Intel 5350 Wifi driver update

Question: Intel 5350 Wifi driver update

Hi, I installed the latest driver version 14.3 ( 14.2.0.10 ) available at Lenovo site on my T400 running Vista 64 SP2 http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-72858 However the driver version seen in the 5350 adapter properties still show old version i.e. 13.04.000 (13.4.0.139 ) I tried to update the driver from the adapter properties but it says your system has latest driver. I tried re-install but didn't help Any idea what could be the problem and how to fix it? Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Intel 5350 Wifi driver update

Hey there samurai123,

Have you tried to uninstall the driver, download the driver to your desktop, and install it manually? Sometimes I find that this works when the version number does not update. Look forward to hearing back from you, Thanks!

I just configured another W700, and now, several components are not in stock. The usual suspects being the SSD drives, but now also the Intel WiFi Link 5350 card. I hope I can still change my order, and go with the Intel WiFi Link 5300, as WiMAX is likely going to be dropped by Sprint, the third largest cellular carrier (out of four), although Sprint says it will keep on fighting what many are looking at as a dead technology, although it still has other big companies backing WiMAX.

I recently purchased a Lenovo T400 with the Intel 5350 wireless card (same as the 5300 but with WiMax), and, like a lot of other people on this forum, I could not get the wifi to consistently work. I spent several frustrating days searching these forums and trying pretty much every solution offered (XP 32 bit, Vista 32 bit, Vista 64 bit, w/ & w/out Access Connections, w/ & w/out Intel software, Lenovo drivers vs. Intel drivers, etc.). However, in the end, the solution was totally unrelated. What I found was that when I was using WEP security on my Linksys WRT54G router (v5 w/ the latest firmware) I could not get wifi to work consistently. In most cases it was hard to get it to work at all. In other cases it might work after a reboot for a few minutes, then stop working again. However, as soon as I either turned off security or changed it to WPA2-Personal, wifi worked like a charm. I was originally thinking about returning the laptop, since no wifi makes it pretty much unusable. But, with this finding I think I will keep it. Since it is obviously a driver issue, I'm going to assume there will be a driver update in the near future to fix the problem. Hope this helps some of you who are having the same problems!

Answer:Intel 5300/5350 Intermittent Wifi Solution - Don't use WEP security!

That is a fascinating solution to the intermittent mess the Intel cards can go into. Never would have thought secrurity and encryption would affect the performance. For what it's worth, go into the properties of the wireless card in Device Manager. Go to the Advanced Tab. Set "Roaming Aggressiveness" slider to the lowest, "Power Managment" to lowest, and "Transmit Power" to highest. These were solutiosn that I've run across and fixed the problem for me (I have the regular 5300, hope you will get to use and enjoy WiMax).

Hello, I have searched the forums to see if there is a similar problem like the one I am having, but, did not come across. I bought my T500 in 2009 with XP installed. I have recently installed Windows 8.1 and started to experience problems with my Intel Wifi 5350. Upon restart, the driver is unable to connect to my home wifi. In order to connect, I need to go through trouble shooting and reset the wifi link, which, then, fixes the problem. When I first installed Windows 8.1, I did not have this problem. It seemed to have happened after a few auto updates. The driver software I have is 13.3.0.137 with a date of 8/15/2010. Driver provider is Microsoft.  I downloaded but not yet installed Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.1 Wireless_17.1.0_De164.exe. I am not sure if this will fix it. I wanted to ask this first before I do something. If you have had this before or know the answer, could you please post specific links to which drivers I should install manually? Thanks! I appreciate if you could be specific in your responses as I am not super tech savvy.

Can I use intel 5350 wireless card replace 4965 card?

Answer:does intel 5350 wimax/wifi wireless card work on X300?

Yes but you must make sure the card has Lenovo' s PCI ID for that card. It will NOT work without BIOS hack with the generic Intel card otherwise. I have a working 5350 in my X300 (Replaced 4965).

So I downloaded drivers from here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73642 This resolved the issue with the WiMax drivers I believe. There is still missing one driver called "Network Controller" I believe this is a WiFi section of my Intel 5350 card. Here is screen of this: As I said, Access connections doesnt see any wifi card at all. I tried downloading and installing random drivers but it didnt help.  Please help

T510, XP 32bit. Running system update, it has now been stuck on the "WiFi Driver for Intel Cards (For windows xp 32bit)" installation going on 4 hours+ now.  This has happened with like model's / OS and the result is usually to force a reboot. And manually install it. Any suggestions why system update takes hours to install the WiFi Driver for Intel Cards (For windows xp 32bit)?

Answer:System Update Stalls at WiFi Driver for Intel Cards

It's hung for some reason and not actually installing  anything. Cancel the installation. Uninstall the WiFi card in XP and reboot so that its rediscovered and drivers will be searched for or direct it to the one you want to install.

Hey Guys, on my T540p, I configured the rapid start technology according to  http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/rapid_start_technology_user_guide.pdf Since I have performed a BIOS update to 2.14  and an update of the Intel Wifi driver to 17.0.5, I experience the problem of battery drain when the computer is in S4 sleep state, at a rate of approximately 0.125% per hour (on the 56Wh battery). This was not the case before these updates. There was no noticable power drain in S4 sleep state, even not over multiple days. I'm using Win7, I set all the WoL capabilities both in BIOS and in the Intel driver to disabled, according to  https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/Battery-drain-when-powered-down-Y410P/td-p... External device USB charge settings are also fully disabled in BIOS and Power Manager. The problem does not occur when the system is fully shut down, but in S4 Sleep state, which should be a zero-power state too, as it was before the updates. In the details of the BIOS update it is stated " Fixed an issue where the computer might fail to enter sleep state". Could the power drain be a side effect of this fix? Or is it an issue with the (new) Wifi driver, as it was the case for the Y410P? How could this battery drain be avoided? Has anybody experienced the same issue?Best, Martin

I recently upgraded my factory installed intel 5300 to and intel 5350and I am having problems getting it to work. I am running vista ultimate 64. I have installed the drivers from lenovo and intel. Vista detected it as an intelwimax 2400 but when I installed the drivers it say "intel wimax 5350 link" and intel wimax 5350 function driver". I can"t even control them with the hardware on/off switch. Can anyone help?

Answer:W700 with intel 5350 help

Sorry to hear about your troubles. WiMAX may never take off. Sprint is boasting about 4G...in Baltimore. lol...And the company CLEAR has acquired it I believe. My order hasn't been shipped, so I'm going to the 5300. This order delay is crazy. A tracking number would please me, or an update. Anyway, see if the company CLEAR (not to be confused with Clearwire) has 64-bit drivers. I highly doubt it. AT&T and Verizon are going 4G LTE. Sprint just doesn't have the footprint. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I just installed Intel 5350 card in my laptop. with 3 antennae connections. I guess 2 antennae  are from Wifi  and one for WiMax. Is it right? For some reason, the Wifi speed is shown as 130Mbps. The router I'm using is DIR-685 which supports 300Mbps.  Shouldn't the speed be around 300Mbps? Thanks

Answer:T400 with Intel 5350

I'm not exactly sure but I think the 5350 shares the three antennas between Wifi (uses all three antennas) and WiMax (uses probably two). To achieve 300 Mbit/s for WLAN (the 5350 should achieve even 450 Mbit/s with an appropriate router) you have to change the channel width of the card to 40 MHz instead of the default 20 MHz.To do this (i) open device manager, (ii) find your Intel card in the network adapters section, (iii) right click and choose properties, (iv) select advanced tab, (v) for channel width (2.4 or 5.2 band, depending on which one you use, but you can safely set it for both) choose "auto" instead of "20 MHz" You should then be able to achieve the maximum transfer rate your router is capable of.

Hello.  I've noticed through the Support Assist program that I have two updates for the Intel WiFi driver and the chipset.  However, repeated attempts to update them have resulted in errors.  Downloading the WiFi driver separately from Dell's website, and then attempting to run it there, have led to the same result.  Tonight, I tried to update the WiFi driver again.  This time, the installer opened up a command prompt window with mup.exe, then the Intel window came up and said the installation was blocked because a newer version was already on the system.
How can I tell whether or not I even need the updates SupportAssist keeps pushing to me?  And if I don't, why does it keep pushing them to me?
Thank you in advance for your help.

The WiMAX card is Pci-e. It will work. All you need to do is take the memory panel off and pop out the old wlan card. You can install the driver first to complicate things less. It is found here. Where are you using WiMAX? It's only in a few cities.

Answer:Lenovo Z50-70 CANNOT UPDATE Intel WiFi adapter drivers (Intel AC 3160)

What WiFi adapter is shown in Device manager? I have been scheptical of whether the current Lenovo offerings are up to speed on Win 10 many drivers are 1st releases. They pulled the listing for drivers on the T520 and I updated that just to see what might happen although I got it working its sluggish for that system. WiFi is marginal with the MS drivers and Lenovo offers nothing for it now. I tried to search on my Z70 but I was unable to determine which adapter was specifically installed. 3 were listed in Lenovo build spec's but that still did not tell me which one is in only the family name.

I used dell to detect my system and then recommend drivers.  It recommended an update for my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.  My current driver is version 18.33.3.2.  Dell recommended an update to 18.40.0.9. However, the file that actually downloaded is for version 18.20.0.9 (Network_Driver_VJY7Y_WN32_18.20.0.9_A01.EXE - this is how it shows in my windows explorer).  I guess it could just be a mislabeling by someone and it is the newest version.  But the system detects that it is at least listed as being older than my current version and stops the install.

Dell should correct this.  Do you know if there is actually an update to my version?  Link to driver page below:

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is 14.40.26.4474 which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

Please anyone from Lenovo please tell me if this was related to my machine or to the driver installer package.  Btw when I'm inking this message in Tip your toolbox popped up and crashed. I use x200t with win 7 64bit us eng. Model type is 7448-cto. I have intel 5350 wifi.   Charles

Answer:wifi driver for intel cards (for win 7 64bit)

I run a W510 Win7 x64 and got the same recommendation from TVSU to install this driver. Apparently W510 support has been temporarily discontinued but then reinstated as regards this driver and software. I therefore at present do not have any version of it on my system.  My question is: is there any good reason I would want to waste neary 1 GB of space to install this thing, when at present my wifi is working just fine? The update readme just mentions incremental fixes etc but does not give an overarching purpose for the package as a whole. What is it for and do I really need it if my wifi is working just fine as is? Thanks, Peter

My INSPIRON 3459 attempts to update this driver, but it always fails. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Management Console. I have no idea why, but it keeps scanning, downloading, installing: Failure. Anything I should do to get this to install. There is also another Driver that is failing as well. But this never succeeds.

Hi,
I'm a little confused by one of my update options. I was under the impression that windows 7 was using wddm 1.1, and that the wddm 1.0 drivers have been available for quite some time. I checked and the driver I have is wddm 1.0, released 10/28/2008, version number 8.15.10.1590. So why am I being given the option to update to 'pre-release wddm 1.0'? I tried to get more information to check the version number, but I am just redirected to Winqual Help , which doesn't help me any.

I'd like to test out the wddm 1.1 drivers, and I've read that they're available for 7, but I don't think that these are those drivers, unless there is a typo in the driver title.

yes thats right....

wddm is just a driver model...
its up to the manufacture (here intel) to release wddm 1.1 driver
so until then (most likely they wont) they have to release a wddm 1.1

Windows Display Driver Model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
that should be a good read....

what they mean pre-release means that these drivers are beta drivers (there is a difference between pre-release drivers and pre-release wddm 1.1 drivers)

I recently set up a new Dell 7710 Precision Workstation (Xeon E3-1535M v5 w/Intel HD Graphics P530; Nvidia Quadro M5000M; Windows 7 Pro). The Dell Precision Optimizer (DPPO) tells me there are no updates at all (no Critical, Recommended, or Optional). However, the Intel Driver Update Utility tells me I have an older chipset (14.6.1.1030) that should be replaced by a newer chipset (10.0.27). I don't know if the DPPO is taking into account particular aspects of this system that make the 14.6.1.1030 the “correct” (even if not the latest) chipset. Perhaps the DPPO should override the Intel utility. Any thoughts?

Answer:Driver Updates: DPPO vs. Intel Driver Update Utility

I uninstalled a driver on purpose to test the dell optimizer utility and it is telling me no updates available ! I rebooted the laptop. same thing. In device manager the device is showing as other device with a yellow exclamation mark  !!!! How do I trust the optimizer now eh ?

I purchased my T500 within the first week Lenovo had it available for US consumers to order.  I was assured the machine was going to come with a WiMax card.  I gave it to my daughter to use.  We never tested WiMax since we did not have WiMax in our city until October of last year.  Came to find out, our machine did not come with a WiMax card as was promissed.  It has in it the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN card instead.  Needless to say, I no longer feel comfortable ordering from Lenovo anymore.  We got seven laptops in the house.  Five of which are ThinkPads.  However, we've moved over to Samsung after this unpleasant experience. Today I wanted to see if there's an updated version of the driver I'm running for my WiFi card, to my unpleasant surprise, the driver for the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN card in my T500 does not exist anywhere at www.lenovo.com.  I only see drivers for the Intel 5150 and the Intel 5350 cards. Does anybody out there have any idea where I can find the latest driver for the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN in my duped T500 laptop?  Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer:T500 - Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN Driver

In the T500 driver matrix you will find the following entry;

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000, Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200/ 6205, Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250,Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300,Intel PRO/Wireless 3945BG, 3945ABG Network Connection, Intel WiFi Link 1000/ 5350, Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG/ 4965AGN

Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows XP 08 Sep 2011 14.02.0000

I am trying to set up a fresh installation of Windows Server 2016 as a development machine on my T430, type 2349-H2G. Unfortunately, when trying to install the driver for the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 network adapter to enable wireless LAN, the driver set-up fails with the message: A service installation section in this INF is invalid The wireless adapter worked fine as recently as yesterday on Windows Server 2012, but I am unaware if any special steps were taken to install the driver under that OS as I "inherited" the notebook from a former colleague. Is there any advice you can give about things I could try? I already tried manually installing the drivers from both the Lenovo website (Win10) and Intel website (Win8.1 and 7), but all of them had the same issue. I am a sophisticated user and am not afraid to edit .inf files or somethign similar if necessary, but I don't know where to start. Thanks in advance for any help you might render

Hello. I have the Intel 5300 Wifi Link. AGN driver is v 14.2.0.10. When I run the system update it tells me there is a "Intel Wireless WiFi for Windows 7 32-bit" driver version 13.04.0000. The question is which driver is best to run? The older or newer even though the system update is telling me there is an older version available.  2nd question: What is the best way to verify the model of wifi hardware installed?

Okay, recently whenever i visit a page sometimes it will pop up into either a java update page with a smaller box saying to download something and this is the same for the intel driver update page also. But even more recently i have noticed that another popup has started to appear where it would turn the current page into a page saying you have a virus etc. And in the smaller popup box it says you must contact a phone number. Now i am not stupid enough to click anything on them pages or contact any phone number it provides.Another issue is that when i am not in chrome and i click a link to a weblink from something such as skype, it will open up another 4 tabs after the one i need to be on. I have used Malwarebytes, AVG, Combofix, iObit to scan the computer yet i have still got the issue. This is all on Chrome and i am on Windows 7. I have also removed any suspicious programs.

Please can somebody help, ASAP!

P.S - When i used combofix it easily took over an hour and i have done it 2 times now.

Recently I've been using Intel Driver update utility to keep my drivers in check with what's up to date, but for a while now I've noticed I can't get this spicific one.  It's been bugging me for a while and I'd like to get it updated so this notification will go away.  Where might I go about getting said driver?  I've already looked in the drivers area of the XC603G on the main site.  You're my last hope, Fourms.

Recently Windows updated my Intel HD Graphics 630 driver. A few days later the same driver was released on Dell's driver support page.
Is there any correlation between Windows Update and Dell's drivers? Who does update the drivers Microsoft themselves or Dell needs to release the driver to Microsoft?
As this is the first time when Windows updated the driver is this how the Intel HD Graphics drivers are to be kept up-to-date via Windows Update?

Answer:Windows Update vs Dell Update - Intel HD Graphics 530/630 Driver

ZINGAM,
Referring to the Intel HD graphics driver.
Windows gets code from Intel for the driver and they will implement it in the OS. Dell also gets code from Intel and will release it. Also, Intel will post the driver on their site to download. You can uninstall the Microsoft driver if you choose and install the Dell update driver.

Windows Update is not telling me I need or can update my Wireless networking, but Intel's Update Driver Utility says I should and is offering the update. How would you recommend I proceed?

Answer:Should I trust Intel's Driver Update utility or Windows Update?

G'day Rolo,

The difference between the two drivers is that the Windows one is digital signed/tested by Microsoft. I would say that unless the Intel one delivers more benefit than the Windows one, and everything works as expected, then there is no need to update.

You often see this with graphics card drivers too, for example.

Golden

Dear all,  About 2 years ago i upgraded my win 7 to win 10 version and wirelss stopped working. this problem is well known. Many attempts with netsh id config, reset IP, reinstall drivers, trough a USB whatever, nothing worked. I must conclude that the intel WIFI 5100 driver is incompatible with windows 10. I cannot anymore revert my win 10 upgrade sadly.  My question is whether i can install an older version or another driver type that is compatible on windows 10 ??? if so i would gladly have the driver link or zip file posted  Thanks PS, also my touchpad scrolling feature stopped working, i dont know if this could be related, just in case it could help figuring out where the problem is but i guess its just incompatibility.

Two day ago I used ThinkVantage SYstem Update and installed Intel Wifi link driver (ver 13.01.1000). But since then my computer was randomly cut off internet connection, and the wireless signal strength icon on the system tray indicated no nearby wireless network. And then it powered off the wireless connection. Whatever I do, I cannot re-power on the wireless (I used Access Connection to power on the 802.11 wireless radio, but it could not be turned on and nothing happened) unless I restart the computer. I thought it might be the router that malfunctioned as this problem never happened before. But after I checked the router and used another notebook to test wireless connection, I was sure the router ran very well. Then I re-installed the TVT Access Connection (ver 5.61) and the Intel WIFI Link Driver (ver 13.01.1000) but the problem remained. Could anybody give a possible solution?  I also noticed on Lenovo's website, the Intel wireless card driver for T61 is v13.00.0000 Windows Vista 23 Oct 2009. It's lower than what I have now. Could that be the cause? My ThinkPad T61 has the following configuration:Model: T61 8897CTOOS: WinVista Home Basic SP2 32bitLanguage: ENWireless Card: Intel 3945 ABGWireless Card Driver: 13.1.1.1 (previous one was 13.0.0.0)TVT Access Connection: 5.61

Answer:New Intel WIFI Link Driver Randomly cut off Internet Connection

Hi carlven,Anytime when wireless driver is updated, Access Connections also needs to be reistalled.Do this, first uninstall your wireless driver and access connections, thereafter reboot your system. Then install wireless driver first, again reboot, subsequently install access connections, reboot again. When installing any lenovo driver manually, keep in mind they first extract themselves to a default location in C:\Drivers..., second .exe setup must be run from that location to successfully install the drivers.Hope it helps.

Hi,

hope someone can help me with more knowledge than me regarding drivers.

I just got a new Intel Wifi card AC 8265 and want (need) to install on Win10 x32 and there is no driver available.
Only Win10-64 bit support by Intel and Win7-32 both working well, but not usable for Win10 x32, finds no driver.

Luckily I had a Win7x32 installation on another HDD inserted on the PC and searched for the Win10x32 driver there as well and what should I say, found there a singnated driver that works now on Win10x32.

It seems that they provide support for Win7->10 updates but not directly for Win10, refuses everything.

Now my question: how can I save the necessary driver files to make a clean install?
There are vwifibus.sys Netwsn04.sys Netwtn04.sys mentioned in driver details, but cant install with them, there is no .inf with 8265 card only a oem40.inf with 7265 driver.
Card is correctly shown as Intel pro AC 8265 and working with driver version 19.10.10.2, no need for unsigned driver or wrong 7265 driver to use, but I cant get it any more!
Has been found only in Win7 installation, and I dont have this HDD any more.
Driver details from Win7 or 10 x32:
Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
16.10.2017
19.10.10.2
Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility

There must be a way to extract the needed drivers/files for Win10x32 from Win7 but dont know how to do ...
I cant believe that I will have to install Win7 prior to a Win10 only to get this wifi driver running.

Additional setup info:Dual HDDs (Win7 Pro & XP Pro)
XP Pro ? LAN & WiFi work fine (orig. configuration from Dell)
Win7 ? neither LAN nor WiFi work (Win7 added after purchase)
I was working on setting up an outdoor WiFi antenna a couple of days ago when my problems started. I was working in Win7, which I had not been using that often. My LAN connection was not working, and I realized the driver had not been installed. I downloaded it from Dell?s website and installed it. I received an error message about SNMP service not being installed. I turned the service from disabled to auto. I do not know if my LAN adapter is now working. That is my first problem. My second problem happened when even though my WiFi card had been working fine, I decided to see if its driver had been updated. It was not. I believe a Microsoft driver was installed. It was working just fine though (smile), so I had to mess with it. I downloaded the driver from Del??s website and installed it. That is when my problems started. The WiFi card has not worked since. First I realized I installed the wrong driver. I uninstalled it and installed the correct one. I even restored the system to before I messed with any drivers. No luck. My WiFi card still does not work. The iNtel utility states it fails the hardware test and passes the driver test. Windows 7 states it cannot find any wireless networks (if I switch to XP Pro everything works). I am at a loss and very frustrated. Can anyone help me please?

After a Lenovo update of wifi components, I can no longer enable Intel My Wifi Technology. Solutions I have tried so far: -Uninstalling Intel ProSet/Wireless software and Intel Widi and reinstalling with latest versions from Intel website (installing Proset first, then Widi, with reboots in between) -Reinstalling latest Wireless LAN driver from Lenovo -Accessing ProSet/Wireless from uninstall program list, click change/next/change, removing My Wifi fromProSet features; reinstalling My Wifi to ProSet features. Icon in tray continues to say:"Intel My Wifi Technology: Adapter not Found"Intel My Wifi Utility is only option available on clicking icon (all others greyed out). Utility is set to Enable on Startup and to Never Disconnect.Never had a problem with it until a few days ago. Even tried a system restore to before the Lenovo update, with no luck. Anyone have other ideas for me?

Answer:Intel My Wifi Adapter Not Found after update--cannot restore it

Hi lectrolink,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community,

I'm really sorry to hear about the wireless issues your facing and I hope we get this sorted out for you. Based on your post there maybe some conflict in the software that needs some adjustment. However in order for me to assist you further could you let me which machine you currently have?

From there it would be easier for me to determined which specific drivers you may need.

Do let me know.

regards

I have an HP Envy 34 AIO and had the same thing happen. I tried to roll back the drivers, but to no avail. I also did a system restore to gain back connectivity, but the updates kept coming. Ultimately, I had to use an Ethernet cable to get connected. Hopefully another update will come out soon to re-enable the Wi-Fi adapter.

Upgrading Intel wireless driver on Intel AC-3165 to 18.40.0.9 causes wifi to fail and cannot find any access points within range. The upgrade adds a 'new' device to device manager called 'Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter'. This new device has a yellow exclamation next to it. Uninstaling the new device does not resolve the issue. Only rolling back the driver to 18.33.0.1 or 18.32.1.2 recovers wifi connectivity. Can someone please explain how to troubleshoot this? Thanks.

Hi good people,

So, I'm on here like thousands of others with intermittent wifi issues. I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 yesterday and everything works very well except for losing my wifi connection every 30 minutes to an hour.

My wireless adapter is a Broadcom 802.11n
the driver I'm using is Broadcom version 6.30.223.256

I've updated the drivers and the same loss of wifi happens. I've rolled back the drivers and the same loss of wifi happens. I've even tried a driver directly from the lenovo site that is a Cybertan Liteon driver that is the latest version for windows 8.1.

I've also unchecked the box in the power management page. Then rebooted.

I've also used all the commands, in the command prompt admin that start with 'netsh'. Then rebooted. The same thing still happens.

So, I'm up for new suggestions including compatible drivers from different manufacturers.

I'm really hoping there's a Z585 user on here that has solved this issue. According to the Lenovo web site this particular laptop has the latest drivers on the site and none of them are working so far.

Answer:Lenovo Z585 losing wifi after driver update, driver rollbacks, 'fixes'

First, is your laptop supported for windows 10 on lenovo website.....meaning are there drivers and software packages for it? Have you tried downloading the 8.1 driver for it and then running it in compatibility mode?

Answer:T61p Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965 AGN driver upgrade

did you download the Lenovo driver, or did you down load the driver from Intel? Lenovo writes alot of their own drivers for things like wifi cards, its possible that by downloading Intel's driver, it isn't compatable with thinkpads.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T400s (Type 2801). I've recently been having trouble with slow speed, in particular with downloads and the internet. I tried several things; a couple times I thought I had found the source of the problem (disabled Java and other extraneous add-ons), but unfortunately it still takes a long time to transfer to and from sites on the internet and normally simple downloads take 10x longer to complete. I contacted tech support, and I was advised to go to ThinkVantage system updates. I discovered that I had several updates to perform, one of which was to update to Intel Wireless Wifi for Windows 7 64-bit (I currently have 32-bit). I was able to complete almost every other update except the wireless mentioned. I tried two times and was unable to complete the download. Is there any underlying reason why my comp might not be able to do this?

I have exactly the same problem - W510 Windows7 64bit. I tried (several times) to update the Intel Wifi for Windows7 64-bit from System Update, where it is being offered as "Optional" component. Progress stops at 91% always and never reaches the end.

I bought this laptop for my father to use and like many, he didn't care for Windows 8. So, I did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional.  I have been unable to find a driver that will work for the Network Controller (Intel wifi link 5300 agn).  The drivers you can download on the Lenovo site do not work (click here). Please, can anyone assist with this?  This computer is useless to him unless we can get the wireless working. The LAN isn't working either. Thanks so much for any input you can provide.

Hi, I have an X61 with Vista Business 32bits and the Wireless card (Intel Wifi 4965AGN) does not work anymore. Here is the chronology of events: - A few days ago I realized that the Fn+F5 hot key was not working.- I tried to solve this problem by uninstalling the Intel wifi driver and reinstalling.- Uninstall was OK. When I restarted the computer, the system automatically detected the Wifi card as new hardware and tried to install the driver, but I got an error message "Unable to open the driver specific registry key for this device".- I have tried to uninstall and install the driver several times but I have been unable to fix the problem.- I have downloaded the latest driver from the Intel and Lenovo websites but the problem persists.- When I access the device manager there is an exclamation point on the Wifi4965AGN. If i try to update driver it returns a message saying thatthe driver is up to date.- I have tried to recover the system from the last backup point but when the system restarts it says that there was an undetermined error in the recovery and that it didn't happen. It seems like there is something wrong in my Windows registry but I don't know enough to solve it. It doesn't seem like a big problem because I actually created it by trying to fix the Fn+F5 problem so I should be able to solve it! Any ideas before I reinstall Windows?

Answer:X61 Vista32: Cannot install driver for Intel Wifi 4965AGN (unable to open registry key)

You may want to check the following again just to be sure everything was done 1) Make sure the correct driver for Intel Wifi 4965 AGN is installed (Do you have XP or Vista?)2) Use System Restore (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Systems Tools -> System Restore) to rollback your settings to an earlier calendar date prior to the  time the issue has occurred. Were you trying to restore using Microsoft's System Restore, or using the Rescue and Recovery tool? If this fails, you may need to reload Windows.Power off, then power on and tap F11 repeately to access Rescue and Recovery from our recovery partition.  Hope this helps, Mark

I have a laptop with an Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN nic

1) Shows up in Device manager as healthy
2) Has latest driver as per manufacturer (hp elitebook 6930p) running win2008R2 server.
3) keyboard wifi indicator lites up
4) Device shows up as active in networking devices

however, I cannot see any wireless ssid's to associate with.
I checked mfg web site for latest drivers and the intel web set for the adapter itself. After many downloads of win8 and win7 driver bundles (no support for win2008r2 apparently) I have not found a solution yielding a fix. I did stumble across a Intel proset/Wireless wifi software utility manual diagnostic tool v15.6.0.0. When it runs, i get:

"Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver"

To be exact:
#Event,Source,Time,Error Severity,Domain,User,Description
1,Manual Diagnostic,04/12/2013 15:57:12,Warning,Unknown,Administrator,Hardware Test
- Result : Failed, Summary : Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver

With the same tool i can run it manually on just selecetd tests (hardware, driver, radio, scan, associate, auth, signal, ping)
All of them fail (as expected except the driver test:

To be exact:
#Event,Source,Time,Error Severity,Domain,User,Description
1,Manual Diagnostic,04/12/2013 16:00:07,Warning,Unknown,Administrator,Driver Test
- Result : Passed, Summary : Driver is loaded. NETwNs64 Version :14.3.2.1

The driver test passes, just not the link to the transport apparently. Not sure how to fix this.

Hi thereI have a problem with updating my intel driver on my Aspire v3-772. Currently my driver page states that version10.18.10.3355 is the latest, but the problem begins when i run intel driver update utility and try to install the latest driver 15.36.31.4414 straight from intel. The program installs normally and asks to restart my laptop to apply the final changes but after reboot when i run the intel driver update utility it states that my driver still needs to be updated again with the same driver software meaning the previous installation didn't install properly. Is there a way to install the latest driver or a way to contact acer to update their custom intel driver for my laptop? PS - I tried unistalling the previous version from acer then installing the version from intel it didn't work

Answer:please update intel driver

You can get the latest driver 10.18.15.4256 dated 20/08/15 for your model from here:http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/4732?b=1Intel's latest drivers may have been released to accommodate provisions for newer cpu and other hardwares, you don't need newer drivers for your system function properly IMHO. I would suggest you to leave Windows to decide which drivers suitable for your system and if you are not happy, get the drivers from Acer download site. HTH.

I downloaded and ran the Intel (R) Driver Update Utility on my ASUS X54C Laptop which is running Win 8.1

I found it at: Intel® Driver Update Utility

I ran the utility and the utility found two updates which I downloaded as per the screenshot below.

My questions are

(1) .. should I install these two updates?
(2) .. is there any risk in installing the updates?

I should mention that I have not had any problems with my laptop and am wondering if I should leave well alone?

Answer:Intel (R) Driver Update Utility

The Intel driver update utility is safe. These are Generic drivers though, if your not experiencing any problems there's no need to download them if your X54C came with windows 8. The version changes are minimal the chipset for example is for newer hardware(the x54c is at least 3 years old) and the HD graphic are changes for specific video games/screen hardware. Because they are generic drivers provided from Intel and have not been cleared through ASUS there is always a minimal(however small) possibility that it might cause problems and have to roll back which is easy(happened to me once). Best is to go here and see if there are any updates.

The newest graphics drivers for the Thinkpad P50 contain Intel driver version 21.20.16.4550 (the latest available from the Support site). This version of the driver (as well as older versions) has a bug which causes Google Chrome to jitter when in full screen and moving the mouse around the page. (See http://crbug.com/672448 .) Intel has released a version of the drivers (21.20.16.4590) which is reported to fix this problem. I tried to install the updated driver from Intel, but the installer tells me that I can't because I need a driver version customized by Lenovo instead. Is there some way around that to install the new Intel driver? Will it hurt in any way to do that? Is there some way to get Lenovo to release a new set of drivers with the updates from Intel? Thanks!

Any way to clean install the new driver? Thanks

Answer:Unable to update Intel LAN driver

That would be because there is not a new one. The driver is only updated if there are security flaws, or changes in removing outdated code.

Those driver packages, actually cover a wide range in that chip series.

So the Intel HD driver for the W540 - and all Optimus laptops from this generation - is 10.18.15.4256. It was released by Intel in August 2015, and it is so old that it still lists the current Win10 build as an Insider one. (Not even mentioning the Nvidia driver, which is also several months out of date). Meanwhile, the Intel-only laptops with the same GPU, such as the T440s or T540p, are on version 20.19.15.4416, released by Intel in March 2016. This driver is miles ahead of the Optimus T540ps and W540/1s. Will we ever see an update?

I have a Thinkpad R61 with an onboard Intel GM965 and running Vista Home Basic. The current (v7.14.10.1437) version of this video driver has serious issues in many low requirements games (such as World of Warcraft). I noticed that Lenovo published updated drivers for Windows XP in January, but has not updated the Vista drivers since April last year. Is Lenovo not supporting this operation system anymore? I have tried updating from the Intel page, but it tells me I need a customized manufacturer driver. Just to be clear, I know for a fact that it's the driver causing the issues I'm experiencing in games (e.g., the "driver stopped responding but has recovered" error). I forced the installation of the latest intel drivers and the games are working fine. However, my display is unusable on battery power if I use anything but the manufacturer drivers. So I can either have a fully functional work laptop, but with no gaming, or a laptop that can do gaming, but cannot be used if unplugged from the power chord. Sigh.... If there are any Lenovo support people on this forum, I'd like to know if I can expect any driver updates for this video processor on Vista in the near future.

Answer:intel x58 chipset driver update

HI. Since when this happens? .. Note that if it is to root the new hardware will have to remove it and see if it happens without it, you can remove the CMOS battery and do a hard reset to the bios and try, maybe you will have to update The bios and see if it solves this.If the driver is from the official page, this should not be the problem, you can try device manager and get the hardware ID and look for a previous driver, not always a current one works the same way. Regards.
