Preferred Solution: Stylus still works but finger touch does not after...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Stylus still works but finger touch does not after...

Yoga thinkpad 20cd. I have the original stylus that came with the lap top as well as an aftermarket LIfebook stylus. The screen doesn't register either stylus. When i go to the windows pen calibration the stylus works fine. The calibration consists of tapping targets with the stylus pen. It is very accurate. Soon as i close the calibration window the stylus doesn't interact with the screen at all. I assume I must have changed some setting by accident or it occurred with an update. The stylus use to work a few months ago. I have tried messing with my display settings to remove the adaptive brightness at one point and may have selected a wrong setting. Thank you for any help provided.

Hello. I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 from work and we use it to get customer signiture on a web browser page for the company I work for. however lately. when a customer is trying to sign in the signniture box, it just move the whole screen around in a similar way to moving the screen with your finger. the only way it writes is when you hold the stylus down for a scond or two and then write without lifting it. but every time it leaves the screen then the same problem happens again. I tried to fix it from the touch screen settings but nothing seems to work. and advice on fixing this is greatly appreciated.

Hi, March of  last year (2016) I bought the Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 700 24" mainly because the clerk at BestBuy told me I could draw right on the screen with a stylus and that was not just on Sketchbook Pro 7 (bundled in) but with any drawing program. I called Lenovo at that time, they said the same thing.  I put it away as I had projects to complete and now have it set up, bought a Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition, which is great, but that stylus doesn't work on Sketchbook, or anywhere on the screen. Neither does my old little Bamboo Tablet's stylus. Wacom says, Oh, sorry, try another maybe. Lenovo said, only Wacom, then they realized my warranty or whatever had expired two weeks ago and wouldn't continue the conversation, stating if I were to purchase a new year, they could talk to me further, otherwise no. Nothing works and I cannot find any info....so here I am.Is there the functionality of drawing on my screen with a stylus of any kind at all? I know many are available but Wacom's are not compatible, and though I love my desktop, every reason I got it and the new $549.  Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition (great product) and all I actually wish to do is draw with a stylus on this screen. No info online, maybe there's an expert here!

I need to know if there is a stylus I can use which looks and feels quite like a pen, I don't like the compressible rubbery feel of some stylus, they are not smooth enough.

Answer:Which stylus should I use with my Inspiron 15r touch laptop? Will a 'Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel' work with it?

Hi Shaurya,Welcome to Dell community.
Yes you can use stylus pen with this system.
15z has 15.6" LED-Backlit LCD Capacitive Multi-touch screen, so you can use Targus Stylus with this system which Dell recommends. For further help you can click on the below mentioned link:
http://bit.ly/VoK4ml
The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel is the newest stylus from Wacom that a user in that forum said works well. The site, http://bit.ly/WSqVAQ  , says it's compatible with the Latitude 10. Technically, any of the non-battery (somehow powered wirelessly by the tablet) powered Wacom stylus should work.
Please reply me if you need any further help.

Hello All - I just noticed that my multi-touch (not enhanced multi-touch) screen no longer responds to finger touch; just pen. It used to respond to both before i upgraded to Windows 7.I tried the Lenovo diagnostic check for the touch screen, and during the test, it only responded to the pen. What should I do? Is there a certain driver i'm missing or need to uninstall and then re-install?Thanks in advance.

Answer:Post Windows 7 Upgrade - Touch Panel Not Responding to Finger Touch (x200t)

Ok...I think i really screwed something up. As per a Lenovo support tech's advice, i installed the Windows 7 "Enhanced" Multi-touch Driver, even though i do not have the enhanced multi-touch screen, and this is what it says on Lenovo's site about this new driver: "*1: ThinkPad X200 Tablet models with the Multitouch are NOT supported." "*1: ThinkPad X200 Tablet models with the ENHANCED Multitouch ARE supported." So, i go ahead and install it. I notice that finger touch now works, but the pen setting are now all screwed up! The eraser no longer responds when i turn the pen around to erase. It actually INKS with the eraser as well! OneNote no longer automatically starts inking (or erasing) when i bring the pen (or eraser) into range. I have to manually click on the pen icon (or the eraser icon) on the tool bar to use these functionalities! *groan* In the Tablet PC Input Panel: no eraser functionality (it inks instead!!) and even the button on the pen (which previously had the right-click ability) only inks when pressed down! I think i made my situation worse...Please Help! Adam

I have ThinkPad X230 Tablet. It used to have non-functioning touch screen. I did something, and now the screen responds to pen input, but it doesn't work properly for finger touch. When I touch with finger, only thing it does is minimize or maximize window. When I change position of taskbar (with start menu and icons), it doesn't maximize/minimize.  I think this means that when I touch with finger, cursor clicks at bottom right corner of display, where there is button for maximize/minimize window

I was wondering if I can use a stylus instead of my finger on my laptop. I have an E1-532P, which is a touchscreen.

Answer:Using stylus instead of finger?

Yes, you should be able to use a capacitive stylus instead of your finger for touch input.

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Portege z10t.

I am trying to use the stylus in Photoshop. I have 2 problems. Firstly - when i use the stylus the circle that indicates where the stylus is going to be used is below the point of the stylus. Not only is it causing incorrect actions, but i can't see it properly to guide it. Is there a way to re-calibrate? I have tried re-calibrating from the control panel.

Secondly, in Photoshop, I can use my finger to select items in the menus and tools, but not to draw or select anything on the page. I have the same problem with any other stylus I use (I want to use a finer tipped one, but would be happy to use the one with the laptop if it was calibrated correctly.)

Can anyone help me?

Thanks
Bryonie

I am using windows journal a having problems that I can not turn off finger input when writing with a pen. The screen becomes insensitive to a finger when I am about an inch away from the screen with the pen, but this is not enough to avoid accidental dots and lines with your finger. Can one either configure the pen distance from the screen from which on finger touch is disabled? Or can one disable finger touch altogether? I have been following some discussions on forums providing some workarounds, but maybe there is a simpler solution around?138

Question: Y50 touch stylus??

Does anyone know which, if any, stylus pens work with the y50 touch other than the cheap rubber capacitive ones? I don't want to buy one online only to find out it doesn't work, but I cant find any threads that help.

Answer:Y50 touch stylus??

I've been wondering the same thing. I have noticed, however that if you go to Control Panel> Hardware and Sound you will see Pen and Touch settings. There is also a section on the touch keyboard where it allows you to write what you want, then it converts it to text. Could you answer this question Lenovo?

I am in an IT department at a small clinic in Idaho.  We have several X220's and X230's here.   There are several machines that have issues with the touch screen just stopping.  Nothing with the pen/finger will work.  The mouse still works, but nothing with the pen. We created a script that restarts the TabletInputService, the docs would run this script when the pen stops working.  That script works a majority of the time, but not always.  One of our docs just received a brand new X230 Type 3435-2TU 2 weeks ago.  She pen has stopped working several times in that two weeks.  She said that script only works a few times.  She has to reboot for it to work again....so rebooting works.  We can't have docs rebooting 3-4 times a day. Does anyone know of a permanent fix for this? Please help!!Desperate IT Guy!!

Hi, I have been baffled by this issue for quite a while now. I have a lenovo X220 tablet that supports both finger and pen inputs for touch. Originally this laptop came with windows 7 and everything was fine and dandy. I then bought windows 8/8.1 Pro 64-bit and did a clean installation of it. Now I only have pen support for the touchscreen, i.e. my finger is recognized as a pen/mouse not a finger which is really frustrating specially when scrolling. Now before I actually purchased the win8 license I had tried out the windows 8 release preview and everything worked perfectly then. So now when I got the actual release of the OS its not. Furthermore I currently have a dual-boot set up with windows 10 technical preview as my other OS and in there it also works perfectly fine as it should. This is important because when I contacted lenovo about the issue they suggested that my screen was broken, but clearly it is not.  Can anyone shed some light on this issue? It is a real shame not to be able to take advantage of this fine screen and windows 8 touch friendlyness.  Kind regards.

Answer:X220 Tablet pen support only no touch with finger

I hope I'm not making a mistake, I have a 6364-BV2, I assume it's multitouch (as long as the pen works, should finger touch work as well?) and I'm not able to use my fingers to touch anything on the screen. It's the low-rez version... I tried installing the multitouch driver but for nothing... I have xp tablet edition... Is it possible that my tablet doesn't actually have multitouch (finger touch capability) and only the pen is supposed to work? Thanks

Answer:x60 multitouch issue: finger touch won't work

Not all screen are multitouch capable, the pen have a special proximty device that the sensors on a layer on top of the screen picks up, unless the screen also has an additional sensor sheet for your finger, it would not work with your finger... There are two types of screen option one is Multitouch and Non-multitouch in the XGA format, and SXGA format is definitely non multi-touch.

Hello everybody, this is my first post on this forum, from my first lenovo PC, so I'm truly a newbie. Just picked up my brand new x220t from a local reseller, and tried to configure it to fit my needs. During the process I realized I'm not able to configure the touchscreen nor use it. The digi-pen works fine though. 1. I've checked under Control Panel | Pen & Touch Devices. This window should have 4 tabs (the last on the right should read Touch), but it ain't there as if some functionality was missing. 2. I also tried to turn the touch screen on/off via Simple Tap. It does inform me that I'm about to switch the touch screen off (and as a matter of fact I'm not able to use it wth my fingers) but when I turn it on again the touchscreen still doesn't react to my fingers. 3. I've downloaded all the win7 as well as lenovo updates via the update managers, installed them and did a complete restart of the system - still no touchscreen. 4. Under device Manager I tried to find Wacom  devices, but couldn't find any. (the touch screen is a Wacom, am I correct?) 5. In despair I even started reading the pdf manual where one can read:  "Some models have the touch panel feature". This left me a little bit uneasy. Do ALL x220 convertible tablets have finger sensitive touchscreens? I have read the sticky thread about conventional vs. multitouch lenovo tablets, and I gather that the answer should be yes - all have finger input besides digi-pen. ... Read more

Answer:x220t - NYK27PB - no finger touch input

The models with the outdoor screen (the one that has a reinforced gorilla glass surface) don't have multi-touch, only pen support. If your model doesn't have the outdoor screen then it should have multi-touch support, if that is the case perhaps you should contact tech support? It's possible that it's just a hardware problem and needs replacing.  Also, the pen digitiser uses Wacom technology, as far as I'm aware the multi-touch system doesn't.

Answer:X201T 2985-F4U -- Both finger touch and pen not working on screen

Hi and welcome to the forum!

The tabook says your model has multitouch (i.e. both pen and finger touch). Is this a new system you bought? If so, did you buy directly from lenovo? Did the touch ever work?

Try to install the following driver:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-74908

If the driver installation doesn't help, subsequently try Windows Update, look particularly for Touch Input driver, if even that doesn't take you anywhere, then give factory restore a go (after backing up your data), to do so, press ThinkVantage button on boot to access Rescue and Recovery, and choose restore to factory contents in the following wizard. Note that factory restore is only available on lenovo preloaded OS.

My finger print reader failed and a Lenovo support tech installed a new replacement. Now my PC won't start from the finger print reader although it works fine after I hit the start button.  I have had a few calls with the telephone service people and no one is able to address this problem.

Answer:Can't start X1 Carbon touch from finger print reader

Hi Lebouitz,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m really sorry to hear that you are not able to start your Lenovo X1 carbon Touch using the fingerprint reader.

I would suggest you to try the following steps.

To enable power-on passwords replacement:

Login as administrator.
Start Fingerprint Software.
Click Settings.
Click Authentication.
Check Always show power-on Security Option if power-on passwords are not set.
Check Use fingerprint scan instead of power-on and hard drive passwords.
Check enable single sign-on capability if you want to boot from power-on to windows without further fingerprint swipe or passwords.

Spoiler (Highlight to read)

To enable power-on replacement for fingerprint swipe:

Start Fingerprint Software.
Authenticate with password or enrolled fingerprint.
Click the Power-on slot on the top of the enrolled fingerprint.
Close Fingerprint settings and shutdown system.
On the first reboot you will be asked for your password and fingerprints. The second time you reboot it will only require your fingerprint.

I have an x201 tablet and often use the pen with One Note. With Windows 10, it is impossible to lift the pen the slightest bit off the tablet without reactivating finger sensitivity. The result is that I get a bunch of scribbles from my hand touching the screen, and also inadvertantly hit other tabs etc while trying to write.Any suggestions?

NOT HAPPY.    And I'm afraid you won't be either. No you don't have ENHANCED MultiTouchAs a matter of fact, you don't even have MultiTouch. Much to my dismay, this part number is for a DIGITIZER-ONLY screen. ARGH!!!!   I talked to sales endlessly to get this right when I ordered ... and they STILL send me the wrong one.  It's like they do it on purpose ;-) .... Hi all,
I'm currently operating with a Dell Latitude (E6410) running Windows 7 32-bit. I have the default Alps touchpad built-in, and was recently ecstatic to find the driver for multi-touch on the Dell Support page, something I figured I'd never get privileged to since this doesn't have a Synaptics touchpad.
Everything works as it;s supposed to, as far as the options go under the Dell Pointing Devices menu. However, I noticed that two-finger options are missing, specifically a two-finger right click. This is odd, seeing as there are plenty of other two-finger options, and since two-finger right click has become a standard with multi-touch touchpads.
So my question is, is there anything I can do to get two-finger right click? I don't see any options officially provided by Dell, so I'm totally okay with installing software or drivers from somewhere else, as long as they work. I haven't been able to find anything myself, as it seems every driver and software in the world is developed with Synaptics in mind.

Answer:Two-Finger Right Click with Dell Multi-touch Touchpad?

I have the exact same question. I see that this was posted 3 years ago without a solution / reply :(

Hi I finally decided to upgrade my 4 year old Ideapad Y550 and I am quite happy with my U310 so far. One thing I would like to change though, I've gotten used to one-finger scrolling using my Y550 and I would like to have that back. Is there any way in the U310 to chage to one-finger scrolling from two-finger scrolling? Thanks!

Answer:Ideapad U310 Touch single finger scrolling

This is based on the Elan touchpad. Do you think the one finger scrolling is similar to the edge swipe? Maybe its not enable. Two or more finger scrolling is under multifinger configuration menu. But there is no scrolling option in One finger menu but only the edge swipe option.

Is xps 13 9350 with touch screen laptop supporting stylus pen?

Answer:Using Stylus Pen with XPS 13 9350 Touch Screen

Since you can't check the compatible devices and get any reasonable answer, all I can tell you is the XPS 13 9365 2-in-1 is compatible.  Maybe you could compare it to the 9350 or possibly look at the compatible devices if you were going to purchase it.
You need a special screen but I can't remember the term for that, maybe digitized.

Hello,

we are interested for a touch screen laptop, but this is more for my wife who is a teacher.
She likes the way our Samsung Note handles the S-pen and she would want to use a simialr pen with the laptop at classes.

Is there such a facility for pens with sharp edges to be used with a Flex for example?
Or we should jsut get those black, rubber, thick capacitive pens?

thanks

Answer:Flex - touch screen Pen/Stylus?

Here is a pen great for writing: http://www.adonit.net/jot/pro/Just search for 'best capacitive stylus' on Google. Pick the one you like mostAre you interested in the ThinkPad 10 perhaps? It has a digitizer pen, it will also disable touch input while the pen is being used. Which is quite useful. It is a small step up to 700 EUR. Also get the keyboard dock.http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/thinkpad/thinkpad-10/I can say with 100% certainty your wife will love it. I got its more expensive brother the ThinkPad Helix. If a student can love it, so can the teacher right ;-) ?The ThinkPad 10 has many flexible options she might be interested in. You won't find anything better for that price.

Hey all,
I am looking for a decent stylus to use with my Dell all-in-one PC. It is a touch screen and so, I am after a stylus to mainly use for annotating / writing / note taking (one note etc). I have a cheap one with the round rubber end, but it tugs against the screen and doesn't write very well due to lots of friction.
I have found a few products, but I do not know whether they would be compatible:
- Wacom Bamboo stylus solo
- Wacom Bamboo stylus feel
If there is any others you would recommend please do let me know! Much appreciated.
Thanks

Answer:What is a decent stylus for a Dell All-in-one touch PC?

The question here is whether the PC has the hardware to properly use finer and fancier styli.
Most likely not, especially if its a desktop, so the most in that case would be using that rubber ball tip thing you have.
However, fancier versions of that will work. (as long as the touchscreen is capacitive as it likely is) The Bamboo Stylus Solo will work.
But an actual stylus like the Feel will most likely not.
What is your specific PC?

Answer:Can I use a different stylus for my computer's touch screen?

No, if you want then original performance, you have to buy a stylus made for that device. A pair of replacements for that particular model goes for about $50 if you shop around. What I  m men to say is that nit does not have to be the exact original, but one designed and sold as a replacement for models in that group. The stylus is not just a pointed stick., It has seamail properties that make it work well will certain models of touch screen. But there are those who claim  that you can make your won anyway.Turn a Cheap Pen into a Touchscreen StylusWatch the video and tell me if you believe it.

I don't think that could work since there needs to be accuracy. Having a sensor at the top will not be able to gauge depth or accurate distance

Well I would say that the most empiric way to do it is just try to touch your screen on some dialog boxes or pictures where gestures would trigger a reaction from the computer..... Indeed it's not very easy to figure it out from Lenovo support website ... Just 2 days ago, a Lenovo staff on chat said that the X220 Tablet with Outdoor Display supports touch inputs but only for single finger actions.  He was very sure but then several posts on this forum seem to indicate that it has only the pen input. Can someone please confirm? 2. If the Outdoor model supports single finger input, is the display capacitive touch? 3. I'm befuddled. Two finger scrolling in Windows 10 dialogs, applications and Internet Explorer/Edge all works perfectly. However, Chrome is far too sensitive and the page blazes past. I can't adjust the scroll speed in settings because that affects all other apps (in other words they'll become way too slow!) Just to make matters more confused I've also got a Logitech mouse and the scroll wheel works fine everywhere - and this means if I install an extension in Chrome to configure scroll speed to work with the touchpad I will have slowed it down to a painful rate using the scroll wheel. Any clues how to configure Chrome two finger scrolling correctly? Is this an issue with the trackpad or Chrome?

My 7840's touch pad "One Finger Scrolling" functionality has become inconsistent.  It had been working fine by using the 'DellTPad.exe' application and selecting (if memory serves) 'one finger gestures'.  That option is now gone however one finger scrolling still works for awhile, and then fails and the only option to scroll using two fingers. A reboot fixes it for awhile then it starts all over again.  This problem coincided with a recent round of updates, though the touch-pad driver was not one of those updates.
Any ideas out there?

I recently purchased a Windows 10 Tablet and a Universal Tablet Pen which was sold separately. The pen works with the tablet, however it is terrible if you try to use the pen to write. I suspect there is some issue with the calibration. So my question is, What is the correct procedure to calibrate a pen to the touch screen? I know you go to Control Panel > Tablet PC Settings > Calibrate. However, I attempted this several times and I almost messed up my tablet. At one point I could barely sign in because the calibration was way out of alignment. I could barely press any keys using touch because the calibration was off by several inches. For example if I tried to tap any icon, the input response indictator would show up on another part of the screen far from where I pressed. Luckily, none of this affected the mouse so I was able to log back in and reset the calibration settings to the original default. If someone can please post some instructions or find a youtube video on this, that would be great. Thanks

But I have some major concerns whether it will be able to do what I want.  Im looking for a laptop that can handle rendering large 2D & 3D graphic files. Also as important is the ability to be used as a drawing tablet.  I've searched and searched online but can't find a difinitive answer on whether or not this can be used with a stylus as a drawing tablet. Not just note taking either, I need a fine tipped stylus for precise control. I've heard talk of digitizers and as a tech-novice I have no idea what that means for this laptop. Any help or suggestions of comparible laptops would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:lenovo x201 tablet 3113-94U support multi touch??(pen & finger)

Hi, btoymus23

I did some research on your machine and found its entry in the Personal Systems Reference. Machine type 3113-94U does not support MultiTouch, unfortunately. This information can be found in the link on page CML3-4 (use Ctrl+F to find it faster.)

MultiTouch, however, means to be able to use three distinct points on a touchscreen at once, not being able to use different touch inputs. I think you should be able to use your fingers to touch objects on the screen, though the pen might be easier.

Hope it helps,
Adam

Note taking with my new Helix is unbelievably frustrating! It's Windows 8 Pro -- fully updated (Windows and Lenovo drivers and apps). I am using Microsoft OneNote 2013. The problem is regular locking up or freezing of one or the other of the touch screen or the pen / stylus. Sometimes the pen still works, but fingers on the touch screen have no effect. Other times the the touch screen works, but not the pen. I'm not 100% certain that it's limited just to OneNote, but that's where it's guaranteed to happen. I can "fix" the problem most of the time by putting the Helix into sleep mode and then waking. Other times I have to shut down and restart. During a two hour session this will happen a dozen times at least. This makes it nearly unusable. Rob

Answer:Touch screen and pen/stylus stop working - Helix

I experience almost the same problem. It seems that when I use OneNote with the stylus, the touch input stops working. I know that it is supposed to be disabled while using the stylus on/near the screen. What happens is that if I for instance use the stylus, switch to the windows 8 tile screen and try to use my finger nothing happens. If I touch an icon with the stylus it works, and then I can use my fingers - for a little while. Then it stops working again, and I need to use the stylus to reactivate touch input. And so on and so on. I tried to do what bloggs stated could work - to put the device in sleep mode and restart. This resulted in the windows 8-version of the bluescreen...

For those of you interested, I got my Dagi stylus today ordered via ebay for $12 shipped. It looks very nice, feels good in the hand and is lightweight.  The tip is thin and flexible and looks a bit fragile, but seems to be glued on pretty strong. I tested this with regular touch points, drawing and writing.  It worked great for each.  The dot in the center of the tip makes for a very accurate touch point.  I calibrated the system using it and it was a little tough because some of the points are on the VERY edge of the screen.  The 2s10-3t has a gap between the screen plastic and the actual screen and the stylus actually slides underneath to hit the points.  After calibration, this isn't an issue. So, it is way more accurate than the pogo and also less of a risk to scratch the screen.  It flows well so I can use cursive and fine for printing also.  I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a stylus solution...it is so far the best I've seen.  This thing also works on the iPhone for those wanting dual-purpose.  I'll try to post a video of performance soon. Dave

Hi All, I recently purchased Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 and am hoping to use this laptop for online trainings. I use an interactive classroom software for drawing diagrams, etc. Currently I use my finger for drawing, however, I would like to use a stylus. There is no official stylus for this model and I've already purchased two styli that did not work (Belkin and Wiacom bamoo). Strangely, the same styli work flawlessly on tabs and smartphones. Does the screen of of Lenovo Flex use some different kind of capacitative touch technology? If yes, could you suggest which stylus would work smoothly with this model? Thank you!

Answer:Flex 14: Looking for a stylus that works with this model

As far as I've tested, the Flex 15 is a standard capacitive 10-finger display. There's no reason a run-of-the-mill $10 capacitive stylus wouldn't work.

Capacitive touch uses liquid (in our case, water in our hands) to detect touch. The round bottomed rubbery styluses should work fine.

Can't find any reference to a key or switch to enable/disable finger input on touchscreen in pdf manual or google.

Does anyone know how to re enable the finger input for the touch screen on a toshiba portege tablet M930?

Hello,
I have also had ongoing issues with my HP sylus.  I have a Spectre X2, the stylus has never works satisfactorily. I have tried to run all of the BIOS and touch screen firmware updates but they both failed to run. I have also replaced the battery on the stylus but it is still terrible to use.

I was hoping that the recent update to Windows 10 would make a difference but it hasn't.

The ability to use a stylus was the main reason I purchased the spectre x2 but I have been deeply disappointed with it and am now considering writing the cost of this spectre x2 off and getting a competitor device.

Please advise how I go about getting this resolved.

i'm planning to buy a windows tablet, but surface pro 3 is way too expensive than what i've planned to spend.
all the stylus makers provide their own note taking softwares/apps.
Ques. 1: do we have a stylus in the market which works perfectly with the OneNote and other apps, even if we're not using Surface Pro 3?
Ques. 2: Or will the N-trig stylus (made for surface pro 3) work with other tablets (e.g. Dell venue 8 pro or Lenovo Yoga2) as well?

Answer:Which stylus works with the OneNote, that is not running on Surface Pro 3?

Contact technical support of your laptop brand to know which active stylus would work.

Within the past week, I've noticed that my Dell Stylus has had very intermittent operation.  I'll place the tip very near or on my touch screen and there is no 'dot' in that location; this indicates that the stylus is not working reliably.  I replaced the AAAA battery with a new battery (confirmed the new AAAA battery is good with a 1.59 Volt charge), yet the issue continues.  The laptop's touch screen has no issues when the stylus stops working and I have to keep using the touch screen when the stylus stops working.  I even unscrew and rescrew the cap (where the battery is located...  thinking this will turn the stylus OFF and back ON) to no avail.  The pen worked fine with no issues up to this point.  There were no issues after I upgraded from WIN8.1 to WIN10 almost 4 weeks ago. Is there a Dell Stylus or HP screen driver that I need to update/re-install?  Any ideas how to fix this issue as I need to use the stylus most of the time I am using the laptop while out in the field working.  Please advise.  I looked under Device Manager and don't see a stylus option under 'Mice and Pointing Devices' for example so I don't even know where to look for the driver to try to update it. Thanks.

Hello everyone,I've been trying to use the Adonit Jot Pro stylus with my Yoga2 Pro, but I'm having very poor results. Most of the time when I try to draw, the Yoga recognizes it as if I'm trying to move around the screen and it doesn't draw at all. From time to time a little is jotted down. Is there any fix for that? Perhaps some setting I can change for the screen sensitivity or anything?I've been trying to use MS Paint and SmoothDraw. Plus, is there a way to use the stylus as a mouse, meaning the Yoga will show the cursor when I move the stylus around? In Khan Academy videos that seems to be the case. Thanks in advance!Omer

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite Click 10 tablet which runs Windows 10 home. I am looking to purchase a fine point stylus with USB charging capability (similar to this one Amazon.com: Stylus Pen, BoxWave« [AccuPoint Active Stylus] Electronic Stylus with Ultra Fine Tip for Smartphones and Tablets - Jet Black: Electronics).

I don't need pressure sensitivity, it is for making very simple diagrams and highlighting text in some applications. It is an item I envisage using maybe once or twice a week. I don't want one that has a plastic disk on the end.

I noticed quite a few have a battery that only last 12 hours so looking for something which is rechargeable.

My budget is "as little as possible" but could realistically extend to the ~US$50 mark.

Does anyone have experience with a stylus that they can recommend?

Any thoughts/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, Since I upgraded my x200t to Windows 8 Pro, installed the lastest Wacom drivers, I have a strange behavor with the stylus. The stylus drawing works perfectly within photoshop, even pressur is detected, but for Paint and OneNote ... its another story ... While I can draw those blue squars on the Desktop (press&move to make a selection) I can't draw a line neither in Paint, nor in OneNote, and not even the "Ink To Math" window. I have a hard time understanding why in the microsoft's softwares it does not work ... Do you have an idea? Did you face the same issue ? Thanks in advance, Raztou3D

Model number is 20DM, but sadly it's not pen enabled. So, i decided to try a normal capacitive stylus, and to my disappointment whenever i tried to draw a straight line, it jumped and drew a dotted line. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm hoping this might turn into a recommendation thread, as there just isn't much info about this out on the webs. This is mainly in regard to performance when highlighting, drawing, or dragging the stylus across the screen. My experience is, while the bulk stylus packs that are available on places like Amazon work great for most people's Apple and Android tablets, general consensus is that they are horrible on Windows tablets. I've tried several, even a Bamboo stylus, but they all skip or jump when you try to highlight or drag, making them useless. This is on a Surface RT, Dell Venue 8 Pro, and Winbook TW800.
Anyway, I've done tons of research, but can't seem to find any that work well but are at a decent price. Has anyone found a cheap stylus that works well for highlighting, etc?

Answer:What Passive Stylus Works Well with Cheap Windows Tablets?

Well, I did a quick search for the Winbook and I think it does not support Wacom.
The Dell Venue does support Wacom or at least Dell sells a Wacom like stylus for it. For that
device I recommend you buying the stylus specially designed for that tablet.
I know the Surface does not support Wacom. So, for the first and third tablet, any passive
stylus will do. Hate to say it..they are pretty much all the same and all work the same. And,
they are all pretty much lousy. This is why Wacom supported tablets are what people want
although very few tablets actually support it.
Not to mention is generally increased the selling price of the tablet. I just sold a 5 year old 12.1 inch tablet
with Windows 8.1 on it (that I installed) for $300.00 on Ebay because it supported Wacom
