Preferred Solution: when I turn on computer a blue screen appears!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: when I turn on computer a blue screen appears!!

Lets see if Safe Mode works:

Booting into Safe Mode Win 8/10

1. Start your computer
2. When it starts booting, force shut-down

Keep doing this until you see this screen

Now, let it finish, and if it says it is unable to repair your computer, like this:

Click Advanced Options > Start-Up Settings > Restart
When this screen comes up, press f5 to go to Safe Mode

Let us know if you can go to Safe Mode without any problems

Every time I turn on my computer a blue screen appears saying all these error stuff! which gave an error code of wording of USB BUGCODE

What can I do get rid of it? Cause I need to use that computer as there are some files on it I need to access. But I cannot even do anything with the pc because every time I turn it on a blue screen appears.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Answer:help Keep getting blue screen when I turn computer on

ok, first that error code should have a bunch of numbers. Those numbers are important for looking up the actual cause of the error. USB BUGCODE seems, and I'm not sure of this, seems to indicate a possible error with a usb port or device. Do you have any usb devices plugged in when you try to boot up? You might try unplugging any one at a time for each boot up. Without the numbers I can only guess that a usb port has a problem. Hope this helps.

Hi

My desktop keeps showing blue screens. Yesterday I was able to start it up and tried to restore to a previous point, but it wouldn't complete and gave a blue screen. Now I can't turn the computer on without a blue screen displaying. I've pulled out the old laptop to post this. So far I've copied down the info for three of them. They are as follows:

The first one I saw:
REGISTRY_ERROR
TECHNICAL INFO:
0x000000051 (0x0000000D, 0x00000001, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Another blue screen displayed:
0x000000024 (0x00190203, 0x864401A8, 0x00000102, 0x00000000)
And the last one I saw:
0x000000024 (0x00190203, 0x86D79168, 0x00000102, 0x00000000)

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Michael

Answer:Blue screen everytime I turn on computer

Your STOP 24 error...indicates a problem with either a key system file, your partition/file structure, or your hard drive.

See 24 in left column at http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.htm .

The Stop 51 error is somewhat ambiguous, but...since part of the error message indicates a registry problem, I would believe that.

I am operating on Windows XP and my AVG free antivirus is saying that a trojan is infecting the following: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\agp440.sys I have scanned this file with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and the scan says there is no virus present in that file. Lately my computer has been going to a blue screen with white writing for no reason lately saying that there is either a problem with some newly installed software ( i haven't installed any new software i dont think) or a driver or something. This blue screen has been comeing more and more often and right now i am operating my computer in safe mode with networking in order to have the time to write this before my computer would divert to that screen. First i used system restore (about two weeks ago) to a point in time two weeks before the time at which i was using system restore (about a month ago?). however the blue screen came back and started to come more frequently. Recently i resotred my computer to a date 2 months before today and i still have this blue screen (which started showing up about a month ago). Is there anyway you could help me with this???

The title says all. After installing (dont know if it really have something to do) a modem usb and shutting down the laptop, the case, to transport it, i open it and the leds where turn on but no image appears. Then, i decide to force the reiniciate of the laptop, turn it off, and then push the power buttom, but, again, only the leds turn on but no image appears, not even the BIOS. Can someone help me please? Googling i've find two possible answers: i) whether the motherboard is dead. (Though, that will be totally unexpected, it was totally fine, and the laptop only have 1 year and a half. And yes, i have updated the BIOS, but that happent 2 weeks ago, and everything went fine) ii) i have to reset the bios (dunno exactly how to do it. But i keep the live cd of the BIOS which i use to update it. That means that i should use it? Further information: The fans are working, i can hear them.  No beep code. Thanks in advance.   HELP!

Answer:Help please, the leds my t61 turn on though not even the BIOS appears on the screen

Just found the solution.  It was justa matter of performing an electro static discharge, pushing the buttom 10 times in a 30 sec gap. Now sounds silly but im sure will work for someone. Just remenber to unplug any power alimentation to the laptop first, pushing the button in the right intervals (i had to try for half an hour to perform the right pattern) and when you first time boot it after doing these plug in the AC adapter, without the battery (it took me another half an hour for these) cheers.

Answer:Satellite A60-102 - Blue screen error appears on screen and system restart

Which OS you are using?

Maybe it?s a driver problem. Have you checked the device manager for yellow exclamation marks?

A BSoD issue...

PIII Intel 82845 motherboard PC with Win XP SP2.
I had previously installed Vista Pack (thus replacing the Logon UI interface, other start menu etc) However that was removed half a yr back. It didn't quite uninstall Logon Ui. However, that did not pose any problem, as the XP without traces of Vista Pack continue to Boot up (although Logon screen splashed Vista type Logon Ui)..

That was to prepare you for history of this XP installation.

then, few days back, I used a exhaustive program called TuneUp utilities for XP 2008 edition. Somehow, I got hooked into changing Display setting etc. No probs. However, on few tries of changes, I happened to remember I clicked on the Configuration option of , 'Switch to Default Windows XP Logon UI' or something that prompted that TuneUp wants to bypass the VistaLOGON Ui.

After that setup change, the XP goes to boot process. On appearance of Logon screen, which somehow, it still props up old Vista Ui logon, a BOSD appears. STO P error. "Your system has been shutdown to prevent damage to registry."

I tried all options in Safe Mode, F8 button. I also used the "Don't shutdown on bluescreen option" That's how I managed to note down the Registry thing.

It also prompts me to disable 'Shadowing' option of RAM in BIOS. Although I doubt, cause the XP was working fine without any bios change.

I do not hv any backup disk or a bootable XP disk. Though I am having a Win95 partition and can boot to... Read more

Answer:LOGonUI.exe corrupt? Blue screen as soon as Logon Screen appears

One small thing to add: How can i copy the LogonUI.ex_ from a directory created for a XP SP2 file set, to windows\system32\logonUI.exe Is it a command called as expand.exe Is it inside XP SP2 directory. Can it be run from DOS bootup without HIMEM access. Basic DOS? Or is it recommended to boot up from XP bootable CD and run expand .exe to unpack LogonUI.ex_ or just copying internet dowloaded LogonUI.exe for SP2?

So I took the device out and restarted it and the same message appers.

Answer:When I turn on my computer a 104 message appears

Try starting it in Safe mode by tapping the F8 key as soon as you turn it on. Then look in Device Manager and see if there are any yellow warning symbols in the list, tell me what you find.

Also give me the OS and make & model number of the PC.

It happens too fast that i cannot read the message. after logging in this message rises: the system has recovered from a serious error.... and i send the issue to Microsoft. Ok, so I've been dealing with this for monts now and I don't know what's causing this blue screen to appear everytime I try to watch movies on my computer, play games, or listen to music on the computer.
I'll type what the blue screen says:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to preven damage to your computer.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hadware or software manufacturer for any windows upadates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.

And that's pretty much what it says.

If anyone know what's causing this problem and if you can guide me step by step that will be awesome. Thank you!

Computer is using a Celeron D processor i believe, motherboard is a Gigabyte 8I845GVM-RZ has 2 Gigs ram, any other information i can supply let me know and ill try and supply it.

ok this computer has been working fine for a few years now and all of a sudden it just did not have any video on the monitor. I tested the monitor using my laptop and the monitor is working fine, though the vga port.

I took the computer up to my work area and put in a PCI vga card and still nothing on 2 different monitors using the internal motherboard vga port and the PCI card which i know works when tested on another computer. But still no video signal.

The computer appears to turn on. But when it turns on there is no beeping, but the Power light turns on, the harddrive light turns on but stays orange, the power supply fan, processor fan and case fan all turn on and run, the power light to the card reader also turns on. There is also a tiny light at the top of the motherboard which turns on and stays orange when its on, and looks like it says D16 next to the light.

I cannot eject the DVD drive even though it appears to be on, and it does not seem to notice the A drive even when there is a disc in it. My keyboar also does not light up and ive tried both a USB and PS2 keyboards, as well as the mice do not light up.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem or what the next course of action should be?

Answer:Computer appears to turn on but no video on monitor

You have some significant repairs ahead of you...
Replace the hard drive and the DVD drive, and the CPU heatsink and fan... just to see if you can get the rest working...
The orange light is your clue that significant parts have failed...
For a Celeron 845G, there is nothing to be saved to get it working... Time to upgrade to a newer model, which you can still find as cheaply as %125 to $150 if your budget has troubles.

my laptop (hp i7 2.4GHz,64 bit,4gb ram, amd radeon HD 7500/7600m sereies) has been freezing during video playback. The audio stutters or runs out of sync with the video, the video becomes grainy and jumping 3 or 4 seconds at a time. Just generally struggles to cope with the file. It varies as to how long this takes to kick in. Some times it's half way through a film, sometimes within a few seconds. Once it starts everything is painfully slow and I have to reboot. I've also noticed it takes much longer to reboot sometimes. It only starts though when I run video files, this is what seems to start it. Any help gratefully received.

Answer:blue screen appears & pc restarts

Video card, memory, power supply, or cpu fan. Transcend memory has a big marketing push to create a "name", but is barely so-so in our experience. Check the latency and timings. You might want to run the free MemTest86 for four hours or 7 passes to rule out memory as an issue.
Then tell us about your video graphics. That is the most common area for trouble. Which card do you have? Is it PCI-E

Hi all
so I saw this topic : My Blue Screen problem and i thought i had a similar problem but still couldnt solve it. I have vista ultimate 64bit.
so since yesterday im having blue screen all the times, in the begining i could log into windows but after a few seconds/minutes the bs appeared. I don't have any new hardware installed and any new software, but i did know that my NOD32 antivirus has auto updates, i tried to cancel the autostart of NOD in msconfig, restarted but still it appeared so i knew it's something with this. (note that till I uninstall the nod I couldnt enter safe mode- windows loaded the files but never entered safe mode), after a few tries i could uninstall NOD from windows (it turned into bs by the end of the uninstalling) after this I could enter safe mode, so i deleted the remaining folder of NOD thinking that was the problem.
then, i booted up windows normally, then after a few minutes again a bluescreen. i then enter safe mode again and tried system restore to 4/12, after that i couldnt log into windows, always bs, i tried every windows option after pressing F8 before windows start but still i get the windows loading screen then turns into bs.
maybe i did a mistake doing the system restore because it restored it to a point when the NOD still exist then the problem returned...i dont know.
i also tried my windows cd to do a repair and vista recovery cd I downloaded, on both cases I booted from the cd, i got the "windows loading files" screen ... Read more

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.
If this the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your
compute. If this screen appears again, follow these step:

1. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for
any windows updates you might need.

2. Disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS
memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to
remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select
Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Hi,

This is most likely to be caused by RAM.

have you ran Memtest 86 to see if your memory is ok?

For no specific reason (I don't do anything out of the ordinary to trigger it) the blue screen appears saying it needs to shut down my computer to prevent harm etc.

The error screen changes slightly each time, it always begins with
Stop: 0x0000008e (0xC0000005, 0x8059C18D, 0xF89F5CAC, 0x00000000)

The underlined is the error that keeps changing, but it always seems to end with CAC. Sometimes when it restarts a disk chack starts up for Drive D: but it never finds any probIems. I haven't added or installed anything different lately, so I have no idea why this all of a sudden decided to start happening. Any ideas?

Running Windows XP Service Pack 2

Edit - I just removed my external hard drive and it seems to last longer untill the blue screen appears, but it still comes. And still just as annoying.

Hi. My laptop seems to have a problem. People at the IT Helpdesk in my school have told me that my motherboard should be crashing soon. What happens is that a blue screen that dumps physical memory randomly appears when im using my computer. For no apparent reason. What can I do to help my laptop? Is it true that it means my motherboard is crashing soon and I would have to replace it with a new one?

Answer:Blue screen randomly appears

Hi

Is this the same laptop you have popups etc on? as this could be caused by malware so please follow the instructions as best as you can in your thread in the malware forum.

Also what are the BSOD ( Blue Screen ) error codes when this happens as they generally give a clue as to whats causing the issue?

If a Laptop, one cause of random shutdowns are the cooling vents and fans are clogged with dirt and fluff, just check the cooling vents are free from dust.

Hi there

I must express my overwhelming frustration with my satellite M70 laptop as I have it for more than a year now(warranty expired) and almost from the get go it had a problem in wich a blue screen appeared and the pc reboots...from the error report it is a problem with the graphics card and/or display driver.

I did take it to my local retailer for repair but the problem still remains(gone there 3 TIMES! each time waiting for more than a month for repair!and they did send it to toshiba service...)... as the problem doesnt happen *all the time* it seems they just didnt notice or something :(.

I did update all the drivers but it had no effect on the problem...

So now what?? Do I send it to repair and they finally replace the graphics card...but I pay??!!

This is all very upsetting for me as you might imagine...

And know its worse...it seems to be happening more and more...and many times the computer won?t reboot after the bluescreen...it just stays black.

Now almost every time i turn it on it wont boot...the fan will just work for a few seconds and thats it.

Im almost certain the graphics card is defective...can I replace it at home? Argh this just feels wrong, the computer had this problem almost from the start and I sent it for repair...they just did not fix it...I shouldnt have to pay to fix it as I sent it for repair 3 times while it still had the warranty...

Please reply I'm desesperate and have no idea what to do

Answer:Sometimes Blue screen appears on Satellite M70

Hi Joao

> So now what?? Do I send it to repair and they finally replace the graphics card...but I pay??!!

No! Back up all your important data and reinstall operating system using delivered recovery media. After doing this watch carefully if the problem persists. I have the same notebook over one year and it runs perfectly. I have noticed BSOD just two times but both times after installing some stupid shareware programs.

I have removed it from the system and everything was OK again. Please make ?clean? OS installation and post again if the BSOD occurs again.

Hi,

My computer has been working fine for months, this last week it has been on for a few days as it runs as the server in my house with the adsl coming into it. Last night I turned the comp off to attach my parellel port zip drive, when I turned it back on windows xp boots upto the point of the scrolling bar then the screen flashes up blue and the computer resets.

when it tries to boot again it gives me the option of normal, last known good config or safe mode. Normal and last known good config result in the same blue screen and safe mode hangs when loading mup.sys

The blue screen isn;t up long enough to find out whats happened. The computer POSTs fine and I can still access the hard drive if I use a win 98 floppy boot disk.

Its really starting to get annoying as I have some serious deadlines this week and a lot of important info on the comp. Why does this happen just before I decide to back stuff onto CD and not after....??

My system is a duron 1300
256mb ddr
forgotton the motherboard make
onboard sound, vga and network
40gb harddrive
cdrw drive

any help is welcomed

Answer:winXP won't boot, blue screen appears

Try running the repair off your original Windows CD. Boot from the CD & run the set-up XP, select your XP partition, select R to repair let it do it?s stuff it should get you going.

If as you say you can boot from a windows 98 disk, can you see your data if so you must be running a Fat32 partition not an NTFS partition. if this is correct it may be an idea to copy off any important data first.

Answer:Blue screen appears when installing winxp

I have had this happen to me in quite a few Pentiom III computers. The only way I could resolve it was to go int the BIOS and disable ROM shadowing. One PIII I loaded succesfully after putting an older PCI video card into it then putting the newer AGP video card back in after getting XP up and running with SP2.

I have given my sister my old Averatec laptop that has Windows XP on it. While she is using it, eventually a blue screen appears, which is the precursor to it restarting suddenly. It happens so fast that we cannot read what the blue screen says. After it starts back up, we get a microsoft report saying a serious error has occured. This might not help, but I'll list it just in case. The error signature is:

BCCode: 7f BCP1: 00000000 BCP2: 00000000 BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product 768_1

And the error report contents list the two files:

\Temp\WERa375.dir00\Mini112407-06.dmp
\Temp\WERa375.dir00\sysdata.xml

I don't know if this is related or not, but the laptop has lately not been able to run on battery either. It will only run when plugged in. If unplugged, it shuts down immediately.

Is this a virus? If so, is there any hope without reformatting? I accidentally uninstalled the program that contained the OS files when I first got the computer.

We greatly appreciate any help!

Hello, my windows 7 os laptop is giving me the blue screen and stating it must shut down. it gathers data, shuts down and will continue this loop unless I start in safe mode. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Blue screen at start up, just after logo appears....

Hello PetrMcG,1.)  What was new right before the blue screens started (software, hardware, malware, error messages)?2.)  Via Safe Mode with Networking, please gather any minidump files that may be present:

Please create a new folder on your Desktop (suggestion: Minidumps)
Next, navigate to the the Windows Minidump folder.
C:\Windows\Minidump <==  this folder.

Note that the first 6 digits of each minidump file indicate the date ( 032913-10935-01.dmp).
Highlight the 10 most recent minidump files, then copy and paste them (don't drag) into the Desktop Minidumps folder.
Right mouse click on the Minidumps folder, and select Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
A Compressed (zipped) folder will now appear on the Desktop.

When you are ready to Reply,  click on .
Please attach the Compressed (zipped) folder to your next post by browsing to the location of the zipped Minidump folder.Note: The Bleeping Computer Forum has a 512K upload limit on file size.

If not, go to C > Windows > Minidump, zip up your files and upload them with your next post, you may need to copy them to your desktop first.

For years now I have had this problem. Th is morning I had spent some considerable time creating multiple slideshows. While DVD PixPlay was processing the slideshows prior to burning them (which takes hours) I was preparing a cover for the DVD box. This also took time. Without warning the screen went blue and I was informed that Windows was repairing some problem. This only took a matter of seconds then the computer rebooted and I lost all my work. This happens every so often. Why? My computer is quite old. I use Windows 8.

Hey guys,

My computer is randomly doing some wierd crashings and nothing I do seems to sort it out so I have backed up all my files on an external and decided to rebuild. Unfortunately my computer is being an *** in this field too, for when I insert the windows install disk and wait for the "Starting up Windows" caption at the bottom, it comes up with a blue screen of death(which is incredibly infuriating by the way). The blue screen itself says that I should CHKDSK /F and a code: 0x0000007B. I have run a "chkdsk" but the /F seems to elude me. I would prefer to do this in the quickest and simplest way possible but im not sure whether deleting the C drive and starting from there will solve the problem.

Can you guys give me some advice on what to do here?

Thank you in advance

Hi, I have a packard bell pc, running Vista.  It's a few yrs old now but not a bad spec!  Been having problems so I restored it to factory settings after saving all important docs/pics to an external hard drive.  Problem not solved though, worse in fact.  Blue screen keeps appearing.  Startup Repair has given me a couple of different error messages each time it's run.  But not fixed the problem.  The first message said that a patch may be preventing system from starting.  I had a look at updates and there were dozens trying to download. Next time, message said a system configuration problem may be the cause (or something like that). Currently I am using pc in safe mode with networking.  Using google chrome as IE keeps crashing. Can anyone help?

Answer:Blue screen appears repeatedly except in safe mode, help!

What is the problem with my computer??

Answer:Blue Screen appears on Satellite A500-1DN - BCCode 116

Hi mate

I read a lot about the BSOD and BCCode 116.
Some people said that this is issue could be related to the graphic card driver?
Some other people said that this could be a RAM issue?

I recommend removing/uninstalling the graphic card driver and to use the Win 7 default graphic card driver for testing purposes.

You should also check if your BIOS is up to date.
If not, make an update.

I have Windows XP and a blue screen continues to appear even after trying safe mode.
I have a Dell Dimension 3000 series desktop.

I wasn't downloading or installing anything. A random popup appeared yesterday that said something about something being updated and I needed to reboot. I didn't recognize the popup. I want to say it was AVG but I'm not sure. I never rebooted. Today my PC was slow so I rebooted. When I did, a blue screen appeared with alot of information and this error Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

So I rebooted and hit F8 to go into safe mode. This worked and I accessed my PC. I went to system restore and began that process. When my pc powered down and came back up, the blue screen reappeared. It now says "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0X00000024 (0X00190203, 0x823E7C60, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

I can't move past this blue screen - safe mode or not...

Please advise.

Thank you,
Annie

Hi Bleeping Computer,

Recently, Blue Screens of Death have appeared often when I'm trying to shut down the computer, or else it occurs randomly while I'm using the computer.
The most frequent message that appears is : IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Also, I've had a month-long problem of links being redirected on search engines as well. For this problem, I've already tried to solve it with a A squared scan, a MalwareBytes scan, a Adaware Scan, and an AntiVir (the one with the umbrella) scan , but none of them seemed to fix the problem. What I should I DO??

Thanks in advance,
~Obfuscated

Hi, I am running Windows XP. I just removed an abundance of viruses and spyware from the machine. Before removal one problem was the desktop had become white and the options for backgrounds in the display properties window were greyed out.

I have used many spyware utilities to remove all (or what seems to be all) of the spyware / viruses. Including scanning the pc with Avast and Symantec. I've also deleted all the registry items listed in other forums, including the instance of wallpaper.

What is happenin now is when I boot up the machine the desktop background appears but then goes away and I get a plain blue screens with the icons. The background is a standard windows background. I am hijack this log file. Thanks for any help.

My laptop will not boot up to the operating system. I belive this was caused
by accidentally removing a hotfix from my program files.

The error msg the Blue Screen tells me is:

The dymeanic link library winsrv could not be found in the specified path Default Load Path

Any ideas on how I might go about fixing this. I'm running Windows NT Pro.

Where can I find winsrv and how do I get it to the right path without being able to boot up?

Answer:Blue screen appears, not possible to reboot, even safe mode

Have a look at this it may help.
Another possibility is that a RAM module has failed. Either replace it/them or run MemTest to check it out.
However it may be that your HDD is failing of has failed. Hopefully you have a backup of the drive which you can install on a new HDD. If not you could try making an Ultimate Boot CD on another PC and attempting to recover important files to another drive.

I use Windows 98 SE with Internet Explorer 6 and sometimes when I try to open the web browser, I see the DOS blue screen saying, "Fatal exception 06 has occured and the current application will be terminated." Does anyone know how I can fix this?

By the way, in case anyone needs some additional info about my system here it is: my computer has 368MB of RAM memory, a 2.2 MHz CentaurHauls processor, a 4GB hard drive, a Sygate Personal Firewall (Free Edition), and an AVG Free Edition Anti-Virus program.

Answer:Blue screen sometimes appears when opening Internet Explorer

Probably best to check for spyware

SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
AdAware SE http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
SpyBot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their definition

updates and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything they say.

Then run HiJack This http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html , download it and unzip it to its own folder, run it and post a log - DO NOT FIX anything

Hi folks, I am having this following problem with my mothers notebook a Toshiba NB200-10g. Basically it's had a virus or a few viruses the last few days. Downloaded avg and malwarebytes hoping to solve it and it found problems but pop ups were still appearing and viruses being found.

Anyway today it will now upon starting go through to the windows boot up part then as it goes to where the login screen would be the screen flashes blue for the blink of an eye and the error message C000021a comes up about fatal system error and the computer shuts down and restarts x1000

I've read a bit about this problems and seems to be down to the fact winlogon.exe will be missing or corrupted by the virus. I have tried all different modes of starting safe mode, last known config etc. My major issue is I have no usb stick to load anything from and the notebook does not have a CD drive so my options are very limited. Next plan would have to be to take it to the shop tomorrow and get them to run a windows recovery program but the problem is I will end up having to lend her my laptop tonight. Is there anything I can do at all? Tried f2 and f12 to enter bios nothing much I can change. Tried f8 and all the different start up modes no joy. Have I any other options at all?

Thanks

Answer:NB200 - C000021A error and blue screen appears

Hi

Well, it seems you cannot do anything else as to reinstall the OS again.
Maybe the HDD recovery would still be available on the HDD. So try this HDD recovery.
Maybe this Toshiba HOWTo would be helpful:
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=58

If the HDD recovery would not be available, then you could try to reinstall the Win XP using an Microsoft disk in connection with USB stick.

Here you can find more details how to create an bootable USB stick.

Hi, I'd be very grateful to you if you could help me fix my laptop.
In the middle of doing my work at the computer, the Windows XP keeps shutting down and I get this annoying blue screen background with white letters recommending among a several suggestions that I should try restarting my machine in Safe Mode and also consider removing some of my hardware or software that I have installed.
Having already removed some of the programs, this unfortunately hasn't prevented the Windows XP from its further continuous shutting down. First, it was shutting down every 1 to 2 hours, and now it's got even worse shutting down every 15 to 30 minutes on a regular basis.
My friend has asked me to reboot the system. But I don't want to lose all my software and files that I have all over my laptop, like in My Desktop, My Documents, Bookmarks, etc.
If I really have to reboot it, my question is How to save all my programs and files from losing or deletion?
Is there any other solution to this problem rather than rebooting the system?

Many thanks!!

Maybe you should continue to use Vista and you will not have any problems. ;)

Which WXP do you use? Which SP?
Is HDD recognized properly? I mean can WXP installation be started or not?

The whole story is strange. I have A300 too and use WXP and Win7 as dual boot. No problems at all.

Hello there,

I have had a Toshiba A60 satelite for a while. It has been alright up till now, but I get constant blue screens of death, with millions of different stop errors etc, I read around and updated to the latests BIOS, yet still no luck.

I am not sure what to do, it gets the blue screen errors randomly, sometimes the laptop can last an hour or so, then sometimes it goes off quick, please help me ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite A60: blue screen error messages appears all the time

Hi Icesolar

I believe you know that there is no ?magic fix? for BSOD issues. As far as I know it can mostly happen because of preinstalled software. On my unit I have had it just 3 times and always after installing some third part applications.

Have you noticed something similar? Does BSOD started after installing some application? Try to remove latest preinstalled software or roll back the system to earlier time before BSOD starts to appear.

Hi Guys,
I have just spent hours and hours trying to find info and solution for my problem but I have had no luck whatsoever. I hope someone here can help me.

Ok this is the situation.
I have got a HP Laptop that is about a year a half old, its top of the range. I had my laptop in Hibernate mode the other night and the next afternoon I went to turn it back on there was a blank screen for a long time, all the lights on the laptop were on but nothing on the screen. I turned the laptop off and then back on again. and BOOM! The blue screen of death!
The computer starts up with the HP logo and then it pops up a screen saying that a previous attempt to start up had failed and it gave me options to start up in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, start with the previous successfull start config, and normal start up. When i click ANY of these the windows logo pops up for about 3 seconds and then the blue screen, which appears for long enough for me to read 3 letters or numbers at a time. Then the computer restarts and we go through the whole process again.
This is what I have done in the hope of fixing it.

Hi,

I have had my Qosmio X300 for 2 months with no problems till now. I got some random blue screens so checked the driver site and found the Bios update 1.60.

I installed this now the blue screen thing is happening every time I push the machine hard. It does not seem to be getting hot but when I tried the ntune utility to find temps this made it blue screen every time.

I am starting to get a little lost how to diagnose this.
I cannot find the 1.50 bios to downgrade to.
The blue screens are IRQL, Page Fault ect. Seems to be in Adobe CS4, Matlab and ntune i.e. anything which tried to access the mainboard or pushes hard.

I have not installed before the first series of crashes.

Any further thoughts?

What is the BSOD code? Does it give you a system file as well?

Have you updated the Display Driver and BIOS?

Hi all,

I have an xp service pack 2, and just recently when I boot my computer I recieve the message
Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM .

I know how to fix this problem due to other threads. That's why I went to system repair with the xp setup CD.

I followed the steps of putting the CD in, pressing r for repair. But when the time comes to select the type of installation (enter the number) I press number 1, and then I press enter to proceed.

But when I press enter, the blue screen of death appears, and the problem is not fixed.

pleae help, it's my dad's computer and if he finds out he'll be angry at me.

Answer:When I go to the windows xp recovery consol to repair, blue screen of death appears

Hey everyone,

I have a ASUS windows 8 system (64-bit) I bought slightly more than a year ago. After 6 months, I got the Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error blue screen (like this image: ) once in 10 days or so. I neglected to address the problem then. Totally regret it! Its frequency slowly started increasing and today I got it almost once every hour.

It does not happen at start-up like I read in some forums but while I am randomly working. The error message appears and the system automatically restarts. I have a major presentation for school coming up in a couple of weeks and would like to fix this at the soonest.

I ran disk check on my C drive and it said there were some problems and I went ahead and requested a repair. Once its complete and I ran the disk check again it still says there are errors and I initiated the repair again. Not sure if its fixed this time. D drive had no problems. I also ran the memory diagnostics tool - no memory errors were found.

I really really appreciate any help I can get! Thank You in advance

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don?t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don?t Zip each one individually.

Recently I left my 2 younger brothers playing NFS Carbon on my satellite P100-347, preinstalled with media centre 2005 edition, and now it fails to startup.

During the startup process eventually a blue screen is displayed for about a second and then it shutsdown (I manged to make out the words "unable to boot volume" from the blue screen).

I tried booting with an XP media centre DVD but it only gives me an option of reinstalling the OS with a price of losing all my very important data. Normally I would have recovered the system but I don't want to lose my data.

Is there anything i can do other than taking it to a technician?

Answer:Satellite P100-347: Blue screen appears on start up - unable to boot volume

Hi

Well, mostly the BSOD appears due to a hardware problem or serious software issue.
In your case the software problem is possible?

Unfortunately, I think the new OS installation is the best way to get the notebook running correctly.
Now you want to know how to save the data and files? well, I think you should remove the HDD from notebook and should try to connect the 2.5? HDD via external USB controller to another computer. Then you could save the files on the other HDD?

I think, now you know that the regular backups are important and necessary!!!!

Hello,

I bought a new Satelite A100-692 with Windows XP Home OEM as operating system.
But when I tried to get to the internet using LAN and a Proxy-Server, it doesn't work.

I tried everything I knew and even ask in some Forums to get an answer, but nothing help.
Then I think it may work when I install WinXP Prof instead of the OEM Version. Because all of the Clients in our network work very well with it.

But when I start the Setup (booting from the CD) I get (after loading all drivers) an Bluescreen with the message that there is a problem with the PCI Driver (pci.sys).

Can somebody tell what I have to do so that I can install another OS?

Thank you

PS: Apologize if my english isn't that good ;)

Answer:Satellite A100-692: After WinXP Prof installation error Blue screen appears

Hi

Firstly the Blue screen error message could appear because of the hardware fault or serious software malfunction.
In your case I assume it?s a software issue because on the preinstalled OEM version everything worked properly.

Furthermore I have checked the driver?s site and it seems there are drivers for 3 different A100 notebooks. In this case you should be sure that you use the right drivers.
As far as I have checked this notebook your A100-692 has PSAA9E number.

But did you create a drivers & tools CD before formatting the HDD? This option you will find in the Toshiba Assist.

However, you can download the drivers from the Toshiba site and there it?s very important that these drivers will be installed in the right order!
The chipset utility must be installed at first after all service pack installations.
Also the common modules are important.

Answer:Updating video driver.... Safe mode locks up and blue screen appears

What operating system version do you have?

Go here and get the instructions listed under [ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON and RADEON graphics series].

You may want to update DirectX.

Be sure you have the right driver .

Good luck!

I am having a problem where my screen will suddenly go completely black for a few seconds, then reappears, and continues to flash on and off like this probably about 5 times (taking a total of around 30 seconds) and then I get a blue screen of death.

(I think the cursor can still be seen when the screen goes black.)

This happens almost every day I use my computer. It seems the only way I can prevent the system from crashing is if I quickly hit the sleep button before the blue screen can appear.

I am running Vista with all the latest updates. My video card and motherboard are also up-to-date.

This is my video card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125236

Sorry I don't have any info from the blue screen. It disappears almost immediately, and it just never seems like a good time to allow my computer to suddenly crash so that I can try to get the info. =/

Any help on this would be much appreciated. I have been dealing with this issue for a while now. Thanks in advance.

Hi, a small blue windows appears quickly only when the computer is connected to the internet, and then the computer shuts down. The window appears too quickly to read it thouroughly, but it may say something about dumpreg. I've attached the logs, editing the name of one of my friend's folders to "...," as the folder name is my friend's real name. The viruses appear to be in the startup folder, but when I go there I can't find them. Thanks. p.s. I like the caveat that appears in the DDS download about the volunteers at bleeping computer not being paid staff, so common courtesy is appreciated. Must have gotten a lot of disgruntled responses (and maybe still do before from people who want you to "hurry up and fix my bleeping computer!"

I have a Dell Dimension 2400, with a Samsung SyncMaster 731B monitor and here's my problem.  Everytime I leave my computer for a few hours, I return to it and the taskbar has gone to the top of the screen, the screen flickers (sometimes grey, sometimes white, and sometimes black), and none of the programs work on it.  After a couple minutes the mouse cursor will move around the screen but is not able to click on anything.  This has been happening for a few months and everytime it happens the only way to fix it is for me to hold the power button down until the computer shuts down then start it back up (I know you should never do this but Ctrl+Alt+Delete doesn't work and I cant get to the start button).  Once everything gets restarted it is fine, but when I leave it be for a few hours it happens all over again. Here is a video I took of what my computer looks like when i return to it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqf1d0Jy7KkDoes anyone know what is possibly causing this and how to solve it?
