 Celsius degrees. This is actually quite hot. Is it normal in this laptop? Are these temperatures safe to it? I was so scared by these temperatures that I've uninstalled that game from my laptop.

Whenever I turn on my Yoga 500 the Lenovo logo and the loading wheel both turn red, then the Windows logon screen, and the desktop are both tinted red. Then after a little while it all goes back to normal. This happens every time I turn it on, I have tried updating drivers and it hasnt changed anything.  Someone please help, never seen anything like this.

Hi,I've just bought Lenovo YOGA 500-14ISK ( i7 8GB 500GB GF940-2GB) and I'm very disappointed with one problem - I've notice that  sometimes when I use keyboard, spacebar does not work correctly. After closer look, it appears that space does not work at all if I press it near its right edge (about 0,5 cm from the right edge of spacebar is a blind spot).It is typical flaw in that keyboard and all laptops of this model works like this, or it is only a problem with my unit and I should return it ?

Answer:Lenovo yoga 500-14ISK spacebar problem

No laptop should be like that. Most likely the stabiliser bar which runs underneath the spacebar (and other longer than normal keys) is not attached at one end.While probably easily fixed since it's under warrenty it's not worth risking anything so just have it fixed or exchanged.

Hello, I have a Yoga 500 14ISK purchased in December 2015. It runs Windows 10. It is failing all over the place. The power up is unreliable. Sometimes it boots, sometimes it doesn't. When it does boot it takes an age. It wont perform a system update of something to do with a "foundation". It merely hangs. And when I tried to check the BIOS I pressed the nova button with a paper-clip and the keyboard lights up but nothing happens. The little white light on the power button is lit but nothing is happening. I have a black screen and nothing else. Is there a major flaw in these laptops? The whole piece of kit looks great but the number of problems with it are unbelievable. How do I get this laptop working properly?

Welcome to the Community Forums. 
 
The integrity on the One key recovery features upon access thru the Novo key may be the issue.
Best to initially run diagnostics to check further. This may explain why it failed booting at some time. 
 
Have us updated on the results , just write down any error code as this may be needed by tech support for decoding.

Hi everyone. So I've noticed this subject being touched on for other models but mine doesn't seem to be listed anywhere plus a lot of the posts are a bit older now...I'm looking for an up date on this issue maybe. I'm looking for a stylus or pen that will go with my touch screen device. My goal ideally would be to use illustrator or photoshop to make simple sketches and even illustrations or paintings. So far a few styli I have tried don't work. The dollar store rubber tip one will draw a wobbly line which is useless while a more expensive Adonit Jot Pro with a clear disk on the tip...hardly manages a continuous line at all.  It also doesn't help that the Lenovo site doesn't list ANY accessories for my device along the lines of pens/styli and half the time the site tells me I have a Thinkpad and half the time it's an Ideapad. And sometimes my model isn't even listed at all anywhere on the accessories drop down! This is my first time switching to a non-mac/apple product and so far I have to say I'm really not too impressed but still hopeful things will work out. My Yoga 700 came out of the box with driver issues as well as a desperate need for a firmware update that would fix ghost touch screen tap issues that kept closing windows... But I guess those can just be called growing pains. I would really like to make full use of my touch screen so I'm looking for a pen or stylus with pressure sensitivity and palm rejection that integrates with illustra... Read more

Hi guys,  Got my yoga last month and it's been okay, bit slow to load from sleep but it's done the job. Only thing is its now in a permanent sleep mode. I've tried re-charging it from zero battery, hard reset, putting the lid up and down, combining that with hard reset too. what to do? Do I have to send it somewhere? Obviously I don't want to open the thing up, I'd rather leave that to a professional. cheers.

My keyboard stopped suddenly working. First the mousepad froze and when I got it working I realized that the keyboard isn't working. When I try to click anywhere it immediately starts typing "zzzzzzz..." and won't stop. I am currently using my laptop in tablet mode. I was able to type a, q and 1 when holding down the letter z, but I updated the bios and now nothing works (I was previously also able to 'disable' the letter z, when holding it down with the buttons next to it). Could it be possible to fix the problem or should I give up and take it to repairs?
