I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: windows 10 insider update 10.0.10586.164

The Threshold update line (10586.xxx) is no longer available. All 3 rings are now Redstone (14393.xxx) which is not available for your device.

In a surprise move (to me at least), Microsoft has issued a Cumulative Update to holdouts who turned down the Anniversary Update or those who were unable to Update due to technical issues. This Update offers a whole package of fixes and improvements. Microsoft pushes out batch of cumulative updates for Windows 10 | Windows Central Issues? Bugs? Solutions? For all things Build 10586.589 of Windows 10. Discuss it here. Basic tip
If you're having any issues with your device, try a reset.
Settings > Update & security > Recovery > Reset this PC > This provides you with two options: 1. keep my files and 2. remove everything Keep my files
Does just as its name describes. If you choose the setting you can reinstall Windows 10 without having to back up any of the pictures, videos, music and documents that you have stored on it. You absolutely should back up these things just in case, but you shouldn’t need to use that back up. Keep My Files requires a certain amount of free space on your device. As such, it may be unavailable to you if your device is stuffed with a lot of files. If you get an error message asking for more storage when you choose this option you’ll need to back up your files and choose the remove everything option. You could also delete any files that you aren’t using on your device and try the option again. This option will take longer than the other options. Remove Everything
Deletes every file, every setting f... Read more

Hi everyone,

We have another Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586 which we?re releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast and Slow ring.

This build continues to address feedback we?ve received from Windows Insiders as well as customers using our brand new Windows 10 phones like the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. As with the previous release, this Cumulative Update continues to use the minor version for differentiating between each version ? so this build will appear as 10586.36.

Hi everyone,

Here are some things we have fixed:

The issue where any audio playing (like music from Groove, or videos from the Movies & TV app) gets reduced by 75% for a period of time after a notification pops up from Action Center is fixed.
Pressing the power button on your Surface Pro 3 should put your Surface Pro 3 to sleep instead of shutting it down.
We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.
Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN ? it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.
We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.
Small form-factor devices, like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, that boot with rotation or virtual mode screen size set larger than the physical screen size should no longer experience a bluescreen on upgrade.
Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.

My motherboard died, and I had to get a new one. I bought the same model. The rest of hardware on my PC remained the same. After that upgrade my Windows 10 isn't activated any more.

I don't have Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 licence, but I am early Windows 10 Insider, and I recieved free Insider builds. They had expiration date, so I had to keep ugrading to new builds, and stay in the Insider program to retain my free "licence". I was doing so, and I provided feedback to Microsoft about every build.

I was hoping that "minor" hardware change wouldn't affect my Windows 10 activation, because all Insiders should have free "licence" that is tied to my Microsoft e-mail account?

Now my Windows 10 Insider 10586 build isn't activated. How can I activate it? Shouldn't all Insider versions be free?
Should I sign for Windows Insider program all over again? I'm bit confused. Please share your thoughts about this.

Windows 10 licenses are not tied to Microsoft accounts. Windows 10 licenses are tied to either the Hardware ID of the computer (digital entitlement), or tied to product keys (purchased retail and insider previews activated with a provided product key).

Windows 10 build 10586 is not an insider build. It is the full RTM build released as the November update. You can call Microsoft and they might give you an activation. You can rejoin the insider program because when you clean installed the RTM (not insider) build 10586, it would not have automatically kept you in the insider program, but I doubt that will get you an activation. All of the insider builds I got between build 10240 and build 10586 were activated based on my digital entitlement obtained from upgrading from Windows 7 and not insider product keys.

Installed 10586 / 1511 from ISO obtained from the Microsoft downloader thingy before it stopped providing it. The OS works great, but I cannot get Insider builds?
I have been in the insider program for desktop and phone for 2 years now or whenever it started. I installed this version since installing the legit 10200 version never activated me, so at least this one let me use my windows 8 cd key.
Either way im happy with everything except the fact no matter how many times i press the fix button and reboot it will not let me sign up for the insider program.
The following pics show the process, i join the insidr program, it asks me to reboot to fix it, then upon reboot im back to square one.

Answer:Insider fail after 1511 / 10586

Um, that's because there isn't any insider builds, 10586 is the latest build for everybody...

I just finished upgrading my desktop to build 10586, and found that preview builds are disabled by default.

When i go to Preview Build settings and click the "Get Started" button, an error window pops up with the following error code:

0x80072EF1.

Anyone else with this problem?
And if yes, could this be a server side error?

Answer:Cannot reenable Insider Preview Builds after upgrading to 10586.

Maybe I am missing something here.

You said you had finished "upgrading my desktop to build 10586".
If that is so, you won't get the option "Get started", because you are already in the Insider Preview build program.
You will get this instead......................

I have Insider Preview 10525 installed on a dual boot system with openSUSE. Windows 10 is activated. However even though I'm on the Fast Ring I haven't gotten any updates or new build for quite awhile. I use WSUS to get security updates.

I downloaded Windows TH2 Build 10568 from the "official" Windows 10 News site (Microsoft - but uses MEGA servers) which posted today.

Windows 10 boots fine but says to install Windows from my installed copy - fair enough.

When I run setup.exe from the DVD I get the helpful message "Something happened" - real informative. After trying several times I get to the license page and skip the updates (this caused the helpful message above. I skipped the product key entry since Windows 10 was installed and activated. Then I get the refallyh bizarre error that the installer cannot determine if I am running Windows 10!

I have almost 97 programs installed and working great so I'm not going to do a clean install. I probably can't return to build 10240 if I use the recovery mode but I'm almost ready to try to revert - if I can - since I have an image created by the AOEMI Backupper program which has restored system backups many times when I or Windows screws up.

Does anybody have any idea how I'll be able to install build 10586 - since apparently the normal Windows 10 update in Settings is not going to work.

Answer:Can't upgrade Insider Preview 10525 to TH2 Build 10586

When Windows 10 was originally available I managed to update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 - with problems sending me back to Windows 7 several times.

The windows upgrade assistant says my desktop is on Windows 10 update 10586 and updates up to 15063 are available.
I have tried to update several times and am continually returned to version 10586.

On clicking on update an update downloads (originally taking over 24 hours to do this - I am in the country on a slow broadband connection).
Then clicking on install always ends up with a frozen screen at 87%, despite removing printer and any other cables attached.

Can anyone help please?

Answer:Windows will not update after 10586

Hi,
First, I would advise you to take due precautions (this should be something most people do routinely as all regular contributors here do).
Things can go badly wrong- at any time, not just when upgrading.
Create (or update if already using it) a disk image to a large enough external drive.
E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot disk + external storage for disk image sets - use option Backup, Windows Backup.

With disk images you can
- recover to a new disk if your disk fails
- restore to a new PC if if is stolen
- restore an unbootable PC to a previous working state
- extract files from the images - a complete backup
- etc..

Second, to avoid the repeated downloads, and give you control, and also a useful bootable Win 10 medium - for certain types of repairs- please do this:

================= Manual installation ===========
1. Get the iso file
Download Windows 10 ISO File Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials
2.
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10 Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials
- (or, simpler, a DVD if you have a DVD drive)
3. When ready, attempt the upgrade
Upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials

Third: a number of people have found the update failing in this way. Two causes I've noted (many possibilities):
1. Disable Defender if using it - or uninstall any AV you are using.
2. Weird partition structures.

Try (1) and also please post a screenshot of Disk Management
Windows key + X, click Disk Management

Got a new Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion 15 Notebook in June. Upgraded to Windows 10 in August without problems. Since then have had issues with programs not running, lost Start menu and search option (a common problem I know). I just worked around them, however now the Bleeping thing won't update to the new build. I have even tried the Media creation tool work around but nothing seems to work. If I go through Settings>updates it goes through the whole rigmarole up to restarting then when I check it's still build 10240. When I tried the Media creation tool work around it went so far then told me that the update had failed. Has anyone had same/similar issues?

Answer:My laptop will not update to Windows 10586

A workaround is to download the ISO of the edition of Windows 10 you have (Home/Pro/Enterprise), mount the ISO and run the setup. That is a really clean way to get the 10586 build.
Another thing that you can try is to boot into Safe Mode and clear out the contents of the SoftwareDistribution folder. But personally, I'd prefer the former method.

The irony. People whine 'cause Windows 10 won't let them disable automatic updates, and I can't get them to work on my PC. Hah.

Anyway, so the story goes I decided to look up Forza Horizon 3 on the Microsoft Store to see if the demo was out. And while it shows up in the search list, when I try to bring up the page it says "The thing you're looking for isn't here". I did some digging and it turns out I need the Anniversary Update for it to work, whatever that is.

After consulting a friend who has the4393.105 version of Windows 10 (latest one, according to him) I realized that I'm several updates behind, as my OS is version 10586.545, which doesn't even include the necessary Anniversary Update.

I didn't do anything to disable the updates, nothing that I know of. I disabled Windows Defender, but that was right after upgrading from 8.1 back in March and I did receive updates afterwards up until the beginning of August. Also "Check for updates" says I have the latest version.

Dell PC running Windows 10 version 10240 has not automatically updated to latest OS. Check for new updates does not show update to version 10586.
I didn't want to lose my apps so downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and ran setup. Everything seemed to go OK until the PC restarted when the screen displayed 'Updating Windows' and at the point when it indicated all files had been uploaded and started to install drivers I got the message:
0xC1900101 - 0x30018 Failed FIRST_BOOT phase error during SYSPREP operation. The process returned to W10 build 10240.

I've run sfc /scannow and DISM... to no avail.

Why do I need build 10586? It overcomes a problem when using a Logitech camera with integral microphone that does not work.

Answer:Windows Update not showing W10 Build 10586

windows update not showing build 10586. Have 10240 installed. Tried installing w10 whilst keeping apps using ISO disc to no avail. Got error 0xC1900101 - 0x30018 Failed FIRST_BOOT phase error during SYSPREP operation. Returned to previous version.
Tried sfc /scannow and DISM ... without success.
Also tried resetting Windows Update using a script but that's not worked either.

I've tried everything like hard reset, dis-enrolling from insiders but nothing came helpful. I am using lumia 520.

Roll back to 8.1 via WDRT, install Insider app and then update. Maybe you don't have enough space on phone...
Edit: Just saw that you made hard reset, so space shouldn't be the problem. Try with roll back.

Just updated my desktop PC with Windows 10 November Update 10586 on 11/24/2015.
For next few days, it worked fine.
I found 3 problems today, 11/28/2015:
- Internet Explorer Edge icon is no longer available in taskbar.
- Everything is working very slowly.
- Left mouse clicking on Windows does not work; Start Menu with Live tiles does not pop up.

Every time I try to install this update, this "Windows needs more space" window pops up to tell me to 'fix the issue'. However, whenever I select an external drive it doesn't do anything, and installation is stuck on 41%. How do I solve this issue?

Answer:Cannot install windows 10 update 1511, 10586

Best to make sure C:\ drive has enough space. Check file Explorer to see how much is available. If not enough then transfer data to an external drive to start with. Run disk-clean-up from Control panel, administrative tools, and select everything to delete. Will run twice and if there is a Windows.old folder/s then tick the box/s. Make sure you have everything backed up first though.
That should leave enough 'memory' on your hard drive to upgrade.
Note it will take a few hours to upgrade and at times will not show any activity. Just be patient and let it do its own thing. Once you log in on final reboot it will then start applying all the programs, or 'Apps', and will again take some time.

Has anyone noticed increase in CPU after updating Windows 10 yesterday? My pc has increased from a normal 0% to 5% when not being used to 5% to 10%. In trying to figure it out, it seems part of the usage may be, due to: audiodg.exe, dwm.exe. speechruntime.exe and interrupts. Not sure why this is going on, but am a little concerned. Appreciate any insight about this which you might offer.

Answer:CPU Increase after update to Windows 10 Build 10586

I haven't had an increase. Have you ran updates again, and rebooted?

please help

Answer:Trying to update windows 10 to the latest version 10586

If this is about the mobile version then yes it does appear to get stuck for a while before jumping forward rapidly. Give it sometime and be connected to the internet during the entire period. If it still doesn't progress then you might have to start fresh, i.e. rollback to 8.1 stock and then upgrade to 10.

Windows 10 update to 1511, 10586 freezes at "Preparing to install updates 32%".
When this happened I did a search and followed the following:
ran
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
Restarted and tried deleting all in c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution but some wouldn't, so..
Restarted, stopped the above processes and successfully deleted all under c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
Reran the update.
"Checking for updates" took 10 minutes and then it stopped with "There were some problems ...."
Clicked Retry and off it went for about 35 minutes until freezing on "Preparing to install updates 32%" once again.
I left it for another hour but no change to 32% (in fact its still there now).
Ive been running Windows 10 since August without an serious problems.

Seems to me you were using Windows Update to install Win 10 10586.
If yes, suggest that you try one of the following links and give it a try...............

Media Creation Tool :
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Tech Bench :
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench

My suggestions : assuming you are trying to update Win 10 10586 from an "older" Win 10 version.
1. Download the ISO from the link > save it to your computer.
Then RIGHT click at the ISO file > click Mount > click Setup.exe > installation will begin.

I used the Media Creation Tool to perform the update to 10586. I have W10 Pro x64. All appears to be fine except for one thing. When I go to PC Settings|Update & security|Recovery and click on 'Restart now' my PC does an ordinary restart. It no longer shows the Advanced Options menu. Anyone else have this problem?
In fact none of the alternate ways ways to get to the Advanced Options menu work. Windows in all cases does a normal restart. Thanks to Brink here are all the ways to get to the Advanced Options menu:

Answer:Still can't update to windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586.

You had been using Windows Update which you have failed to install 10586.

Consider trying the other method also recommended by Microsoft itself.
Download the Media Creation Tool (MCT)

Make sure you select the same language, same bit version and same Windows Edition as the one you are now running.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Once it is downloaded, run the Tool > select Create installation media for another PC.
That will begin downloading the ISO file to your computer.
When it is downloaded, right click at the ISO file > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
That will begin installing.
You have the choice of keeping your settings, files and apps, or keeping nothing.
No product key is required.

It's Patch Tuesday, and that means software updates for all. New cumulative updates are rolling out for Windows 10 PCs, tablets, and phones, bringing the build number to 10586.318.

It's available for everyone, including non-Insiders as well as Insiders that are using the Release Preview ring. This update skips over the last one - build 10586.240 for PCs and 10586.242 for Mobile - which shipped to the Release Preview ring, but never to Production.

As with most cumulative updates, there are no new features. Instead, the new build focuses on fixes and stability improvements.

Here's what's new in build 10586.318 for PCs:

Improved reliability in a number of areas including Cortana, Bluetooth, Shell, Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge, Miracast, and USB.
Fixed memory leak that occurs when opening a portable document format (PDF) form multiple times.
Fixed issues with text alignment for right to left languages in Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge.
Fixed issue that affected Bluetooth function when a PC resumes from sleep.
Fixed issue where user accounts weren't locked out after a number of failed sign in attempts.
Fixed issue with revised daylight saving time.
Fixed issue that sometimes corrupts CompactFlash cards inserted into a card reader.
Fixed issue that caused recorded video to be lost when answering an incoming call on some phones.
Fixed issue that could result in unexpected battery drain while the phone screen is off.

Hello All,

I am trying to update my son's CL10-B-103 with Windows 10.0 (build 10240) to Windows 10 build 10586 but it won't work until now. Please, I need some help.

I am using a Kingston DataTraveler 100 G3 32 GB USB Stick because the storage space of the built in 32GB HD is not enough. The download went successful, also the preparation. But after al long waiting, at about 8% total, the CL10-B-103 reboots after which the message "place the external storage and press OK" appears (https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread....ght=cl10-b-103). I was able to press OK, but then the system is recovering to the old Windows 10 version (build 10240).

And this after several times the same.....

At this moment I am not able to update the laptop the latest Windows 10. Please, am I doing something wrong? What is this?

Many, many thanks in advance!!!

Hi,

my first post here since i start to be pretty desperate. My Win 10 (version 10.0 Build 10240) has downloaded and installed version 1511, 10586 now already five times. Every time it asks to reboot to finish the upgrade there pops up a window in the lower right corner that says "We couldn't finish installing updates - Select this message to learn more". When i select it, I'm taken to the Update section where it says my computer is up to date. And when i check for updates it always finds the update version 1511, 10586 again. And prepares to install, and starts to download (takes for ages), and actually installs. And then again asks to reboot. And fails.

I hope there would be some solution to this, I upgraded from Win7 and this has been working until now. I REALLY hope I don't have to go back to Win7 and lose tons of installed programs. Any help appreciated.

MS made me update a couple of days ago. I just discovered this morning that it disabled Norton 360. It also removed CCLeaner, and turned off my Norton firewall. I have to reauthorize some other products but my main problem is that I don't know if I have antivirus anymore..
I try to turn Windows Defender on and it tells me that it is off but I have no option t turn it on. Norton wont open, is no longer on the bar at the bottom but is listed in "APPs", but like I said, wont open.
I tried to reinstall but I get a popup in the lower right telling me that Norton 360 wont run on this version of Windows.
It comes free with Comcast/Xfinity and has always worked well, until now. I did manage to turn the Windows firewall on. I set the default browser to EDGE, which I DO NOT like because it rearranges all of my favorites.
I cannot find an answer. I am just about ready to move to a MacBook for regular use. I have an offline computer for audio work. I have not upgraded it to W-10 and frankly I'm scared to. It has no antivirus because it has no email and very limited online use... ok, I digress.
What do I do to get Norton Working?
I posted the question on the Xfinity board and will on the Norton forums.

Thanks for any help.

Fails to Upgrade to Windows 10 v.1511, 10586

Just in case anyone has been having the same problems......I've been stuck for a week trying everything to solve the Novermber Windows 10 update freezing at 32% and 6% on the features and drivers update part. Tried everything I read on forums, and nothing worked....UNTIL: I remembered setting via BIOS for the display to always use my NVIDIA K1000M video graphics card - this was to allow me to use multi-dsiplays and watch a movie on my HDTV. After re-setting via BIOS to use the integrated Intel display, the Windows 10 update passed this 32% limit and installed properly. I had also disabled anti-virus, non-sessntial startup programs, and non-windows services, but I think the BIOS setting was what finally did the trick. I also used the Windows 10 1511/10586 64-bit ISO available on Microsoft's website, since my failed Windows Update item was long gone...

I have been trying for a full week now, to no avail. Whenever I apply the update, it goes to the "Restarting" screen...and gets stuck there indefinitely. Even after a few hours, it's still on that screen. So ultimately I have to force shutdown my PC (after which I can use it as per normal). I also do not believe I have any malware on my PC (have scanned multiple times with Kaspersky just to be sure).

I had updated to Windows 8 > 8.1 > 10 on this same PC before and never faced a single issue. I also never mess around much with default system settings.

Meanwhile, for my laptop, the update went extremely smoothly.

So can someone please help me out here?

I have been dealing with this for a long time now and I am sick of it. I have tried everything I can think of to get this update to install but it just won't do it. I even googled some information on people stateing to use the mediacreationtool to fix the issue however I can not do this because I am on a 1.3MB internet line and before the tool is even halfway done downloading the system auto restarts because of the already waiting update. I can not cancel it or stop it so the mediacreationtool has to start over. This is a really big issue now because the window update on the system no longer allows me to extend the update time and is restarting the PC every hour to try and update the system. PLEASE HELP!

Fails to Upgrade to Windows 10 v.1511, 10586

Firstly, I have bought a Laptop which including Windows 10 OEM from factory then I add SSD and Clone HHD which have a licence (all of disk to SSD). After that, I have been trying to up version to be 10586, during updating version in update sitting were normally and done by no any problem then it needed to restart and I did it. After windows has restarted show message as the figure The version in my laptop still shows the old version, so I tried to solved the problem by reading this Fails to Upgrade to Windows 10 v.1511, 10586 (Nov.update)! that have a same problem. However, I could not fix this problem.

How can it fix it out. (Even my laptop has been remoted by Microsoft support for 2 hour that he tried to fix but he could not as well)

Hi folks,
I recently updated my Lumia 1520 to update 2 via windows insider trick. Now I pretty much want to receive normal updates that are pushed to my device in the future and not windows 10 TP and all. So can u guys suggest me what to do in order to receive normal updates? Currently the update setting shows windows 10 update ready to download... Is there any trick that can help me?
Thank you.

Answer:Some help regarding wp 8.1 update 2 (via windows insider app)

I believe you will have to hard reset the device since you aren't supposed to stay on Update 2. It was supposed to stay there for a little bit, then upgrade to 10 automatically. Erase the device to "forget" that whole plan.
However, there may or may not be a less destructive solution since while I know when the device is asking to install it's too late, but I don't know about asking to download.

Hi Folks. Last summer I updated Windows 7 to Windows 10 Threshold 1 10240 on this old Asus P5LD2 motherboard based system I use for testing from time to time. I just updated it to Threshold 2 10586, and now I find I can't access BIOS boot settings anymore via the F2 key.

The only solution I can find on this refers to disabling Secure Boot in articles like this one or like this one that involves systems with a UEFI based BIOS.

Everything I can find refers to restarting Windows 10 and selecting:
Troubleshoot > Advanced Options: UEFI Firmware Settings
However there's no such menu when I go there since there is no UEFI on this old CSM based motherboard.

Has anyone run into this issue and perhaps found a solution?

Thanks for any feedback.

Answer:Can't access Asus P5LD2 BIOS after Windows 10 update Threshold 2 10586

The fast boot is the issue, even on non UEFI BIOS'.

One option is to boot up then "Restart" and on the restart you can access the BIOS.

I've tried to install this multiple times: Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, version 1511, 10586

Here's what I've done so far to try and fix:

Code:
sfc /scannow
multiple times as admin. No errors reported.

Code:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow
I've checked the Windows logs but didn't find anything.

When Windows restarts I get the Windows logo, but it then goes to a blue screen and asks me if I want to restart, or reset my PC. I restart and then I get a message saying the update install failed.

Answer:Windows 10 Pro, version 1511, 10586 update fails multiple times

Try this if you have not tried it (you do not say)

Windows 10 updated my old HP laptop to OS Build 10586.11 yesterday. Up until the update the laptop ran perfectly. Then after the update I found my keyboard and mouse locking up on me many times since then. It does not seam to make a difference on what application is running at the time. Unfortunately it requires most of the time a reboot and sometimes I get lucky hitting control/alt/del and it brings it back to life.

Has anyone out there been experiencing this problem since the upgrade?

Answer:Windows November update OS Build 10586.11 keyboard and mouse locking.

Good news my Laptop keyboard and mouse has not locked up, however I don't know why.

Hi,

After I updated to the latest Windows 10 "upgrade" (Build 1511, 10586) released yesterday thru Windows Update, my system shows only the Wi-Fi icon on Taskbar instead of the Ethernet Network icon which it used to display earlier. I have a wired broadband connection, and keep my Wi-Fi Adapter settings "Disabled". Yet, the icon shows the Aeroplane mode of Wi-Fi icon on Taskbar, instead of the Network icon it used to display before this update. At times my wired BB connection tends to become unstable, so I need to keep track if the connection is down, before I do some critical activity on Internet, like large download (which I may be unable to Resume), or Netbanking or online shopping, etc.
How do I get the Network icon instead of the Wi-Fi icon on the Taskbar in the new Build 1511 ?

Thanks

Answer:Network icon disappeared from Taskbar after Windows Update 1511 10586

Navigate to Settings>System>Notifications and actions.
Click on Turn system Icons on or off.
Check if the Network icon is turned off

Plz help me...i don't know the difference between windows insider and update advisor.
I updated my lumia 640 by windows insider...is there any problem?
Plz help me

Answer:Windows insider vs update advisor

Update adviser is to let you know whether or not your phone is compatible and for when MS/Carrier have the official WM10 update ready for your phone. Windows Insider is so you can preview pre release builds of WM10 on your device. Which ring did you choose? I updated my wife's 640 to the insider release preview ring for the .242 update(which will be more stable than the slow or fast rings) then removed her from the insider program so she'll get the next production release. I hope this makes sense, let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

Hello!
I am enrolled in the slow ring of the windows insider preview. I have a Lumia 640 . The internal storage available in it is 7.28 gb. To update, it requires 1.22 gb. I have removed all apps and documents I could have removed. Now only system does and the (uninstallable) Microsoft apps are left. How do i get the else required to update?
PS: The mail+ messaging shows it is using 103mb space. Can that be removed?

Answer:Windows 10 Mobile Insider Update

Im currently using 6.12 gb of 7.28 gb. It says i require 1.22 gb which comes around 6.06 gb. So i just need about 70 mb more space

Answer:When will 640XL get Windows 10 update Officially (not insider's)?

You'll wait a few months for a device from MS with similar specs. However, there have been several new models released that run W10M. If you're not particular about getting a microsoft branded phone, you could purchase one assuming it is available in your region
You could also test with insider after buying 640xl. But you'll have to do upgrade process carefully. Check the forums for guidelines

I like many others have been having a problem getting my Windows Update set up to get insider builds. Even though I had signed in using my Microsoft account, I get getting the "Fix me" button which gave me a message about stopping insider builds. I think I identified the problem. I did a clean install of 10162 on a spare drive as a stand alone system. Update told me I was all set to get insider builds. Then I reattached my drive with Windows 8.1 and set it up for dual boot. As soon as I did this I got the infamous "Fix me" button. I then disconnected the Windows 8.1 drive and update told me I was once again all set to get insider builds. Strange - when Update sees another windows install on my system, it disables insider builds.

Answer:Problem with getting Insider Builds thru Windows Update

Yup that is unfortunately what happens if you dual boot with another version of Windows.
I get exactly the same scenario dual booting Windows 10 and 7.
If I want to update Win 10 I have to disconnect my Win 7 drive then all goes well until I reconnect my Win 7 drive and boot up, then follows a sequence of CHKDSK.

the only way to update my lumia 535 to windows10 ..is to use windows insider??

Answer:The only way to update my Lumia 535 to Windows10 .is to use Windows Insider?

Yes.The Windows mobile 10 are not released yet,and if you want w10 the only way until now is via insiders.I'm an owner of Lumia 640 xl dual sim,and I dont know how 535 works but I tell you to download the w10.They are so good and smooth from the last 2-3 updates. In the app you can choose between slow-fast.And if you don't want to get fast and with buggs updates choose slow.
IF you wanna to try the last update just use fast.

Hi everyone,
Before heading off for the holidays I wanted to give a little bit of an update on how things are shaping up for Windows 10, especially since we don?t have a build for you this month. I know that some of you are disappointed that we didn?t release another build (though we know some of them escaped?.I?m looking at you 9888 & 9901?)* but now that we?ve announced our event on January 21st I can finally explain why we didn?t. We?ve been very hard at work putting together a great build for you that includes a bunch of new features and improvements. As all of those payloads came in we needed to stabilize code, fix any integration issues, and ensure all of the new UX is polished. We?re really focused on making the next build something that we hope you?ll think is awesome. In fact, just so that we have a *daily* reminder to ourselves that we want this build to be great, we even named our build branch FBL_AWESOME. Yeah, it?s a bit corny, but trust me that every Dev that checks in their code and sees that branch name gets an immediate reminder of our goal. We?re super excited to show you what we?ve been up to! Look for a follow-up blog post from us on where to tune-in to the live webcast on January 21st.

This Windows Insider thing seems to be gaining momentum

We have over 1.5 million registered Windows Insiders today which is amazing, and about 450k of you are what we consider ?highly active?. In other words, you?re re... Read more

Answer:Windows 10 insider build update stuck on 80%

The Insider Previews aren't stable releases they are test builds... you shouldn't use them on a primary machine. If you need to recover files follow this guide:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/data-recovery-using-fedora/
You can download Windows 10 and clean install:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-windows-10-oem-and-retail-iso/
If you want to remain on the Insider Preview. Use the Insider Preview .iso:

Sometimes it takes some time for the updates to happen. They look like they're stuck at 0%, but really they're still loading.
Your best bet is to set it on a charger and let it finish the update.
