Yahoo email images blocked support says I have a trojan

Question: Yahoo email images blocked support says I have a trojan

I had a reset password link image not showing in my email. The company said to contact yahoo support. I gave him remote access and he pointed out a lot of microsoft services that had been stopped. Support tech said I have a trojan  and wanted 150.00 to remove.  My virus protection is not detecting anything. I have also ran malware bytes and super anti spyware. I have a windows 10 computer that is only 2 months old. It came with Mcafee virus software which I just removed because I don't like it. I installed AVG antivirus which I have used for years with no problems. Thank you for your help!

Preferred Solution: Yahoo email images blocked support says I have a trojan

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a confusing problem with my email images, any input would be helpful. I use Comcast, I have 3 email boxes, 2 associated with my log in one with my husbands. In my primary email box around 3 weeks ago all my images began showing with a small box and the words image blocked, right clicking on this and hitting view image leads me to this- Page Not Found
The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it
This occurs on 4 different machines I have tried on, Vista or XP, my home or my sisters home. If I download my mail into Office or Incredimail the images are there. If I pull the mail into Gmail the images are there. Comcast says contact my computer manufacturer for support and closed my help ticket. Both of the other 2 email boxes display images. The only info I have gathered from Comcast is that each mailbox is coming from a different server and that they say my Comcast email is a "free service" all I pay them for is connectivity. Any ideas?

Answer:My Email images are blocked

It depends on you email reader.

Most email readers have a security setting that blocks auto open of none text object.

Most email reader setting can be set to stop the blocking.

Have been getting a lot of vulgar emails in the Spam folder of yahoo mail lately.

I know not to open any attachments or links in these emails and I always just delete them without opening.

What I would like to do is open the email and copy and paste the senders email address into the Blocked Emails Address List in the Yahoo mail options.

Is this a safe way to get rid of this trash ?? Any other suggestions ??

Answer:Blocked Email addresses in Yahoo Mail

it should be safe to open them and do this. it used to be true that all you had to do was open an email to get infected, but i have heard this is not the case anymore. i would be extremely careful though. if possible, use vmware to open them and do this. if you get infected, you can delete the vm. or you can start up in safe mode with networking. without a registry change, you can't install things in safe mode. this may not protect you from all types of malware, so unless you are really bothered by these emails i would just leave them going into the spam folder.

I need to know if anyone knows what is going on with Yahoo email or if they know a better way of getting hold of their support. I've already sent 3 support forms in and NO RESPONSE. I have tried to open my Yahoo email since 11:30 yesterday and I get the message that I have copied following my message here. I haven't changed any settings on my browsers or computer. I have tried it on different browsers (FlashPeak Slimbrowser and IE) and I tried rebooting and nothing has worked. I don't have any trouble accessing other web pages on the same laptop. I can go to MY Yahoo page without any trouble and it shows that I do have 24 messages in my inbox but I can't open the link to get to them. I even tried clicking on Sign Out, but I get the same message. It is sooooo frustrating! My opsys is WinXP. I haven't done anything unusual in the last day or two that I can remember. I really need to get into that email account! My backup email is [email protected].

Thanks!!!

Hi all,

I received a spam email from my mom yesterday from her Yahoo Mail account. It turns out these spam emails were sent to nearly her entire address book.

I'm home for Christmas and downloaded the Kaspersky trial version and ran a full scan. Nothing malicious detected. However, tonight, while browsing, I notice Kaspersky blocked activity from "Trojan-Downloader.JS.Expack.s"

So, something has definitely gone wrong.

Here's my DDS.txt and zipped Attach.txt. No GMER logs because this is 64-bit Win 7.

All

as suggested by elfasso, below is the dds log for my pc (windows xp home sp2) - as stated in the topic description, i did have remote access issues that i believe have been resolved (changed yahoo password and all account access/notification info), but now am suspect of anything that may be associated with said invasion (virus, botted, ?) that still may be alive inside of my machine....

i scrubbed it out with as many antivirus and maleware programs as i could find free 30 day susbscritions for (norton, eset, avast, superantispyware, malewarebytes) as well as the most recent microsoft malicious removal tool...

this probably should not be considered as a top priority problem, but if one of you experts find a few minutes to go over the dds log and let me know if you think I'm still open to any potential threats, i'd really appreciate it...
be forewarned that i do use utorrent for music downloads as I'm sure that'll be a potential problem right off the bat...

thanks again and cheers!

Hi

I am running Windows XP Home SP2 - Problem started June 9 10:44am...my personal yahoo email account sent out emails to all of my contacts in my Yahoo email account with links that were found to either contain a trojan horse or send anyone who clicked on the link to a site with a trojan horse. There was no subject in the email, simply a link. I was running Avast anti-virus at the time. I have since ran Avast, Norton, Eset Nod32, and the Windows Malicious software removal tool as well as both SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes - all run in both regular and safe mode.

Avast found Java:Agent-AXI and sucessfully removed it...then after running Norton AV, a suspected virus was detected in sdfix.exe and sucessfully removed...then after running Superantispyware, i received trojan detections in C:\i386\compimpxml.dll and c:\windows\system32\compimpxml.dll both were sucessfully removed, then I ran the Windows Malicious Detection software and it found and removed Trojan JS:\Hiloti.E and JS:\Hiloti.F...

well, during all of this work, my damn PC somehow sent out 2 more spam emails (one Sunday Night at 8:26 and another just today at 4:22) to all of my contacts once again containing links infected with trojan horses! So since June 9, my PC has sent out 3 different trojan horse email to all of my yahoo account contacts...
BELOW IS A COPY/PASTE OF THE LINK I WAS SENT BY THIS VIRUS:

Earlier they would open only if they were the first programs I switched on when I would start my PC else I would get an error message “Messenger encountered a connection problem. Please check the network connection and then click "Try Again" (81003004)”.

My computer system: AMD 64 3200+ 2.01Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, Windows Professional XP-2, IE 6 with Cookies Enabled, MS Office 2003, BSNL Broadband, Java (TM) 6 update 11, Java (TM) 6 update 7, no Startup programs other than AVG Free version 8. I am based in India.

I have checked with those using the same broadband connection as to not facing any problem with Yahoo.

Yahoo FT Server and Yahoo! Messenger are provided as exceptions in my Windows Firewall. In IE6 under Security Sites I have not blocked any website.

Where could the problem be?

I copied (highlight and Ctrl-C) an e-mail message to me that I had saved in 2011. I then created a new e-mail message today by pasting (Ctrl-V) that data and sent it to three other people. The original message contained several photos. I am using Windows 8.1 and Live Mail as the e-mail program.

One of the recipients was my wife and we share the same e-mail address so I saw the message in our In Box and was able to view the complete message with no problem.

However she is still using XP SP3 and Outlook Express on her machine. She was able to access the message but all the photos were blocked with the little square containing the x symbol.

Another of the recipients has e-mailed me saying she could not view any of the photos either. I do not know yet her OS and e-mail program. The third person has not sent any info on her status.

Went I sent the email out I received a notice that one of more of the photos was no longer available. I counted them in the original (2011) message and then in my outgoing message and found there were two missing in the outgoing message. That leads me to think the photos are not in the message but links to items out in the Internet world.

Can anybody help me with advice on how to enable the recipients to access these linked photos?

Thank you very much.
Michael Dietz

Answer:Blocked images in e-mail

And this is a follow up to my original message.

I created the outgoing message again and sent it to my wife. Remember we have the same email address. After it got delivered I looked at it with my machine (Win 8, Live Mail) and all was good. I then asked her to look at it on her machine (SP, Outlook Express). Again no photos. I then went back to my machine and tried to look at it.

And the message had been altered by her machine. There were no photos, only the small squares with the x.

Again thank you for helping me with my frustration.

Hello, I am using Yahoo.com for my email. On many emails that I look at it says "this message contains blocked images" Why does it do this? And how can I change it so that it works well. Thank you

Answer:This message contains blocked images

Hiya

Normally when your email blocks images, its because they can be spam or suspect pictures. There has been known to be some infections that can come about by looking at a picture and clicking on it to download. Its just being safe.

If they're not in your Spam but in the Inbox, and it still blocks it, it may just be over cautious.

However, here is how to remove the setting:

But I'm going to close this one as duplicate threads are not permitted.

I belong to one Yahoo Group and have my email for that group set up for "individual emails" for all group messages. I receive all messages daily from all other group members except one member. Can't figure out why I don't get his messages (makes no difference if it is text only messages or messages with pics attached). The only way I know this particular member has posted to the group is when other members have their group email settings set up to automatically affix all/part of posts at the bottom of their replies to same. As you see by my signature, I use Firefox 1.5.09 as my default browser. My other realtime running programs also listed there, but I don't think they could be a factor. Not sure whether Firefox is a factor with the blocking. I have asked this member to post a test message today and I am accessing the net exclusively via IE6 today to see if his test message comes through or not. Will report back my findings on that score. BTW, I do not use an email client. I read all my mail directly off the Yahoo Mail website. Only thought I've had, is once or twice my mail has "bounced" because my inbox was full. But my inbox rarely gets full. And this problem seems to be more persistent than just a few occasions. Anyone have any additional thoughts on what could be causing my dilemma?

Answer:Yahoo Web-based Email/yahoo Groups Problem

Don't know if it is the problem, but just realized I normally keep my mail options set to "automatically delete" bulk mail messages. Maybe somehow this group member's messages are being "perceived" as spam and Yahoo's spam filter is blocking his posts. I've gone into my settings just now and told it to hold those messages a week for me so I can test possible factor. Will post back my findings.

Oh boy!

I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP2.

Here is where I will start. My apologies, this might be long winded.
I was having problems with browsing (posted this prior) and wasn't getting anywhere with attempting to adjust browser settings. I was getting blocked going regular places. So... after getting very aggravated, I accessed Symantec's online chat help w/ an analyst. During this time, the analyst remotely accessed my computer on two occassions, ultimately finding out that the problem was not with the Norton 360 but was with IE (v.7). We were having problems with connectivity. He said his system said I was disconnected yet he was still in my system. He started a notepad doc to chat with me, saying that we were locking up and I should Google the verbage I was receiving during the browsing blocks I was receiving. As I was typing a response saying I have done that, we were disconnected. Since I knew what I had originally found, I disconnected completely and left it for today since more than 2-3 hours have now passed. Today, I cannot access my email. I receive an HTTP 405 error. (Programming error). I noted that in the heading, the address started like this: hxxp://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/toplevel/msgr6. After searching that on the web, I found that this is a BAD thing. I also noticed that the Phishing filter was off. Answer:Unable To Access Yahoo Email (red.clientapps.yahoo.com/)

Have you tried using an alternate browser like Firefox to see if you encounter the same problem? If you can use Firefox, then will narrow the problem down to an IE issue.Since you cannot run the Housecall or Panda scans, if you install Firefox you can then perform and online scan using Trend Micro Housecall Scan for Firefox. This also leads me to believe you have an ActiveX problem.

Most numbers for yahoo - suport at least - are routed to a location in India. Yahoo transferred tech support to third party services. Those services offer a free call but any solutions they offer - cost... And they invariably offer to remote in to your computer and seem to use freely available utilities to scan the system; these utilities frequently free to download and use. With the above in mind I'm not surprised that you can't contact yahoo directly to get answers...Yahoo srvice etc. has been going downhill for an age. I'm not convinced that Verizon will help it any; but can see Verizon charging for anything yahoo once offered for free?Theoretically your yahoo lohgon etc ought not to change; at least for a while... But as for long term???message edited by trvlr

Hello,
For the past several weeks now, when I check my Yahoo email account using IE 8 version (actions performed: clicking on the Inbox, moving from email to email, opening an email) I am redirected to this website:

hxxp://premium_.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAIKDZBVZT6ABSN6MA&Expires=1296073985&Signature=r1JBMUZ7yDiRdj2Wu3Ul5hjNCoQ%3D

This does not happen all the time. It seems to be sporadic. I can have periods of time when this does not happen (I can open several messages or navigate from one message to another and not have a problem) then all of a sudden I will be redirected to the site listed above. If I click the back button I can get back to my email and move around once again. The redirect may or may not occur again or from that point forward. From what I have read online, there doesn't seem to be a fix for this issue.

I have tried running several scans with Malwarebytes (in safe mode), Ad-Aware, AVG, Spybot, Hitman Pro 3.5 and ComboFix. But, none of these scans have returned any results that have resolved this issue. I have also removed all versions of Java and updated to the latest version (Java 6 update 23). I've also removed all versions of Adobe and installed Adobe Reader X version 10.0.0 as I have read that keeping old versions may pose a security risk. Just trying to provide as much information on what I've done up to this point.

I've attached scan results from RootKit Unhooker Report.txt (zipped), the DDS Attach.tx... Read more

Question: images in yahoo

how can i insert images/pictures into the text part in yahoo email]not attachments]regards, birdog

Answer:images in yahoo

Don't think you can as there is no insert command and the good ol cut an paste doesnt work in Yahoo mail as it does in Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. You could maybe build the picture into a Word/other document and send the document as an attachment. Not really a solution but hope it helps....

Is there any way of finding our which ISP I can change to so that my emails can get delivered to BT and Yahoo emails addresses? It appears that Yahoo (and BT) use a whitelist of email servers; my ISP's email servers are mostly not on that list; as a result most emails are marked as spam with a header line X-YahooFilteredBulk: [IP address]I am looking for an ISP with good service, and that offers IMAP email, but am baffled as to how to check this issue out. I am not keen on the obvious answer (swap to BT) as that is giving in to unfair competition.I have also tried complaining to Yahoo, but their answer is that people receiving emails can check their own Bulk (Spam) folders. However my experience is that a lot of people (especially those using POP) don't check their spam folders and assume that the spam filter does a wonderful job. What is ironic is tha my ISP (PlusNet) is owned by BT!

Answer:Emails blocked by BT / Yahoo

You can sign up to AOL email for free and it's IMAP.And you don't have to subscribe to them as your ISP.

How can I include images within e-mails without attaching them? In other words, the image should be part of the message and not have to be downloaded as an attachment.

Answer:Yahoo e-mail and images

Yahoo has photo mail now, when you go to compose your message it has an insert photo button next to the attach files one. First it'll have you install the photo tool, then after that you can insert a photo in your email.

I don't know if is available with firefox, I use it with IE but it won't work using mozilla.

Hello,

Sometimes I am unable to access yahoo, google, any of the email systems of the two or any associated sites (yahoo answers, google news, etc). It does not matter the search engine -- IE, Chrome, Firefox -- but once or twice a day, I will get a page cannot be displayed message if trying to get to one of those pages. Briefly, my IE homepage was changed to Bing. And, while I could not get to yahoo and google, I could get to Bing, Ask, Blekko, etc.I have no toolbars or anything like that installed. No add-ons (that I know of) either, except for the Avast site checker.

I have Avast, which has detected nothing. Ran Malabytes and uncovered a few crossrider files. Quarantined them. Problem persisted. Ran SuperAntiSpyware and uncovered a fake-doc trojan. Quuarantined and removed it. Problem less frequent but still there. Did ADWCleaner and it uncovered another crossrider file and a few corrupted files. Took them out. Problem better but not gone. Ran RKill and found corrupted Hosts file. Repaired that.

Much better than when I started but still having some spots when google and yahoo sites will spin their wheels, as do some other sites (including this one) while Bing pops up immediately if I type that in the browser. I'm no where near my data limit with my ISP, so ...

Here's my last RKill log. There are perhaps a couple of issues there, but I can't figure out how to handle them. If anyone can tell me what my next move is to finish off this, I'd apprecia... Read more

Hi Geniuses:
I wanted to throw this out to you to see if there was a solution to my "inbox zero woes"

TECH SPECS:

Yahoo Email address (yes I know)
iPhone with Outlook App
Mac Computer with Mail APP
Extra Gmail account with a "send gmail from account"

What I found was that while on the road (most of my email use) the Outlook App for iPhone was fastest at fetching mail, and I LOVE the interface (ability to snooze emails, archive etc).

Problem is, my home mac with MAIL doesn't play nice when I archive Emails on my app.
Secondly, I also like to use gmail as a web client for searching files, using todo etc.

My question: can all of these play nice in the same sandbox? Can I archive on one device, and have it translated amongst the others? If not, what are my solutions (switching over to outlook on Mac? Just using a GMAIL address from now on). Would love some light / insight on this.

Many, Many thanks!
-Bryan.

Hello!
My email app for Nokia Lumia 630 with Windows Phone 8.1 shows only 1 email in the inbox folder, that is the latest email. I'm using Yahoo! mail. It used to work correctly, showing all emails, but it works no longer that way. I've tried to delve into settings, but I did not any setting that would explain the behavior. Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Tommi

Answer:Why is my email app only showing 1 email (latest) in inbox (Yahoo! mail)?

Did you receive 1 mail in the last 7 days ? If you go into settings, click on sync settings. In there the default option from Download e-mail from is 7 days. So any mail that has exceeded 7 days will not appear. Check what is your setting.

Not sure if phone or PC...
but regardless, in the account settings you can choose the frequency of syncing. (options like As Items Arrive or Push, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, daily.. etc) so you might want to touch those settings.

A friend of mine just bought a laptop from PC World . I advised her to use the Help & support feature ( I would have advised her against PC World if she'd asked but... ) , she has used it but has found that images are faded out so half the picture is missing . It's fine online but happens when she is offline . PC World have told her that it may be something to do with Microsoft updates & it may sort itself out & she would have to contact Microsoft HQ to fix it if it doesn't .
Sounds like BS to me . Any advice welcome .

Answer:Blurred images in Help & support

I posted the same question on another site & was told it wasn't very clear . So -

If , for example you go to ' The Desktop (overview)' in Help & support on Vista there's a mountain scene reflected in a lake . When she's online it's fine but offline half the scene is missing - like someone's half rubbed it out .

I've done all the updates - all installed successfully .
Hope that makes sense ?

I started having this problem last week on Yahoo and now it seems to have spread to other websites. I'm on XP2 and IE7. Previously I was able to view Yahoo and other websites perfectly fine. Now all the pictures are shown in a red x on IE7 and also on Firefox. The page will load extremely slowly and when I try to click on the links, it refuses to move to the next page. The search image on Yahoo has also disappeared, and even the little pictures along the webite are gone. If and when I finally manage to get to Yahoo mail, it's the same. I can't see the tabs and little pictures, it takes forever to load and when I finally do get to the email, I can't preview it because half the time I can't see the images.

I have already run a scan using AVG Free edition, checked IE's settings for multimedia, etc. Even uninstalled IE7 to check if the same problem is happening in IE6 and yes, it is. I have made no changes to my security settings and have checked them, still the same. I have Windows Firewall and Windows Defender is running in the background together with AVG Free edition.

I'm about to go crazy. I really need help (in layman terms, please). btw I also did a system restore but still no help.

Yahoo is now broken in Firefox for me. No idea what happened. Images don't appear - just an empty white square. This happens on the Yahoo email page, and also the main Yahoo page - all the scrolling images for the news stories are gone. I ran CCleaner as I do regularly but thee issue remains. Did a recent Firefos update break something? I'm running v40.0.3. This just started happening this week.

Lets see if emptying the temp folders help.

Go to Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folders. If the first one isn't showing, then you'll have to unhide it as follows:

In Windows Explorer | Tools | Options. View tab. Tick the option for Show Hidden Files and Folders, apply and OK.

c:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Temp\
c:\Windows\Temp\

Don't delete the actual Temp folder, but all the contents. If there are some folders in there as well, delete them.

Then, go to Control Panel | Internet Options. General tab. Under Tempory Internet Files, click Delete Files, and delete the offline content. Then, go to the Advanced tab, and scroll down to Security, and tick the option for Empty Tempory Internet files...Apply and OK.

Reboot, then try again.

It doesn't happen in either Chrome or Firefox, which both diplay images correctly in Yahoo Mail, so I am guessing it's a wrong setting in IE - but what is it?

I support a network of 12 computers, all of which run through one hardware firewall. One computer on my network is getting a 404 error when trying to access www.gmail.com, or if they click the mail icon on yahoo.com. All other internet access seems ok on that station, and gmail and yahoo mail work on every other station.

I checked for blocked sites, allowed sites, and tried turning off the software firewall on that particular machine. The last reported problem by AVG Pro was startpage.cza INSTALL_FP6_WU_R88.EXE. All of my research on that showed that it was a false positive.

Any ideas?

Hello,

After every mail I send to a yahoo address I receive a mail warning that my address has been temporarily blocked due to user complaints. 'Don't worry, this usually doesn't last long', Yahoo promises, and in the end the message is (often?) delivered. But then it has been delayed for a while, which is sometimes annoying.

Does this mean I have malware in my computer that sends out spam? Scans haven't found anything, but that's no proof. And how can I make Yahoo trust my IP address again?
Below one of the messages from Yahoo.

Hi, I recently helped a friend troubleshoot a computer issue where she could browse the internet freely except for search engine sites Google, Bing and Yahoo. Actually Yahoo would load but not be able to conduct any searches.

After much troubleshooting I singled out the problem to her System and the Windows Hosts File where I encountered the following entries:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

I use about 5 different internet based email accounts to manage my affairs( Yahoo email mostly, but also Hotmail and Gmail, etc,....NO Onboard email used at all) . Some are for friends email, some for family, others for various business interests, online purchase, etc. If I get certain emails, I NEED to know about it ASAP as I'm working/browsing on my computer.

I have used a program called "eprompter" before but found it unreliable. Sometimes it would not notify me at all that a new email had just arrived that I'd been waiting for. That is very aggrevating when they are important and need to be opened and replied to promptly. That NOT being notified at all when new a email arrives in my Inbox Can Not Happen. Most of them are TOO Important for it to just not tell me about!

And also, if I independantly just go to my Yahoo Inbox, I notice it just marks emails I have not read....as already read. That's Spooky! I Just DON'T Trust ePrompter!!!

There Must be a good one that doesn't try to fake out whether you've seen emails or not !
Does anyone know of a free, but really good and dependable Email Notifier program to monitor all my internet based accounts at once, please?

thanks.

Yahoo imports: Microsoft Outlook (CSV File).

There is nothing in the address book that allows you to export, so under MS 2003 Outlook they is nothing that permits me to export to CSV. I suppose I need an upgrade but I am selling my business and don't want to spend the moeny right now for that.

I am able to delete emails but not folders. When I right click on the relevant folder it asks if I wish to delete the folder. A box then appears stating "We hit a technical glitch, please try reloading the page in a few minutes." Error 14. This has been happening for months. I have tried using a different browser to no avail. I am using Windows 8.1 OS. I am also unable to delete email folders from the same account on an iPad.

I have composed a Word letter I wish to attach to a Yahoo email.

When attempting to attach it to the email to the intended recipient,
it tells me there is a problem and can't attach it.

When I compose a similar test email to another recipient I am able
to attach the exact same Word document with no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I believe the problem is self-evident:

They are also missing in help context screens.

I don't really use the help that much, so I guess it's not really a big deal, it's just irking me that it's not working properly and perhaps the fix will help somebody else in the future.

Thanks!

My Windows Help and Support doesn't show images anymore. Take a look. The only thing different is that I created HP recovery discs and I installed Nero Ultimate. I also have Norton internet security running. Just before this problem, norton asked me how to handle programs over the internet or something like that. It had already asked that before, the first time I used the computer, then all of a sudden it asked again... like another program turn off my windows or norton firewall which in turn prompted norton again. Help and support was still working after that though.... so I don't know what is causing it. Any Ideas???

Answer:No Images In Windows Vista "help And Support"

I believe you are looing at a copy of the web page, residing in your cookies or history. You have lost the path to the true web page.I wrote a "help" document and placed it on a free hoster some months ago. It includes a "help and support" file which, when run, will sort out the problem. You can download the whole (zip) file here.http://www.divshare.com/download/222626-c6bYou might find some of the other stuff useful, also.

Hello Windows 10 forum experts,

I recently did the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my desktop computer.

I like to use Yahoo as my search engine. When I do an image search on Yahoo the images may load on the visible screen, but often times they will disappear. If I scroll down thru and below the visible screen there will be an outlined box where the image should be displayed, but no image, and then the outlined box will quickly disappear.

A Google image search does not do this, so it appears there is some sort of glitch with Yahoo images.

Does anyone know how I may be able to correct this?

Thanks for your expertise

Here is what I see in Yahoo Mail.  I guess I should check this in Firefox also, sorry just thought of it!

Answer:Images not appearing in Yahoo Mail using Chrome

What anti virus software do you use? There is a problem with Avast where it stops those images from appearing. If you use Avast go into the settings>Active Protection>Web Shield>Customize, then disable HTTPS scanning. Warning: This will disable the web protection module from working on HTTPS sites, which may pose a security risk.

Hello and Welcome to Bleeping Computer!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE:... Hello,

While reading my morning news, I subbled upon one of the local site visits, that apparently was hacked.

It redirected me to a youtube video, and asked me to install various stoftware, at which point I immediatly closed IE.

Apparently not soon enough, as now I can not use either Yahoo, Bing or Google search engines. It simply times out. However, I can brouse Yahoo, but not the others.

Here are the results of the scans;

Dear Customer,

Our robot has detected an abnormal activity from your IP adress
on sending e-mails. Probably it is connected with the last epidemic
of a worm which does not have official patches at the moment.

We recommend you to install this patch to remove worm files
and stop email sending, otherwise your account will be blocked.

I ask this question every now and then to see if anyone else may have had this problem and solved it.
I use one particular Yahoo mail account daily on my desktop.Until a year ago I could sign in from my desk top or laptop.
About a year ago Yahoo requested that my password be change. They wanted something longer and more secure. Since then I can sign in fine from the desktop but the laptop gets the "Invalid username or password" message when I try to sign in. This happens in both IE and FF. I can sign in to a different Yahoo mail account from the laptop with no problem. It is just my main account which will not allow me to sign in from the laptop.
I thought it might have something to do with Comodo Internet security 2012 but this was just uninstalled and reinstalled due to another problem.
I even E mailed my username and password to the laptop ( using a different yahoo account) and cut and pasted to the sign in page.Still no luck
Doing internet searches I have seen this exact problem but have yet to see a solution.
Also the the "Invalid username or password" message comes up so quickly it does not seem that enough time goes by to have queried Yahoo about signing in.
Not sure what would be internal to the computer to block a password or username.
Suggestions are appreciated
Best Regards
Nawtheasta

Hi hi =]Whenever I try to open a search result from google or yahoo, I would get redirected to a random non-relevant websites 1 out of every 3 times. I was also unable to access certain websites such as malwarebytes and the website for spybot search and destroy (It says "Server not found, Firefox can't find the server at www.malwarebytes.org")However, I was able to download both of those programs from download.com. Both programs were unable to autoupdate but Malwarebytes seems to be already up to date and I downloaded manual update from download.com for spybot.I had also tried connecting to the internet on safemode but I still could not access the sites like malwarebytes. Avast (anti virus) seems to update fine but using it to scan seems to report no problems.I have performed full scan with both softwares in safemode overnight (at the same time). There were a lot of infected files or registries it seems. I removed/fixed them all (First with spybot than malwarebytes if that makes a difference). I rebooted afterward and still have the same problem.I have also checked my HOST file and that doesn't seem to be what's preventing me accessing from certain websites. I use firefox mainly but the problem seems to apply to IE (7) as well. I tried disabling all plugins and addons from firefox but I was still unable to access certain anti-virus websites.I've been having this problem for quite a while and I never really bothered to fix it since I thought all it does was just redi...
