Intel Bluetooth Driver update--how to uninstall current driv...

Question: Intel Bluetooth Driver update--how to uninstall current driv...

It would be great if HP included some instructions in their update section to walk us through, step by step, how to install a new driver when the previous one must first be uninstalled. Most updates are just click and download. Nothing else required. But some of us aren't all that comfortable uninstalling drivers and don't know where to begin.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, Thank you for posting. You should not uninstall previous driver prior to updating new one. In Windows 10 you can install updates via Windows Update or Device Manager (preffered method). Here is how >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139 For non-critical, not so important and other updates, you can also use HP Support Assistant (HPSA) >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467905In HPSA, please skip BIOS/UEFI updates. Hope this helps. Feel free to reply back if something is not clear.

I've been trying to install the Intel Bluetooth Driver that was recommanded but i didnt realize that i had to remove the old one first.  So I'm just confused on what to remove, when i go into Programs i only see a Intel Wireless Driver and a Intel Graphics Driver. I do see Intel (R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) but its doesnt say driver at the end so im just not sure. Is that what i need to remove to install the Update? I really dont know anything much about computers and i just dont want to mess anything up or delete the wrong thing, but id like my computer to up to date.

Hello, trying to upgrade my Thinkpad Yoga to the most recent drivers I made the unfortunate mistake running the Intel Driver Update utility on the intel website (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect) and install the most recent drivers. Now Bluetooth doesn't work anymore (it doesn't find my wireless headphones), the system gets reproducibly slower and finally hangs after a few hours, and I have 5 "unknown devices" in the Device Manager: "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter""Unknown device" (device instance path BTH\MS_BTHPAN\...)"Unknown device" (device instance path BTH\MS_BTHBRB\...)"Unknown device" (device instance path BTH\MS_BTHLE\...)"Unknown device" (device instance path BTH\MS_RFCOMM\...) This is a pain, the machine is my main development machine and it took me over a week to fully set it up. I really really really do not want to go through that again. Does anyone have any ideas how to fully remove the Intel drivers and start from scratch without reinstalling? To me it also looks like part of the MS bluetooth stack went missing - the Bluetooth adapter is correctly setup, but it appears that Windows cannot find the drivers for the Bluetooth peripheral devices. I've been throuh the Device Manager uninstall for the Wireless (it's a 7260AC) + Bluetooth drivers including "Remove drivers" checked , uninstall through "Add/remove programs", lots and lots of reboots in between, disabling/reenabling bluetooth in the BIOS, disabling the b... In short, I can't uninstall Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology to upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7 (64 bit). So I probably am the source of much of my problems, but the jist of my current problem is windows uninstaller says that I cannot remove Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology because my Intel Wireless Adapter is not found. I do not have an Intel Wireless Adapter. I have looked through my device manager, and unless I accidentley got rid of something somehow, which is entirely possible, all I have under Network adapters is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. If I choose to show hidden devicess then a bunch of Microsoft ISATAPs come up and WAN Miniports as well as a Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface and RAS Async Network Adapter.

I tried using CCleaner to uninstall it and it seemed to work, but the Intel Bluetooth Technology was still picked up on as blocking my Windows 8 upgrade.

I really want to start running windows 8 so any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Sava, go to following link and run the microsoft fixit program on that site and tell it to try and uninstall the intel software. I had exactly the same problem and it managed to uninstall the software (it took several minutes to do it!). I have not yet re-attempted to install Windows 8 yet because it took so long to solve all the issues with incompatible software, however I am optimistic! Hi! Upgraded my Y500 to windows 8.1 pro and installed all the drivers but these two doesnt seem to work (Intel Bluetooth Driver and Refresh Camera Driver) for Intel Bluetooth after Clicking yes for windows permission nothing happens at all. Tried to use compatibility torubleshooter and for Refresh camera and errror would pop up saying "No apropriate drivers to be installed" or something like that. I then uninstalled the 2 devices on the devices manager (Unkown Device and Intel audio bluetooth and i think it was because of the two drivers) after that it didnt showed up again so i rolled back to the initial recovery state updated my unit again to win 8.1 pro and the two devices arent showing up now in device manager and both the drivers are still acting the same way. I just want a clean install, I had no problem with sli when i looked at device manager theres no yellow error sign with exclamation point on 1 of my video card, just this two drivers .Searched google and lenovo forums for possible solutions but to n avail.

So I just got a new computer at work, Dell Latitude E7240. I'm running 32-bit Windows 7 (I have to have 32-bit due to some software I have). I installed all of the drivers but my bluetooth doesn't seem to work. I had a similar issue on my last machine, Latitude E6440. I tried using the same driver I used to fix the E6440, but that didn't seem to completely work on my new machine.

Basically, every time I restart my machine, the bluetooth driver doesn't seem to work. I go to device manager, right click on Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R), click on Update Driver Software. Then I go to Browse For Driver Software On Your Computer, then I go to Let Me Pick From A List Of Device Drivers On My Computer, uncheck Show Compatible Hardware. In the Manufacturer List I go to Intel Corporation and in the Model List I select Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) (Intel). This installs Driver Version 17.1.1411.504 (date is 11/26/2014). I have to go thru this every time I restart my computer.

I found a coworker with the same machine (except hers is a 64-bit Win7), with a different driver. She has a Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 Adapter with a Driver Version 3.1.1307.364 (date is 8/8/2013). Her's works perfectly everyday. But I understand this is probably the driver for the 64-bit.

Can someone help me find the equivalent for a 32-bit Win7? I've searched endlessly on Google with no results. Thanks!

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is 14.40.26.4474 which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

Hello, Since a few weeks,  I haven't been able to use my bluetooth speaker anymore. I used to simply connect (Bluetooth Devices -> My speaker -> Services -> Listen to music) but the "Listen to music" link is now grey and disabled : impossible to click it.I investigated a bit and realized that the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" driver was not correctly installed. I tried to uninstall, repair, reinstall it, but couldn't do any of these actions, I always got an error message near the end of the installation process.I'm pretty sure this is the problem : I checked the device manager and discovered 16 "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with a warning icon in the "Other devices" category ... Doesn't look good, right ? Is anyone struggling with the same issues ? Have you found a way to fix it ? Thanks a lot for any help. Best, Sylvain E.K.

I have a Phillips shb5500 headset that was working until revent MS and Hp updates disrupted the drivers. Some function were restored with restore function rollback. I'm on MS boards and Philips boards as well. Device manager says it's working but I'm looking at all potential drivers. The MS Audio Device 97 is high on the list as well. Win 10 has had many such driver foul ups for me. I especially grt annoyed by messages like "there was an error" with no definitions. "Failed to install", "driver unavailable". HP assitant want me to delete the Bluetooth/Intel driver then install the update. I'll do it but I don't see where this is going either. Soon the "story" will be found, it will be a common one I'm sure, but it's so annoying to be thrown in the obsolete scrap bin with a 4 year old device that was marketed as "high end" at the time. HP should win 10 support the device but it doesn't.

Hello.I have a Lenovo Z500 with Windows 8.1 installed on it. I wanted to use Bluetooth in the past few days, but it seems like the OS cannot initialize the device properly, and thus is unable to use it. The Windows installation has all the necessary drivers installed from the Lenovo website - there are no unknown devices showing up in the Device Manager. The device reports itself as VID=8087,PID=07DA, which - according to Google - is the Intel Bluetooth device. Here's what I've tried so far :Installing the Intel Bluetooth driver from the Lenovo Support website. It only installed some extra support applications in Program Files, and did not update the driver itself.Upgrading the driver for the device via Windows Update. This partially worked, since the last installation screen said it found a "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + High Speed Adapter", but was unable to install it because "The parameter is invalid".Running the Intel Driver Update Utility. This upgraded the WiFi drivers and the Bluetooth support executables to the latest version, but it had no effect on properly starting the Bluetooth device.I'm unable to think of anything else I can do to get the adapter working, which is why I ask for your help. As a side note, I ran Xubuntu 14.10 from a USB stick and found Bluetooth to be working properly - I could pair a device and send/receive data without any trouble, which leads me to believe that the hardware itself is OK and there's something else interfering ... Short verison: I can't uninstall or update my Intel PROset/Wireless software from v 17.16.1. Looking for ideas. Details: The Lenovo update utility informed me of a critical update to my Intel PROset software. I had v 17.16.1 installed and it wanted to install 18.something.  I let it run the update. The process stopped and sat inactive (no CPU / no disk activity) for ages. Upon reboot an Intel PROset app came up and reported that the installation was blocked because a newer version is installed. (Image below)  Control Panel reported TWO instances of Intel PROset/Wireless software installed: my original 17.16.1 and the 18.x new one. Trying to uninstall either one gave error that it could not be uninstalled. Used a  restore point to get rid of the 18.x.  However, now trying to uninstall the "IntelPROset Wireless Software" v17.16.1 brings up the Intel uninstall app, and it just sits there with no progress. The gears turn and nothing happens. Questions:Have I run into versioning issues between Intel and Lenovo released versions of the software? (I don't even recall the history of what I have installed and where it came from.)Are there any tricks to getting it to uninstall? Was using the Lenovo System Update my big mistake?Who should I trust for my Intel wireless drivers: Lenovo or Intel or Windows Update?Between all the Intel and Lenovo junk installed it is bewildering to know what to ditch, what to ignore, and what to rely on! Thanks in advance!&... My INSPIRON 3459 attempts to update this driver, but it always fails. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Management Console. I have no idea why, but it keeps scanning, downloading, installing: Failure. Anything I should do to get this to install. There is also another Driver that is failing as well. But this never succeeds.

I recently set up a new Dell 7710 Precision Workstation (Xeon E3-1535M v5 w/Intel HD Graphics P530; Nvidia Quadro M5000M; Windows 7 Pro). The Dell Precision Optimizer (DPPO) tells me there are no updates at all (no Critical, Recommended, or Optional). However, the Intel Driver Update Utility tells me I have an older chipset (14.6.1.1030) that should be replaced by a newer chipset (10.0.27). I don't know if the DPPO is taking into account particular aspects of this system that make the 14.6.1.1030 the “correct” (even if not the latest) chipset. Perhaps the DPPO should override the Intel utility. Any thoughts?

Answer:Driver Updates: DPPO vs. Intel Driver Update Utility

I uninstalled a driver on purpose to test the dell optimizer utility and it is telling me no updates available ! I rebooted the laptop. same thing. In device manager the device is showing as other device with a yellow exclamation mark  !!!! How do I trust the optimizer now eh ?

Hi,
I'm a little confused by one of my update options. I was under the impression that windows 7 was using wddm 1.1, and that the wddm 1.0 drivers have been available for quite some time. I checked and the driver I have is wddm 1.0, released 10/28/2008, version number 8.15.10.1590. So why am I being given the option to update to 'pre-release wddm 1.0'? I tried to get more information to check the version number, but I am just redirected to Winqual Help , which doesn't help me any.

I'd like to test out the wddm 1.1 drivers, and I've read that they're available for 7, but I don't think that these are those drivers, unless there is a typo in the driver title.

yes thats right....

wddm is just a driver model...
its up to the manufacture (here intel) to release wddm 1.1 driver
so until then (most likely they wont) they have to release a wddm 1.1

Windows Display Driver Model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
that should be a good read....

what they mean pre-release means that these drivers are beta drivers (there is a difference between pre-release drivers and pre-release wddm 1.1 drivers)

Hi all I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 8 but the assistant will not let me proceed because it is tell me to "manually uninstall" the "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver". When I first ran the installer it listed two "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver". One had the uninstall button which I ran just fine but after a restart the upgrade installer still complained about the one that needed manually uninstalling. I've made sure all the Intel USB devices were uninstalled in device manager. I've reinstalled the drivers then uninstalled again. I've even been through the registry which did have references to iusb* files in system32/drivers. The files referenced did not exist so I removed those registry keys but the upgrage installer still complains that I have to manually uninstall the Intel USB 3. I even disabled the USB3 mode in the bios but this had no affect. Does anyone know what I need to do to stop the Windows 8 upgrade process complaining about this driver? Thanks

Okay, recently whenever i visit a page sometimes it will pop up into either a java update page with a smaller box saying to download something and this is the same for the intel driver update page also. But even more recently i have noticed that another popup has started to appear where it would turn the current page into a page saying you have a virus etc. And in the smaller popup box it says you must contact a phone number. Now i am not stupid enough to click anything on them pages or contact any phone number it provides.Another issue is that when i am not in chrome and i click a link to a weblink from something such as skype, it will open up another 4 tabs after the one i need to be on. This is a post explaining my Bluetooth issues and how I resolved it.  It's a good thing.  I never found anywhere in my searches this answer but it does work.  Here's the story.
After upgrading to Windows 10 back when it first came out, I struggled with the Bluetooth reception and the ability to use Bluetooth devices (bose mini and Plantronics m55 headset).  Then in my efforts to resolve it and loading all the latest drivers, somehow I stumbled across the driver that works how it should.  This is what I mean.
When you originally connect the device, then turn it off, when you turn it back on it wouldn't reconnect AND play without removing the Bluetooth device and the re-pairing it.  Now, when I turn the device back on it automatically reconnects and works like it should.  It's a beautiful thing.
Usually it wants to update the driver or install as original the Intel N6230 Bluetooth driver (it will say something like that in device manager, but with more words).  That is a troublesome driver.  Instead, you should use the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth Driver 3.0.130.386" - do a search, I downloaded the cab file from softpedia.  After downloading, you have to uninstall any driver currently being used through "programs and features" and/or "device manager".  Just the one that's the Bluetooth driver, not the enumerator or anything else.  After you uninstall it, in device ma... Windows Update is not telling me I need or can update my Wireless networking, but Intel's Update Driver Utility says I should and is offering the update. How would you recommend I proceed?

Answer:Should I trust Intel's Driver Update utility or Windows Update?

G'day Rolo,

The difference between the two drivers is that the Windows one is digital signed/tested by Microsoft. I would say that unless the Intel one delivers more benefit than the Windows one, and everything works as expected, then there is no need to update.

You often see this with graphics card drivers too, for example.

Golden

Hi, On http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-74433 the following version of the Intel HD Graphics Driver is anounced: Version:8.15.10.2253Release Date:2010/12/28 While the package contains a new driver for Intel Display Audio, which can be installed by manual driver update via device mangager it neither seems to update the last installed version 8.15.10.2202 of the graphics driver nor does it contain a new driver for Intel HD Graphics which could be installed manually. I initially installed the Fall Creators Update when first offered, and I don't have to tell you about the disaster that followed.

But I have learned from my experiences, ie. anniversary update nightmare, & used a macrium image to dial back, after which I deferred the feature updates for 360 days.

So I'm checking to see if enough progress has been made or suggestions to make it work, like drivers updates, etc. which have been mentioned elsewhere?

The Intel(r) HD Graphics 530 i5 6500 driver automatically installed by Windows update is not the latest version, but you know, I believe if it ain't broke, don't fix it when it comes to driver updates.

Unfortunately, I can't UNINSTALL the second half of the program called "Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update". Hi thereI have a problem with updating my intel driver on my Aspire v3-772. Currently my driver page states that version10.18.10.3355 is the latest, but the problem begins when i run intel driver update utility and try to install the latest driver 15.36.31.4414 straight from intel. The program installs normally and asks to restart my laptop to apply the final changes but after reboot when i run the intel driver update utility it states that my driver still needs to be updated again with the same driver software meaning the previous installation didn't install properly. Is there a way to install the latest driver or a way to contact acer to update their custom intel driver for my laptop? PS - I tried unistalling the previous version from acer then installing the version from intel it didn't work

Answer:please update intel driver

You can get the latest driver 10.18.15.4256 dated 20/08/15 for your model from here:http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/4732?b=1Intel's latest drivers may have been released to accommodate provisions for newer cpu and other hardwares, you don't need newer drivers for your system function properly IMHO. I would suggest you to leave Windows to decide which drivers suitable for your system and if you are not happy, get the drivers from Acer download site. HTH.

Hi,
I have a Dell XPS 15 9560.  Until recently I have been using a Logitech MX Anywhere 2 mouse which is paired to the laptop's bluetooth (BT).  A few days ago, however, I noticed the mouse did not work.
On further investigation I found that the laptop's BT was not on and the button to activate it had disappeared from the windows 10 action centre panel thing.  I have checked the device manager and the BT section has disappeared; on viewing hidden items there is no BT hardware entry.
I recently updated some drivers following an notification from the Dell Update service. It seems very likely that the updates and loss of BT are related.  The updates were primary Intel chipset related stuff (I cannot find an update history in the Dell Update software so I'm not 100% sure).
I tried to use system restore yesterday from several previous points created over the last few driver and windows updates, but all the restores failed.  I tried also to do the restore by booting windows into troubleshooting mode; same result.  Checking again today, and now all the system restore points have disappeared so that option is gone even if it had worked.
I tried to do a check using the Dell diagnostic software but it says there is no BT hardware to check.
I got the latest BT drivers directly from Qualcomm (10.0.0.309) but their installation made no difference.  I also reinstalled the drivers using Dell Support (Killer Wireless AC Driver 10.0.0279) - no jo... Read more

There was a problem with the bluetooth driver I updated last night before going to bed. After the driver updated I shutdown and I don't know why but the update for some reason uninstalled my wireless. I didn't realize this at first but when I checked my connections I only had netgear showing and I have 2 wireless adapters, the netgear and the builtin dell wireless in my inspiron 3650. So I checked in the windows 10 device manage and the Dell "Qualcomm QCA9565" network adapter was missing from the list. I of course right clicked and chose scan for hardware changes and there it was now.

So anyone from Dell you might want to drop a line with whoever is testing/QA the drivers and let them know there is a little bug they overlooked and someone the is not as computer savvy as myself would have been screwed and might have since they had no internet connection ended up paying someone at a PC repair place to fix this bug that never should have happened.

System: T430u I was having a problem detecting a new bluetooth speaker so, Using Lenovo Solution Center, I chose to update my bluetooth driver.  Beforef the update, I had run some bluetooth software by double-clicking on the bluetooth icon in my system tray and didn't shut it down, so it was running during the update.  I assumed that's why the update failed (couldn't shut down some service whose name I don't remember).  After the installation failure there was an option to manually install the driver by clicking on some link (still within Lenovo Solution Center).  So I clicked and it seemed to install. After reboot, there's no bluetooth icon in the system tray and when I check the driver, version it's an old version.  The Installation history in LSC says:    "Broadcom Bluetooth Device Software BCM20702 -8[32,64]/8.1 [64]  version 12.0.0.5400 Did not install"But now doesn't give me the option of installing it and I can't find it at the Lenovo support pages for my laptop. Can someone give me some advice on what to try next?

Answer:Bluetooth driver update failed

Restore point in Windows.  Note for future:  Lenovo Update does NOT create restore points.  You'll need one of your own to roll back in case you don't like what LU does for you.

I got my Y50 quite recently, and the bluetooth is not working. I don't know if it was originally, but isn't anymore. Usually (on my Y40) I go to Lenovo settings and enable bluetooth, then the icon shows up in the menu bar, but that is not working. This is not a hardware issue, because I installed Linux onto an external drive, and when I boot from it, the bluetooth is fully functional. The intel ac 3160 is also a dual wifi+bluetooth chipset, if I am correct. The wifi is perfectly fine too.I installed the latest bluetooth drivers for Windows 8.1, but they have no effect. I even installed the intel chipset driver, just to see if anything would happen, but sadly, there was no effect

Hi there,

I have just applied some Windows Updates today (25/01/2011), and have found that my USB Bluetooth dongle has stopped working. It was working fine before the updates, but now all I have is the device in the Device Manager list, showing Bluetooth Radios, then CSR Bluetooth 3.0 with a question mark next to it.

The updates I applied are:

- Cambridge Silicon Radio Limited - Audio, Other hardware - CSR BlueCore Nanosira

and then immediately after came this one:

- Cambridge Silicon Radio Limited - Audio, Other hardware - CSR Bluetooth 3.0

Now I am unable to roll back the drivers, and after a trawl of the Internet I can't find a replacement. Please can anyone let me know if they have experienced the same issue, and if they have been able to find a resolution?

Thanks,

CB.

I currently have a driver dated 5/2/14 for the Intel 82579V adapter. When I run the Intel utility it reports it's outdated and installs the latest one (v20.1) dated June 2015, but after install and upon checking Device Manager I see that the old driver was not updated. Any way to clean install the new driver? Thanks

Answer:Unable to update Intel LAN driver

That would be because there is not a new one. The driver is only updated if there are security flaws, or changes in removing outdated code.

Those driver packages, actually cover a wide range in that chip series.

Answer:intel x58 chipset driver update

HI. Since when this happens? .. Note that if it is to root the new hardware will have to remove it and see if it happens without it, you can remove the CMOS battery and do a hard reset to the bios and try, maybe you will have to update The bios and see if it solves this.If the driver is from the official page, this should not be the problem, you can try device manager and get the hardware ID and look for a previous driver, not always a current one works the same way. Regards.

When I run the subject program (have latest version - 2.4), the scan tells me my graphics driver (for Win 7, 64-bit) is currently version 10.18.10.4358 and that a newer version, 15.33.42.4385, is available. I click the [Download] button, and it downloads a 124MB file. Then the [Install} button lights up. I click it, it goes thru the motions, but when it finally starts installing, it says it's installing ver. 10.18.10.4358 ! And sure enough, after the install finishes and I reboot the computer, when I do another scan it says I have version 10.18.10.4358 and 15.33.42.4358 is an available update.

What's wrong?

I recently installed a new game and every time I play it, a couple minutes in I get an blue error screen and my computer restarts.  It says that the problem is with ialmdev.dll.  I found a page on the support site that had the updates to fix this (link below) but I have a T60, which is not listed.  Can I fix this with a simple update?  And if so, which should I use? Thank you!  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-50885 Moderator note: Type+subject added to subject line for clarity. My Acer V5 471T is running with 20.19.15.4444  Can I work around "a customised computer manufacturer driver is installed... update utility is not able to update..." Having issues in Guild Wars 1 with how players/characters are displayed on screen. No such issues in Guild Wars 2. Will a driver update solve this problem or is it something else? Other than a Chipset update, no other updates have been done. Running Windows 10.0.14393 Thanks.

One of my programs has been crashing recently and, after contacting the support team of the program, it seems like the issue is caused by my Intel graphics driver being out of date. Since HP does not update the driver automatically, support suggested downloading the most recent driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- . However, the installer wizard throws the notification that this driver is not installed for my machine. Is it safe to install the driver anyway, through the steps listed at the page mentioned above? If not, is there another procedure to update my driver to the latest version?

Answer:Update Intel Graphics driver

Does your notebook not have the NVIDIA GeForce 840M video solution installed?  Have you tried using that as the default graphics solution for the program that is crashing? I suggest downloading and installing the Intel driver from the following web page at Intel. Use the second driver from the top.http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/graphics-for-4th-generation-intel-pr...

The newest graphics drivers for the Thinkpad P50 contain Intel driver version 21.20.16.4550 (the latest available from the Support site). This version of the driver (as well as older versions) has a bug which causes Google Chrome to jitter when in full screen and moving the mouse around the page. (See http://crbug.com/672448 .) Intel has released a version of the drivers (21.20.16.4590) which is reported to fix this problem. I tried to install the updated driver from Intel, but the installer tells me that I can't because I need a driver version customized by Lenovo instead. Is there some way around that to install the new Intel driver? Will it hurt in any way to do that? Is there some way to get Lenovo to release a new set of drivers with the updates from Intel? Thanks!

I recently used Intel's website to update a graphics driver. After I did this I noticed that my screen would blink every 2 or 3 seconds. I did not think much about it until I took the Laptop to work the next day and this blinking thing did not happen. I then tried it again at home and it started blinking again. I use a Verizon hot spot at home and use AT&T(wireless also) at work. Any idea what could cause this?

Answer:Intel Driver update issue.

The driver installed from Intel could possibly be the culprit. Look for the correct video driver from your laptop manufacturing support site.

I have a Thinkpad R61 with an onboard Intel GM965 and running Vista Home Basic. The current (v7.14.10.1437) version of this video driver has serious issues in many low requirements games (such as World of Warcraft). I noticed that Lenovo published updated drivers for Windows XP in January, but has not updated the Vista drivers since April last year. Is Lenovo not supporting this operation system anymore? I have tried updating from the Intel page, but it tells me I need a customized manufacturer driver. Just to be clear, I know for a fact that it's the driver causing the issues I'm experiencing in games (e.g., the "driver stopped responding but has recovered" error). I forced the installation of the latest intel drivers and the games are working fine. However, my display is unusable on battery power if I use anything but the manufacturer drivers. So I can either have a fully functional work laptop, but with no gaming, or a laptop that can do gaming, but cannot be used if unplugged from the power chord. Sigh.... If there are any Lenovo support people on this forum, I'd like to know if I can expect any driver updates for this video processor on Vista in the near future.

Answer:Intel GM965 Driver Update

Same thing I m asking for?Where is or are gonna be a new driver for Vista? I have ThinkPad R61i with GM965 running on Vista Business.I m using my laptop for job and gaming. This Lenovo driver from february last year supports Pixel and Vertex shaders version 3.0 and OpenGL 1.5.The new Intel generic driver have same support P/V shaders 3.0 but without hardware Transform and Lighting.Even they said that GM965 support hw TnL so why isnt activated with Intel or Lenovo graphic driver??Only change I found is that this new intel generic driver change the OpenGL version from 1.5 to 2.0.I had analyzed with Everest Home Edition my laptop and thats I know that there isnt hwTnL support.

So the Intel HD driver for the W540 - and all Optimus laptops from this generation - is 10.18.15.4256. It was released by Intel in August 2015, and it is so old that it still lists the current Win10 build as an Insider one. (Not even mentioning the Nvidia driver, which is also several months out of date). Meanwhile, the Intel-only laptops with the same GPU, such as the T440s or T540p, are on version 20.19.15.4416, released by Intel in March 2016. This driver is miles ahead of the Optimus T540ps and W540/1s. Will we ever see an update?

The Dell update utility lists an update for the Intel z87 chipset driver for my XPS 8700 as recommended. I checked my motherboard specs & it also lists the Intel z87 as being installed on my system.  However, my processor,  I-5 4460, is not on the list of supported processors for this chipset on the Intel site.  My IDE controller is the Intel 8series/C220. . . How can I be certain that this update applies to my specific 8700 configuration?

Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.0)

I just had this driver show up in my windows update but when I got to install it I get this error:

Windows Update error 0x80070103If you receive Windows Update error 80070103 while installing updates, you might be trying to install a driver that's already installed or a driver that might be less compatible than one you already have installed on your PC.

Is anybody else having this problem? Or have any ideas how to fix it?

Regards.

I downloaded and ran the Intel (R) Driver Update Utility on my ASUS X54C Laptop which is running Win 8.1

I found it at: Intel® Driver Update Utility

I ran the utility and the utility found two updates which I downloaded as per the screenshot below.

My questions are

(1) .. should I install these two updates?
(2) .. is there any risk in installing the updates?

I should mention that I have not had any problems with my laptop and am wondering if I should leave well alone?

Answer:Intel (R) Driver Update Utility

The Intel driver update utility is safe. These are Generic drivers though, if your not experiencing any problems there's no need to download them if your X54C came with windows 8. The version changes are minimal the chipset for example is for newer hardware(the x54c is at least 3 years old) and the HD graphic are changes for specific video games/screen hardware. Because they are generic drivers provided from Intel and have not been cleared through ASUS there is always a minimal(however small) possibility that it might cause problems and have to roll back which is easy(happened to me once). Best is to go here and see if there are any updates.

Hi There I bought recently a Ideacentre B520 on win 7 , 1 week ago i upgraded to win8 pro , everything is working perfectly with the exception of not being able to upgrade my win8 , it dont work at al, windows upadate downloads the updates but it dont instal i found  the reason is a conflict on the bluetooth driver, lenovo dont have the driver for win 8 and therefore i got an error on the device manger saying "unknow device" .There is any way to disable thew bluetooth until lenovo releases a driver?I think that way i can upadate my windows.thanks in advance .

Answer:No Bluetooth driver for Win8pro because of that i can update windows 8

I have a B320 and when updating to 8 got a message that bluetooth was not compatible but when it finished the bluetooth mouse/keyboard work so I'd guess MS put in something generic. I was going to suggest device manager but I looked on mine and don't find anything listed for blue tooth. You might look in control panel/system/device manager and see if there is something labeled bluetooth - uninstall it and allow the system to look online for new driver. It should stick with the set up you have it it doesn't find a new one.Lenovo needs to get ahead of this business instead of being behind though not all companies are doing the ahead game.Bought a usb/hdmi adapter and it won't work with 8 either form iogear???I've also read that there is some sort of bluetooth interface though I have not seen it or found it on my system.
