Sending Email from Access 2007 thru Outlook 2007

Question: Sending Email from Access 2007 thru Outlook 2007

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.4
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Home, 64 bit
Processor: AMD A6-7310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics, AMD64 Family 22 Model 48 Stepping 1
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 7113 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics, 1024 Mb
Hard Drives: C: 814 GB (753 GB Free); D: 17 GB (2 GB Free); E: 97 GB (73 GB Free);
Motherboard: HP, 81F5
Antivirus: Windows Defender, Disabled

I have a form that gathers the required information from within the database

I then use this code to send the email

Private Sub Command20_Click()
'sending email
Dim mess_body As String
Dim appOutLook As Outlook.Application
Dim MailOutLook As Outlook.MailItem
Set appOutLook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set MailOutLook = appOutLook.CreateItem(olMailItem)

Set appOutLook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set MailOutLook = appOutLook.CreateItem(olMailItem)
With MailOutLook
.BodyFormat = olFormatHTML
.To = Me.Email_Address
.Subject = Me.Mess_Subject
.HTMLBody = Me.messtxt
If Left(Me.Mail_Attachment_Path, 1) <> "<" Then
.Attachments.Add (Me.Mail_Attachment_Path)
End If
'.DeleteAfterSubmit = True 'This would let Outlook send th note without storing it in your sent bin
.Send
End With
'MsgBox MailOutLook.Body
Exit Sub
email_error:
MsgBox "An error was encountered." & vbCrLf & "The error message is: " & Err.Description
Resume Error_out
Error_out:
End Sub

Everything works fine except what the customer sees - sometimes the Text message is a long one and
it gets sent in one long line. I have been googleing for days now but cant find a way to put line feeds in the text
message. All the examples I find only use 4 or 5 words in there text message so it is not a problem

Hope you guys can help

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Outlook 2007 and two email addresses: my primary pop3 account and a second, forwarding, address which I ask most of my correspondents to use.

I would like to be able to use Outlook to "send from" the second address, and to have that address appear as the "sent from" address when anyone receives a mail from me.

At present anyone can use the second address and it will arrive in my inbox.

It's just the "sent from" value which is proving difficult to achieve.

I have tried setting up a new account in account settings but I can't do so with the second address, no matter which password I use.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what is happening with my outlook? I will be reading an email and notice that the message "sending email 1 of 1" then "email sent" will show up accasionally at the bottom of my window. I check my sent email and there is no new sent mail.
Can someone explain what this may be?

Thanks Dax

A couple of weeks ago my Outlook started freezing up after I sent an email. In general, the machine was acting like it had a bug, or at minimum a conflict with my virus detection.

I was running Avast Free at the time. But assuming nothing wrong there, and considering the machine was overall acting sluggish, I ran a MalwareBytes scan, and a SpyBot scan. I also did a chkdsk of my ~3 year old hard drive, as well as a defrag.
I went into my mail and did some housekeeping, storing my old email messages under separate yearly folders (both Inbox and Sent items.). Whether these folders are Open or Closed within Outlook makes no difference.

Hard drive is about 50% full. I have upgraded memory to 4GB from 2GB thinking it would help overall performance of the machine (it didn't appear to, and had no impact on the Outlook freezing issue.).

This week, I have worked with nasdaq of Bleeping Computer to insure my machine was clean of bugs. My logs are clean. Outlook freezing occurs if it's the only program running, or with other programs running. The freezeup occurs when an email reply or new email is sent.

I have followed some of the Microsoft recommendations and deleted both the Word Normal template, and the NormalEMail templates, and allowed Outlook and Word to rebuild them. That didn't work.
I have not rebuilt my profiles as they have not been modified in any way to cause the issue, especially since the machine has been bug free for at least since Christmas. I have not tr... Read more

Hey there! I'm a newbie with a big thorn in my side so I hope you can help!!

I just recently updated to Office 2007 (though still with XP operating system).

Anyway, since updating to Outlook 2007, I have not been able to both send and receive emails at home. I eventually sorted it so I could receive emails but the problem now is not being able to send.

I have an IMAP email account which I receive OK but cannot send email from home with the IMAP smpt.

I have an orange wireless livebox at home so I use the orange SMTP details but still no luck. I know it must be something to do with my Orange account because sometimes I can connect to a different wireless connection from my bedroom and it sends OK using my IMAP details.

I contacted Orange today but they were unable to help and the issue is unresolved.

It is driving me mad! Please help!

There are four uses in my small office. Three of them use Outlook 2003 and one has Outlook 2007. The three Outlook 2003 users can send email to everyone internally without any problems.
The Outlook 2007 user can respond to email sent from people internally without any problems. Any new email she sends to any of the three people internally get stuck in the Outbox.
We use register.com to handle our email.

Any suggestions on how to get the Outlook 2007 user to be able to send email internally successfully would be appreciated.

Thank you for looking.

Intermittently, Outlook 2007 will crash while sending an email and, needless to say, the email is not sent. However I wanted to know if there is a temp or backup copy of that mail anywhere. I've looked in drafts and it's not there.

I've sometimes typed a very long email and then lost the whole email when Outlook crashes so I just wanted to know if, like Word, there is a temp file that may be created.

Thanks.

Hi there guys...........I have a challenge with outlook 2007. It is taking a long time to access my email folders on the left hand side of outlook. For example if I am in the inbox folder and need to go to sent items it takes around 8 seconds for the contents of the sent items to "load" and appear in the sent window on the right hand side. This lag in time when changing folders is consistant across all my folders (inbox, deleted, sent, draft, junk email etc) whether they have any contents or not. while changing from one folder to another the right hand side window has the message "Loading..." which appears for approximately 8 secs on every requested folder change. Can u help?

Can anyone please help. I'm trying to look at Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments in Access 2007.

I've seen many postings discussing adding appointments from from Access into Outlook, but I want to look the other way.

The code I've started with is

Dim olapp As Object
Dim olappt As Object
Set olapp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

...but that's as far I can get. I'm lost after that.

My game plan is to link our Exchange Calendars used on ipad2's to our Access database, to store Sales Rep visits against customers visited, straight from the ipad into the database.

Anyone know how? I'd be very grateful.

Configuration: Office laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) and MS Office 2007 Pro; attached to MS Exchange Server 2003 using Cached Exchange Mode. Everything was working fine until I took laptop home, connected to my home network, VPN'ed into my office, and then returned to the office. Logged on and connected to Windows Server 2003 as usual. With one email in outbox, I Send/Receive and Outlook now reports sending 3 of 3. I think I noticed while VPN'ed into the office at home that it reported sending 2 of 2 with only one email in the outbox. What's up with this??? Thanks for any guidance.

Hi

I am getting to the end of my tether with an issue I have had with Outlook for the last week.

I am unable to send any messages as they getting stuck in my outbox. I have tried various fixes after Googling the problems I am having and have found other people with exactly the same problem but it looks like there isn't a fix.

The error message I get in Outlook is this " Sending' reported error (0x800CCC13) : 'Cannot connect to the network. Verify your network connection or modem.' "

In addition to this when emails are stuck in my outbox I have looked at the delivery options and they are set to not send until 17:00 of the current day, yet when it gets to that time they don't send.

Another issue I am having with Outlook 2007 is that it isn't displaying some emails I have been sent, mainly when they are plain text. Even if I try and open the email up it just shows a blank screen with the senders details and date of it being received but no message.

I have tried the following fixes:
Installed MDBVU32 to try and clear any stuck read receipts
Run a full system scan with Kaspersky and installed the security patch from Microsoft for Outlook
Uninstalled Office 2007 and re-installed
Set up a new mail profile

All of these have not worked.

I am running Windows Vista (yuk!)

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I really am getting frustrated at not being able to send emails out.

Thanks

Answer:Outlook 2007 not sending - Help!

Have you tried deleting everything in the outbox, restarting Outlook, and trying to send again?

Often times we have seen issues with messages getting stuck in the outbox. There are usually two remedies: restart Outlook and hit send/receive, or getting rid of all the messages in the outbox and then restarting.

Also if you don't want to delete the messages I suggest moving all outbox items to the drafts folder, then restart Outlook, and then resend each message from drafts. These methods have worked 100% of the time for us.

Are you connecting to Exchange or a POP account? Have you checked the server configs (or talked to your admin)?

Hi I'm having a problem with Outlook 2007 on my desktop. Getting all my emails returned with this message "550 5.1.1 Relaying denied to domain".

I have checked my POP3 server on my laptop and it works no problem.

It appears to me that here is some sort of corruption in the Outlook Programme on my desktop. Can anyone offer a solution please otherwise I will have to reinstall office as that is the only way I can see out of this at the moment.

Thanks in advance

I have been using BT for my emails for years now and never had problems using their yahoo.co.uk for web-mail and outlook 2007 on my computer. Following BT not using yahoo anymore and now just using BT Mail I installed the Hotmail Outlook Connector, so I can use outlook.com as web-email. I created a Mapi account in Outlook and copied all my contacts into it. I also created some additional send/receive e-mail addresses in outlook.com, they are BT sub accounts. They are showing up in both outlook.com and outlook 2007.
The problem I have that outlook.com and outlook 2007 will not send emails.
They either are stuck in the outbox or they come back with the following messages. The first one tells me "not to resend" as the mail is delayed.
1. FW: Delivery Status Notification (Delay)
Subject: Delivery Status Notification (Delay)
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Then I get delivery report saying the email cannot be delivered.
2. This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server.
Alternatively, I get
3. This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.
I have no problem receiving emails.

Answer:Outlook 2007 not sending mail after installing the Hotmail Outlook Connector

If you have installed Outlook connector then you are not using outlook.com via webmail but are using Outlook 2007 for it. Webmail is through your browser. You should not be having any problems sending via the browser. You can also log into BT using the browser and send.
But coming back to your original problem I'm not sure why you set up a MAPI account or how you did it and the problem may well lie there. Suggest that you delete the hotmail/outlook account in Outlook and start again. You can back up the received emails first. The Outlook.com account should be an Exchange Activesync type.

Typical day, start PC including Outlook at around 6.30am. Everything works fine, then at some point in the afternoon, maybe between 3pm-5pm Outlook suddenly stops sending emails, they just sit in the outbox. I can try everything and it makes no difference. I still receive emails and no settings have been changed.

I can try hitting 'Send & Receive' or 'Send All', nothing happens. If I shut outlook down and restart it sends whatever is in the outbox and doesn't do it again.

It doesn't happen every day, could go a week and it won't do it. It makes no difference who the recipient is.

I used to use pop3 and it did it, I now use imap and it still does it.

Any ideas, it has me beat.

Occasionally my Outlook 2007 "forgets" to send mail. Normally it sends mail as it's supposed to but occasionally (once a week or so) the outgoing mail just stays in the outbox until I close Outlook and restart it. Even pressing F9 to send and receive mail doesn't help! I'm running Vista Home Premium on it Toshiba laptop.

Anybody got any ideas how to correct this problem?

Answer:Problems sending mail from Outlook 2007

You might look at the task manager and see if there is any copy of Outlook running.
If so, then this will stop the sending of the mail.

Hi,

I am running Outlook 2007. I have been using it for years with no issues. I upgraded to Win10 on Friday and all went well. Sent mails successfully after that. Ever since yesterday I get the error 0x800CCC0B and all my mail is stuck in the Outbox and won't send.

Thanks,

I never had trouble setting up Outlook with Vista or XP. However, I have not been able to get Outlook 2007 to send e-mail. I am not sure if it is a problem with Outlook because when I use Thunderbird, I also cannot send e-mail. Windows Live Mail also cannot send e-mail.

My ISP is Windstream
Here is link to server settings:

Windstream.net
Pretty cut and dry. smtp.windstream.net for Outgoing
POP.Windstream.net for Incoming

I have no trouble receiving e-mail-just sending it???

Any idea what could be happening? As I said, no issues with Outlook when using XP/Vista-just when I migrated to Windows 7.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am using Office 2007

WHen I send and email it gets sent immediately and shows in the Sent box. Even if it is a very large email it immediately shows sent/receive complete in the Progress window, and I can close Outlook.

The problem is that the email has not actually completely been sent. It is being sent and takes a few minutes for a large attachment as my upload speed is only 256 kbps.

If I disconnect the Net once it shows in the Sent folder the mail sending is incomplete if it is a large mail and is never received at the other end.

I am using Outlok 2003 on a different PC an there it does not go from Outbox to the Sent folder until the email is sent out of the computer.

Basically the problem I am facing is that Outlook 2007 puts the mail in the Sent box and I am never sure when to turn off my PC, as I cannot be sure that the mail sending has finished.

Never had this problem before.

Answer:Outlook 2007: Going directly to Sent folder (while sending)

Hi gaurav2004

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

I have removed your duplicate thread. Please do not create duplicate threads.
One thread for an issue, please.
Continue replies for this issue in this thread.
Thank you.
What anti-virus program are you using, is it configured to scan your e-mails?
If so, try disabling the scanning of messages and send a message addressed to yourself to test.
Are you also using an anti-spam program?
Try creating a new profile to test if the same behavior occurs in the new profile:
How to create a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2007 and in Outlook 2003
Cancel out of any prompts to import messages from the original profile.
Recreate your e-mail address and send a message addressed to yourself to test.

And/or,

in Outlook 2007, look in:
Tools > Trust Center > Add-ins
Disable any active Add-ins, restart Outlook 2007 then send a test message to yourself to test.

If the message goes through without problems, add back the Add-ins one at a time and test after restarting Outlook after each addition to see if the problem reoccurs.
Let us know what happens.

My problem is whenever I try to send mails from my outlook, it gives takes a long time to send/receive and finally gives and error message and does not send the mail. Please help.
Details of the error message

'Task Stumail - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B): 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)'

Answer:Outlook 2007 Sending Mail Problem

Hi piyushpanda, and welcome to BleepingComputer.I would do exactly what the error message has suggested. I would contact your ISP and see if they are having a problem with their email server, if not see if they can help you find out if you have a problem with your settings. To see if you are making contact with them you can ping your ISP. Go to Start> Run, and in the box type in the word ping, set a space and then type in you ISP, example alldial.net. A page will appear in black with white lettering with something like Pinging (your ISP and its address) with 32 bytes of data:, and then there should be three replys which will show it is from the same address, and will show that it recognized the 32 bytes, and show the time that it took, example: time= 336ms.

Hello:

I notice in my sent items folder in Outlook 2007 that I am sending out Spam; seems to be 0 - 2 messages a day and is a little random. All the messages are either magazine subscriptions or phishing mailers; and it looks like it started one month ago. I never notice any odd emails in my outbox and I don't notice any other problems with my computer at this time.

I am using Windows Vista SP1; and I had been using AVG antivirus and Windows Defender. It might be a bad idea, but I usually have UAC disabled because I find it to be the most annoying thing since ... idunno ... it's just completely annoying. There is only one account in windows.

I will try to go through the instructions on the sticky "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support" in the order that I did them:

1. I ran Control Panel -> Programs and Features, and do not see any unexpected programs listed. There are no listings for Sun Java.

2. MSCONFIG is set for Normal Setup.

3. I emptied quarantine in AVG

4. I emptied the recycle bin

5. I ran the CCleaner (default settings after install)

6. I enabled the viewing of system and hidden files/folder

7. I downloaded SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot, Malwarebytes, MGtools to C:\

8. UAC was already disabled

9. Installed SuperAntiSpyWare with default settings, unplugged internet connection, made changes to preferences from the FAQ, performed complete scan on C:\ and performed repair on broken Network Connection (Win... Read more

I am having problems sending messages in Outlook 2007. I can receive messages just find, but when I try to send messages, I get the following error message

Task '[email protected] - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Outlook worked fine yesterday (i.e, I was able to both send and receive messages). The only difference between yesterday and today is that yesterday I was using a wireless connection to connect to the internet and today I am at home using my broadband connection.

Can anyone help me? What could be blocking my outgoing access to the server?

Thanks!!!!

I picked up a virus somewhere - my Outlook 2007 is sending out a virus laden email to my contacts. I have done a virus, malware, rootkit scan with 5 different programs - avg, superantispam, threatfire, ad-aware and vipre. On a clean install of both Vista Business 32bit and Office 2007 Professional, when I attempted to send an email with a small Word doc attached (47k), the send/receive box-icon began flickering nonstop, Outlook indicated that it was synchronizing folders, and the only way to end this endless loop was through task manager by shutting down the Outlook process.

The email with attachment remained in the outbox, never sent. I'm back to a clean install of Vista but am reluctant to attempt a clean install Office 2007 until I can figure out what caused this behavior in the first place. Any ideas?

I have been using outlook 2007 with vista for over 6 months now and everything was working fine. all of a sudden emails were not being sent (ie they remained in the outbox). i got an error box saying:reported error (0x800CC78): cannot send the message. verify email address in your account properties. the server responded: 550 5.7.1 Access denied.also, i am not able to delete any emails: from sent items folder - i get a window saying 'the folder is full', and if i try deleting from deleted items folder, i gert a window saying: 'The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook'.

can anyone please help me?? when i use the servers website to send emails, it works. however it is very inconvenient

I've posted this problem before, but haven't received anything that helped. Now I'm asking if anyone knows of a logfile that I could look at in Outlook 2007 that might explain why mail is getting stuck in the outbox?

I'm using IMAP with Rackspace mail hosting, have tried running Outlook 2007 in safe mode, turning off Norton Internet Security email scanning, created a new profile, ran scanpst.exe - nothing seems to help. Mail will occasionally get stuck in the outbox, can't figure out what the circumstances are that cause it, sometimes mail will send flawlessly all day, only to fail later in the day.

Bringing down Outlook and re-starting it will cause the mail to be sent, but sometimes I don't notice that mail is stuck, and I'll have 5-6 emails that I assumed had gone out but are stuck. The "test" send/receive in Outlook works fine, however.

I'm thinking that there should be some sort of logfile where I might be able to tell what's happening to Outlook - it's almost as if it doesn't think that I'm logged in - PLEASE, anyone have any ideas?

Answer:Any logfiles to determine sending problem in Outlook 2007?

You can use the Microsoft FitIt or follow the manual directions further down the page at:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300479

Side thoughts: Are you using the secure option in outgoing mail? There could be settings worth tinkering with including different ports to send on. Many ISP's no longer allow the default ports (25 if I recall correctly) due to hacking.

Running Outlook 2007 on 64 bit Win 7 I'm experiencing trouble sending medium to large attachments. This is not an unknown issue I believe, but I've yet to see a good solution.
On sending a message with, say, 4Mb attachment, or maybe 2-3 mp3's totalling 10Mb, the message sits in the outbox and Outlook seems to continuously send data until forced to shut down. Message then has to be manually removed from Outbox. First time this happened it chewed about a Gb of my allowance!!

I've tried turning off AV scan of outgoing email but that's another story - BitDefender - it always scans outgoing email! (At present under action)
Also I've experimented adjusting server time-out to around 7 minutes.

I should add that the recipient may actually get the email plus attachment once or several times; meanwhile the message stubbornly remains in the outbox.
Any thoughts on this (common?) Outlook 2007 ailment would be appreciated.
- Chris

I use Windows Lite Mail, but all these appl are similar. With Windows, I go to accounts, go to advanced and there I find a drop down menu that shows the max Mb, to send at any one time. There is something similar in outlook, I am sure. Find it and adjust it.

I'm having some issues on the receiving end when i send a PDF from Outlook 2007. When a PDF attachment is sent from Outlook the receiving ends receives the error message "insufficient data for an image" when trying to open it up with adobe reader. When they try to open it with Fox it Reader the PDF consists of a bunch of horizontal black streaks. These issues only arise when sending a PDF, if we zip the PDF up and send it, it works fine. I've pretty much narrowed it down to Outlook being the issue, we can send the PDF from our web-mail (powered by argosoft) or gmail, yahoo, etc. and the receiving end can view the PDF with no errors or issues. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this same issue, if so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a client who uses Office Outlook 2007 (which I recently installed over her old Outlook 97) for her email. It's been working perfectly for almost two months. However about two weeks ago, she realized the program will not send emails.

I've tried this method (and other variations of it following the same principle), but it has not helped. Furthermore, I've tried turning off Avira Antivir Guard to stop it from scanning incoming or outgoing messages. That didn't help either.

I would prefer not contacting the email provider unless absolutely necessary as I doubt this is an issue on their part. Could anyone help me get this working?

When I send a distribution list from my Outlook 2007 to someone with Outlook 2003, the distribution list looks perfect when they click on the attachment. But, after they click on Save and Close, the distribution list does not show up in their contact list (or anywhere else that I can find). Is there a way to share distribution lists between these two Outlooks?
Thanks,

Hi

I have been using Win7 64bit for around 2 weeks and previously was on Vista 32bit. Everything is pretty smooth except for Office 2007 Outlook.

As far as it is, I have attempted to forward html emails but failed. Outlook will freeze and the round hourglass cursor will keep turning. Anymore clicking will cause Outlook to show "Not responding" and either it will pop up "Restart Program." or "Close Program".

I have tried leaving it for a few to see if the email goes out. And no, it didn't work too. The email that I tried to send does not appear in the Draft, Outbox or anywhere, even after Outlook restarts. The freeze appears to happen when i click Send button on any html emails that i try to forward. Be it Amazon invoice, edms from hotels or promotional emails from Macy's.

There will be no problem if i'm sending a normal text email and in fact, it sends out really fast too.

I have also repair Outlook, Scanpst on my pst, did a uninstall and reinstall, run in compatibility mode for Winxp SP3, Winvista. None seems to work. I didn't get the problem when i was on Vista.

I googled quite a bit but unfortunately no solutions i can find. Perhaps it's something that i've overlooked and maybe it's something with Win7 on Outlook 2007.

Can someone help?

Answer:Outlook 2007 hangs on sending html emails in Windows 7

If you go to tools, options, mail format tab - what is your default sending format? I attached a screenshot of my settings which seem to work ok.

The messages that you are forwarding, is the content blocked? That could cause a hang since Outlook would have to download the images etc in order to compose the forwarded html message.

As a test haev you tried composing and HTML message and sending it to yourself, then try forwarding it?

Its an annoying problem I know. But we'll get to the bottom of it.

I have read through other threads seen on this topic - still no joy.
If I send an email with attachment around 1MB or larger Outlook continues to send multiple copies until I physically remove from outbox. It sent 99 copies of the email to one recipient and only ceased because the administrator at my friend's work blocked me. Today I removed that version of 2007 Office and reloaded a different copy (MS Office Enterprise 2007). Problem still exists. I am at wits end...and losing friends quickly...well not quite.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem as CoachMcGuirk does in this thread:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/173074/infected-with-unknown-virus-outlook-2007-sending-spam-upon-open/I only discovered it about 30mins ago... hadn't downloaded or installed anything today so perhaps it's been sitting there idle for a while? As it's only just discovered I am still in the process of doing different scans (online ones) but my local and up-to-date AVG did not pick anything up.As a temporary measure I have created a bogus email account and made it default for outlook as it only tries to send from the default account. It is definitely sending the emails from my computer because in the send/receive status it says "Sending X/Y"... however there is nothing in sent items or in drafts. Also, by logging into my gmail account online I can see the messages it has sent (it saves them in its sentbox). In the other thread you asked for what the emails said. I've recently begun experiencing a problem with my Outlook 2007. When I open the program, some malicious program is sending out a number of spam emails using my default email account in Outlook. The spam bot does not appear to be sending emails to my Outlook contacts, rather seemingly random addresses. I've gotten bounce-back emails showing undeliverable mail from my account that I obviously didn't send (your standard spam topics).I'm generally fairly competent in removal, but this one has me completely stumped. I've done all the recommend scans and they all come up clean. Google search reveals I'm not the only one to see this (seems to be a recently occurring problem), but no posted solutions that I could find. Time to turn it over to the generous experts here. I am trying to set up a second imap email address using Outlook 2007.
My first address work fine.
When trying to use the second address I am unable to change the delivery folder for new items. There is no Change Folder radio button, not even a greyed out one. I have found lots of advice on the Microsoft help pages but none of it works (no change there then!).
How can I change the folder? I am unable to use the new address until this folder is changed.
Cheers,

Not quite sure what you mean. Outlook creates a separate folder for each imap account. POP accounts share an inbox but imap does not.

I have been using 2003 and 2007 Outlook Express for my emails for years. Is it possible to transfer my email contacts from 2007 to my new computer?

Thanks LeeB

I searched tutorials and found nothing

Answer:Can I transfer Email Contacts from Outlook 2007 to W-10 Default Email

Dealing with different E-Mail clients [installed] and online/Webmail has become one of the most frustrating issues of the last few years.

Outlook Express was discontinued, last came with Windows XP. Windows Vista had Mail and Windows 7 had no built-in E-Mail Client. With Outlook Express the contacts were in the Windows Address Book and the file name was some_name.wab, whatever the user set the E-Mail up as. Outlook Express did not use the 2003 and 2007 version titles, that was with Microsoft Outlook, part of Microsoft Office which used different storage techniques. Generally both types could Export contacts as .csv files which could be used in other programs or even as a spreadsheet in such a program as Excel, QuattroPro, etc. Win7 and newer have a Contacts listing in C:\Users\user-name that also can be exported.

Everything else works fine on these other networks, but I have to go to my server websites that I am pulling my email from to be able to send or reply to them. Any idea what I have wrong please?

Windows 7 COMPAQ HP 64 bit and OUtlook 2007.
Thanks
Michael

Answer:Cannot sent email from outlook 2007

First thing I would check is in the advanced account settings check the SMTP server TAB and that the "my server requires me to log on) is set and the "use same settings as my mail server" is on.

Also check the port settings, if set for SSL or TLS try without or auto and vice versa

Not sure if the actual options I've given are correct wording but you should be able to see the ones I mean

It may take a few tries to get things sorted but it should be one of the above

I have an Excel workbook in which I keep racing records. The data goes back about 5 years and as i have accumulated several hundred thousand records, I have moved much of the historical data onto separate sheets in the workbook so that values for calcs that rely on the historical data can be auto updated.

For current data I use a separare sheet as i was finding that it was takin g a long time to perform calcs when all the data (up to 200,000 rows) was all on the 1 sheet.

I wanted to know if it was possible to convert what i have to Access as it has been suggested that a database would do a better job of handling so much data, rather than Excel. I have moderate knowledge of Excel and have been able to build up the series of formulas for calculations in Excel over the years and have it pretty well doing all the things i want now but I have very little knowledge of Access design so not sure if I can convert and how to do it.

The Excel workbook contains a lot of formula that do calcs on past results and then use those calcs to do predeictive calcs for upcoming races. Because it was very "maths"based to start with, I started off using Excel and it has all grown from there. Is it possible to convert what I have to Access? Is is reasonably able to be done (by a moderate user like me with some expert help)?.
The files i have are too big to attach here, but would be happy to prepare some sheets without much data to show what i am doing and get advice.

Have been trying to follow suggestions from similar posts, but nothing working. Have tried to save as .xls and .csv, as well as trying to 'define names' of the various columns, but nothing allows me to import complete contact into Outlook. Please help, very important to get these contacts into Outlook asap. Thank you

Answer:Issues importing large contact list in Excel 2007 to Outlook 2007

Hi hbsurfer

Try going about it backwards.
Create one Contact in Outlook 2007, then Export that one Contact to a .csv file.
Then you will be able to see the format Outlook 2007 is using and reconfigure your headers in the Excel spreadsheet.
When all headers match, you should be able to Import it. Or copy the excel information to the one contact .csv file and Import that.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

On computer1, I have successfully created a customized form with user-define fields in Outlook 2007 and a merge document in Word 2007 that works (starting the merge from Outlook 2007). I want to copy the custom form with the user-define fields and the merge document to a second computer (computer2).

I saved the custom form with fields from computer1 to a *.fdm file using the Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, Custom Forms, Manage forms. On computer2 I used the same process to install the custom form file (*.fdm) into Outlook 2007 and created a new contact folder that uses the form and displays/adds new contact records correctly. I also copied the Word merge document to computer2. Computer1 and computer2 both have Office 2007.

All the problems occur on computer2. First, when I attempted to merge (starting in Outlook 2007), Word gave messages that all my user-defined fields did NOT exist in the database although I could see them in the Contact records. I attempted to create a new document and the user-define fields do NOT show up in the Word merge field list either.

On computer2, I created from scratch a new contacts folder with a new custom form and user-define fields which works when merging. Therefore, the problem seems to be that Word can not see the fields I created from the *.fdm file I installed.

Can anyone please help me with this? Thank you in advance.

Don

I want to email a report to an offsite user that doesn't have access 2007. How can I automate this - either sending them a xcel spreadsheet or a pdf without having my onsite user do more than request the report to run.
I need the offsite user to have the information when it has been updated. I know if it were on a sharepoint server this wouldn't be a problem; but I'm doing things step by step. If the system is working, I can consider sharepoint - but let's get it there first!
Would love to send her an email that gives her the opportunity to update and mail it back to me - but can't seem to get more than 1 record to appear when using that option; but the big thing is that it must be automated.
Any directions?
Regards

Charmian

I have Office 2007 on Windows 7.

When I am working on a sheet (or document) the ribbon can become inaccessible, nothing works when I click it (like a 'Not Responding' screen).

If, I switch to another open sheet/doc and then switch back the ribbon is accessible again!

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Office plus SP's twice but the problem persists, and, as is usually the case, this does not happen all the time but enough times for it to be really annoying!

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time on this

Neil

I'm trying to get the results of Access queries to be linked to an Excel workbook. I've been using the Data tab in Excel, clicking the "From Access" button in the upper left, and choosing the Access database. Then it asks what query I want to link.

The problem arises when I try to link a specific query, which we'll call qry_x. This query is based on several other queries, one of which is qry_z. Frustratingly, when I try to link qry_x to the Excel workbook, I get an error message that says that Access can't find qry_z, and suggests maybe I spelled the name incorrectly.

However, qry_z definitely exists as part of the database, and when I run qry_x (which is based on qry_z) in Access, the correct results are displayed with no error.

Note: qry_x is the only query this is happening to. I can link any other query with no problem at all, including qry_z!!!

What could be going wrong?

Thanks in advance.

When we try and set an attachment with an email it strips the attachment but still sends the email. We've reinstalled outlook but this didn't make a difference. We've also turned off our anti virus software and it still doesn't attach. The email message itself is send but any attached file is stripped off the email and doesn't go to the recipient or our outbox.
If any one could help or have any ideas it would be great.

On my work computer we all have Microsoft Outlook 2007. We had an IT guy set us all up on it but I'm thinking my problems will have to be solved using some internet help.At the beginning of the year I switched offices and started using a new computer. I have tried setting up my email in Outlook but seem to have failed and I don't know what I did or what I can do to fix it. I can receive (some) emails but cannot send any. They sit in my outbox forever and when I shut down it gives me an error asking if I want to continue to try to send the messages. I went into "add a new account" and I think that is what I messed up. It gives me this window it pops up atleast 3 times and just have to cancel it each time.So my question is: how do I get rid of that sign in box and how can I start sending emails?

I have followed the instructions from Microsoft...removed all filtering.

Also selected all the domain names from frequent correspondent companies (our own company, husband's etc.) as "safe" and still, everything is classified as Junk.

Should this be significant:

When I indicate "Not Junk" it moves it into inbox, but will not let me open any attachments. It keeps the "protection" turned on. I have to close Outlook and get back on, before I have access.

I find nothing in the Microsoft Knowledge base that addresses this.

Hi
I had the same problem with my email program. Tracked the problem to the settings on my antivirus. I was using Norton at the time. As soon as I removed Norton and replaced with Avast and Mailwasher the problem disappeared. Not sure if this helps but sounds like an issue between programs.

This is for Outlook 2007, installed on my wife's brand new laptop. It's a Dell Vostro 1320, plenty of RAM and a more than fast processor. It's running Windows 7 and has Office 2007 Enterprise installed. The install was working fine and the deleting was working okay (I believe so) upon initially installing. Today my wife pointed out that she cannot delete emails by using the delete key, CTRL+D or the X in the toolbar (which should be red but its grayed out). I tried repairing the PST file, to no avail, and tried an OST file repair but there is not a .ost file. It's not caching. I'm not sure if that's a cause for the problem or not. Also, worth mentioning, is that I imported 2 .pst files from her old laptop (Outlook 2007) so that her emails would be present in her inbox. The email is set up with IMAP so it needed to be done that way because old emails weren't pushing out from the server.

So what's wrong with the deleting?

Sorry for so much information, but I felt it was good to unload the details.

Thanks,
Eric

PS - I neglected to mention that if she opens an email and deletes from the toolbar there it works fine.

Answer:Cannot delete email in outlook 2007

When using IMAP emails are not necessarily deleted, they are only marked for deletion until the server purges them.

When you select delete on an email does anything happen? You should see a line marked through it to note it has been marked for deletion.

When I open Outlook 2007 Instead of my usual headers with preview I get a mixture, seemingly random, of headers. Some are displayed in a bold type single line, others in a bold header, with three lines of preview, in blue standard type. I have played with the view settings, but nothing seems to change what I see. How can I get all of the messages to appear as header with preview?

Answer:Outlook 2007 Email headers

This is how you can show headers in Outlook 2007;Click view > arrange by > custom > other settings in the reading pane section insure the Hide Header Information box is unchecked. To see the complete header information of a particular message follow these instructions: Open a message. On the Message tab, in the Options group, click the Dialog Box Laucher . In the Message Options dialog box, the headers appear in the Internet headers box.Hope this helps. J.B.

I can't get email on 2007 Outlook to send when clicking the send button in the mail message window. Rather than send it puts the message in the outbox for sending later. How do I change this setting?

Answer:Outlook 2007 email issue

I don't have 2007, but in 2003, under Tools/Options then the Mail Set Up tab, I have a 'Send immediately when connected' box. If you have similar you may want to check this is ticked. Also, in the same place there is a 'send/receive' button. Click this and then adjust the auto send/receive times; it may be set at something daft like 20 mins.
