BIOS update on Yoga 500-15IBD

Question: BIOS update on Yoga 500-15IBD

HelloI want to update the BIOS of my Yoga 500-15IBD and downloaded the latest version from Lenovo support site.Last BIOS version comes with a txt file where I can read:Support models S41-70, U41-70, Flex 3-1570, Yoga 500-15IBD, Yoga 500-15IHW, Flex 3-1470, Yoga 500-14IBD, Yoga 500-14IHWBut when I execute the exe file (bdcn60ww.exe), I get:I am a bit confused... Is this BIOS really for my Yoga 500-15IBD? Is there any risk if I try to install it anyway?Thank you

Preferred Solution: BIOS update on Yoga 500-15IBD

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Yoga 500 - 15IBD - Bios update went wrong

What you can see there is a Boot menu. Your laptop can't boot from disk and display boot selection menu. Try to enter BIOS (can't say how to do it, as you didn't told which Yoga model do you have) and try to change boot settings from UEFI -> Legacy (or in other way) and/or disable Secure Boot. Check if after these changes your laptop will be able to boot.

I'm a new owner of a Flex 4-1570 Ideapad. I have a critical update awaiting install, however the window popup says it is for the YOGA not the Flex. Thus, I have not installed it. My question is, should I install it? If not, how do I turn the notification off? Thanks!

I recently bouht refirbished Yoga 500-15IBD, It has Intel HD 5500 and GeForce 940M. When I bought the laptop online I was under the impresion that the display is FHD. Unfortunatly the maximum resolution that I see in the Windwos 10 display settings is 1366x768. Is this a software issue or the display is not FHD? I am wondering if it is possible that seller changed the original FHD display with HD display. I can't find the full spec of the laptop. Machine Type Model: 80N600FWUK.

I bought the yoga 500-15IBD(w/i5 5200U;GT 940m and 8G of RAM) in summer of 2015. At first the notebook is doing fine. But at mid-late 2016 the notebook start acting strange, the CPU start lock the frequency at 0.44 Ghz while charging. I find out that the BD prochot is the reason and I disable it with throttlestop. Then when I start gaming for few minutes the laptop just shut down, because of overheating. So I try playing game with BD prochot on and with battery. And the gameplay become very laggy. Not like low fps, but just very laggy. I monitored the CPU and the CPU just get throttled massively frequently and the frequency just go up and down. Which never happen before, the laptop used to be at least playable with consistent (low) fps.  What should I do. Is some component damaged? Should I clean the fan (I checked the fan and it seems fine to me)? Should I charge the thermal paste?  ps I try to stress test both CPU and GPU, it's fine when doing test alone. But when testing both CPU and GPU the temp of CPU just go sky high (~100 C) and the GPU seems to be cool in terms of temperature(75 C)and than the laptop shut down. Even when testing GPU only while CPU is idle both temp got ~75 C. When doing only CPU test CPU temp ~88 C max and GPU stay at ~55 C. It seems the GPU is transfering heats to the CPU.

Answer:LENOVO Yoga 500-15IBD

Hi mariuszwol5, Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums. Based on what I've found out, seems like both models has same specs as you have mentioned. If I'm not mistaken, the difference here is that, the 80N60084PB has this FRU : 18201638, whereas, the 80N6006FPB does not. FRU : 18201638Description : LGD LP156WF4-SPL1 FHD AG S LED1 NB LCDCommodity Code :  LCD PANELS Also checking on the price of the part itself, based on ebay, it is around USD $99.00. Which as per google, 400 PLN = 98.21 USD.  Hope this helps!

Hi, I've tried looking for tech specs (I know the hardware specs) for the monitor so I can work out what pen/stylus would be best for the touch screen. However, I can not find this particular product (spec specific) on the website.  If anyone could help me out that would be great, Ideally I'd like something with pressure levels as I do digitally draw from time to time, and would be helpful whilst writing. But would settle for something that isn't due to owning a GFX tablet anyway. Also, I'm unsure if this ideapad is referred to as a 15, 500 or 8 due to not know where this terminology is based from (model name, model series ect) seems unclear, perhaps I'm just looking into it too much and it is just a 500. Thanks to anyone that spends time reading, and thanks in advance for advice. ~Kris

I bought a new Yoga 500 15IBD 2 Months ago and since a view weeks the Laptop had several power breakdowns while in battery mode. All of a sudden the Laptop turns black, all lights and the hdd turns off and I have to connect the power cord to get it started again - although the Battery certainly isn't empty according to the OS-Battery indicators AND often having the Laptop fully charged less than half an hour ago. (The Yoga runs for at least 3 hours if the bug does not appear). Now this is no driver issue, I have the problem while running Windows 10, Linux Mint and Backbox Linux. I suppose it's either a battery issue or a faulty architectual design. Since  I see a lot of similar power-off related messages accross the spectrum of lenovo devices, could someone finally publically explain the source of the problem so there is a chance to get rid of it ... especially in future products?

Hi, I got a problem with my laptop. The fan is making loud noise everytime I open a new window, a new tab, any setting window and so. I believe it is supposed to make this kind of noise when I'm stressing it with more programs running, not by simply open the files explorer... Any idea on what to do? (model is Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD)ThanksNstant

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD loud fan noise

Hi Nstant,  Most probably a program or App is running at the background cause fast spinning fan to cool down CPU temp.  To figure it out, right click in your taskbar and from the opened menu click on task manager.  -From top menu click on performance tab then click on resource monitor ==> from top menu click on CPU tab and look at to the Average CPU usage and see which App or Program is using a high percentage of your CPU capacity==> right click on it and end the process.  .Regards,  **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. The Bluetooth version is combo Wifi Broadcom 4335/ Bluetooth Brcm2045It always show as working device in Device Manager. Can turn on, turn off. Can descover and pair with other out side device such as Smartphone. Browing file on other device is ok. Now let try to transfer files back and fort, very terrible, it only works for small file, let say less than 100kb. For larger file, the transfer always stuck at some point varies. Try to change the Smartphone, change the angle, position of the laptop and the phone, the transfer speed some time change but, extremly slow. This is hardware fault, should I take it to warranty? How to talk to them and how do they would reply.Do they just say it is working? Or do they erase my laptop?

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 15-IBD to an SSD, with a complete reinstall of Windows. Everything was working great; boot times were quicker and the system was far more responsive. However, the computer randomly freezes now, without any warning. I have to do a hard reset. Reliability monitor gives no clues of what the problem might be. The SSD is brand new, and passed a 'long' test this morning.

I have no idea where to go next; I seems that there is one problem after another with this laptop!

Thanks for your help!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Hi soopg.

When it freezes is there anything being logged in the event viewer? (System / Application / Other)

Have you looked at your Storage drivers. Before attempting to update please ensure you have an Image you can fall back to if required. While investigating would also be a good idea to have data backed up. You said this was a clean install so you likely have that point covered.

If you don't have a tool you could check out Macrium Reflect. Free, reliable and tutorial with forum.

You may wish to check out the Driver Verify process.

This tutorial will guide you through the verification process, heed the warnings. Assuming it fails follow the posting instruction in the BSOD section of forum.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

The tutorial states make a restore point. Seems to be a lot of people having issues using restore points hence have an Image.

Hi everybody, when I unplug the charger on my yoga 500 the screen starts to flicker like a rave party, I have searched like crazy all over and have found no solution to the problem. Things already tested:-Unplugging and plugging battery cable.-Disabling Windows error reporting service and Problem reports and solutions-Trying to update intel drivers from driver section and intel site.-Trying to update, and disable realtek hd audio driver. Things to take in account:-When connected to a second monitor, the new one won't flicker.-Laptop has warranty voided because of ssd install. (problem still occurs on bios with and withouth an HDD/SSD) so it shouldn't be considered a Windows 10 problem.-After SSD install, windows update doesn't allow me to update anything. I believe it thinks I'm booting from external hard drive. I cloned the original HDD into the SDD so that shouldn't be happening-Flickers increase with mouse, cursor and touch. Anybody has a fix for this? I read that a lot of people have this problem but I rarely see fixes.proof video https://www.dropbox.com/s/gttvhylvggtug7x/2017-05-26%2013.00.00.mov?dl=0

My Yoga 500 ideapad totally loses it when I plug it into power. The CPU slows down imidiately and runs at 100% usage every time I make an action (opens Chrome takes like 30 seconds). In Speccy, I can see, that the CPU runs at a speed of approx. 500 Mhz (Core speed). If I unplug the laptop, the speed goes up to like 1,9 Ghz when I opens chrome (chrome opens instantly) and CPU usage maxes out at 40% or so. I can now close Chrome, plug in the laptop once again, and if I open chrome now,it maxes out at 500 Mhz speed with 100% CPU usage. I have just completely reinstalled windows (10, 64 bit) hoping that this would solve the problem. But it haven'tI have downloaded ALL the drivers and software possible from Lenovos own support page for my laptop, I have ran numerous tests from Lenovo, and other thirdparty applications, no one in which finds any problems. What should I do? I have done everything in my power to try and fix this problem. I have tried every possibly advanced power options, I have even changed the "when plugged in" power options to match the "on battery" ones, but without any change in performance. I cannot figure out, if this is a problem with my power supply? Or the CPU itself? And no tests suggests any problems...  Anyone able to help me out with troubleshooting? Hi! Does this laptop model with InsydeH20 rev 5.0, Lenovo BIOS version EOCN61WW BIOS have any hidden options in it? I can't run some games with it to it's full potential, because the PL1 power limit it locked and set too low so it throttles if I don't cap my fps. I already undervolted it to get the powers down a little bit, but it didn't make enough difference. So I'd like to increase the power limit if it is possible somehow. I found some discussion on the case in point with other laptop models, but I'd like to know if it's possible with this specific device, before in dwell deeper into the matter. From what I gathered, I should tweak the EFI partiton variables with a Linux system for example. Am I on the right path here? You don't have to warn me about the riskyness, I know it and I have some experience in tweaking devices like this, not a guru though. E: I found out that I need some additional hardware to modify the BIOS (SPI Programmer and a SOIC clip). Do you have any other suggestions on what to do to stop the throttling?

Answer:Yoga 3-11 bios update

I noticed this too. At first when I tried to download it, I got the error message "file not found". Now I get"An error occurred while processing your request.Reference #132.26781bb8.1452343023.441e42" The changelog also is very strange. It just contains [Modified]Rename to v2.10.I would like to see a bios update that would finally fix the reclocking issue with my Yoga 3 11. Even with 2.09 bios I'm still stuck at 800 MHz sometimes.

I was wary as I couldnt find any real detail on the purpose of the update, other than link to rapid start, which I dont really think is necessary on an SSD machine (for me at least). Thanks for the heads-up, though.

I just got my Y2P.  Do I need to install this update?  What does it do?

Answer:Yoga 2 BIOS update v38

I'm a 'newbe' to this forum but will try to clarify in a non technical way.  The BIOS contains the basic data for the pc to startup; as sort of brain stem with all the electronic DNA between the full function allowing the machine to boot (start up).Updating the BIOS is rather like updating a programme to a revised version however 'flashing the BIOS is not without risk as it can destroy or corrupt vital data resulting in a boot failure mode. I've just done my update and there was a concern. Upon completion it did not automatically reboot as the instructions indicated. I was left with a blank screen and keyboard illuminated.  Very reluctant to switch off as this can destroy the BIOS completely. I contacted the support desk and indeed this seems to be a known problem of not completing reboot. Instructions werre to hold down the on/off button for at lest 8 seconds and it did indeed complete reboot successfully. My tip is print off the instructions before you start so you can recognise the step by step process. It only lists seven steps but the Tech Support desk has others beyond that.(!/?)Top marks to the UK technical help desk tele 0333 777 3991 (hope you wont need it!)

Hi there, Somewhere 3 months ago, I bought the new laptop (which came with Linux installed on it) and then I set up the BIOS password and now I can't remember it. So, I can't enter into the BIOS setup and can't change the boot priority that I need in order to boot from either the Windows 10 intstallation CD/DVD or the installation Flash Drive. Any suggestions plz? My notebook in detail is: Lenovo Ideapad 100 15IBD (80QQ012CUA)/179698. I thought you may know some default password for this BIOS build. I don't want to open the notebook as it's too new for that  Thank you

Answer:BIOS Update for S3 ThinkPad Yoga 14

Hi Ramthecowy. I have this Thinkpad Yoga 14 model "20DM008UUS"I installed that BIOS from day 1 with this machine and I'm using it with Windows 10. To be honest I don't remember if I updated to Windows 10 after or before the BIOS update. The fix on the bios looks interesting for people upgrading to Windows 10. There is no much detail, but it says it is to support Windows 10. Version 1.20 (BIOS ID: JFETxxWW) (Broadwell)(New) Core update to supprot windows 10.(New) Updated Broadwell E0/F0 MCU to 00000021h (MC0306D4_00000021).(New) Added Esrt of Intel ME and environment of test sign for WUFU.(Fix) Fixed an issue related to Enter hotkey no function issue on POST.(Fix) Fixed an issue related to HLK Watchdog Timer Test failure issue.(Fix) Fixed an issue related to POST hang after disabling memory protection in setup. ohhh that "(Fix) Fixed an issue related to Enter hotkey no function issue on POST.", I remember that someone on the forums was complaining it was not able to get into the BIOS menu.  I haven't got any issue on this machine with this BIOS, but who knows  Regards

I got a notice on my laptop saying there was a critical update, so I clicked ok go ahead with it. Now that this problem has occurred and I've been hunting for a solution I see that people generally warn against doing BIOS updates. Unfortunately I didn't know about that and was just naively letting the laptop go ahead with whatever updates it wanted. Too late now. My laptop shut itself down like it was going to restart, when I looked back over ten minutes later it was still sitting with a black screen and LED light on. Unresponsive to anything. It's been two hours now.  To make matter worse, I'm trying to contact Lenovo customer support and keep getting a "document not found" page error when I try to get to the contact information on Lenovo's website. This forum is apparently the only thing I can access. So.. any advice? I'm in a complete panic here as I heavily depend on that laptop for a number of things and having it not work puts me in a really bad situation.

I have a customer with a Thinkpad Yoga that has the issue where it won't go to sleep.  I've found numerous posts on this forum suggesting that we update the BIOS.  Trouble is that both from the Windows Utility, and the BIOS Boot CD, it just won't update.  I've confirmed that the machine ID and BIOS version are correct.  Neither utiltiy gives an error, they both say that it will update after a reboot, but nothing happens.  The machine still shows as using the very early 1.00 BIOS version after many restarts and attempts.   Thoughts?  Thanks!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga Will not update BIOS

Can you try updating to a slightly later than 1.0 BIOS version, then trying the latest version after? Sometimes upgrading all the way from 1.0 doesn't work.

Had a horrible experience .. with good ending ... when upgrading Bios for my Yoga 2 Pro. So I'd like to share with others. I bought my Yoga 2 Pro last June (Man 3/22/14) and love it! But, it had problem restarting automatically after Windows Update. At least 3 times (That I can recall. Did not use it briefly from June 30 - July 22), the screen reminding user not to shutdown after Windows the update would stay on until I manually powered it down and restarted it. Last July 23, it did again after Windows Update. Searched Lenovo web-site and found a Bios Update for Yoga 2 Pro (Win 8.1 64-bit). Downloaded the new Bios (dated July 11, 2014) and went through the instruction striclty. First of, the screen responses were not at all as detailed in the instruction. So, the instruction is not very good.  Received 2 warnings: Make sure the laptop is connected to the charger during the procedure, and the bios is for Yoga 2 Pro ONLY do not install it on any other models. As part fo the procedure, the laptop switched to a Bios Utility program. Again received the aforementioned warnings. Update progress was shown on the screen. All of a sudden, then screen went blank and the keyboard stayed lit. Waited for about 30 minutes. Still the same. Press and held the power button down (not sure for how long)  ... nothing!   Just no response from the latop.  Called Tech support. She (the tech support lady) said that ... it is not recommended for user to go through th... Read more

Answer:Yoga 3 Pro BIOS Update Crash

Hello AlecarrascoThanks for using the Lenovo forums. You should be able to contact Lenovo support in order to request a recovery media for your unit:
Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)1. Turn the unit off2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter5. Turn the unit on as normal .
If these steps do not work I would recommend, that you call your local Lenovo support line for a possible service. Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

I upgraded my yoga to Windows 10 soon after purchase a year and a half ago.  I have had few problems but one persists, intermitent problems charging with the AC adapter. There appear to be many Bios updates since the one that came with my yoga. I am running v1.03 and would like to update to version 96CN31WW(V1.17) but am justifiably concerned. - There is no means of backing up and restoring the current Bios so an update failure could be catastrophic.- The Bios readme file indicates it is for Windows 8 and 8.1.  I read a forum post that indicated that this shouldn't be a   problem on WIndows 10 and I agree but there is so little feedback in this forum or elsewhere about successful or   unsuccessful Bios updates on Yoga 2 13 so I am nervous about proceeding.- I don't know if this Bios update will solve my problem (no documentation from Lenovo about what any of the prior   Bios updates fixed) and there is always the possibility that this change could make my notebook more unstable. Again,   no means of going back.- For the reasons above, I always consider a Bios update a last resort. Anything else I can recover from and I am out of   warranty. I would appreciate any feedback on the stability and success of 96CN31WW(V1.17) updates and any information about what problems prior Bios updates for Yoga 2 13 addressed.

My Yoga 13 had the fan noise issue and I ran the recent fan embedded controller (EC) update to 66EC42WW from the Knowledgebase article. My BIOS is at 66CN52WW after the Jan 28 BIOS update (66cn52ww.exe). After the EC update and a cold boot I get the error message that Intel RST is no longer properly supported on my Yoga 13. Also, there is no longer a BIOS setting to enable/disable Intel RST. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall Intel RST, but get an error message that the system does not support it. I suppose this is due to the BIOS setting missing. I then went to the Yoga 13 driver page to see if there were any newer/older BIOS files and the Jan 28 BIOS update is now TOTALLY gone. So, a few questions: 1. Was there an issue with BIOS update 66CN52WW that forced the update to be pulled?2. If so, what were the problems?2. If the BIOS did have problems for those of us who applied the update, is there an older BIOS file we can reflash to restore Intel RST?3. If we do reflash with an older BIOS what should we do about the fan update? Go back to the original or keep the new one? Thanks for your input.

Answer:Yoga 13 - BIOS update kills Intel RST

HI,I have a yoga2 pro, with Bios 76CN27WW running Windown 10. I'm trying to update to the latest version, 76CN43WW. However upon running the installer, after the command for InsydeFlash64, I get an error message that no ROM are available in the folder. There clearly is a ROM, since I simply extracted the Lenovo bios files and that went normally. Tried with administrator mode, redownloading, and I always get this error.  I read on some HP forum that seems to use the same BIOS update tool that this is caused by the new bios not recognizing the very old one I have installed, and not letting me upgrade. However, I can't find any links of 'intermedidate' versions on the lenovo site that I could use as a step to bring this to the latest.  Any ideas? Thanks

I need help recovering from my Yoga 2 Pro freezing during the reboot while updating my BIOS.   A few months ago I upgraded my original EVO 850 128GB SSD to a matching EVO 850 1TB SSD, with fresh install of Windows 10 Pro from a bootable ISO thumb drive and restored data from MS Office 365 OneDrive. Battery conservation mode stopped working after that, even with that feature set in a new copy of the Lenovo Settings tool.  I tried tackling that problem (and a few other glitchess) by downloading updates from the Lenovo Support site.  Drivers that were newer installed with no problems, skipping ones that were older than MS Windows Update versions.  But the BIOS update is now a real problem.  I confirmed I have a Yoga 2 Pro and it told me it is proceeding from version 31 to version 43.  I assume it completed the flash and was trying to reboot when it hung.  Of course I am out of warranty, and probably now can't get premium paid support considering I don't have the original 128GB SSD with recovery partitions. Can anyone help me?  It might be as simple as powering off and restarting into the BIOS to reset some defaults I had changed.  But I'd rather let it sit until I get a response here.  Thanks in advance for any help from someone that had this problem and got past it with a known solution.

I followed the instruction on the read me, ran the .exe, clicked next/ok until the laptop restarted and if I'm not mistaken a red menu with a progress bar showed up. At that point I left and when I came back a few minutes later the laptop was turned on, the screen lighting was on but the display was black, the keyboard backlights were also turned on and everything else was off. The lights on/near the power button that signal if it's turned on and plugged to the AC are turned off. It's been like this for over 30 minutes now, no signs of progress. Has this happened to anyone else before? I'm not very keen on turning off or unplugging the laptop while flashing the BIOS, but at this point there's not much else I can do.

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Black Screen after Bios Update

I found the answer to my problem athttp://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-2-Bios-Update-Crash/m-p/1322487/high... Now that I found that post I do recall the instructions telling me to turn it off manually when I updated the bios earlier this year. However, the current instructions do not mention it at all, perhaps they should be updated?

I have a TP S1 Yoga (Model 20CDCTo1WW) running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. I utilize it mostly at work and have it hooked up to a Thinkpad Onlink Pro Dock.  I use the dock to run two external monitors, for connecting to our network (through an ethernet cable) and utilize the USB ports on the front/back to hook up a wireless keyboard/mouse, for powering my phone and for thumbdrives.  I had the problem of the Onelink having port "flapping" issues (network would disconnect and connect at random times) as discussed elsewhere in these forums.  The solution that I found was to update the bios.

I proceeded to attempt to update the bios (which I had not done since I purchased it in January 2014).  The current bios version is: GQET32WW (1.12), 1/22/2014.  I downloaded the TP Yoga bios update utility for Windows 8.1 (64-bit), Version 1.18.  I read the README and then ran the utility.  It installed the utility software to a location on the local drive ("c:" ) and then proceeded.  I went through the setup screens, selecting the "Update ThinkPad BIOS" clicking through a few more text boxes (with the warning about not powering off, keeping it plugged in, etc) until it asked to reboot. I clicked OK to reboot, which it did.  This is the next thinkg I seen on the screen:

Hi,

I just noticed the BIOS version on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro was slighlty outdated : 76CN38WW, 27-06-14 instead of 76CN43WW, 13-08-15.

As I have never made such an update, I wanted to know if there were any risk of crashing / loosing data by doing such an update if you stick to the recommendations (laptop on power supply, not shut down during operation,...)
Is it meaningful to update the BIOS version ? If yes, why ?

Notice that when I run the diagnostic tool of Lenovo, it doesn't recommend me any Bios update.

By the way I didn't get notified about this update. How is it possible to get an alert ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Philippe

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro - BIOS update - Risks and opportunities

Unless you have problem with your current BIOS, I don't recommend to update the BIOS.  One known issue with Lenovo BIOS update is they do update the "blacklist" for wifi adaptors.  Let say you need to replace your wifi card or want to upgrade the card with someting supports 5GHz, the new BIOS will make it impossible.  It will tell you the card is unsupported and won't let you past the POST.

As I know, Intel already published microcode updates for all Haswell CPU's, including mobile. At least, ASUS support confirmed, that BIOS of all MB for Haswell will be updated. Updated microcodes for Linux are already available. What about BIOS update for the Yoga 2 Pro with i7-4500U? Thank you in advance.

I have been suffering the, what seems common, screen flicker issue with my yoga 500 when on battery. After reading through some threads i discovered the problem was either, Drivers or Bios. After trying both drivers from lenovo themselves, and the latest from intel/nvidia the problem still remained.i then tried updating the bios. After windows shut down, the Phoenix bios updater stated a message that the bios had been sucessfully updated. The laptop then restarted and no longer posts or goes into windows. The Nova button also has no function and just causes the keyboard to illuminate and the fan to spins for 10 seconds before stopping.(Same as power button)Any advice?

Hi All,in the last days i performed a bios upgrade for an issue that now is solved: sometime when i powered on my Yoga 260 only with battery - fully charged - it didn't switch on.....it needed to feel the AC plugged in just for a minute (and than plugged it off), to let me switch on the laptop with battery.  After the Bios Upgrade (N1GET84W 1.63 - 21/12/2017), everythings seems to work properly except for Touchpad/Trackpad: Uefi Bios is correctly configured with the two field of Touchpad and Trackpoint "Enabled"I upgraded all driver of my laptop from Windows Update and from Lenovo Support web page (also checked from Lenovo Vantage app)Under "Mouse Settings" the Touchpad/Trackpoint settings are enabledMouse Settings                    My O.S.: Windows 10 Pro - Versione: 10.0.16299 - Build: 16299 I searched on forum and on internet but i found similar issues with no solutions that worked for me. Any idea about it? Best regards to all and Happy New Year!

What a coincidence. I just posted a similar issue to yours 15 mins after. I don't get any errors or indication about Intel Anti-Theft though, it just tells me my system is in STOLEN mode. For your issue, try looking at this POST

Hello, first of all sorry for my bad englisch.Yesterday evening I updated my BIOS from the version 2.0 to the version number 2.04.After the update I had multiple problems with the laptop. The sound didnīt work anymore and the laptop was very slow and sometimes didnīt even react. So I decided to use the "system recovery" on windows to see if it that would help. A few problems were solved by resetting the system but I now have problems with the fan. The volume has increased by alot. I barely could hear the fan before the problems with my laptop started. I also have the fealing that the laptop is slower in generell then it used to be, since the BIOS-Update.I hope somebody can help me. with kind regards

Hello MKRapidMkThanks for using the Lenovo forums.Have you noticed any temp increases in the system, I would recommend using something like RealTemp to monitor the temperatures of the system.

Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!
