Preferred Solution: Acer v17 nitro keyboard is not working properly

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Acer v17 nitro keyboard is not working properly

Hi,Go to Device manager(right click windows logo at far left bottom in taskbar), expand keyboards, right click keyboard and click uninstall, then reboot and let windows install the driver, this may or may not rectify the problem but worth a try.

Did you open the notebook? Since the first step in opening the notebook is to remove the keyboard, so it could be that your ribbon cable was not properly connected. If not, I would recommend to open it up and try to reconnect the keyboard ribbon cable to see if it would solve the problem. If even this would not help you need to go to a service since it can be that your keyboard itself is the issue.

My webcam isn?t working. I have installed the Crystal Eye software and am told no webcam device is installed. I get the same message in Skype.I have been in device manager and do not see a webcam there either. There is no unknown device that could be the webcam either.I checked the BIOS and there is no way to disable or enable the webcam there. There is no FN button that seems to disable or enable the webcam.

Answer:Acer V 15 Nitro VN7 Webcam not Working

As the webcam is not displayed in the Device Manager as well, it seems that this is a hardware issue. To check this further, you are advised to contact your nearest Acer service center through the following link:http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service Hope this will help you.

Hello,        When I first got my laptop, the internet connection worked very well. Now, if I can manage to undisable the network card, clicking on the Internet symbol on the Taskbar gives me nothing, and when I restart it and am able to open up the panel for a few seconds, it shows that I am connected with a limited connection to my internet, and when I hover over it's symbol in the taskbar it says, "Unidentified network, No Internet access." Restarting my computer doesn't work, and it's gotten pretty annoying, because Steam is in that limbo that it forgot my credentials, so I'm locked out of all my games, so I kind of want my internet connection back as soon as possible. Hi,
We have Windows 7 64 bit with an Acer older laptop.
We are not sure what we did but our keyboard has changed in that we cannot use Ctrl + Cto copy or Ctrl + V for paste and other functions. Also our mouse pad does not work anymore. We are using an external USB keyboard and it works fine with a USD wireless mouse and sometimes a USB wired mouse which work fine.
My question is what can we do to restore our laptop keyboard?
We do not have or original Windows 7 CD anymore.
We have tried to fix the mouse driver but I think I made it worse.
We have tried to update the HID keyboard device but Windows says it is up-to-date.
Same with PS/2 keyboard device.
Same with the mouse- up-to-date.
Could we hit some key combination that changed the keyboard settings?
We have looked in the Acer PDF but see not solutions.
Thanks,
Chip MX (we are living in Mexico)

my keyboard starting to act wierd for about a month ago. my keyboard sends multiple keys to my laptop if I press the a button, the tab, esc, caps and the 1 key. for example: if I press a, I get a axcfn,./; alt is also active. as this is quite ennoying, the tab sends me to sleep mode, and esc activates flightmodus (great when gaming online). somehow I got to fix this temporary when rebooting or gently smashing into the keyboard (I tried to vacuum clean it, but that failed too).well, this morning have these keys decided stop sending anything to the laptop.  has anybody any Idea of what could happen and how I could fix it? thanks in advance Peter

I am working on an Acer Aspire 5050. When I first saw it, you had to strike the keyboard keys with force and repeatedly to get it to type a letter. On average, for every 10 strikes, it would type 4 strokes. I have researched this and have found no answers, just a lot of speculation and "try a restore or reformat", which is not an option for this owner. I tried disabling the Launch Manager, which controls the keyboard, but it made no difference after it reinstalled. I did see a post about the ACPI possibly being an issue. Since I could not find a way to disable it, and I did not want to risk having no battery management and who knows what other side effects, I decided to try the unit without the battery installed. I shut down the computer, removed the battery and rebooted the computer. Guess what - no more keyboard issue!! However, as soon as I put the battery back in, the keyboard stopped working properly again! The battery still seems to hold a good charge, lasting 1.5 hours according to the owner.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hello,
Few days ago I started to notice that some of the letters on my laptop keyboard randomly stop working. Sometimes they work and sometimes they won't work at all. These are the keys that stop responding: A,X,C,F,N. Basically I boot my OS and then whenever I try to press on one of those letters they don't respond. Another thing to mention, if I hold the letter for about 5-15 seconds it starts working again. At first this wasn't a big problem, but then it just got worse. This started to happen more frequently. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

I was cleaning my laptop's keyboard yesterday with a damp cloth (Apparently too damp), and when I turned it back on, the keyboard wasn't working properly. To sum it up, this is the list of problems it has right now:

- None of the keys work if I press them.

- Despite that, the computer thinks that certain buttons are being held down.
At first, I Removed the keyboard keys and tried to dry them with a hairdryer (I was careful to not let it get too hot).

Unfortunately, I turned my laptop off for this, by holding down the power button, as I couldn't do it with the start menu, as the computer registered the keyboard pressing down a button, directing me to the search browser.

Anyway, that meant that when I tried turning the laptop back on, it gave the screen which states that my laptop did not turn off correctly, and that I must select an option for restarting, and then press 'enter', which ofc, I can't do.

Its been nearly 24 hours since It stopped working, and I'm quite sure there is no water left in the keyboard (I could be wrong, but the initial amount of water that must have seeped in must have been tiny to begin with (The cloth I used was not that wet at all- I had strained it before I used it)

The only thing that changes at the moment is which key the computer thinks is being pressed- at the moment, it is the F12 key, as the computer keeps going into a system checkup (All hardware reads OK, but I can't get further than the ... Read more

My keyboard has been performing unusually. I don't do anything do activate this, but all of a sudden I can't type anymore and if I press D, for example, it goes to desktop and if I press K, a menu pops out from the right side of the screen.

I checked if somehow Sticky Keys or Filter Keys had been switched on but that is not the case. The FN button or CTRL button do not seem to be stuck.

When this happens, the only thing I can do to change the keyboard back to normal is to restart the computer.

Has this happened to anyone else and do you have a solution?

Answer:Keyboard not working properly

all those things happen if you hit windows key [they are windows key shortcuts]along with D and K,sure you windows key is not sticking down

Hi,

I have been having trouble getting my satellite laptop to boot up. Recovery disks & pressing F keys weren't working so I decided to open up the laptop to see if there were any loose connections. To my surprise, the laptop seemed to work again once I'd taken out the memory sticks and put them back in! Unfortunately before I did this I opened up the keyboard and had a look inside.

When I booted up and tried to use the keyboard keys half of them work and the other half seem to think they represent two other keys e.g. if I type the letter 'E' I will get '3' and '-' together. After 5-10 minutes the whole keyboard will then become totally unresponsive until I reboot again. Obviously I think I have done something here as this problem has occurred since I opened up the underside of the keyboard. Could this be a hardware fault I have caused or is there anyway this issue can be resolved without replacing anything?

Many thanks

Tom

Answer:Keyboard is not working properly

Hi Tom

Theoritically it could be just an lose connection between the keyboard and the motherboard but I?m afraid it can be some serious issue.
Possibly you have damaged the keyboard connector, cable or something similar and not the keyboard does not function properly.

I think the keyboard should be replaced to check if only this part is affected

this awful im using my screen keyboard to type this. this morning my keyboard was working just fine and now it says something like its not working properly. no error code, so i dont know.

i can type my password to log on to my computer and then nothing. :cry

ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, trouble shooting, checked for software changes, ect. even tried my backup keyboard.

Answer:keyboard not working properly

Your backup keyboard doesn't work either in the same port?

Does it still work 'outside' Windows ie in the Bios etc.

Desktop? USB? Have you tried a different USB port?

Uninstall all your keyboard software and plug in your back up board to a different port if you can.

When starting up your PC, look at the lights on the keyboards. During the POST (before it starts Windows) you'll see the lights (capslock, Numlock etc) flicker. When Windows actually loads, it will flicker again as it 'handing over' control to the OS and the OS drivers.

When Windows loads, after login, Do the lights stay on or go dark completely?

To save on screen typing (which is a pita), quote and yes/no some of the questions.

I have a hp laptop with windows 8. Today I was cleaning the keyboard and didn't realise the computer was still on. Now when I press the C letter key for example it comes up with "project to a connected screen " sidebar the g letter key comes up with "gv" instead. Also the backspace and space bar keys work weirdly - back space deletes nothing and acts like a space bar and the space bar vice versa.
I have checked the control panel - it is set to UK QWERTY keyboard which is what I normally use. Sticky keys is not on. How can I fix this? Thanks!

Answer:Keyboard Not Working Properly

If this is a wireless keyboard, have you tried resetting the keyboard and reveiver? Usually a small button on bottom of keyboard, and another button on the wireless transmitter... also you could try another usb for the receiver.

If its a wired kb check the connection... after you power system down. Unplug and then plug in again firmly. You could also try a different usb here as well.

Hope this helps!

Hi all,My wife was using the laptop when the battery went flat. After plugging it in and restarting the machine, certain keys have stopped working: Both shift keys, 1,2 q,w,a,s,z,x. tab key, capslock, esc. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5920, running Windows Vista Home Premium. The only way I could get back to desktop was to set the laptop to 'on screen keyboard' at start up as the password has a 1 in it. I've checked regional settings and the format is English (UK), Location is UK, keyboard is UK. I tried a system restore via Accessories and that failed.Any help gratefully received

Answer:Keyboard is not working properly

right click on the 'my computer' icon and choose properties and device manager, on the hardware tab and uninstall the keyboard, then re-boot the laptop. Windows will recognise the keyboard and settings and it should work as new.

Hey guys,

I am running XP on a Compact Presario SR1910NX and have been trouble shooting some basic issues.

I had recently cleaned my system of viruses with help from techguy, however the keyboard and mouse started acting up, by means they would not work either at boot up or after the computer took a nap due to non use.

I bought a new mouse and that did the trick, however, the keyboard is another issue.

I can use it only when in safe mode, which is how I am accessing this forum. Other than that, once the computer is turned on, all the lights on the keyboard light up, stay lit and the keys do not function.

I have tried different keyboards, but all have the same issue.

I am assuming it has something to do the the computer accessing the port for the keyboard.

I have also tried to do a system restore back to the point that the system was working and was clear of issues, but no matter what date I choose, I get an error message stating the computer can not restore the system, no other details as to why.

I have attached a copy of the current hijack this log to see if I missed any viruses or what not.

I have a Toshiba Sattelite Pro C650. My keyboard was working fine, but after turning it on, I noticed that my keyboard is not working like it's suppose to. For example, if I hit the "R" key, it will come out as "R4", if I hit the "Y" key, it will come out as "Y6." If i hit the space bar, 0 comes out and if I hit the "6" key, "Y6" comes out. Nothing was spilled on this laptop, I updated the bios to see if that would fix it, I also uninstalled the keybaord driver and reinstalled it. I purcahsed a new keyboard but still no solution. I have tried almost everything to fix this. I even took the laptop apart to dust out the motherboard and after putting everything back together, still no results. I formatted the operating system which was Windows 7 Home P then reinstalled Windows and I am still having this problem. What else should I do?

Before this round of trouble I discovered a problem with one of my graphics cards when they were in SLI with Blue screens and other nasty little things occuring when running Windows; I removed my secondary graphics card from the system to see if I could get a more stable OS, which I did.

I decided to test to see if the other graphics card running on it's own would lead to a stable system, however I was getting zeros on the VGA BIOS bootup screen and other problems before I even reached Windows Vista.

I did sucessfully boot into Vista and enter my password (using the keyboard) and move the mouse around, however once I had logged into my profile Vista began asking me if I wanted to install the drivers for the keyboard and mouse, I selected to update from the Internet and when Vista did not find any drivers for either device it disabled them.
Eventually I got both the keyboard and mouse functioning again by reinstalling Intellipoint pro and the Logitech setpoint.

While using the second graphics card I noted some distortions such as zeros appearing on the VGA BIOS screen during boot up, so I decided to switch out the graphics cards again, again this caused Vista to forget about my keyboard and mouse, I am however able to get onto Vista a combination of a cheap usb mouse I had laying around and the Vista on screen keyboard.

The fix I used previously (reinstalling of Intellipoint and Setpoint) has not works,I have also attempted to manually install the drivers through dev... Read more

Hi,only joined a week ago,not really into computers that much, but being a bit silly, got one second hand,it does work, but I have had a few problems, the windows update didn't work, but went onto Microsoft site and sorted that, there were a few other things that needed to be looked at,but the main thing that's come upis,i wanted to get windows live up&working because I use Gmail, and for some reson when I logged on it came up page not found most of the time, however the windows live will not or cant send or receive email,no matter what is done,so I got a scan done by Microsoft & it came back with a lot of things that are not up to date,or not set right, the list is fairly long.

So in my mind I wonder if the best way to resolve thease and any other unkown problems would be to look at having the old 7 completely removed & a new windows 7 installed,as I don't really know what,or whatnot has been done on this laptop.
Any help/thoughts/ideas would be welcome.Dont buy second hand already learnt!!!!!

Answer:Acer X1930 not working properly after factory rest...

Hello, I had the same issues when I went back to Win7 from 10... The only way i was able to get it to work right is for the first few log in I had to restart my system rather often. I know this isn't a FIX but was what I did.... Load Windows 7, Let it do the Updates for about  3 minutes.... First I tried 8 min but still to many Updates. So 3 works for me.... I am also connected over Wire on a Giga lan with Ultra Fast connection over my ISP... So times could vary for you.... After 3 min I had 20 to 26 updates ready to work. restart the computer. They worked. Did that about 3 times. ON the 4th time I let it down load 90 updates to see if it would work. And it did just fine. Then after that I went to look at missing updates to make sure they were going to update or had..... added some that were OPT.... about 50ish on the last and they all updated fine. But for some reason if I let them all try and update from the start they would fail. I think that is because they were trying to put in updates before other udpates that needed to be done first....  I don't work for Microsoft or Acer and this is only first hand from one of my systems. This isn't a Fix only my way of making it work.  So if you have a fast interent connection and not over WIRELESS I would say that for the first few times you start your computer just let it run for a few min and then go to start button, and restart so you are only doing a few at a time....  LEt me know how... I have a Qosmio X70-A-12N, newly bought last September, Windows 8.1, 64 bit.

After working properly (and great!) for half a year, the keyboard started to stutter.

If you type a paragraph or two, with let's say 250 words, every then and now, let's say every 10th or 20th word (undpredictable), a key-stroke yields no results. I tried a different keyboard via USB: no problems, so it has to do with the Qosmio in-built keyboard.

It does not depend on specific keys, and it does not depend on the pressure with which you press down the key.
Any key may turn out to be ignored every now and then.

All drivers have been updated to the most recent issues, BIOS is 1.50.

It seems that the problem is most prominent when working on battery (not sure).

Is this a software or a hardware problem? Does the keyboard need to be exchanged?

Answer:Qosmio X70-A - keyboard is not working properly

My first thought was BIOS update but according Toshiba download page you have latest BIOS version.
You know it is not easy to say what is wrong there. I cannot say for sure if there is some problem with the keyboard but maybe you should contact nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help.

They should know what must be done. at least, they have very good diagnostic tools and it is possible to detect the problem.

Hi folks. I just had to do a reinstall of my Window's 7 and since have had a problem with 2 keys on my keyboard. When I use the apostrophe key, nothing happens, but when I type something after, it appears. It's no big deal really, but I'm rather anal and it just bugs me when something isn't working right.

I have used search here at SF and gone through the tutorials, but can't find anything that quite matches. I tried to update driver's but the little box on the screen tells me driver's are up to date. I checked Device Manager and it doesn't indicate any problem. I checked Keyboard in Control Panel and it says the device is working properly.

If anyone has any suggestion's I would appreciate hearing them, if not I'll learn to live with it.

Thanks, David

Hi everyone. I know I have had this question posted here before and in the end I figured I would just get used to it. Wrong. It's pushing me past my usual point of insanity.

To refresh, a few weeks ago, I did a fresh install of W7 and since then 2 keys on my keyboard aren't working properly. One key, below the Esc button, I don't care about but the other is the apostrophe and quotations key. When I press this key, nothing happens until I hit the space bar, then it appears.

I have checked "Keyboard" in Control Panel, it says the keyboard is functioning properly. I tried updating driver and have the most up to date driver. I tried using the on screen keyboard and it has the same problem. I thought of doing another reinstall but that is no guarantee that the keys will be fixed and in fact may affect other keys for all I know.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, David

Turn your keyboard upside down and shake it. Dirt and crumbs get lodged in there.
I also use compressed air and blow dust out. You will be surprised at what comes out of it.

Hi there!
The other day I inserted a USB cable connecting my phone with my laptop Inspiron 7537 in attempt to charge it. The moment I plugged it in the laptop restarted. I immediately removed the cable. The laptop booted normally but I noticed that my right Shift key stopped working at all. Also the 7 number key on the numbers row below F1-12 buttons types as 9, not as 7, and when Num Lock is on behaves as Arrow Up key.
About the Shift key I tried switchin on/off Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, running Dell Diagnostics and nothing helps. The only sign that I have that is still working is the sound it makes after turning on the Filter Keys, but nothing else.
When reading all the forums there is no such problem, but most often both Shift keys not working.
What can I do?

Thanks.

I don't know for certain that Dragon is involved here -- I tried stopping the Dragon service, but nothing changed. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the Intellimouse and Intellitype drivers, no change.

I've run a complete scan of my system using F-Secure, no new infections, malware, riskware or anything.

I am BRAND new at this forum stuff, so please bear with me. Last week, I started getting a popup box talking about "filter keys". Since then, when I am on my desktop and go to click an icon, ALL icons are highlighted. I no longer have any of my number keys or special character keys - they are in permanent "capital lock" mode, even though the letters are not. For instance, I called Dell and tried to do a remote support thing, but if I try to type a "dot" (period), I get the "greater than" symbol.

When I was on the phone with Dell, we eventually decided to try a different USB port, and that solved the problem. For a few hours. THen the whole thing started all over. Rebooting doesn't help.

I have two Dell desktops - and identical keyboard/mouse (wireless units). They will both work on the other computer, neither will work on the one I really need to use. I also tried a logitech keyboard/mouse I had - that didn't work either.

This is very frustrating. I work from home on my computer - I am using my laptop to write to you now, but I can't access all the stuff I need to from my laptop.

Any help anyone can give me would be appreciated greatly.

Hi Rob!

Can you please tell us what notebook model you have?

Have you tested an external keyboard on the notebook?
I assume it?s something wrong with the internal keyboard and that must be replaced. You can get a new keyboard from an authorized service provider and they can exchange it for you.

Is that a solution for you?

Recently my keyboard and trackpad stopped working properly.  They DO work, but I must hold my x360 at a 45 degree angle to get them to turn on.  Everything functions perfectly when the laptop is at this angle, but the second I put the laptop down in a "normal" laptop position (keyboard horizontal/screen slightly angled) the keyboard and trackpad shut off.  This makes typing, shall we say, an undesireable task!  I am currently using a portable bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth mouse as a workaround. I have scoured the internet for a solution and have not had much luck.  I am unsure if this is an orientation sensor calibration problem or if it's a hardware issue.  The only post I've found that mentions a possible solution is this one which mentions an orientation sensor firmware update available only through support:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Windows-10-Screen-Auto-Rotation-... I have restored this laptop 3 times now hoping to reset whatever the issue might be, but to no avail. To be clear, this is NOT the rotation problem that is widely reported elsewhere.  Everything seems to be working OK as long as I hold the laptop at a strange angle.  Basically, if I try to use my laptop like this... _/ the keyboard and trackpad don't work.  When I move the laptop to something like this...\/ the keyboard lights up and the trackpad works "normally." OF COURSE, my... But when I use another key and then the '' it doesnt work. I really have no idea what the problem is, Ive checked all the software settings (keyboard regions, sticky keys, filter keys) but those settings are all fine. I also tried the tips like removing battery, hold power button to remove motherboard charge.I hope someone can help me with this problem! Thanks in advance.

when we messege keyboard doesnot work

Answer:Why isn't my messaging keyboard working properly?

Sorry... That is very vague. Could you join the site and reply in this thread with more detail?
Does the keyboard deploy (can you see it pop up)? Does it type and then disappear? Does it type and then stop? Does it not type at all? Is it type only with the problem? Does WordFlow (swipe) work or not?
What messaging? Is it the built in SMS or another App?
Do you have this keyboard problem on any other screens?
Try a Soft Reset. Hold the Volume Down + Power buttons until the phone vibrates and reboots (about 10 seconds). If that doesn't fix it get back to us with some more detail.

Answer:Y410 keyboard not working properly

Hi and welcome to the community,

There could be a few different reasons.  The keyboard cable might not be seated properly.  You might simply have a bad keyboard.

Or, it could be along the lines of something like this:

Hi! I'm desperate for some help. My new E540 keyboard is not working properly. When I type the cursor every few seconds jumps to a different location without my touching it or the touchpad or the pointer. Also, function keys are not working well, eg. pressing Fn plus F1 doesn't mute the speaker but brings on Chrome help. I tried looking for an E540 keyboard driver on Lenovo (my laptop came without an OS) but I couldn't find one. I also tried a search on Google but couldn't find anything useful. I don't know where else to look for help. I'm using Windows 7. This is my first Lenovo computer. Thank you in advance! Alenka

Answer:E540 Keyboard not working properly

I just want to add that I have installed Thinkvantage system update and have updated all drivers except for bios but it didn't resolve the issue.

This issue is identical to a post last year, "Keyboard only working in certain situations in games". Sorry to double post, that thread seems to be closed despite receiving no responses.

ISSUE: After image restore, laptop keyboard no longer works properly in games.

DETAIL ISSUE:
* Keyboard seems to be working fine in all 'standard computing tasks' and in fact when typing into developer consoles, chat bars, etcetera in several games. Typically it does not do anything at all, but I have noticed that sometimes it acts like a stuck key has been pressed; I press "W" to move forward and my character constantly runs forward.
* Keyboard mysteriously seems to work when I am holding the ctrl key. For example, in Portal 2, I can move around completely fine while crouched with CTRL. Spacebar also seems to be unaffected.
* Mouse works fine at all times.
* Keyboard worked fine until I wiped computer and reinstalled everything. Currently fully updated and otherwise perfectly working Vista SP2.

HAVE TRIED:
Validating/reinstalling game software (before I realized it was every game)
Running in windowed mode / fullscreen mode
Checking stickykeys settings
Reinstalling keyboard driver
Updating directx

---

Thanks for any input - even an indirect thought might lead me down the right path! Since I've checked Hardware > Driver > ActiveX > Software I'm not sure what other elements even come into play here.

Answer:Keyboard not working properly in games

Check the settings in the game or buy a game-controller/joystick instead as keyboards were never intended for game playing except for the very simplest of children's games.

Wondering if anyone can help with a strange keyboard problem I've been having for the last couple of days. Before this everything was working fine. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't work at all, sometimes some of the keys work, they're doesn't seem to be any constistency with regards to the keys that work and those that don't. It shifts between upper and lower case without having used CAPS or SHIFT. Sometimes if I press a key, it writes the same letter over and over (like it's got stuck) until I press the same key again, or press another key. Can anyone shed any light on this? Could it be a driver problem? Or a virus? Or a hardware issue. I'd really appreciate any help, as I've no idea how to go about resolving the issue. Thanks in advance. The laptop runs windows 7 ultimate 32 bits.

Answer:G550 keyboard not working properly

hi brujamala,

Welcome to Lenovo Communtiy Forums!

This seems to ba a hardware Issue.
Where the Keyboard might need cleaning or the Keyboard itself needs replacing.

If the system is still under warranty then I suggest calling Lenovo Technical Support
If not It would be best to call a Third Party Technician is cleaning it does not resolve the problem.

But if you want to be sure if this is a hardware or software...
try using an External Keyboard and see if the problem exit on an External USB Keyboard.

Answer:Some buttons in keyboard not working properly?

I had the exact same problem, try this.
Start>control panel>Regional and languages>languages. Click "details" in the text services & input services. Then check you are using the correct keyboard for where you live. Hope it works (it did for me).

Hello,

I am typing this message for a friend who is having issues with her Lenovo D570 Keyboard.

It was working fine this morning and actually very recently into the night. but at 9:52 PM EST, Her keyboard started to act very unusual.

For instance when ever she types a Key, when she pushes the "I" key, it also types out I O and P.
This problem apparently affecting a ton of her other keys as well.
If she tries typing anything the keys bring up the start menu, as well as other programs such as a menu that says
"Computer Only, Duplicate, Extend, Projector Only"

There was nothing spilt on the keyboard to make it sticky, and the keys are not stuck.
We're are very curious what could be causing this problem.
If you could help explain or give us steps to fix this problem it would be very appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Answer:Lenovo b570 Keyboard Not Working Properly

hi jenniby,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I believe it is the Lenovo B570 you're saying,
Try doing a power drain,
Remove AC adapter and Battery, then hold down the power button for at least 15 sec. this will drain off the power from the MOBO.

Reconnect everything and see if that works,
Also try using an external Keyboard to test out the Windows.

If that did not work I suggest Calling Lenovo Technical support for Hardware Concern.
