More repliesI recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

More repliesI was on my Y560 Model 0646 checking my email and the computer shut off on me. I went to turn it back on and it does not turn on. The caps lock and number lock light up. Blue tooth, Battery, and Video status all light up above keyboard in status area. None of the fans are going, and it does not sound like anything is running. I tried removing the power and battery and pressing power button a few times. Also tried to remove power and battery and holding down power and nothing. It's almost like it freezes. I can push the mute button and it lights up, but then cannot turn it off. Please help. Laptop just went out of warranty last month.
I'm guessing it is because of the motherboard. Since it is out of warranty can a Y560 motherboard be purchased anywhere? Any ideas? Please help.
7 more repliesMy Toshiba satellite c650d seems to have power...the on button is green. The screen is black, the numbers and caps lock lights are on and wont go off. The disk drive makes the usual booting up noise but that is all she does. Ive unplugged and removed the battery and that did nothing. I cant even turn it off with the on/off button to remove that battery and then turn it on again. I removed and reinserted the memory (both) and I can't take the hard drive out, its held in by a screw. Is my "friend" dead?
If, as it sounds, it is booting up but not ever displaying anything on the screen, check the cable between the motherboard and the screen. It might just be one of the connectors (at either end) has worked loose. With the computer well booted up, move the screen gently down to nearly closed. If you ever see anything on the screen then it could be the cable is faulty where it hinges.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I want to use the "accessibility" option which causes a "beep" whenever I hit the Caps Lock key. I can sometimes get it to work for a few seconds, and then it stops working. Any ideas?
I have tried without success to turn on the 'beep'you should get when using Caps Lock (and Num and Scr Lock) using the correct procedure over and over again. hi SD_musician,
Can you try to:
1. Check this registry fix to disable or enable the Num Lock key at startup
2. Referring to this article, try to press Fn+F8 to enable numlock at the Windows login screen then press the power button to shutdown / restart the PC.
3. Check for an updated BIOS from the lenovo website to fix both capslock and numlock issue (press Windows Key+Rt > type msinfo32 then press Enter to know your BIOS version).
Note:
Backup your important files and follow this readme instructions before updating the BIOS.
Let me know your findings.
Cheers.
I often hit caps lock by mistake, and then end up with loads of caps.I have tried going into Control panel >accessibility option >keyboard tab >select use toggle keysbut it still doesnt beep when I hit caps lock.Any ideas why not?
Has it ever beeped? It may be that you don't have an internal speaker in your PC.I've disabled the Caps Lock key using Microsoft Intellitype (even though I don't have a MS keyboard)click hereIt worked for me by selecting the MultiMedia Keyboard and then choosing the option to disable. It may not work for every one

Hi. I've just had 16 automatic updates installed mostly for Vista security and now the Caps Lock light will not come on when Caps Lock key is pressed. Hopeless!

Do you know when this problem began? Try a System Restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem began. Here's the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html. Be sure to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will have to re-install any software and updates you installed between now and the restore point (yes, I know, all 16 and perhaps others now as well), but you can use Windows Update for the updates. It will notice they are missing and re-install them.
The problem is that one of them may have caused the light problem. It may be best to write down the updates it wants to install (with the KB numbers) and do each individually and then reboot and make sure the light still works before moving on to the next until you find the one causing the problem. Then uninstall that one and just install all the rest but that one. Post back with KB number and name of that update and we'll look into the problem.
Or you can live without a CAPS LOCK light. As a partial workaround, Go to Start / Control Panel / Ease of Access Center / Make the keyboard easier to use and check the box for Toggle Keys. Now whenever you hit Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock, they system will make a sound. As you probably almost never use Scroll Lock or Num Lock, it will basically apply for Caps Lock. Thus though you may not see the light come on, you will at least hear a sound indicating ... Read more
Hi,
On my laptop I don't get the quick image on my screen when I turn my caps lock on/off like I do when I turn my mute on/off, brightness up/down or sound up/down. It's quite annoying as there is no light on my keyboard or anything to tell me so if I have to find out whether I've got caps lock on I have to type something into a text box where the text is visible (unlike a secret password box). It's quite annoying and I'd like to know if anyone can help me with putting something like this on the computer. I've never had it so I don't think anything has been deleted.
Thanks in advance.

More replieshi everyone, I have a hp Pavilion dm4-3011Tx with beats which is about 7 months old. Yesterday I woke it up from sleep and the keyboard lit up and the caps lock light would blink twice every few seconds. I held the power button down and rebooted it and when it started up the fans were running and the light was still blinking. I tried a hard reset and everything and several hours later it started again randomly...A short while later it happened again and this time I was unable to fix the problem. I have already read that it a Bios corruption but I don't know what that means. Can anyone help? Thanks. I have already tried doing a hard reset, taking the battery and the plug out, pressing the windows key and b while turning it on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Your keyboard seems to be damaged. Get it replaced, you're still in warranty I guess.

Hello.
The caps lock light on my HP Pavilion G6-2356sa is flashing. The button still puts the letters in capitals, so it still works, just continually flashing. It's just stopped flashing actually.
Anyway, I've had a Google and all the results I've found say it has a black screen at the same time. Mine doesn't have a black screen, though it did a few months ago, made a thread here.
I'm not sure this is a good sign.
Thanks in advance for help.
Usually a bad sign depending on the number of flashes you receive:

Strangely enough, since updating to 9879, the caps lock light on my keyboard does not work.
I know it may seem small but it is really annoying not knowing when caps is on or not. My keyboard is backlit and the keys light up fine but the light on the capslock key does not.
I'm dualing booting with Windows 8.1 and if I switch back to 8.1, the caps lock button light works fine, so I know the light it self is not the problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I've got a Yoga 11e running Windows 10 and like a lot of people I find the caps/num lock indicator popping up while typing sometimes quite annoying. However, because the keyboard doesn't have an inidicator that lights up when a user turns caps lock on or off I don't want to get rid of it entirely because it's useful. I just hate that it pops up right in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to move the indicator from the center of the screen to the far right or left? All of the threads I've seen only focus on turning it on or off.

Hi
You have suggested that this light doesn?t works since motherboard replacement.
Am I right? In my opinion it's a mechanically issue. Cannot solve it yourself.
In this case I would recommend contacting the ASP again and explain him the situation. Usually the warranty should cover the reparation procedure.
Hi,
I'm having problems with my keyboard again. The Caps Lock key (dim) light remains on and the following keys are not working: 2 @ w s x and the one on the right next to Alt. In the meantime I'm using the on-screen keyboard. I had this problem a couple of years ago, I found a solution online but I forgot what the solution is, so i'm sure is not a keyboard itself.
Thanks
I think you should try re-seating the keyboard's cable to the motherboard.
You would have to remove the keyboard to do it
Can you recall if that's what you did last time ?

If not, then the key itself (or possibly cable) is probably defective. May or may not be an easy fix depending on your experience with the inside of a laptop."Channeling the spirit of jboy..."

More repliesHi, I have HP Pro X2 410 G1 and when pushing the ON/OFF Button,it vibrates as it would be,and instead of turning on the display and displaying the HP logo and so on,it keeps the display black with no led (like it is when the tablet is turned off) and starts blinking white light on CAPS LOCK button,it blinks 1 time, after 3-4 second once more time, after 3-4 second once more time and continues doing so until I turn the tablet off. I turn it off by holding the ON/OFF button for several seconds, and it turns off as usually does when everything is ok (a light is blinking 1 time on the lower middle of the screen ribs and the power goes off) .So I think it actually turns on,but the screen is not showing anything and the system realizes that something is wrong and gives me alert with that blinking on CAPS LOCK button ... I have removed the touchscreen and using the tablet with its HP Pavillion x2 dock station as a notebook. The screen is moving, because the touchscreen must have been fastened to it, but I have removed the touchscreen and only the screen is left.there are times that it turns on normally, but for about 70-80% situations it gives the problem above PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

More repliesMy fiancée's HP G62 laptop suddenly stopped booting. More specifically, when you press the power button, the power light comes on, but the screen stays totally black. I tried doing a hard reset on it (unplug, remove the battery, and hold power button down for 60 seconds), but that didn't work. I tried this multiple times with no success. I shined a flashlight on the screen to see if there was a faint image (indicating a backlight problem), but there is no image at all. I tried connecting the computer to an external monitor, and that didn't work either. Recently I had to replace the fan and the power button assembly on this machine, but it was working fine after that until now.

Hi, First, with reference to the Service Manual on the link below - remove and re-seat your memory module(s). If the above makes no difference try the following. Again, with reference to the Manual on the link below, remove one of your memory modules and then see if the notebook will boot. If it doesn't, try the same module, but in the other slot. If is still doesn't boot, try the other memory module in both slots, to see if any combination will allow the notebook to start normally. The procedure for removing these modules is detailed starting on Page 63 of your Maintenance & Service Guide. Regards, DP-K

Most likely the CapsLock LED is defective. If so this won't be an easy or inexpensive repair.
Probably the most expedient solution would be to install an on-screen CapsLock indicator utility, e.g. Hotkey Features Integration for ThinkPad or CapsLock v4.2.0 ("A utility program that gives an on-screen display and optional audible indication of the keyboard CapsLock key state.")
Hello, I'm currently shopping for a notebook. I stopped by a local retailer to check out the IdeaPad Z580, but there is no indication if the CAPS LOCK is on or off. There is no keyboard LED light (which I would prefer), and there was no onscreen display. I then stopped by another retail outlet, and checked out the Lenovo there also, again no indication if the CAPS LOCK is on or off. I noticed in the download/driver section there is a driver for CAPS LOCK / NUM LOCK on-screen-displayhttp://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028421 Not sure why the in-store Z580 displays didn't work; maybe because they where running Windows 8? My Samsung laptop (stolen) had an on-screen caps lock display, but the icon was very cartoonish and should I say... stupid looking. What does Lenovo's CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK indicator look like?
Lenovo Solution Center for Windows 8 How nice that the Essiantials Lenovo G580 gets this suit, but the IdeaPad Z580 doesn't. I am guessing its something that came installed with my computer when i bought it from newegg, any idea of a similar software that i can install in my other computers.
I like it displaying on my monitor when i turn on my caps or num locks keys
It would help folks here to know more about the computer in question. Brand and model if it is a commercial PC (Dell, HP, etc.) and operating system, or if a home built computer the motherboard make and model, and the operating system used.
If running Windows 7, type Keyboard into the Run box, and select Keyboard from the list that appears. See if there is a Key settings option. If so, select it, and find the Key Settings List. I can't recall where exactly, but somewhere in the list you will find "Display Caps Lock status on screen" . . . make sure it is unchecked. Not sure if this will fix your issue/s or not.
What kind of keyboard are you using? The display issue might be a function of your keyboard, and you might have to adjust the behavior in any software that came with it.
Is there a way to display the caps lock status on screen?

4 more repliesHello, I just got a lenovo carbon x1 and when the computer comes out of hibernation or sleep a symbol that says the caps lock is off appears on the screen for a few seconds. How do I stop it from telling me the caps lock is off after waking it up from sleep or hibernation? thanks
Hi Michaelalex17,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
It is a default setting which shows the ?Caps OFF? for a few seconds, because there is an option to show always or show for a few seconds, we cannot disable the individual on-screen popup display.
If you are looking for the setting. You can go to graphic properties to change, right click on the desktop and go to screen resolution ? Advance settings ? click on On-screen display tab and make the changes for your convenient.
Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

I got a bunch of new computer parts to create my own computer....Here are the specs.
Motherboard: Gigabyte P55-UD3L
CPU:Intel Core i5
VGA: GeForce GTS 250 1GB GDDR3
Hard drive: 500Gb Barracuda
RAM:2x4GB Xms3 (Corsair)
Power Supply: Coolmax 700W CU Modular Power Supply
As the question states when I have everything plugged in i`ll power on and all the fans will turn on the hard drive will turn on and the 4 phase LED`s on the Mobo will also turn on(What do these mean?),but the computer screen will still remain blank and there are no beeps when starting the computer....I`ve tried resetting the CMOS, and also bench installing everything but still no luck everything is brand new and i`m wondering if this is either a PSU problem and i have to buy a new one or if I messed up the Motherboard and need to purchase a new one.....Please someone tell me if there is anything else I did not try yet or tell me what I should do to go about fixing this problem.
I have tried putting only one RAM stick in and still nothing happens.... The thing is that the motherboard won`t beep even if there is NO RAM in there I don`t know what else to do.
How do I find out whether it is the Power Supply messing up or if its the motherboard? Or is it possible that the power supply is not enough to support this equipment?
Please Help Me!!
I have a couple of problems at the moment...
Firstly, some time ago, the volume level display (a green indicator which came onto the screen) disappeared. I have been told that his was due to an update which needed to be done, but which for some reason got rid of the display. Short of taking off all the updates, is there any way of getting this back?
Secondly, the display lights for the caps lock and number lock have stopped coming on. The display light to show the hard disk is being written to is still working, but the other two beside it (caps lock and number lock) just stopped working. Is there some cause for this such as an update, or is it just that the bulbs have gone?????
All answers welcome!
Hi
Regarding the volume control notification on the display;
This volume level notification is controlled by software. Possibly the Microsoft updates influence this notification and therefore it doesn?t appear on the display. I presume some registry keys were changed? but I don?t know exactly what entries could be affected.
Regarding the second issue; keyboard lights;
Well, usually this has nothing to do with the installed software.
I think it could be a keyboard fault? but this is only my personal suggestion?
I don?t know how long the OS is running on your notebook but maybe it would be advisable to refresh the OS to ensure that new installation could helps to get rid of these issues.
I just updated all of my system programs with the lenovo update utility, including the BIOS. Since the update I don't have the ability to see my caps lock, volume control, or the led light indictor on the screen. I need the driver for the HotKeys, the only one I found was for a versioin 6, and it's telling me that version 7 is installed, but it's not working? Any help?

1 more repliesHi, I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to view the On Screen Display notifications such as whether CAPS LOCK is on or off on an external monitor? The external monitor is not a clone, it's an extended screen. I'd like the Caps Lock on or off notification on the external screen. I spend my time looking at the large external screen and continually having to guess if the Caps Lock is on or off!? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello! Since the most recent build of W-10 (9879), my caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock lights do not function on either computer on which I have W-10 installed (a desktop with a USB keyboard and a laptop with an integrated keyboard). The keys still work to correctly toggle the functionality, but the keyboard lights don't work. In case it matters, my keyboard's actual backlights and my mouse's internal light (not the laser, the internal LED) are working correctly, it's just the CL, NL, and SL indicators that don't function.
Anyone have any ideas for fixing this?
Welcome to Windows TenForums, Vaindil.

Yes, I still have an Inspiron 530 after all these years. Was working fine in daily use, no recent hardware (or software) changes. Upon shutdown a few days ago the display briefly showed a checkerboard before turning off, and since then it won't boot.
I turn it on, button goes amber then to solid blue immediately, fans are all spinning, yellow LED shines on motherboard and green LED on PSU lit, HDD makes a few disk-like clicks, but there is no single beep that it always used to make when turning on, and screen stays black then shows "No signal". I've tried switching from ATI Radeon HD 3650 via DVI to built-in VGA port and still nothing,
Screen is good (tried with different computer), power sockets and leads good (switched), I've changed the motherboard CR2032 battery for a fresh one, removed unused cards (modem card, TV tuner card), removed and replaced graphics card, waggled memory cards. No change in any case.
Spec is slightly upgraded from 2009 original, but hasn't changed in months.
Original spec
Core 2 Quad Q8200 (2.33 GHz, 4MB, 1333 MHz FSB)
3 GB (2 x 1024, 2 x 512), 500GB SATA 7200 RPM, media card reader, Vista, DVD+/-RW + DVD drives, IEEE 1394 card, Analogue/Digital TV tuner PCIex1
Upgrades (over a year ago)
Now 6GB RAM, 120GB SSD with Windows 7, and previous 500GB HDD moved to be D: drive.
Upgrades a month ago
Windows 10
Any advice on what to test/check would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Those are excellent troubleshooting procedures you performed.
As there are no 'beeps', there could be a motherboard issue/failure.
Did you remove and replace the memory modules, to see if this made a difference?
No difference, try the following, if you are comfortable working around computers:
Note: The only 100% method of testing a PSU, is to install a known working power supply.Unplug the cord from the power supply, hold the power button in for about 15/20 seconds, open the case, unplug the 24-pin power connector from the motherboard and jump the Green wire to one of the Black wires, reconnect the power cord and power the system, if power supply, case fans and the hard drive run, then the PSU should be good.Note: Do not remove any wires from the plug, use a small piece of wire or a paper clip as a jumper.
Power supply checks out, again disconnect the power cord, hold the power button in again for 15/20 seconds to discharge the residue power, reconnect the 24-pin connector to the motherboard.Remove all PCI cards from the system, take out the video card [if applicable], disconnect all peripherals, except the monitor, mouse and keyboard and disconnect the power & data cables from all drives. Reconnect the power cord and power system on, see if you get a different LED indication on the power button, or 'Beeps'.No difference, remove the memory from the system and try again. Still shows no signs of life then you are looking at a motherboard replacement &... Read more
Hi,
how to disable Caps lock, num lock, scroll lock screen messages?
I have desktop pc with two keyboards usb and bluetooth. Also TOSHIBA Bluetooth Stack software, but in device manager: keyboard > hid keyboard device both using microsoft drivers. And I dont have any software installed for keyboards. Also bluetooth has separate system tray indications (it is also disabled) so its not that. I made some googling and found other fix it with Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\General KeyIndication set to 0, but I dont have it in registry. Acualy I dont have anywhere in registry KeyIndication. So any ideas how to disable it? Thanks
Hi,
You'll find that the messages are controlled by a piece of software that came pre-installed on your machine when you bought it. Try looking for a Hotkey managing app to see if the notifications can be disabled.

I'm using an HP Pavilion dv6000 Notebook series. I noticed that my Caps Lock LED is not working but its FUNCTION is working fine.. same goes with Scroll Lock. Here's the weird part.. when I press Num Lock ( function key + scroll lock ) the LED turns on! I already tried a system recovery, it didn't solve the issue. Is there something wrong with my BIOS? Any help from you guys will be highly appreciated.. thanks!
Sometimes electrical components needs to have all power sources removed and reintroduced to work properly. Try performing a hard reset first, if it doesn't work then try updating your BIOS. If neither works...It's pretty much dead and not worth fixing. To Perform A Hard Reset Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for 5 seconds)Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.
9 more repliesFor some time now, i have been experiencing that my Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock all lights up (not blinking) all at the same time, I tried to google it but i can not find any solutions or explanations for it.
Does anyone know if it is bad? and what is causing this?
I am having a wired keyboard with nothing fancy just a standard issue Logitech keyboard.
Can you toggle those functions off, one at a time? Sometimes restarting the computer will use the last state it was in, I'd fully shut down and pull the power cord from the computer and the keyboard cable then put them back and try again.
2 more repliesI'm a sloppy typist. I don't know if I hit some key combo or what but I was typing a letter in word pad and suddenly my typing is in all caps. I have used a reg file to disable my caps lock key on this laptop because it gets in my way - a long time ago. I know it cannot be the caps lock key. I do not have a shift key sticking.
I saved the letter, then copied it to Polyedit another word processor, and it still types in all caps. Firefox does not seem to be effected. I even tried rebooting and nothing helped.
Clues?
Perhaps this solution?

Hello all- I updated the BIOS to 2.26 a while ago and ever since then there's no on-screen indication of caps lock on/off, screen brightness or volume when I change it. Since it seemed to be affected by BIOS, I updated again to 2.27 just now, but the problem persists. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help. EDIT: Just fixed my own problem. I needed to update the Hotkeys Feature Integration by downloading the utility thingy from this page. Probably wasn't a BIOS thing after all.

Hi Brightnsalty,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per your query we understood that you were facing issue with On Screen Display earlier on ThinkPad T440s.
And we glad to hear that the issue has been resolved after installing Hot key feature application.
I also suggest you to update Lenovo power management application, if the OS is Windows 7, please update Lenovo Power Manager application.

I have a Ideapad Y560P that shut down suddenly and when we tried to turn it back on, the Caps Lock and Num Lock (on F8 key) lights go on but the computer does not start. I saw a similar thread from 2010 but there was no resolution. I assume that the two lights on at the same time at attempted start indicate some kind of "fault" condition in the computer. I have not been able to get the bios to start so that I could run diagnostics. I pulled the battery and held down power for 30 seconds, pressed start twice, put the battery back in but still won't start. I pulled memory out, trying to get a POST "beep" error but that didn't occur. I put memory back in one dimm at a time. I pulled the Hard Drive out and put it in an external enclosure and was able to extract the information to another laptop so I'm pretty sure I didn't have a hardware Hard Drive failure. Other than the one reference in this forum I haven't seen any information about this kind of, what I assume is a, hardware failure. I assume that Lenovo has some kind of guide that tells them what the lights mean. The computer was about six months out of warrenty when it failed. I called Lenovo to attempt to extend the warranty but they won't once it is out of warranty. Looking for some idea of what failed, whether it is worth getting one of Lenovo's listed companies that repair laptops to look at it and fix the problem.

7Caps is a very small application that aims to notify you in real time whether the status of the Num Lock or Caps Lock keys changes
Download it from its home page. TrayStatus also lets you enable status indicator for Keyboard keys.
Not a techie. Can't get straight answer ANYWHERE. New laptops tend to NOT have indicators on the keys. Hoping Windows 10 has indicators that can be turned on and PROBABLY would show up in the tray at the bottom right of the screen.
I have heard of sites where such things can be downloaded but again NOT a techie, so I hesitate to go outside of Windows/Microsoft for downloads. I do not know what download sites are safe or spoofs.
Please plain English ... i.e. go to settings etc. Or just give me a Microsoft approved site for download.

My recent purchase of the above All-in-One PC (running on Windows 10) included the Lenovo SK-8861 keyboard which has no lights for the CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK keys. How do I get them to be displayed on the screen when pressed? When I went into Display Settings in Control Panel, I could not find the option to set them on or off. so, based on the instructions on https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht002122, I installed the Hotkey driver from http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/downloads/ds031814. When I now go into Advanced Settings under Display Settings and click on Screen Configurations, I can see the Enable on-screen display checkbox and the Appearance settiings but the expected Indicator Settings for NUM LOCK and CAPS LOCK aren't being displayed as expected. Can anybody advise what I need to do to enable these settings? Lenovo On-Screen-Display is listed under the Installed Programs in Control Panel. Many thanks.
I do not have an answer for how to enable them via the control plane, but I can point you to a free tool called Keyboard LEDs that I have used in the past that when installed will put an indicator in the system tray, and will sound a tone and display on screen if so configured in its settings.. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Hi
Are you able to disable the CapsLock and NumLock?
Can you access the BIOS pressing F2 while powering up the unit?
If this does not work, I would recommend checking an external USB keyboard.
If the USB keyboard would functions, then this means that the internal keyboard is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Well, I have no idea what caused this but the tablet buttons (even the on/off button) the lights for caps lock and scroll lock as well as the automatic screen orientation change when I flip it to be a tablet have stopped working. Also the screen does not turn off anymore when the lid is closed. Reinstalled pretty much all of the drivers, no effect.Any ideas? Is this thing already broken?
well, SOMETHING is broken.. though it would seen unlikely it is hardware.. a question: did you load anything new just before this happened..?anything at all..scanner drivers or printer drivers or a new application..? OH!, welcome to the lenovo community..!

Hi Thisismyname01 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
On a similar G50 , this was resolved by uninstalling Energy Management .
Another steps that was advised :
1. Opening Control Panel >Program and Features>Uninstall a Program and look for Caps OSD or Lenovo OSD
2. On the display properties of the graphic card , you may also configure to "Show indicator for a few seconds" .
3. Disable hotkeys from the BIOS ( but this may change all other usable hotkeys ) . Lets's reserve it a last option.
Update us what works for you.
