Lenovo Y50-70 WiFi issue

Question: Lenovo Y50-70 WiFi issue

Hey everyone, Recently, my Lenovo Y50-70 started acting up. All of a sudden, i could not connect to a WiFi network. Whenver i check devicemanager, i see this "other devices -> networkcontroller" which has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. So i figured... this must be the problem. Now whenever i check properties on this device, i get alot of stuff that i dont even know what it means. But the path directory to this device should be (it says this in the properties) ..\Driver\ACPI. I dont really know what to do now... should i just delete this device and reinstall? because i could not find any ACPI drivers for my device. If anyone could help me out, that'd be great. Since i can not stay connected to this ethernet cable for ever.I will respond to any messages, so if anyone tries to help me, we can find whats up. Thanks,Yves

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello! I just bought a Lenovo B580 59-339463 (i5 3210m Ivy Bridge)  laptop, installed Win7, installed all drivers on the dvd (including the 3 wlan drivers - intel/realte/broadcom - not sure this was a smart move) only to find that I am unable to connect usign the wifi. I've been browsing round the web for the past 2 hours, but nothing seemed to help.WiFi is turned on (in BIOS, in device manager, in adaptor settings in fn+f5) The WiFi connections just don't show up in the list of network connections When diagnosing the WiFI connection I receive a message informing me that the "Wireless adapter is experieincing problems" and then this message: "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter. Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter." Intel ProSet/WiFi tools -> Diagnostics -> Hardware Test FAILED. The wireless adapter is disabled or uninstalled                                                                         Software Test PASSED Since i'm rather new at all this, never having owned a laptop before, I've completely ran out of ideas. So I turn to you, maybe you know what to make of all this. Thanks!

Answer:Lenovo B580 WiFi issue / Wireless connections not showing up, WIFI turned ON

Hi

Welcome To Lenovo Community

You may please try

Enter BIOS by tapping F2 Load setup defaults
Download and install the latest wireless driver from the Lenovo Support site
Ensure the wifi switch is ON prior to installing the drivers.
Download and install the Lenovo power manager and hotkey drivers - these are integral to allowing the
FN+F5 hotkey to enable the wifi card
Uninstall Lenovo ReadyConn' software if it is pre-loaded

Right click my computer > manage > device management > network adapters > find your wireless
Adapter > double click > on power management tab, make sure "Allow the computer to turn off this
     Device   to save power" unchecked

I am having trouble with wifi connectivity on Lenovo G50-80 with Windows 7. I tried connecting to the wifi for the first time but if fails to search for any wifi connections. When I tried troubleshooting it says that Wifi Adapter is turned off and I should switch it on my pressing key. I could not find any key, I tried F7 key and Fn+F7 key but it doesn't work. Later I put the laptop of sleep mode. When I logged again, the wifi adapter was able to search for nearby wifi networks and able to connect with them. But when I restarted the laptop, I faced same issue again. Ever time I have to first put the laptop on sleep mode and then wake up to connect to wifi network. What seems to be the issue??

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70 WiFi issue

It sounds like the driver needed by Windows to communicate with your WiFi adapter has become corrupted, so you need to go to Lenovo support site here, select the correct Windows operating system for your system, use the "Pick a Component" pulldown to select "Networking: Wirelesss LAN" and download the driver and install the latest driver.     I am not sure which one of the two drivers listed you need, but just try installing both of them, since only one will work, and the other will just fail to install. If all else fails,Right click on the network controller under "other devices",Select Uninstall,Check the box to "Delete the driver software for this device: (if offered), and then press OK.Reboot if prompted to do so, but if no reboot is required, just right click on any device in Device Manager and select "scan for hardware changes".    Windows will then scan for the card, and attempt to install the driver. Good Luck,

Yes, I've read all the other posts. This is what happened: I opened my computer one day and the wireless LAN does not detect any networks, even if there is a wireless network. I tried using the Windows Troubleshooter, cannot fix the problem. So I did a system restore, it fixed it. I opened it again today and the same issue happened. System Restore did nothing. Fn+F5 brings up the Lenovo Wireless Device Settings, but no Wireless is seen, only Bluetooth.  I've tried reinstalling Power Management, same thing. I've looked at the BIOS, Wireless Networking is on. When I try to reinstall the Wireless Lan Driver, the message No Matched Device Driver appears. I have attached a picture of what appears in the Device Manager:  I am running W7 Professional 64-bit.

Answer:Lenovo U460 WiFi issue

Hi cjquines,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

The WIFI Device is not detected physically.

Try opening BIOS
Turn ON the computer and start pressing F2
     Computer should enter BIOS
Under configuration.. look for WLAN settings and make sure that it is Enabled.

Press F10 to save and exit and your device should be back.

If this setting is Already Enabled and still in device manager you can't find the Wireless, You might need to check the Actual WLAN card, maybe reseat it.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

I have recently bought a Lenovo C340, and have encountered a slight problem with wifi.  My ISP is BT and I have a dual band BT Homehub 4 which uses 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequencies.  The preferred frequency for my set up should be 5ghz, but the Lenovo only detects and connects to the 2.4ghz frequency.  My tablet can connect to both frequencies and so it seems to be an issue with the Lenovo rather than with the Homehub.  The only advice given by BT is to give each frequency a different SSID, which I have done, but the Lenovo still doesn't detect the 5ghz signal.   Would anyone know if there is simple way of overcoming this issue, or should I just content myself with the 2.4ghz connection. Any help appreciated.

I did a check of all the possible WIFI card your system may come with,

All Three Wifi card are signle band and can work up to 2.4 GHZ only. So i believe 5ghz won't work with the system.

So may try changing the power plan to high performance when in battery mode. Of course this will cause a faster drain in your battery.

Hello. There is something wrong with my WiFi, everytime I try to use my internet connection to ie. load YouTube movie or any page it takes ages to do so. I have to HLSW installed, it has function to show latency on your connection, whenever I don't do anything it stays around 15-20ms, but strange thing happens if I try to do anything at all that requires internet connection, even loading simple page takes it up to 1500-2000ms. Oh, and there are more CPUs in home network and they are working fine, so it's not internet provider issue. I wasn't like that from beginning, it started couple of days ago, tried reinstalling drivers couple times, tried looking for solution here, couldn't find any, do any of you have any idea what should I do to fix it?

I have been unable to connect to my NAS, a Synology DS216+II.  I've been working with ATT (Router), Synology (NAS), and Microsoft to try and figure out why I can't connect to my NAS while connected to my routers 2.4GHz radio, but can connect through the routers 5.0 GHz radio.  The problem is associated with only one computer a Lenovo T460.  My other computers a Lenovo T520 and a Lenovo T430 will connect to the NAS on either radio, as will my iPhone or ipad.  What I have discovered if I reset the Router (a ARRIS 5268AC - ATT Uverse) I can connect to the NAS via the 2.4GHz radio, if I switch to the 5.0GHz radio the connect works, but if I revert back to the 2.4 GHz radio again I can't reconnect to the NAS? Any ideas?JSR

Apologies if this has been addressed before but my problem is pretty specific and I couldn't find any threads about it.  For a quick backgound, my OS is Windows 10 (was Windows 8 prior) and my network adapter is an Intel Centrino N-2230.  I have a Lenovo Y500 laptop and my internet has been having issues. For background, it was working fine until sometime early this year. I got an ethernet cable and mainly relied on that. Whenever I would unplug my ethernet cord, most of the time my internet wouldn't work - the open networks availble shown would just be empty even though all my other devices connected to the internet just fine. I ignored this and continued because I mainly only used it with ethernet anyways, and if I really needed to I could disable and reenable my network adapter to get the internet working (for like 30 seconds before it would often die again).  I'm back home from college now however, and I need a consistent internet. The problem I face now is that when my laptop isn't plugged in, I can't seem to use internet at all (I can do the disable and re-enable technique but it works for like 5 seconds before it stops working again). When my laptop is plugged in, it stays connected to the internet consistently, but the quality of the connection is really inconsistent. For games that I play, every 10 minutes I usually have around 3-4 instances where the ping goes from 20 to like 1000 for 10-15 seconds, sometimes even completely disconectin... Read more

I have a Lenovo 3000 v200 laptop running Windows XP SP3 (recently downgraded). It is fully updated with all Windows Updates and Lenovo Updates and no changes tohardware has been done. I experience two annoying problems. I have searched the forum thoroughly for answers(many other users seem to suffer from similar problems) but no solution has beenpresented. 1. My wireless connection works 95% of the time without problems. But occationally the wireless fails to initiate when I boot up the PC.Nothing I do will bring the WiFi into operation, only a reboot will solvethe problem. I have tried toying around with the options availablethrough the WiFi software without success. No networks are visibleeven though both the hardware and software WiFi switches are "on".The Device Manager does not indicate anything wrong with the unit.I have seen this message a few times: "The wireless stack failed to initiate".Anyone with a solution for this (excluding reboot, that is) ? 2. Standby does not work. When resuming after a standby some processseem to lock up most of the system resources. One of the processor coresworks at 100% load and the other one is idle. Looking into the Task ManagerI can see several processes competing for the top position in CPU usage.I do not get a clear picture of what process is the problem but I think it is securityrelated. It seems to be a driver problem rather than the result of my software(Firewall, Antivirus...). I assume this since the very same soft... Read more

Hmmm another one... Quite frustrating problem (i have the same problem).Every time i close the lid and the computer goes into standby the wireless network fails when i open the lid. It even fails when i dont close the lid. I have been searching on this problem and it seams like it's related to software and the Intel 5100 AGN wireless card.  No solution yet and Lenovo doesn't seem to care.

If I touch certain areas such as the back of the screen it drops. Is this a known issue with lenovo laptops in addition to this I experience small amounts of jitter when watching 1080p videos on youtube. I can't ignore these small things and before I return this laptop was wondering if there is a fix or if anyone else has had these problems ? Thanks.

Answer:Lenovo Z510 Weak WIFI Signal & LAG Issue

Dropping WiFi when touching the back of the screen is not normal. It might be that the antenna was torn during the assembly of your laptop and that can explain the sudden loss in signal when you touch the back of the laptop. The jitter issue can be caused by unoptimized display driver or the video is poorly encoded (if certain videos show this jitter). It can also be a refresh rate issue where the display cannot produce smooth frames at 30 fps or 24 fps though this can be fixed with good video codecs. Update to the latest Flash player and latest Intel drivers and see if the jitter issue lessens.

Dear Lenovo, It's a request to kindly understand the matter as I had a total frustrating updation procedure from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Home For the updating process I would blame Microsoft and I informed them about the same but than I would like to know that why the Qualcomm A956x Wireless Network does not work with Windows 10,I tried everything possible from downloading the 64 bit drivers and even followed the instructions from Microsoft but nothing of sort has proved to be beneficial as I had to roll back to Windows 8.1 just after 1 day I upgraded to Windows 10 laptop was purchased this year and its not fair that I can't use Windows 10 as the adpater isn't functioning! My PC became quite useless as Lan, Wlan and Ethernet all were missing from the computer but immediately after restoring back to Windows 8.1 everything works perfect

Answer:WiFi Driver Issue with Lenovo G40 70 after upgrading to Windows 10

I have the same issue with my G50-70 i3-4030U. It has a Intel AC-3160 wifi and Realtek wired LAN.It leaves only the option of going back to Windows 8.1I cannot believe that these issues are there for a 1 month old machine.Lenovo says it is verified for this setup, but it looks like it the list is just a lot of made up stuff.

Hey guys, I'd just like to address an issue with my Lenovo Ideapad U350. I had it since Nov 2009, and one major problem I have with it is connecting to WiFi.  The laptop can connect to WiFi only if the WiFi source is super close (like 1 to 12 inches away only). Even if its half a meter away from the WiFI source, it has problems connecting to it. Any solution/s to this?  P.S. I have another laptop and other WiFi-enabled devices which can connect to the WiFi source even at long distances. (Like 10 meters and farther, or even across rooms)...Why do these devices connect to the WiFi seamlessly (even at such long distances) while my Lenovo Ideapad U350 has problems connecting to WiFi even at (somewhat) short distances?  HELP! Please...

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad U350 WiFi Connection Issue

I'm having the same issue thinking about taking it to a repair shop bc everything I tried hasn't worked open to any suggestions

Hi all Thought I would share this after hours of internet searching what my issue could be and finding nothing except "Is your Wifi Enabled?" type responses.  So here is a succcint problem/solution that may work for you too. Problem A couple of week ago, my wifi connection started to be very slow at home and would not connect to public wifi hotspots, such as O2 Cloud.  I did the usual updating drivers etc with no success.  I eventually noticed that the signal bars on the discovered networks were weak and at public hotspots, extremely weak.  Made me think about the wifi antennae inside the laptop... Solution (only proceed if you dont mind your warranty possibly being invalidated, are competant and are fed up with your wifi not working) 1) Turn off laptop. 2) Remove Battery 3) Take the middle panel off the back of the laptop (three small screws out and slide panel forward) 4) The wifi card is the small card near the memory cards.  It SHOULD have two aerials attached via tiny circular connectors.  Mine were both loose. 5) Remove each aerial (remembering which colour cable goes to which connector) and carefully reattach securely.  They just click on.  Make sure cables are not pulling on the connectors or they may pop off again. 6) I then put a piece of electricians tape over the connectors to hold in place and to protect from the cover. 7) Replace cover, battery and hopefully this sorts... I recently re-installed XP on an S10e but could not get the WLAN to work. I installed every driver on the lenovo website for the broadcom S series drivers but no success. And then tried again 2 weeks later I then re-formatted and installed Windows Vista but again same issues. SolutionGo to the device manager and select the Details tabMy VEN number was 8086 and DeV number 4327 I then went to http://www.pcidatabase.comentered the details and found that device was an Intel (R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN (according to the chip id)(use the browser find function with the device id number-saves a lot of time going through the list) followed the link to http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng and found the matching device id Wireless Technology >> Intel Centrino WIFI Products >>Intel WIFI Link 5300 and Intel WIFI Link 5100 installed the driver for my operating system and now everything is working 100% It seems that the device id in the BIOS is incorrect or that it really is an Intel and not broadcom chip. I hope this helps the many people that are having the same issue as I had and ends the endless traul on getting the WIFI working again. Good luck and let me know if it work for you

I have decided to upgrade my laptop's Wi-Fi modem to the newer one. So, I have checked the hardware maintenance manual for my laptop for the needed equipment and found out that the best option would be "WLAN card, 802.11a/g/n && 802.16e, Intel 6250NX MOW M PCIE NB HMC" (FRU number: 20002321). So, I have purchased this WLAN card and after the hardware installation BIOS started to display "104-unsupported network device detected" error. Even though I have upgraded BIOS to the latest available version. It would be great to have some explanation about the hardware compatibility. Otherwise it seems that I have just wasted my money on incompatible hardware.

Hey guys,

I just got the Lenovo Y500 a few months ago and it came with the Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230.

The WiFi on this laptop kept on disconnecting after a while of use, at first I thought it was the laptop's problem but after I got a replacement because of a depixel on my screen the problem still occurs - the WiFi is unstable sometimes and the connection just disappears. I tried this with other Wifi connections at my University and home and friend's house but it still kept on disconnecting after a while.

Can anyone please give me a solution to this problem? I've already downloaded and installed the latest drivers.

Symptoms of this problem:
1. Disconnects after a while, it shows network available but I cannot connect to them
2. Sometimes, it doesn't show any network (i.e all my WiFi connections are not visible)
3. I cannot restart my WiFi because I go into Windows 8 "Change pc settings" and it says I cannot turn off my WiFi

This problem is really bugging me because every time this happens I have to restart my laptop!

I would really appreciate your help!

Here's some screens of the problem:

There are many possibilities to your problem. To jumpstart, examine the settings of your wifi card (based on recommended setup) and the router's settings. They should match.

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on my Lenovo ThinkPad Twist with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230.I have installed the latest available driver v.15.5.6.48 from Intel. I have also downloaded and installed v.15.5.6 of the Intel My WiFI Dashboard (however it shows v.15.5.0 in "about").My problem is that most, if not all of the options for "My WiFi Dashboard" are not present. See the following image for what is available. My specific interest is to use WiFi Direct to transfer files to/from a Samsung Galaxy S II. I have already proven that WiFi Direct works on the Samsung GS2 device.  I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance,Rich

I experience the following problem with a new one week old Lenovo X220 built with Intel Advanced-N 6205: After 3-5 hours it disconnects from a wifi router and would not be able to connect to it until I reboot the router. It happened the first time on Friday, I was connected to our Verizon FIOS router and after 5 hours I lost connection and won't be able to connect for 2 hours trying every possible thing until I rebooted  the router, what I didn't have to do with countless number of other laptops/cell phones. Now X220 loses wifi connection every 3 hours and won't be able to connect until the router is restarted. All other devices in a house work perfectly fine, my roommates probably already hate me for rebooting the router. Router: Actiontec M1424WR (Verizon FIOS) Other devices which were and still are able maintain connections with this router for many hours w/o similar problem:- my old Dell Latitude E6400- my Samsung Captivate cell phoneand bunch of other HP laptops, macbooks etc. What I tried and what did not help:- rebooting X220- turning X20 off/on- installing the latest drivers for Intel 6205 card for the Intel website- installing/uninstalling Intel Wifi tools and Access Connections- restoring from a backup (not a complete factory setting restore)- setting DNS/IPs manually for IPv4 and turning off IPv6 I tried to collect some logging with netsh tracing and it only tells that the driver disconnects during acquisition. Some clue I dis... Answer:Wifi issue with X220 (intel wifi card); It stops connecting to a router after 3 hours

When it is reproducible in Win 7, went to Ubuntu Live CD and everything works there. So the problem is either inside:- router- Win 7 Intel 6205 drivers including shipped and the latest one  I don't think it is that low level though as I thought, as in Win 7 it tries to reconnect each time disconnecting during "Identifying Network" stage, and setting IP, gateway and DNS manually do not help.  UPDATE: I was able to update Verizon FIOS router to the latest firmware and switched it from WEP to WPA just in case.

I upgraded my friends HP laptop to Windows 10. The issue now is I can't enable Wifi. The card is recognized correctly in Device manager and no issues is found with it. It looks like it is fine. However in the Network Settings WLAN is set to "Off" and when I try to turn it on it always jumps right back to off. eg. I can't enable it.

HP is now help as they clearly state any laptop bought prior to specific date in 2013 will not get any driver updates from their side for windows 10. (Guys, never buy HP again please...). And updating through device manager only tells me it's the newest driver available.

The Wifi card i Broadcom 4313GN card. I searched for win 10 drivers but did not find anything. They only offer linux drivers on their homepage...

So can anyone either provide a solution to the issue or link to a win 1' driver for this wifi card?

I have issues connecting my Laptop to the Wifi router in my house, however, there are no issues connecting to other routers? You would therefore assume that the issue lies with the router at my house. However, every other device and laptop connects to the router at my house with no issues at all. So it seems to be specific to the combination of my laptop and the router at my house. I have been having these issues ever since I downloaded Windows 10. I fixed it initially by downloading an old driver for the Wifi on my laptop. This fix lasted for about 3 months but since the latest windows update, the issue has come back. The issue is intermittent wifi where it shows I am connected to the Wifi but then the internet doesn't work. It says "DNS probe cannot be found" when running troubleshooter and then it resets the wifi on my laptop. This can temporalily fix it, sometimes for 2 seconds. Sometimes for 2 hours. But then the issue comes back. Does anyone have any clue what the issue might be or how I might fix it? Sometimes, when I run the troubleshooter, it says that I have missing protocols. But then this doesn't happen every time. I have tried a variety of fixes that I have read up on in forums but none seem to work permantly. One thing I haven't tried is a clean install of windows 10 which is something I am very reluctant to do and also, have my doubts as to whether it would actually resolve the issue.
Many thanks,
Joe

Answer:Wifi issue specific to my laptop and home wifi

It all depends on location, location, location. Some Gateways are just garbage. If you are not getting a strong enough signal, get an Access Point. Also you need to make sure that you are not on a congested channel, which is usually Channels 6 & 11 for 2.4 Ghz units.

Despite that fact websites load VERY LONG (if they finally do), and the only way to work normally is to open the lid. The same problem is on Win Seven either WinXP. Is there a possibility to cope with it? And the second: Do you have also so crappy sliders on the bottom of your laptops? Cause mine doesn't grip laptop properly. When there are is a surface made of wood (lacquered) at the angle of approx. 2-4 degrees my laptop is crawling down.... My firends sitting nearby are laughing Nothing like this happens to them, and they also have Lenovo notebooks - e. g. Y580, Z series or so.

I have a brand new E520 that will not connect to most websites while using the built in wireless adapter (or any wireless adapter). It only connects to google.com websties.  This is true for iexplorer, firefox, and chrome.  Also, I can ping www.google.com when I use the command line, but if I ping anything else, the request just times out.  If I plug in directly to the router with an ethernet cable, I can access any website with no problem.  Yet, when I am plugged in via ethernet, I still cannot ping other websites (despite being able to access the same ones using a browser). I've tried:-turning off windows firewall-uninstalling norton antivirus (and installing avast)-Installing, and then uninstalling the ThinkVantage wireless managment software (forget the exact name).-using a seperate USB WIFI adapter (with all other network adapters disabled) Still can't get it to work.  Any suggestions?

Answer:wifi website blocking issue/ firewall issue?

I have also installed all of the windows updates and tried re-installing the wifi adapter driver.

Ok here's the problem, I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre M91p desktop which I was preparing to sell, first thing I wanted to do was to erase contents of hard drive first by using Derik's Drive Nuker disc however the problem started when the PC starts it doesn't show the "Lenovo" logo splash screen with the F-12 option to access BIOS, I needed to access bios so I can reboot with the dban disc to erase the hard drive when that option was not available I opened up "msconfig" and made the mistake of changing the system configuration from "Normal start up" to " Selective Startup" with only the " Use original boot configuration" option checked because I thought that would show me the splash screen on start up but, that wasn't the case.  After I did that and restarted the PC everything was horrible, not only wasn't I able to see the splash screen but, also Windows wouldn't even load.  On start up the PC doesn't show the Lenovo logo splash window, it goes straight to windows but it only shows the pre-screen that pops up before the log-in screen, the one with the background image and the time on the lower left but, that's it....if I click on that window instead of showing me the log-in window where I'm supposed to enter my password it only shows a blue screen.  Now I can't access BIOS to fix anything nor get into Windows.  I need help please! Any suggestions will be helpfu... Read more

Answer:Lenovo Thinkcentre M91p issue| won't show Lenovo splash nor load Windows either

Does Lenovo test the drivers they release any more? I just updated the touchpad driver today and the two finger scrolling is locked to the same setting whether you pick Traditional or Standard in the setting menu. Latest Intel Graphics Driver Lenovo released causes Youtube video to freeze in Chrome and they still haven't released an update even though Intel already did. My X1 Carbon 3rd gen has screen flicker/freeze issue after waking up from sleep. I submitted a ticket a week ago and hear absolutely nothing. According to other member, even replacing motherboard doesn't fix it. I am really started to regret my purchase.

Answer:Lenovo X240 Screen glitch (hardware issue, not software issue)

The panel is failing. I believe the column drivers' contact tape has delaminated. It is a tape with one contact per LCD column (768) that runs along the edge of the screen

So I just bought a new Yoga 13 ultrabook and the thing is amazingly versatile.  I also decided to pick up the Lenovo sleeve in order to add a layer of protection. It appears as if the tablet has been accumulating an "uncleanable" spot on the cover where the four rubber feet would normally come into contact with it when folded into a tablet mode.  These four spots on the cover are not coming off with light cleaners and I even tried some Simple Green...no luck.  They are exactly located in the spots where the feet touch the cover and leave a noticeable mark.  I don't know if this issue is due to the sleeve since I have only ever used the ultrabook with the sleeve. I called tech support and they haven't a clue and so I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue?  Perhaps I should return the sleeve and exchange the ultrabook for another to start fresh. Thanks for any help or insight.

Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing.

Hey guys,

I am having two issues with my laptop.

1.  When my laptop is running on battery (no matter which power option I choose) the screen will go black or flicker if I stop moving my mouse.  The moment I move it goes back to being fine but if I let go it flickers.

2.  When I put my computer to sleep and then turn it back on later, the wireless card just stops working.  I get a red x on the wifi icon in my toolbar and it will not show any networks, even if I  Disable/Re-enable the wireless card.

I have already deleted the graphic card drivers and wireless drivers and reinstalled. My laptop is has a dedicated graphic card but it also uses the onboard graphic card.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Answer:DIsplay issue and Wifi issue

Make and model of the computer ?

You say 'mouse'. Do you mean a USB or wireless mouse or are you referring to the track pad ?

I noticed on a couple of Notebooks I worked on had success in first turning Off Airplane Mode before turning Wi-Fi On would stick. Don't know that is normal but it worked on those. Also important is that most Notebooks have a switch or an Fn plus another Fx key [or maybe just an Fx key] to use hardware to turn the Wi-Fi on or off.

Hello, i am a proud owner of a Lenovo G50-70 running on windows 8.1. i recently had an issue with my wifi not being able to turn on and i thought the drivers had an issue and so i downloaded the wifi drivers from lenovo website for my Quallcom Atheros adapter. They got installed well and upon rebooting my Pc the wifi icon had dissapeared and when i checked on adapter settings on the network sharing centre there were none either. The device manager showed the adapter having a yellow exclamation mark with code 10 error(device not starting up).I attempted to reisntall and it said device has upto date drivers. i attempted to reboot with the drivers unistalled and still same response.I would appreciate any help to resolve this.

Hello, since about 10-12 days, my laptop's wifi has suddenly stopped working. It would show a red X sign at the Wifi icon and would OCCASIONALLY detect my Wifi (even though my other laptop detects others) and would connect to it. However, once it does connect, it would have 0 bars and would be very slow it would barely load the Google home page and other websites don't even load. In a matter of 1 to 2 minutes, the Wifi signal would disappear again and the red X will return for hours.  I have tried turning the Wifi off and then on, turning airplane mode off and on, turning off the Wifi from Network Connections and then on, forgetting the connection, going into BIOS mode and turning off the wifi and then turning it back on, checked my modem's settings if my laptop has been blocked from Wifi or whatever, and I've also did a diagnosis via Network Connections. The result would say: "Problems with wireless adapter or access point - Not fixed". However, if I run a troubleshoot from the settings section itself, it would also show "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken - Detected". I don't use ethernet, just Wifi, so I don't think that's an issue here.  There's another thing, which I doubt is a cause, but worth mentioning anyways. The right side of my laptop's bottom case is broken, due to a screw not being properly placed (the factory of the place I bought it assured me it's no big deal) but by time it kept slowly opening. I didn't ... Read more

Hello my name is Daniel.

Last week i got my new laptop - Lenovo Y50-70,
This is the first time i try lenovo laptops, and i am so disappointment Beacuse lot of reasons.
The major problem is the Internet, When I do a speedtest with my old laptop (10 years laptop) i get 40 Mbps.
When i try the same thing on my new lenovo laptop i got 4 Mbps.
I tried this test lot of times and always i got the same results.

I wasn't suprise to find on the web that I am not the only one with this problem,
I tried what suggests in the internet, but it wont help.

Thinks that i try:
1. I talked with your technical support, and you said to me that i need to check it with microsoft
2. I tried to install couple of wifi drivers include the most update one.
3. I Added the ScanWhenAssociated value in the registry.
4. I turend off every schedule update of Microsoft (even Xbox)
5. I changed the settings of the drivers as you mentioned in (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/lenovo-y50-70-internet-connection-very-bad/td-p...
HT Mode = HT Mode Only    Preferred Band = Prefer 2.4Ghz Band    Roaming Aggressiveness = Medium    U-APSD support = Disabled    Ad Hoc Channel 802.11b/g = 9    Wireless Mode = 802.11b/g
6. I changed the wifi connection in power management to be maximal.

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70 - WiFi problem

You won't get double digit speeds on 11g barely if right beside it and your ISP is that good. You'd need an 11n WiFi connection. If you are not seeing an 11n connection to your router be certain you've not restricted yourself on the notebook. In my case it show my speed as 300Mbps not 450 which the router is capable of. The NIC must not have the ability. None the less its a fast connect to the router. After that its up to the ISP speed when checking.

Hi,Ever since i got my laptop the WiFi has been terrible, ive had to tether me phone to get online. The connmection is slow when conected by WiFi, but most of the time it either doesnt connect, or says "Limited Connectivity" on the connection status.  From reading online i think this is quite a common issue. Does anyone have a solution?

Answer:Lenovo Y50 WiFi Realtek

The troubleshooting depends on your situation. So it is just aguide.1. Try. resetting your router and rebooting the unit later.2. Try reading on possible reconfiguration of the wifi card. You may to read about each parameter. If the above does not help one option that you can take is to use a usb wifi dongle. These are cheap ones

Hello, I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y500 laptop running on Windows 8 with bluetooth enabled (I don't know if that helps). However, I seem to have this WiFi problem. On many occasions, my wireless signal says that it has limited connectivity (somewhere along those lines). Sometimes, it even disconnects. And then when it reconnects again, it works for awhile, but then it goes on to saying limited connectivity again. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Do I have do anything with the router that the laptop is being connected to? Because all I did when I first got the laptop was connect to the router and that was it. I don't know if I have to do anything specific or not. Thanks.

Dear all, I have read about many issues regarding Wifi connection (connection drops often without any reason, poor signal strength, too long time to establich connection...). My problem could sound similar, but it's rather different:Although my wireless connection appears like Enabled in Win8, I cannot switch it on / connect. It appears like Not Connected (Wifi = Off). In fact,  I cannot see any wifi network when the list of available networks used to be.- I checked BIOS, and it's set as Enabled.- I updated BIOS to the last version.- I updated wireless wireless drivers to the last version- I modified the wireless configuration as it's especified in the long forum thread for Wifi issuesBut nothing has been successfull. For some strange reason, I cannot switch the wifi device on.My laptop was bought in December 1012. It's a model from USA. Is some else suffering from the same problem? Many thanks in advance!

I checked in bios it says it is enabled, but in windows it doesn't let me use it. Its been driving me nuts for a week now and I don't know what to do. Am using windows 7. Thank you for any replay.

Answer:Lenovo z50-70 Wifi not working

Hi GaBI13,You can switch on - off the wireless by pressing (airplane mode) F7 or Fn-F7. If this doesn't help you check that wireless device is present in Device Manager, is enabled and working properly (no arrows or yellow triangle present on device). If everything OK go to Control Panel-Network and Internet-Network Connections, identify the Wireless Network Connection. If this is Disabled, double click to enable it, right click and choose Connect. The driver for WiFi you can find here in case that you need.Hope this will help you.

Hi,  The new Lenovo Vantage is insisting on me to use the "Lenovo WiFi Security". Even sending notifications about it. But it doesn't specify about anything it does: "Lenovo WiFi Security helps protect you from connecting to malicious WiFi networks. Enable this feature to reduce the risk of having your computer and your data exposed to attackers. Lenovo WiFi Security requires access to location information to run optimally. Additional privacy policy information can be viewed here. To get the most out of Lenovo WiFi Security, we recommend enabling the Lenovo Vantage Toolbar in the  Power Settings  section of Hardware Settings." The link only provides information about privacy, so... What is this "feature" supposed to do and how exactly?  Cheers.

The second issue is the WiFi. My internet connection runs at 30 mbps download and I'm only getting about 4 mbps on my laptop. My phone (GS4) gets about 12 mbps right beside my laptop and my old laptop used to get 20 mbps in the same spot. Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70 fan and WiFi problems

hi vexexil,

Welcome to the Forums.

The  clicking (or grinding) sound that you're hearing on the fan is likely a sign of an imminent hardware failure. Have you already contacted lenovo and report your findings?

 - Support phone list

As for the slow Wi-FI speed, do you have the Intel Wireless-AC 3160 adapter?

Things that you can try:
1. Set the power plan to High Performance and uncheck the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power setting

2. If the access point is a 802.11n only, open the wireless card properties > Advanced Tab and set the settings in accordance to this microsoft thread.

3. If you're using WPA2-AES encryption, try to set it to WPA2-Personal/WPA2-AES (mixed) and observe.

4. Temporarily disable the bluetooth under Device Manager > Bluetooth.

5. If you're far away from the router (beyond 10meters), can you try to move closer (within 5meters) and do a speedtest and observe.

Regards

Hello! I just bought a Levono gaming Laptop. I'm now like 15h more trying to solve this and I simply can't found the answer. My problem is: the WiFi connection is perfect when 2 meters far from the router. But from my badroom, which is 10 meters maximum in a clean straight line without walls, it not work. It can reach the router and open a single internet page in like, 1 minute, if it open. But I just need to come close to the router to it work perfectly. We have more 4 laptops in the house and 4 smartphones. All of them work even outside of the house, double or even triple the distance of my room. But this laptop not. This is my configs:Lenovo Y50-70NVIDIA GeForce 960mi7-4720HQ8GB Ram Win 10Realtek RTL8188EU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network AdapterIt happen with or without the power cabe on. I already tried in the Advanced tab on Realtek driver:Every combination changing the Brandwidth (20MHz only and 20-40MHz), the Wireless Mode (IEEE 802.11b - 802.11b/g - 802.11b/g/n), the WiFi Config (Performance - WiFi). Also the Power Management, which it's not checked the box to turn off to save power. I already have installed the latest Intel PROSet, for Win10 (Wireless_18.40.0_PROSet64_Win10)The Power Options is setted everything to the same as if it's plugged. Also tried the "ScanWhenAssociated". I really don't know anymore what to do. Please, someone can help me? Thanks!

I bought a new Lenovo S41-70 about a month ago. Since I first got it, the computer has had some troubles with its wifi connection.  Initially the wifi works well, but if I hibernate the computer, it is unable to reconnect to any wifi network that I've already used. The network still shows up on my list of availble connections, but it shows no signal strength and the computer refuses to connect to the network. (Other devices will work fine on the network, so the problem is in the computer and not the network.) This happens for three different networks that I commonly use. So far, I've been solving the problem by resetting the comptuer. After a reset, the wifi networks appear normally and work fine. This solution has been frustrating because I don't want to have to reset my computer constantly. I've checked that my drivers are up to date. Any other suggestions?
