Yoga 2 13 Touchscreen Problem after Win 10 Upgrade

Question: Yoga 2 13 Touchscreen Problem after Win 10 Upgrade

After upgrading my Yoga 2 13" Notebook to Windows 10, the operating system is unable to recognize the pen & touch drivers on the system board. I'm able to see what appear to be generic "Slate" and "USB Input" drivers in under install Human Interface Devices within the Device Manager. However, when observing Windows System information, the OS reports that it is not capable of Pen & Touch. Lenovo's Synaptics drivers do not appear to install the Touchscreen drivers upon installation. I have attempted performing a full system recovery multiple times now, and installing Lenovo drivers manually. No change in status. Looking for a solution if anyone else has been able to resolve this issue. ??

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Let me know if you need more clarification I'll be around for a while.

This is my first post in the community.  I got my Yoga 3 14" two weeks before the Windows 10 launch and I was loving it.  I did the 10 upgrade and it seemed to be working great for the first couple days, and I deleted the "windows.old' files.  My touchscreen has started having problems though, and they seem to be related to Windows 10.  It wil work for a while after I turn the computer on, and then it starts to become less and less responsive until I restart again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the touchscreen drivers.  This seemed to make it work a little longer.  Is there an update that Lenovo has for this driver, or somthing that it is missing from Windows 8 that I could add to my windows 10 files to make it work better? I mostly am hoping to find that others are having the same problem, so that a software fix can make it better.  If it is a problem wtih my machine only I'll have to start looking into using my warrenty to get a replacement. Thanks.

Answer:Touchscreen on Yoga 3 14" working poorly after Windows 10 upgrade

I'm in the same situation. Purchased a Yoga 3 this summer and everything worked great after the windows 10 upgrade for a couple of weeks. Then suddenly not only did my touchscreen stop working, the USB ports also stopped responding. Under the system information it stated that my computer had no pen out touch input is availble for the display. I was unable to resolve the issue and reverted back to windows 8.1. Everything is functioning normally with the old operating system. Hopefully Lenovo will release an update that fixes the problem. I think I'm just going to hold off upgrading to windows 10 for a few more months.

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 then soon after I've noticed a problem where the touch screen doesn't work. Usually it starts working after the laptop has been active for a minute or two. It then works pretty much as normal but can sometimes stop again. I've checked the drivers for it and it has the latest drivers according to Windows. I have applied other Lenovo Win 8.1 drivers but have seen nothing specific to the touch screen. Anyone else experienced issues or have ideas to fix this? Thanks,Nigel

Hello, I recently purchased this laptop and enjoy the 2-1 feature, when it works.  Sadly, it doesn't always work.  If I reboot, it usually does work, but after being on for some time, or after being dormant a litte, it stops.  Sometimes the scroll will work, but the touch does not work to open/close browers tabs or even open files.   Any assistance is appreciated.  If this doesn't get resolved, I will be returning the device.   Thanks!

I have a Yoga 3 14 laptop and I have the following problem:  Originally it was with OS Windows 8.1, I put Win 10 and I also plugged in a wiresless mouse. Since then the screen/mouse or touchpad cursor started functioning spontaneously, it opens apps randomly. When I touch the screen, normally a circle can be seen, but it happens occasionally without tapping the screen. I?ve run antivirus programs 4 times, installed new touchpad and screen drivers, removed the mouse, but it still happens. Now Windows 10 operating system working on my Yoga. No malware, drivers are up to date! I dont know what is this problem. Hardware or Software?Do you happen to have any idea what this could be and how to manage this problem?

Hi,I've just bought a lenovo Yoga 3 14'' (80JH) and since my company only uses windows 7 Professional, I have to downgrade it from windows 8 (pre build). I've never realized I dificult it could be to install win7 in this laptop. I'm using Bios on legacy support. I've tried with a external DVD and with from USB configured by official Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool. In both cases I get the windows error message ""A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now." Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."I've tried then to add the USB3 drivers to the image without success.  If you did install windows 7 in the Lenovo yoga 3 (14''), could please share how did you do it?Help needed! Thank you

Hi so I bought a Lenovo Yoga 700 only a day ago but I'm experiencing some weird thing with the touch screen. I have looked it up and can't seem to find a solution. I don't have ghost touches it more like if your on the desktop and you drag your finger across the screen as if you were making a section box as you drag it register's clicks across the screen instead of dragging if that makes sense. If I scroll through the programs list instead of scrolling it will think I have just clicked an icon. Is there any solutions for this or is it a bring it back the store job ? Thanks in advance

Ever since I bought this laptop, I noticed within the first week that I've had a weird touch screen problem. There's usually always one spot that doesn't register touch. It's about an inch in diameter so it's pretty annoying whenever I am trying to take notes. The thing is, it changes it's location on reboot. There might be times where I never notice the spot, and then times where it's extrememly frustrating because I look down after taking notes and there's a whole spot where I have to redo my notes by scrolling up/down to be able to write back.  I talked to support within the first month and they wanted me to send it in. Unfortunately I couldn't part with it so I didn't send it in. It's been over a year so I'm afraid it's probably out of warrenty. Just want to know if anyone has came across this issue and if anyone has figured it out.  I've done a couple wipes since then. Now running windows 10 and still having the issue. Anyone know what's up?

I have only very recently bought this Yoga 2 a few weeks ago.The touch screen became unresponsive recently. I first thought it might have been caused by the windows 8.1 upgrade. However I have since noticed when I view the device manager & Human Interface Devices, view hidden devices the"HID-compliant touch screen" is greyed out. If I move the screen so that it is laying flat the touch screen stutters back to life briefly. I may be able to bring the screen upright and it will work for a little while. But inevitably will stop again. To my mind this strongy suggests a hardware issue. I only bought this for its touch screen feature. I'm beginning to regret my purchase!

Answer:Yoga 2 13 Touchscreen

I also have the Yoga 2 13.  I love this notebook/tablet. Have you tried doing a OneKey Recovery to force a factory reset?    If that does not work, I would return / exchange it. One of the big advantages of the Yoga 2 13 is that it can have the 500GB SSHD and a 128GB SSD for a fast performing PC with a lot of storage for not a lot of money ($898). The BB Yoga 2 13 has an empty M.3 SSD slot.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga touchscreen off and on (and off)

i have had this problem before, and it could be hardware based. One of the sure way to find out whether this is a hardware based issue, is to go into the BIOS menu, and see whether you can navigate the BIOS menu based on touch. I bought a Lenovo Yoga 13 almost a year ago and recently I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I've been having touchscreen issues ever since. Everytime I restart or wake make computer back up from sleep/hibernation the screen has this white square on the screen, it looks like this: The mouse is stuck here, but I found some weird trick to get the mouse unstuck and make the box go away. I just touch the screen with my finger where the box is and move it back and forth a few times and the mouse becomes unstuck. However, it leaves 2 white circles on the screen that stays there forever. Here is a picture of those circles. This makes windows think I am touching the screen when I'm really not and therefore I can't click things anymore because if I actually touch the screen then it thinks it's a 2-finger touch which turns into a zoom.  I've looked around and seen that some Lenovo Twist user has this problem here and he/she seemed to fix it with touchscreen firmware updates. However, I cannot seem to find any such fixes for the Yoga 13 since there is no touchscreen firmware update on the drivers site. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? FYI, I'm not sure if you'll need it but here are my comp specs:

Answer:Yoga 13 Touchscreen Issues

The driver download page for this model is pretty comprehensive, but one driver I'm missing is for the touchscreen itself.  I believe the touchscreen manufacturer for this model is Elan MicroElectronics, and that the part is the  Elan MicroElectronics 10 point touchscreen.  When I go to the Elan website, it refers me back to the system integrator (Lenovo) for drivers.  Is there a generic Windows driver in Win 8.1 that works with this hardware? (Before you ask, this is a unit that had a failed/replaced hard drive, so no D: partition is available with the original drivers.) Thanks.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro with the Intel Core M 5Y70 Processor. Touchscreen has stopped working for awhile now and I haven't really gotten around to trying to find a solution until now since windows 10 has just been released. I'm currently getting an error 10 for the l2c HID device. Note that there are two displayed under my devices. I've tried uninstalling both and reinstalling to see if that works, but they still show back up the same way. Originally I was on Windows 8.1 and touchscreen stopped working, I'm assuming from some sort of driver issue (installed a wrong driver, or conflicting drivers). I thought Windows 10 could fix this by doing an upgrade, so I went through the upgrade process. Everything came out fine, but touch screen didn't work still. I downloaded and installed all the drivers needed on the Lenovo Support website. That didn't fix my problem. I then decided to reset my laptop and wipe everything for a clean install. Well after doing that on Windows 10, it brought me back to Windows 8.1 (that's fine, just took a bit longer to get back to windows 10). After Windows 8.1 was finished reinstalling, touch screen still didn't work. So I upgraded to WIndows 10 again and updated all the drivers again from the Lenovo Support website. Well touch screen still doesn't work. Might I add that the Windows Icon capacitive button on the screen works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel like i've tried everything on my side. I possibly ha... Read more

Hello, I  only purchased this yesterday and already i'm starting to regret it.  Apart from a hardware issue that Lenovo tell me wont cause any problems and will fix itself when the Solution Center is updated, I have noticed that when using the touch screen a round spot appears under your fingertip, even on the slightest touch.  Its rather irritating and I can find myself reaching for the ipad already! I have read other posts that have mentioned ghosting and a firmware update, does anyone know if this would sort my spots out Spoiler (Highlight to read)

Windows 10 can give you visual feedback so that when "using the touch screen a round spot appears under your fingertip, even on the slightest touch".

If you don't like it, you can turn it off. Go to Settings/Ease of Access, and select the "Other options" in the menu. There you should see an item for "Touch feedback". Turn either or both of the settings off...

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

I got my Yoga back in December, and 2 weeks after that I had a lot of issues with the touch screen disabling, or the on screen keyboard not showing up and the touch pad being disabled.  That seemed to get better with an update and then a factory reset.   Now I'm having a NEW issue. About 1 inch square boxes start appearing on my screen sometime, and when they do I can't use any of the gestures to open the side bar and etc. I have to hit the start key then type shut down in order to get it to restart.  Sometimes it just seems to go away, I *think* it happens more frequently when my battery is lower but I'm not positive that's related at all. After it goes away or I restart, everything works great. The touch screen even works when it goes a little crazy, just the Windows 8 gestures don't and there's the wierd boxes on my screen. Anyone else have the same issue? Any thoughts? Besides this frequent and annoying issue, I LOVE this computer!

Answer:Yoga 13 touchscreen issues

hi shannonlh,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

The touchscreen issue might be similar to this thread:
Yoga 13 - Touch-screen swipe gestures CONSISTENTLY don't work first time.

For the On Screen Keyboard or the Touchpad problem, check this thread:
Yoga 13 TrackPad Issues

If you still get issues on the intermittent Touch screen swipe issue, you may need to send the unit for service to upgrade the firmware - see this thread.

I've had my Yoga 900 for just a little while (got it the day that showed up in stores). I love it, save for one thing. One time, it got into this mode where touches would randomly appear on the screen (the little dot you get when you do a touch). At the same time, random keys seemed like they were being pressed. And you'd press the keys on the keyboard but they'd give you a totally different keystroke than they were supposed to. This persisted through two whole reboots. But it wouldn't happen 100% of the time. It'd be fine for a few minutes, then start doing it again. I managed to get a BIOS update in and a reboot, and the problem seemed to go away. But then in the last day or two, it has come back, albeit much much less horrifically. They'll be a stray touch on the screen with my hands nowhere near it (I'm almost always in laptop mode). Or something weird will happen like my browser will open a new tab that there's no good reason for. All of these might be phantom touches, but some could be phantom keys as well. Anyone else run into this? It seems like it's probably the hardware, though I can't rule out software.

Answer:Yoga 900 - Sometimes the keyboard and touchscreen ...

Good day and welcome to the community.

Sorry you're having difficulty.
I've not seen this reported previously for the Yoga 900, but a driver update for the Yoga 3 14 (I believe) fixed a similar issue. So, if you would, please confirm which video driver version you have, and compare it to what's listed in the driver listing: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-900-13isk

Hello,

I have a brand new yoga 700 and I was ready to ship it back to Lenovo.  My touchscrren were not working properly and I had ghost touches.  I found nothing related to this issue for the yoga 700.

However, some people had the same issue with the Yoga 3 14.  see https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103512

After verification, I realized that I have the same hardware (LG) .  I applied the firmware recommended in the article and now my touchscreen work perfectly.

I hope this post can help some people.

I just bought the same device last week. The link you posted doesn't go to a functinal page, can you please help? I'm having the same issue and am thinking I will have to ship it back. I haven't yet talked to Lenovo. Why do all the links with that address go to pages that have a long error message on it??

I received my X1 Yoga Gen 2 about a month ago and the touchscreen stops working after using it with the pen.  From what I can tell, the screen starts working again by switching from Laptop to Tablet mode.  The pen works fine for a few minutes of use and then stops selecting but I still get a cross hair on the screen? eventually the cross hair stops show up to.  If I switch the computer back to Laptop mode the screen starts to work again.  Anyone else have the same type of problem?

I have had a lenovo yoga three since around late july. Never experience any problems with it until I brought it up to college. From early septemeber I have been experiencing the touchscreen spazzing out and having mutliple touchpoints on the screen when I'm nowhere near. I found what I thought was the solution here:  Try this fix: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF15-I0024  I installed it tonight and haven't been able to get the touchscreen to work since. Did this program turn off the touchscreen completely? I always like using the touchscreen, and would like to have it back on.

Hi everybody ! I really need your help. I've bought a Lenovo YOGA 300 11-BY with Windows 10.But all the factory stuff (McAffee, Lenovo utilities, and other bull**bleep**...) are too long to clen completely. So I proceed to a Windows 10 total resettlement, with an usb key directely on windows (the bios was telling me "USB boot no supported" ?!).Anyway, with my fresh Windows all the drivers was correct (I have sound, wifi, ethernet, touchpad...) without any setup from me. But I loose the touch screen !!! I try to setup "lenovo utilities" and "mode controle" from lenovo support. I scan the drivers with specialized webssite, but nothing for the screen. And I dont have the Humman Interface Devices in the windows device manager to see if it's activate or not (like on this picture).? So i'm really lost and i need to have the computer OK for the next week-end (this is a gift).Sorry for my bad spelling (I'm french), and I hope this is understandable. Thank's a lot to everybody who can help me !

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

I received my Yoga 3 Pro just over a week ago and it has been great - I love it. This evening, in the middle of playing a game, the touschscreen went unresponsive. I did a restart and it worked for a few minutes then stopped again. Right now it is going back and forth between working and not working. I have gone through the forum post located here - https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Edge-Yoga-Flex-Laptops/Yoga-touchscreen-not-working/td-p/902131 - and these methods DO NOT work as it is for a different model - so they do not apply.

The touchscreen detects my fingers - when you tap the screen you can see the bubble where you touched - also, on a webpage or in a menu, I can scroll using the touchscreen - but I cannot click/tap anything - I cannot move windows, nothing.

As this is a brand new and quite pricey ultrabook, I am looking for a simple solution.

Answer:Yoga 3 Pro Touchscreen Unresponsive

I have tried all the methods in the Touchscreen not working thread with no avail - I understand those methods are for the Yoga 13 but I was hoping I'd have some luck, and I haven't - does Lenovo have any response on this subject? It's quite disappointing to see so many unanswered issues on a brand whom I've always respected (but honestly never owned for personal use except for a tablet which I sold to get this)

I am having the same issue, I called in to Lenovo support, and they had me send it in. They replaced the LCD and they said the drivers werer corrupted on it, so they had to put a new image of Win 8 on it. When i got it back the touchscreen worked for about 10 min then stopped and I cannot get it to come back up. I have tried disable/enabling the driver in device manager, but nothing is working. I did all the updates for Win8 and put 8.1 on there, still no luck

I would like to ask, if there is a warrantee on the touchscreen too, and if not, how much does it cost to replace it?  Is it possible it could already be a broken model, cause i dont remember hitting it, and after a week a new broken part appeared and now the touchscreen is not even working at all. Just got a new Yoga 2 11 and generally happy with it, but: Problem One: The sound sometimes just fails for a while ... sound just stops, then starts again, then stops again. This happens both with the speakers and when using earbuds. This happens even when the computer is mostly idle (doing nothing but playing music, for instance). It happens with multiple software-sources for the sound (games, music player, etc).Problem Two: I let the computer do some installing and downloading with the lid closed, and when I opened the lid again, there was a spot on the touch-screen that was going a bit spastic ... constantly drawing tiny selection rectangles and showing that "ghost" that the screen gets when you touch it ... but nobody was touching it. When I tried to use a mouse, that same spot on the screen would "steal" the mouse-pointer and prevent me from doing things. The problem eventually faded, but while it was there I noticed that it corresponded exactly to the warmest spot on the keyboard (the flat area to the right of the touchpad), which had gotten noticeably warm while the computer had been working on the downloads and installs. The problem faded as the system cooled down, so it seems likely that excessive warmth managed to confuse the touch-screen (though I'm not sure how, since I assume it's capacitive and doesn't respond to heat).

I've recently bought a 510-14AST and configured it dual boot with Fedora (25) Linux. So its running a recent kernel. Everything works (sound, video - both with Xorg and wayland, network) apart fromthe touchscreenscreen rotationfirewireI can live without the screen rotation and firewire, but I would really like to get the touchscreen working. But I am unable to divine anything about the touchscreen which might lead me to some sort of resolution. There is a mystery USB device (amd 0438:7900) which might relate to the touchscreen - but I'm unable to find any further details on this. Under MSWindows, wacompen.sys appears in the drivers, but in Linux, the wacom and wacom_w8001 modules (v2.00) don't detect anything.

Hi, Got my Yoga on Sunday and have been delighted with it up to now with the exception of one thing - the touchscreen. Essentially it doesn't seem to like it when I drag on the screen with my finger, and quite often jumps wildly all over the place with its understanding of where I'm touching. I know that's not a terribly helpful description of the problem, so I drew this - it's my attempt to draw a spiraling pattern from centre outwards on Paint.net:  The odd thing is that the touchscreen works like a dream when I first turn the laptop on, and rebooting fixes the issue without fail - for all of 20 minutes to half an hour or so, when it starts with the problems again. The driver is up to date, as is Windows, I've calibrated it, I've made sure that the computer doesn't try to save power by turning it, or the "USB Input Devices" off (the latter being a suggestion I read from somebody), but none of this has helped. I'd really appreciate help on how to resolve this, as it is making an otherwise brilliant laptop unusable in 3 of the 4 positions! Thanks,Joe

I too have been having this problem. I bought my yoga 2 13" laptop about 2 months ago and the phantom touches started about a month later. At first I thought maybe the screen was picking up the fingerprints left on my screen or that there was a lag in response when i would touch the screen and nothing would happen but after reading other posts I can see this is a much bigger problem. When it starts I can'tget control of anything and have to wait for it to eventually stop and then restart my computer.  I found that this makes things subside for a while but then it starts all over again with no rhyme or reason. The most annoying part is that it closes my open tabs on the browser and sometimes opens others that are saved on my favorite bar. I'm worried that one day I'll be in the process of writing a paper for school and it deletes it before I get control of the screen.  Had I known this was such a common issue I would have never bought this laptop. Here I thought I was making my life a little easier being able to bring in my laptop to class and take up as little space as possible but looks like I will not have the option of using the touch screen if this is not easily resolved.

I have a similar problem with my Yoga 3 14 (I7). It works from a fresh boot, but if it goes to sleep, or sometimes sits for a while even w/o the screen blanking, the touch scrren doesn't respond to touches, but does have 'phantom' touches. Turning off and back on fixes. I got the laptop about a month ago. This seems to be a driver issue to me.

I own a Thinkpad X1 Yoga (1st Gen) (model 20FQCTO1WW). Despite that I have owned it for 18 months, I have a stupid question:  Is the plastic film that overlays the touchscreen just something protective that can / should be removed? Or - since this is a touchscreen - is it integral to the operation of the display (so peeling it off would damage the display)?  On mine it is trimmed right to the black plastic bezel with greater precision than any temp / throw-away protective film that I have ever seen before, wihch makes me think that maybe it's supposed to be permanant. However, mine is also slowing turning milky / opaque. If I don't need it, I'd like to remove it. But, of course, I don't want to damage my $2k computer. I've trie to research this, but can't find anything on it.

Answer:X1 Yoga (1st Gen) - Plastic Film On Touchscreen

The film is for temporary protection,, but keeping it doesn't hurt anything as long as the screen has enough sensitivity.

Answer:Yoga 3 11, touchscreen keyboard disappears

Is your main keyboard disabled?
Which mode are you using the on-screen keyboard in?
Which page/screen are you trying to type on? Have you tried different places/text boxes?

Can you click on the Keyboard icon on the bottom right side of the screen and see if it comes up?

I have attached a photo below I'd be very grateful if anyone canplease tell me a) What is the right order of these wires (the four that are loose are white, red, orange and black) and is it possible to attach them with something - they are too minute too be soldered, so I don't know what to do.b) If the above is not possible, is it possible to buy this connector cable alone? If so where? I would very deeply appreciate some suggestions/help.Thank you,Lakshmi

There are parts of the screen (near the center, a bit to the left) not reacting to my fingers. For example, on desktop, when I touch a spot for like 5 secs and remove, it'll act like right click and a menu comes up.But near that specific spot, it doesn't react at all or react partially (as if I'm touching that part repeatlessly, it'll act like drag if I move but doesn't wor as right lclick no matter long i leave my finger there) or worst the circle for where my finger is supposed to be is like 2 cm lower. Software problem?Or need repair?   Edit: Nevermind, googled around and someone suggested restarting and it seems to work.Good thing it's not permanent, should have done it earlier.

You can see in the following gif how the screen goes to black (video driver problem?) and then when it comes back Windows is in the lock screen.  Any idea what may be causing this? Software or hardware?

Hi, i have the issue that all Windows 8.1 Gestures work perfectly fine with the Touchpad but most do not work with the Touchscreen.Pinch to zoom, one finger click or selection, or longer one finger click for a right click drop down menu work just fine.Especially in tablet mode it is anoying to have to grab the pen to use it swiping in from the right screen side to open the charms bar and not being able to use my finger.  I am guessing its just a settings problem wich is kind of tricky to find - or i am blind to finding it - because except theses gestures the touchscreen works fine and accurate as it should. Thank You for any help you guys can give me!  PS.: Machine is a Thinkpad Yoga EDIT: Ok i just found out that in Reading Mode when the camera is on the right side all gestures work perfect - the other 3 positions the problem is still remaining

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga gestures on Touchscreen

I was having a similar issue on mine. Recalibrating the touch screen fixed it. A lot of people are having issues with this on Windows 7 devices that came with touch screens when the very edge of the touch screen is not able to be touched. I'm guessing that Windows 8 requires that the touch start at the very edge (or beyond the edge) of the screen for the gesture to be detected. When the display is mis-calibrated, when you touch the edge of the screen, it registers as just inside the edge and is detected as a click instead. Since the calibration does not change with device rotation, I'd be that your vertical calibration is ok (since it works in reading mode), but that your horizontal calibration is a bit off. if you search for "Calibration" in the control panel, the "Tablet PC Settings" contains the menu for recalibrating the touch (and pen if you have one) inputs

I need to disable the touchsreen on my Yoga 260. I have tried disabling and uninstalling the 'HID Compliant touchsreen' in device manager however it always reinstalls itself within a few hours. How can I disable the touchscreen so that it cant just turn itself back on?

Has anyone experienced this or heard of a remedy? My Yoga 2 Pro's touchscreen will occasionally stop working, and the transition usually goes with it (meaning that when I rotate the device, the screen doesn't rotate to match). The bug is always fixed when I restart my laptop, and it only occurs after the laptop has been running for a while and I've closed the lid then reopened it. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

So I recently bought a refurbished Yoga 3 Pro. I don't have any real warranty and I would rather not return it just for the touchscreen, as I don't plan to use it often. However, I'd like to try to fix it if I can. I powered on the laptop and opened it to the pre-installed Windows 8.1. I went through the setup, and everything worked great except for the touchscreen, which does not respond at all and acts like a normal, non-touch display. I suspected it to be a driver issue, but as I already intended to use Ubuntu on this machine and I often have to reinstall drivers for Linux anyway, I decided to ignore it for the time being. Now that I have Ubuntu installed, I'm back to trying to figure out the touchscreen issue. I haven't been able to find where the touchscreen output is located, but I'd like to try installing the drivers and see if I can get it working anyway. If anyone has better advice, please let me know. Otherwise, I need to know: does the touchscreen interface through a serial port, and if so is there a specific one it defaults to? Thanks!

I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

Today, my keyboard and touchscreen stopped working. However, when I switch to tablet mode, the touchscreen works and tablet mode functions just fine.
