what kind of cards are compatible with a 6-in-1 memory card ...

Question: what kind of cards are compatible with a 6-in-1 memory card ...

I have a HP Pavilion p6-2220t, Product number: B3F79AV#ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1. It is four years old. It has a 6-in-1 memory card reader. I have never used it and want to now. I have tried and tried but I cannot find out what kind of cards are compatable. Does anyone here know? Or do you know where I can get this information? Thank you in advance.

Preferred Solution: what kind of cards are compatible with a 6-in-1 memory card ...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:On Yoga 2 Pro, which types of SD memory cards are compatible, such as SDXC?

There are three form factors: standard, mini and micro. You need standard sized memory cards. See Wikipedia below. If you use micro SD or mini SD cards you need to use a adapter. Most micro and mini memory cards come with a adapter.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital

Nowhere in the documentation, web site is any info about what kind of controller and hence what size SD cards this model is supporting.Even Lenovo tech support doesn't know that info!I am really hesitant to buy a SDXC card of +32GB only to find out it supports on SDHC cards, thus limited to 32GB... thanks for any useful info, Ralf

Answer:What kind of SD card controller is in a Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11AIP? SDHC or SDXC compatible?

Hi ITWorxLA,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As per system overview :
IO port: Memory card slot (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC)

Platform specification:
One microSD Card slot, supports up to 2TB

Usually there would be stickers on the box or laptop to indicate the format it also supports.
You can try to find/borrow  a spare 32GB SDXC to test first before purchase.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

I plan to purchase a CANON S5IS digital camera, and someone recommended that I use SDHC memory cards. I recently bought a Digital Concepts 21-in-1 Card Reader/Writer; however, I don't see the SDHC designation shown on the package. The only SD cards listed are: SD; SD-Ultra; SDC; and Mini SD. Will this reader read an SDHC card as well? Thank you.

Answer:Is my card reader compatible with SDHC Cards?

If it the same model as this one it should do:

Are there 4G WWAN cards that will work in an Inspiron 1526? Or is that only for 3G, which is pretty useless these days?
Will any Mini PCIe Bluetooth card work or is it limited to specific ones?
Odd that it has 4 places for wireless peripheral labels on the bottom, but only 3 slots for them.
It's another freebie Dell, this one with a broken power jack. Just ordered the power/USB board off everyone's favorite auction site.

Hello experts !I am considering buying this Canon Digital Camera, here the link:click hereI have two questions for you my friends:(a) it says that it does accept D/SDHC Memory Card, MultiMediaCard, MMC Plus Card and HC MMC Plus Card. Which is the best one I could get mostly for taking pictures and for ocasional family videos ? are they all the same ? I sent an e-mail to Canon and they just told me they all work fine, but not what kind of Memory Card is the best one. Not manufacturers, no capacities, but just the kind of card, the type of card. Could you please explain me more about the differences between them ?(b) although I like this model I am open to other options, which other ones do you think I should take a look at, given the use I will make of it just for family pictures and small videos ?Thank you very much in advance for your insights and suggestions. Best regards from New Jersey, Antonio Machado.

I acquired a Dell XPS 8900 Special Edition Desktop
(i7-6700; 16Gb ram; Win10; Gtx960; Dell Wireless 802.11 b/g/n).
I want to upgrade the wireless card to enable a 5GHz-AC connection to my ASUS RT AC87U router.
It looks like usb wireless adapters suffer from disconnection and break downs along the way (got this from reading reviews on amazon)
Can anyone recommend a few new AC wireless cards compatible with this desktop? (head about the Intel 7260 but I dont know if there are newer ones).
Thanks in advance!

Answer:Dell XPS 8900 Desktop - upgrade wireless card - which 5GHz cards are compatible?

I have the Dual Band Intel wireless AC 7260 in two systems.  One of those is a 14 year old Inspiron 1545.  There is also an 8260 which I just used to replace a 3165 which Dell put in a new system.
Be aware, those cards come in two widths.  The newer systems may take one 16 mm wide where prior systems us the 30 mm.  I haven't looked at the service manual for that system, so make sure and check exactly what form factor it needs.  You can tell what size it is if you check the antenna leads.  If they are on the same side of the card it is the smaller one.

Hi folks.  I recently purchased newegg item number 14-102-876 which is SAPPHIRE 100292L Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) 1GB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Low Profile Ready Video Card. I am running Win 7 x64 with 4GB of RAM.  I disabled the on board video card through device manager.  I also set PEG as the preferred video output in bios.  When I power the machine on, it gives me a beeping sequest (4-3-4-2 I think) and neither one of the display adapters work.  The fan blows really hard for about 60 seconds and then powers off.  I've read in some places that this PC's MOBO/PCI-E card can not support ATI cards series 5xxxx.  Can someone give me suggestions as wo what cards would work? I usually purchase everything from newegg (sort by price - cheapest - decent rating)  so if you can give me examples from newegg I would appreciate it. I want to be able to play games liek Transformers: War for Cybertron and the minimum requirement for that is a 256MB card but I ordered the 1GB just to be sure I don't have any problems with any other games.  Thanks folks!

Hi everybody, got some troubles

The problem is (you've probably worked it out by looking at the mem specs) is that the slot on the new memory doesnt match up with the bar going accross my memory bank.

Which part of the memory specifications defines where abouts the slot is on the actual memory module is?

My motherboard is a GA-7S741M

Soz if im not very good at explaining,

Hi all,

I have an Equium A210 that i have recently bought. I had taken what i thought was the correct card from my digital camera and placed it into the card reader slot in the front of the laptop. The card is too small for the slot and has now become lodged beyond my reach inside my laptop. Any ideas on how i can safely remove this from my laptop without having to pay expensive repair costs.

Can i just open up the laptop and remove it myself or is the memory card reader a moulded unit that i can't access.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Many thanks,

Andy

Answer:Equium A210-171: How to remove safely not compatible memory card

First of all I really don?t understand people who insert any NOT compatible cards into the slot and don?t check the slot properties.
You can damage the slot using a not compatible card!

Why didn?t you check the user manual which is always preinstalled on your notebook?
There are all details about the compatible cards.

However, I really don?t know if you will be able to remove the inserted card but maybe you could use tiny pair of tweezers?

Note; don't open the notebook. This would cancel the warranty. The best solution is to ask the notebook technician for the help...

good luck

I have one of those add-in card multi-card readers that fits into a floppy drive bay and plugs directly to a terminal on the main board. I think it might be a Rosewill brand I got from Newegg.

If I go through the disconnect procedure to remove the card and want to reinsert any card later, I must reboot the computer before the card is recognized. Going into System and telling it to scan for hardware changes does no good, neither does View> Refresh in My Computer.

Any suggestions for a solution would be appreciated.

now I'M confused if I have always been doing this wrong.
I have always had multicard readers on my HP printers.

I use SD cards for the most part.

when I insert a card the "card present" light comes on--
when I'm done with the card--I just pull it out and put it back in to what
ever device I have it in.

there doesnt seem to be any errors or problems doing it this way.

I thought the only precaution you had to take was-- turn off the camera if
that's what you had the card in--before removing the card and make sure the
camera is turned off when you put the card back into the camera

but this is more protection for the camera then the card--

are you disabling the whole card reader when you use the disconnect hardware feature
to unplug a card

Hi ,
Just wondering, is it my luck? that is the fourth flash memory SD card I try for first use and it gives me memory card error right after inserting it , I used to devices for reading: card reader in my HP officejet printer and Canonpowershot camera.
Cards are:
Patriot signature class 4 4gb
Kingston class 4 8gb
Kingstion micro sd with adapter
last one today Transcend class 10 8gb
I have a old kingston 2 Gb still working fine in the camera and in the HP printer.
I tried all the recovery software I could find to try to format it but the cards are not recognized.
I insert the cards unlocked for first use to format them at first but I can't reach this stage since I have memory card error right away.
I don't know what to do, I find it ridiculous to continue buying cards that won't work.
Any suggestions, ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey Guys (and Gals, if any)...

I have upgraded my Vista Ultimate Aspire 9810 to Win 7 Ultimate(32). Everything is fine, so far, except for the 5-in-1 Memory card reader. It only reads up to 2GB. I cannot remember, when I had Vista Ultimate on it, if it read beyond 2GB.

Any ideas!?!?!!

Are there any updated drivers that support beyond 2GB on this Aspire? I hate to add a reader via USB for that only and wastes a port.

Thanks!

Answer:Aspire 9810 Card Reader driver to read Memory Cards beyond 2GB

If there's a driver for it, it'll be at Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads, Notebook, Aspire 9810.

Try any relating drivers from XP and Vista as well.

It hope this helps.

Hello,

I'm wondering about the differences between some video cards, though they are almost identical except some things. For example :

eVGA e-GeForce 6800 Video Card
256MB, PCI-Express x16, DVI
eVGA - 256P2N384TX

XFX XTreme GeForce 6800 XT Video Card
256MB, PCI Express x16, Dual DVI
XFX - PVT42EUDE3

The only difference is the 3rd line. What does it mean?

Also on another note, I want to buy a video card to play The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I searched the Shopping for GeForce 6800 (the recommended one), and these 2 are the first two results I found. Will either of them work?

Just wondering if someone can help me. My son works at a place that sells tires and the office got new computers so some of the employees got to take the old ones or parts of \old ones, he just grabbed a motherboard that had some stuiff on and saved it for me cause he knows I know a little about them and like to do stuff with them, anyway,

Don't know about this so I am asking.
on the motherboard there was some RAM I took that out and the only other thing was a couple of cards. One is a graphices card it was in the AGP slot and has the plugin for the monitor etc. Now here is where I am lost.

right next to that card was another one about the same size but has no plug in in it like for the monitor or sound or modem, nothing. however, the graphics card in the AGP slot was hooked to it with an ide cable. A small ide cable like you see on a floppy sometimes anyway the ide cable went from the AGP card to the PCI card. like I said the pci card has no outside plugs on it. Is it just an extention of the APG graphics card? do they hook together like that to give the first card more MB or am I way off here? I have never saw this before, it interrest me and I would really like to know what the deal is. If someone could help that would be great.

The first card had on it the AGP one said 1997 STB Systems, Inc and had numbers like T06031WZ and then 1X0-0820-305

and the PCI card had also the STB Systems, Inc and then 210-0307-001 and said 1998 LP3-t2

ANY IDEA'S??

Hello all,
After sitting in storage for almost 10 years, my dad has recently dug out my Dell Dimension 4400, my first ever personal computer, which has been sitting in storage since about March/April 2008. I decided to do my own work on it, like swapping out the 20GB HDD with a 250GB HDD, added in a 10/100/1000Mbit Ethernet card, and expanded the RAM from 128MB to 2GB.
Within the last couple of weeks, I've ran into issues. I managed to break the tab that keeps the securing lever down, and broke a tab that keeps the AGP video card secured. It's so bad that I have to make sure to plug in the VGA cord into the PNY GeForce FX 5200 before closing the case, otherwise I risk dislodging the card from its AGP 4x socket.
I thought I had some screws used for securing expansion cards to the back plate, but they didn't fit. Is there any information as to what screws are compatible with securing expansion cards to the backplate?

Answer:What kind of screws can be used for securing Dimension 4400 expansion cards?

Hi

I've just found a bargain of a XFX 8800GTX XXX and the question I have is whether it's compatible with a BFG 8800GTX OC2 in SLi mode?

The XFX card has a central clock of ~4mhz more than the BFG, but I suppose that either downclocking the XFX or overclocking the BFG should solve the problem with different clocks. The rest is the same.

Well, what do you people think?
If you help me out with this I'll become more active in the forum again
THANKS A LOT!

Answer:Are these cards compatible in SLi?

Hard to say, but I'd expect they wouldn't be compatible in SLI.

Nvidia says that as long as the actual GPU chip is the same model and revision, and the memory is the same, then they should be compatible. However many people have stated that combining different manufacturers cards, regardless of specs, just doesn't jive.

IMO - Unless the cards are 100% identical, you're not guaranteed that it will work.

I'm sure that's not what you really wanted to hear, but it is what it is, I guess. Bottom line, they may work, but don't count on it.

I'm looking into buying a "Rosewill Silicon Image RC-209-EX PCI External e-SATA x2/ Internal SATA x4 1.5G HDD Controller Card" and maybe im just losing it from staying up all night hardware shopping but the pci connector looked odd to me. Researching it I see that it is a Universal pci card, for 2.3 pci, compatible with 33mhz or 66 mhz.

Now my mobo has only 2.2 pci's but as i understand it 2.3 universal cards are backwards compatible with 2.2 slots, and since the card has 33mhz and 66mhz functionality, the only concern would be its voltage, which i do not know, but which seems from my research to be fine either way since 2.2 supports 3.3volts which is what 2.3 pci's are.

just wanted to double check before i shelled out the cash, that this card would probabliy work in my system.

well i just bought it, will let you know how it works

Answer:PCI 2.2 compatible with PCI 2.3 cards?

Yes, I would expect it to work.

Hello all, I have owned my Lenovo V570 for 3.5 years, and it's still doing reasonably well after some upgrades.  However, I have been having trouble with the wireless card ever since Windows 8 came out, even after updating to the latest drivers from the Intel website.  I have the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6150 card.  The connection frequently becomes "limited," especially shortly after I wake it up from sleep mode.  And it's only this computer that this happens to, since none of my other computers or devices show this behavior, so it's not my router(s). I recently bought a new wireless card to replace this one, also from Intel, but that is when I ran into the notorious "whitelist," and my card didn't make the cut.  (Too new to be on the whitelist, I suppose). So I consulted the user's manual, which has a list on Pg. 78 of the compatible wireless cards.  (https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_v570_b570_b570e_hmm_v2.0.pdf) However, when I search for these on Newegg or Amazon, nothing comes up!  (Go ahead, try searching for Intel 6250NX, for example!) I need a wifi card that can support 5 GHz, since I live in an apartment complex, and the 2.4 GHz band is completely saturated. Any recommendations on cards that will work with my laptop and Lenovo's ridiculous whitelist?

Answer:Compatible Wifi Cards

Hi mollycule,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

If your aim is a 5ghz wifi band. This is your best bet
The Whitelist cards for this model supports only 2.4 bgn, So even if you found a card that's on the whitelist, The 5ghz channel that you want might still not work.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

I have installed a Radeon 7000 64mb AGP and it appears to not be very good. When I try to watch videos online it freezes and you can only hear sound. First, does anyone have any suggestions for what the problem might be? Secondly, can anyone point me in the direction of a website that will tell me the cards that are compatible with my PC? I tried installing a Geforce 5200 128mb but I just got a "no signal" so I'm thinking my PC wouldn't run it. It's an EMachines T2341. Emachines tech support won't help me because it's been over a year since I bought it.

Answer:Compatible video cards?

If your AGP slot is 4x (or 8x), it should be able to run any current AGP card (4x or 8x), Geforce 5200 included.

If you are unsure, use EVEREST.

If you are still unsure, post the log as an attachment and someone will look at it for you. (don't copy and paste the log, only attach it please)

As far as the video problem, that could be codec related, or your internet connection etc.

Does it only have this issue online?

Hi

Recently installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Everything works fine except my Belkin F5D5005 v2000 network card.

There are no drivers for it on the Belkin site and none of the older vista drivers work.

Is there a list somewhere of NIC's that are compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit since it looks like I'll need to buy a new one.

The on board network point on my motherboard works fine (realtek NIC on an Asus Fatality fp-in9 SLI mobo) but has been faulty for some time now.

Any advice?

Answer:PCI Network cards - which are compatible?

Welcome footwo, here's a link but you might want to pick out a model and check the manufacture's website to see if they are posting w7 drivers before you commit.

Chances are your motherboard can take 8X AGP cards if it has a 9200 in at the moment so you should be able to use just about any AGP card...Here's a nice priced ATI 9800 for youclick hereAny more questions just askMav

I'm looking for a new PC right now, but the new DX10 cards releasing soon are going to be a little too expensive for me I think, since there's only about 2 on the horizon for now anyway. My question is: If I buy a new PC now would I then need to upgrade the motherboard when I made the eventual switch to DX10? The G80 looming for example, will it be compatible with the current mboards or will it have a new standard behind it?Ideally, rather than holding out for a while before buying a new system I'd like to get one now (I'm a uni student - work to be done) and simply be able to install a new graphics card later when I need it. I'm not a big PC gamer, only occasional plays of sims 2 and pro evo 6 for me, so a top-end card isn't essential for now. I would like to be able to play Spore when it's released though...

Answer:DX10 Compatible Cards

When DX10 is released graphics card makers will have had time to release updated drivers that will be able to exist with DX10.All you need to do with a new PC is check the cards website and update the drivers...

Hello! My computer recently took a dive beyond my ability to repair myself. I just purchased a new tower from ebay to replace it, this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290753930263?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I know its nothing fancy and I don't care much to hear "oh you should have just spent 700 dollars on this computer or that computer because the one you bought is junk" that seems to be the response I've gotten from people on other websites after asking this question. I have an Asus republic of gamers laptop that I use for my real system intensive games, all I really want to be able to run nice on this new desktop is WoW and similar games, maybe left 4 dead and bioshock, that type of thing.

Anyhow - My original plan with this "new" desktop was to take my 4 gigs of ram (2 2gb sticks) and my video card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 ) out of my now broken pc and simply put them into the "new" desktop. But I am looking at the pictures of the inside of tower (on the ebay page i linked above) and it seems to me that I will not be able to fit my card into the PCIe slot, It appears in the picture that the case fan is going to be in the way of the fan assembly on the video card. Would it maybe be an option to relocate the case fan a little bit just to get it out of the way of my video card? Or am I going to have to fork out money for a new skinnier video card? If so, can anyone giv... Read more

I have an integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 Graphics and i'm interested in getting a video card to put in. Does it have to be a ATI brand or would any brand work? The system is a Gateway DX4200-09. Any comments would be appreciated. Also I tried putting in a GeForce 9600 GT but after a while the screen freezes while gaming and I have to restart the whole computer.

Answer:Compatible Video Cards

Hi,

That card should be good enough as a basic upgrade, that is if you have upgraded the the PSU too. 300W is not nearly enought, you neeed 450W minimum otherwise you will get problems.

Have you upgraded the PSU?

I'm looking at buying and adding a 256Mb card with 1.4 Pixel Shading support - I've recently purchased a game that I thought my current card would just scrape by with, but hasn't.I've searched the ASUS site and support forums to try and find out which ATI or NVIDIA cards my motherboard is capable of handling, and I've also searched the sites for the ATI and NVIDIA cards to see if they provide the information on which motherboards are capable of handling their cards - no one seems to be able to tell me which cards I should go for !I'm looking at getting either: NVIDIA GeforceFX 5700/5800/5900/5950 series NVIDIA Geforce 6200 Turbocache-16 NVIDIA Geforce 6600, GT/6800/6800, GT/6800 Ultra, PCX5900 ATI Radeon 8500/9500/9600/9700/9800/X300/X700/X800/X850Only problem is, I have no idea (even after a few days researching) which is my best bet.Any kind soul got any words of wisdom or advice ?CheersJason

Answer:Compatible graphics cards ?

OK, I took a chance and purchased an ATI Radeon 9600 with 256MB on board. I meet all the minimum requirements and it's all recognised and setup apart from the memory on it.Should be 256MB as above.... I've installed all the software and set it all up, but the software I'm wanting to run (Battlefield 2) dosn't run. Using the EA Easy info option the game installs, it's not acknowledging the 9600's RAM.... have I missed something or am I just being excessively stupid ?

Hi

Please can someone tell me what mini-pci Wifi cards are compatible with the Satellite P10-304 laptop?

I have tried a broadcom 4318 with no look.
It installs the hardware as seen in device manager but can not find any networks (think there is a conflict with the motherboard)

Tried an Azure AW-GM100 which has a conflict message as soon as the laptop posts.

Answer:Which Wi-Fi cards are compatible with Satellite P10-304?

Hi!

Theoretically the most WiFi cards should work but the best way would be if you take a WiFi card that was delivered with a Satellite P10 notebook.

I don?t know which cards was delivered with this notebook but I have a little bit search here in the forum and I founded a thread that could be interesting for you:

First of all, let me say I am not getting a new card for any really heavy or graphics intensive games. The only things I play are different versions of The Sims (Medieval and Sims 3 including its most recent Pets expansion). The reason I am looking into this is primarily because I just got the Sims 3 Pets expansion and found that it is incompatible with my Intel G33/31 whatever card. (All the pets are majorly, frighteningly distorted.)So here are my computer specs via dxdiag and then I will post the specs on some cards I am looking at. Hello, I have a p7-1234 with an upgraded power supply running an AMD r7-250 2gb GPU. I would like to know what the most powerful, best card that I can use with this older computer. Thank you for your help!

Answer:Looking for a list of compatible Graphics cards

Coolartcaleb, welcome to the forum. HP doesn't have a list of video cards that are compatible with their computers.  However, newer cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  There is no way to upgrade the the BIOS to UEFI. The last video cards that didn't require UEFI are the GT 640's.  Your best option is to choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your computer. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I have a T530 and plan on buying a wwan card.  Lenovo support site says that Ericsson H5321gw half size is compatible (link here), but I am not sure if only cards bought from lenovo will work. They recommend buying the card from them, and that is understandable from a marketing perspective, and considering the prices they have. But similar cards (based on the same chip) are available from third parties at a fraction of the cost. They should work, unless lenovo blocks them using some identification built into their own cards, to give no choice than buyin from them. I am interested if anyone has tried "similar" wwan cards from thirs parties, and how did those cards work, or not.In particular, I am interested in Ericsson H5321gw cards. Thanks.

Answer:T530 compatible wwan cards

Perhaps a staff member may care to comment on the compatibility of third party cards

have recently come into posession of ati pci express 700 video card will it fit into my dimensions e-310, if not what is the best gaming card that will and where might I find a place to trade the ati card? ,not looking to spend alot $100.00 or less preferably..want to run games like fear and some of the aeria.games online games without texture and lighting problems.will take even up trade on good card that will fit this machine.

Answer:Compatible video cards for Dimension e-310

Your system has a pci-e x1 slot, while almost all video cards use the pci-e x16 slot. So if you have a x16 card it won't physically fit in the x1 slot. (unless you use an adapter, or melt the connector to allow larger cards to fit)

There is a very limited selection of pci-e x1 cards available. Of the cards that are easy to buy and in your price range, the x1550 pci-e x1 would probably be best. There are better cards(7300gt, 8400gs, etc), but they are either more money or hard to find.

Also, you could get a pci video card, like the 8500gt.

Nowhere in the documentation does it tell you which 3 cards are compatible. It is the same size as a PCMCIA slot but that does not work.

Anyone know which 3 cards can be used?

Answer:Satellite L350-277 - Which cards are compatible?

Hello

First of all this is not a PCMCIA slot. It?s an ExpressCard slot!!!

I have checked the user manual and I did find the following information:
+ExpressCard slot allows you to install an ExpressCard/34 or ExpressCard/54 to expand functionality.+

What do you say now? ;)

I don?t know where you did find this information about ?3 cards? but the card reader can read SD/SDHC/MS/MS Pro/MMC memory cards.

Thats my mobo. As you can see, it supports agp 8x. I had problems w/ a 9600se that came from a clanmate. The card worked when he shipped it, when it came to me it didn't. My moniter kept saying "No input". I was pissed, and eventaully today got a agp 4x card to test out the agp slot. (mx400). It works fine and dandy.

Now, I plan on RMA'ing the 9600se. But one of my other clanmates said that the card may not be broken, and maybe my mobo cant support new gfx cards. (something about voltage being too high)

I trust him, for he owns a computer shop, but then, why would my mobo be 8x compatible if they don't work?

Do you think the card is messed up or my mobo? Thanks!

Answer:8x AGP cards not work on 8x compatible mobo?

I've been digging around the internet for hours trying to figure out what (if any) wireless cards (preferably USB) are currently supported by Linux (i.e. works out of box, no new driver installation necessary), but I haven't been able to come up with much other than the WUSB54G, which no longer seems to be produced. Are there any still manufactured wireless cards (like I said before, preferably USB) that would work on <most> recent linux distros without installing new drivers?  (I say most because I intend to install several different distros before this is all through)Thanks in advance.

Answer:Linux Compatible Wireless Cards

none of the distro's I've tried have had any problems with any of my wireless cards. Seems nearly universal. Although none of them are USB, so I don't know how that would factor in.

Can anyone provide a list of compatible PCI-e wlan cards for T510. Intel N6200 has some serious issues with driver compatibility and I am tired of it. Hello, Since my Lenovo Y570 doesn't have a WLAN card that is able to use Wireless Display, I wanted to replace the card with an Intel 6230 card for example. Has anyone yet tried to replace the WLAN card and can report his experience? All I heard was that Lenovo has a Whitelist/Blacklist for WLAN cards. Thx in advance

Answer:Any compatible WLAN cards with Y570?

Ka17,

This is an old thread and I just found it burried on the Idea tablet board as we are doing a bit of reorganization here in the forum, so I moved it here to the correct board and thought I would also try to add a reply for benefit of others who may read this.

I would suggest going to our support.lenovo.com site, select drivers and downloads and the Y570 product and see the drivers available for Wifi.  Looks like several intel cards, a broadcom and atheros card as well.  Another source would be to check the hardware maintenance manual for the model in question.  Here is the link for the Y570.  Generally, the HMM will list the service parts for the different Wifi cards that could be used in the system.

You will likely need to source the Lenovo versions rather than OEM versions of the card.

Best regards,

Mark

I did some research and found that there could be some bios compatibility issues, and the newer video cards may not work with the older Cleveland motherboards.  I will be returning the card and power supply if I can't make them work. My computer still works fine with the old video card for the most part, but I am having some video card related issues when trying to run some apps. What would be the best/most powerful video card that will work with the IPISB-CH Cleveland motherboard? I don't mind upgrading the power supply if needed. I am not trying to do any crazy gaming or anything. I just need to replace what I have with something that works pretty well, so I don't have to replace my whole PC. Product Number : LC120AV#ABAHP Pavilion Elite HPE 570tCPU: Intel Core i7-26008GB RamMB: IPISB-CH Cleveland v1.04Current Video Card: GeForce GT 440

Hi!

I am looking for graphics cards that don't require 400W power supplies. I don't thing the average card uses all the 400W of power, but what is a good PS for graphics cards?

I am setting up external graphics with a PCI-e to x16 PCI adapter that offers 8 pin power connector. You can find it here:

http://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Extern...6270390&sr=8-1&keywords=graphics+card+adapter

Along with the adapter, I am looking for an 8 pin to 6pin/8pin adapter (8pin female on one end, and 6 pin plus an 8 pin male plugs on the other).

I am looking at this PSU:

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Dell-...=1456281602&sr=1-2&keywords=220w+power+supply

Also, I am using a Toshiba Satellite C75D-B7230. I have removed the network card without any flaws or error messages, that was plugged into the PCI-e slot.

Any replies are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi all, I am new to this community and to laptops in particular. I have a W540 notebook and I am using it both for software development and gaming. Specs programming are OK but I'm lacking in video performance when it comes to gaming. Currently there's nVidia Quadro K1100M in my laptop so I was wondering if this can be upgraded to something better so my gaming experience can improve. From what I've read Quadro series are good for the graphic applications like CAD or similar but GTX series are better for gaming. Can my laptop accomodate any of the GTX family, like 7xxM, 8xxM or 9xxM series? Or am I stuck with Quadro family? Do those families differ in their size (so that GTX can't fit in the W540, for example)? If the dimensions are same, would you recommend to upgrade to some GTX or stay in the Quadro line and upgrade to 2100 or higher? I suppose changing the card in the laptop is not that straightforward as in desktop computers (there I have plenty of experience). Would the change involve also removing the cooling block and then mount it back on the new card including the thermal paste application?

Answer:What video cards are compatible with W540?

Hello, krokyk wrote:I was wondering if this can be upgraded to something better so my gaming experience can improve.the GPU of the W540 is soldered to the system board. If you need more GPU performance, you have several options:Replace the system board by a system board with a Quadro K2100MIf you have the equipment and the skills for BGA soldering, you can replace the GPU chip itself by another one.You can use an external GPU, either via ExpressCard or via Thunderbolt.  Greetings, Felix

I have now managed to dual boot my older Toshiba L10 with XP and Windows 7.

The existing Wireless LAN card is not compatible with the Windows 7 partition and I am using an external wireless usb.

Does anyone have any recommendations on an internal wireless card that I can buy that can replace the existing one and is both compatible with XP and Windows 7 32-bit? Is it easy to replace one card with another?

Answer:Satellite Pro L10 - What WLAN cards are compatible?

Hello

Hardware upgrade on mobile machines is very limited and most information you can get about supported upgrade for HDD or RAM. Upgrade for all other hardware components is not supported so there is actually no info about hardware compatibility.

Nobody here can offer you the list with 100% compatible WLAN cards.
Which WLAN card is inside of your old L10?
Have you tried to install WLAN drivers from Toshiba Wlan portal - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Download driver from there and install it. maybe this will help you to get WLAN card working properly.

Does anyone have a list or know  what graphic cards that are compatible with M3970AM-HP(Angelica)?  I'm currently using Asus Radeon HD 7770 Ghz card and Corsair CX600M PSU.  I already know the R series and 700 series and up are not compatible.  I want upgrade to HD 7800 or 7900 series card.

Answer:Angelica compatible graphic cards

Guiduf, any gpus from gtx 7xx and up, along with their amd equivalent, will not work with that motherboard. need bios version 8 or newer for the newer cards to work and hp is not going to release a new bios update for that motherboard. at the most i would recommend nvidia gtx 670 since that's the biggest card that will fit the case. if you want to run a newer card you would have to get a whole new computer. a motherboard swap is essentially the same thing and requires formatting the hard drive to accept the new motherboard.

Am I right in presuming that a 7800GTX 256mb card could not be SLI'd to an 8800 Ultra?

Are only other 8 series cards compatible with an 8800? Are there other restrictions that apply?

Thanks guys!

Answer:What cards are compatible with 8800 Ultra (SLI)?

SLI requires that both the cards have the same GPU. Clock speeds, memory sizes and third-party manufacturers may differ, but the GPU must be the same. So an 8800 Ultra can only be paired with another 8800 Ultra and a 7800GTX with another 7800GTX.
As for restrictions, they're more like requirements. You'd need to have a mobo supporting SLI obviously, in addition to a PSU able to supply enough juice for the two cards. Also, you might need extra cooling as well, especially if they're hot-running cards like the 8800 series. That's about it really.

Hi all,
I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692 (Model: PSA67E-001001EN). It has a wifi cover on the back for a wifi card but I can't seem to find a list anywhere of which wifi cards are compatible. Would someone be able to provide me with a list of compatible cards!

Some people have said that the Toshiba Equium A60-692 does not support a Wifi but as there is a panel for one on the back I assume that it is wifi ready! Also in the connectivity wizard for the Athros it says it has a 1394 connection but it does not have a card installed.

I have found a few on ebay and am looking to know if they will be compatible:

1) Toshiba 802.11a/g Wireless LAN, Mini PCI Card - Netzwerkkarte, Mini PCI - 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, PA3298U-1MPC

2) Toshiba WLAN Mini PCI PA3300U-1MPC 54MBit 802.11g/b

3) TOSHIBA WLAN MINI PCI 54MBit 802.11a/b PA3273U-1MPC

4) Toshiba PA3300U-2MPC WiFi Card Kit 802.11g 54 Mbps NEU

Thanks for your time and I am looking forward to your replies!

Answer:Which WiFi cards are compatible with Equium A60-692?

Hi,

I'm sorry, but the other people are right. The A60-692 cannot use a Mini PCI card.
Yes it has a connector for this card, but it has no antennas installed.
Other A60 models are WiFi ready, but not this one.

You can only use PC cards or USB sticks for WiFi.

Right now im currently using a Junky Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT card, with a measly 256MB, and i cant even play games outdated from a few years ago such as "Dungeons Runners" without experiencing huge lagg. My frames instantly Drop from 60 to 30-40 whenever Anything including a group of monsters came onscreen and when i use slightly graphical demanding skills, my frames will drop as low as 20 in a matter of seconds. the Reccomended specs for this game is windows XP, 800 Hz if that gives a little insight on how easy it should be for my comp to play this game.

Heres the comp:

1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (4 total)

Bus Clock: 201 megahertz

Display:
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT [Display adapter]
HP w2207 [Monitor] (22.0"vis, s/n CND8082374, February 2008)

All that information comes from a program called "Belarc Advisor". If anyone can help me by telling me what graphics cards would be compatible with my system i would be very greatful. Also any other insight as to why my computer has such a hard time processing these outdated graphics would be helpful. So far after asking most people who play the game, they all state to have no issue... Read more

i am in the market for a new video card, looking at spending roughly around $300. My question will any of the current cards out NOW support directX10 when it comes out? or does it have to say in the specs of the card if it will support it or not?

I read an article about how DX10 will increase the performance of games 6 to 8 times, thats huge. I don't want to buy an expensive card now and just find out in January that I have to buy ANOTHER card to just get DX10?

I need to upgrade my video card (I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX) but I'm not sure how to check whether the cards I'm looking at on eBay are going to be compatible with my system. Has anybody got any advice on how I can go about checking?

My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-7DXE and I think the following information may be relevant, Expansion Slots; 1. 1 x AGP 4X, 2. 5 x PCI slots support 33MHz and PCI 2.2 compliant

Does this mean that a Card that has AGP 8X won't work with my motherboard?

Thanks for any advice.

Answer:Advice on compatible video cards

No an AGP 8x card can be run at AGP 4x, you can change it with an application called Rivatuner.

I built a computer for a friend whos mother board went bad (old AT computer). The new computer worked great at my place. when he
plugged in his older monitor It went black. He had another one kicking around and he was able to get it to come up with 16 colors etc. but it wouldn't shut down when you shut down the computer. He had to download the drivers for the video card to get the resolution back. the video card is a PNY GForce4mx440 with 64megs of DDR RAM. Is there an issue with older monitors and newer video cards? Can one hurt the other? Thanks in advance for the help.

Answer:Are old monitors compatible with new video cards?

The only thing I see that would be a problem with an older monitor is that you may have trouble finding the right driver for the monitor and and older monitor doesn't have as many hours left as a new one.

Answer:Which graphics cards are compatible with my motherboard?

You can't always tell with brand manufacturers since sometimes they will have the MB makers modify their boards. However, in this case it looks like any of the AGP video cards will be compatible with the MB. Where you will have to watch things is the card's power requirements. Many of the brands will have a PS on the small (meaning output) size.

I purchased an Asus Geforce GTX 750ti graphgics card to install in my Lenein H50 50 PC. On the store's website it said that the maxmium wattage output that the pc required to run that graphics card was 150 watt. On the graphics card box it says the munimum requirement is 400 watt. Is this going to be OK? Also, in terms of physically installing it, thew card requires a free PCI express slot. I know nothing about the internal workings of PCs but when I opened up the case, I do not see anything thet resembles a PCI express slot. If this card is not compatible, can anyone suggestr a similar card that would be. Thanks, Paul

Answer:Compatible Lenovo h50 graphic cards?

It looks like that should work. Your power supply can handle it, and I see a PCI express slot on your computer's motherboard on the hardware manual. I'll suggest to get it from a retailer with retun policy, just in case it doesn't
