Can't send/forward an email w/attach to gmail

Question: Can't send/forward an email w/attach to gmail

Outlook 2010, Win7. This just started about a week ago. I can send an email to a gmail address without issue, add a small attachment and it is an immediate failure. The same mail w/attach will go to a non gmail acct without issue. Here is what I get, it is instantaneous as if it never leaves my computer.

Preferred Solution: Can't send/forward an email w/attach to gmail

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Outlook 2003 recd's emails W/attach but wont send an email W/attach on my W7 Pro 32 bit SSD Laptop.

All of a sudden I'm not able to send an email w/attach(s) from Outlook 2003. I've checked the box to send rec msgs instantly & checked COM add-ins to no avail.

"Now" I can't send emails "any" emails W/WO attachments because an email w/attach is stuck in the outbox & I can't delete it even though I deleted an email w/attach rec'd1/2 hr ago???

Any solution to this conundrum??

Every time I forward a message or compose a new message in Gmail,using Firefox 3.6.12 - entering an address in the TO: field, and clicking SEND, I get a message that there is a bad address in the BCC: field.

The Message when I go to the Bcc field: The address "< in the "Bcc" field was not recognized. Please make sure that all addresses are properly formed.

The URL, always the same, also shows when I click to open the BCC venue

There is no URL when I use Reply and no URL using reply and the Bcc field

The above URL showed up out of the blue and I don't know how to get rid of it.

This only happens using Firefox, not IE.

I use a Dell Vostro 200 that's a year old - Window XP Pro - I use Firefox 99% of the time.

Thanks in advance for your consideration and help.
/Marylou

Answer:URL resides in Gmail Bcc field using firefox SEND AND FORWARD

I Figured out by process of elimination that one of my Firefox add-ons,
Greasemonkey 0.8.20100408.6 - was causing the URL residing in my Bcc: field.

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
oStory.Fields.Update
Wend
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing
End Sub

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False
ActiveDocument.SendMail

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

Answer:Word Macro to attach doc to email, then send address email

I found a solution, but I think it is a bit bulky. It seems to work but I'd love to know if there is a simpler solution:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
oStory.Fields.Update
Wend
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing

ActiveDocument.Save

MsgBox "Thank you. Your order has been sent", vbOKOnly, "Thank you. Your order has been sent"
Dim bStarted As Boolean
Dim oOutlookApp As Outlook.Application
Dim oItem As Outlook.MailItem
On Error Resume Next
If Len(ActiveDocument.Path) = 0 Then 'Document has not been saved
ActiveDocument.Save 'so save it
End If
Set oOutlookApp = GetObject(, "Outlook.Application")
If Err <> 0 Then 'Outlook isn't running
Set oOutlookApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
bStarted = True
End If

Set oItem = oOutlookApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)
With oItem
.To = "[email protected]"
.Subject = "Promo Order" '
.Body = "Thank you for your order"
.Attachments.Add Source:=ActiveDocument.FullName, Type:=olByValue
.Send
'**********************************

End With
If bStarted Then 'If the macro started Outlook, stop it again.

I can receive mail fine, but I cannot create or send mail and I cannot forward email. The systems closes OE and wants to send an error message to MS.
All the incoming and outgoing settings have been verified and still have the same problem.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:cannot send or forward EMAIL in OE6

Hi there, Boogerman5, see if this link helps you. It is an Outlook Express repair kit, and a good one to keep in your favorites, as it has a lot of info, and even detailed descriptions... Also, error messages are explained in this link.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/community/columns/oerepair.mspx

I also have OE6, so maybe this will help you :
Click on Tools > Accounts > select e-mail client and click properties
On the Servers, Connection, and Advanced tabs, check the settings against those given to you by your Internet service provider (ISP).

If your settings match the ISP information, contact your ISP to verify that you have the correct information and that the ISP servers are operating correctly.

Another thing, are you getting a "Time Out" message? Try this:
Increase the length for server time-outs

On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
Select the account, and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, in the Server Timeouts area, move the slider to the right.

Hope this helps you.

Could someone give me a clue before I pull my last hair out! lol

you might look good bald...who knows?Why not do yourself a favor and open a yahoo account and then try sending pics...OE was something ISP's shoved on us years ago...with yahoo you can keep the same e-mail regardless of which ISP you use. I'm sure you can export your addresses from OE and import them on yahoo.Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

You need to tell us whether you are using webmail via your browser or an email program, like Windows Live Mail. Also, who provides your email service? Did you check their website to find their email settings for the email program you are using? (Especially their mail sending server settings.)

Windows ME DELL 960 mz, After exhausting all avenues with MSN techs I thought Id consult the REAL experts. My friend cannot send or forward email but can receive and read through MSN hotmail when logging on through her MSN browser. If we use Internet Explorer as the browser and go to MSN s home page and log on to her account you can do everything, also if you go directly to www.Hotmail.com you have the same capabilities. Only when she initially signs on with her MSN browser displayed, the way she is use to doing it she does not want to use IE, the problem arises. What to do?

Go to settings, and then Accounts and Import, then Add another email address you own, and follow the simple instructions. I have all my other emails forwarded to Gmail. It makes it easy to just go to one inbox.

My Outlook Express will not forward or send email.

Here is the big error message.

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '[email protected]'. Subject 'Google Earth Image', Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.3 Requested action aborted; user not authenticated', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Can someone tell me what I need to do so I can send and forward?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Answer:Outlook Express Will Not Forward Or Send Email

Hi HowdeeDoodee

Has it ever worked with your MSN account?
In Outlook Express:
Tools > Accounts > (Account Name) > Properties button > Advanced tab

Try changing the Outgoing mail (SMTP) Server port number from 25 to 587.

On the Servers tab, do you have checked: My server requires authentication?
If not, check it.
Apply, OK and Close to save and close.

Try sending a Test message to yourself.

Let us know what happens.

Windows 7, Windows Live Mail, ISP: Verizon, Yahoo. As of April 26 I can no longer send or forward mail that I have downloaded from my ISP. I can perform these functions online @Verizon,Yahoo, but not from Windows Live Mail on my computer offline. I get an error message unable to connect to server Error 0x800CCC0E, socket error 10060. Dealing with Microsoft forums is useless, they don't respond. Is there any way to determine which is the problem (Windows Live Mail or My ISP)? Also how can I unistall Windows Live Mail?

Answer:Solved: Unable to send or forward email

.. but not from Windows Live Mail on my computer offline ...Click to expand...

I assume you didn't mean that, as you can't send or receive mail or anything else internet-wise while offline. But if you did mean it the fix is easy.

To uninstall Windows Live Mail depending on the system you go into Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features and uninstall/remove Windows Live Essentials. You will get the choice to uninstall all, some or just the mail application.

first time with this problem in 10+ years of using email; hope you can help.

Am running HP, 3.2g cpu, 1.5g ram, Office 2003.

I was going thru Inbox, decided to forward some email. Everything was proceeding normally; I was able to forward six emails. On the seventh forward, Outlook froze up when "Forward" was clicked. I waited & finally ended program thru Task Manager.
I tried again 3 more times, same problem. I rebooted, same problem. I tried "Reply", same problem. I tried "Send", same problem. I scanned Outlook .pst file with both AVG & Malwarebytes, found nothing. I did a Detect & Repair thru Outlook Help Menu, did not help. I sent & forwarded a test mail from GMAIL, & that came thru O.K.

so, bottom line is:unable to send, reply or forward email using Outlook 2003.

Any Ideas?

Hi,
I recently downloaded about 350 email messages from hotmail to Outlook express.
The thing is I want to send them all to another email account.

I can forward them one by one but it will take for ever.

Does any one know if I can send them all at once (without having to press "forward" for each one!!) using Outlook or if there is any other program that does it?

Thank You

Answer:Send or forward bulk email from outlook

Just open Outlook and select the emails. Then right click and select the forward items.

On my new pc with win 10 I cannot send , forward emails the message I get back is they have been placed in the drafts folder then that's it. I cannot do anything with them.

Interestingly I have the same win 10 on my old computer and they work fine I suspect that my new one has updated and caused the issue.

The only difference I can see is I have Office 2007 on the old pc and Use Libre office on the new one would Libre cause an issue with outlook ?

While this is a duplicate, rest assured, I have Not solved it and should remain open until.

I have also asked another programmer with a GMail account, and he too has the same problems. He can't see how to Send As. The Help forums and the screen shots differ to that which is currently in the GMail functionality.
As a sister thread to another thread here, I am having problems configuring GMail to appear as though my emails come from a POP-only email address.

Not something that has Ever caused me problems with other SMTP providers in the past, and even more infuriating since the web seems to be full of advice as to how to easily do this.

The problem is, all other threads, and GMail threads as well, instruct to do this in a way that the Settings page no longer allows.

In essence, I need to Send As, as well as Reply To my Red Sea email address. The instructions on the Help pages all seem straight forward. But, when going into the Settings>Accounts and Import>Send Email as>Add another email address, contrary to the Help, it now asks me to input the SMTP settings for this Red Sea address...!

All the Help pages make no reference to this. The Forums say all I need to do is click Send Verification, presumably to confirm my Send As address. Consequently, I cannot get past this page. If I had the SMTP addresses, there would be no need to Send As. I would just Send.

Can anyone help here? I have added a screen shot to show what I am faced with.

This one is well crafted and always remember NEVER SEND A PASSWORD thru EMAIL. Gmail Phishing Scam - Never send password in emailhttp://www.seroundtable.com/archives/000878.htmlLast night I received a gmail email from Gmail Team with the subject, "More Gmail invites." I found this email very weird. It continued to read "The Gmail Team is proud to announce that we are offering Gmail free invitation packages to the existing Gmail account holders. By now you probably know the key ways in which Gmail differs from traditional webmail services. Searching instead of filing. A free gigabyte of storage. Messages displayed in context as conversations."Now, normally Gmail gives you invites directly in the top console and does not ask you to fill out information. This email looks really valid, plus it got through Gmail's spam filter. So is it real? I doubt it. But it looks so real. Anyway, it asks you for your current gmail account and password. That is a direct tip that someone is phishing for passwords. Be Careful and look out for this email!COPY OF THE GMAIL PHISHING SCAM CURRENTLY CIRCULATING

What I'd like to have happen is when I click an email address on a web page is to have Firefox go to gmail.com and insert the address in a new email message. Dont use TB Stephanie, but does it have a message rules or filters that you can set to forward mail to Gmail, only thing with this is I don't off hand think it does it out th box for all mail just the selected email addresses from known senders.

Will if no one who used TB has the answer try and read up more on it.

Help me help Mom!

Mom has a new Gmail account and wants to forward her email to Gmail. She has been using Outlook Express 6 and her server (is that the right term?) is sbcglobal. I changed her settings to resemble mine when I started having my email forwarded from Thunderbird (my server is an .edu server through a university), but emails sent to Mom's sbcglobal.net address aren't forwarding to Gmail.

Her settings in Outlook are:

INCOMING MAIL: Pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
OUTGOING MAIL: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

Here are the settings I entered in Gmail (which work for my account):

Under FORWARDING and POP: I checked "Forward a copy of my incoming mail: [her sbcglobal address], and checked "Keep Gmail's copy in the In Box. I checked 1) "POP download ENABLED for all mail, and 2) "When messages are accessed with POP keep Gmial's copy in the In Box."

What am I doing wrong or not doing? Would hugely appreciate any and all help. Thanks!

Hey fellas,

Im using gmail (google apps) to store company's email.
Mail directly endsup into respective user's gmail accounts.
It all work upto this point. All gmail account have POP enabled.

I am running a mail server (hmailserver) on local network. The mail server can fetch mail from regular POP accounts but not GMail's POP as it uses POP over SSL.

Is there an alternate free/opensource mailserver which can fetch local users' mail from his/her respective gmail account (POP SSL).

As some of you might suggest that I can run a mail server directly over the internet and setup domain's MX to point to my IP but I can't; as the net connectivity isn't reliable enough to handle emails thus I wish to use gmail's storage and uptime reliability.

OS no bar but win platform is preferred ya its cheating i know:

I can only send them via Whatsapp and this is really starting to annoy me as the only way round it is to send it to my girlfirends phone via whatsapp then get her to edit the photo for me or send me it back in an email attachment if I want to then send it on elsewhere.
Any ideas why this could be happening?...
Much appreciated!

Hi there, am new to this forum and to VBA so be gentle

I have written/borrowed some code where I attach a worksheet in a temporary file and then attach it in a mail via Lotus Notes.

The problem for me is that I have users that are on different Office versions, 2003 and 2010 - how do I write that so if recognizes both versions ?

The code is a such:

Sub email()

Dim stFileName As String
Dim vaRecipients As Variant
Dim noSession As Object
Dim noDatabase As Object
Dim noDocument As Object
Dim noEmbedObject As Object
Dim noAttachment As Object
Dim stAttachment As String

'Copy the active sheet to a new temporarily workbook.
With ActiveSheet
.Copy
stFileName = .Range("A1").Value
End With

stAttachment = stPath & "\" & stFileName & ".xls"

'delete email button
ActiveSheet.Shapes("EmailBtn").Delete

'Save and close the temporarily workbook.
With ActiveWorkbook
.SaveAs stAttachment
.Close
End With

'Create the list of recipients.
vaRecipients = VBA.Array("***@ccc.com")

'Instantiate the Lotus Notes COM's Objects.
Set noSession = CreateObject("Notes.NotesSession")
Set noDatabase = noSession.GETDATABASE("", "")

'If Lotus Notes is not open then open the mail-part of it.
If noDatabase.IsOpen = False Then noDatabase.OPENMAIL

'Create the e-mail and the attachment.
Set noDocum... Read more

Answer:Excel VBA - attach and send .xls and .xlsx

Nordahl,

You may be able to replace this line of code:
stAttachment = stPath & "\" & stFileName & ".xls"

With this:
If Application.Version = "14.0" Then
stAttachment = stPath & "\" & stFileName & ".xlsx"
ElseIf Application.Version = "11.0" Then
stAttachment = stPath & "\" & stFileName & ".xls"
endif

This will select the version you are creating from(assuming you are in Excel when running the macro), I am not sure you can control the version received.

Here are the settings to access your e-mail messages via POP3:

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example [email protected]
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)

Did not find answer when I searched.I have Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, and IE6, SP2.When I go to a web site and click on File, Send page by email or Send link by email, I get the message box entitled Enter Network Password, asking for user name and password.   How can I get it to go right to the Hot Mail message box so I can send?   In Tools, Internet Options, Programs, the Email section shows Hot Mail, so it should go right to Hot Mail.If I change the Internet Options, Programs, Email section to Yahoo Mail, instead of going to my Yahoo mail, I get a message box with the title Microsoft Exchange Setup Wizard, but it should take me to my Yahoo Mail.Anyone know how I can fix these two to work right?   Thanks much.Anna Ruth

Answer:File, send page by email, send link by email

Since you are using web client based e-mail it won't do this automatically...Copy and paste the links into Hotmail and it should work fine...

I was able to attach files using the combination of gmail and Windows 8. However, since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have been unable to attach the same files in gmail. The Attach files GUI opens, I select the file to attach, click OPEN, and the system goes back to the GUI without linking to the selected attachment. Double-clicking doesn't work, either. No attachment.

Answer:Since I upgraded to Windows 10, I've lost the ability to attach files in gmail. Why?

What browser are you using?
At any rate, trying clearing the internet cache of your PC. For this, I use CCleaner while the PC is in Safe Mode. You can keep your browsing history, but try clearing out the internet cache.
Afterwards, try attaching files again.

For first time yesterday could not forward or send any e-mails in hotmail. Noticed that when the forward or new message page came up, the insert bar; attatchments, word doc etc etc came on for very,very short time then went. Today found that this bar did come on, stayed for about 20 secs then went. On trying to forward or send another e-mail subsequent, the insert bar appeared and then went very very quickly. All other features ok. Can submit stuff like this form, and my non hotmail account is not affected. Have vista, mcafee and malwarebytes which all scan clean. Am baffled, can anyone help please? Thanks

Answer:cant send/forward e-mail in hotmail

Looked at numerous helprooms/forums online and many having this problem which is persistent. There were refs pointing to Silverlight as the problem with different fixes. Most common was to uninstall and reinstall. So uninstalled, but before reinstalling tried to forward and send e-mails. Guess what - they both worked! I have no idea why maybe an auto update caused problem. Am carrying on without Silverlight is OK (any info welcome) but will leave alone "if it aint broke dont fix it" I guess.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and wonder if you are able to help me with something.

I have emails in work (Microsoft Outlook 2000 and 2007) which we only send in an emergency. Broadcast emails. Any of our users can send them.

The problem is that currently I have saved them into a folder and users HAVE to 'forward' them rather than 'send' them (so that they can be used again and stay in the folder) but every so often a user will forget and 'sent' it anyway. I then have to create the broadcast message again.

Is there anyway of locking the each email message so that it could only be forwarded? Or any other way? Perhaps some visual basic code?

I would be really grateful if anyone could help

Chris

I used to be able to go to my picture folder and right click a picture and choose SEND TO by email. Now a window pops up with a picture sizing option, and when I go thru that, it appears to be doing something, but Outlook does not open.

How do I resolve this issue?

Answer:Pictures will not attach to Outlook 2010 with a right click send to

Hello Alicia,

Normally after you go through the "picture size" bit and click on the "Attach" button, you should see a new email window open after a moment in Outlook with the picture attached.

The window may be hidden behind other windows, but you should see Outlook's icon on the taskbar if opened.

If you don't see it, check your drafts in Outlook to see if it may be there.

Hi all,

I have a problem, a client had a setup with another mailserver (Mdaemon), that allowed him to do that.
Anyone knows how to do the same in Exchange? I thought about distribution lists, but I don't think it will work to have a dist. list called [email protected], with the members joe, martin and peter. You can't have an email address with the same name as a distribution list right?

How would you solve this?

Thanks!

Answer:How to forward all the email sent to an email address to 2 other (Exchange 2003)?

You could have [email protected] go to joe, martin, and peter and you can call it [email protected] if you like.

If you are talking about Joe having the e-mail address [email protected] and he wants e-mails to go to martin and peter as well, then you can do that, but it would work best by using Outlook to create the server side rule. Though I have a few issues with that, in that if Joe gets something non-work related it will go to the other two as well.

Also you could create [email protected] if Joe's e-mail address is [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected], or [email protected]

But there is no attachment in my attachment folder of eudora, which means she didn't send me any attachment, so I assume she sent me a link on a graphics JPG.

I can't right click and save those JPG, and I can't seem to view the link assuming it is a link.

Hi; I've read through posts but I didn't seem to find anything pertinent. My office has created new email accounts for everyone, and I've set mine up on my laptop using Microsoft Office Outlook. I've been using an aol screenname to send/receive emails. I'd like to have my emails that are incoming to my AOL account automatically forward to my new email account for reading (maybe temporarily, maybe permanently), while I am in the process of notifying all my correspondents of the change.

Any way to set up AOL to automatically forward my incoming messages, or to set up Microsoft Office Outlook to import them automatically? Or, is there no way?

Also, any easy way to ensure that, if I read my emails on another webmail viewer like roundcube, squirrelmail or horde (three options allied with the agency that is re-doing our website), that my emails will still come up on my Microfsoft Office Outlook email list?

Thank you all! Suzanne

Hello All,

So here's my problem. I have just completed a rollout of Office 2007 at a client. One of the big-wigs is having an issue. He receives emails and can read them and their attachments. But if he attempts to forward or reply to the email Outlook stops responding and must be restarted. The same goes for creating and sending new emails as well. I can't even save a new email as a draft without the whole program crashing. Here is what I have tried. Removing add-ins, disabling security (ESET's NOD32 by the way)even an uninstall/reinstall. For some reason if I start Outlook in safe mode it will work, but that is merely a "band-aid" solution. Please help.
Oh, this is an XP Pro machine w/ Intel Core Duo 1.7GHz CPU and 2GB of RAM in an SBS 2003 environment with Outlook working through Exchange. Thanks.

Answer:Cannot Send/Reply/Forward in Outlook 2007

Starting Outlook disables all of the plugins and 3rd party scanners that load with outlook. Although you've already done it, I'd try disabling as many of the plugins and security parts you can - as it must be one of them causing the crash if safe more works.

When in safe mode, to do Help > Disabled items and it will list some of the things that were disabled.

Outlook email client has a very useful feature where you can 'attach item' which can be another email to the one you are sending . This can be very useful when you want to refer to this email in the new one.
Thunderbird, as far as I can see, does not have this feature.
I know it can be done byopening the email , select all , copy and paste but that is time consuming.
Does anyone know of any addon or other way which can achieve this ?
Thx,

Answer:How to attach something to an email??

Hiya

I take it you are using Outlook Express. There is a paper clip that when yoy place the mouse over it it says Attachment. Then you browse in your computer for it.

If its a Web page, you can do the same if its downloaded or you can type in the URL in the body of the message.

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

TY in advance. Please do help.

What's wrong? the word file is only 43.5 KB in size.and then it showed the message" the file does not contain any data".But my file word contains some data. :-?

Answer:Email Attachment--- Can't Attach

shouvik......Since you didnt provide any info about your O/S ...... I would try the following ....... .......rename your Doc 1 to something else ....... then save a copy of it to your desktop ...... Then try and attach it again ...... If that fails......... right click on the file then choose ...... compress and email to mail recipient .dl65

Wanted to send a friend several files that were in one folder. I sent them fine , but wouldn't it be easier to just send the 'folder' instead of having to click on each file? Using I.E.6 and latest version of Outlook Express.

Answer:Is there a way to attach a 'folder' to an email?

Yes. If you have a program such as Winzip, you can right click on a Folder and zip it. You can then attach the compressed(zipped) folder.

If you want to download winzip

I have been asked to save some info to Notepad & attach it to my email reply, (trying to fix my mbam problem) How do I do this, please?Cannot seem to find help anywhere with this....Thanks in advanceI am running Windows XP PRO SP 3.0 32 bit

Answer:How to attach a Notepad doc to an email

As best I know "all" email utilities (on-line - pop3 - email application, and MS Office\Outlook & Express) allow you to attach a file or folder.Which email application are you actually using?When you create your Notepad document you simply save it, and remember where you put it. That is the location where you go to when attaching the file.You may not have notepad installed, possibly you have wordpad instead? Both create text files (txt) so either would do.To start either application, go to Start\run and then type notepad or wordpad and press enter.If you don't have either installed they can be downloaded for free.

Using Outlook Express 6 in Windows XP SP2, when I try to attach a digital photo file to an email, it attaches in the full size (full number of KB), which is too large--takes too long to send and receive and won't fit on a page. When I open the picture in MyPictures (in Word 2002) and click on "send this by email", a form to send an email pops up. I can enter an address and a message, but there is no way to send that email. I know there is a way to do this because of pictures I have received, but I can't find it. Thank you for the help.

Answer:Attach images in email

ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

paste this into Google search and download and run it (from Microsoft.)
It allows you to right click on a photo and make a reduced size named PHOTOXXXsmall.jpg and doesn't affect the original. That small photo is perfect for emailing.
attached example is 69k (November photo from my deck-nice huh ?_

When I try to do this, I'm only allowed to attached one file at a time. Email is the only way I can transfer data from a very old Windows 98 machine to a newer XP model and at this rate, XP will be redundant before I've moved all the data!

Answer:How do I attach whole folders to an email

Add them to a zip folder first - select them all, right click on one of them and choose 'send to' and compressed folder. This creates a zipped folder alongside the original files and you can attach this to your e-mail.You need XP or zip program (eg winzip) for this to work and the recipient needs similar
