I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just found something strange. Under Windows, my lenovo yoga 2 pro does not see my 5ghz wifi connection (from my dual band router). But I just booted under Linux Mint, and was able to connect to the 5ghz connection without issues. Any idea why this would be?

I have some problems with the Lenovo software. Lenovo Account Portal does not launch Lenovo Companion and Lenovo Settings. Also, Lenovo Solution Center is missing from the Start Menu. The second problem is that some tiles are blank in Start Menu. Seemingly it's the apps that aren't Metro. I'm not sure when the problem started, but I think it was like that since I got the PC. If I right click the apps, the only option will be "Pin to Start", and with some apps: Share and Rate. Here's a picture of the problem:I did already try:Restarting the PC.Doing scannow, DISM, and scannow again.Fixing Registry errors with CCleaner.Updating BIOS and drivers. What can I do to fix the problem?

Hi guys,I currently have a Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK. I was looking at upgrading the hard drive. I'm was going to put a standard SSD in it, but I was wondering if this model would actully be able to take M.2 SSD drive? Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-MZ-V6E250BW-250GB-Express-Solid/dp/B01M211K53/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qi... Thanks!

Getting message to say I have used 119G of 119G.  This could not possibly be correct.  As far as I can see there is no disk partition, only a C:   Since new I have installed very little software and a couple of apps.  Please help

Answer:Lenovo YOGA 700 14ISK

Someone would need more info to help.  What kind of machine?  Operating system?  Disk size?  Why are you sure the message is wrong?  A 128GB SSD could easily have 119GB of usable space with almost all being gone.

Hi just got lenovo yoga 500 - 14ISK for christmas and the bootup time to start Windows 10 is about 4 to 5 minites. With 8g ram, I5-6200 cpu and SSHD 1TB + 8g hard drive it seems abit long. I also have a desktop pc with I5,8g ram and a SSD drive and it take less than a minite. I know its not a full SSD drive in the yoga 500 but its so long to boot up i dont no if its all Lenovo bloatware loading or if its a faulty drive. Any one had the same problem and can give advice please.

Answer:lenovo yoga 500 - 14ISK

Hi focus 5522,system boot up with sshd drive must be under 20 seconds (even with lenovo bloatware), there must by some hw or sw problem, try check your device manager for some broken drivers or task manager for some high cpu usage processes and it can help to find out what's wrong. If you can't find anything, just try reinstall whole your system (lenovo recovery from recovery partiton - accessible thought novo button, or you can download win10 iso image and microsoft usb instal tool and reinstal whole system without lenovo sw.)Tomas

Hi! I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 710-14isk in France which comes with a charger known as "Wall charger" : this one http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/chargers-and-batteries/chargers/PWR-ADP-BO-65W... I'm moving to Canada next month for 2 years and I would like to know if this charger can be turned into a US / Canada charger by changing only the wall plug? It seams that the plug can be separate from the rest of the chaeger but I didn't find how.I didn't find on the lenovo store any plug to replace my french plug as well. Do you know if something like that exist and where I can find it?If not I guesss it's easier and cheaper to buy only a universal plug adapter, but since I'll stay in Canada for a long time, a proper integrated solution seems better for me ! Thank you for your help !

Hello,I've been experiencing some terrible fan noise, now for the third time. I had the fan replaced twice and the noise keeps returning after a month or so.The main problem is the quality of the fan, it just bends and then touches the "frame".Anyone experiencing the same? or I'm just an extremely unlucky person with two bad fans?I'm looking for a longlasting solution, I cannot replace the fan every month.cheers

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-14ISK fan issues

I have the same device since almost 2 years and I never had such issue with it.

Hi,I've just bought Lenovo YOGA 500-14ISK ( i7 8GB 500GB GF940-2GB) and I'm very disappointed with one problem - I've notice that  sometimes when I use keyboard, spacebar does not work correctly. After closer look, it appears that space does not work at all if I press it near its right edge (about 0,5 cm from the right edge of spacebar is a blind spot). It is typical flaw in that keyboard and all laptops of this model works like this, or it is only a problem with my unit and I should return it ?

Answer:Lenovo yoga 500-14ISK spacebar problem

No laptop should be like that. Most likely the stabiliser bar which runs underneath the spacebar (and other longer than normal keys) is not attached at one end. While probably easily fixed since it's under warrenty it's not worth risking anything so just have it fixed or exchanged.

Bought one of these and want to up the RAM from 4 to 8Gb
have taken the back off, but the ram appears to be under a metal silver shield with no obvious way in.
Anyone come across this before
There is nowhere else for the RAM to hide
Cheers

Answer:How to access RAM on Lenovo YOGA 510-14isk laptop

"...no obvious way in."
Why on earth Lenovo decided to armour-plate the RAM module in this way is beyond me - the cover serves no good purpose, and certainly doesn't act as an RF shield in any way.
The good news is that you can remove the metal cover quite easily. There are small metal clips along the side, and if you carefully pry these open with a suitable tool ( I have used a small flat-blade screwdriver) you will find that the cover can be opened without too much trouble, revealing the single RAM module.

Hi guys,  Got my yoga last month and it's been okay, bit slow to load from sleep but it's done the job. Only thing is its now in a permanent sleep mode. I've tried re-charging it from zero battery, hard reset, putting the lid up and down, combining that with hard reset too. what to do? Do I have to send it somewhere? Obviously I don't want to open the thing up, I'd rather leave that to a professional. cheers.

Hi all I recently purchased the aforementioned Lenovo model 2 and a half months ago (around May 5). Hello. I from Belarus and sorry for my bad English.I write in this forum because our support couldn't help me. So, I bought a yoga in February. This lapton is wonderful. I choice it for a very long time because for me it was a very important and expensive thing. But.. in april this happened. At first everything was invisible, but every day more and more.I'm studying for a programmer and for me it was unpleasant. Most of all it was a pity that I chose the laptop because of the convenient keyboard. I writing in support, but they said, that I'm need to go to the service center. But he is 400 km away from me. They said, that I need to wait for evaluation and repair time. I can not afford it financially. Now I looked through many forums, this problem turned out only for me. It's very insulting.I know that you do not do such trifles. Just you last chance not to be disappointed in the purchase. Help me please. Thank you for attention!

My keyboard stopped suddenly working. First the mousepad froze and when I got it working I realized that the keyboard isn't working. When I try to click anywhere it immediately starts typing "zzzzzzz..." and won't stop. I am currently using my laptop in tablet mode. I was able to type a, q and 1 when holding down the letter z, but I updated the bios and now nothing works (I was previously also able to 'disable' the letter z, when holding it down with the buttons next to it). Could it be possible to fix the problem or should I give up and take it to repairs?

I have Lenovo Yoga 500-14ISK with Intel Core i7-6500U CPU and NVIDIA GeForce 940M GPU. Today when I was playing Rocket League on it while monitoring the temperatures I've noticed that the CPU temperature was max. 94 Celsius degrees and GPU temperature was max. 82 Celsius degrees. This is actually quite hot. Is it normal in this laptop? Are these temperatures safe to it? I was so scared by these temperatures that I've uninstalled that game from my laptop.

Hey all, I have seen this issue crop up in quite a few places but I have unfortunately never come across a solution which solved my issue. After having my laptop for just over 6 months I finally decided enough is enough and collected information from around to internet to try and solve my issue. The reason I decided to pesued this is that I work for a games company in the tech department and their games runs on laptops over 10 years old with specs that make the Yoga 700 look like a super computer.  What issue? Running the lenovo solutions centre hardware checker on and Lenovo Yoga 700-14ISK will fail on the mathematical operations test. Why is this an issue? For normal use, this is not much of a problem, I have seen reports of other users black screening persistently but I have never personally experienced this issue. It's mostly an issue if you play games with graphical post processing such as ambient occlusion or anti aliasing. You will most certainly black screen a lot.  Dilema. if you're like me, you have tried to install all the graphics drivers under the sun with no prevail. Every time you check your graphics drivers' dates they insist they are up to date with the latest driver from the 18th of December 2015. We all know this is not the case. This is windows 10's handy dandy "KEEP EVERYTHING UP TO DATE AND STABLE" feature, which unfortunately is a double edged sword.  Solution! 1. You have probably just accepte... Read more

So, I've had some instances, where I'm doing something on my laptop, and then my computer screen suddenly blacks out for less than 1 second, and then turns on again. After that, I would get a notification that the Intel HD Graphics 520 driver on my PC has crashed and recovered. Then I decided to do a hardware scan, found that the Mathematical Operations Test in Video Card failed, and got the code WVC007002-UL7CAF. I thought the failure would be the cause. Therefore, how would I fix it?

Hello, I've had this lenovo yoga 710 for only a few months now and on multiple occasions, I've gone to open my camera/skype call, and I get a black screen, that says, "We Can't Find Your Camera". Now, I've read about a million posts about solutions to similar problems, but can't seem to get anything to work. When I go into "Device Manager", there are no camera drivers under "Imaging Devices" or "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers". So I looked it up, and everything I read says to go to the lenovo website, find the right camera driver for my specific computer, and download it. Well, I've tried that with a bunch of different camera drivers including the "AzureWave, Bison, Chicony, Liteon" one that is supposedly the right one for this computer, and after hitting "install" and "finish", I get a pop-up "error" message that simply says, "No device found". I've uninstalled and reinstalled lenovo "easycam", but it says the same thing -- "Can't find device", etc.Any suggestions would be awesome, I've only had this laptop for a few months and this has happened at least 4 or 5 times now and it's really becoming quite the aggravation when trying to video chat with family from college. Thanks in advance!

Hey there, I recenently got one of the Lenovo Notebooks of the Yogaseries, which exactly it is, is stated in the title. However, since yesterday I never had any problems with it, I really like it, the convertible function etc., but it seems, that my display registeres touches Im not applying, it touches like everywhere over my screen and I dont even have my hands on the computer. When I restart it or install the touchpad driver from the supportsection for my notebook, it is okay for like 10 mins and then it goes all over again. I found an interesting solution for a similar problem, its in this thread: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/documents/SF15-I0024 I have literally the same issue, problem is, the fix which is downloadable there, seems to only work for panels from LG, I figured out the hardware ID from my IPS panel, but I cant figure out where its factured or where I can get a fix for this issue. The ID is: MONITOR\  "CMN14B1" At the moments its okay but I always have this weird box right in the middle of my screen: https://abload.de/img/unbenanntdvscn.jpg Its always like that before it goes crazy like 5 minutes later, I think I have to restart soon again, its really annoying and I really cant do something like that. regards

I've had a Yoga 13" purchased from Best Buy since Christmas.  It has been working fine.  Today, for no reason, it will not connect to WiFi.  It shows the WiFi bars and that it is connected to the router but none of the apps will work e.g. explore, chorme. Apps like Fbook, weather etc. will not receive updates.  Router works as all other tablets and computers are connecting and working OK.   I've rebooted the Yoga a number of times and nothings changed. Yoga is running W8 and I updated everything when I connected to the net the first time. Any suggestions?

Answer:Yoga Stopped Connecting to WiFi

Very strange -- Are you sure your Yoga is connected to the correct router?  If it shows the wifi bars in the taskbars then it sounds like you're connected, but if you don't have internet access then perhaps you're connected to the wrong router or your DHCP settings got messed up. Try forgetting the network (left-click on bars, left-click on Connected router, click on Disconnect.  Then connect again to your router.

Hi everyone, I have bought this machine : Lenovo Yoga 2 on Amazon These latest two days, since I have received it, I am stuck with a USB 3.0 issue. My Storejet M3 1To is connecting then disconnecting  every 5 seconds.Of course, I made several searches, on this forum and on google, but none of the solutions provided have solved my problem.I tried to cut the energy saving in power mode, and also in USB controller (device manager) like many people do in this case.I also try to look in "Interupt Request (IRQ)" but I do not have any other device with the same IRQ. I tried to get on Windows 10, same problem.I finally update the BIOS but it was worst. So I return to factory settings and install Windows 8.1 Now I have turned to my first start when I received the laptop. Is someone has the same issue and reached to solve it ? Thank you for your answers.Regards

Hi all first post so please be gentle I've just bought a Yoga 300 for my daughters 18th & try as I might it WILL NOT connect to my Asus RT-N66U router.I have a devolo WIFI extender which it connects to with out an issue but not the router directly. I have locked the router down with mac addresses but I have added the Levonos mac & it still does not work, I've even turned off mac filtering.....still no joy. I have noticed at some point it WAS connected....via ethernet?????? looked as much as humanly posible but could see no cble connected. I even felt around the machine in case I had inadvertently connected an invisable cable but no nothing there either (frustrated lol). I have spent 4 hours today searching to internet updating/rolling back drivers but still the machine refuses to connect directly to the router.Yes it is the correct WEP key. I am going absolutly crazy trying to figure this out hopefully someone can please please help as the machine will be next to usless for my daughter as she is out of range of the extender but in ranger of the router. Many many thanks in advance.

Hi all,I'm trying to figure out how to connect my yoga book(Android version) to my windows laptop and using it as a wacom tablet for Illustrator and other graphics programs. On the yoga book, when i connect the device (USB) to the pc , it let me choose for the type of connection, i used to select MIDI. On windows side nothing happens, does anyone know how to do this? Is it possible?

Answer:Connecting Lenovo yoga book(Android) to windows pc

Hi
This is not a common use of Android tablets. Lenovo does not have anything official about this subject.

I had never tried it but there is a project to use Android tablet as a graphic tablet, of course it is not related to Lenovo at all.
Check it out here : http://rfc2822.github.io/GfxTablet/

It will be interesting if you can report back if it worked for you.

Hello I have a Lenovo G50-70 which i upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 in August. All was working fine until yesterday, my connection status had an X on it. I downloaded the latest LAN and WLAN drivers from lenovo support and they could not install. Today i restored my notebook and i got my ethernet controller back but still there is an X on it. Can you please help me out. On Network Sharing center the ethernet adapter is stuck on disabled, how can i bring it back? Thanks in advance

Answer:Lenovo G50-70 not connecting to wifi and ethernet

hi maffsojah,

Welcome to the Forums.

When you open the properties of the ethernet device, do you see an error stating that the drivers can't be loaded?
 - Sample image

Things that you can try:

1. Follow this guide on how to disable automatic driver installation

2.  For the Ethernet: open Device Manager > Network Adapters > Realtek PCI GBE Family Controller (right click > uninstall) and ensure the "delete device driver" is checked.

When finished, navigate to the Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features and uninstall the Realtek Ethernet Controller driver then reboot.

After the reboot, install this ethernet driver. If there's no improvement, navigate to Device manager > Ethernet Controller (right click > choose Update Driver Software) > Browse my computer for driver software > Browse and point it to c:\drivers\Realtek Lan Driver\WIN8\64 and observe.

3. For the Wireless LAN adapter, the steps are similar to Step 2 above but instead, you will need to uninstall the wireless LAN driver and re-install it.

If you have an Intel Wireless Card (e.g., Intel 7260), then you will need to re-install this wireless LAN driver. Otherwise, follow this guide on how to identify the correct wireless driver by its hardware ID.

After installing the driver, check the device manager > network adapters if it's clear of errors and see if you can now conn... Read more

My lenovo g500's wifi doesn't connect in my home. However it connects fine at uni etc just to this router. I have seen this to be a common problem and it's a real issue as I need wifi for almost everything I use it for. Please get back to me soon.

Answer:Lenovo G500 Wifi not connecting.

hi iaincrawford56,

Welcome to the Forums.

When you said the wifi is not connecting, do you mean you can see the SSID of your wireless network, enter your network key then it connects but you get a limited access with a valid IP (e.g., 192.168.1.10)?

if other devices connects fine to your home Wi-Fi, try these steps:
1. If you're far away from the router (more than 20ft), try to move closer (around 5ft).
2. If you use MAC Filtering, ensure that you set the MAC address correctly on the allowed devices list or temporarily disable it and observe.
3. If you use WPA2-AES encryption, try to use WPA2-TKIP for best compatibility.
4. If you can't the SSID of your wireless network, ensure that the router is broadcasting 2.4Ghz SSID.

If you any other configurations (router behind a router), try to connect to the main router's SSID first and observe.

Let me know how it goes.

Dear all, I have read about many issues regarding Wifi connection (connection drops often without any reason, poor signal strength, too long time to establich connection...). My problem could sound similar, but it's rather different:Although my wireless connection appears like Enabled in Win8, I cannot switch it on / connect. It appears like Not Connected (Wifi = Off). In fact,  I cannot see any wifi network when the list of available networks used to be.- I checked BIOS, and it's set as Enabled.- I updated BIOS to the last version.- I updated wireless wireless drivers to the last version- I modified the wireless configuration as it's especified in the long forum thread for Wifi issuesBut nothing has been successfull. For some strange reason, I cannot switch the wifi device on.My laptop was bought in December 1012. It's a model from USA. Is some else suffering from the same problem? Many thanks in advance!

After an automatic windows update my computer (running Windows 8.1 64-bit) suddenly lost connection to my external monitor. I tried connecting to the tv with another cable and it didn't work either.I uninstalled the latest update and it didn't work. I tried doing a system restore to a few days earlier and it didn't work. Then I updated the BIOS and it suddenly started connecting again. The problem is the next day it stopped connecting to the monitor again. This time I couldn't update the BIOS because I already had the latest version. And even if I could I shouldn't be having to do that. What can I do?

I got a Lenovo G505s laptop for my Christmas and the WiFi was working perfectly at first at home, then I went to my Aunt's for the Christmas get together and my laptop was working perfectly with her WiFi too. My brother advised me to remove a bunch of the start up programs because they're just junk so I did removing the ones he suggested to but when I got home I couldn't connect to my WiFi and haven't been able to since on my Lenovo G505s. Was there a program I uninstalled that is needed to connect to WiFi?  I also pressed each of the buttons above the numbers(the mute button, sound down/up etc) just to see what they did(Airplane Mode is off)In order to connect to the net I've been using the Ethernet cable I have in my room; is there something I need to deselect to switch back to wireless connection? Help please

My new Lenovo Yoga 3Pro drops the internet at random times and very frequently (sometimes after a few seconds, other times after 15 minutes).  My smart phone stays connected at all times, and my previous computer never had this problem, so it seems to be this computer.  My daughter, for whom I bought the same computer, complains of the same thing (though she is off at college, so it's not the same internet provider).  Is there some simple fix I can do?  I am not especially computer savvy, but willing to give it a try because I can't keep on restarting my computer to capture internet I know is there.

Answer:YOGA 500 14ISK (IPS or not)

Hi Halina,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking on the machine number 80R5003HUK Yoga 500-14ISK Laptop (IdeaPad) - Type 80R5:
Original OEM part number from parts lookup: Part Number: 5D10K42173 LCD Module W 80R3 FHD W/BEZEL

Yoga-500-14ISK marketed also from multiple resellers (here, here and here) with FHD Multi-touch IPS.

It is possible that replacement display from original part number 5D10K42173 (highlighted for Lenovo encompass pricing) with cheaper IBM compatible screen or other resellers that would also work with the model similar to Chi Mei CMN14A7 TN screens.

Hope this help answer your query.

Hey there.I just got a Yoga 500-14ISK too and I ran into a thread (here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/FLex-3-Video-card-Mathematical-Operatio... where guys were having similar issues, as well as the Lenovo Companion app detecting hardware errors. I don't have black screen issues but it does tell m I have an Intel HD 520 hardware problem. What they suggested is that the laptop is "too new" for the drivers and Lenovo has acknowledged the issues. (see here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht105222) Some people fixed the black screen problem by manually installing these drivers:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25620/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-6th...Hope this helps!

Here is my situation (read carefully): I never had wifi problems with my 1st gen Lenovo Yoga running Windows 8 64-bit. Always super fast wifi and 5 bars on the icon. One morning, I couldn't connect to my home wifi (unidentified network), but I had no problem on my Android phone. I called my Internet provider and they "separated" the 2.4GHz channel (made for further distances, but slower) and the 5GHz channel (for shorter distances, faster). From then on, I could see the 2.4GHz on my laptop, but not connect to it and I couldn't see the 5GHz.On my phone, I could see both. As I obviously suspected a problem with the Realtek RTL8723A network adapter on my laptop, I reinstalled the driver, which partly solved the problem, as I can now surf the Internet on the 2.4GHz, but still can't see the 5GHz.Plus, I only have 1 bar on the icon, even though I'm 2m from the router. Is there anything I could do to see both channels, just like on my phone, and be able to use the faster 5GHz channel? Thanks

Hey folks, after my wife accidentally broke the HDMI port in our Yoga 13" I picked up a replacement motherboard and swapped them out. Everything seemingly was great after the swap out until I realized that wifi/bluetooth was missing when Windows (8.1 Pro) booted. First thought was airplane mode enabled, but checked and it was off. Popped open Device manager and realized it is not showing the native (and obviously terrible) Realtek USB wifi whatsoever. Moved over to the Lenovo website to acquire the latest drivers but was unsuccessful getting them to work. Tried both the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 drivers for kicks but with no luck. Initial thought was loose connection from the goofy wifi cable on the terrible Realtek card so I tore it back down and checked connections. Powered back on with card still missing from device manager, so I was wondering if the connection for the wifi card on the new motherboard was faulty. Tossed the original motherboard with broken HDMI port back into the Yoga to see if wifi would be present again but even with the original mobo back in the card was still not present in device manager. Ordered a replacement Realtek wireless card and cable and installed again with the new motherboard, but of course still no wifi showing in device manager. So I am circling back around to software issue here and looking for advice. I do have a single unknown device in device manager but my background is Cisco networking more than PC repair so unsure if this is re... Read more

Highly unlikely, but could both mobos have faulty wifi connectors?

Recently there was a Wifi Driver issue, which got resolved when the service guy came and replaced it, 6-8 weeks ago. After that my Wifi works fine but has a bit of a performance issue - It takes some time to identify Wifi Networks. If I switch on my bluetooth, the wifi performance degrades more, i.e. more time to identify network and the speeds of download/upload deteriorates a lot (A video in Youtube 720p quality is brought down to 144p).In addition it seems to take a lot of time for my bluetooth to identify a device. Does the Wifi and Bluetooth share the antennas? If so does this mean the antenna have a problem now?Is there a way to troubleshoot this? maybe by checking speed on Wifi and bluetooth.

The notebook has been reset but can not find the WIFI card. It disappeared, it seems that it does not exist. Hi Guys, I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop. This is the second time I have had issues with the WiFi dropping out frequently.  The first time was when I first downloaded windows 10 - I downloaded a new driver from the Lenovo website and everything worked perfectly.  The last couple of months it has been playing up again. My phone and any other devices will be connected to the internet however my laptop will repeatedly disconnect from the internet, this happens a ridiculous amount of times everyday - and it's not just my home wifi! Im currently at my university library and it does the same thing. It just drops out randomly and says "not connected - no connects are available" I have to keep restarting my laptop for it to reconnect to the internet (I know that's probably not the best thing to do but it's the only thing that sometimes works). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software, I've scanned for hardware changes and nothing comes up?? Has anyone got any ideas on anything else I could try?  Thank you all!

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro 1370 running Window 10 build 10586.104This is a fresh install less than one week old. I conducted a fresh install in an effort to solve a problem I have been having for over amonth now. With the WiFi network adapter enabled I am unable to move the laptop nor move the screen as this causes the entire system to freeze requiring a full reboot. Disabling the card through device manager allows me to move the laptop as normal. This happens irrespective of what applications are open at the time. The only error message that shows in the event logs is the following: "The system watchdog timer was triggered."  - System

I have a yoga 13 (the oldest version) that recently broke on the base cover near to the hinge. I brought a replacement base cover (something I know Lenovo would probably not recommend). I went about disassembling the yoga and transferring all the components from the broken base cover to the new one. After reassembly, everything worked except for the wifi with the system stating that the local area connection adapter is disabled.I have checked the connections to the wifi card and all appear fine and have checked to see if the antennas on the new cover are broken by reconnecting up the ones from the broken cover but this does not work.Is this a problem with the system or alas a hardware problem that would need repairing?

Hi, I bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 910 series laptop, costing a fortune. Its not even 20 days since I bought this laptop, I am seeing the wifi adaptor losing the connection within 5 mins of usage. Whats worse, it causing my wifi router to jam as well, and all of my other devices loses connection. I have few other devices, including a lenovo thinkpad, where i never faced any issues till date.  After some research I found out that the wifi adaptor in the lenovo yoga is Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4a  and it has lots of issues on Windows 10 and people are complaining on multiple forums about it since couple of years. Suprising that Lenovo nor Microsoft nor Qualcomm has not fixed it yet or I couldnt find a proper solution till now.  It is such a bad customer experience, that such a basic thing like wifi connectivity is not working properly on such a high end laptop. I feel I just made a bad decision of buying this waste device instead of a Mac book Pro. Hope someone from Lenovo fixes this for me or else I shall return this device.

hi everybody, just bought a lenovo yoga 2 pro and I'm not seeing any wifi networks, it said I couldn't customize anything cuz windows wasn't activated, then it couldn't activate since it had no connections, and then it didn't find any networks at all, and i was not on airplane mode, any suggestions?

Answer:new lenovo yoga 2 pro doesn't connect to wifi

The Yoga 2 Pro has lots of problems with the internet. There is a 66 page thread on the internet issues the device has here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-2-Pro-Wifi-Problems/td-p/1277577/ Maybe something it the link above will help you. Currently, some internet issues have no fix and are only experinced when you connect to certain routers. As a fix, read the thread above. If you can get it working with one router, take that router with you in your laptop bag and ask your employer, school, airport, hotel or Starbuck Employee to allow you to use your router instead of their router. Best of luck! Shall this be the year of the do!

Hello, The WiFi adapter is the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 and the drivers are from October 2017, the Device Manager is showing the network card as working without issues and nothing is reporting any problems, yet I am unable to simply turn the WiFi ON. The operating system is Windows 10 and I have tried the following: - enabling the WiFi interface using the command prompt (says it is already enabled)- trying older drivers for the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 (still will not turn ON)- opening the laptop and disconnecting the two wires from the WiFi module, then reconnecting (still no difference)- disabling and then re-enabling the Wireless in BIOS (no difference)- loading default settings in BIOS (no difference)- installing Windows 8.1 from scratch (same problem)- re-installing Windows 10 (same problem)- installed all of the Lenovo utilities and Companions I could find (still nothing)- windows troubleshooting simply tells me to switch the WiFi ON using either a hardware switch (which does not exist on this notebook) or the software switch using the keyboard - I press the F7 for airplane mode and it says that it goes into that mode, then pressed again and it simply goes back to WiFi which is turned OFF and showing the red X What is interesting is that when I booted TAILS from a USB drive the WiFi worked without issues, so this is obviously a software problem. Any suggestions?

Hello all,.I've recently bought a 14" yoga (model no: 80S700D7UK).I'm interested in possibility of upgrading the current i3-6100u CPU to an i5 or i7 but cannot find anything in the maintance manual. Does anyone have an idea if it is possible and what cpu models are compatible to the socket/chipset/cooling potential.Thank you all,Vedran

Answer:Yoga 510-14isk cpu upgrade

Hi RefurbishedYoga,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking with i3-6100u specification here for the supported socket show BGA (ball grid array) or soldered onto the motherboard so it cannot be upgraded.

Similarly, as the hardware manual does not offer steps for CPU removal, page 70-71 item 4 show description of the motherboards with the CPU that it comes with too. So upgrading the CPU would mean changing the entire board instead.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Is the RAM on a Yoga 710 14ISK upgradeable? I am thinking of buying one of these with 8GB RAM and I need to know if it could be swapped for a 16GB card at a later date if that turned out to be necessary. I understand that I would need to do this through an authorised repair centre or void the warranty.

I have had a Yoga 700 14ISK for approx. 1.5 years. I have just started having issues with the fan constantly running even with very little usage / open applications. I checked CPU usage in task manager and it is very low ~ 2%. I have seen some suggestions to update BIOS for the Yoga 710 to deal with this issue. The only BIOS update I have seen for the Yoga 700 was from Sept 2016. I've also seen some suggesitons to download a fan control utlity and then adjust fan settings. Anybody else experiencing this issue with the Yoga 700 ? Should I download the BIOS update from Sept 2016 ? Will that help ?  Any advice would be apprecaited. Thanks,

You can try setting your current BIOS to default settings to see if there would be any changes.
