Driver needed to run Sony Bluetooth speaker

Question: Driver needed to run Sony Bluetooth speaker

I recently purchased a Sony SRS-X11 Bluetooth speaker (recommended by Which Magazine).
I have not been able to find a Windows driver to connect this speaker to my operating system. Can any one help or have any suggestions.

I have purchased a Bluetooth dongle which appears to be working fine: the system recognises the speaker through the dongle but when I run the set up, the system says it is looking for software updates to complete the process but that is as far as it goes because I get an error message informing me that software can not be found. I have also contacted Sony and they can't help and told me to search online for a Windows driver.

Preferred Solution: Driver needed to run Sony Bluetooth speaker

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Driver needed to run Sony Bluetooth speaker

The bluetooth "dongle" market is a very complicated one and is full of a lot of low quality products which are often not supported, you could, ( if you can discover the information because your hardware is from a major manufacturer ), try contacting the dongle manufacturer, but these are often small 3rd world or far east companies, that appear and disappear overnight. The additional software the dongle is looking for could easily be something from a long gone affiliate of the hardware manufacturer, as it was normal for these devices to use free libraries of functions, which are no longer available.

there is a company called BlueSoleil, the most easy-to-use, innovative and interoperable Bluetooth software, Bluetooth driver which is a major player in the blue tooth market (though not a driver only source) which my support your dongle though this may mean additional costs. best way would IMHO the return the dongle and purchase something from one of the major suppliers

Edit

The following is a list of the main chipset manufacturers for Bluetooth - if you can find out the name of the Chip in your device you may be able to obtain drivers direct from one of these companies although some do not deal direct with the public it may be worth a try ( search for the company support site as the links are email addresses of sales contacts)

So, i got a speaker Sony rdp-x200ipn.

I have an Acer Aspire E17

I can connect my speaker to my laptop via bluetooth fine, when it's connected i can test the speaker and it makes the beep sound. When i start itunes, my speaker plays the sound fine, but when i search for example a youtube video I hear NO sound. When I turn of my speakers the sound is fine and plays from my computer and when I turn it on again no sound.

Can anyone help me?

Answer:Sony External bluetooth speaker not playing sound

Two possibilities. (1) The "Stereo Mix" is not set as the default recording device. (2) The Bluetooth is not set as the default playback device.

I bought a Sony SRS-X7 Blutooth speaker to get rid of the cables. The device works perfectly with several other devices: iphone, blackberry, an Asus tablet, but i havn't been able to make it work with my laptop.I was able to add the device. Was founded and recogniced by the laptop, but when almost finishing the process appears a message "Configuring bluetooth services" and stays there. I've tried to wait, even from one day to another, and the message remains there. After forcing to close this message window, the speakers figure between the bluetooth devices, but when trying to connect an "error establishing connection" message appears.I've tried to install the other driver available on the support site (an intel, this one is a Broadcom) with no results.Appreciate your help, as i'm seriusly thinking (don't want to) on replace the laptop. Best regards.

Answer:Sony Vaio Laptop Sound Driver Driver Needed

There is an auto-detect at Sony that should take you to yor model and then you should be able to select drivers for it. The audio ones are pretty far down the list. Here's the link:
http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select-system.pl?PRODTYPE=1,24,26,66,9,70,5,72
When I entered the model # you posted, at Sony support, it took me to these models:

VGN-FE780G
VGN-FE790
VGN-FE790G
VGN-FE790G/N

I think your number may have been a series number.
They all use the Sigmatel HD audio driver:
ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/STDAUD-01098107-US.EXE

These are the installation instructions:
To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
Download the STDAUD-01098107-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the STDAUD-01098107-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
At the "SigmaTel® High Definition Audio Device Driver for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation. NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.

Hi,

On Windows 8. 1, I had no issues with this speaker. It's a JBL Charge. After upgrading to 10 it worked fine until a reboot when it failed to connect (it pairs, but won't connect, and the speaker doesn't appear as an audio-out option in Sound settings).

The Bluetooth wizard in PC Settings says "Driver error" next to the speaker icon.

Poking around in device manager, I see this error:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Conflicting Address Range}
The specified address range conflicts with the address space."

The only references I find to this error online are for different (and quite old) version of windows, and seem unrelated to Bluetooth.

I can't even look at the "resources" tab for help because it appears to have vanished in Windows 10!

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Actually upgrading is a good opportunity to update all your drivers anyhow.
I would suggest doing that. If you give the exact model of the laptop I'm sure someone here can point you where all your major drivers are.

Hello!,I somehow managed to delete the Bluetooth drivers that shipped with my desktop (win XP). It occurred when I tried updating it to support my headset. Now my system does not detect the USB Bluetooth adapter .I understand this driver; which consists of Generic Bluetooth Radio and Microsoft Bluetooth Radio, came with XP SP2.I downloaded SP2 and SP3 to reinstall so as to solve the problem. System rejected SP2 saying its an older update but accepted SP3 but problem persists .Where can I get the original Bluetooth drivers that shipped with XP SP2. I hope to bring the system to its original state (before I tempered with the drivers without backing up ).Please Help Me I have learned my lesson.

Hi there
Try fiddling around on THIS site (Sony Asia)

Support for VPCEH15EG : E Series (VPCE) : VAIO™ Notebook : Sony Asia Pacific

(Ok that's my model) but yours should work -- if you can't find the EXACT same one try one that's similar. Sony won't change drivers for every possible piece of hardware -- a lot of these will work on most models of a similar series. Usually it's just the screen and video that's different.

Forget trying to find anything sensible on European or US sony sites. Fortunately the Asia site is in English.

I have a Lenovo laptop, running Windows 7, 64-bit. It's 3 years old but has ran perfectly until now. The issue i'm having isn't with my laptop, however, but it did create the problem...

After doing a routine update, my laptop wouldn't start up. I was forced to do a system restore, so I lost everything. It was set back to factory settings. I got it going again, it's fine, but my bluetooth headphones won't work anymore. It says I need to install a bluetooth peripheral device driver. I have tried a few solutions others have had, like downloading a driver (every time I tried, it said network error, but I am online so I don't know why it didn't download). I also tried installing something called "windows mobile device center' which didn't help at all, and I could do nothing with it, I can't even uninstall it so now i'm stuck with it I guess, but it's useless. I also tried right clicking on all my bluetooth icons (under device manager) and updating through there, sometimes some of them successfully 'updated', but nothing changed so I doubt anything really happened.

I CAN add my headphones to my laptop, it shows up under the bluetooth devices, but it has the yellow exclamation point saying to troubleshoot, and of course when I do, it says there are no drivers installed. The headphones didn't come with a CD, they were simple to install and took 5 minutes, apparently my laptop at the time had the right driver, which now apparently it lost in the system restore. But I neve... Read more

Z70-80 laptop. I replaced Win8.1 with Win7 64bit a long time ago (downloaded Win7 drivers from Lenovo). Bluetooth and cardreader never worked after that. I have recently needed Bluetooth and have been unsuccessful at getting it working. Windows shows bluetooth driver as Microsoft Generic. I downloaded more drivers from Lenovo and have manually installed each of them to see if they will work, and they don't. Part of the problem is that I don't know what hardware is in this machine. I know this is not a hardware problem, because I can put the old Win 8.1 harddrive in, and bluetooth works with it. What is the bluetooth hardware in this machine? Where can I get Windows 7 64 bit drivers for bluetooth?

Answer:Z70-80 Win7 64bit bluetooth driver needed

The caveats of downgrading. If the driver not supporting Win 7 you're out of luck. Win 7 doesn't have USB 3.0 drivers either and whether anything works properly was a lot in beta and could be trouble. Win 8 driver would likely be the best bet.

Hi All,I have a Lenovo W530 with windows 8 (x64) installed.I'm trying to setup a bluetooth speaker (Loewe speaker 2GO).Windows is able to see this bluetooth device and is able to pair. However, after a few seconds the connection is lost.Furthermore, when I go to devices -> Speaker 2GO -> Services, and try to check "Audio Sink, Handsfree telephony, Remote Control',I get the error: "The parameter is incorrect".I have:- installed the latest drivers from the Lenovo website: ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows 8 (32-bit , 64-bit) - ThinkPad ... Learn more Version: 12.0.0.6850- unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device" under device manager -> bluetooth -> Thinkpad bluetooth 4.0 -> Power Management What could be the cause for this error? Thanks for your time,Koen

Answer:Bluetooth speaker

Came across this post while searching the internet for a solution myself, as I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I have an in-built Broadcom BCM2046 Bluetooth adapter on my Sony Vaio and also bought a separate ASUS USB-BT-400 mini-dongle to try as an alternative but could still only pair the devices but not connect. No drivers were downloaded when I paired them and I got the same 'The parameter is incorrect' message when I tried to download the Services manually. I contacted Loewe who told me that the Speaker 2go isn't compatible with Windows 7 or 8. It may, however, be possible to connect the speaker to a laptop running these systems with some 3rd party Bluetooth adapters. Loewe couldn't offer advice on any specific models. I don't really have the time to keep buying and trying adapters so I think I'll have to just stick with using the AUX cable now!

Question: Bluetooth speaker

I just got Bluetooth speaker for the laptop with windows 8. It paired successfully, but sound still comes thru laptop but not Bluetooth speaker. Speaker works fine with my iPhone.

Answer:Bluetooth speaker

In order to answer your question, could you please provide information on which Bluetooth speaker you have tried to pair? It does not only depend on your computer and its OS, even though it works on your iPhone, it's also a matter of how good Bluetooth speaker you have and how it interacts with your computer.

This bargain Amp set has had trouble with the plug to the Woofer.
Too much wiggle and broken connections.
In fact though the connection was tidied and a new 4-pin DIN fitted.
The result is that sound is there on both Tweeters, but nothing comes out of the Woofer.
This is how it was when the owner dumped it on me, - he says.
As far as possible the coloured conductors were noted, but elder son whose amp this is admits he may have made a mistake at the start.
The various flexibles are all pretty well potted or hidden in some block and little shows.
Scouring the Net for pin-out marking of a Sony SIS-D21 shows lots of detail but none of any use identifying which wire goes where.
I can use a meter to try all sortsbut ifanyone can help, I will be really grateful.

Hi all,

I've just added an iHome iHC5 as a bluetooth device on my computer. The drivers installed successfully and I can see this device under "Devices and Printers" in the Control Panel (possibly relevant note: It is listed as a headset for unknown reasons). I cannot select the iHome to be my default speakers when I try to "Manage Audio Devices" in the Control Panel because it is not available. I also do not see this device in Device Manager. Under Bluetooth Radios in Device Manager, what I do see is the following:

Dell Wireless 355 Module with Bluetooth 2.0 and
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

When I go into Bluetooth Setting and attempt to "Connect" to the iHC5, it's there, but I am given an error message: "The parameter is incorrect."

With that, I'm all out of ideas. I'm just really hoping I don't have to uninstall and re-download the Bluetooth driver from the Dell website and remove and re-add the Bluetooth speakers because that's a nuisance. I've got a Dell XPS M1530 running Windows 7 64 bit.

Any thoughts? All ideas appreciated!

Oh and to add, I connected these speakers to my phone in like two seconds, so I know they work. I hope it's something simple that I'm missing on the computer....

Hi
I have a Pure Jongo S3 wireless speaker, it has a bluetooth dongle in the back, as does my laptop. Until recently, I was able to view the Jongo in "My Bluetooth Devices" and connect to it using A2DP and stream my laptop music to the speaker with no problems.
All of a sudden, I can no longer connect to the speaker. The laptop still detects the Jongo, and shows it as a device in "My Devices" but when I try to connect to it, a progress bar comes up, then disappears, having failed to establish a connection.
I know the speaker is working because I can connect by smartphone to it using bluetooth and stream music from my phone. I know that the bluetooth adaptor on the laptop is working too, because I can connect my phone to the laptop and stream/send files via bluetooth.
Given that both devices are physically working, I can only assume I have somehow messed up the software, or changed the settings.
I have updated all drivers for relevant devices and my laptop is fully updated. It is a HP Pavillion 15-n032sa running Windows 8.1. The bluetooth adaptor is an Inateck 4.0 USB (Model No. BTA-CSR4B5. I have re-installed all the software and drivers with no success.
Any ideas? All help very much appreciated.

Hi all,

I have a bluetooth audio transmitter which plugs in to a 3.5mm headphone jack of any audio device and is designed to transmit the sound to bluetooth headsets/speakers. I can get it to pair and connect automatically to my bluetooth headset and also an in-car bluetooth speaker (motorola t505) without any problem. However, I would like to be able to stream the audio from this device into my PC. However, I cannot get this device to be recognised when I try and pair/connect it to my PC. I am using a usb bluetooth dongle in my computer (no built in bluetooth) which uses the IVT Bluesoleil software/drivers.

Should it possible to use such a device in this way and if so, is it perhaps some sort of driver issue?

p.s I have also tried with a win 8.1 tablet and also an android tablet (both with built -in bluetooth) and cannot get it to be recognised by those either.

Many Thanks

My Chromebook is Bluetooth enabled and it pairs with my bluetooth speakers (Oontz Angle 3). However, after it pairs, the sound still comes out of the laptop's internal speakers. When I go into audio settings to switch this to the bluetooth speaker, the only Output option I have is Speaker (Internal). In other words, the computer will not let me switch even though I am paired. This happens with two separate speakers, so it is likely a Chromebook issue, not a bluetooth speaker issue. What can be done to fix the problem? I am using an Acer CB3-131 series chromebook. Chrome OS:Version 57.0.2987.146 (64-bit)Platform 9202.64.0 (Official Build) stable-channel gnawtyFirmware Google_Gnawty.5216.239.34

Thank you for your response. It turns out that after I had downloaded the Bluetooth Atheros update 8.0.1.305 from the Acer.com site and unzipped it, it, I didn't install it properly. Eventually I clicked on the Bluetooth Suite exe file and it installed the update into my computer and the speaker was able to connect. Everything is working fine now.Marg

I am trying to set volume (or mute/unmute) for a wireless Bluetooth speaker in an executable file that I could set as a scheduled task so that my wireless speaker will be silent until such time as the task is run. I have a stock market analyzer running at all times but I only want to hear alerts after 4am, so I really only want my wireless speaker to have volume after 4 am. Now I’m no tech guy so let me explain what I have tried so far and maybe someone could suggest something else to try.

I have tried using executable mixer or volume programs such as Mute, Wizmo, NirCmd, QuickMix, eeePC Wave Control App, etc. Then setting them to run via Scheduled Task. This works fine for the mixers relating to all of my other sound cards but will not work on the Bluetooth mixer.

The mixer associated with the wireless speaker only changes the volume in the “Wave” fader. The “Speaker” volume or “Mute all” have no effect on the wireless speaker. And conversely all of the above executable volume programs only have access to the “Speaker” channel. (they can access other channels for other soundcard mixers but not the Wireless mixer)

Now this is pure speculation on my part, but I think the fact that the wireless speaker itself has a wireless volume control is what blocks other programs from having access to the “Wave” channel. The speaker has a USB dongle that connects it to the comp... Read more

Hello, So I recently purchased a Bluetooth LED Light Bulb Speaker...(it looked interesting *shrugs*)
The sound is decent for what it is, I just have one problem. If I'm watching a video on YouTube for example and it's someone talking. When they stop talking and the begin to talk again there is a popping sound and a few milliseconds are cut off...almost as if the speakers went to power saving mode while no audio is playing. This happens if there is a couple seconds of no talking to one minute of no talking it doesn't matter. The Bluetooth LED Bulb itself has no settings I can mess with and I've searched threw settings within Windows 10. The Power Management for the Bluetooth itself is set to not go to sleep which I understand this is a different setting than the actual speaker. So I'm at a loss and don't know what to do.

Any Suggestions?

Have you updated your Bluetooth drivers? Does the speaker itself have a firmware update?

Is there any wireless speaker I can get for under $100 that will work reasonably. I bought a Jamparty $100 the other which I will return because it keeps loosing the radio coming from my phone app. For it to work you have to have the radio in direct line of sight and I do mean direct. I'm not sure of the distance requirement-probably 30' like the rest. With this one all you have to do to drop the radio station is put your body between the phone and the speaker...or just go around a corner in the house. The same thing happens if I play a recorded song from my library. As soon as you turn off the Jamparty speaker the phone reconnects the radio. If you read the reviews for this thing most give at least 4 stars-which I suspect are padded from the manufacturer. A few reviews talk about poor connectivity. In addition to the Jamparty I bought another Phillips wireless speaker which I will also return even thought I've not taken it out of the box. It was $100. The reviews are the same as for Jamparty. A friend has a Bose wireless speaker which was $300 and he can walk around the house without loosing the signal.

Hi everybody, and Happy Holidays,

I have a Micro Express desktop computer about one year old running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit), and it uses an Asus Z87-Deluxe motherboard. I am not a big audio buff, but I am tired of using my USB headphones just to occasionally listen to YouTube, etc. So, I am thinking about purchasing a Bluetooth speaker. I was researching them a bit and I read many issues about needing A2DP, and the lack of a Windows 7 driver for it. My questions are:

How do I know if I have A2DP?

Do Bluetooth speakers provide the required drivers?

Do I actually need A2DP?

Thank you all,

Argh. God. Man. Ach! This is killing me. Kill. Ing. Me.I have a new laptop - a Dell Lat E7250, Win 7-64.I have a Monster Superstar speaker. It does not connect with the Bluetooth on my laptop. It pairs, but only sporadically does it actually connect. The speaker connects automagically with my iPad, iPods, and Android phone. (In fact, if my iPod is in my briefcase and I turn the speaker on, it automatically reconnects). When I select "Show BT Devices" on my laptop, it shows the speaker under Devices. When I click on Services, it spins and spins and spins and comes back with "No available services."Occasionally, it will give me the option to click to connect to the speaker. I'd say it's about one in ten tries. It does not matter if I reboot, if I turn the speaker on and off, or if I do both. I have updated the drivers. It happens if I'm in active pairing mode on the speaker or not. What am I missing, what should I try? Thanks

Answer:Sporadic Bluetooth Speaker Connection

Here are some things you need to consider. The Dell website has a number of driver updates for your computer. However, you might have some trouble finding a 64-bit driver for the Bluetooth device that is built into your Dell laptop. And even if you do have the correct driver, your Bluetooth device built into the Dell laptop may be marginal. The fact that other devices you have worked well with your Bluetooth speakers would suggest that.So here is the quick and low-cost solution to your problem. You purchase a Bluetooth adapter that will work with your operating system and your laptop. These are available from online stores such as Amazon and nNew egg.A good quality Bluetooth to USB adapter should be under $20 for the generic variety. These often work as good or even better than the built-in devices in your Dell laptop. The other option the try to diagnose any possible problems with the built-in device, but that would be along and time-consuming process. That is why I think buying the external adapter is the best option at this point.Bluetooth does not require a lot of bandwidth and if your device is within then a short distance there should not be any connection problems at all. Sometimes Bluetooth receives interference from other devices, such as Wi-Fi routers. But if there's reasonable distance between your laptop and another Wi-Fi device this should not be a problem. In fact, a good Bluetooth device can operate on your laptop while the laptop is doing a Wi-Fi connection.... Read more

I have a brand new HP 17t laptop, that was customized back in Septmber 2014. I needed bluetooth, so i got that installed. My issue is, every bluetooth speaker I pair to my laptop it plays music but every few seconds or so it "skips" during playback. Turning off the bluetooth speaker, the built in speaker on my laptop (Beats Audio) plays great, no skipping. I thought maybe it was my internet, so i turned off wireless internet and just played a CD in my optical drive in my laptop, and the audio came through the built in speaker great, turned on bluetooth speaker, it skips again, without internet. Microsoft Bluetooth Enmerator and 2. Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. Hi @sreamer17ydr, Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are having issues with your Bluetooth speakers in terms of reliability. My first question to you is why do you want to use Bluetooth if you want reliable sound? Bluetooth like most wireless technologies can be affected by interference. Bluetooth also tends to function better with a clear line of site. the adaptor in your notebook supports a higher data transfer rate , but if the receiver is at a different Bluetooth level, you are possibly going to see some problems. As a start you can look at this.Understanding Bluetooth Wireless Technology Bluetooth is very useful but has its limitations. Hey guys,
I just bought a Bose SoundLink mini Bluetooth speaker and simply can't get it connected with my XPS 15 9550 / Windows 10 Pro. The pairing works, but the connection cannot be established. Hence it is shown in "Playback Devices" as disconnected. Also, under "Devices and Printers" the SoundLink appears and I can edit its properties but it's only paired and not connected. In the Windows Bluetooth manager it says something like "That didn't work. Please ensure that your bluetooth device can be found and try again".
I already uninstalled the bluetooth driver and reinstalled it (Killer Wireless-AC 1535 Bluetooth Driver). The other driver (Dell Wireless 1550/1560/1704/1708/1820A/1830 Bluetooth Driver) promts and error message when being installed but as far as I can see its not designed for XPS models anyway.
Would be really glad if someone is able to help me out here. Connecting via aux cable is not an option..
Cheers!

Have you tried turning off just Wi-Fi to see if it helps?
On the Settings-Devices-Bluetooth page, you can select the device and choose connect? Pay special attention to the tones generated during certain operations as they may give you a clue as to what is happening. Not all Bluetooth devices behave the same when pairing or connecting.

Hello all, I have NO idea if I am posting in the correct spot as this portal is very confusing when trying to find the group my product belongs to. If the moderators see this and its not in the correct location please post it in the right spot for me and send me a message detailing the move...thanks! OK I have a JBL Charge 2+ Bluetooth speaker that will not pair with my product [80QQ0060US 100-15IBD]. The laptop sees the speaker, but I get the message attached that it did not receive a reply from the speaker [see attached]. My phone connects fine to the laptop [although I cannot send files with the phone...just play audio from the phone]. Anyone know what's going on...or NOT going on with this issue?

Can i do this from Windows 8? I've heard there might be a 2 second delay! Thanks

Answer:Bluetooth speaker and speakers simultaneously?

Windows will only allow one default playback device. If the Bluetooth is set as the default audio playback device, that is all you will get. There MAY be some third party application that allows more than one, but I don't know of any.

Hi all, I have a problem with my HP Envy 6 1201sq laptop. I can make it to connect to my bluetooth speaker, and the speaker is visible under "Devices and Printers" but I can not play music through it. The services enabled for this speaker are "Audio Sink" "Handsfree Telephony" and "Headset". Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Catalin.

Some details: I had trouble keeping it connected at first due to having a metered connection. I turned that off, and it seemed to stay connected. However, there was no sound. Then it showed that it was connected in the bluetooth options, but in the sound controls, it showed that it was not. I restarted the service, but nothing happened. I had tried to make my pc show that it was an available device or available to see if that would help, but it didn't. earlier, i had done that, then turned that off, and the speaker was connected. Does that option that broadcasts the notebook's name need to remain on? what do i need to do? i currently have the service stopped since the laptop keeps looking for devices even when bluetooth is off (ever since pairing). I don't want to do that, and i don't want to keep broadcasting my laptop over bluetooth. I am also over a public wifi network. Bluetooth does not seem to work without wifi on my laptop, why is that?when i had a palm pilot, i could use bluetooth without wifi. on my phone, i can use it without wifi. Please help me figure out whatever i am missing here. The laptop also sometimes won't let me change whether or not to show it to other devices in order to connect to bluetooth. i just want to connect to the speaker so i can play podcasts and listen to them in another room from itunes. i currently am using another thread to try and figure out how to update my bluetooth driver... I'm trying to use an external Bluetooth speaker with an x131e (intel) Thinkpad w/ Windows 8.1 and failing to get it to work.I've tried (and failed) with two Bluetooth speaker options: an "HMDX Jam Party" and a "Nyrius Songo HiFi" receiver connected to a sound system. Both connect just fine with a Blackberry Q10 and and iPhone 5s. Both units appear as Bluetooth devices in the Windows 8.1 -> PC Settings -> PC and Devices -> Bluetooth and when I can select either device and choose PAIR it claims to pair with the device (connected) even though the speakers do not acknowledge being connected. When I go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers the "Jam Party" speaker is listed and via right-clicking the icon I get to its properties menu which shows that all the services are enabled. But the speaker does not connect. In the Control Panel -> Sound menu it's listed as "Headphones" Bluetooth Hands-free Audio followed on the next line by the work "Disconnected" and beside the headphones icon there's a small down-pointing RED arrow. Returning to the Windows 8.1 PC and Devices -> Bluetooth screen I see that the device is now listed as "Disconected".During all of this the speaker continues to flash it's blue light trying the finalize the connection. But it never connects.I've never used Bluetooth with this laptop so I'm wondering if everything is properly installed. I did confirm that "ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II" is installed and that it's versio... Read more

hi there,

my USB external speaker and USB bluetooth adapter (for my plantronics headset) is not working. I believe this had to do me removing a critical program (from add/remove programs) about half a year ago - i can no longer do a system recovery to retrieve the program. I'm currently operating on windows 7x64-bit. all drivers are up to date and working. the usb drives work fine - i've tried testing each slot by connecting my external mouse and all seems functional. it's only when i plug in the external speaker or usb bluetooth adapter that things go wrong - see screen shots below. my internal speaker and internal mic work perfectly fine. it appears to be only an issue with usb audio-related devices. these devices work with other systems and computers, so i know that it is not the device itself. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling conexant audio, but that did not work. i've gone into the device manager and all looks ok there. i've disabled and renabled, updated all drivers, and still nothing....any help would be much appreciated.

Laptop: Lenovo T410s

thanks so much for any help or guidance you can provide.

Answer:USB Speaker & USB Bluetooth Adapter Not Working

Connect the devices, one at a time. Then go to the Device Manager and display the USB section. There will probably be an Unknown device shown. If there is, RIGHT click on the entry to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall" (do not uninstall any drivers). Disconnect the device from the PC after the Uninstall. Then do the same thing for the other USB device. Restart the PC and then connect one of the devices and Windows should detect it as "new hardware" and install it. If not, run sfc /scannow (run it 3 times) and see if it finds any problem from whatever you may have deleted.

Hi,
I'm trying to connect my Windows 10 HP Pavillion X2 to my external bluetooth speaker. It connects fine but there is no audio playing through it. The audio continues to play through the laptops own speakers. Pressing buttons on the external speaker controls my music playing software so I know it's connected in some way.
The last time I connected the speaker a couple of weeks ago I was getting full bluetooth audio playback and I havent changed anything since then.
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be happening?
Cheers

Answer:PC Won't link with Bose bluetooth speaker

I was able to get it to discover the speaker by resetting the bose speaker--holding the mute button for 10-12seconds. Then powering speaker back on.

Hi all, today I received my JBL Charge 2+ portable speakers which work fantastically out of the box with my Samsung S5 Mini. Unfortunately, that is not the case with my Lenovo Y50-70 running Windows 10 I can connect to the speakers but the sound stutters. Sometimes the sound is good but then it will start to stutter only minutes later again. I have installed the latest BIOS update and Bluetooth drivers. Also I checked that its not a microwave / smartphone / Wi-Fi device that causes signal interference. The speaker lies next to the laptop. I tried to run Bennett to check the Bluetooth signal strength but that does not work (signal strength: n/a). Any idea what causes the stuttering? Do you think its a hardware or software problem on my laptop? Or are the devices incompatible? (I didn't expect any incompatibilities as my Y50-70's built-in speakers are from JBL, too) Thanks in advance!

I've got very little experience with anything bluetooth so: I bought a Soundlogic XT Bluetooth Shower Speaker and it paired with my PC fine. But the speaker does not show up as an option in my audio control panel. How do I silence my laptop speakers while enabling the bluetooth speaker. Laptop is HP2000-299WM and did not have bluetooth from the factory. I'm using a Insignia Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter - Model: NS-PCY5BMA
