How do I go about finding out how many users have activated their OneDrive for business accounts?

Question: How do I go about finding out how many users have activated their OneDrive for business accounts?

Users have all been given access to OneDrive. At this point, I am trying to determine how many users out of all those given access, have actually activated their accounts? How do I determine this?

Preferred Solution: How do I go about finding out how many users have activated their OneDrive for business accounts?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I had both personal and business onedrive accounts on my computer. I no longer need the business account so I unlinked the pc and signed out. I can't get rid of the location in file explorer and I get a constant nag to log in to business onedrive. I no longer have access to the business account.

I have tried everything I could find online but it normally "fixes" the personal too so I have to reverse it. As you can see in the attached image the account in yellow is the one I wish to remove. It doesn't even sync anything at the moment.

Answer:How to remove onedrive for business but keep onedrive personal

If you installed OneDrive for Business from your O365 for Business portal, you will see two OneDrive entries in Start menu. In this case you might get lucky simply by uninstalling the OneDrive for Business:

Notice that this only applies if you have installed it from O365 portal as part of Office 2016 desktop suite. If you did not separately install Office suite but instead just added a workplace OneDrive account to existing OneDrive, your Start menu only has one entry for OneDrive; in that case do not uninstall it as it would also uninstall the personal OneDrive.

is there a way to just combine the two accounts into one single account, not two linked accounts. contacting microsoft support has been a nightmare and is quite frankly the worst tech support i have ever dealt with so any help would be greatly appreciated. It also take ridiculous amounts of time to sync onedrive for business and onenote 2013. Is there a way to remove onenote off of my surface pro 3 and just keep using onenote 2013. I have office365proplus from my university and am not able to upgrade to 2016 apps without a charge although it should be free to students. I spent 4 hours on the phone or online in chat with microsoft tech support over a span of two days and they never even got me to the right department, just kept dumping me to other departments.

Answer:How can i keep using onedrive 2013 for business with a tb of storage and not onedrive with less.

The issue really is that although they share similiar names, the back end for OneDrive for business is completely different (it's tied to sharepoint online and other services).
In regards to the OneNote 2013 how is that installed via the store or via .exe?
Regardless you should be able to use both, although you will run into issues if you try to use the same login concurrently.

I added one email account to OneDrive on my desktop PC then in my ignorance added the same account to my laptop. Realising later that I should have added a different email account on my laptop, I did so but now find that when I try to log in for either of the two I get the "You're syncing a different account" message so I can't login with either. That being the case, I can't Unlink one of the accounts, ie the duplicated one from my laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know what explorer is showing OneDrive instead of Chad in this case? You can see the first pic that shows OneDrive, but then when you select the folder in the explorer path, it shows the true path is D:\Users\Chad.
Is this a registry setting?

Hi all,
I was given a few hp pc's with product keys on them.

I have used 1 key to activate by phone 4 different pc's up to now using this 1 single code.

How many pc's can be activated with these or is there a way to find this out ??

Thanks

Answer:Windows 7 Pro Business - How many pc's can be activated - URGENT !!!

According to Microsoft :

"You can't use the same Windows product key to activate Windows 7 on more computers than the Microsoft Software License Terms allow. Usually, the license terms allow the product key to be used on only one computer."

"If you use your installation disc or a USB flash drive to install Windows 7 on a second computer, you'll need to buy an additional copy of the same edition of Windows 7 to obtain a new product key."

After booting this morning, I had an error window saying "We can't sycn your personal files anymore..". I eventually found that this message came from Onedrive For Business which somehow got installed first thing yesterday morning. I didn't install it, and it is suppose to be part of Office 365, which I also don't have (I have Office 2013). When I right click on it in the applications screen, there is an uninstall option which just takes me to the Uninstall or change a program screen, but Onedrive For Business is not listed, only Microsoft OneDrive (which I use) is there.

So how do I get rid of Onedrive for Business?

Update - I restored my system to several days before it showed up, and it install again right after the recovery. I'm also getting the error message upon rebooting.

I got OneDrive through my university as part of the Office 365 suite, which they give for free. I'm confused...

I tried to go into my OneDrive folder through file explorer in windows and delete a folder. It won't let me. It says I need permissions to delete it. Okay... what? Why?

So then I logged into it online through the Office 365 login, and deleted the same folder there, through my browser. Now when I check my OneDrive folder on both my laptop and my PC, that same folder is still there. Um, wut? Do I not understand how this software works? I thought that you treat it just like any ordinary folder on your computer. If you make a change, that change gets replicated everywhere else. If I delete a folder, it gets deleted everywhere else, too. Isn't that how it's supposed to work??

I'm trying to figure out a way to synchronize my research files between my laptop and PC... I'm starting to wonder if this isn't the right solution...

I have a Onedrive for business account which I have never used and has 1TB of space. I also have a free dropbox account which I have used for a long time. I only use about 6GB in Dropbox.

Is one more secure than the other? Would it behoove me to switch from Dropbox to Onedrive?

What are the pro's and cons of each?

Answer:Onedrive business vs Dropbox?

I know onedrive is actually integrated into a lot of MS software, so if you use that alot it may be simpler

Ok... so here is the problem.Got Office365 subscription few days ago.
As a part of the deal, beside Office365 (+offline) I got 1TB of space on OneDrive (or so I thought....).
As it turns out Office OneDrive (you log in with Office account [at]onmicrosoft.com and via portal.office.com) and personal OneDrive are two separate services.
However this has one big downside where it comes to WP - how do I access it?
I can add Office365 account in Office on phone - but it gives me ability to read/save only Office files to the cloud.
There is no OneDrive for Business client as far as I can se and so far I did not find an app that could run along ordinary OneDrive in my phone.
Did anyone faced this problem and found solution?
regards,
galtom

I am have two problems with 1DfB.

1. It won't let me choose a sync location on my other hard drive. Could it be becase that Hardrive is formatted to exFAT? The error I get says: Sorry, we can't save your documents to the chosen location. Try picking a differnt place on your computer. I hit ok, and it reverts back to C:\users\myusername

2. If I click sync from OneDrive for Business on the web, and just accept the default location (c:\users\myname, NTFS) it appearst to work. But the folder shows up with an 'X' on it in windows explorer. If I view sync problems, the error says We're having problems syncing this folder. Try the sync now button. But the sync now option is disabled so I can't.

OneDrive for personal is working fine. It is only my work account. I have this exact same setting working fine in windows 8.1.

Any ideas?

I am trying to sync OneDrive for business to a computer through an Office 365 account.  The same procedure works on the same computer from a different Office 365 account, and the bad Office 365 account failed on another computer.  When I try to sync OneDrive I get the following dialog: "We couldn't sync this library, but will try again later."

I tried clearing the cache from another procedure I found online but to no avail.  It seems to me that something in the account settings may be the culprit, but I can't figure out what.

Answer:Office 365 OneDrive for business won't sync

Sounds like the problem is specific to that one account, since it replicates on another computer. Make sure the username and password are correct, and that the URL for the library you are trying to sync is correct. Can you access that SharePoint library in a browser? Can you sync the library from a browser? Does the user have permissions to view that SharePoint site?
Also, if you go to the taskbar, does the OneDrive icon have a warning icon? Do you have the option to view sync problems when you right-click the icon? That will to to diagnose the problem and run some diagnostics.

Are there any OneDrive for Business users and administrators here? Could you share common problems you experience? We're looking at having this deployed into our VDI infrastructure.

Answer:OneDrive for Business -- common problems?

Only problems I've had thus far were when I had a system that had gone through a bunch of upgrades and stopped syncing. Had to delete the cache and re-sync, but other than that have had no issues. It integrates nicely with Office and Sharepoint, though I wish the sharing interface were better/didn't require the web.

Dear all,

I am attempting to set up Onedrive for Business for a non profit organisation.

The desired functionality is to have an 'admin' account and 6+ user accounts.

Is there any way to create a folder structure as admin (which has to be via the web-based interface) then share the folders across the user accounts?

On attempting to do this, the shared fold is never downloaded/synchronised to the computers with the Onedrive user accounts configured on.

Having searched the internet for answers I have found suggestions to use the 'classic' one drive web interface in order to specify that the folder be synchronised. On doing this I have no option to do so, merely to view the folder which then gives me a 'cannot be found' error message.

Look forward to any clarification of whether this is or isn't possible with Onedrive for business.

Thanks.

Answer:Onedrive for Business synch problems

First of all, all those users (admin + all standard users) of course need an individual Office 365 / Azure AD account. Assuming they are not using computers for private stuff and therefore personal standard OneDrive is not set up on computers, this is a simplified explanation about the process.

By default each O365 Business / Enterprise user has a folder called Shared with Everyone on their OneDrive for Business. Also by default this folder is already shared with everyone in the organisation:

Everything the admin user (or any other user) wants to share with everyone else within the organisation should be placed here. All users can access the shared content from left pane of the web UI and move content to any of their personal folders:

Each individual user needs then install Office software (Sign in to your account). This will also install the OneDrive client:

OneDrive icon is shown in notification area of the Taskbar, it can be grey (OneDrive not set up), white (personal OneDrive) or in this case blue (OneDrive for Business):

Now each user simply right clicks the OneDrive icon and selects Settings, then Choose folders to select which folders they want to sync to local computer:

The admin user of course selects the Shared with Everyone folder to be synced; everything he / she then saves in this folder will automatically be shared with everyone else, everything removed from this folder will no longer be shared:

In fact it's not complicate... Read more

I just finished installing windows 10 on top of windows 8.1. As the new system loaded, I was encouraged by the banner that read "Your files are just where you left them." However, when I open OneDrive, I get the message that there are no files to show. I can access Word, Excel files, etc. by opening those applications, so the files are in a sense where I left them, but if I need to find something in OneDrive, I have nothing to search or browse.

I know that this is a very low-grade question, but I would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance,

Now I get the Information, that my personal OneDrive Account is full.
When I go to preferences, I can see an offer, which would allow me to get 1 TB OneDrive when switching to Office 365.
I already have such Office abo. But I am not able to Switch to my Business Account.
When I go t o the Option: OneDrive-Upload preferences within the app, I come to the camera upload Options and there only my "email" account is visible there. And I have both accounts (private and Business) on same account.
Does anybody know, how I can swith from Standard OneDrive to Business?

As the title states, ODfB is repeatedly opening over, and over, and over, and I cannot get it to stop. When I attempt to right-click on it in either the notifications bar, or task manager, it always moves and closes the options window before I can select anything (it moves because it has opened another instance).

Microsoft support was useless. I'd like to avoid re-installing because it takes a long time to re-download and sync all of my documents.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Answer:OneDrive for Business Opening Multiple Instances of Itself

Solved!

Well, after a few hours of trying different things, including:Numerous re-boots
scouring MS support
"repairing" OneDrive via the Add or Remove Programs & Features menu
Uninstalling ODfB
Uninstalling ODfB AND Microsoft Office

I came across the following MS support page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3038627

I know Microsoft likes to change their support pages around every-so-often and break links, so here is an archived copy of the page just in case: How to remove the OneDrive for Business cache by using the "Fix it" tool

Anyway, this FixIt tool successfully stopped ODfB from opening repeatedly. IT WILL BREAL ALL SYNCED FOLDER LINKS, so be sure to have a back-up in place if necessary. Once it runs you can re-sync the folders, but you will have to download everything from the server. For some reason ODfB doesn't "merge" the client-side files with the server-side ones like Dropbox.

Hi guys

For a while now (I don't know when it started unfortunately), my OneDrive for Business folder is only synced one file at a time. Restarting the computer leads to a new file being uploaded, but nothing else does (I tried everything on the OneDrive help page).

I'm rather confused, as I've never encountered a similar problem in two years. Does anybody know what the problem might be?

Trying to help my sister. She has two Microsoft accounts on her phone, one Outlook.com and one Exchange. The phone is setup with Outlook.com as primary, so the phone automatically uploads the photos to Onedrive associated with that account. How can I change it to the other account without having to erase and reregister the phone? many thanks

Answer:Mulitple accounts, Onedrive

This page can probably help with this:Change a Microsoft account FAQ for Windows Phone | Windows Phone How-to (United States)
Notice one of the FAQs mentions apps or games that have already been purchased. Changing the association will cause issues with reinstalling those.
If by Exchange you mean a SharePoint-based business e-mail, there is an app for that which will allow your sister to see her personal and business e-mail separately rather than combining all in a single Inbox view. Moreover, if the Exchange account is a work-related account, I don't think that the Auto Upload will work with OneDrive for Business. With work-related e-mail accounts, it's important to consider all the ramifications of making that your primary phone account... (i.e., if the account is associated with an employer or school, her account may be disabled at some point in the future and everything associated with it is GONE).

A couple of years ago, I purchased a laptop with Win 8.1. At the time of installation, the laptop prompted me to create a microsoft account. Which I did, with my e-mail address. This worked fine, I could access a one drive etc.

This week, I purchased an Office 365 premium business. It created a new microsoft account, with the same e-mail address, and a different Onedrive.

When I log on to the laptop, the one drive I see in the start menu is from the "old" account.
If I log into the O365 account, I can see the new one drive.

I tried switching to a local account in Win8.1, then switching back to a microsoft account, but I just keep seeing the old account. Both account have the same e-mail address, so I'm wondering how I could switch from one to the other.

Maybe renaming the old account ????

Hi.
I currently have two computers syncing using OneDrive for Business. It's mostly been working fine, but for the past couple of weeks, both have always have 1 file syncing.
Possibly as a result of the constant syncing, I cannot run "Repair." When I do, the repair window says "Pausing sync - In Progress," and never progresses to the next step no matter how long I wait. Weirdly, if I pause syncing first, when the repair window opens, it _starts_ the syncing again, and remains stuck in the the same "Pausing sync" dialog.
I've tried every combination of pausing, "Sync Now," exiting, restarting, rebooting, and repairing I can think of with no luck. Neither computer has any OneDrive document open. Both have been rebooted repeatedly, and I've ensured Office/ODFB are up to date. Neither computer reports any sync errors. Both computers are using fully updated Office 2016 (thouh I think different editions). Ive searched MS support and the web in general, with no luck. I have not tried deleting and re-adding the library because Im not sure of the consequences, particularly with unsynced files on one or both sides.
Any suggestions on how to get out of this, repair my sync, or even find out what file it is stuck on? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
Best,
J

I am working with organizations who want to get programmatic access to the files of users in their OneDrive for Business account.
I have done this successfully for Google Drive and Box.com so I figure no problem right?
Wrong:
See stackoverflow's ms-graph-api-onedrive-resource-not-found
Currently Microsoft OneDrive doesn't support "app-only" access to files within your Business.
So the OneDrive admins cannot do things from APIs such as:
* List files and folders
* Download files
* Delete files
* Edit files
* Etc.
Which for some people is fine but for any large business that is a deal breaker. Is it planned to get this fixed so that they can keep up with the competition?

So I've been through the whole ordeal with Microsoft's "support" department, both through the Office 365 Admin Portal and the answers.microsoft.com team (who was, believe it or not, actually more competent).  Four months ago, first full week in January, my company's Office 365 OneDrive for Business system stopped syncing. 40 users, spread across a dozen states. Most employees are on Charter for Internet service but not all; I've determined it's NOT something like a Charter-specific issue.  On January 10, something changed where older documents would still sync but any documents modified on or after that date would not sync to any computer anymore, and changes made on the computer in Windows Explorer would not upload or sync.  (Changes made through Microsoft Office 2016 applications and saved using built-in Office methods still sync.)

We had been in the preview program for the Next Gen sync client since maybe November, so this was not a case of having the old Groove client made defunct and just failing to get on board with the new. We were already in the next gen program ahead of time.

Even to this day, OneDrive for Business libraries are out of sync, with all computers stuck on a status like "Downloading 153.9 KB of 402.5 MB at 0.0 KB/s, 1288 files remaining".  (Funny thing is I've moved on to another product for the time being and at present only have 1 Word and 1 Excel document in my OneDrive for Business folder at tenant-my.sharepoint.com!... Answer:How do I sync Onedrive between users?

In onedrive (both consumer and business) when you share a file with someone it won't show up on your desktop.
When using the office 365 portal site, go to onedrive and on the left side of the page look for "shared with me" This is the only way to see files that are shared with you.

Hello,

I am revamping my system as I migrate to Win 10

Microsoft encourages us to use our Microsoft account to sign in. I do have such an account because I have an Office 365 account

I have a desktop and two laptops (one is my wife's) on our home network and would prefer, to keep things simple, that we use the same Microsoft email address as a sign in for all 3 machines. Implied here is that the same password would have be used to access the machines and our Microsoft accounts and email. Does this make sense? Will I be lessening our security? My goal is to set things up so that my wife can go to any of the machines and find the same structures and logins

AS I understand things, my Office 365 accounts gives each machine access to their own 1 TB oneDrive account. I would like to keep our computers synched with each other. Due to pictures, ebooks, and music we have almost 1 TB of user data. If I can not reduce the data I would have to use more than one OnEDrive folder to hold it. With three machines and three OneDrive accounts is there a way I can keep all of the data synched?

Please bear with me - both of us are 74 yrs old and not too computer smart

Thanks for your help

Preston

Good evening. I'm looking for a type of software/website that would allow me to map certain streets so I know where I have been/going to. For example...Let's say I serve a certain street/house. I'd like to be able to make notes and input information on that particular house and then have that house "blacked out" or "crossed off" the list. I would also need this software/website able to be accessed online by multiple users. Does anything like this exist? Any questions, let me know. I'll be on all night. Thanks

Hello,

I really like the onedrive PC feature from Microsoft. It allows to upload my work files seamlessly. But I do not want other PC users (different user accounts on the same computer) to access that folder. I know they might not be able to view the files but I also don't want them to see the content inside the folder.

Can it be done with the same old 'folder permission' settings? If yes, could somebody please guide me how to do that?

Answer:How can I stop other PC users from seeing my onedrive fold

Hello Vivid, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If the other user accounts are standard users and not administrators, then they will not be able to even open your "C:\Users\(user-name)" folder to see your OneDrive folder in it.

If the other users are administrators, then nothing will be able to stop them from being able to access anything on the PC since they have administrator rights.

I have two Onedrive folders under my User files. One is uploaded to the cloud the other appears to do nothing. I started using 32 bit Windows 8.1 on the same machine then installed the 64 bit using the same microsoft username/email. Is it possible to determine which Onedrive folder is active and get rid of the other without losing any files both offline and online?

Tim

Answer:Two Onedrive folders under Users\Name Profile

I think x64 version of 8.1 is more trouble than it is worth. I have switched back to the x86 version and the user folder only has 1 Onedrive folder so I shall probably just use the 32 bit version from now on. Not only that my video capture and printer work on the 32 bit version!

My c:\Users\<Username> folder is showing TWO OneDrive folders.

firstly, how can two entries of exactly the same name exist in a single folder?

Now, how to handle this?

Though, I don't have to manually access any of these, as I have a separate folder at E:\MyData\OneDrive to which, I copy files and synchronize to cloud.

Still, which one to remove so that it doesn't mess up with my office/ onedrive/ backup/ sync process?

I checked and found that the top one of the two is having the links of all my E: files, and bottom one is empty (just desktop.ini) file.

Thanks.

Maybe this doesnt fall under networking, im not sure.

Im having a problem figuring out this...

I have two computers i plan to use for a business venture im embarking on, they are connected to each other, i.e i can see folders on P.C 1 from P.C 2 and visa versa, what i want to do is have my outlook express mail account which is existant on P.C 1 able to be managable from both pcs, so if one person deletes a mail from the inbox, or moves it to a "dealt with folder" after dealing with it on P.C 1, the altercation takes affect on P.C 2 someone elses sitting in front off.

Therefore preventing the same mail being answered or dealt with twice, they would need to be hooked up together live. Is this posssible i wonder?

If anybody could share any help and guidance or knows where i might ascertain help you would be doing me a big favour as its quite important in order for our system to work most efficiently spreading the work amongst two people, me being a bit of a Technophobe im not sure how it all works. Cheers

Hello,

I work for a small business who recently purchased and installed a dedicated circuit from AT&T to improve network speeds. Our Cisco 1921 router (AT&T dedicated circuit) only allows us an ethernet connection so we have a second router connected to broadcast a wifi signal throughout the office. With this expansion in our network, we will need a firewall to protect all sensitive information. We have spoken with a few companies and we have had no success with finding the right product. We are looking for a cost-effective firewall that can be connected to our Cisco 1921 router ( AT&T dedicated circuit) as well as connect to our wifi network as well.

Any suggestions or setup ideas? We would like to have a physical firewall and not a cloud-based application.
Thank you for any help!

Office 365 users seeing warnings that their OneDrive storage will be cut to 1TB on March 1

Back in late October of 2014, Microsoft made a bold promise. The company said that all Office 365 subscribers would have unlimited OneDrive storage bundled into their subscriptions. After rolling out unlimited storage to some users and expanded storage to others, the firm announced in November 2015 that it would be breaking that promise, citing users that "abused" their unlimited storage... by using it for unlimited storage.

Microsoft said that Office 365 customers would have at least a year before the changes took effect, and it's been almost 13 months. First spotted by one of Paul Thurrott's readers, customers are now seeing a warning that their storage will be slashed to 1TB beginning on March 1.

Indeed, we're seeing it in our accounts as well, and we've reached out to Microsoft to confirm that all Office 365 customers have the same date, but at the moment, it certainly seems like it.

Clearly, this is something that we all knew was coming down the pipeline eventually, but surely no one was looking forward to this day.

Back in May, we published an article detailing some helpful workarounds for storage limits, as well as other issues that you might be having with the service. For example, if you have Office 365 Home, you can give 1TB of OneDrive storage to each of five Microsoft accounts (including the primary account), and then you can link them a... Read more

Hello everyone, my name is jerry I want to first say I am happy to be new to this forum.
I have a urgent matter that I need help with. I am wanting to find out all the email accounts I have under all the companies like yahoo, Hotmail, msn, gmail, aol and others. I don't want them recovered or anything I just want to know all of the usernames and email addresses I have under my name and I will even give all the info anyone needs to help me find these out. the addresses, phone numbers, similiarites that I think they could  be close too. the only thing I wont give out is my ssn. I was going to pay someone to do this but the way I see it is I should be able to do this for free. if someone knows how to do this and would be willing to do it for me I would gladly appreciate it because all I am wanting done is to find all the old emails I have had and signed up under since I first started getting on a computer which was 1999 or 2000.
I hope someone can help.

Answer:finding all old email accounts

I doubt that anyone can do this for you.  Most e-mail providers have become very conscious of privacy issues and most won't even help you with an e-mail account you recognize as your own and can identify if you haven't set up the verification data they require to allow you to regain access.

It would be incredibly risky and stupid for any third party to impersonate you, even with your consent.

Most of these accounts have probably been scrubbed by now if they have remained completely inactive for an extended period of time.  If you have no memory of where you set up accounts and under what usernames is is going to be virtually impossible for anyone else to assist you.

Answer:finding old email accounts

Click here ---> on How to Recover Old Email Accounts.

Webmail providers i.e. Outlook/Hotmail etc, Yahoo, Gmail, mail.com etc will generally keep non-active accounts open for 3-4 months so for these accounts if you can come up with the ID you can get the password with the recover password link these Email Clients always provide on their login interface. Internet Provider emails are generally easy to deal with as long as you have your account number or possibly alternate search information they can use to get this information for you most of the time even if the account was closed for a long time. On the other hand, dealing with webmail providers can be difficult however to say the least if an account has been closed by the provider, the cases referenced in the information provided in the link posted above only applies to accounts that have not been closed by the provider, if the account has been closed due to inactivity in regards to webmail accounts then the account is available for use by anyone and it's very unlikely you'll be able to recover this information however you could try giving them a call but I'm not optimistic in these cases. Good luck, it won't be easy, contacting webmail providers can be time consuming, webmail providers are notoriously unresponsive and usually require a call-back (that generally never happens). To be honest in terms of the time-frame your talking about here (15+ years), getting this information will be unlikely in some... Read more

My current dial-up ISP is threatening to terminate my home Internet account because of "excessive use" and has suggested I move to a business account. But this business account will cost the same as a broadband account with ISP's such as BT, BT Yahoo, Freeserve and Tiscali who are currently offering "free" broadband modems and conection. The question is where's the hitch? Are these broadband providers any good? Alternatively do these companies offer a product which is inferior to other broadband companies who charge for modems / connection, or to a "business" dial-up account?

Dear Friends, Hope all is well.

I would like to find and install the most simple default email client. Windows Outlook/Outlook Express used to be included. It is my understanding it was stopped. Although I still have it and use it in Vista Home Basic.

If I right click on a desktop icon for example and desire to send that to someone., I get this line/message box. "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install and email program or, if one already installed, create and association in the Default Programs control panel"

Windows Live Mail appears to have a lot of things I'd never use and I don't know a thing about Thunderbird. I need to KEEP THIS as simple as possible Pleeze!

Any help deeply appreciated...

What I am wanting to know is has anyone ever heard of the software package and if so do you have any contact numbers or can you give me a bit of guidance on where to go next.

Hi janh666, and welcome to TSG.

A Google search found one company that offers software called "Artemis Accounts 2". If this is the software you are using, you could try contacting them for any available support options using the "Contact" link at the top of the page.

If you are using a different "Accounts 2" software, does it have any kind of Help / About menu selection that may shed some light on the name of the company that created the software and possible support information?

HI.
I've got an ASUS desktop model BM1AE, W7ProSP1-64bit. It comes with the ASUS Business Manager program installed. Basically this is just an interface for backups, restore, checking for BIOS and other updates, etc. Here's my problem: I set up one Administrative user and two Standard users. For some reason, every time I log into a standard user account, 4 UACs pop up, all related to this Business Manager software:
1. Tool to handle application key-ASUS
2. Power Management - background - ASUS
3. BackgroundWindow-ASUS
4. SecureDeleteBackground-ASUS

I contacted ASUS support, and the person told me to update the software, which I did, from the link he gave me, but, it made no difference. I have since contacted them again several times, and these support people are no help. They seem to think that I should either change the user accounts to Administrative, or change permissions somehow, but they don't know how.

I kind of like the possibility of just opening up this software to check for BIOS and other updates related exactly to my machine, rather than going hunting for it online, so I'd rather not uninstall it if there is a solution. But, changing the user accounts from standard to administrative is not an option.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Hi
I have two accounts on my laptop: Bryan as admin and James as my local account which I use for my daily workings.
All my work is save to a different partition on the hard drive.

I now notice that if I go to C:\users, I have my admin account but there are two other user accounts James and James.lenovo15.

Originally I found James and James-2 user accounts so I moved the James-2 folders and files to my work partition (just so I didn't lose the info before deleting it). When I signed in again, I could only sign in as a "guest" using the James-2 password.

I have now spent a coupe of days deleting the user account under the User Accounts setting. Then deleting the James account in the only place it appears (C:\Users); and creating a new Local User account in the user accounts (using Bryan admin). However, I find that in C drive I still have two James users - James and James.lenovo15.

I think that when I just deleted the James account in C:\Users it must have left some residual elements somewhere and it recreated itself and the new local account which I names simply James was forced to add to the name .Lenovo15 to prevent conflicts.

Although I doesn't affect the running of the computer, having both users takes up considerable space. James user 4.7 gbs while the new James.lenovo15 has 1.7 gb.

Has anyone any idea how to resolve the matter?

I have a long list of business contacts sorted by Accounts. Unfortunately, I clicked the Accounts column while in the Business Contacts view, and all those accounts disappeared from the column. Now all my contacts are ungrouped (over 3,000).

Each individual contact still retains its Linked Account designation, but those accounts are no longer organized via that filter.

Can anyone help with bringing back that category to my Business Contacts view?

I hope this explanation makes sense.

Thanks so much in advance.

Answer:Business Contacts - Accounts No Longer Showing in Accts. Column, Outlook 2007

Surely one of your 3000 contacts is a little computer savvy and can help you?

3000 contacts eh? Dang, I gotta about six, no wonder I'm broke about six months out of 12.

But I do know which end of the pineapple not to sit on

Is there a way to get a list from the server of all of the users that are currently archiving and the locations of the archive files?

Thanks in advance.

Obvously I am not an Exchange Admin. If you guys need more info go ahead and ask and I can try to answer as best I can.

Answer:Help finding all archiving exchange users

wtf do you mean archiving? do you mean subscribing to threads? perhaps you should PM a moderator or admin? have you tried writing to [email protected] (i think that's the email)

and, just out of curiousity, why do you want it?

I have been looking for a way to monitor my network and see if there are any users who are bypassing my firewall and using a proxy server. I have been pretty unsuccessful with finding anything and it may just be because I do not know what exactly what a program like that would be called. Any help would be awesome guys. Thanks!

As a tablet user of advancing years and failing eyes, finding those sockeys on the edge of a tablet with a black surround is a problem- is it for you?
Tis is what I did.
Plugged in that phones/USB/charher and with a dab of Tippex[I still had some from umty years ago]
dabbed some around the socket egde and in the case of the USB/HTMI on to thev top face.
Now Ican see the.
Alternative to Tippex coloured adhesive tape or alittle strip of foil grued into place may also serve

Answer:a tip for tablet users--finding those sockets

Don't think i would stick bits of foils anywhere near ports in case something shorted out..

As you may know that Microsoft is making its own "Surface" tablet as well as its own smartphone. And it seems their intention is to make everything like notebooks, desktops, ultrabooks themselves, just like Apple does and this has already created tension between MS and the OEMs. May be MS completely adopts the Apple model and stop licensing Windows 8 to OEMs and end users. I am very worried about this prospect! I am primarily a desktop user as well as I use a HP laptop. I like to build my own PC as it is cheaper and I have all the freedom to choose the hardware for it. But if what I mentioned above really happens I won't be able to do that! Its easy to say that I could simply buy the desktop made by Microsoft. But that would be very expensive as far as I think. And if MS started to build everything, I would not be able to buy Windows 8 as well as hardware to assemble my PC as the hardware manufacturers would stop making it for the general market. Also I won't be able to buy a cheaper alternative from any OEMs. Do you think that all can happen? And if that happens, what would be the possible alternatives for the end users like me? What are your views. Kindly inform.

Answer:End users & OEMs and Microsoft following Apple's business model!

We have to establish resistance.....

With AMD dropping the High End market, price of Hard Drive, death of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II project, and now Windows 8; it's a very bad time for PC builders like US. I like to build high end Water Cooled PCs, but to justified 2, 3 or even 4 High End GPU in a PC , you need to use it for gaming and the way I see it; more and more games companies will drop the PC to turn to consoles, that's the real problem, for peoples who like to build PC. You can't count on games companies to code their product for Linux, it will be too much work for them, they will simply make consoles versions.

I have a few cases where a company employee already has their own paid subscription to Office 365 Personal on their laptops but they need to have the copy of Office 365 Small Business Premium that is linked to their company email account in order to have access to all the same features and access to the same Business One drive folders.
I am not sure how to best handle this. In cases where I can, I advise them to uninstall their personal and then install the Business version. In cases where they do not want to do this, I have had a few try loading Business 365 on top of Personal 365 and occasionally run into trouble that way.
Since it is a subscription product, with the costs paid for by the company, I would think uninstalling the personal and cancelling future charges to their credit card would be appropriate but I have not been able to confirm even with MS if there is a "for Sure" best thing to do.
If anyone has any advice for this situation I would love to have it.

Answer:Configure users with Office 365 Business and Personal on same system

As long as they are both 2016, it should work fine.

Hi, I recently upgraded from an R51 (excellent machine) to an X61 running Vista Business.  I bought the floor model from Microcenter at a tremendously discounted price.  Here is my problem:  they sold me the computer right off the floor and when I got home, I discovered that under the "users" file, the administrator rights are assigned to "micro center" and there is a standard user named "Public."  I would like to rename both files with names of my choosing without having to reload the entire system.  So far, I am coming up empty and hope maybe someone here can offer some guidance.  I know this is a Microsoft issue, but trying to get help there made me want to put my head in an oven.  Microcenter offered to "look into it" if I dropped the computer off for an unknown amount of time, which I found unacceptable.  The path to users is:  "sw_preload/users" where two sub files are located, "micro center" and "Public."   Right clicking either one reveals there is no rename option.  My additional concern is that if I do manage to rename these files, will all my programs still run or should I worry that they may freeze or not run if they can't find "micro center" or "Public." Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Duke

Answer:How to change admin users name on x61 running vista business

To manipulate user accounts and directories you have to use the User Accounts control panel. I would create a new Administrator account for yourself and delete the Micro Center accounts (be sure to remove any of your own data which you might have put in the Micro Center user directories first).
