Preferred Solution: Touch screen does not respond after upgrade to Windows 10

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Touch screen responds with no reason. The left side of touch screen (side with window icon) suddenly respond like someone's finger sweeps on that edge (up and down fast and repeatedly). I al so have the record video but I cannot upload it here. The touchscreen response went on and on none stop and uncontrolable clicked on several things so I had to restart the machine then it gone. These have happened so many time. No dust or scratch on the touch screen or touch pad to cause that response. I just brought it a month ago when I was in Thailand. Now I stay in US. Could you recommand anything except sending the laptop back to Thailand.

Hi. Been loving the surface 3. However sometimes the device does not trigger an event with windows even though visually the touchscreen is clearly giving an indication there has been event triggered! This can be a real nuisance particularly in regards to the show all programs side bar introduced in windows 10. Sometimes it simply does not respond to any gestures at all. I almost feel I'm digressing there as that is another problem in itself. To cut a long story short sometimes the surface 3 is not recognising simple touch commands even though it is registering them. Why?

Answer:Sometimes the surface 3 does not respond to touch even though the screen suggests it does. Why?

I have the same thing on my Surface 3 with Windows 10. Touching a tile will make it animate/ fade but the program doesn't open. I've noticed similar behaviour in the keyboard word picker when typing too, and touching links in Edge. It's a bit annoying, but with everything else behaving ok I've tended to shrug it off as one of those things that'll eventually get fixed, most likely by a driver update at some point.

Hi

I've just acquired a Satellite R10-101 Laptop/Tablet.

The machine did not come with a touch pen so I am unsure if the touch screen is working or not.

When the machine is in tablet mode the touch screen does not respond to any touch with a finger. I have tried a pointing device from a hand held Windows CE device that has a touch screen but this does not work on the R10's touch screen.

Does the touch screen need to be enabled or do I need to obtain a Toshiba Touch Pen?

The machine is running Windows XP Tablet Edition. Will I get the same functionally if I upgrade to Windows 7. Is the R10's hardware compatible with Win 7?

Thanks for any help or advice.

Joe

Answer:Satellite R10-101: touch screen does not respond in tablet mode

Hi

The display panel works as a touch sensitive digitizer screen.
You need the Tablet Pen in order to use the touch display in tablet mode.

I think that you can order the missing tablet pen from Toshiba authorized service partner in your country or google for the part numbers: P000407550 or P000445420

Hi there!

Since i installed 10 i have lost the touch screen (not that i ever used it) and was just wondering if there was a fix for it? Also compatability issues with some of the apps such as Lenovo Eye Distance sensor. I run a compatibility check, it says it's fixed and sure enough it's working, but when i fire up the computer again it's the same again!

I also found out that this version apparently is not supproted in 10 by Lenovo, so why the heck did it allow the upgrade?! I do like 10 and was just wondering if half this Lenovo crap could be uninstalled anyway... would my computer survive without it?
Most of the Lenovo stuff does appear to be working but when i proceeded with a request to upgrade drivers using Lenovo Companion (which i thought would solve the touch screen problem) it appeared to search for upgrades then notified Updates: Never.

So if i can't ever get upgrades for the Lenovo crap where does that leave me? I might just as well try and uninstall most of it... What are your thoughts?!

Regards, Steve.

I updated windows 7 to windows 10.After the update I started experiencing issues with touch screen. It starts working fine, but about 30 seconds later the touch screen stops responding.  Disabling any of the HID drivers and enabling them, reenables the touch screen for another 30 seconds I tried removing the HID drivers, all of themi went to services.msc and set the process to automatic. This did not fix the issue. Hello Everybody,
I have a Latitude E7440 non touch screen version that needs a complete new display assembly due damage. I was wondering if it is possible to fit a complete touch screen assembly as a replacement? I noticed that the back shell of the touch assembly is slightly different and I guess the whole structure is heavier than the non-touch version.
Many thanks,
Viktor

Answer:E7440 upgrade from non-touch to touch screen

It is possible - but everything north of the base/keyboard needs to be replaced -- upper structure, bezel, screen, cables, antenna wires and hinges.

Hi everyone,  I am currently using a Lenovo T450s with the default screen option when checking out. I would like to upgrade to a touch screen. I would like to ask if:- the upgrade from non-touch to touch screen is possible?-where could I buy the touch screen for the laptop? would this one work? https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-T450S-Touch-Screen-04X5911/dp/B01H0NKM5W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=147986... - where could i the basic guide to do it by myself? The most important question that I think is the first one: whether it is possible to upgrade from a non-touch to touch screen on T450s. I look forward to hearing all the suggestions.Thank you.

Hello All - I just noticed that my multi-touch (not enhanced multi-touch) screen no longer responds to finger touch; just pen. It used to respond to both before i upgraded to Windows 7.I tried the Lenovo diagnostic check for the touch screen, and during the test, it only responded to the pen. What should I do? Is there a certain driver i'm missing or need to uninstall and then re-install?Thanks in advance.

Answer:Post Windows 7 Upgrade - Touch Panel Not Responding to Finger Touch (x200t)

Ok...I think i really screwed something up. As per a Lenovo support tech's advice, i installed the Windows 7 "Enhanced" Multi-touch Driver, even though i do not have the enhanced multi-touch screen, and this is what it says on Lenovo's site about this new driver: "*1: ThinkPad X200 Tablet models with the Multitouch are NOT supported." "*1: ThinkPad X200 Tablet models with the ENHANCED Multitouch ARE supported." So, i go ahead and install it. I notice that finger touch now works, but the pen setting are now all screwed up! The eraser no longer responds when i turn the pen around to erase. It actually INKS with the eraser as well! OneNote no longer automatically starts inking (or erasing) when i bring the pen (or eraser) into range. I have to manually click on the pen icon (or the eraser icon) on the tool bar to use these functionalities! *groan* In the Tablet PC Input Panel: no eraser functionality (it inks instead!!) and even the button on the pen (which previously had the right-click ability) only inks when pressed down! I think i made my situation worse...Please Help! Adam

I am one of the early adopter that bought the crappy 1080p touch TN panel. Now seeing that the 4k touch panel is superior, I would like my screen to be replaced. The question is , would the 4k touch panel physically fit the frame the came with 1080p panel (direct subtitute)? 4k replacement touch panel is not available for sale right now but maybe in a year or so when it is popular I will definitely consider doing that.Thanks.

Hi all, First of all, I know there were already 2 topics regarding this issue, but I have to create this topic because those 2 topics were marked 'Solved' and the solution there were not helping in my case at all. Symtoms:- In the beginning, it worked well even after upgraded to Windows 8.1, after some point, touch screen did not work anymore- There was a time that the touch did not work, I had to open the laptop 360 degrees, then put it back to normal so touch can work, but now it didn't fix the situation anymore- In 'Control Panel\System and Security\System', it shows that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display"- In Device Manager, there is only 1 USB Input Device in Human Interface Devices (Hardware ID is USB\VID_2047&PID_0855)- There is no unidentified or conflicted devices What I have tried:- Install all Lenovo's drivers- Install old Intel Graphic driver- Reinstall windows 8.1- Reinstall windows 8- Disabled and enable all HID and USB devices- I lost the backup partition somehow so I cannot use OneKey Recovery Could anybody help me with this? I really appreciate all your help! I believe that there are many people had the same problem like me and have nowhere to turn to. Hope this can help them as well if it is solved!

Hi everyone,
I have a 1.5 year old Dell Latitude 3540 laptop, which I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (from 8.1 Pro). It has a non-touch screen.
For some reason, Windows 10 sometimes thinks it has a touch screen. It then shows the icon for the touch keyboard at the bottom right corner, and when going to Settings->System->About, under "Pen and Touch" it says "Touch support with 2 touch points".
This doesn't really bother me, as it doesn't seem to actually influence anything important. But still, seems pretty strange.
Did anyone else here experience something similar?
Thanks!

I got a Chuwi Vi10 2 in 1. It is a Chinese brand. Intel Z3736F based. It is dual booting android and windows and the touch works in Android so it is not a hardware problem. It also worked in w8.1.

When I press on the screen it detects the press at a completely different side of the screen. I tried to calibrate but it doesn't register my presses right. Tried to uninstall the driver for the touch screen but windows installs the same one again.

I cannot downgrade to 8.1 because it seems it deleted all of 8.1.

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Inspiron 5559 upgrade to touch screen?

Sure. Go to support.dell.com, select that system model, and go to Manuals > Service Manual (PDF). That has instructions for how to remove and replace the display, so then you'd just of course need to buy the correct display for your system that meets your needs, which you can probably do on eBay or even through Dell Spare Parts.

I hope someone here can help me out. What I have cobbled together is a CCTV system that I want to make even better.I have a CCTV image going into a DVR. It then goes to my lap top for viewing. What I'd like to do is perhaps send the image to a small computer or tablet first if needed, and then to a touch screen monitor where I can annotate or circle a portion of the live image ( or frozen ) very much like you see during a sporting game. Team members movements, etc. This system is used in the field and I'd like to keep it as portable as possible. Is there just software I need to obtain,a pre-fab monitor that has this feature,or what are my options?Thank you for your help as I need to find a good working answer.

Answer:I need help with an upgrade to a touch screen monitor function?

A way to do it with a frozen image would be a screenshot and then mspaint which with a touch screen would be able to draw on the screenshot in say a yellow paint brush to mimic what you see on football games when they show the plays on TV.Without lots of programming, I am unaware of any software out there that is free or low cost that gives this feature to home users without the mimic of a screenshot opened in mspaint and touch screen controlling the paintbrush. To get the screenshot you can have live video feed and press the ( Print SCRN ) button to grab a snapshot of the screen, and then create a shortcut on the desktop to mspaint and launch that and paste the screenshot to paint and then you can write on it with paintbrush with finger and a touch display. To make it more advanced you could use a macro creator to turn a hot key on your computer, a key you might not use on a regular basis such as tilde key ( ~ ) into a capture, launch mspaint, and paste the image to paint a 1 keystroke feature.Maybe others here have a better method, but thats all I can come up with. As far as the laptop getting the video feed from CCTV and being mobile, you would have to go with wireless transmission of video and you would be limited to range, and the cost would be expensive. Cheapest would be a camera rolling that is attached to the laptop to USB and grabbing a still of it and drawing on that such as if your out in a field and took an image of it and wanted to draw and point out where for peo... After a Win 8.1 Upgrade, I had no touch screen function. Calls to Lenovo led nowhere Same with searching Microsoft boards. I fixed the issue on Sunday 6/1- No help from Lenovo or Microsoft. For me it was finding two "Unknown Devices" in the HID section of Device Manager which did not have drivers installed. After researching and determining that Win 8.1 will not allow unsigned device drivers, and also seeing the "Update Driver" option failing because the drivers on the laptop that fit the problem were getting an 'INF unsigned driver error', I went through the steps to allow unsigned drivers... Charm Bar>Settings>Change PC Settings>Update and Recovery>Recovery>Advanced Startup>-Restart> Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Settings> Restart and then Chose #7>Allow Unsigned Device Drivers and Restart again... then Updating the two Unknown Devices with the drivers already on the Twist.... and voila- the errors disappeared and the touchscreen returned to full function.I don't know if this happened to many people, but Lenovo had no idea what to do. They wanted me to ship them the laptop and allow them to roll it back to Windows 8. Posting here to distribute it to a larger audience. Maybe someone at Microsoft should call Lenovo too or Lenovo should call Microsoft. The Twist is a great laptop with Win 8.1 when everything works the way it should.

Brand new AIO, touch screen worked great under Windows 8.  Stopped working after upgrade to 8.1.  Lenovo phone support of no help.  They say, "Reinstall Windows and delete all your data and don't upgrade to 8.1!!!"  LOL, really?  When my customer said no, they said, we will send a tech out to "REPLACE the SCREEN!!!"  LOL  Wow!! Problems I've found that keep reverting are:1 - Services, "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" keeps reverting back to "Manual" startup and "not running" after reboots.  (after I've changed it to "automatic" )2 - Registry show "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TabletInputServices" Start key keeps reverting back to 3 (manual) after I changed it to 2 (automatic)3 - Under Device Manager, Many hidden Human Interface devices are grayed out as not connected.4 - Customer is not happy and Synnex is out of stock and can't replace it promptly.  This is really looking bad for Lenovo.  Their phone support hasn't a clue how to fix this problem! Anyone else have this problem?  Anyone actually succcessfully fixed this problem? type: 10ACModel: 0011US Thanks!

hi all,

im not an avid touch screen user ... i use it scarcely when needed or when the mouse battery dies in the middle of my work and i have to continue with the screen.

when i first bought my PC it was win8 and all worked fine... until yesterday and after about 2-3 months since i upgraded to win10, i realized the touch screen isn't working!!!!

i looked up the forum for any leads on this issues and i saw a lot are complaining about function keys being un-usable after the win10 upgrade. however i dont have that problem. only the screen got the touch element rendered un-usable.
probably, during win10 upgrade the system decided to disable this feature so no accidental touch on the screen could interrupt the upgrade process...

if anyone is aware of this problem and how to fix it ... i would truly be thankful.

thanks

Hello, I am running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo B250-7745-2HU. I just successfully upgraded to 16GB of RAM from the stock 6GB. The RAM installation appears successful and is recognized in the "computer properties".  Before the installation, the touchscreen worked just fine. Now, the touchscreen does not work at all. Can anyone suggest some troubleshooting steps, or thoughts on how to restore touchscreen functionallity? Best Regards, Adam

I have a Flex 3 1120 that had a catastrophic HD failure.  I upgraded to a 500 GB SSD but chose not to clone the old drive. Instead I opted for fresh install of Windows 10 Home from USB.  I installed as many drivers as needed (copied from the Lenovo partition).  The computer is running fine except there is no HID-compliant touch screen device in Device Manager any  Therefore, the touch screen no longer works. I'm out of warranty and cannot find an appropriate driver to enable this much needed feature again.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I have been running windows seven for a month or two now. recently I've noticed a quark. I normally run my computer 24/7 so i set it to turn the screen off after 20 min. sometimes but not alway after i turn the screen back on and move the mouse i get an image and the mouse moves but nothing will respond for up to 90 sec. after that everything works fine. i place the mouse over an icon and when i see the icon light up i can start using my computer. at first i thought that maybe it's stopping my HDD so i went into power setting and switched to performance and then manually went in and set HDD of time to zero (never) no change

running
asus m2n32 delux mobo
amd athlon x2 5200
2 gig of gskill memory
nvidia gtx 260
2 1T HDD

any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. this prob isn't detrimental just very annoying.

I purchased a new HP Envy with windows 8.1.64 and a Pavilion 23tm monitor.  I have installed the drivers for the monitor but the monitor still will not respond to touch.  I went online and downloaded the drivers off the HP website just in case they were more up to date than what came with the monitor.  But it still is not working as a touchscreen like it's supposed to.  Any ideas?

Answer:Pavilion 23tm monitor doesn't respond to touch

I just went through two rounds of technicians updating drivers.  Enabling and disabling devices.  Nothing seemed to help.  I notified the techicians I was connected via a HDMI cable.  Windows reported no touch input available on this computer.  In the System Information screen. I suddenly realized, hey, didn't this monitor come with a USB cable?  Plugged it in, and it started working after a re-boot.  Duh.  None of the technicians asked about the usb cable.  They concluded it was a bad monitor.

Hi there @jwpeart, May the Forums be with you!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.  I understand that you are trying to get your touch screen to work with your desktop system.  I am happy to help with this. Please post the full product number and operating system in use on your computer. Just bought the Satellite U500 a couple of weeks ago.
All the illumination buttons on the top all work besides the minus volume button.
I can increase the volume but can decrease it
Is that part of the sensor broken?

While I?m here does anyone know which face recognition programme that just has the cameraon and detects your face automatically?
I?ve seen in at the shops where greeb squares detect you face.
I downloaded the Toshiba one but you have to move your head horizontally and doesn?t detect it automatically

Thanks

Answer:One of touch keys on my Satellite U500 doesn'respond

hi Layzie,
i think the sounddriver is corrupted - reinstall it and test it.

sure there is softeware around that can detect the face of a user - mainly for vista.
which os you are using?

the software is called "face recognition" - look for it on the download page of toshiba.
with this software a registered user (you have to train the software first) can log on system without entering a password.3

Gday all.
Just curious on 2 upgrades. I am looking to see if a Touch Screen is available and/or if the GPU is upgradeable. I notice that my Ram/CPU usage isnt fully used when I play games but my GPU is.I play games such as CS:GO (Counterstrike Global Offense), Rust and rocket league. They dont run too badly, but I'd prefer a better frame rate. I currently am using a Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 Series laptop.
Specs:
 - i7 6500U 2.5Ghz,  2.6Ghz turbo
 - 8Gb Ram (DDR3 I believe, speed im unsure of)
 - R5 M335
 - Windows 10 64-Bit
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do believe the model is a 5559 however not too sure, as for some reason it doenst describe it on the box etc.... However I do know the MPN.

Answer:Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 Touch Screen!?!? GPU Upgrade? CPU Possible Bottleneck?

The GPU is not upgradeable - it's a chip soldered to the mainboard.
The screen is technically upgradeable, but the cost of upgrading will likely approach or exceed 50% of the original cost of the system, as the entire top half of the system need to be replaced.

Satellite P750-115 Part Number: PSAY3E-02E002EN

That is the laptop that I have recently bought about a month ago. The touch buttons above the keyboard no longer respond at all. I have tried to reinstall the VAP in the hope that this would resolve this problem, however, the buttons still remain unresponsive.

Can you help solve this problem?

Answer:Satellite P750-115 - Multimedia touch buttons no longer respond

Hey,

What operating system is installed at the moment? Do you use the preinstalled OS from Toshiba or another one?

The touch buttons are controlled by Value Added Package. Usually if you reinstall the package they should work again especially the recovery image from Toshiba is installed.

Have you checked the BIOS if there is an option for illuminated buttons? You should set them to enabled and also load the default settings.

So I have a small 10" touch screen as a secondary screen and it is recognized and installed when I plug it in the computer. My problem is that the actual touching is severly misplaced and I can notuse the calibration tool (Tablet PC Settings in control panel) to correct this problem. It is as if the vertical and horisontal inputs of the screen has been swapped. If I touch the right side on the screen and drag my finger to the left I can see the cursor go from the top to the bottom and if I touch the top and drag down the cursor goes from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen.Installing the drivers from the manufacturer of the touch controller, http://www.eeti.com, did not help at all. It just says there are no touch controllers connected to my computer. Is there a way I can correct this problem?

I have a hp pavilion touchsmart 15-n029so. Unfortunately my touch screen is defect, so 5-6 points on the screen is constant active. Until recently I managed to disable the driver for only the touch driver (not the screen) through device manager, but then a lately update for windows 10 activated the driver again. So now the 5-6 points is constant active, and I cannot login because the screen will not focus on the login field.  This means I cannot login to windows 10. I am using the ideapad z400 touch and have been upgraded to windows 10. "Intel graphics card => I reinstalled the windows 8.1 driver from lenovo site", and my brightness problem is solved. I am facing the problem with the intel HD graphics 4000 display driver that I install from lenovo site. The driver seems like not fully compatible with windows 10. My screen will turn off after 5 minutes and when I move the mouse to wake it up I face the problem, the screen will freeze for a while and start to wake up and showed me the message "intel display driver.....has stopped responding and has recovered" This happens everytime after my screen turn off. Besides, my pc can't go to sleep mode. Hi, Try the following. First, download the Synaptics software installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72001-72500/sp72344.exe Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall. When this has completed, restart the notebook. When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again. Open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.  From the new layout, select the Synaptics entry and check that the scrolling options are checked and Save any change - see the image below.  Regards, DP-K

Upgrading from Windows 8.1 (touch working) to Windows 10 I lost touch functionality. I've tried replacing the LCD myself after cracking the first one just to verify the ribbons were connected behind the LCD assembly (factory tape/glue is holding them down). I haven't tried ordering the Windows 8.1 Restore CDs and rolling back. I can confirm it's not a hardware issue. I'm guessing it's firmware related. Similar to the Yoga touch problems Lenovo's been having and those users upgrading to Windows 10. Checking the forums it looks like updates have been hit or miss. I've tried downloading Windows Tab Installer Package, the Yoga LCD Firmware Updates (unable to pass hidident.exe to update), downloading the SCCM package and looking for any type of installer and none's available. Leaning towards a firmware incompatibility. Can anyone at Lenovo confirm this for me? I can understand the 20AQ had a limited run compared to 20AR (non touch) and the Yoga Series. Still it'd be nice to have someone confirm. It's a shame the laptop is only a few years old. If there's a beta firmware package for the touch digitizer I'd be happy to try. Intermittent response would be better than none. Thanks all,

Hello, I know lots of people have been having sound difficulties after upgrading to Windows 8.1 and there's lots of different 'fixes' floating about the internet. None of them have worked for me so far, so I'm appealing for help here. Before the upgrade, I never had any sound problems. Since then, the audio usually (though not always) seems to work fine when I first boot up Windows, but after a little while the sound just disappears. There are no error messages and no indication on the Device/Driver manager that anything is wrong - the sound simply just stops working. If I navigate through to 'Playback Devices', select the speakers, click 'configure' and then 'test', I get the error message 'Failed to play test tone'. Audio files, for example an mp3 in itunes, simply won't open and play (even silently). I've updated to the latest 8.1 Conexant drivers via the Lenovo support website, and it hasn't solved it, even after multiple reinstalls. I've tried uninstalling all audio drivers, and then letting Windows find them automatically when I boot up, and it hasn't solved it. On a side note, I've also noticed that even when the audio is working for a short while after first booting up, the 'test' function on the speakers configuration doesn't work quite right - the left speaker makes a clear sound, but the right one only a very brief one before stopping. What's going on with 8.1 and audio, and why hasn't Microsoft or Lenovo issued a fix yet? If anyone has any idea... Read more

Answer:Audio problems after Windows 8.1 upgrade - U410 touch

Hi Jjs1,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that the Audio is not working as expected after upgrading to Windows 8.1, as per the Update consideration document all the drivers should be updated to latest version and then Windows 8.1 should be updated this will resolve most if the compatibility issue. Below is the links with steps and information to upgrade the OS (Operating System), hence I suggest you to restore the computer to Windows 8 and then follow the instruction provided in the update link:

Further to upgrading to W10 from W7 (on a W7 OS) my mouse touch pad has stopped scrolling. I've checked the drivers are up to date and yesterday I went through every single driver and downloaded everything that was out of date.

If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad and the drivers are here Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad Drivers Download for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP if it helps to locate the actual item I'm using.

Thank you.

I have upgraded my Samsung drivers and it has a settings icon. When I click that I chose input and then turn on touch. However, a message comes up that says save settings and reboot user ...ok or cancel. I click ok and it reboots my logon but then when I look at settings turn on touch input is still on off. grrr wasted all day on this and still no touch screen only able to use mouse and keyboard. Please help anyone? Has it anything to do with the graphics driver? is yes how can I fix that. Thanks

Answer:Touch input not working on Samsung after windows 8 upgrade from 7

what model Samsung do you have? That way we can find which drivers you need. Did you upgrade to Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and how did you perform the upgrade? From a disk, via USB, did you buy a physical disk or did you get the upgrade from a download?

I previously had Win 8.1 installed on my Yoga 3 1470 and everything worked fine.  I then upgraded to Windows 10. After the Windows 10 upgrade, I installed the latest Windows Updates and installed the latest driver updates from the Lenovo web site. Now, the computer works ok, except for the touch screen--which doesn't work at all. If I go to Device Manager, under Human Interface Devices, touch screen isn't listed at all. If I go to Settings, About, under "Pen and Touch", it says "no pen or touch input is available for this display". What else should I check to get my touch screen back and working?

Answer:Yoga 3 1470 Touch does not work at all after Windows 10 Upgrade

[Edit]  This seems to have fixed the problem: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-3-14-inch-Touch-Screen-Issues/m-p/216...   Original post: Same laptop and same problem (I realize my signature indicates a ThinkPad W520 but I also have the Yoga 3).  The touchscreen worked fine after upgrading to Windows 10 then stopped working a few days ago.  I believe this is the same problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/touch-screen-not-working-on-win... On that page scroll down to see people with a Yoga 3 describing the same problem, here's the relavent message: Also have a Yoga 13 and am having the exact same problem, my System Info also shows the same message, "No pen or touch input is available for this display".  The touch screen worked fine after the initial Windows 10 upgrade then after an update about a week ago it stopped working.  I uninstalled some recent Windows updates through the control panel but that did not help.  There is one update (KB3081452) that I can't uninstall (the uninstall button disappears when I select that update), based on the date of the installation for that update it's around the time the touchscreen stopped working but I can't uninstall it to test if that's the problem. In Device Manager (you have to View-->Show hidden devices) under Human Interface Devices, most of the entries ("HID-compliant device", "HID-compl... All in all my upgrade to Windows 8 was almost perfect, if it wasn't for a single driver which is causing the touchpad not to work with all its functionality as it should. While installing the driver provided by Lenovo for Windows 8 for the Touchpad, I'm getting an error that states the following: 64bit Package should be installed on this system, ask your provider for the proper installer.  So now, I have checked everywhere on Lenovo Website and I only found just one driver for Touchpad, there is no specification whatsoever related 32 or 64 bit version. Lenovo / anyone that might have the 64 driver, please provide link to download the actual driver that would work for IdeaPad z480 Thanks!

Hi, I'm currently run Windows 8.1 Touch on my ASUS VivoBook X202E system. I've upgraded to SSD a few years ago.
I'm running Ubuntu along side Win 8.1. It works great and I like this setup.
I believe I'll want to prep the system before downloading and upgrading by removing fast boot & secure boot. I'm thinking the upgrade will overwrite my MBR and cause it to just boot to Windows 10? The reason I say this is because that's what it did when I upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1. I had to use Boot-Repair to get the dual boot to work again. I'm also pretty certain that the Ubuntu I'm running (14.04) is compliant with UEFI. I could verify this but I don't have my laptop on me ATM.

So, my question is twofold, has anyone performed an upgrade from 8.1 to 10 under a dual boot setup? And, if so, any issues with the touch screen interface or dual boot? Thanks for any ideas or tips before I "pull the trigger"

Answer:U430 touch : keyboard and touchpad not working after Windows 8.1 upgrade

hi pillet,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

To verify the Touchpad / Keyboard functionality, can you try to:
1. Hold the power button until the computer turns off
2. Press the OneKey Recovery (Novo) button and try to choose choose System Recovery using the arrow keys (this will also check if the keyboard is working)

- Link to picture
- Link to picture

3. In Recovery Environment. you can test if the Touchpad is working by clicking on some options or by just simply moving the mouse

If the keyboard/mouse still doesn't work, I recommend you contact Lenovo and report the issue.

Regards

I just encountered this problem, it seems like an issue with the touch screen driver. When a monitor is connected via VGA and that monitor is made the primary display, whenever I touch the laptop screen, the click indication appears on the wrong monitor. Is there a driver update that fixes this? Who should be notified? What company made/supports the touch screen?

Answer:W510 touch registers on wrong monitor when touch screen not primary display

hey MRX,regarding this, really hard to say what could be the cause.curious to know, the external monitor which you are using, did it by any chance some with its own drivers ? also have you tried reversing and placing the external monitor as the primary ? does it make any difference?

Hi, I have the Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch, new as of april 2014, and since last week, the touch screen has stopped responding to touch inputs. Before this it has been working and behaving perfectly. I have tried to turn the laptop entirely off and on, reboots... No effect. The screen simply acts like it never was touch. The HID driver is present and claims to be working. I tried to reinstall it and it does so with no errors or warnings. I also tried to reinstall the monitor and graphics card drivers. The Tablet control panel icon offers a calibrate option but Reset is disabled. The calibrate doesn't help because it doesn't respond to touch. System says it has touch with 10 finger inputs. Windows 8.1 Update 1, Enterprise SKU Any advice is welcome. UPDATE! Touch works when I lay the screen out flat. But if I return it to any angle, it stops working. Is this related to LayFlat mode or is there a connection fault in the display for touch input so only when I lay it flat it has contact? Software or hardware?

I have ThinkPad X230 Tablet. It used to have non-functioning touch screen. I did something, and now the screen responds to pen input, but it doesn't work properly for finger touch. When I touch with finger, only thing it does is minimize or maximize window. When I change position of taskbar (with start menu and icons), it doesn't maximize/minimize.  I think this means that when I touch with finger, cursor clicks at bottom right corner of display, where there is button for maximize/minimize window

Received my ThinkPad Yoga today - i7 ? 8 Gb - 256 Gb SSD - Win 8.1 pro ? One major problem ? the touch screen stops responding to finger intermittently. It always responds to the stylus. Updated all the Lenovo drivers and did Windows updates. When it stops responding, the only way to get it to work is by doing a shut down ( restart does not work ). Read the forums and disabled and enabled HID-compliant vendor-defined device. That did not make any difference. Is this a common issue and is there a software fix for it or is it just a faulty screen?

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 20CDCTR1WW - Touch Screen not responding to touch - intermittent

Hi Waferthin,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that you are facing the issue with Touch screen on ThinkPad Yoga.

To resolve the issue please follow the below troubleshooting steps.

Remove the Wacom touch gesture driver in the device manager and make sure to check "uninstall driver" when you do so otherwise the touch will stop working again a minute later.
And after that restart the system and the touch screen driver will automatically install.
In services.msc restart human interface device service to run automatically.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Hemanth Kumar

Hi I bought a Acer ICONIA 6120 Dual Touch Screen Laptop in 2011 when I was in US. I returned to India in 2011. In 2014 the bottom touch screen virtual key board started mal-functioning. The keys will automatically click making it unable to use. I gave it to a local technician he disabled the bottom touch screen. He also said the Hard Drive is corrupted needs replacement. He replaced with a new 500GB hard drive. While replacing it he changed the Windows 7 home premium to Windows 7 ultimate. From then on we were using it with a wireless key board. Now I am trying to repair the laptop. 1) Where can get 14" bottom touch screen so that I can buy and install 2) Where can get the recovery disks along with windows 7 home premium Thanks in advance for your help

Answer:Acer ICONIA 6120 Dual Touch Screen - Bottom Touch ...

I suggest that you first try to recover the laptop to factory-fresh Win7 home premium by purchasing the Iconia 6120 recovery media. This may help resolve the bottom screen issue. If you aren't in the US, please click on support at the top of this page. Choose the country. Then click "get support". And then choose contact acer for tablets. You should then get phone numbers or email addresses for Acer representatives who might help arrange for you to get this media.  Jack E/NJ

My Ideapad P400 Touch with Windows 8 is no longer responding to right side swipe (charms bar gesture).  All other touch screen functions and gestures still work normally, including the left side swipe to switch apps.  The screen still displays the 'touch feedback' dots when I attempt the gesture but no charms bar appears! I've tried recalibrating as well as removing calibration of touch screen, and tried various other troubleshooting procedures I found on this site, like uninstalling recent updates, etc... Finally I tried running Windows 8 PC refresh, which worked as it's supposed to so I got to reinstall all my software but didn't fix the missing charms bar! Has anyone had a similar problem with the touch screen right-side swipe and been able to fix it?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!   Thanks!cait

Drivers all show working properly. Not intermittent. Tried settings and no help. No response when touching screen at all. Can't calibrate. Bios has no update available. Nothing in manual under troubleshooting. Any quick fix suggestions have likely been tried, but open to all ideas. If all else fails, and assuming the digitizer is bad, what does repair entail and any rough estimate? Is there any recall? I see this issue on the forum a lot with not many folks getting it resolved.TIA!!

Answer:U310 IdeaPad Touch :The Touch Screen Stopped Working. No Previous Posts Have Helped.

hi c2nah777,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Have you tried booting the system in Recovery Mode (One Key Recovery), You're not going to Recover the system since your only going to check the touchscreen in that mode "Outside Windows"

See if the touhcscreen works there,
If Yes, I would suggest doing a factory Reset First Before jumping into a hardware Repair.
If No, Then I think you're correct with the digitizer.

Hello, this is my situationI have bought my Lenovo Z400 Touch 59366600 in June last year, and it came with a non-functional webcam. In September last year, the touchscreen started exhibiting the spurious touch input fault on the left edge, rendering the computer unusable until the touchscreen is disabled in Windows. At some point after this, I have disassembled the computer.I have since moved to Austria, and I wish to solve my laptop's problems and am willing to pay a fee for the service. How can I do so? In addition, I have already bought a new SSD and more RAM to upgrade my computer, and am planning on installing Windows onto the SSD, however the Windows installer will detect the touchscreen and it will be impossible to click any buttons on screen.
