I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: lumia 640 xl with windows 10 anniversary update battery life can better this time ?

I am afraid the only way to improve battery life is hard reset (reset to factory settings).

On the current Redstone build, it's virtually a tie. I was getting two days between charges on my 640 XL running 8.1. 14393.5 will give you two days charge as well.

I've found that battery life on 10581 is about as good at WP8.1. The Icon's battery life has never been great. You can read reports from many Icon users running Windows 10 Mobile here: http://forums.windowscentral.com/nok.../358896-17.htm

Hi all,
I've owned my Lumia 920 for 3 years now, purchased brand new and always looked after it. I've had no issues until yesterday, except for about 2 months ago the side-camera button stopped working to load the camera app and take photos (app tile and on-screen capture button now).
The night before last, I put my phone on charge whilst I went to sleep and when I woke up in the morning I found that the battery was showing as being in saver mode. I thought the lead had come loose so I let it charge again and confirmed it had the charge icon. When I took out the lead 30 mins later it had even less charge.
I thought the phone might just be going screwy so I did a soft reset (held volume down and power until the screen went off, and then the phone vibrated and reset). When the phone came back to life, it had 100% power.
Within 3 hours I was down to about 50% when it had just been sat on the desk, idle, next to me. I turned the phone off and on again, and the battery life was back up to about 98%.
This continued through the entire day; three times it entered battery saver, but when I reset the phone the battery life jumped back up to it's "real" value but then resumed falsely draining fast.
I thought I'd just let the phone run out of juice but I think it hangs at "5%" (false) battery and won't actually turn itself off. It was at 5% when I went to bed last night, and 8 hours later it was still at 5%. I reset it and it went back to 41% (having not been charged in just over 24 hour... Read more

I did a clean install with bootable media for Anniversary, and after I did that CPU rates went back to normal. But after I reinstalled my programs, it shot right back up to 100% CPU usage constantly.

If anyone figures this out it would be a godsend because it's been plaguing me for years now.

Here is a screenshot of literally nothing active running on my PC:

Any idea what it might be? I'm thinking it's a driver issue, but why would it only kick in a day later?

And does this change if you do a clean boot?

Lumia 735 on Verizon. Updated to 1607 OS build 10.0.1.14939.67 a couple days ago.
Huge change in battery life...for the worse.
I check battery usage by app...and its all Cortana. For example, I fully charged the unit, unplugged it and, it sat untouched for 10 hours. Cortana ate 50%!
I don't use Cortana normally. I've turned everything off in her notebook. Is there some way to turn her off...or save my battery power?
Let me be clear...this is not cool. I don't care what bells an whistles MS wants to brag about adding (mostly spyware by another name assuredly)...I used to be able to go days without recharging...now I can't go a day without the phone going into saving mode.
I am not happy about this.
Thanks for any advise.

Since there is an unsupported upgrade path to Creators Update for the Lumia 830, I'm curious if it's worth it. For those of you who have had experience with it the Creators Update on the Lumia 830, I'd like to consider the following:
1) Which build is more stable?
2) Does the 830 lose any functions such as camera capabilities, Wi-Fi, or other driver related issues?
3) Which build has better battery life?
What else can you think of?
Some have said that the 830 runs faster with the Creators Update. Has that been your experience?
So, the dilemma... stick with a stable known or enjoy the cutting edge.
Thanks to all for your feedback.

I have updated my nokia lumia 625 to the latest version of windows. I have now a battery life of only a few hours when I used to charge my phone only every 3 days. I still use my phone the same way and I was wondering what could cause that change... Any help welcome

Answer:post windows update battery life

Updates sometimes trigger battery life issues. Sometimes they can be fixed by something as simple as a reboot or a soft reset (power off + volume down until the phone restarts). Sometimes it takes something more drastic, like a hard reset. If you haven't tried the simple fixes, do those first.

On windows 7 this mode on Energy management software limits the charge percentage to 60% on Z580 But the charging doesnot stop it keeps charging and discharing to keep the level stable at  60%. Does that not void the whole point of running this mode?

Answer:Optimizing battery run time and battery life Faulty setting

Welcome to the forum toxicdevil.

The Energy Management for Win 7 is behaving normally. There is a 5% range, for when the system will initiate the charging sequence. It should begin charging when the battery gets down to 55%, and stop at 60%. If your gauge does not stop charging at 60% (Plugged In, Not Charging) you could have a problem.

Also, I noticed in your other post, you had upgraded to Win 8.1.

Hi
I know people talked a lot about this, but I couldn't find anything that gets close to my usage so let me ask.
How is battery life on your Lumia 730 while browsing web. Because mine drains 6-8% every 20minutes on wifi up to 9% every 20 minutes on 3g. Same goes if I use tubecast. Everything else seems to be fine though. Is this usage normal or could I do something to lower it?
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Lumia 730 battery life

I didn't calculate it, but GSMArena has pretty comprehensive battery life data. Nokia Lumia 730/735 review: Golden mean - page 3 - GSMArena.com
Are the numbers here consistent with your phone?
Although the phone's display uses more power displaying white as is the nature of the tech, you could try enabling battery saver.

I'm interested to find out what kind of battery usage people are getting out of their 640.I upgraded from a 630 couple of weeks back which I had charged every second morning.Battery life was great.Im struggling to get the same out of the 640 even with turning off most features, glance, vibration etc..It only lasts a day or just over with medium usage.
Anyone else notice a drop or improvement on battery from their older phones.
I'm now tending to charge my 640 more, like plug it into my laptop while I work,Is this bad for the battery ?

Answer:Lumia 640 battery life

I do not believe that comparing battery live with other people is helpful because what is medium use?
Is 20 minutes playing a game low/medium/high usage and which game?
Could I be that you use your 640 more because it's new and "faster" then your 630? (like playing a game which was not available on the 630)
No problem to charger your battery whenever you want.

Hello, I currently have a 720 and I am planning to buy a 830.
My biggest concern is the battery life.
Usually my 720 lasts for a approx 20 hours.
Should I go ahead with 830?
Thanks

Answer:Need help related to battery life of Lumia 830??

The 720's battery is 2000mAh and the 830's is 2200mAh. However, those numbers alone aren't sufficient because there are other factors to take into account like screen resolution as larger screens tend to require more power.
As ever, the biggest challenge with estimating battery life is how much you use the device and what for. I've just started using a 830 and its battery does seem to be lasting longer than my 925, which also has a 2000mAh battery. I don't know if that is enough help to answer your question, though :-).

Hi, prior to upgrading to windows 8.1 i would usually get about 4 to 5 hours of battery usage. However after updating to windows 8.1 this has significantly reduced to about 1.5 to 2 hours doing the exact same things with nothing changing . I have contacted toshiba who provided me with a replacement battery however this issue still persists. I have followed to the letter on how to update 8.1 following all instructions.

I am not really good with computers but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Satellite U940 - Battery Life decrease with Windows 8.1 update

Huh it is not easy to say what is wrong there. In front of me I have U940-103 with Win8.1.
Three weeks ago I?ve updated original preinstalled Win8 with Win8.1 and after battery test I didn?t notice any difference.
With full battery I can watch two movies without problems so with full battery I can use my Satellite U940 up to 4 hours.

It is not easy to say if the reason for lower battery capacity Win8.1 is.
I don't know if you want to do this but it will be interesting to know if something will change if you install original recovery image again.

And my phone is just 5 months old. You could have a faulty handset which is something I'm wondering about mine, have/had similar issues as yours but not near as bad... From all my reads I'd say Nokia missed the mark on this phone in regards to hardware, since haven't had an updates since Sept 2014 to see if that may help all I can go by is the hardware.
Can fully charge my battery (100%), turn off my phone then turn it back on in 15-20 min and it is down to 96%, sometimes it can be as low as 94% but never any lower no matter how long its been off, it's like the top end of the battery is wonky... Battery drain isn't too stellar either in my opinion, my Ativ S and 1020 are considerably better.
My capacitive buttons have gotten a tad better over time which is strange as nothing has changed, back button was the worst in the beginning.

No idea what has caused this. All battery apps give the same wrong estimate of time remaining. Over 6 days when it should be something like 1 Day xHours. The battery discharge rate seems to behave as normal percentage wise.
I've just updated it to Windows 10.0.14393.321 - still the same.
I've done a soft reset (power + volume down button) - still the same.
What else can I do? Is the OS dumb? Is the battery screwed?
The phone is under a month old.
p.s the battery gets quite hot under any semi intensive load but this seems to be a very common trait of the phone.

Hi there. I recently upgraded from a lumia 1320 to the new lumia 950 however this phone requires a charge twice over a 12 hour period(i use my phone moderately throughout the day). The 1320(3400mAh) gave me 2-3 days baterry life with a single charge, i have expected the 950(3000mAh) to give me atleast a day and a half due to the new software and the 1440p screen but thats not the case i lost 40% battery in 5 hours while on standby. Please note that the phone is only 4 days old and i have read other forums that suggested i do a reset of the device which i have done to no avail. On a full charge battery saver says it will last 16 hours after the reset it stated one day and 17 hours, short while later(78%) it stated that it will last only 17 hours. I really love the 950 and its awesome features but this battery is kiling me. Especially when theres a sony xperia m5 that lasts 2 days on a single charge. Nokia/ Microsoft phones were built on great Camera's, awesome sound quality and thee never ending battery life. i would be please if i can get through an entire day of use and still have 40% left over at the end of the day.

Hello guys, I recently bought a second-hand Lumia 640XL as my only phone from a guy. I do have warranty and all the things the phone had when he bought it just 6 months ago. I bought this phone for the battery life, although I know such a large screen does consume enough power. However, he claimed that he gets about 2 days of battery use, which is indeed really great. I do get about 15 hours, with about one hour of video-playing, half an hour of actually calling, about an hour of messaging, two hours or so of browsing the internet, and the rest of it being standby. Yesterday, I left home at 8:30 AM, and returned at 4:00 PM with still 61%, and after that, I've used to respond to messages, calls, and sometimes on Viber. At 11:00 PM I was having 45%, and at 1:00 AM I was having about 32% after an hour of browsing. The whole paranoid thing comes from my IPhone 4S, who used to drain in about 4 hours of stand-by. Do I have any problems with my battery ? I have brightness set to automatic, data set to 3G ONLY, Wi-Fi off when I do not use it, NFC off, BT is off also. As for background apps, I only have messages and phone, nothing more. Glance is also off. Looking forward to an answer. PLEASE!
Regards.

Answer:Why does my Nokia lumia 630 keep turning off with battery life?

I would suggest either a soft reset (hold the volume down button and power button simultaneously for 10-15 seconds or until the phone vibrates.) and if that doesn't work try a hard reset (this will make you lose your personal data on the phone but is more likely to solve this problem - go to settings>about>reset your phone.

I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S3 for two years. The battery drains fairly quickly with Facebook/Twitter/WhatsApp/Reddit/News/Music application usage over 4G/WiFi, and I often need to recharge the Samsung GS3 halfway through my day.
Now that I'm due an upgrade I'm hesitating between a Nokia Lumia 930 - to try out the WP8.1 ecosystem, but I'm concerned about what appears to be a plethora of battery problems - or to play it safe and take an HTC M8...
Input is welcome!

Answer:How does Nokia Lumia 930 battery life compare to a Samsung GS3?

I also had the Galaxy s3 for two years and I have the 930 for 2 months. The battery of the 930 does a lot better, it lasts me one day an a half, and the S3 didn't last me a whole day

Everyone knows that Li-Io batteriey life span is reduced if they are kept at 100% charge. Lenovo states this for various models and used to have for this particular reason a setting in the power manager for the W series (and several others) where one could adjust the maximum charge level. After 98 charge cycles, the 100Wh battery of a W540 is down to 37% capacity, leaving it running on battery only for a little over 1:30h. In a previous model or version of the power manager, I could specify whether I want to extend the life of my battery (I work mostly stationary) or whether I need it to charge to 100% as I have a business trip coming up. I'm up to date per Lenovo Sytem Update - but there es no setting to select the maximum charge level in the settings app. Where did that go? Thanks!  Some quotes from Lenovo:"Lenovo has included a battery 'Conservation Mode', which prolongs your battery longevity (how long the battery will tend to last before finally needing to be replaced ) by limiting charging to battery to 55% ~ 60% of the battery capacity rather than fully charging it to 100%.  The trade off is that the system will not run as many hours as would otherwise be possible with a 100% charge." "Keeping your battery charged to 100% all the time may reduce the lifespan of the battery. If you open Energy Management and click on the button beside Optimize for Battery Runtime, you can choose to Optimize for Battery Lifespan. This will limit the... Read more

Hi, Lenovo claims the X1 (4th gen) or X1 Yoga can last 11 hours on battery. Great numbers but I guess nobody experienced it.The best I can get is a top 5 hours making sure that the system is on power save mode and about 6 hours when the Battery saver is enabled on Windows 10. I had to install a program to switch to save mode every time the laptop is running on battery. If not I forget to switch to Power Save mode and the battery only last 2 hours. I also pay attention to background program that may eat CPU.Honestly, 6 hours of battery life is pretty good but not even close the 11 hours claimed by Lenovo. The new X1 will have 16 hours of battery life, it means 8 hours in reality. Here are my questions. How many hours do you get on your X1 4gen or X1 Yoga? What did you do to improve it?Any secret recipe?

I really do not have a preference to which OS that I use, either XP Pro or Vista Business (although have never used Vista before) but I am wondering if using one verse the other would help increase and stretch the battery life.  If all things being equal as far as functions, radios turned on, screen brightness and such, will one give me longer run times than the other? I have read a few entries and there seems to be more updates, revisions and features are being developed and put into Lenovo's management systems for Vista, so I am wondering if perhaps that would have any difference as well. One more thing, has there been any updates/upgrades since Feb or March that would make a difference in the run time of the battery life with either Vista, XP or any of the Lenovo management systems?  I ask because I read the review at notebookreview and I was shocked that they only got about 3 1/2 to 4 hours of use from the X300 and the T400 is getting over 6 1/2 hours and both machines are using 6 cell batteries.

Answer:Does OS effect battery run time/life?

As a rule of the thumb, XP gives better battery life than Vista, at least on the machines that I've had both on which would include T42p, T43p, X61s (ultralight LCD) and T61p. Hope this helps.

If you think the update or install process is stuck, try a soft reset. Press the volume down and power/lock button at the same time and hold until the phone vibrates.
Report back if that works. The process should be 30 to 60 minutes

I've installed the anniversary update on my Lumia 950, and Cortana isn't behaving herself at all. If I ask something of her (speaking), she doesn't respond out loud -- even if I say "sing me a song" -- I just get the words on the screen. Further, once I have asked her something, then the next time she won't "listen" at all. Voice input doesn't work, and I have to reboot the phone. How did this get released?

Just a quick question. I have an A100-999, the cheapest of three laptops that I have but for me the best. I wasjust wondering where I could find out about average battery life for the long life battery I have just bought.

Answer:Satellie A100-999: What is the battery life time

Hi

Usually all information about the battery should be provided in the user manual which is preinstalled on the notebook.
It?s also very important to know, that the battery life time depends on the notebook usage.
Using heavy performance applications and additional devices like ODD will decrease the battery working time.
So in such case it?s not easy to say the exactly battery life time.
The notebook was delivered with the standard 4000mAh battery. If you want to use the notebook for a longer time you can buy a stronger battery.

I have an Equium L20-197 which only has a battery life of 1.5 hours at the outside. Is it possible to bu a different battery with more long-lasting power, as it pointless having wireless if it keeps having to be plugged in.

Hope someone can help.

Answer:Equium L20-197: Possible to buy a battery with longer life time?

Hi

Firstly you should know that the battery life time depends on the notebook usage.
Secondly as far as I know this notebook was delivered with a standard 2000mAh battery.

On the Toshiba page under Option & Accessories I have found a compatible battery pack 8 cell, 4300mAh part number: PA3420U-1BRS

This battery should support a longer life time as the battery 2000mAh.

By the way; such batteries you can purchase from the ASP in your country

I used to have an M2 which had a battery life of around 3hr 45. Last Jan I got an M3, and was surprised it was only 1hr 30 running just Word and a low memory music program. Closing the screen and running only the music program pushed it up to 1hr45. I'd assumed it was because it had a faster cpu etc. but two of my friends also had Toshibas and they thought it was a battery issue.
So what's the battery life of a 1.83GHZ M3 supposed to be?

Answer:Tecra M3: Question about Battery life time

Hi

According to the unit description the battery should run about 3hours.
But the battery working time depends from many different things and this is not a precise value. It???s very important how you use the notebook, which programs are running, how old the battery is, how many devices run together is, etc???
In this case generally it???s not easy to say if the battery has a fault or not.

Hi there,

Anybody any idea about how long the 1812 LiOn battery of a HP R707 camera should last ?
What are the indications for such a battery to become 'end of live' ?

Yesterday , the battery apparently wouldn't load beyond 3.4 volt.
The camera stayed 'dead' ofcourse.
A second load-attempt gave me 4.3 volts.
And now the camera appears to be function as usual.

The R707 is about 2 years , I took about 4000 pictures up till now.

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a tablet PC - was having a look at the Portege M400 and Tecra T7 models. Although the battery life would be tolerable, I guess it would depend on how you've set up the computer and how you use it - and I would definitely prefer a safety margin of longer than 5 hours (3 on the tecra). Do these models have the option to swap a new battery pack in and out easily, or to install a second battery to expand the life?

thanks,

I recently picked up a Spectre to test drive for a couple weeks. Overall, I like it a lot but there are a couple unpolished elements that bother me, especially that "Calculating" is always displayed instead of a time remaining estimate. A little bit after getting home from the store, I flipped the screen into tablet mode, and it caused unrecoverable screen tearing until force reboot. Next day, I updated Windows to latest build, hoping it'd solve the display driver issue (so far so good, fingers crossed). But after the update it seems to be stuck "Calculating" (if that is indeed what it's doing). Some other posts on this forum seem to suggest that HP removed the feature. Can I expect this to be patched in the future, or is there a workaround? Not looking for a third party application... as others have said, even just disappearing the "Calculating" would begrudingly satisfy me. I guess it's really an aesthetic gripe, yet it will never stop bothering me. Between this and the screen tearing, I'm on the fence whether to keep the device or return it and wait for a skylate macbook pro. If anyone could elucidate me to a known workaround, or confirmation from HP that this will be fixed, I would greatly appreciate it!

It may not be connected of course, but soon after the Anniversary update the battery of my new Cube tablet PC started draining. It cannot now be started. What can I do to get it going again? There is just a blank screen. The only sign of life is that the charging notification continues flashing.

Try replacing the battery and check whether it starts. Don't buy one unless this solves the problem.

Hi there. Which flavour of W10M are you running? Did you just do the standard upgrade from 8.1? The advice of many others, and the standard reply would be to do a hard reset. This will allow the software a clean slate for installation, and eliminate any incompatible elements left by 8.1. It is an unfortunate fact that this is common place.
If you are up for it, go to settings > About > reset your phone. The other advice often given is not to restore from a back up. Any apps you have will be in store, and emails and texts, should be restored when you sign in. You could restore from a back up and see how it goes, but any issues will have your resetting again.
Hope that helps, and why not join the forums? There is a dedicated thread for the 1520, and plenty of in... Read more

Hi!At first I hope I'm posting in the right forum for my questions about the upcoming X301. If not, please move to the right section.Next I want to ask a few questions about some facts I read in the first reviews of the X301 (sources see below). First the reviewers experience a notable shorter battery life of the Thinkpad X301 (3h max without the additional bay battery) compared to the X300 (4.5h max without the additional bay battery). Is this true or do you will there be any optimizations which will lengthen battery life until you sale them?Next, one of the testing sites mention, the boot time is about 1min 37sec on first startup, which is again far longer than booting the X300 on first startup. Will here also be some optimizations till shipping the X301?  I'm referring to these sources:geek.comGottaBeMobile.comLaptop MagazineTigerDirect videomaybe anyone can send this to someone official, who may answer my questions?greetings from Austria,myAces

Today I restored my Satellite A200 to factory settings.
This is about the 4th time I've done this in the last 2 years.

Now my battery life is screwed up.

100% charged with about 10 minutes remaining (image: http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3548/100g.png)

85% charged with 8 minutes remaining (image: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/723/46880270.png)

What's going on?

I'm afraid if I restore to factory settings again to 'fix' the problem it will only make it worse and end up being 2 minutes remaining at fully charged.

Hi guys,

I have a Satellite M105 and I think Im not getting good battery life out of it. I've had the machine for 1 month and I can get barely 1:50 mins on battery power, with minimum brightness and wifi on, just surfing the web and listening to mp3s. Is this the expected performance for this machine type?

It has a 1.8 Core Duo, 1 Gb RAM, 80 gb HD, x1300 ATI 14'' Any clues? I use the "long life" power saver scheme from Toshiba application. My battery wasn't affected by Toshiba voluntary exchange action.

Thanks

Answer:Satellite M105-SP381: short battery life time - about 1:50 mins

HI Juan,

Different parts of you notebook will use power at higher or lower rates. Generally any component with a mechanical action (your hard drive, optical drive, Floppy drive etc) will use somewhat more power than the CPU, RAM etc.

The effect of this is to drain the battery faster if the hard drive or optical drive is in use. So typically you would expect to get longer battery life if you were using an application such as Word or Excel where there is minimal hard drive activity unless you are constantly saving or loading documents.

In your case the playing of MP3 files will need to constantly load data from the hard drive (albeit cached to reduce the number of accesses) while you internet browsing is constantly writing pages to your Temporary Internet folder (as well as accessing your anti-virus database). All this hard drive activity will mean that the hard drive is never allowed to spin down and so will need to use battery power.

As long as you follow the usual recommendations for optimising your battery (allow it to discharge fully from time to time) I think the time you are actually getting is reasonable for the type of activity you are performing.

regards,

My new X1 is great for crunching through data but the power consumption seems very high at idle or when I am doing simple tasks. I have BIOS version 1.27 (released 21/Oct/2011) and Power Manager 3.62 I have used Power Manager to set Power Use to "High energy savings". However, the power used is always >20W and usually around 25-27W. This results in excessive heat (so the fan goes at 4500rpm all the time) and the battery is lasting less than 1 hour if I give a Powerpoint presentation (no movies). Also, the Power Manager shows GPU at 100% all of the time - is this normal or might it be a cause of increased power requirements? I have tried all the solutions to fan noise in this thread:http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x1-fan-Noise/td-p/469001 I have tried setting all power settings to maximise battery life in Windows 7 and then also in Power Manager but to no avail. Please help! What are the ormal power requirements and GPU% at idle?

Answer:X1 - high power consumption (>20W), GPU 100% all the time, short battery life, loud fan-noise

Check Task Manager to see if there's anything running that is using CPU.As far as I know, there aren't any tools for determining which program is using the integrated GPU. You may try ending services one at a time.

I had upgraded my laptop to Win10 AU yesterday and installed updates and stuff like that.
Everything is running fine However, after entering my password from the logon prompt, it would say Welcome... like for 15 to 20 seconds and then my desktop would load normally.

I am not even running disk encryption (which I would assume would slow the process down even more)
Does anyone have the same issue?
On the version 1511, it was much more faster.

Answer:Win10 Anniversary Update - Logging in takes long time

Because it takes a while to do its housekeeping due to it is a brand new OS version of Windows 10.

When I first got my Yoga 13, I used to be able to leave my computer off the charger all night running(not asleep) with the screen off, and in the morning it would have a good amount of charge left. When I did an update, I noticed that my power options changed. I don't remember what the options were before, but now they are "balanced" and "power saver." With power saver selected, my computer is dead by morning. Does anyone know why there is such a drastic change in battery life after the update?

Answer:Yoga 13 battery life reduced after update

Open the Battery Manager and choose "Maximum Battery Life"

Has anyone else experienced a decrease in battery life after installing the creator update, and if so, are there any fixes?
(The decrease in battery life is accompanied by the fan running really fast and a high amount of memory and CPU being used).

Answer:Creator update decrease in battery life

What device are you using?

I've had a Lumia 920 for almost one year. What happens is that I've never had something that you will call amazing battery life. But with time it's been getting worse and worse. And now even at 100% charge the phone shows an approximate of 11 hours of battery remaining. It's ridiculous and even if it lasted that said 11 hours. But it only lasts for about 7 hours. I have tried all, almost nothing is running on the background and my e mail is set to manual, it's very frustrating. Please, help, this is unbearable. I have considered on changing the battery but I'm not sure if that would be the real problem. And since I live in Costa Rica it is very difficult to find support. Note I bought this phone at amazon and came with a French firmware.

Answer:My Lumia 920 still experiencing battery drain after all this time. Help!

Have you thought about or done a hard reset?
Starting from scratch alleviated many of my battery issues in the early weeks of 8.1.

Charging the Lumia 640 XL LTE.
After receiving my Lumia a month ago, I updated to Windows 10 v1607.
1) The Lumia 640 XL comes with a 750mA charger.
I want to make use of 2 other chargers. All 3 chargers have 5V output.
Will using a Nokia 1.2A charger or a Blackberry Playbook 1.8A charger harm the Lumia 640 XL battery?
2) Initially the Lumia 640 XL showed, after charging to 100%, a remaining time of 40 hours and discharge rate of 2.5%.
I then downloaded a couple of battery apps.
I usually charge the battery overnight to 100%.
After some use today, both apps now show 76% with 55 hours remaining and a discharge rate of 1.32%.
I can't believe the Lumia battery has become that efficient.
I plan on removing the 2 Apps to see if they are responsible for these divergent numbers.

Answer:Lumia 640 XL LTE: 1) Using different chargers; 2) battery remaining time.

I plan on removing the 2 Apps to see if they are responsible for these divergent numbers. 1) better not using too much amperes with charger, it could overheat recharge phone circuit. Try 1.2 and check back cover temp from time to time
2) remaining time is always a statistic istant-on extimation. Obviously, istant battery use changes second after second, so don't believe to anyone of these prediction, use a long term statistic battery check instead (even if I don't trust so much in these apps, MS limited battery check to once every 15 mins to 3rd part apps )

Hi all,
I just upgraded from a Lumia 640 to a Lumia 950 (second hand) and its great so far (well I like both phones but the 950 takes the cake ofcourse). The only thing that I would like to increase is my battery life a bit. Especially when the screen is on the battery seems to drain quite fast (even with screen brightness set to low). I think the main culprit its the high resolution screen. Though I gather its probably not possible to lower the screen resolution? (cause honestly I don't think I would see the difference anyway if e.g. it would be set to fullhd or such)
So I have been thinking about alternative solutions. Perhaps the Lumia 950 can charge when I connect it to my laptop usb 3.0 port? I tried that once with a Chuwi (vi8 plus) tablet which worked but I don't know if the Lumia 950 also supports it?
If that isn't an option, are there perhaps other tricks out there? Maybe some huge battery or perhaps removing backgrounds from start etc or such?
Also please note that I already turned of most background apps and the battery info says the drain is mostly from 'start', 'note tiles' app, mail & agenda, what'sapp.
-edit; forgot to mention that I am running version/update 1709.
Thanks for taking the time.

Hello,
A week or two ago, I started seeing a pop-up appear on my Inspiron screen (I run Windows 8). The pop-up said that the AC adapter was not recognized, and therefore, the battery would not charge. It was the same 65W adapter that came with the laptop. I hit F2 at startup to check the BIOS, and it said the adapter wasn't recognized. I decided to order a new adapter. While I waited for it to arrive, the battery gradually drained down, but the laptop continued to work while plugged in.
The new adapter came today, an official Dell adapter. I plugged it in... Same error message. Adapter not recognized.
I ran a check on the battery; the system says the battery is fine. I pulled the battery, and the laptop still worked via the adapter. I jiggled and checked all the connections. Couldn't find an issue and couldn't make it work.
I checked the BIOS version and date, and it's from 2013. Time for an update! I downloaded the latest version, but here's the problem: It won't install without the battery sitting at at least a 10% charge. The battery, of course, won't charge with either adapter (it's reading at 1% now). So I can't update the BIOS without some battery life, but I can't make it recognize the adapter and charge the battery without the updated BIOS (assuming that's even the problem, but I'm hopeful that's all it is).
If anyone has any suggestions for how I might make this work, I would very much appreciate it! Thank you!!!

Answer:Catch-22: No BIOS updated without battery, no battery life without BIOS update...

Please list Dell model number and version of windows. Ex: Dell Inspiron 3543, windows 10
If you don't know, type msinfo32 onto the search box, and then look for System model.....
In the meantime, please check the USB port, where the AC adapter is plugged into system, is loose. You could also wiggle the Adapter's end while checking it in the BIOS to see if the Adapter's type appears.
