[Solved] M900 Bluetooth connection problem

Question: [Solved] M900 Bluetooth connection problem

I have a M900 10NE Tiny with latest BIOS and Drivers which doesn't find Bluetooth devices. Neither with the Windows Bluetooth tool nor with the "Lenovo Bluetooth Lock".The Bluetooth-Device is visible in the device manager. For test purpose I plugged in a old Bluetooth dongle which work without problems. Can anybody give me some hints? Is it possible that's a hardware problem, BIOS settings? Environment:M900 10NE TinyWindows 10 Pro 64bitBluetooth Driver:- Date: 29.9.2016- Version: 19.11.1639.649

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: [Solved] M900 Bluetooth connection problem

I really don't know why and how I came to this solution but it worked. When you open the case you can see on the front left side the wires for Bluetooth and Wifi. On my M900 the two wires for Main and Aux where connected in the wrong order. After inverting the order of the two cables, Wifi and Bluetooth worked without problems. In the picture you can see the correct wiring.

The bluetooth device on my M900 tiny can see other devices but cannot connect to them. It has never worked since I got it. When I click on pair, sometimes the code comes up on both devices. When I click yes for code matches, it times out saying "code doesn't match other device" or other times the code doesn't even come up. A tech came and checked the hardware which is ok. I updated the driver and checked other common issues. I have a Yoga 2 Pro and that has no connection problems.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....

My keyboard won't stay connected to the Bluetooth. Windows disabled the Bluetooth and gave this messge: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)." What is this and how do I fix it? I can't get my Logitech K810 keybaord to stay connected. It pairs, and works for awhile, then disconnests, even though it says it is connected. Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

My M900 arrived this morning. I hooked it with my Philips monitor (model 244E5Q) built in August 2014. The computer starts up, so does the screen, but right afterwards the messages "No video input" and "Enter sleep mode" appear, after which both of them nod off. Why, though? Do I need a different sort of cable than a VGA cable? Not another monitor, I hope! Thanks in advance. Bjoern (computer illiterate).

Trying to get a Bluetooth connection to my new Palm T|X

Setting up Bluetooth, I checked “Turn Discovery on” & unchecked “Turn off the Bluetooth radio” in the options Tab under Bluetooth devices.

When I tried to apply these changes I received the following error message (which Microsoft does not seem to know exists, from my search of their support section):

An error occurred while Windows was saving your settings. The following settings were not saved: Discoverability settings Connection settings

“Restore defaults” did not turn on Discovery, but did allow Bluetooth radio. Restore Defaults received a similar message (minus Connection settings)

I'm trying to hook up a wireless USB Bluetooth printer adapter. It is an
AmbiCom BT-PA about two years old. It worked when I bought it, but
hasn't been used for a while. My laptop sees the printer (paired with
it) over the BT connection, but will not print. I think the problem is
in that the laptop indicates that the connection is through Com Port 12,
(the serial port if I am not mistaken, though I could be) when it is connected to a
USB port. I see no options to change the connection in the computer. I
have a serial to USB adapter from my Palm Pilot days, but I need a male
to female USB adapter to hook it up. Does that seem like a reasonable
plan, or am I way of base here? If I need to buy some new hardware, or whatever, I am willing.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Answer:Solved: Bluetooth printer connection

The settings in the all-in-one Brother MFC-7840W that I was trying to hook up needed to be changed. Turns out that it connects nicely to my wireless network with no additional print server, bluetooth or otherwise, needed.
At finally dawned on me that if the computer "paired" with the printer, the connection was there. There had to be something in the printer that was stopping printing. Duh....
Well, it says on your home page that you don't mind dumb questions......

So my bluetooth adapter should be here tomorrow, and i decided to make sure it was easy enough to hook up to windows on my macbook pro running windows 7 64 bit. it sees the headset, but says ' no drivers available'.

if i reboot the macbook into OS X, bluetooth works flawlessly and I can stream audio from the computer to the headset. its windows I'm having a problem with, and afraid I will have the same problem in Windows 10, which is what I am running on my desktop.

is there a Windows driver for the LG HBS-730 headset?

I want to stream game audio from the computer to the headset. Kind of sucks having to have Arkham City on super low volume, or wearing huge clunky headphones popular with WoW back in 2008.

Answer:LG HBS-730 bluetooth connection problem

Have you tried running the bluetooth adapter on a true Windows7 machine? Apps with drivers built for Win7 don't always work properly on Mac OS in boot camp or emulation mode.

Does the bluetooth adapter spec state that it's compatible with Mac OSX as well as Win7??

My apologies if this isn't the correct thread for this post. In my opinion Bluetooth falls in the networking niche. Please move it to the appropriate thread if not. Thanks!

First off I want to thank you for any help you may provide and for this wonderfull website! This is my first post here as I am pretty tech savvy and don’t usually find myself in the position where I need to ask for help. With that being said I will get to the point of this post.

I recently bought a cell, a T-Mobile Sparq to be completely accurate, and tried to connect it to my laptop via Bluetooth. My laptop is an Asus G75VW which comes with BT capabilities. When I run the BT suite and click “Add a Device” it sits at the “Searching for a device.. Make sure your device is discoverable.” Prompt for as long as I let it without discovering my phone. I made sure my phone’s BT is active and discoverable. My next step was to go into my Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services> Services (Local) to make sure BT and its dependencies where active, which they were. I updated all my related drivers and when that didn’t work I un-installed and re-installed them, to no avail. I checked my device manager to make sure there were no conflicts there and found nothing. I then spent a few hours on Google troubleshooting and was not able to find anything that I had not already tried. That’s when I decided to drop this problem onto the genius minds of the Tech-Guy forums for if they can’t so... Read more

I have just got an X121e and it cannot find any bluetooth devices. I have made sure the bluetooth in the laptop is on and checked the settings to enable it to be found and connected to, yet it cannot find either of the two mobiles I have tried to pair with it. Both the phones can find the laptop however, but the bluetooth connection fails. I've downloaded and installed the latest bluetooth driver from the Lenovo website. What else can I do? Is the problem the laptop, bluetooth, windows 7 or what?

Answer:X121e bluetooth connection problem

Hi

You need to install following drivers first

1. Hotkey Drivers
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014985

2. Access Connection

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-73682

After installation restart the system , Turn on the Wlan Radio Button , after windows is logged in Press Fn + F5 button to verify the Bluetooth and Wlan status .

Then Make your computer discoverable , so that it can be accessed by other devices

Hope This Helps

I have a Dell studio 15 with Windows 7 and Bluetooth. I am trying to install Manhattan 2800 Bluetooth bookshelf speakers. They sometimes play but disconnect intermittently. When Bluetooth disconnects I have to completely shut down and start over. (I haven't been able to fix it with just Restart.)

Here is a clue:
In "devices and Printers" it shows the laptop as a device:
Studio 15 [properties]

Selecting: [Bluetooth L2CAP Interface] -- properties/General
"Device status
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

Selecting: [Bluetooth Hands free audio] -- properties
Driver= Broadcom Corp, 7/1/2009,6.2.0.9500
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware compatibility Publisher.

The speaker documentation indicates Bluetooth v1.2, class 2 and A2DP protocol support

The Bluetooth icon on the bar at the bottom of the desktop disappears when the connection breaks while looking at properties.

This might be related -- I also have a Kensington Bluetooth trackball mouse that has intermittent problems with connecting at start-up. When the mouse doesn't work at start-up, I can usually make it work by removing its batteries and putting them back.

Advice will be appreciated,
Stan Hilliard

Answer:Intermittant problem with new bluetooth connection

You could consider getting a USB based Bluetooth adapter exclusively for your speakers. One that supports A2DP would be perfect.

Here are a few:

Amazon.com: IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421): Electronics

So, this is now driving me absolutely insane, and I couldn't have better chances for success (or so I think).
I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad W530 (Windows 8), and I have a Lumia 920 (Windows Phone 8). Seems pretty darn compatible, right?
Well my issue is simply "They will not connect or cooperate well"

Let me first say that through a blurry mashing of key presses and strange settings windows I have gotten the two to connect before for music control. But only twice.

The issue I have is apparently on both the phone and the computer-
When I tap connect on the phone, it stays connected for a few seconds, then disconnects.
When I try and connect on the laptop, it won't connect at all.
When I try and open the bluetooth device window, it stay open for a couple seconds and then closes.
Sometimes the music controller window appears, then disappears.

My phone doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it, I have restarted the phone completely with no effect.
The computer is under a month old with no driver issues or hardware issues, so it can't be that either.
What on earth am I doing wrong here? Why doesn't Windows (8) (and I hate saying this) have an efficient bluetooth connection service like Mac? connecting my phone to a Mac easier than easy. On windows it's nearly asking me to remove my hair strand by strand.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:i had a problem about bluetooth connection in z400

hi Charles_xiang,

Welcome to the Forums.

Are you getting pairing issues?
 - if you are, can you provide the error

Also, try the following:
1. Enable the bluetooth by pressing the Windows logo key? +C > Change PC Settings > Wireless (left pane) and toggle Bluetooth to ON.
   - when finished, try to clear the paired devices on your phone and pair it again to the PC

2. If you have the Intel Centrino 2230 (Wi-Fi+Bluetooth) combo adapter, navigate to the Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs & Features and uninstall the Intel + WiFi bluetooth software.
   -when done, install the following:
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 8* (install this first)
    Intel® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software for Windows 8*

-after installing, repeat Step 1 and observe

Let me know your findings.

This does not happen with laptop speakers. I tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers as it was suggested, yet this did not solve the issue. Hope this issue can be solved Ken

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

I started having a similar issue when I installed the latest Wifi/BT driver.  Even after I rolled back to the older driver, something had changed. I no longer am able to use my BT Creative D100 speakers as it causes my BT mouse to act up (similar symptoms you are having; but my mouse never stabilized). In addition, my USB3 Ethernet adapter no longer automatically switches back to Wifi when I unplug it (I have to manually reconnect to my wireless router). I very much regret installing the new drivers.  Before that, my Yoga 13 was very solid/stable.

When using cortana on my band 2 it always comes up as turn on blue tooth or make sure its connected. I just recently decided to switch to the Microsoft platform because I could use cortana with my voice and band 2. I went through hell and back trying to convert my android info into the Microsoft eco system. I don't know why im so determined and stubborn to keep trying with Microsoft. Your products on paper seem so superior but in reality are sub par. The only reason I switched to a microsoft phone was the voice connectivity with cortana. What I found is that the band worked better with android as well as all the other apps that are cross functional. Why on earth does a Microsoft product have so many issues talking with its own brand. I think i'm returning the phone and possibly even the band, even after returning to the store 5 times and wasting so much of my time. I'm disappointed Microsoft, yet will probably still keep trying your products, why why why./

The problem was a new  M900 SFF Desktop that appeared to be Dead On Arrival, as it produced no image after plugging a monitor into the VGA port. The cause was a  M900 500Gb i7  that arrived with a Nvidia  graphics card with no VGA socket, though there was the usual VGA port on the mother board. The easiest solution was to buy a Startech DisplayPort/VGA Active adapter (there are others)  and plug that into the Nvidia card so as to bring the VGA screen to life. There is also a Lenovo cable 57Y4393, perhaps that should be offered as an option on purchase of the M900.This solution worked with a Belkin KVM switch, after briefly connecting the Nvidia card directly to the VGA monitor to pick up the settings.A more expensive solution was to buy a monitor with a display port socket and cable, though that wouldn't  work with a Belkin  KVM Switch. One could also switch the settings in the BIOS to activate the VGA port on the motherboard, but that would require a DisplayPort monitor at the start .I hasten to add these solutions have already been referred to in this forum, and by Lenovo support,  for which many thanks;  I hope this different indexing helps others who see this as a DOA problem or are struggling with a KVM.

Hi Satellite users,

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

Hi, I have M900 Tiny and Lenovo 2324 24" Diplasy using Displayport adapter and HDMI cable. Update video driver manually, found instruction here, still same2. changed HDMI cable, not displayport (female to HDMI) adaptor, which is brand new, still same3. uninstalled Intel video card drive, restarted and Windows installed it again, still same. Same happens from both outputs, I was searching solutions for three days, tried different ways, nothing changed. Any ideas? I bought DisplayPort Adaptor from Maplin. P.S. Also, when I connect M900 to my TV with Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor, after 10 minutes, it disconnects.

I received a new M900, and set it up as per instructions. I have a Dell S2415H HDMI monitor attached with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter to an NVIDIA GT720 graphics card. When I power up, the system disk light indicates that it's working, but the monitor doesn't respond. Researching this, someone has suggested that for the initial power-up, a VGA cable might be required, and the driver to facilitate the Dell monitor could then be installed. Has anyone experienced this problem, and found a solution? Thank you.

Answer:M900 Desktop HDMI Monitor Problem

1.  Some DP to HDMI cables only work for specific product combinations.    I recommend using Lenovo DP adapters or AMD approved adapters (Google for the list.)    If you can bypass this cable, and/or see if any of the other ports work, that would be great.

2.   Could be the BIOS needs to be set for the add-on graphics card.    Put a monitor directly on the built-in ports, and check the BIOS video settings for enablement of the PCIe graphics card.

The other two it wont. I took it to work and hooked it up to a 4k monitor and each port worked fine. I tried another long DP cable at home and it didnt work. Is it the cable length of the Display port cable? If so is there a "for sure" workable 15 to 20 foot display port cable out there I can buy. Confused and tired.

Hello guys. My computer can not find any Bluetooth device. It does not have an integrated card, so I have bought a USB Bluetooth adapter. The system says its drivers are installed successfully it is working properly.
The Bluetooth Enumerator is shown in Settings-Hardware so the driver is Microsoft.
"Allow Bluetooth devices to find this comp" is checked
"Allow Bluetooth devices to connect" is checked
Bluetooth support service (bthserv) is shown as "Started" in the services. It is set as Local system.
My Bluetooth mouse and Bluetooth enabled mobile phone both are switched on work well and should be visible.
There is no interference from other sources
Still when I click Add device my computer can not recognize any
(I have lenovo G770 laptop, lenovo Bluetooth mouse and Sony Ericsson phone). When I press "connect" on my mouse it blinks but can not find the computer either.
Can anyone tell me what possibly can be wrong?

(I found an integrated lenovo G550 Bluetooth card - do you think it will work with my G770?)

Many thanks for your advice,
Alex

Answer:[SOLVED] Bluetooth problem

Hi,

I really had not this 'Bluetooth connection' before.
But, I really don't know that pairing my Nokia Bluetooth with my HP Laptop Bluetooth would add this Bluetooth connection or NOT.
I really guess this Bluetooth Connection was listed there when I connected my Lapotp Bluetooh with Nokia Bluetooth.
Thus, I will really not have any problems if I deleted it. But I am asking you what benefit of that Bluetooth Connection.
This is below was not here:

Finally Could please let me know how to use this Bluetooth Connection.(How to benefit from it)? I really use an ADSL Internet subscription, and not Dial-up connection. Also, I am connected wirelessly to a Modem-Router. Thus, what password and username should I type in the fields in the above screen shot?

Answer:'Bluetooth connection' is shown in my Network Connection suddnly.

Pairing a mobile phone will create such an entry and there's nothing to worry about. I don't think you can use it to go online since as you said you are using ADSL and if you want to go online via your modem with your phone just use the wifi connection

Hello, I am an IT Technician for an electric cooperative. I am having a very odd issue that I can not seem to resolve and I am in need of assistance.

We have 4 Dell Latitude notebooks all running XP and we also have some very high end GPS units made by Trimble that we are going to be using to stake out points on a map. Whenever I connection through bluetooth with the GPS I am able to pair but the GPS control software never recognizes it when I chose the COM port assigned to it. Whenever I connect it directly through a cable(serial to usb) it never detects it either.

However this is the odd part, when I test this on my desktop I am able to connect just fine with the exact same method.

Any ideas?

My daughter (who lives in London) recently purchased Sony SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth Wireless Speakers so that she could listen to MP3 music stored on her Sony Vaio N11H laptop (with Windows XP Home pre-installed). The problem is that all music/sound from the speakers is totally unrecognisable because it is 'stuttering' or 'hacking' so much (sorry I can't explain it in better terms...). A friend informed her that the problem is probably being caused by her BT Broadband Router/LAN connection. Can any member advise whether this might be what's causing the 'stuttering' sound? If not then can anyone please advise as to what might be the cause of the problem. I thought it might be the Belkin bluetooth adapter being slightly out of range, but my daughter informed me that she has tried using the speakers within a range of a few inches up to ~10m and it still makes no difference.... PLEASE HELP

P.S. My daughter also connects to the internet using an 802.11b/g wireless connection.

The Sony Vaio N11H laptop spec (from what I can recall) is as follows:

1.8GHz Dual Core Intel Processor
1GB Memory
160GB Hard Drive
5.1 On-board Sound
Sony DVD Burner
802.11b/g
Belkin F8T012uk Bluetooth USB+EDR Adapter Class 1 V2

The Sony SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth Wireless Speakers spec is as follows:

Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP/HFP/HSP Compatible
Bluetooth Class 2 (2.5mW) Output
Bluetooth Version: 2.0
Frequency: 2.4 GHz band (2.402 GHz - 2.480 GHz)

In my original post I stated that my daughter's laptop was a Sony Vaio "N11H". The model number I typed was in fact incorrect and should have been "N11S".

I have a Sony STR-DN1030 AV receiver with Bluetooth. I've been working on this issue on and off for 6 months now. The problem was : I would try pairing the computer to the receiver for audio and windows would say paired, but would not connect. I tried un-pairing and pairing , updating drivers, all kinds of forums.  Today I got the computer to connect.. I found a Bluetooth software in the add / remove programs list in the windows control panel. I figured it couldn't get any worse so i went ahead and uninstalled it and tried to connect. It connected right away. I believe that the dell manufactured software for Bluetooth was in conflict with another software ; possibly the windows software that controls Bluetooth devices. I haven't noticed that anything else has bee affected yet.
BTW I am using windows 10 pro
any way It was very frustrating so i wanted to share this information.

Hello, so I just got a new ISP yesterday and everything seemed to be working fine, until today. I haven't made any changes (no new updates on security/anti-virus programs). I have wireless internet access (it says it's connected and the diagnose tool can't identify a problem). My main browser is Chrome, but I have Internet Explorer and Firefox. For all three browsers, I can't connect to any websites, except for MSN.com. I have enabled cookies for Chrome, deleted the cache, and have added that program to my firewall's list of accepted programs, and it still won't load pages. However, programs like Spotify, Hulu Desktop, VLC updates, etc that need an internet connection work fine (also, I saved a session in chrome of opened tabs from yesterday and they loaded perfectly fine, but if I try and type them in a new window, they won't load). I have an ethernet cable too, but I don't understand how the programs that need an internet connection work (ex: Spotify radio, Skype,), but my browsers won't.

I don't know if these programs have anything to do with my browsing problem, but I have: CCleaner, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials), and I recently removed McAffee. For my firewall program, I just have Windows Firewall with Advanced Security

I've been having this problem for weeks now. I have a cable connection and a wireless router that plugs right into the computer, which happens to be the one I'm having a problem with (the laptops work fine with the wireless internet, only the computer is screwed up).

When I try going to websites such as AOL.com and MySpace (Only about half of the websites I visit will work), I know the internet connects bc it says "AOL - Welcome to AOL" and shows the logo in the search bar, but does not display. Just sits there...and loads, and loads and loads.

Also, for no reason my Flash player is gone all this sudden after this problem has been happening. And guess what? Adobe.com won't load so I can't reinstall it, but flash player is still listed in the "Add of Remove programs" list!
What could be the problem and what can I do to fix it?

Answer:[SOLVED] Computer Problem with Internet, connection's not the problem

Hi Brian2570...

it could be a malware issue..have you checked for any infections recently?

If after doing the above and you're sure you system is clean, perhaps try connecting to those sites with your firewall temporarily disabled?

Also, have a look in your HOSTS file for any added entries such as Adobe, AOL and MySpace:

- Click Start -> Run -> type:
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
- Click Ok
- That will open the hosts file in notepad...if it's quite large, try using the Edit -> Find feature to search for the entries.

Post back if you find any...or not please

I've resisted updating to Win 8.1 since it's release, Win 8, for me, is confusing enough! I finally decided to update to Win 8.1, downloaded/installed it, and now, periodically, pages won't load while browsing the Internet. It hangs up for 30 seconds or so then shows "This page Can Not be Displayed." I click the "fix" button to repair whatever is wrong and get the same explanation, "You are not connected to a network," close the information box and the page I was going to comes on. I watch my Network Connections while 8.1 is "fixing" the problem and it always shows I'm connected. 8.1, while "fixing" the problem, will disconnect my laptop from the network, momentarily, then reconnect it. It will work fine for a few minutes then it starts all over again. I have a second Win 7 laptop I run at the same time to see if it also gets disconnected and it runs fine, while the 8.1 machine is supposedly not connected.

I didn't have the problem before I downloaded 8.1. I don't have the problem on my Win7 laptop or desktop PC.The problem happens at all times of the day/night and at no specific time.

Answer:Solved: 8.1 Connection Problem

Download and install the latest wireless driver. For an integrated adapter get it from the PC manufacturer's web site. For an external adapter get it from the adapter manufacturer's site.

Hope you guys can help. I'm tearing my hair out.
My problem lies with a Dell Inspirion 8600, XP pro sp3. The computer was badly infected with malware including xp antivirus 2009. Using SmitFraudFix and Malwarebytes Anti-malware it is now clean. However even after cleaning it was still behaving strangely, freezing up on the desktop and refusing to shut down. After cleaning up the processes running in the background and certain miscreant services it now runs sweet. Except that I cannot get an internet connection. Using a BT Homehub I can get an active connection and AVG will update but IE7 stops responding and has to be shut down via Task Manager, and Firefox won't even start up. If there is no connection present then both programs will run fine although obviously not connecting. I've tried resetting IE, run netsh winsock fix, disabled all add-ons. Even done a repair installation of windows and tried a different hub. After the repair installation, replacing the hub and disabling the wireless I managed to get IE7 and Firefox to run if I used an ethernet cable although neither connected to the net. As soon as I re-enabled the wireless on the laptop the problem reoccurred.
I'm thinking now that windows has become so deeply corrupted that the repair installation didn't touch the problem so I'm considering a format and reinstall, however as this is a last resort and I prefer to fix problems if possible I was hoping that someone here may be able to offer... Read more

Hi! I was messing around with my, laptop since I haven't used it for a while. I was using the wireless connection--- no problem. I right clicked the icon in the tray, and saw listings for other wireless networks. I got curious and decided to see if I could connect to one of them. I clicked on connect, and it connected. When I brought up firefox, a page came up to log on, so I closed the browser, brought up the menu with my wireless connection, clicked on it, and it didn't connect. I went to network connections and clicked on repair, and got a message that it was trying to renew the address. I let it go for 10 minutes, and it was still trying to renew the address. I cancelled it and tried a few more times, but with the same results. What did I do, and how do I correct this. I'm using XP. Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank

Hello

Recently I changed my internet provider and since then I have problems connecting to a specific computer.

The fact is that the internet works fine on other computers (tablet, mobile) except in the laptop. It's a Toshiba Satellite L305 with Windows Vista 32bit. It connects well to other wifi networks, except in my house that only can connect with network cable. The wifi can connect but unsteadily, most of the time does not work.

Note that with the previous company everything was ok.

The point is that the problem is specifically with my home network, with this new provider and with the wifi of this laptop

The diagnosis is:

There may be a problem with your domain main server (DNS) configuration

Windows failed to find the well known host www.microsoft.com using DNS. The server may be down

I've tried a few options that I found on various forums, like entering a page with the ip, do ipconfig / release, renew, flush, bla bla bla and none of it worked for me. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or there are no solution for my case

Please Help !! I find it very irritating be attached to the modem to get internet

Hello.

My wireless network connection randomly stop. I have 2 computer hooked differently to the wireless router and they will show both different signs.

Ok my first computer(That I will call comp 1) is hooked to the wireless router with a cable. This computer will randomly disconnect from the internet every 30 mins or so,could be 1 hour.I have to restart the computer in order to connect to the internet again This computer OS is Windows XP home edition

My second computer (That I will call comp 2) is connect to the wireless router with a wireless network card adapter. This computer runs smooth but it is a pain to connect the computer to the internet when i open a new session. It takes 15 mins to connect to the internet but once done it is fine. This computer OS is Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

I installed Windows 7 on (comp 2) 3 days ago and the problems beggan that day.

The router model is a Asus RT-G32 and the network card adapter is a Asus PCI G-31

Once the internet cuts,i still get the signal.

Both computers are AMD Athlon X 2 processors 64bbits and are running smoothly.

I did a resset of the router and the problem is the same. Now I cannot access the router setup by using the adress 192.168.1.1

I can give any further details if needed

Any help would be much appreciated.

My friend purchased a new Dell about 2 weeks ago which came with Windows Vista. When she logs on to a website it may work fine, but half the time she gets a message saying Internet Explorer Cannot Display The Webpage. I went over there yesterday to download a new firewall and a few other things. CCcleaner went fine but when I tried to download Comodo, the download remaning time went from 3+ hours down to 11:29 and then froze. It kicked me off line so many times that I just gave up trying to get anything done. All I can think of is maybe there is something wrong with her internet connection, which she is going to give them a call today. She has Norton which I did try and disable but the problem stayed the same. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hi,

Hope you can help.

I have just bought myself a new PSU (Ace 750W - http://www.amazon.co.uk/ACE-750W-PSU-12cm-Red/dp/B006FUTT38) and I'm having a problem connecting it to my GPU (XFX R7800 Series). The problem is the power connector from the PSU doesn't exactly fit the GPU. The GPU accommodates X2 6pin PCi-E connectors but from the PSU there is only 1X 6pin and 1X4 pin connectors.
The instructions tell me that my GPU should have come with an adapter but I very much doubt whether I have this now. What adapter would this of been? Could I buy the adapter? Would this adapter allow me to successfully connect my new PSU to my GPU?

Regards.

Hey everybody, I know there is a stickied thread at the top of this board for Windows Live Messenger problems, but it's not much help. I've tried so many things...
First off, I've used MSN Messenger forever. About 3 days ago I upgraded from MSN 8.0 to WLM (Version 14 whatever) - basically, the newest one. But I cannot log in. I get the error code 8000401a, which, according to Google, means it's either a Firewall problem or a proxy problem.

Reasons why it's not a Firewall: Have disabled Window's Firewall temporarily, still didn't let me log in. The only virus protector I have is AVG, which I uninstalled for a bit to see if that helped. Nothing. I also have Spybot Search and Destory, but that doesn't even have a firewall.

I've tried getting help with many people, online and off, and noboby seems to want to take on connectivity problems. So, I was directed here. Please help if you can.

After about 1 hour of pulling my hair out all seems fine and works as normal and this happens every time i turn the laptop on. HELP

go to the acer site for the laptop and see if there is a driver update for the wireless adapter and indeed while you are there any other updates

When the computer is first assembled and the OS installed unless your supplier updated it for you, there may well be driver updates published since the date the laptop was dispatched to the supplier from Acer

Also check on network adapter settings
power management
as per screenshot
uncheck allow the computer to turn of power
DO NOT check allow to wake as per note see my screenshot please

I try to connect online but as soon as it connects my computer restarts and i get a message saying that my computer has just recovered from a serious error. I'm not sure what's wrong. Can anybody help?

Answer:Solved: Connection problem

its probably a driver problem - couple of things to do
1) List here how you are connected to the internet - the make model of things like routers/modems if they are connected by USB or LAN
2)
goto
control panel>
system>
advanced tab>
startup and recovery - settings>
under the title - system failure
untick - automatically restart

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320299

now when it crashes - it willnot restart and the blue screen should stay on the screen
post the info on the screen
it will give the errorcodes and a filename, if caused by a driver.

3) start>
control panel>
system>
hardware tab>
device manager button>

network adapters
click on the + sign

post backs whats there

also any ! X or ?

4) post an IPCONFIG /ALL
TWO Methods to do that - some people have problems with ONE----

ONE ---------------------------------
start
run
cmd
ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

TWO -----------------------------------------------

Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

Hey, I have a windows 7, on which I have started using a bluetooth mouse. However, it takes alot of time for the bluetooth mouse to get connected to my laptop after startup, which makes it useless because I am unable to do anything until it connects. Is there any way to make the bluetooth software start faster, or connect faster? I tried to look in the task-schedular but I couldnt see the bluetooth option in there, so I am lost on what to do.

Answer:Bluetooth Connection

Bluetooth usually takes awhile to connect, due to the fact that Windows has other services and processes that load during log in, prior to bluetooth devices being detected and connecting. What's the make and model of your bluetooth mouse?

Evening One and all, I purchased a cheap laptop at the weekend, and ran a network cable downstairs to it to enable internet/e-mail and lan connection, after a couple of initials problems (resolved here of course :-) )this worked well with full net access plus access to the shared files on the three desktops.Today, it seemed that the opportunity to purchase a bluetooth setup at a discount cost was too much to resist. The access point is a Belkin (no specific model number), and the laptop connection unit is a Belkin usb adaptor. After the initial install, I could access the net via a 'BluetoothNullConnection' modem in the dial-up settings of IE. This is stable enough, but at 115kbps is maybe a little slow as it has a 600k connection available - still it works. The problem is that I cannot access the other pc's on the lan. The standard local area connection quite rightly states that the cable is missing, as did a bluetooth lan adaptor which also appeared. After an uninstall/reinstall, I again have the net access, but still not the lan access - and now the bluetooth lan adaptor is not there either. Given that I can see the router at the 'far end' of the network, can someone suggest how to take this a step further and see the other pc's?If I run the network wizard, the bluetooth adaptor is not available to select as the required connection. The laptop is running xp home, and the pc's xp pro. Also, the desktops are connected via cable to the router (Linksys BEFSR41) as are the cable ... Read more

I'm not to sure if this discussion is in the right place, but i need some advice on bluetooth dongles and mobile phones. I'v got a dongle and the software that it comes with is XTNDconnect blue manager. I'v installed the dongle and the drivers and after a while of turning the pc off and on over about a week the dongle icon shows it to be unplugged. I am trying to sync my mobile phone(Nokia) with my pc. I have the software and installed it but on first installation was asked to select a connection type. I selected Infrared, but later found that bluetooth is better, so bought a bluetooth dongle instead. I have installed the bluetooth correctly, but on starting Nokia software, I only have the option of infrared for initial connection before I can run the program for the first time. I tried uninstalling then re-installing the software, but have since found out that the software stores a file in the computer to "remember" the first connection method I selected. Therefore, even after system restore followed by re-installing the software, it still asks for an infrared connection. Can someone please tell me how to delete this/these files so I can start afresh using bluetooth because I don't want to buy infrared hardware just to start the program so I can switch to bluetooth!
Can someone please help a very frustrated numpty?!?!

Hey guys!

Just recently purchased the Big Jambox, and I want to connect it via bluetooth. I connected it to my phone and Ipod, but it won't connect to my computer? I am trying to install drivers, but I just can't find the right one. I have an ASUS G55VW, and I can't connect to it! Thanks.

Answer:Bluetooth Connection

Are you sure the laptop has Bluetooth? It's listed as an option on the Asus website and if it came with Bluetooth you shouldn't need to install any drivers as it would have come with them already installed from Asus.

You may be able to get the optional Bluetooth module from Asus or Ebay or where ever but it would probably be easier and less expensive to get one of the little USB Bluetooth dongles like this: IOGEAR GBU521 Bluetooth 4.0 Micro Adapter - Newegg.com

I have an original W 8.1 in a Lenovo x1 Carbon (64) and want to connect via Bluetooth to an updated 8 to 8.1 HP Envy (64). Both have Bluetooth. Although I can connect other devices (phone, speaker, etc.) I cannot connect the 2 PC's. I can get the name of the PC on the device screen and am asked to connect but then I get a notation showing a pass code and am asked to verify (yes - no) if this is the pass code shown on the other computers screen. I cannot find a pass code for the other computer and none is shown on the screen. Is there a way to connect the two computers?

Answer:Bluetooth connection PC to PC

Here is the step-by-step way to connect two laptops using Bluetooth.

Software and Hardware Requirements

In-built Bluetooth device on laptopBluetooth dongle (optional)Bluetooth drivers (optional)

Important - Since Bluetooth use short wave radio frequencies for data transfer, devices using radio waves should not be placed within 100 meter radius. Bluetooth signals weaken if the devices are placed more than 100 meters apart. Also before connecting the two laptops using Bluetooth, make sure that neither of the laptop is infected with any sort of virus or malicious program. They can easily get transferred from one laptop to another without your knowledge.

Step 1 ? Determine the Type of Bluetooth
The first step is to determine the type of Bluetooth device your laptop has. Refer user?s manual of your laptop to determine this. If it has inbuilt Bluetooth, proceed to step 3, else, proceed as follows:

Step 2 ? Install Bluetooth
Purchase a Bluetooth dongle from market (usually costs $10) and insert it in one of the USB ports. Windows XP or higher versions of Windows do not require any sort of driver installation, however, if it?s Windows 98, install the drivers. All types of Bluetooth also come bundled with control software, which should also be installed at this step.

Step 3 ? Switch on the Bluetooth
Switch on the Bluetooth of each laptop. A bright blue glowing light indicates that the Bluetooth has been switched on and ready for connectivity.

Step 4 ? Assign Status

The only device shown in the audio settings is the laptop's speakers and they are checked as the default output. Please tell me how to get the sound bar set as the default output device. Thx.

If you had looked in the W10 section you would have seen Bluetooth is an issue for for now. Once that is sorted you should be able to successfully pair.

Recently my internet (wireless) has been cutting out every 5 minutes or so. If I manually disconnect and reconnect to the network, it works again for another 5 minutes. If I connect to a free wifi zone the internet doesn't cut out, so I thought the problem would be the network and not my computer, but I have 2 roommates who share the same wireless internet and neither of them are having this problem.

Additionally, my internet (and computer) is very very slow. I recently had a virus on my computer which redirected all my google searches to another website, but that problem was solved in another forum and I'm no longer being redirected. It seems that once I got rid of the virus I acquired the internet connectivity issue. The malware/virus forum referred me over here, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Recently brought desktop computer running Win XP back to my house from having been at my apartment at school for a few months. Everything worked just fine at school, no connection problems whatsoever. Set up computer here at home, connect to cable modem, and everything points towards the connection being just fine except I cannot access any websites through either IE or Firefox:

- ipconfig shows that the computer has obtained a valid ip address; been on the phone with tech support for both microsoft and my isp, both said it was a valid address
- can type ipconfig/release and then renew to successfully get new ip address; when release command is done, the icon in the bottom right hand corner comes up saying "limited or no connectivity," implying that the machine was connected beforehand
- viewing the "network connections" screen shows that local area connection has the status "connected"
- attempting to access a website through IE or Mozilla or logging onto a program such as AIM all just time out and claim there is no connection
- attempting to ping any website in the command prompt also says "request timed out"

So basically, everything I can think of on my computer points to the connection being there... I just can't get any http connection to any website, nor can I log onto AIM. I have tried accessing the internet with my firewall both shut off and completely uninstalled, I have tried it with all non-Microsoft processes disabled... Read more

I am having internet connection problems and would appreciate some advice and help.

I have 2 desk top pcs both using an adsl connection via a Belkin router, an arrangement which has worked well for several years with easy internet connection from both computers.

My phone line connects to the router which then connects direct to pcA, pcB is a wireless connection.

Until today everything worked fine and I was able to connect to the internet from both pcA and pcB, now a problem has arisen and I cannot connect to the internet using pcA (error message "unable to connect to server") but I can still connect to the net using pcB.

All lights on the router are showing green which suggests to me the router is ok and my server connection for both pcA and pcB is the same.

The problem would appear to be in pcA (software or hardware?) but where do I start to look?

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Answer:[SOLVED] Internet connection problem

Hi, jfv99. Welcome to TSF!

"There was no anti-virus installed." That was your biggest, you always.. ALWAYS need some kind of anti-virus. Try AVG (check my signature for link).

Please, go here[1] and post here with your test results, as it's very important.
