I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I waited for 2 days after the update stuck at 32%, but after that no progress. I again soft reset the phone and started from the beginning, this time reaching 49%. Tried multiple times reaching max at 69%. Battery is draining so fast during the download ... Please advice a way to finish it. How to get rid of the preview build and get the phone in previous condition..everything is very slow after the enrollment..

I recently update to Windows 10 on my Lumia 1520 via the Windows Insider app. While typing I can't use the word flow feature. Is it available for Windows 10 Preview? If yes, how do I activate it?

Answer:How do I activate word flow feature in Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview?

First you need to download the language files for your language and install them. Then go to settings and time & language and then to keyboard and tap on your desired language, suggestions should be enabled here to 'flick through' to work. Word flow is actually the last option as flick through. Hope that helps!

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are excited to release Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16232 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring! We are also releasing Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 15228 to Insiders in the Fast ring. Earlier this week, we announced new end-to-end security features coming with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and this build for PC includes some of those new security features.

A note about app updates
In order to provide Windows customers with the highest quality inbox apps possible, we will pause testing new versions of our inbox apps with Windows Insiders. This means that Insiders will not receive app updates from the Windows Store for our inbox apps that are newer than the apps included in the build. Insiders may notice that some features we were testing in our inbox apps ? including recent updates to the Photos app ? will temporarily disappear. This is because some of our inbox apps won?t have all the latest new features without getting an update from the Store. It is critical that Insiders are experiencing the same version of Windows that will be released as the default version for all Windows users. Insiders will once again start receiving app updates in the very near future. As always, your feedback will help us tremendously to define the overall Windows experience and insure the quality of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is excellent for our customers.

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16288 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring only (not Skip Ahead). As we mentioned previously, we are now at the point of the development cycle for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update where our focus is now on stabilization for release to the world. This means that we are releasing new builds to Insiders more quickly and that these builds will include mostly bug fixes. You?ll notice that this build continues to include a bunch of good bug fixes Insiders will enjoy.

On Build 16288, you will notice that the watermark at the lower right-hand corner of the desktop has disappeared. You will also see that the OS now reports as ?Version 1709? which is the official version number for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update release. However, this is NOT the final build as we?re not done yet. We?re just now beginning the phase of checking in final code to prepare for the final release. So we will have more builds to release to Windows Insiders between now and then. And the desktop watermark may re-appear in these builds.

We are also releasing Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 15250 to Insiders in the Fast ring.

Windows lets you link your phone and PC
You may remember at Build we talked about PCs and phones working better together. With Build 16251, we are introducing the first set of features that enable ?linking? your phone to your PC. This build?s scenario is focused on cross-device web-browsing. Today, we?re asking for you Windows Insiders to help us test this experience out using your Android phones. Support for iPhone is coming very soon, stay tuned.

To get started, after installing today?s new build on your PC, go to Settings > Phone and link your phone. Having you link your phone ensures that your sessions from your phone are continued only on to the PC that you?ve chosen. After adding your phone to be linked, you will receive an SMS from us directing you to install a test application called ?Microsoft Apps? for Android that completes the link between your phone and PC and enables one of our first cross device browsing scenarios.

After you?ve linked your phone, just go to your phone and start browsing the web. When y... Read more

Eye Control (beta)
Yesterday, we announced Eye Control, which makes Windows 10 more accessible by empowering people with disabilities to operate an on-screen mouse, keyboard, and text-to-speech experience using only their eyes. The experience requires a compatible eye tracker, like the Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, which unlocks access to the Windows operating system to be able to do the tasks one could previously accomplish with a physical mouse and keyboard. We are starting by supporting the EN-US keyboard layout, and we are looking to expand to more keyboard layouts in the future. We are excited to release this experience as a beta and would love your feedback!

Setting up Eye Control:
Own or purchase a Tobii Eye Tracker 4C (Coming next will be support for Tobii Dynavox PCEye Mini, PCEyePlus, EyeMobile Plus, and I-series.)
Download and update to Tobii?s Core eye tracking hot fix release 2.10.11.6458 and run calibration with your own profile
Check for Windows Updates; the new Tobii Eye Tracker HIDClass Driver should be found on Windows Update and installed automatically.
Make sure your Tobii ... Read more

Cortana Improvements

Cortana, Your Personal DJ: In addition to playing songs via your local files and OneDrive, you also now have the ability to play any song from the entire Groove Music Catalog using Cortana. If you have a Groove Music Pass, just ask Cortana to play your favorite artist, genre, playlist or song. This also works with Cortana on your Lock screen.

Hi Guys!
Only a few days ago a Windows Insider Build had been pushed outside the walls of Redmond. This build is marked as 10525 and does not include that many features. As to say in fact that Windows 10 for Xbox One is coming really soon so prepare your selves for the update! If that anybody on the forum has an Xbox One then the update will apply to them. But for now enjoy the update as I think there will be another one very soon, plus that watermark has returned!

Answer:Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10525.

Despite this build doesn't include many new features, (actually the only additions are the improved memory manager and colored window title bars), it feels very rock solid, good for daily use.

Interesting build, it's got the most new features of any build to date in the Creators Update path and probably close to feature complete. The big thing that most around here will probably be the new options to delay updater and turn off driver updates. But only fa the Pro, Education and Enterprise versions do I'm sure that will receive a lot of complaints. However if one is on the Pro version, these options should take care of the majority of the complaints I've noticed. No turning off updates permanently, but a 35 day delay provides a good amount of time to address bad updates and get fixes out before the next 35 days.

As for the other big issue beyond updating, I've not seen anything on telemetry changes. Insider Builds don't allow any of that to be changed so there'd be little to see there if it did but no mention in the release notes anyway. The biggest thing I like, the Start Menu finally has the foldering system that Windows Phone 8.1 had years ago. I know there are the tile haters but you can put an LOT of tiles in a compact space now and they expand out when the group is clicked. No way to nest the folders though.

So nothing here that would probably change too many minds about 10 though the updating changes for Pro and above will probably make some happier.

I've created a 2nd Windows 10 Pro build from a Macrium image to receive Insider Preview Builds on a separate HD to my main operating system.

My Windows 10 Pro on SSD didn't use to require me to sign in as I've unchecked to 'tick box' below:

My 2nd HD has successfully upgraded to build 10532 but now when the PC boots up whether on SSD (Windows 10 Pro) or HD (Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview build 10532) it prompts me to say that the user name or password is incorrect, then asks for a password against 1 of 2 users.

Any ideas why this is happening as I've unchecked to opt out of accessing with a password.

We have a new build for PCs releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring ? Build 10130. As I mentioned with the last build, from here onward you are going to see a lot of tuning, tweaking, stabilizing, and polishing which means fewer big feature changes from build to build. You?ll see that in this build which has a number of small improvements and more polish. For example ? you will see some new icons (check out File Explorer) as well as many subtle changes to the UX. We heard a lot feedback around icons in Windows 10 and think these new ones are a bit more refined. Let us know what you think. We?ve also added new Taskbar animations for actions like moving files, downloads, etc. and more improvements to Start. And we also heard a lot of feedback around the border around Action Center ? which is now gone in this build and looks much nicer.

We are still doing a lot of work so of course you should expect to see some bugs as well, but we?re making good progress working through bugs as we progress towards our public release this summer.

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are excited to release Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16226 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring!

What?s New in Build 16226 For PC

New features in Microsoft Edge
Giving you more control over closing tabs: Building on our work in Build 16199, we?ve updated Microsoft Edge to ensure the X in the tab band is always available to close a tab, even when a JavaScript (i.e. alert, prompt, etc.) dialog is showing within Microsoft Edge. Additionally, closing the Edge window always remains an available option. You can also access many browser capabilities (i.e. favorites bar, settings, etc.) while a dialog is showing.

Making it easier to move from another browser: Users can now migrate Cookies and Settings from Chrome to Microsoft Edge, which will make it easier for users to make the move to Microsoft Edge as their primary browser.

More EPUB improvements in Microsoft Edge
Copy and Ask Cortana: Now, when you select your text, you can Copy and Ask Cortana in addition to adding notes, highlighting and underlining. Cortana can help you do a little research while you?re reading an EPUB book!

Ink Notes: Got ink? Add a note and write or draw on it with your pen.

To see your note, just hover over the note button?no need to open it.

Books roamed across devices: Your books from the Windows Store are available on your Windows 10 devices, and your reading progress, bookmarks, and notes are kept in sync.

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16273 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring and Skip Ahead.

Flighting Update for PC
We have some updates for Windows Insiders on how we?ll be releasing new builds going forward for the next couple of months.

As explained when we introduced Skip Ahead, we have ?forked? the release into its own branch we call ?RS3_RELEASE?. Many Windows Insiders will recall we did the same thing for the Windows 10 Creators Update when we started flighting builds from the ?RS2_RELEASE? branch. Insiders in the Fast ring have been getting new builds from this branch over the last few weeks now. We are now at the point of the development cycle for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update where our focus is now on stabilization for release to the world. This means that we intend to release these builds to Insiders more quickly to both the Fast and Slow rings as these builds we include mostly bug fixes.

For Insiders who joined Skip Ahead, we will continue to release builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch but they won?t be released at the same pace as builds from RS3_RELEASE. Since we are just now beginning development for RS4, Insiders will soon notice a jump in build numbers just like we did early in RS3. Also because we are just beginning development for RS4, Insiders shouldn?t expect to see a lot of big changes or new features just yet. Our engineering teams remain focused on getting the Windows ... Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16278 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring only (not Skip Ahead). As we mentioned in last week, we are now at the point of the development cycle for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update where our focus is now on stabilization for release to the world. This means that we intend to release new builds to Insiders more quickly and that these builds will include mostly bug fixes. You?ll notice that this build continues to include a bunch of good bug fixes Insiders will enjoy.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC
We fixed an issue where upgrading to recent flights would fail if you had a speech for a secondary language installed.
We fixed an issue where printing from 32-bit apps running on 64-bit versions of the OS was broken when using v3 print drivers on recent builds.
The ability to take HDR screenshots on your PC via the Xbox app has been removed starting with this build. We plan to re-introduce this feature again in the future.
We fixed an issue resulting in drag and drop onto websites intermittently not working in Microsoft Edge.
We fixed an issue where Microsoft Edge would crash after choosing to pin certain websites to Start.
We fixed an issue where a tab in Microsoft Edge could get in a state where it displayed a tab preview thumbnail even though your mouse wasn?t hovering over the tab.

I have created this topic for the discussion of build 10122.

Who has upgraded to build 10122 and what are your opinions of this build? Pros or cons.

Bruce.

Answer:Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10122 Discussion

Ah we've all been waiting for another build and well its here! And yes I'm going to review this here and now so let's review it.

It's OK looks great and polished I don't mind it at all since Microsoft is finishing bits and pieces off it's shiny new OS. The start menu looks great, and the theme looks great! Microsoft also has stabilized the OS a lot since 10074 as it even fixed the annoying issue with the Nvidia Drivers. Actually a lot of you would recommend this as a stable Build or not any other way it's great.

 List of fixed issues:
1. Visual Glitch (Rectangle Silvers)

2. Fixed lots of glitches with Microsoft

3. Developers – when you go to Settings > Update & Security > For developers – it no longer crashes the Settings app.

4. We fixed the issue some people were seeing where their graphics driver fails to install from Windows Update with error code 80070103. This was happening because WU was trying to re-issue the driver.

5.You should now be able to edit the IPv4 properties of an Ethernet adapter on your PC.

6.We have fixed issues where fonts would render blurry on High DPI displays. We’re cooking up a blog post we plan to publish shortly that talks a little more in depth about our investment with High DPI in Windows 10 so watch for it.

7.We have fixed some keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Edge. Control + L or Alt + D shortcuts now got to the URL bar more reliably.

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today, we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17025 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring and for those who opted in to Skip Ahead.

REMINDER: Going forward, we plan to release new builds for RS4 from the RS_PRERELEASE branch to Insiders in the Fast ring and those who opted in to Skip Ahead at the same time.

What?s new in Build 17025
Revamped Ease of Access Settings: This build adds new Ease of Access settings to make your device easier to use and fit your needs. We also grouped related settings together which help you see, hear or interact with your computer to assist in discovering settings more quickly. Additionally, we heard your feedback and improved setting descriptions to help you more easily understand the available accessibility features. Go to the Ease of Access section in Settings to see what?s available to make your computer easier to use!

Controlling your Startup tasks: Continuing our work from the previous flight, with today?s flight we?ve updated the Advanced options under Settings > Apps & Features so that UWP apps that are configured to run at startup will now have a new option to see all available tasks specified by the app developer and their status will now have a new option to see all available tasks specified by the app developer and their status.

Today, we are releasing Build 14267 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

Just to quickly recap the changes we?ve made to rings for Insiders in 2016:
We introduced the new Release Preview ring last week which is for Windows Insiders who want to stay on the Current Branch (currently builds based off of Build 10586), but continue to receive early access to updates, application updates, and driver updates. This is a great option for people who want to get updates early but not go all the way to installing full preview builds. Because the Release Preview ring offers updates to the Current Branch, it is only visible to devices on the Current Branch (Build 10586). If you are on a newer build, flights to the Release Preview ring won?t be applicable to that device. The easiest way to go between the Development Branch to the Current Branch is to use the Media Creation Tool to reinstall Windows 10.
We?ve adjusted the criteria we use to release new builds to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring to get builds out more quickly ? this means these builds may include more bugs and other issues that could be slightly more painful to live with. So if you?d like to change your ring to stick to more stable builds you can go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options and under ?Get Insider Preview builds? moving the slider to the Slow ring.

What?s new in Build 17046

Microsoft Edge Improvements
Form Fill for Address fields: Microsoft Edge can now save and automatically fill your preferred information in addresses and related forms. When filling in fields on a form, such as an address or other contact information, Microsoft Edge will prompt to save your form information. In the future, you can simply select the preferred information from a drop-down menu to complete all the related fields.

Addresses you save will be roamed between your Windows 10 devices, and you can manually add or remove form entries in Advanced Settings.

NOTE: The block for AMD PCs is no longer in effect as of this flight.

What?s new in Build 17040

Settings Improvements
Adjust the brightness of SDR content on your HDR display: Starting with Build 17040, Windows now lets you adjust how bright SDR content appears when running in HDR mode on the desktop. On an HDR capable system, you will see a slider in the ?HDR and advanced color settings? page under Settings > System > Display. Hi everyone,
It has been amazing to see the impact that Windows Insiders have made since we launched the program last year. Your feedback has helped us fix bugs and make changes which resulted in a better product because of your input. Thank you to all of the Windows Insiders who have been with us so far. Now I?d like to talk a bit about what is next.

With the general availability of Windows 10, the Windows Insider Program will focus on building and delivering Windows as a service by updating Windows 10 with new features and functionality on an ongoing basis. As always, Windows Insiders will be the first to see these new features and changes.

Feedback from Windows Insiders not only helps us build Windows 10 ? it also helps us shape how we run the program. For example, Windows Insiders have asked us to improve the flighting cadence and to keep the Windows Feedback app in the product ? which we have done. We?re also evaluating the Windows Insider rings, and considering whether we should make changes there. Over the past few months we?ve been looking at feedback to see what changes we want to make going forward. We?re putting plans together now, so you won?t see any changes immediately, but they will come over time. We?ll be doing our best to make sure that we improve every aspect of the program, from build distribution to the Feedback app and Insider Hub. And of course we?ll be looking to do more fun things for Windows Insider... Read more

Hi everyone, we have a new build for PCs we?re releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring ? Build 10166. Just like the 3 builds we released last week, this build is all about bug fixing and fit-and-finish. Be sure to keep using the Windows Feedback app to send us feedback on any problems you?re hitting to help us make sure Windows 10 is awesome when we release it on July 29th!

We also have something for you to try out if you live in the Seattle area. With Windows 10, we are giving people the ability to purchase paid Wi-Fi through the Windows Store via the Microsoft Wi-Fi app. You will know when you can purchase Wi-Fi when you see ?Buy Wi-Fi from Windows Store? in your list of networks when clicking on the network icon on the lower right in the Taskbar. The Microsoft Wi-Fi app provides the choice to pay with a Credit or Debit Card, a Microsoft Gift Card, or PayPal and it helps keep your information secure since it uses the Windows Store payment system. Completing the purchase is simple as there is no need to enter additional personal or payment information if you?ve already registered in Windows Store. Right now, we?re testing this experience out in Seattle but it?ll soon open up to the rest of the U.S.

Hi everyone,

We?re rolling out Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10549 right now to Windows Insiders on the Fast ring. However, this build comes with a caveat. We discovered a bug late last night that caused phones upgrading from Build 10536 to get stuck at a black screen after this new build is installed. Rather than making you wait a little bit longer for us to fix this bug ? we decided to release this build as a single update from Windows Phone 8.1. Current Insiders that would like to try out Build 10549 should:
Go back to Windows 8.1 first using the Windows Device Recovery Tool.
Once you?re on Windows Phone 8.1, install the Windows Insider app, choose the Fast ring, and reboot your phone.
After that ? this build should download and install on your phone.

This build doesn?t have significant new features but does include a bunch of good fixes and general performance improvements.

Today, we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17074 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring and for those who opted in to Skip Ahead. Please note that the same block for AMD processors as explained here is also in place for this flight.

What?s new in Build 17074

Reimagined Windows Internationalization
We have redesigned localization of Windows in this release. Now you can find your desired language (Local Experience Pack ? or ?Language Pack?) through the Microsoft Store and Region & Language section of the Settings app. The Settings app provides improved discoverability of features supported for each language.

We have also started utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and neural network-based Machine Learning (ML) for Windows localization. Having the Local Experience Packs in the Microsoft Store allows us to take advantage of ML improvements and user feedback via Language Community App to release better translations more frequently. This will consistently improve the experience of our international customers with Windows.

Hub improvements: We?ve revamped the Hub view in Microsoft Edge to show more content and to be easier and more intuitive to use. Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10586 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This build is really focused on bug fixes and general improvements. We?ve been loving this build in our internal rings as it is very fast and smooth, and makes a great daily driver.

Here are some things we have fixed:

The issue where any audio playing (like music from Groove, or videos from the Movies & TV app) gets reduced by 75% for a period of time after a notification pops up from Action Center is fixed.
Pressing the power button on your Surface Pro 3 should put your Surface Pro 3 to sleep instead of shutting it down.
We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.
Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN ? it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.
We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.
Small form-factor devices, like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, that boot with rotation or virtual mode screen size set larger than the physical screen size should no longer experience a bluescreen on upgrade.
Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.

The latest Windows 10 Insider Preview, build 14367, is now making its way to PCs and phones on the Fast ring. PC users have a couple of new features to look forward to when installing it, and those wishing to perform a clean installation of the OS can now do so more easily, with a "new tool to give your PC a fresh start".

But of course, a new build doesn't just mean new features; as ever, it also means that there are lots of fixes to look forward to, and known issues to be aware of.

What's been fixed and improved in build 14367 for PCs

Cross-device notifications from your phone to your PC via Cortana are now more reliable and faster. You can also use quick replies from your PC for notifications that support that feature (there is a known issue in which this will only work if your phone?s screen is turned on ? we?ll be fixing this!). Additionally, notifications from your phone to your PC will appear under its own Windows Phone group in Action Center ? with a fancy new logo to boot!
We fixed an issue where the emoji in cross-device notifications would appear as boxes. We also fixed an issue where certain emoji would appear as square boxes in some apps like Notepad.
Fixed an issue resulting in the dialog when joining the PC to an Azure AD potentially being unexpectedly large on certain devices
Quick Actions in Action Center that turn on and off different functionality in your device, like Bluetooth on your phone or Tablet Mode on your PC, now have ... Read more

Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14955 for PCs and phones in the Fast ring. Some users reported issues with installing the Mobile build, but Microsoft later published a workaround for those problems.

Recent builds from the Development Branch, like 14955, have been referred to by the codename 'Redstone 2' - but last week, Microsoft announced that RS2 builds will eventually roll out to all users as the Windows 10 Creators Update. In addition to revealing a range of features - including improvements to the communications experience, and new additions for gamers - Microsoft also said that it would release a new Creators Update build by the end of the week... but it never materialized.

But today, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14959 to the Fast ring, although it's a bit light on new features.

The new Mobile build is the first to be published through Microsoft's new 'Unified Update Platform' (UUP), which promises significant improvements to the update process. Microsoft says that it will eventually "enable differential downloads for all devices built on the Mobile and PC OS", delivering "only the changes that have been made since the last time you updated your device, rather than a full build". You can find out more about the UUP here.

For PCs, just one new feature is listed:

Controlling the Display Scaling of your Virtual Machines (PC): We?ve heard your feedback that Hyper... Read more

General changes, improvements, and fixes for Mobile
This build includes all the improvements from KB4038788.
In preparation for the release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the product version number has been updated to 1709 just like PC.

We fixed an issue with the Messaging app where conversation text was displayed incorrectly. Thanks to our Insiders that quickly highlighted this issue.

Hello Windows Insiders!

We are releasing Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 15240 to Insiders in the Fast ring. For this flight, it?ll be a bit of a staggered release and it might not show up for you until tomorrow morning. Please be patient while waiting for the build to show up.

What?s New in Build 15240 for Mobile
Emoji 5.0: Just like we did on PC, we have added support for the latest Unicode updates ? including new snacks, actions, dinosaurs, and even fantasy characters like genies, fairies and zombies ? to Windows 10 Mobile in this build. They?re all accessible via both the touch keyboard and the Emoji Panel. We?ve tweaked some of our original emoji designs based on your feedback and to improve consistency with how the emoji is displayed on other platforms (while maintaining our Windows style).

New emoji include:

Examples of updated emoji ? before:

And after:

Chinese Lunar Calendar: We have received questions about supporting the Chinese Lunar calendar on Windows 10 Mobile. The power of a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app is that it can run on any Windows-based device. The Calendar UWP app supports the Chinese Lunar calendar on both PC and Mobile. Here?s how you can enable the calendar on Mobile:

Launch the Calendar app
Select Settings >Calendar settings

Earlier today, Dona Sarkar noted that Insiders will be going yet another week without a Fast ring build, as there now hasn't been one in 30 days. The reasoning for the delay was posted to the Feedback Hub, citing an issue with N+1 updates, meaning the process of upgrading a build to a newer one.

It would appear that that build was to be number 15002, as it's now been leaked online. Twitter user and renowned Microsoft leakster WalkingCat spotted it under Desktop App Converter base images.

As with all leaked builds, you're installing it at your own risk. In fact, there are a couple good reasons why you shouldn't, one being that this is a Desktop App Converter Base image, rather than a standard ISO installation image.

Another is the reason that Dona cited for the delay. N+1 means that you might have trouble getting future builds, and keep in mind that the last build, 14986, was the first to use Microsoft's new Unified Update Platform (UUP). The build to come after is to be the one where users will actually experience this, so it seems likely that UUP is responsible for the issues that the team was facing today with 15002.

Also, we don't even know what, if anything, has been added to this build since 14997 was leaked two weeks ago. Perhaps it might be best to sit this one out and just wait until there's an actual Fast ring build next week.

Microsoft released its latest Windows 10 Insider Preview, build 14915, for PCs and phones in the Fast ring today. The new Redstone 2 preview follows the release of build 14905 a couple of weeks ago.

Following its release of the Anniversary Update - formerly referred to as Redstone 1 - earlier this month, Microsoft said that early Redstone 2 development would focus on structural improvements to the OS. But while its latest build is light on new features, there are plenty of fixes and issues to be aware of.

Let's take a look at the improvements and fixes for PCs in build 14915:

We fixed the issue with being unable to use the power button on the Start menu.
We fixed the issue causing Cortana?s text to speech capabilities to not work. Cortana should be able to read text messages out loud for you, tell jokes, sing, or give verbal prompts as expected.
We fixed the issue causing the Settings app to crash on certain editions of Windows 10 when navigating to different settings pages due to a missing .dll file.
We made a number of improvements to translations, including fixing an issue in Windows Update where it would say ?your phone is up to date? in French when confirming that your PC was up to date.
Changing functionality via Settings > Update & security > Windows Insider Program such as your ring settings should now work again on this build. For more information ? see this forum post.
We fixed a compatibility issue from a recent platform change that causes... Read more

Before I even begin talking about anything else, I'd just like to comment on how great it feels to have the Start Menu back. I'm sorry guys, but going from the Windows 8/.1 Start Screen to the Start Menu is such a massive relief and a definite upgrade. If nothing else changed, it'd be worth the hassle of upgrading just to get the Start menu back. It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn great.
I've been using Windows 10, and right now it's right about level with Windows 8/.1 for performance and reliability. There's still a good share of glitches and bugs (especially with Edge and Cortana), and in some parts it seems like there's still plenty of optimization to be done. So far though, I'm liking what I see and Cortana is a huge help (if "Hey Cortana" would actually work at least half the time it would be even better, haha).
It's not perfect, there's still a lot of UI inconsistencies (it's still more consistent than Windows 8/.1 is in my opinion), and there's plenty of things that I'd like to see eventually. Such as a system wide dark theme, and tabs in File Explorer, and even for the Windows logo for the Start Menu to just be the tiniest bit larger. Some places the UI looks a little chunky (and not in the "optimized for touch" way but in the "we still have Windows 8/.1's borders" way) and out of place. Also, I was disappointed when I realized that the aero transparency for the Action Center and Start Menu only showed what was behind them when you first open them, instead of bein... Read more

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16362 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring who have opted in to Skip Ahead only. Insiders who joined Skip Ahead will continue to receive builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch which has transitioned to RS4 which is the release that will come after the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (RS3). Because we are just beginning development for RS4, Insiders shouldn?t expect to see a lot of big changes or new features just yet. Our focus remains getting the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update ready for release!

What?s new in Build 16362

Improved Boot Experience
Use sign-in info to apply settings after a restart or update: Building on our work seen in Build 16251, if you stay on the lock screen for a few seconds before signing in, you will now see your lock screen personalization (such as Windows Spotlight, and/or status information from Cortana, Calendar, Mail, and more). As always, you can customize your lock screen experience using the settings listed under Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 11099 arrives on the Fast ring

"It?s been a while since we?ve had any new Windows 10 preview builds, thanks to the holiday season, but Microsoft has at last pushed out a new build to the Fast ring. The software giant plans to make the Fast ring live up to its name this year with an accelerated release schedule.

In the future Microsoft?s criteria for releasing builds to the Fast ring will be much closer to its criteria for releasing them to its internal rings, which means new builds are likely to be buggier and suffer other issues. Build 11099, which is available for Insiders to download now, should be relatively stable however, as Microsoft has had a while to iron out any big problems.
The new build doesn?t contain any exciting new features. In fact it mostly makes structural improvements to OneCore, the core that Windows 10 shares across devices. This will, however, pave the way to greater changes down the line.

Explaining the improvements, Microsoft?s Gabe Aul says:

The code refactoring and other engineering work we?ve been doing to optimize OneCore is nearing the point where we will be ready for teams to begin checking in new features and improvements. It will still be a few builds before any really noticeable changes show up, depending on when teams begin lighting up new features in their areas. We?re excited for Insiders to use this build to validate the work we?ve been doing to OneCore, so give this build a try... Read more

Hello Windows Insiders!

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17004 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring who have opted in to Skip Ahead only.

Insiders will notice that the build numbers have jumped ahead again but this time to 17xxx. This is what we do normally at the beginning of development of a new feature update for Windows 10.

Also ? you may notice that the Windows Insider Preview branding has disappeared from the build (shown via the desktop watermark at the lower right hand corner). This should be back with the next build.

What?s new in Build 17004
Fluent Design: As we progress into the next feature update, you?ll begin to see more and more elements of Fluent Design light up. We love the enthusiasm we?ve seen for Fluent Design, and with today?s build you?ll notice that Reveal is now visible on Start in All apps.

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16353 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring who have opted in to Skip Ahead only. Our focus remains getting the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update ready for release!

More on Skip Ahead
We have had some Insiders ask us some questions about Skip Ahead and to clarify what it is. Back in July, we announced Windows Insiders in the Fast ring could opt-in and ?skip ahead? to builds that would be part of the next feature update for Windows 10. There was a limit on how many Insiders in the Fast ring we would allow to skip ahead and that limit had been reached several weeks ago. Insiders can no longer opt-in their PCs to Skip Ahead.

Up until last week, we had been releasing identical builds to Insiders who didn?t opt in to Skip Ahead and to those who did. As of today, the builds are no longer the same as mentioned above.

After rolling out Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14366 to the Fast and Slow Rings nearly two weeks ago, Microsoft has now released ISOs for Slow Ring users. The build includes a number of fixes and improvements comprised of updates to the size of the Windows Ink Workspace icon, Mobile Hotspot settings page, and Cortana search results, among others.

As with Insider Preview build 14342, Microsoft has made the ISOs available just two weeks afterrolling out the build to Fast Ring users.

Five versions of the ISOs are available:

Windows 10 Insider Preview - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Enterprise - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Education - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Home Single Language - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Home China - Build 14366
The ISOs are available in various languages, depending on the version you choose. It is also interesting to note that ISOs for build 14342 are still available for users.

As always, Microsoft's release notes also point out that "you will need to install the Windows 10 Insider Preview build on a device that has been previously activated with Windows 10 or with a Windows 10 product key." You can find further details about that here.

For those willing to try out newer builds, Microsoft has already released build 14372 to Fast Ring Insiders on both PC and Mobile.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview I had was at 14393 Anniversary level. It got hosed so I decided to do a clean install of the latest 14396 version. Installed fine but won't activate. Says previous installed OS was not activated.

This is a clean install to a newly defined Oracle VirtualBox VM.

Any way to get this activated now?

Answer:Can't activate clean install of latest Insider Preview under Orcale VB

I have the same issue with 2 in VMWare. Nothing to base this on, but in VMs there really is no hardware profile. Everything is virtualized. I haven't called MS yet. You can try to click on the 'Troubleshoot' option and then click on I changed the hardware. It should take you to your MS account and if the VM is listed there sometimes you can select it and activate.

Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14931 for PCs - but it also announced that it was holding off on a new Mobile build from the Redstone 2 branch as it needed more time to fix two major issues that had popped up in build 14926, which was released a week earlier.

Today, Microsoft announced the rollout of Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14936 for both PCs and phones, so those mobile issues have now been resolved.

As part of the announcement, Microsoft's Dona Sarkar shared a reminder regarding the upcoming expiration of some older Insider Preview builds:

Since September 15th, PCs running really old Insider Preview builds started to see build expiration notifications once a day. Starting on October 1st, these PCs will start rebooting every 3 hours and then on October 15th ? these PCs will stop booting all together. If your PC is running one of these old Insider Preview builds, please make sureyou update to the latest build available via Settings > Update & security > Windows Update. Build 14926 and newer has an updated expiration date of May 1st, 2017. If your PC is running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) in the Slow and Release Preview rings today ? this does not apply to you and you will not be notified of your build expiring.

The new build is available now to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring - be sure to let us know how you get on with them.

This happened after I re-register this device to Release Preview Ring of Insider Program. When it restarts, the Nokia logo shows up briefly then just turns into plain blue screen with no sad face or texts, then just shuts down after few seconds.
Does anybody have similar issue before and know what's the actual issue or reason of it? I am already planning to do reset or sadly using Device Recovery Tool, but I wanted to know the details and other issues regarding to this. This will also let other people know that may experience similar issue.
