I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I have a Lenovo thinkpad x1 Carbon 4Gen with Windows 10. When I connect to internet with my sim card to the mobile broadband network, my screen is blinking (screen getting on and black several time). The connection is good but it blinks time to time. It happens even when I am already connected and while doing stuff online. Thanks for your help. Joel

I just went to use the camera on my 20BS, after not using it for a couple of weeks, and it was gone! In my case manually reinstalling the latest driver brought it back. Did you try that?

I purchased a W530 with integrated mobile and have been trying to connect with various networks to no avail. I have a Type 2436-CTO S/N xxxxxxx 13/08 and Windows 8 came installed when I received. I have upgraded BIOS and everything that Lenovo solutions says I need to update.

The MEID is A1xxxxxxxxxxx. It came with an integrated Sierra Wireless MC8355-Gobi 3000 modem. I have downloaded an updated driver for Windows 8 for the MC8355. I have spoken with almost every Lenovo technical person as well as taken the computer to various network stores and so far no one can figure out why it won't connect to Verizon.

Verizon says I'm active and the computer error message says I am not active. Every tech has tried to look at the system by logging into my computer and no one can figure it out. The device manager says the MC8355 is working. Interesting when it was shipped to me it also had an AT&T sim card installed. After I had signed up with AT&T and one mo of paying for service they determined it would not work on their network. Finally someone told me to take the AT&T sim card out and it still will not connect.

Verizon tells me I do not need a sim card as I have the MC8355 but they can't tell me why I can't connect. Now I've paid for Verizon service for one month and still cannot connect. Everything else works fine with the W530. I've owned ThinkPads exclusively since the first one ever came out. I've never not been able to connect to mobil... Read more

I posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated).  However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities.  Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping.  The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for.  The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon.  Thanks,

I am wondering if anyone has ideas about what is going on with my integrated camera.  The problem started when I went to join  googlehangouts (which has a new format) and when I clicked to engage my camera, I recived the BSOD with the message SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION (SPUVCbv x64sys) This happened everytime I went to turn on my camera with hangouts. The camera is also not working at all now. The green light comes on, and the camera hardware says it is working, but there is no picture.  It also does not work on skype. I checked to make sure I had an up to date driver, and then reinstalled the driver.  Still does not work. It seemed to me like a driver thing.  But now I don't know. Any ideas? Thanks!

Greetings:Does it make sense to get the Integrated ____ (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) Mobile Broadband add on or is it more economical to get a USB or express card later on?Does integrated mean built in as it relates to this issue?Thank you.

Peter M. AbrahamDynamic Net, Inc.

Answer:What is the value of the Integrated Mobile Broadband add on?

The value is for people whom knows definitely that they are going to use mobile broadbands, in addition the reception using the integrated system would be better than the external usb plugins (most of them anyway), if you only occasionally use mobile broadband then some people would suggest an external one. It really depends whether you are a road warrior that need constant mobile internet access.

Hello, As in the description, I have the 3rd gen X1 Carbon with a touch screen. I am having trouble getting my integrated camera to work. I believe I remember it working when I first got my laptop, but I haven't used it in a while. Yestrday, I went onto Google Hangouts to try and utilize the camera again, but it wasn't working. I kept looking around for how to start it. I tried downloaded the newest drivers (which would never complete installation because it couldn't find the device). I deleted my antivirus. I turned off my ad blocker on my Chrome. Restarted my laptop a few times. I did a bunch of stuff but nothing seemed to work. I went into the default integrated camera program on my laptop and it just shows a camera with an X through it, so it seems that my laptop is not hooked up properly or something. Any way to fix it??? Is it just a little glitch that I can fix it with, or is there a bigger issue at hand? Or... am I just delusional? Did I never have an integrated camera???

Answer:X1 Carbon Gen3 touch screen integrated camera not functioning

Open up Lenovo Settings from there you can control your camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and much more make sure under camera that safety mode is not enabled if it is then it won't sent pictures from camera disable it for it to send picture again since this a safety thing when you're not using the camera to prevent hackers / intruders from hijacking your camera to see what you got at home so they can break into when no one is home to steal stuff.  If this does not solve it reboot into bios then find I/O section in bios and make sure integrated camera there says [Enabled] and not [Disabled] if it's disabled thats also areason why it wont work.

Pretty bad for gaming...
Even a super basic fx5200 64bit blows it away in some cases. In others it's a little faster.

It might run those games, but they likely will be very slow, possibly unplayably slow.

Hello,Ordered a laptop with this option. & have inserted a SIM card I used in my "old Sony laptop that I used for WWAN.What else is needed to connect? Thanks

Answer:What does " Integrated Mobile Broadband upgradable" mean?

Hi rookie66, welcome to the forums,

it means that everything you need for broadband, WWAN, is present except the all important module which actually makes it all work.  The module can be purchased separately, or, on some systems the slot where it sits can be used for a solid state drive instead.

As you probably want to use WWAN, if you post which system you have members will be able to inform you exactly what you need to realise it.

I just received my new T500 laptop with integrated AT&T mobile broadband card.  There are no instructions (i.e. printed material, installation CDs, or on-screen messages) on how to activate this feature.  I currently use the AT&T service on my T61 laptop using a broadband modem card plugged in to the side of the computer.  This laptop came with an integrated Verizon mobile broadband card and every single time I boot up a message comes up asking if I want to activate / subscribe to the Verizon service.  No such message (for AT&T) comes up on my new T500. Can anyone provide me with step-by-step instuctions on how to get set up and going?  Also, are there any AT&T broadband service users who can share any helpful tips in transferring an existing service from one computer to another? Thanks in advance for any help!

Answer:How do I Activate (Integrated) AT&T Mobile Broadband Card on T500?

"Also, are there any AT&T broadband service users who can share any helpful tips in transferring an existing service from one computer to another?" Just move the activated SIM card.  I have one activated SIM card that I move between a T60 and a T61 as required. Both of these machines have internal integrated Sierra cards, though. Have to remove the batteries while moving the SIM card. As far as activating service on your new T500, you should be able to do that by calling AT&T Wireless. Two people in previous threads on this forum have gone that route. Centex

If you are configuring that in the online store, the "Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS)  [add $80.00]" will be the F3507G, unless there has been a recent change. Amazing if your IT guy can go through the purchasing cycle, install, and test, for less than that.

When I ordered my T410s, I chose the "upgradeable" option.  What does that exactly mean?  Does this mean that I have all the hardware already pre-installed, and I just need a SIM card and a service plan?  I noticed what appears to be a SIM card slot underneath the battery.  Should have thought ahead when I ordered the ThinkPad and had them set it up ready to go from the beginning.  Thanks.

Answer:Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradeable vs. Gobi 2000

Upgradable means you have the SIM slot and built-in antenna, but need to insert a WWAN mini PCI adapter like the Gobi 2000. So you have all the hardware except the WWAN adapter. The WWAN adapter is easy to insert and not that expensive to buy so it's no big deal, but if you are going to use mobile broadband you could as well have bought the Gobi 2000 instead of upgradable. You need a SIM card and a plan as well from a mobile network operator in your country. -gan

All of the promotional materials for the X1 carbon talked about "no contract embedded 3G". My new X1 shipped with all the Lenovo Mobile Access software that links me to the no-contract website. However, after a long time on the phone with Lenovo Mobile Access they tell me that only X1's that shipped with a GOBI modem have this option. Mine shipped with an Ericsson modem. As far as I can tell I have to get a contract with AT&T and a new SIM to use mobile broadband? This is ridiculous. Some people got X1C's with GOBI, others with AT&T. It seems like false advertising to offer "no contract embedded 3G", and then be denied this service if you end up with an Ericsson and not a GOBI.

Hi all, So I've just taken delivery of an X1 Carbon Touch - i7 with 8GB RAM. Overall I'm impressed - weight is good and the body is beautifully finished. The screen is usable but a little disappointing given the quality of the rest of the package. But here's the thing I'm struggling with....I thought the X1 Carbon Touch didn't have a mobile broadband option. So when I looked at the back end of my laptop I was surprised to see what looked like a SIM card slot. It opens, and there appears to be room for a full size SIM. See the attached...  Any idea what's going on? LC

In a bunch of the pre-release reviews they stated that you would be able to choose your wireless data provider. http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=6536&review=lenovo+thinkpad+x1+carbon+business+ultr... Apparently, this is not accurate.  When I received my X1 Carbon it had a defective WWAN card.  While on the phone with Tech Support I asked about using Verizon instead of AT&T and was informed that AT&T was the only carrier supported by the X1 Carbon. Not cool that the reviews/promo material that is used to sell the product does not match what is being sent out.

Hello All: I can't get the GPS location feature working on my new W520 (4270-CTO).  The device did work once, the first day I had the computer (before running Microsoft Update and Lenovo Update), however, it has not worked since then. I've tried everything I can think of - removing and re-installing all the software, double-checking the BIOS, looking for device driver problems - but no luck.  When I launch the 'GPS Enabler' application, all I see is 'Satellite Acquisition in progress...".  I know the laptop can see the satellite constellation because I have a small hand-held GPS beside the laptop, and it has an excellent view of the satellites.  So does my Blackberry. My operating system is Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, SP 1 (what the computer shipped with).  I've installed the 83wo13ww driver package (nominally version 6.4.1.6, according to the readme file, but displayed as driver version 1.4.0.5 in the properties sheet of the driver when viewed via the Device Manager); the 83wa20ww Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation package ( version 4.0.0020); and the 83gp31ww ThinkVantage GPS package (version 2.72). I'm running Access Connections 5.84 (build 83c755ww), which I believe is the current release.  I have placed a SIM card in the slot in the back of the computer, and when I launch the Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation, it shows all the appropriate information (IMEI, ICCID, etc.) for the SIM card... Just a postscript - I have found another discussion from about 18 months ago that mentions similar problems with a W500 and a T500.  One of the participants in that discussion suggested that improper assignment of COM ports might be the cause of the problem... but, if that is so, how does one go about re-assigning the two ports used by the GPS?  The picture I provided (link is above) shows that my W520 is using COM ports 10 and 11 for the GPS.  I have no idea at all how to change this port assignment. Here's the link to the prior discussion: W500 GPS Problem Regards, Michael

Hello I have had my Lenovo X1 Carbon for 1 week now to replace my X301, I have VPN issues through the integrated mobile wireless, i.e. it try's and fails, does not even get to the VPN verification stage. I have disabled all Firewalls on the device however it is like it is being blocked by the carrier.  I am using Microsoft Windows VPN and it works fine through to my office on WIFI and Hardwired and even paired with my Cell Phone, but not Lenovo Integrated Mobile. Using IPSEC authentication for the VPN to our company router (Draytek 2820n) This is driving me crazy, has anybody else had similar issues, or shed some light on this.ThanksChris

Answer:Lenovo X1 Carbon Mobile Boardband VPN does not work.

Hi cpickles,

Has your X1 Carbon's WAN card been updated with these?

Have you tested the WAN card without the VPN software just to make sure it works?

HiI just got my X1 Carbon w/ WWAN (EM7455) but I've noticed that the T-Mobile LTE-A performance is noticeably slower than it is on my LTE iPad Pro.  I've run multiple tests and I get 45-55mpbs download on my iPad. The Carbon only registers about 20mpbs.  My phone (also T-Mobile) is also registering 55mbps+ so the Carbon is definitely the odd one out.  Has anyone got any experience with this? Could it be to do with the T-Mo SIM not being optimized for LTE-A, or something?  ThanksGraham

We recently got two Thinkpad Carbon X1 Touch PCs which run Windows 8 Pro.  There is a sim port at the back for 3G mobile band access. We purchased two sim cards directly from Lenovo (@ $9.99 or so) and put these in our PCs.  The sim cards come with a phone number to register the cards 866-207-5353 and their website is http://mobile.lenovo.com which turns out to be run by Sprint. I note that the Lenovo client for this card athttp://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-68495#systemis specific for Windows 7, not 8, and I am aware of possible mismatches in drivers between 7 and 8 so I have not installled this. When I first called that 866 number to register the sim cards, I  was told that they received an email a month ago that the TP Carbon X1 was not supported in the US and they told me to call Lenovo Support Lenovo Support just checked that my drivers were up to data, and agreed that I should not install the Windows 7 dirvers.  They told me to call back the 866 access number, since only they know how to activate the cards. I called back the 866 number and I was told that they do not yet support Windows 8 which is why I cannot activate my new cards.  They don't know if other cell phone providers have similar plans, but I was advised to try some of them.  Really!!?? What's going on with this product?

Hi All,I wonder if someone could help me with upgrading my Lenovo X1 Carbon 2014. I've had laptop with SIM card reader but without broadband extension card. So, I bought the broadband extension card on the e-bay (Ericsson N5321gw). I've installed the hardware (extension card was inserted, red and blue cables were connected) and drivers/software from Lenovo website. I've put SIM card to the reader and if iI try to turn it on... there is an information "SIM card is not present... bla bla bla". I've checked different cards of different mobile operators and there is always the same information. I gave up! Maybe there is somebody here who knows what I do wrong? Thanks in advance!BR,Kuba

hi there, ok, so i am new to all this and a little wet behind the ears. how do i get the best broadband deal around, and who with and then become wireless using my hewlett packard laptop. i know its celeron but not centrino.. what bits and bobs do i need to buy to make it work? also... i want to buy another laptop prefereably about £600 with wireless technology. any ideas?

Answer:HP ze2105ea i want to go wireless and get broadban

There isn't a "Best" deal ... there are different best deals for different people. The best deal (value for money) is Tiscali £19.99 for 2Mbps & unlimited 24/7 UK calls (+£11 BT rental) . Thats a phone + BB. Maybe you want 20Mbps or cable. Some people are in areas where Tiscali is very bad ... others where it's great. I'm sure others will add their recommendations, and maybe even a "don't go near Tiscali" lol.

At long last my local exchange has been upgraded to provide adsl broadband, so I'm about to sign up for installation. As there are 4 computers in the house (2 desktops and 2 notebooks), I wish to take the opportunity to install a wireless network at the same time. This is primarily so that all users can share the broadband link but additionally the 1 x scanner and 3 x printers (2 x inkjets and 1x colour laser).Despite much reading on the subject I'm now confused. Can any readers experienced in this technology clarify what hardware I'll need to achieve this setup together with recommendations of manufactures? I've been looking at Netgear, Linksys and Belkin. Specific queries are; recommendations/comments on the merits or otherwise of single unit adsl modem/routers, wireless access points and wireless adapters. It was my intention to go for an 802.11g system now that the standard has been ratified.Final question is one of location. My main BT socket comes into a room 15m from the study in which the main desktop and peripherals are located. At the moment the dial-up modem is plugged into a hardwired extension to this room. Some of my reading suggests that the adsl modem has to be located at the main BT socket, if this is so I assume that my router/modem and wireless access point will also have to be in this location, which could be a problem?Answers to the above queries and additional suggestions/information that readers think I need would be gratfully received.

Answer:Advice for 1st set-up of wireless&broadban network

The makes your looking are great I use Belkin but there all as good as each other. For a wireless Network 15m is ok so long as there aren't to many obstructions in the way. What you need: 4 time wireless cards for the computers and one Gateway Access point. There very simple to set up just make sure that you set each PC/Laptop with the IP Address 192.168.0.2 for PC 1 then PC 2 192.168.0.3 then PC 3 and 4 increasing by one digit. Connect the ADSL/Broadband cable direct to the router switch on and enjoy. On the Belkin 54g router which is 802.11g it is also backward compatible with 802,11b.

Recently installed win 10 on think pad e 540. The integrated camera/web cam would not work. Is there a win 10 driver for the integrated camera or a way to fix this I use skype all the time and this is very frustrating. Paddy

Answer:integrated camera thinkpad e540

Good day and welcome to the community.

Out of curiosity, if you go through the the steps again of uninstalling the camera driver and reinstalling the W8.1 driver, does the camera work again, even for a day? If so, maybe Windows Update is seeing the 8.1 driver and auto-installing a non-working driver over top of the 8.1 driver.

Please let us know what you find.

Some AV Security software, such as Kapersky AV, will sometimes block the camera access, so check to see if yours has such a feature. Other thing to try is to completely remove the existing camera driver to see if it has become corrupted.   In windows, just uninstalling and reinstalling will not install a clean copy, unless you make sure to check the box during the uninstall to "Delete the driver software for this device".    If left unchecked, it will just reuse the existing driver, and if already the latest version, attempts to reinstall the same driver again will not always replace all files since they already exist. Also make sure to install all of the latest Chipset drivers, or better yet, run the Lenovo's ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU) and update all of the drivers to the latest version.      Sometimes it seems to find updates that fix issues that manually updating misses.. I would hold of on any BIOS updates except as a last resort, however, since they sometimes go bad, and when they do, they go really bad and can leave your system bricked.. ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU)https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht080136 Good Luck,

Hi Folks, I got my thinkpad T530 last week. I tested the skype after opening the box and it works. Then I took off the original 320G HDD and put my 830 SSD on it, reinstalled the win8 and blah blah blah.Just last night when I tried to chat with my parents on skype i found out the the camera is dead. I tried by doing so:1) according to others threads I uninstall most of the unnecessary drivers;2) reinstall the camera driver;3) deleted the ricoh media driver;4) updated the BIOS;5) tired to locate someone mentioned, the "privacy" problem. But the video/camera option is not even showing up by Fn+F6;6) downloaded and installed the thirdparty AMCAM and it says no camera device can be found.  Please let me know if there is anything else i can do. Thank you ,

I am not able to get my integrated webcam to work in my Lenovo Thinkpad W500. I tried installing drivers I found on Lenovo's website (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70600.html). The camera does not show up in the device manager or anything, and I have not been able to find a solution to this problem online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking at the new X200 but I don't see why it's called the Elite or what the difference it between the standard X200. Maybe a fresh pair of eye will help.

Answer:New Elite ThinkPad X200 with integrated graphics

"elite" models have higher minimum configurations compared to the normal X200s.   otherwise they're the same machine. if you configure a regular X200s to be the same as an elite, prices are completely identical.

I've read most, if not all of the other post on this topic, tried bios update, winupdates - XP SP2 all current, tried the Dell driver mentioned, the IBM driver and went to Sonix website and got their driver. NOTHING WORKS. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm not pay $69 for lenovo live support, instead of that, I'll just go buy a usb webcam. thanks in advance for your consideration.

I just bought Thinkpad Edge 14 two weeks ago. I've notice that Intergrated webcam stops responding. I have to download webcam driver from Lenovo Support again to make it work but it last only till I shut down the laptop. The same problem comes up the next time computer turns on. In Device Manager it doesn't detect it as a Camera but a Unkown USB Device. Once or twice installing the drivers fixed it for short time but looking for a stable and permanant solution. Any help??

I have started using the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2 as my main work laptop this week, and have officially retired my ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 1 for backup purpose. So far this is what i feel are the major positives of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2 vs Gen 1.

Positives:

-Better TrackPad
The quality of the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 1 trackpad is a definitively a plus compared to the old ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2. The surface finish of the ThinkPad Carbon Gen 2 is smooth, compared to the rough rubberised surface of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 1. Also, the trackpad left and right click is more precise, and is not as loud as the ThinkPad Yoga, which is the main convertible tablet i use nowadays.

-Build Quality

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 1 that i got had some build quality issues, especially in the screen area and the TrackPad. Also, the overall fit and finish of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 1 is lot worse than the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2. I have to say that the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2 fit and finish is top notch, it is the only ThinkPad that i can compare to the Macbook Air 13 that i got one year ago (yes i do have Macbook laptop).

Surface coating on the X1 Carbon Gen 2 is anodised hard layer over Magnesium Alloy for the main body chassis (i think the screen cover is CFRP, but i am not sure), rather than the more typical rubberised layer of the older ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 1.

Palmrest on the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2 also resists fingerprint and pal... Read more

HI everyone, I have a question regarding SIM in x1 carbon. I am not very good with technology, so I don`t know if my x1 carbon has a working SIM slot. It has a slot for SIM card but when I put it on, it doesn`t respond anything, like `detecting` or something like that. My question is: does x1 Carbon (Model 20A8-S00600) has a working SIM card slot. If it does, how can I make it functional. If it doesn`t what do I need to do/buy to make it functional.  Thanks,Kushtrim

Answer:Thinkpad x1 carbon SIM

Hi and welcome, kushtrimYour laptop is "WWAN ready" only, i.e.has the SIM card holder, the SIM card reader and WWAN antennas installed. WWAN modem wasn't factory preinstalled, that's a cause you don't see anything once SIM card is installed. So, to use laptop WWAN capabilities, purchase and install WWAN modem - 3G or 3g/LTE.

Answer:thinkpad x1 carbon

Hello and welcome,

Generally speaking, we're not supposed to be discussing password bypass.Other than reloading the OS you're probably out of luck.  I take it you didn't create recovery media?

Have you checked the usual: CAPSLOCK on (or off if on when creating the password), phantom NUMLOCK, etc?

Z.

Try it by swithing on and off your web cam.Make sure it's on Also look through all pages of your BIOS setup menu on the off chance it might be an option that can be disabled.

I would really appreciate it as its getting frustrating. Thanks everyone. Donal

Hi all, The integrated camera on my Thinkpad S230 isn't working. The camera app displays the camera with a slash through it. It will still take photos, but the photo is only the camera with slash error. The video camera works with Skype, but has the same error. I tried updating the drivers, but that hasn't worked. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Thinkpad S230 Integrated Camera no longer works

I suffered same problem and spent several hours.Don't touch the driver, but just touch Lenovo's own setting app.Go to Search - Lenovo Settings - Enable Camera iconNow you may see your shots.Possible privacy protection but confusing.

Hello Lenova Group,I have had bought a new Lenova L420 running in 32 bit Windows Home Edition.I can see an integrated webcamera for this.I've looked everywhere and was only able to turn it on by downloading Skype. I don't want to use Skype. I just want to turn it on.In other words - I need to switch on the camera without any applications(skype) ON.Is it possible.I have tried with the shortcuts like Fn+ESC and Fn+F6,F5 etc..Even I have checked in start menu with the keyword "Cam, webcam, etc.."Is there something like any hardware driver or software missing?Get me back and I'm new to this forum too ThanksHaan

Answer:Thinkpad L420 Integrated Camera no longer works

Hi, hjaffer2001

I do not belive that there is a way to turn the camera on without any programs to assist it. If the camera is on, but there is not a program active helping it, then it would be somewhat useless. However, I believe I may have found something that should work for you. Lenovo makes a program called ThinkVantage Communications Utility. This utility will allow you to activate your integrated camera and make clips and take snapshots if you would like. When this application is running, then the camera will stay on, so it should accomplish what you are looking for.

Best of luck,
Adam

Hello, I own an E 530 and in the beginning I didnt have any problems with the integrated camera. Then it stopped working once, I worked my way through here and other explanations and the download of a new driver solved the problem. Today the camera stopped working again, I 'updated' the driver, I tried to check all the settings but they seemed normal to me. What I do not find on my laptop is the web-conference configuartion everyone is talking about... So I sit with this problem and since I am not that much into specific laptop-technology easy understandable answers are very welcome My laptoptopsettings are in german, so i will try to find my way through it with english explanations  Thank you!!

I had recently reinstalled everything on my thinkpad T40 using the Factory CDs and I realized that I do not have any of the programs from ThinkVantage or any of the default Thinkpad features.  I was wondering where I could get the Thinkpad Display theme (has the custom My Computer, Recycle Bin Icons) EnergyStar power management (I tried installing the driver, but nothing happened) Integrated Camera Driver (I used the driver on the Support page and I nothing happened) Thanks!
