A friend of mine brought his Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11E touch - by today because after he did a "clean install of windows 10 Pro. his touchscreen is no longer working...I've just spent the last 2 hrs. installing the "lenovo" drivers and software packages...But can't seem to located the HID touchscreen drivers or any documentation to support the touchscreen on the "Lenovo" site...I've also tried all the "lenovo" whiz bang apps the fix this issue...Does anyone have this model: Intel Celeron N2930 (2.16 GHz),8GB RAM,128GB Solid State Drive,11.6in 1366x768 Touchscreen LCD,Intel 802.11agn wireless,4c Li-Ion,Win8.1 Pro 64 - (Lenovo's description of this PC) that has been able to get the touchscreen working post windows 10 install? Or a link to the correct drivers for the touchscreen? Or could Lenovo support maybe point to these packages so I can get this thing working as marketed...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga touchscreen off and on (and off)

i have had this problem before, and it could be hardware based. One of the sure way to find out whether this is a hardware based issue, is to go into the BIOS menu, and see whether you can navigate the BIOS menu based on touch. Hi, i have the issue that all Windows 8.1 Gestures work perfectly fine with the Touchpad but most do not work with the Touchscreen.Pinch to zoom, one finger click or selection, or longer one finger click for a right click drop down menu work just fine.Especially in tablet mode it is anoying to have to grab the pen to use it swiping in from the right screen side to open the charms bar and not being able to use my finger.  I am guessing its just a settings problem wich is kind of tricky to find - or i am blind to finding it - because except theses gestures the touchscreen works fine and accurate as it should. Thank You for any help you guys can give me!  PS.: Machine is a Thinkpad Yoga EDIT: Ok i just found out that in Reading Mode when the camera is on the right side all gestures work perfect - the other 3 positions the problem is still remaining

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga gestures on Touchscreen

I was having a similar issue on mine. Recalibrating the touch screen fixed it. A lot of people are having issues with this on Windows 7 devices that came with touch screens when the very edge of the touch screen is not able to be touched. I'm guessing that Windows 8 requires that the touch start at the very edge (or beyond the edge) of the screen for the gesture to be detected. When the display is mis-calibrated, when you touch the edge of the screen, it registers as just inside the edge and is detected as a click instead. Since the calibration does not change with device rotation, I'd be that your vertical calibration is ok (since it works in reading mode), but that your horizontal calibration is a bit off. if you search for "Calibration" in the control panel, the "Tablet PC Settings" contains the menu for recalibrating the touch (and pen if you have one) inputs

I installed the most recent windows 10 x64 synaptic driver this morning here on the lenovo site.  The new driver installed fine, but then after I went to reboot my system, the touchscreen was not working. I tried installing the march 1st Touchscreen patch from the same page, and it didnt fix it.   Under the device manager I have located the Touchscreen, it is showing up under Human Interface Devices, as an unrecognized USB input device.  In the properties window, listed under Events, it lists the "Device onfigured (null)".  After trying to install synaptics again later on, I get "Device not migrated", then "Device configured (input.inf)", and finally "Device not startd (HidUsb)". I don't have a wacom stylus, just the standard one that came with the device.Any help resolving this would be much appreciated.

Hello guys, i own a ThinkPad Yoga 20CD00EAIX. I'm experiencing issues with the use of the touchscreen. When the screen is in normal orientation, the touchscreen behave as expected, with every windows 8 gesture fully functionating. When the screen is oriented upside down, instead, i am not able to use any gesture with my fingers, they are not recognized, but they work if i use my pen. Is it a driver issue? how can i check if i need to update them? thanks for the answers.

I recently decided to use my Wacom Graphics tablet with my Yoga 260. After all the necessary drivers were installed for the Graphics tablet. The touchscreen on the laptop seems to have disappeared, where it had worked perfectly beforehand. I went through the Device Manager and settings and the computer says that there is no longer any touch screen support. I am using Windows 10 and was really hoping that I could use both the computer and the Graphics tablet together. Can somebody please help or give me a way of enabling my touchscreen? Thanks in advance!

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 260 Touchscreen removed

Hi

Can you please post the full machine model number of you Thinkpad ? And also which Wacom tablet are you using externally?

I have TP Yoga 14 that has a Wacom touch screen and I have a Wacom Bamboo at home. I will try tonight to see if when I connect the Wacom external tablet it disconects my touch screen.

I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

I have my Yoga for 5 days and the touchscreen stopped working mid-use! Tried everything I could, I also have reinstalled the factory image. Touchpad and pen are working correctly but not the touchscreen.  The HID Touch device is in the hardware manager. It's a 20C0. I've open a service request yesterday, I'm still waiting. Does anyone else had this problem with a brand new Yoga?

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen not working anymore

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that touchscreen of your ThinkPad Yoga stopped responding.

Open Device Manager in control panel. Look for the option Human Interface Device. Under Human Interface Device, look for HID-compliant device. Right click on this option and choose Disable and then re-enable the same.

If the above said didn?t help, it could possibly be a hardware issue. I?m sure the Lenovo technical support can be of great assistance.

Mithun.

Hello I bought a Yoga X1 last year and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. For unknown reasons - possibly because of some Windows 10 update or because I installed a "nightly built" of the VLC video player the touchscreen stopped working. Windows 10 could not find a driver anymore (claiming that the driver it found is not suitable for this version of windows or womething like that). Same happened with the Lenovo driver for the device from the Lenovo website. I always hat the device marked yellow and "not working properly" in the device manager. I finally found in a forum aomeone pointing to a different driver for the Xoga X1's Wacom device and installed it. Now it shows up in the Device manager without Problems, but I still have no touch functionality. I deinstalled VLC alread and updated Win 10 again - still no luck. do I need some additional driver to connect the device that is recognized in the Device manager with Windows 10 somehow? Or activate it? I booted from a USB rescue stick for Win 10 and there the touch functionality was ok - so its not a hardware issue! Thank you.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1, Windows 8.1The touchscreen stopped working, although the pen works. How can I fix it?

Answer:Touchscreen stopped working, ThinkPad Yoga

I have the same issue.  This first occurred back in May or June when it all of a sudden stopped responding to touch.  Additionally, the auto-rotation was disabled as well as the trackpad lock when the screen is bent all the way back.  I finally got around to sending it in last week and earlier this week I got it back with a factory image loaded onto the machine.  After booting up, the touchscreen was working perfectly fine as was the auto-rotation and trackpad lock.  I then proceeded to start installing Windows updates and after the last installation, I discovered that the screen had become unresponsive again!  To me, this indicates that some update had disabled the screen and indeed, under Device Manager, the HID-compliant touch screen is noted as being disconnected.  I'm not entirely sure how to reconnect the screen, so if anybody has suggestions that would be appreciated. On a separate note, I called Lenovo software support and after explaining the situation to the technician on the phone, he then told me that I would have to buy software warranty for them to fix it.  This is ridiculous!  Why should I have to pay Lenovo to fix a problem that stems from a probable incompatibiity of their own software/drivers with Windows updates?  And after I complained about this hypocrisy, he even had the gall to suggest to me to talk with a "computer-savvy friend" who might be able to help.  I spent a lot of money on this machin... Hi everyone. My Thinkpad (Yoga 12.5, WINDOWS 10) screen acting strangely. It works, then touch function stops. It starts working again when I do enable/disable HID touchscreen in device manager. Works sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour or more, then stops again. Power saving option is OFF on this device. Drivers are all updated to the latest through Lenovo driver update process.Since it is partially fixed by driver enable / disable function, I suspect it is software and not hardware issue, however can not pinpoint it. Other clues to solve this mistery: 1)It is plugged in (not on battery) 2) HID-compliant touch screen driver is Microsoft version (10.0.16299.15) Driver date 6/21/2006 (Maybe old?) I hope somebody can help.Thank you.

Hello, I got my ThinkPad Yoga 15 about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working today, so I rebooted but nothing happened. Windows doesn't recognize the Touchscreen HID Device anymore and reinstalling doesn't help. I think it's a hardware fault as the bottom middle of the screen heats up shortly after booting and the head spreads around the bottom half of the display (which wasn't the case before, when the Touchscreen still worked.)  I got the machine as an on-display from a store, it was refurbished and still has Lenovo warranty. My question is if this is covered by warranty. If not I would be very upset since this would be the second ThinkPad product in the last 2 years that broke shortly after buying and didn't get repaired.  Regards, Ken Hutchinson

Whenever I use the pen while the screen is flipped back over 180 degrees (whether in tent mode, tablet mode, whatever) the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. The pen works just fine but the screen wil eventually stop responding to touch. THe only fix I found is flipping the screen to laptop mode and back. This isn't app specific either. I mostly use the pen with Artrage and Photoshop, but I just tested on Edge and Mail, and the touchscreen became unresponsive.  I can use the pen in laptop mode without it interferring with touch. Something tells me there's a software issue.  Are there any fixes to this? It's really annoying.  In addition, the pen input can be very buggy at times, it wants to stick to teh top of the screen and I often end up moving the window while drawing.  I've calibrated the pen a few times, and I use both the built in pen as well as the thinkpad pen pro one (the thicker one you can be separately).

Hello everyone, A few weeks ago I noticed that my touchscreen doesn't respond at all in two areas. Others have reported the same problem, and ended up getting a replacement of the laptop. I have the same dead spots as in the other link, also got my screen replaced, and still have the problem.Does anyone know a solution? I'd hate to send in my Yoga again for what must be the 4th time. Also, for how long is it possible to get a refund? I bought my Yoga a year ago and actually like the machine. I always hoped for the next repair or replacement to bring me a perfectly working laptop, but sadly never had one. Edit: The spots are moving! Sometimes when I reboot/wake the PC up from sleep, they are in other places than before. Seems like the display definitely isn't the problem. I also tested the touchscreen on Ubuntu to rule out driver problems, same thing there. Thanks in advance!

Lenovo just put a new panel in my Yoga to fix the ghosting problem.  But, just noticed I have the exact same problem you're describing now.  Dead spot in each of the bottom corners.  Definitely wasn't a problem before with my original display panel.  Very frustrating!  Edit:  picture:

Hi everyone,  I recently purchased the Thinkapd Yoga and was pretty excited about the touchscreen and the ability to just fold the laptop together and use it as a notepad. ProblemUnfortunately the touchscreen does not seem to be properly fixed in place. At the bottom right quarter the frame of the screen dents in and makes creaking noises as soon as you rest your hand on it to write with the digitizer pen. The sound does not appear when the screen frame is just touched lighty. But as soon as you press down a little more (i.e. rest your hand normally while writing) the screen frame makes creaking sounds and the color on the screen close to the spot on the frame touched changes. Again: this is only apparent in the bottom right quarter of the screen frame. The same pressure applied to another part of the screen does not cause it to creak or change colors. QuestionDoes anybody else experience this problem? As the warranty does not have experied as of yet: Do you think this can be fixed or is it a inherent problem whithin the thinkpad yoga series? I did not find any similar problems whith the search function on here which makes me believe that this might just have been a singular manufacturing problem concerning my laptop. Thank you for your answers in advance and have a great day.  Flo

Hi.  I just received my Thinkpad Yoga today (yay!) however already there seems to be what I can only assume is a fault.  Now and again, and now for a prolonged period (>1 hour) the touchscreen seems to keep registering clicks arranged relatively randomly, but within a thin narrow vertical band near the centre of the screen. Hovering the stylus near the screen prevents the clicks occurring though, and so using the stylus I've managed to finally get into Device Manager and disable the touchscreen HID I've tried looking for driver updates etc to no avail.  My laptop is currently turned off for a while, and I'll see if it's resolved once I turn it back on again. Has anyone else had this issue, or has anyone got any suggestions?  I'll have to give Lenovo a call in the morning I expect, as this just isn't right!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen malfunctioning - Random clicks in vertical line

This now seems to be resolved, or at least seems to have stopped.  Potentially was related to some DNS server software somehow (though no idea how!)

Hello,  I recently purchased a Thinkpad Yoga 12 (MP1091PE). I love this laptop since it is a major upgrade from my previous one. I finally got an opportunity to really use the laptop for all its features the last couple days, after completing all the updates for windows 10 pro and lenovo drivers and BIOs.  1) OneNote IssueWhen I would be using Onenote 2013 to take notes with the pen and drag the document, I would have no issues. Howver, when I put the computer to sleep and wake it up again, the touch features (like zoome and draging) do not work. This is the same for the scrolling gesture with the trackpad. I would have to close one note and re open it to make it work again.  I have been looking through the forums about this issue, and have not been able to find a fix. Does anyone else have this problem? 2) Notification/Taskbar IssueWhen I would touch the screen to activate the touch screen keyboard to type, I would have not issues. After repeating the same task 5-6 times, the notification section would not respond, the icon for the keyborard would disappear. I would then simply rotate the screen to portrait and back to landscape and that would fix the problem.  I was wondering if there was something I could do to prevent this from happening at all. It is kind of annoying to have to flip the screen to tablet mode, only to rotate the screen to make it work.  3) Touchscreen keyboard issuesThis problem extends a bit mor... Read more

Hi

From what I see you have a Thinkpad Yoga 12 model 20DL. I don't have that model and maybe this is not direcctly focused to your issues, but when I updated to Windows 10 it take me some time to stabilize it.

I can recommend you to check on the drivers of the touchscreen and digiter.

This is your models support site, you can organize the drivers by OS and date so you can be sure to apply the latest:

SOme info about the laptop. Product Name: Sleekbook HP Pavilion 14-f004lOperating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) I've had this problem a couple times already. The touchscreen stops working sporadically and the only way to make it work again is installing the  AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe driver from this site. however this last time I've run into quite the weird problem. The driver installer CLOSES INMEDIATELY BEFORE I CAN DO ANYTHING A couple months ago I posted this:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/AUO-Touchscreen-Firmware-installer-doe... Since then due to time constrains and schoolwork, I did not attempt to restore the BIOS until today.Today I restored the BIOS, followed all procedures they gave me, and the installer for the Touchscreen firmware does the following: -Runs-Asks for permission-Install it-Finishes installing-Runs the program's window-Inmediately closes, I can't even click on anything because it flashes for a second and disappears. I've already restored the laptop to factory presets. The installer DOES THE SAME THINGRestored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. Nothing. Can anyone help me? Thank you

So I've had this happen countless times. The touchscreen stops working. The laptop is in perfect conditions. The screen, not even a scratch. I format the laptop, it still doesn' work. So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.

Answer:Touchscreen - I dont want to see any types of pointers when i use the touchscreen

Finally solved this nonsense!!  Nobody gave any input.   Anyway,  I selected show visible feedback and it wiped out those annoying pointers!  I do see some of the visual feedback, but it is better than seeing that little mouse icon in the apps screens and start menu when i used the touchscreen.

I opened my Hp Envy Ts m6 sleekbook and the screen cracked. It's got a crack from the top left corner diagonally all the way to the bottom of the screen,  two coming diagonally down from the right side to  the bottom of the screen where it  has several smaller cracks meeting all in the same area  in all directions . My laptop isn't under warranty anymore and I got it in December of 2013 . How can I go about fixing this, Would hp help? I'm not sure how expensive this is to get fixed. Thank you

I have only very recently bought this Yoga 2 a few weeks ago.The touch screen became unresponsive recently. I first thought it might have been caused by the windows 8.1 upgrade. However I have since noticed when I view the device manager & Human Interface Devices, view hidden devices the"HID-compliant touch screen" is greyed out. If I move the screen so that it is laying flat the touch screen stutters back to life briefly. I may be able to bring the screen upright and it will work for a little while. But inevitably will stop again. To my mind this strongy suggests a hardware issue. I only bought this for its touch screen feature. I'm beginning to regret my purchase!

Answer:Yoga 2 13 Touchscreen

I also have the Yoga 2 13.  I love this notebook/tablet. Have you tried doing a OneKey Recovery to force a factory reset?    If that does not work, I would return / exchange it. One of the big advantages of the Yoga 2 13 is that it can have the 500GB SSHD and a 128GB SSD for a fast performing PC with a lot of storage for not a lot of money ($898). The BB Yoga 2 13 has an empty M.3 SSD slot.

I am looking to buy a P70, but they stopped offering the 17" touchscreen. I configured one before Christmas, but then never purchased.  Now it doesn't appear to be available.  Has anyone here been able to get one?  Does it work well? I'm fearing that there were issues, so they stopped offering it.  Or maybe it's just that the part is unavailable?  If anyone here can offer fresh insights, I'd appreciate it because Lenovo customer service has been of absolutely no help.

Answer:Does anyone have a touchscreen on their P70 Thinkpad?

I placed an order for one through the ibm epp site the day after they became available. At that time it changed the build time from around a week to 4-5 weeks. I found a better deal on a pre built one on dec 23rd and cancelled that order. As of today I'm still waiting for the pre built one while a coworker who ordered one a day after me without the touch screen got his 2 weeks ago. My guess (because no one from lenovo seems to be talking) is that they're having supply chain problems. 17" touch screens have been around for a year or two so I'm not too concerned about problems once they do get them in. I just wish someone from lenovo would let us know what the problem is and how long until they get it figured out.

I purchased this laptop with a touch screen against my will, I hate touch screens they are just another thing to break. But the price was right. Now my daughter smashed the LCD and digitizer. I want to replace it with a non touch screen LCD. Is this possible? Any advice would help. Confirmed the laptop still functions through hdmi out.

I recently acquired a HP Pavilion all in one pc but there seem to be problems with the touchscreen. It registered touches very intermittently, and not always where I touched. First thing I tried was to calibrate it. But it just wouldn't register certain touches in some of the places it wanted me to press. Nest i Reset everything to factory settings, still not working same probs. Installed all the latest drivers and updates, no joy. But one morning I did turn it on and it worked perfectly. For half a day and then it was up to its old tricks.
Took it to a computer shop and they said it needed a new touchscreen card. Basically I want to know, do these touchscreen sort of devices have a piece of hardware, the card, specifically for touchscreen. or is he lying to me and its some software problem he could fix in ten minutes. He's quoting around £40for the card. And another £20-£30 for the labour. Any help would be much appreciated. If there is a card just for the touchscreen then I could believe him. But ive never heard of a card just for that. Any help would be so much appreciated. Had this around 3 weeks for my daughter to use the touchscreen as shes too young for mouse and keyboard, but she'd like a number of touchscreen games as she's very adept at using touchscreen on her tablet. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro with the Intel Core M 5Y70 Processor. Touchscreen has stopped working for awhile now and I haven't really gotten around to trying to find a solution until now since windows 10 has just been released. I'm currently getting an error 10 for the l2c HID device. Note that there are two displayed under my devices. I've tried uninstalling both and reinstalling to see if that works, but they still show back up the same way. Originally I was on Windows 8.1 and touchscreen stopped working, I'm assuming from some sort of driver issue (installed a wrong driver, or conflicting drivers). I thought Windows 10 could fix this by doing an upgrade, so I went through the upgrade process. Everything came out fine, but touch screen didn't work still. I downloaded and installed all the drivers needed on the Lenovo Support website. That didn't fix my problem. I then decided to reset my laptop and wipe everything for a clean install. Well after doing that on Windows 10, it brought me back to Windows 8.1 (that's fine, just took a bit longer to get back to windows 10). After Windows 8.1 was finished reinstalling, touch screen still didn't work. So I upgraded to WIndows 10 again and updated all the drivers again from the Lenovo Support website. Well touch screen still doesn't work. Might I add that the Windows Icon capacitive button on the screen works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel like i've tried everything on my side. I possibly ha... Read more

I got my Yoga back in December, and 2 weeks after that I had a lot of issues with the touch screen disabling, or the on screen keyboard not showing up and the touch pad being disabled.  That seemed to get better with an update and then a factory reset.   Now I'm having a NEW issue. About 1 inch square boxes start appearing on my screen sometime, and when they do I can't use any of the gestures to open the side bar and etc. I have to hit the start key then type shut down in order to get it to restart.  Sometimes it just seems to go away, I *think* it happens more frequently when my battery is lower but I'm not positive that's related at all. After it goes away or I restart, everything works great. The touch screen even works when it goes a little crazy, just the Windows 8 gestures don't and there's the wierd boxes on my screen. Anyone else have the same issue? Any thoughts? Besides this frequent and annoying issue, I LOVE this computer!

Answer:Yoga 13 touchscreen issues

hi shannonlh,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

The touchscreen issue might be similar to this thread:
Yoga 13 - Touch-screen swipe gestures CONSISTENTLY don't work first time.

For the On Screen Keyboard or the Touchpad problem, check this thread:
Yoga 13 TrackPad Issues

If you still get issues on the intermittent Touch screen swipe issue, you may need to send the unit for service to upgrade the firmware - see this thread.

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 13 almost a year ago and recently I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I've been having touchscreen issues ever since. Everytime I restart or wake make computer back up from sleep/hibernation the screen has this white square on the screen, it looks like this: The mouse is stuck here, but I found some weird trick to get the mouse unstuck and make the box go away. I just touch the screen with my finger where the box is and move it back and forth a few times and the mouse becomes unstuck. However, it leaves 2 white circles on the screen that stays there forever. Here is a picture of those circles. This makes windows think I am touching the screen when I'm really not and therefore I can't click things anymore because if I actually touch the screen then it thinks it's a 2-finger touch which turns into a zoom.  I've looked around and seen that some Lenovo Twist user has this problem here and he/she seemed to fix it with touchscreen firmware updates. However, I cannot seem to find any such fixes for the Yoga 13 since there is no touchscreen firmware update on the drivers site. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? FYI, I'm not sure if you'll need it but here are my comp specs:

I have a Yoga 3 14 laptop and I have the following problem:  Originally it was with OS Windows 8.1, I put Win 10 and I also plugged in a wiresless mouse. Since then the screen/mouse or touchpad cursor started functioning spontaneously, it opens apps randomly. When I touch the screen, normally a circle can be seen, but it happens occasionally without tapping the screen. I?ve run antivirus programs 4 times, installed new touchpad and screen drivers, removed the mouse, but it still happens. Now Windows 10 operating system working on my Yoga. No malware, drivers are up to date! I dont know what is this problem. Hardware or Software?Do you happen to have any idea what this could be and how to manage this problem?

Hi so I bought a Lenovo Yoga 700 only a day ago but I'm experiencing some weird thing with the touch screen. I have looked it up and can't seem to find a solution. I don't have ghost touches it more like if your on the desktop and you drag your finger across the screen as if you were making a section box as you drag it register's clicks across the screen instead of dragging if that makes sense. If I scroll through the programs list instead of scrolling it will think I have just clicked an icon. Is there any solutions for this or is it a bring it back the store job ? Thanks in advance

I bought a Yoga 3 Pro (1370) just before Xmas.  Worked fine until a month or so ago when the touchscreen suddenly stopped working and is unresponsive.  On trying to research this, I came across a reference to device manager.  I have checked my device manager and have a fault sign against "I2C HID Device" - there are two such entries, but only one has the yellow triangle.  I have tried disabling, uninstalling, refreshing the driver for the faulty entry, but nothing seems to work.  Thanks in advcance to anyone with any advice?

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

I received my Yoga 3 Pro just over a week ago and it has been great - I love it. This evening, in the middle of playing a game, the touschscreen went unresponsive. I did a restart and it worked for a few minutes then stopped again. Right now it is going back and forth between working and not working. I have gone through the forum post located here - https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Edge-Yoga-Flex-Laptops/Yoga-touchscreen-not-working/td-p/902131 - and these methods DO NOT work as it is for a different model - so they do not apply.

The touchscreen detects my fingers - when you tap the screen you can see the bubble where you touched - also, on a webpage or in a menu, I can scroll using the touchscreen - but I cannot click/tap anything - I cannot move windows, nothing.

As this is a brand new and quite pricey ultrabook, I am looking for a simple solution.

I've had my Yoga 900 for just a little while (got it the day that showed up in stores). I love it, save for one thing. One time, it got into this mode where touches would randomly appear on the screen (the little dot you get when you do a touch). At the same time, random keys seemed like they were being pressed. And you'd press the keys on the keyboard but they'd give you a totally different keystroke than they were supposed to. This persisted through two whole reboots. But it wouldn't happen 100% of the time. It'd be fine for a few minutes, then start doing it again. I managed to get a BIOS update in and a reboot, and the problem seemed to go away. But then in the last day or two, it has come back, albeit much much less horrifically. They'll be a stray touch on the screen with my hands nowhere near it (I'm almost always in laptop mode). Or something weird will happen like my browser will open a new tab that there's no good reason for. All of these might be phantom touches, but some could be phantom keys as well. Anyone else run into this? It seems like it's probably the hardware, though I can't rule out software.

I've not seen this reported previously for the Yoga 900, but a driver update for the Yoga 3 14 (I believe) fixed a similar issue. Windows 10 can give you visual feedback so that when "using the touch screen a round spot appears under your fingertip, even on the slightest touch".

If you don't like it, you can turn it off. Go to Settings/Ease of Access, and select the "Other options" in the menu. There you should see an item for "Touch feedback". Turn either or both of the settings off...

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

The driver download page for this model is pretty comprehensive, but one driver I'm missing is for the touchscreen itself.  I believe the touchscreen manufacturer for this model is Elan MicroElectronics, and that the part is the  Elan MicroElectronics 10 point touchscreen.  When I go to the Elan website, it refers me back to the system integrator (Lenovo) for drivers.  Is there a generic Windows driver in Win 8.1 that works with this hardware? (Before you ask, this is a unit that had a failed/replaced hard drive, so no D: partition is available with the original drivers.) Thanks.

I scan the drivers with specialized webssite, but nothing for the screen. And I dont have the Humman Interface Devices in the windows device manager to see if it's activate or not (like on this picture).? So i'm really lost and i need to have the computer OK for the next week-end (this is a gift).Sorry for my bad spelling (I'm french), and I hope this is understandable. Thank's a lot to everybody who can help me !

I have a funny problem with my X1 Yoga: when I touch the touchscreen with the finger or pen, the laptop locks my account. You can see in the following gif how the screen goes to black (video driver problem?) and then when it comes back Windows is in the lock screen.  Any idea what may be causing this? Software or hardware?

Hi,When the technician was replacing the faulty motherboard of my yoga 2 pro (out of warranty) with a new one, he accidentally pulled on the wires of the touchscreen connector cable and 4 of those wires detached from the connector. He couldn't remember the order they were in and they are so minute (can see them closely only with a lens) that he couldn't connect them back either. I have attached a photo below I'd be very grateful if anyone canplease tell me a) What is the right order of these wires (the four that are loose are white, red, orange and black) and is it possible to attach them with something - they are too minute too be soldered, so I don't know what to do.b) If the above is not possible, is it possible to buy this connector cable alone? If so where? I would very deeply appreciate some suggestions/help.Thank you,Lakshmi

My Yoga 13 touchscreen will suddenly stop working and then start working again. It usually stops working for anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. I've been unable to figure out what driver enables the touchscreen, so I don't know what version I'm running, but it is up to date according to Windows Update. The two issues began at different times and don't seem to have any relation to each other, but I have also been having WLAN issues. Here's a link in case someone thinks they are connected: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-13-connectivity-with-Realtek-RTL872... Many thanks.

The title says it all: Over the past month, my Yoga 2 Pro's touchscreen has stopped responding after waking up from sleep. Occasionall it works, but roughly 80% of the time I have to restart my computer. I'm not sure what's going on. Anyone experiencing this problem or has a solution? All help is appreciated!

Bumping this--anyone have any ideas? It's a real pain.

I recently bought a Yoga 520 from a local Lenovo's partner store. Everything worked fine, until I recently intalled the latest Windows update and restarted the device. I also enclosed the list of Update I installed until today (09/29). I had contacted the store where I bought the laptop and also consulted the local service center, but both of them couldn't resolve the issue. Some efforts I had tried:1. Accessed Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Touch Screen. I had tried to: 1) disable and reenable it, and 2) uninstall it and restart the laptop, but none of them works (the touchscreen still does not detect touch input). 2. Downloaded and installed the latest Wacom Drive, including the Wacom Dual Touch driver. This also does not resolve the issue. 3. Downloaded and installed the latest NVIDIA and Intel HD's graphic card driver. Again, the touch screen is still not responding. 4. Accessed the Universal Serial Bus Controller > USB Root Hub (xCHI) > Properties > Power Management and disabled the "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power". It still doesn't work. Some other conditions:1. The Lenovo's Wacom-powered pen works perfectly. The screen detects the digital input, but it does not detect hand/finger touch input.2. Doing full reset of Windows brings the touchscreen capability back. However, after Windows automatically downloaded and installed the forementioned ... Read more

Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop.  However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone experienced this or heard of a remedy? My Yoga 2 Pro's touchscreen will occasionally stop working, and the transition usually goes with it (meaning that when I rotate the device, the screen doesn't rotate to match). The bug is always fixed when I restart my laptop, and it only occurs after the laptop has been running for a while and I've closed the lid then reopened it. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Hi,i bought a Lenvo YOGA pad 13'' 4 weeks ago, and the touchscreen broke. I would like to ask, if there is a warrantee on the touchscreen too, and if not, how much does it cost to replace it?  Is it possible it could already be a broken model, cause i dont remember hitting it, and after a week a new broken part appeared and now the touchscreen is not even working at all. I bought the laptop in Poland. Thank you for the answer!Bence

I own a Thinkpad X1 Yoga (1st Gen) (model 20FQCTO1WW). Despite that I have owned it for 18 months, I have a stupid question:  Is the plastic film that overlays the touchscreen just something protective that can / should be removed? Or - since this is a touchscreen - is it integral to the operation of the display (so peeling it off would damage the display)?  On mine it is trimmed right to the black plastic bezel with greater precision than any temp / throw-away protective film that I have ever seen before, wihch makes me think that maybe it's supposed to be permanant. However, mine is also slowing turning milky / opaque. If I don't need it, I'd like to remove it. But, of course, I don't want to damage my $2k computer. I've trie to research this, but can't find anything on it.

Answer:X1 Yoga (1st Gen) - Plastic Film On Touchscreen

The film is for temporary protection,, but keeping it doesn't hurt anything as long as the screen has enough sensitivity.

Does anyone have a solution for a touchscreen that has stopped working. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and was hoping that would have fixed.  I performed a clean install for Windows.

Answer:Yoga 13 Touchscreen has stopped working

Hi eddiegio, Welcome to Lenovo Community 1,. As you mentioned just upgrading to win 10 just try to update the windows as in some of cases issue will be resolved after windows update. 2. Go to device manager and check whether you have any unknown device?  If you have any unknown device please try to install Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver from the driver page.  Regards, **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

Just got a new Yoga 2 11 and generally happy with it, but: Problem One: The sound sometimes just fails for a while ... sound just stops, then starts again, then stops again. This happens both with the speakers and when using earbuds. This happens even when the computer is mostly idle (doing nothing but playing music, for instance). It happens with multiple software-sources for the sound (games, music player, etc).Problem Two: I let the computer do some installing and downloading with the lid closed, and when I opened the lid again, there was a spot on the touch-screen that was going a bit spastic ... constantly drawing tiny selection rectangles and showing that "ghost" that the screen gets when you touch it ... but nobody was touching it. When I tried to use a mouse, that same spot on the screen would "steal" the mouse-pointer and prevent me from doing things. The problem eventually faded, but while it was there I noticed that it corresponded exactly to the warmest spot on the keyboard (the flat area to the right of the touchpad), which had gotten noticeably warm while the computer had been working on the downloads and installs. The problem faded as the system cooled down, so it seems likely that excessive warmth managed to confuse the touch-screen (though I'm not sure how, since I assume it's capacitive and doesn't respond to heat).

Update: Sound now seems to be failing completely.

Hi everybody, I just purchased the Lenovo Yoga home 900 and cannot manage to turn on the touchscreen function. Is there even such a function to turn off/on or is it just my device that isn't working properly? I'm thankful for any advice and hope this will be fixable in a minute

Answer:Yoga home 900 touchscreen does not work

I want to confirm you are talking about the 27" All-in-one PC.  There is no "off" button. It should always work.  Look in the device manager and see if there are any problem devices.
